This company is a rip-off. I bought 4 gift certificates two weeks ago and when I tried to use one, the manager told me they canceled their contact a year ago! I was totally embarrassed. I tried to get a refund, but restaurants.com said I could only get a credit. Well, they only have (had) one restaurant in my city, so I got scammed! I’ve filed a dispute with PayPal but don’t expect to see my $ again. Buyer beware.

      • Rae, sounds like you had a less than perfect experience. My advice to you would be to take the credit that Restaurant.com offered and redeem the credit toward certificates in another city that has more choices when you are on vacation. Or send them to a family member that lives in an area with more dining options.

where am i supposed to put the code in?

      nevermind, duh!

I don’t use these because there are only a few resturaunts even close to me but I have heard allot of good things from others who buy them all the time.

Try LowCountryForLess – they often have 1/2 off gift certificates for local restaurants such as Kicken Chicken and the Harbor Grille. Also right now they have a $50 gift certificate for the Halloween Express store in N. Charleston for only $25 (+ 3.75 proc. fee). That’s a huge savings. This is the 2nd year in a row I have taken advantage of that deal to save on my grandson’s costume.

      Rae,

That is awful what happened to you, but I do not fault Restaurant.com for it. If you printed it from their site, then the company had an active account at that time. If they decide to cancel their account with Rest.com, they should still honor any gift certificates that customers have purchase from there as long as they are not expired (regardless of when they canceled their account).

Most of the GCs are good for one year, so it seems to me it would be more of an issue with the restaurant itself rather than the site. I would definitely make a call to the manager or even owner of the store and explain your situation. It’s just not good business sense to conduct business in such a manner, especially in today’s economy!

Does anyone know if you have to spend $35.00 for each gift card you use, or just the one time $35.00 and then as many gift cards as needed? Thank you!

I ordered a gift certificate when they were 90% off a couple of weeks ago. I payed with Paypal and it took me two weeks and 4 phone calls! They did finally issue me a credit and I now have a certificate that I hope will work. They gave me a big run around for a while. They told me they are having trouble with Paypal so use with caution.
