Scenario Idea

  • Really guys… grab the free light bulbs and then grab anything else that you need. Since there isn’t anything else for free it makes planning a scenario pretty tough.
    • JC

This is a horrible ad! Surprising for Rite Aid!

      • RebeccaFer

I'm thinking they're due for a breather since they've been going crazy with the freebies lately. They deserve a little break I guess. Lol. :)

    • Courtney

There are 2 riteaid coupons for the ky, one for kissable, and one for intense, each for $3.00 if these are included then it would be 1.99 and get back $2.00 ups so free

    • Fallaya

      Wow…what a snoozer week!

    • Mjb7187

By what date do you have to spend the $100 to receive the UP rewards? Will it keep a running tally online?

      • Megan

Goes through 2/26. As long as you scan your Wellness card, your updated total will print at the bottom of your receipt. As for a tally online, I have never been able to find it.

        • Mjb7187

          Thanks so much Megan!

        • meme

I spoke with a Rite Aid customer service rep and she said they did not have a program that traced the Resolution points. We would have to follow it printing at the end of each receipt. Also, all discounts including manu. coupons are taken off before the points are tallied. I gave up on getting to $100. If I had a new prescription to fill I may have managed to get to the total but there again, I couldn't use an insurence plan for this either. The least OOP is my main concern right now.

          • Pam

That is strange because mine did not work like that. It did not take my coupons off of my totals only took off any discount for the sales. For example, I started out with the Aquafresh deal a couple of weeks ago and, even though my total was $8+tax after coupons, I got credit for $20 toward the Resolution Rewards. And, this past week, I got some of the Dixie plates that were B1G1 and used the RA $3/2 Q. So, although I only paid $.99 for 2 packs, I got credit for $3.99 (the price of 1 pack since they were B1G1) toward the Resolution Rewards. Maybe it depends on your area – I am in SC.

            • Karen

              “Ditto, N.C. too”

            • Dee

Up Rewards are not coupons so I THINK those SHOULDNT be deducted from the 100

          • Dawn

How far away were you from getting the reward? I posted on last weeks RA post my scenario that worked out to be about $75 towards the RR. I spent about 10 bucks OOP for mine, if you have Ups to use its less.

If you just buy 2 pacs of the Zantac (ad ending 1/22) thats $15.98 towards it, use 2 $5.00 off coupons and get back 2 $2 ups. The Pepsi was a good deal too (5 12 packs for 10.98)

Mine appeared to be counting the entire purchase amount though as near as I could tell, LOL Or something I bought qualified and I didn't know it!

          • Dianne N

I’m surprised MQs come off first. Mine haven’t. Plus when I looked at the rules they allow UPs and SCRs to count toward the totals. These are things they lose money on while MQs are reimbursed. It doesn’t make sense.

    • Thanks so much for the list!

    • spf

Has anyone had any problem with the Resolution Rewards? I had one transaction that showed my amount to be over $80, so when I went to Rite Aid thinking I would only have to spend $20 more, the new receipt showed almost $10 less! I've gone to a few stores and they said they haven't seen that before- I just want to make sure this isn't a common occurrence

      • Couponcrystal

One of my cashiers at Rite Aid had this happen to her. She was going to call customer service, because she was at $80 and then when she checked out the next time it had dropped to $70. I didn't make it this time. Trying to come up with a scenario from this week's ad (the one still currently running) to get me $50 more , but I doubt that's gonna happen.

        • Dawn

Well, you could buy 50 rolls of RA TP, LOL Oh, wait, you can't… :P I compaired it to the cheap scotts paper and it is awfully scratchy! :O I got six rolls on Sunday at one store, they said everyone cleaned them out! They got more in on Weds, limit 3 at one store, limit 1 at the other. I wanted the tissue, but they didn't have any.

If you still have Maalox or Free Excedrin coupons laying about, those qualify too. Plus the cheap Zantac too. I had to really think hard about a scenario to come up with enough to reach mine, I would have bought more last week if I had known it was going to be hard!

      • rs

YES!!! It happened to me. The store wouldn’t help me even though the previous transaction was $.23 away from my $100! Then, it was $10 short. I had to call cust service and it will take 2-3 WEEKS to get it mailed to me. Very frustrating. At least they are taking care of it.

    • meme

There are many negative remarks about the sales offers this week. From experience, I can appreciate there are those who are caregivers who would love to see the disposable underwear, etc on sale.

    • Cwollard

is there going to be a limit on the light bulbs just like they made for the TP this week?

      • Rty33

If people start clearing the shelves the minute the store opens, they might be. Just to be on the safe side, shop as soon as the sale begins.

      • I actually hope that there is. That way more people will be able to benefit from the offer. But I hope they set it BEFORE the shelves are wiped clean. A limit of 2 would be nice.

        • Amy

I heard that there was a possible limit of six on these. I guess we will wait and see.

          • I don't think that I ever remember seeing 6 of the same wattage in my my store at the same time.

            • Amy

Yeah, but I think fewer people will be interested this week since they aren't CFLs…then again, who knows? I'm not going to get my panties in a knot if they're sold out when I get there. That's what rain checks are for anyway….=)

      • Dee

Six per card. Wish they would put this info in the AD!!! but you can always call 1 800 rite aid to ask before hand.

    • Mlg Cmg

I made the $100 and my $20 Ups+ printed fine. I now have 54 Ups to spend and this ad is not helping me… I was at CVS today paying for the dog food on sale with Up+s and the cashier thought I was crazy… it must Male MenoPause!!! Heck I thought she was the crazy one. Mikey “Crazy Couponing Dad”

    • Andre

We don't have a single old-style bulb left in our home.

      • Courtney

We still have some old ones in our house but slowly moving to the other, not sure if I want to buy these even if its free since its not the new kind

        • Dee

The other kind are so much more expensive. The free ones would be good to have on hand until you can catch a deal on the newer kind.

      • Lisa

You can always buy them and donate them to a shelter if you have one close by….Just a thought

        • Andre

          Good idea – thanks!!!

        • Jane

Donating items is a noble action, but please only do this if there is an abundant supply on the shelves on the last day of the sale. There are plenty of other couponers out here who DO need them and are trying to do the work to provide for their own families and do not qualify for donated items from a shelter.

OR – if you really want to donate something valuable – volunteer to teach a class on couponing to the folks at the shelter and you have given them a skill that they can use for the rest of their lives.

          • Fallaya

Exactly. Thank you for saying something. I need light bulbs in my HOME..

          • Morgan

Why are you guys more entitled to those items on the shelf and not the people at the shelter?

            • Rty33

So go back to RA towards the end of the sale and requests rebates for the items you want to donate. There are some of us who need the items in our own homes. If you really want to donate something, why not donate your TIME? Ever think of volunteering at a local shelter?

            • Morgan

Volunteering time is important but people do need THINGS as well and you don’t have a right to tell me how I should spend my time.

You aren’t more deserving than anyone else. Thus no one feels bad for you because someone cleared the shelves. Life is like that. SUCK IT UP.

            • Val

Morgan/Megan/Alex or whatever “name” you’re using at the moment… enough already! Let’s move on to helping others find good deals. Which is what this site is all about!

          • Dee

Limit of six packs of lights per card.

          • Megan

Seriously? Now you are going to dictate when I can purchase items that I want to donate? Get over yourself. Clearly Lisa was trying to make a positive suggestion.

          • Coupongal1

Really – who wrote this? I donate monthly to churches and shelters around town. If I could not get the items weekly from Rite Aid I would not be able to donate. What I give helps a lot of people in this area. So what gives you the right to tell me I shouldn’t donate? Lets get back to helping each other find ways to save instead of all the malice stuff being written on this form.

          • Morgan

If you’re so scared of people clearing the shelves for donation, why don’t you go volunteer and teach people “a skill that they can use for the rest of their lives?”

      • Dee

Us either!! I hate the old ones! lol

    • Bryarsmom

      Glad for the break!
It was a bit rough, making it to all the different stores this week to get our 70 tp :)

      • Courtney

        70 tp??

      • susansaver

I'm sorry, but did you really need 70 packages of TP? I went to the store on Sunday at noon and they were already sold out…try to be considerate of the fellow shoppers and only get what you need. Toilet paper will be on sale again!

        • Amy

She/He went to different stores to buy all that. If you wanted to get in on the deal, you should have gone at opening. There's no need to get mad because someone got in on a deal that you missed or to call them greedy. I bought a bit of TP and it pissed another woman off so much when she saw me loading the car she felt she needed to say some nasty things. She had no idea why I was buying 6 4-packs and 4 single rolls (for a future girl scout camping trip – the restrooms never have any TP) but she sure felt like it wasn't “fair” and I was being “greedy” She even called me a shelf clearer. I waited until 12:30 to buy my stuff – the store opened at 8am. She had her chance. Some people just need to chill. I've gotten free Scott and Cottonelle at Rite Aid before and I like them way better than the $1 store brand. Plus, I heard on the DL that Rite Aid was trying to get rid of their extra TP/Tissues because they started turning color and they had originally planed to have them free after UP again in a month or so…After this mess, I'm not sure they will.

          • Guest

28 rolls of tp for one camping trip? It will be on sale again!

            • Amy

Not for one group of girls mind you. It's our annual trip which involves over 100 people for a whole week. It isn't even good TP, I don't understand all the fussing. If you all need TP that badly, go print three $1 VV Qs (all in the same account) and pick up 3 4-packs for free any day. Plus, I have already noted that I buy TP on sale at Rite Aid all the time…

            • Sb

If you're printing 3 I hope it's not the same Video Value coupon. You can only use the coupon once.

            • Amy

Didn't I say “the same account” – there are three different $1 coupons available.

            • Sb

Oh, you are referring to the $1 off any nonprescription VV q. I didn't know what coupon you were talking about. I thought it was TP q. Saying “the same account” didn't really clarify what you were talking about.

            • Amy

Yes I did. Sorry for not clarifying. I guess I didn't realize what you were asking. Thanks for clearing that up for everyone.

            • rty33

Then go buy t.p….why did you need so much free toilet paper? If you can't afford the camping trip then why did you plan it?

            • KC

Like I said, “None of our business” who cares how much or why or what she can afford! If she saw an opportunity to save some money by getting it free that is her business.

            • Val

LOL. Am I the only one thinking Karen, Alex, and Amy are the same person??

            • Alex

What is with this sense of entitlement? You no more deserve the free TP than a bunch of little girls. I'm glad someone is out there working hard to make their experiences great.

            • KC

That is her perrogative! Really isn't any of our business how much TP she wants to buy. If she wants 10,000 rolls for the trip that is her choice.

          • susansaver

I'm not mad and I don't believe my comment was the slightest bit nasty. I was just pointing out that some people take deals to the extreme and in doing so, clear the shelves so that other people can enjoy the same free product. I even commented to the store manager about the empty shelves and asked if if was possible to limit the deals. He told me that he's tried and the people will call the corporate office and complain. Things are getting a tad bit out of control.

          • Sb

“She/He went to different stores to buy all that.”

Awesome. So, not only did she “wipe” one store clean, but instead cleared them all out in her area.

          • Fallaya

It they wanted to get rid of it so bad, then why did they place a limit on them? You sound greedy.

            • Alex

Maybe because whiny people like you don't know what a rain check is.

            • Fallaya

              Wow…very mature.

            • Morgan

Judging other people and calling them “greedy” isn't mature either.

          • Val

I think you made an excellent point- that you've gotten free toilet paper at Rite Aid before. This isn't the only opportunity to get tp for free. But to me this is exactly why we shouldn't clear the shelves. There will be another deal out there in a month or so, get some more then. By clearing the shelves of toilet paper every couponer or just a smart shopper in general that came after you got none. I want everyone to get a deal– I wish the store had more in stock– they don't and so, I'm mindful to others. Rain checks are great, but are inconvenient at times, and make the scratchiest toilet paper ever (jk). So, if I for some reason needed 20 rolls of toilet paper for a gathering, what I would have done was gotten 2 or 3 for my family. Then gone back at the end of the week to either stockup or get that raincheck that according to Alex, “whiny people don't know about”

            • Amy

I do think that it isn't right to “clear the shelves” I know how frustrating it can be to go in on Sunday at 8am and find that my store is already out of stock. I wasn't trying to start a fight but somehow this thread got out of control. I only bought what I thought we needed. There was still product left on the shelf when I left regardless of what that woman thought of me. What really frustrates me is that I didn't have that much (or at least I didn't think so) of the TP and that crazy woman thought it was okay to tell me I'm not a nice person when she doesn't even know me. I might feel a little guilty if we didn't have 7 other Rite Aids within 20 mins. At least two of them still have plenty in stock. I did try to be mindful by asking the store I normally shop to order extra a couple of weeks ago. We all have to decide how much is “enough” when shopping “free after UP” sales and, unfortunately, “enough” varies in number and by person.

            • rs

My stores refuse to give rainchecks on UP reward items. I'm not whining. It's the truth in my area. My store clerks HATE couponers now because they are seeing the worst side of greed and selfishness. My mom is a hoarder and it is a mental disorder. Incredibly sad. Wasn't always this way. I try to keep myself in check as couponing lends itself to hoarding.

          • Dee

Most tp and paper towels start turning color as soon as light hits them.Scotts PTs are the worst for this. This has been going on for decades. That isn't why they had the sale :D

          • Raynesmw

I believe it about the color thing, some of mine were beige looking on the outside. Made me remember the times when we actually could buy colored toilet paper. :-)

      • Freeingu

anybody want to nominate Bryarsmom for hoarders?

      • Ginger

Wow, this is an ugly thread. Anyone who doesn't like judging and stuff-slinging should probably just skip down about 20 or 30 comments.

Look, we all get irritated at what we percieve as unfairness, people. But if you don't know someone, what they're going through, what may motivate certain behaviors, and what their family's need are, then you don't really know. Live and let live, geez.

    • Twitterbell

Here is a scenario. Pantene is on sale 2 for 7.00

Buy the light bulbs for 1.99
Use UPS from light bulbs and get Pantene 2 for 5.00
      Use 3.00 off of 2 coupon ( I got mine here: http://www.couponsthingsbydede.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=pantene&Search.x=0&Search.y=0)

Pantene is now 2 for 2.00, since you need light bulbs anyway.

    • Mjb7187

If I use the B1G1 for the Special K, can I use $1/2 as well when purchasing two?

      • Sb

No. the b1g1 coupon applies to the free item, the $1/2 would apply to both items. So, you have more than one mft coupon per item. If you had just $1 off one and a b1g1 you could maybe do that, but it would still depend on the cashier because some say the b1g1 applies to both.

        • ctc

I used my B1G1 and $1/2 last week and in went thru with no beeps : ) Good luck

          • Val

If you bought three products this then is legit. 2 not so much….

      • ChrissyPunkin

Do you have 2 B1G1? If you bought 4 boxes, you could use the $1/2 for sure.

      • michelle R

no because u are only paying for one. but if you get 4 you can use 2 b1g1 and $1/2 . ymmv

    • Er87

Not that exciting for me either. I keep hoping for a huggies deal to go with these $2 off vv coupons! My supply is getting uncomfortably low (3 or 4 packs I think) good news is if I buy any this month it will count towards my winter rewards total. I am hoping for some good monthly +up deals that may make some of these better.

      • susansaver

Be patient…I saw a sneak peak of the following week's deals and Huggies will be on sale!!

        • Angelareid821

          Amen! Need some diaper too!

    • kristi d

Yesterday I bought 2 Almay Intense eye shadows.. thought they were 7.49 B1G1 half off. Used 2 video value coupons and when I got home and checked my receiptm, they rang up at 1.94..
There wasnt any clearanced stickers on them..they were just hanging with the other makeup. So check your store and if you have the video value coupons from last month..use them for free eye shadow !!

    • Lisa

Be considerate- save some for the rest of us! I went to Rite Aid at `10:00 last Sunday morning to get some free Kleenex, and they were already sold out. Someone went to both my Rite Aids and bought out all the Kleenex and toilet paper, which caused the store to put a limit of 3 on the free items with no rain checks. Save the rest of us some lightbulbs this week please!

      • Jlnwdw

who are you even talking too?

        • Karen

I am sure she is talking to anyone who is guilty of this and may be rading these comments.

      • Alex

Why not ask your store to order extra in advance for the sale if there is high demand? Many stores appreciate a heads up and it helps keep more stock for others.

      • Dee

Six per card is the limit on the light bulbs

    • mrsmadayar

The printable $3 for the Keri lotion doesn't work anymore :(

    • Remsbergs

Do we know if the spent $100.00 for Jan is ending 22nd or can we shop on the 22nd I just dont wnat to lose the deal but reallydont wnat to go out friday night to spend my last few dollars!

      • Alex

You can earn a $20 UP through the 22. A new Buy $100 get $20 UP starts the 23rd.

      • Dee

You can still shop on Saturday to get it. Sunday begins the new sale.

    • Rachel

My plan use 20 up to buy ten lighthouse then buy 2 of the
Provoking stuff I want to try. And use. A free excedrin q and the 5 off mallow
Oop will be tax start with 22 up end 19 up but all
Have 32 for the winter reward or 52 depending if the provoking counts
So stoked to be able to get two 20 rewards this month heart healthy one I need
Some neutrogena bodywash which I haven't found a q for yet

    • On the video rewards what does it mean when you get beauty credits? For an example I watched a video for L'oreal lipstick and got “1 credit”.

      • Courtney

get 15 credits and you get a coupon for $4 off $20

      • Dee

the credits add up to earn a 4 dollar off purchase of 20, or 5 off 25, etc… just watch all of them.

Most of the coupons I am trying to print tell me I have printed the number of times, when I have not printed any of them. ?

      • Marysc1000

That usually means that they have met their total print limit, but have not yet been removed from the web site. (Or that you printed them sometime in the past and they have not been “reset” so you can print more.)

    • Dee

Six per card/household is the limit on the light bulbs

      • Nita Royal

How do you find out what the limits are? When UPs first started, I'd see the limits printed in the ad, or on the tag. Now it seems like a guessing game. But I don't need light bulbs…..just would like to know for other deals. Thanks!

        • Val

Unfortunately, it is a guessing game. I read these message boards to see what people know, but usually it's unlimited.

        • Paige_Aminehdestin

It was left out of the ad, but we did get a memo in store as soon as the ad was printed basically, giving us the limit 6 memo to put up on the shelves. I don't know how, but I've seen several sites who already seem to know it as well. :-)

    • behappyweknowhowtogetfreestuff

I personally read the comments below to see what new deals one may have found, or what deals did not work for them. I feel this is one of the greatest things I have found recently! I am a single mother and work a full time job, still finding it hard to provide the things my child needs. I no longer have to worry about how I am going to buy my next tube of tooth paste! So to get on here and see grown people arguing about how many toilet papers someone bought is ridiculous! Why should you judge someone for the amount they bought, it's free! So what you didn't get any, I know it sucks! Get over it. Be happy for the person who got their free scratchy toilet paper! If I went to Wal-Mart and bought 70 rolls of toilet paper, would you judge me then? Also if someone wants to go buy six things of light bulbs next week to donate, and I don't get any… it wasn't my choice on what they did with them in the first place.

      • Ginger

        Right there with you, Behappy.
Sure, it's frustrating to get aced out of something. But that's life, right?
Maybe next week the people who are mad about TP and whatnot are going to be the ones explaining why they need 7 packs of Finish, or 8 boxes of Splenda, or whatever.
Can't we all just get along? :)

        • behappyweknowhowtogetfreestuff

Hey Ginger! With that mentality I think we can get along just fine!

          • Tara

If something is out, all you have to do is get a rain check and use it the next week when you go back. I don't stress at all about it.

      • Let it go already!

Can we just drop this whole subject please? If you want to be greedy, then be greedy. Just don't come on this board and expect people to applaud you.

        • Sandy

      • I don't agree with that. Why do YOU need more toilet paper than any of the rest of us around here? Why do YOU have to be the greedy person to take it all from someone else who needs it just as much? These comments aren't directed at you per se, its a general comment and I understand why people are upset about the toilet paper deal. Sure life isn't fair, but we all know these deals come around again so there is no need to wipe out the store and be greedy.

        • who-reallycares!

I personally didn't purhcase one thing of free toilet paper! I prefer to buy mine once a month at Kroger with the $3 ecoupon! It ends up being $3 or less for a big package of Charmain Ultra Strong! I would pay that anyday over tons of free awful toilet paper! But if you went and bought out all of it before I had a chance oh well!

      • It really is nasty scratchy toilet paper isn't it, lol. Folks, if you aren't in dire straights, you're not missing anything, trust me.

    • Nita Royal

Does anyone know: can the $20 Resolution Reward UP be used with any card? I'm asking because my mother gave me hers, in lieu of a cash reimbursement for buying her groceries. I'm fine with it, but am wondering if it will work with MY wellness card. Thanks

      • Marlenecu

Yes it will work with yours. That is according to RA's resolution rewards FAQ on their website.

    • melly

has anyone tried the aquaphor deal with the baby skin products? im hoping their included because i have a few coupons …..thanks :)

    • Ok silly question- If i have a $5 off $25 and a $4 off $20 can I use them together on a $25 purchase (giving the $5 one first and then the $4 one) or can I only use one or the other or can I use them on a $45 purchase together?

      • You can only use one of them per transaction.

        • I thought so but it never hurts to ask!

      • Where are you getting $5 off $25? And I used to use them all together because the VV are separate. But you never know, each RiteAid seems to do things differently. Still, where are you getting the $5???

        • Lori

There are still a few out there. I know in my Kid Stuff books (they are a fundraiser for my preschool), it has $5/25 coupons in it for Rite Aid, dated through at least August, and RA has said they would take any valid $5/25 coupons after Jan. 1. Haven't used them yet, but you can bet I will…

        • ChrissyPunkin

Check your Wellness account. I found one in mine last month.

      • Coupongal1

Hi! Where did you get a $5 off $25 coupon?

      • Paige_Aminehdestin

No. I know some stores don't pay attention, and allow it, but if you read the coupon policy, it states specifically, that only one total purchase coupon can be used in one transaction. If you want to use more than one, you have to do multiple transactions and meet the requirements in each. Corporate will come down on stores who allow more than one in a trx.

    • Gtjo1996

Ok so I thought I had heard RiteAid had finally gotten their computers up to speed where we could earn the “Buy $ get $$” across multiple transactions. I did not realize that I was still earning 10% off with my wellness card and inadvertantly ended up 77 cents short on the Burts Bees deal!! GRRRR So I went back and bought one more thing which SHOULD have triggered it. No go! I called corporate after my local store said they couldn't help me. Corporate was VERY nice and explained that you cannot use multiple transactions at RA to earn those deals. She did apologize that the ad didn't specify that it had to be in one shopping trip. So be ware, you must do one transaction to earn these deals.

      • Nikki

The same thing happened to me on the Aveeno & J&J deal. I realized it before I left the store and asked the cashier about it. She was great! She entered everything as a return & purchase. She even pointed out that I was over the required amount. After doing that my UP printed. I prefer CVS's computer system much more.

    • This happened to me last week with the Aveeno deal. I realized it as soon as I checked out. The cashier was nice enough to refund the things that I bought so that I could get one more item and get the reward. It actually worked out quite well because I had forgotten to use the in-ad coupons the first time, so I was able to use them the second time around and only had to pay about 50¢ for the last item. If I were you, I would return it all and re-purchase,

    • Trying to delete double post.

I have a question about the Rite Aid coupons for watching the videos: do you have to download software to print the coupons?

      • Nita Royal

no, they're easy to print. Just one note that they are kind of large, so normally only 6 print on a sheet of paper. Often, I watch those that I don't expect to use, so prefer not to waste ink on them. I just prioritize in multiples of 6, then go back later and print others if I decide I want them..

        • Guest

Thank you. I'm not really sure what you mean, but at least now I will begin watching and hopefully saving more money. Thank you.

    • tbmiller

If there is a limit on the lightbulbs, I guess I will just have to sign up for more cards. The shelter around here is a little dark.

      • Cindy

yes there is a limit now!

      • Superjen

Instead of cheating the system, just donate $10 to the shelter. They would prefer that I'm sure…

        • Bill

          I agree with Jen!!!

    • Mandi

Not sure if this happened to anyone else today but I had to finish up my Jan Resolution Rewards and it counted for Jan & Feb today! The cashier pointed it out to me! $41 for Feb already! Yay!

      • heather

Same exact thing happened to me today! Sweet!

      • Nurse_stacy_nc

Same thing for me today…$21 toward Winter Rewards printed on the bottom of my receipt!

      • Bill

Yesterday Jan 22 was the last day of the resolution rewards program. Points are reset today and the Winter Rewards program begins…Sorry!

    • ym

Could I also submit the $30 Nature Made purchase for their $5 rebate found in the 1/16 SS?
Also found a $3 off Nature Made coupon in the CVS Reinventing Beauty magazine.

    • Fallaya

This is the scenario I'm planning to do tomorrow…

      KY Intense $9.99
      GE Light bulbs x 2 $1.99 each

      -5 KY manu coupon
      -2 KY VV coupon
      -1 VV coupon
      -6 + ups

      Total OOP: Zero

      Will get: 1.99 +ups x 2 AND 2 +up

      • melly

im curious if this worked for you i havent made it out yet and i didnt know if the intense were included in the sale….

        • Nysummer2010

nope…they are not on sale :(

        • Fallaya

No, the intense was not included…boo!! :-(

    • Gotpaypal

Happened to me then it screwed me up. I made a purchase that brought me up to 94 dollars and change. Bought an 8.00 item. Changed my total to 84 and change. And the new one? Went from 17 to 9. WTF?

    • Mine went all screwy too, I was $4.00 short and then after another purchase, like $40 short. They called corporate offices and they are going to send me my $20.00 in the mail.

      • oh that's a relief that they are working with you! that happened to me but corporate was closed when i had done my purchases. what i realized was mine wasn't updated the total after each purchase tonight, but based on what it was previously. I had about $50 towards it when I went in, then i spent about $30 so it said was aroun $80, did another transaction about $15 and when it printed it just added to the original $50 for about $65, then did another $5 to push over and said only had $55. talked to the manager and she said i should have enough and to call corporate so hopefully they are nice like they were for you. was awesome that it was showing up as counting towards the “winter rewards” though since they were switching over when I was in there!

    • jessica

I am trying to work out a better deal with the diapers!!! Someone please help bc their is also a 2off video value

      • kaseyshadow

over at iheartsavingmoney she post a way to get free diapers every week at rite aid. That may help

    • christa

on the eucerin b2g1 deal, will they let you use 3 MQs?

      • Rty33

        Only 2

      • You should be able to. I do know that you can use 2 when a product is BOGO, so this should not be a problem either.

      • Paige_Aminehdestin

Like Suemh said below, you should be able to. Policy says that when buying two items that are BOGO free, a customer can use one manufacturer's coupon on each item being purchased (no matter the cost, so free or not, it's still being purchased), as long as the total cost of the two items does not go below $0. So if there's a B2G1 sale, it should work the same way, one MQ can be used on each item purchased, and technically if there were RA coupons one could be used on each as well, but you're really never going to find 3 RA coupons for one sale since they all state “one per customer”, as long as the subtotal of the 3 items doesn't go below free. If the coupons will take your subtotal below $0, the third coupon should be adjusted down making all three free + tax.

    • laura

The huggies wipes $1 coupon is for a tub and wipe refill of 180 or more You have to purchase both with the coupon….

    • Bill

      You're an asshole…You are responsible for tax…Stop wasting everyone's time for $.77.

    • Tirezza

I did the Nature Made deal this morning. Not only did I get 16 UPS from Nature Made, I also got 10 UPS for a $30 heart healthy purchase!

      • CouponCrystal

Can you tell me exactly what you purchased? And the prices? Thanks :)

        • Jlnwdw

I would love to know the same.

        • Rhiannon353

I got it too! I bought 3 bottles of Fish Oil (100 capsule bottles) for $10.49 each, and used 1 $3 store, 2 $4 man, and 1 $3 man Q & 13+ups, so I paid about $5 cash and then got $26 in +up rewards!! And I'll also send in for the $5 MIR from the paper, so it ended up being a great deal!!

          • Linda

I'm curious about the $5 MIR. It says $30 after subtracting the coupons, so will I have to purchase more Nature Made products to be able to use it. I purchased just a little over $30 this morning to get the UPs, but I used $13 in coupons. However, only one of the coupons state that it was NM on the receipt.

      • Nita Royal

I just got the same thing! I bought the Nature Made Fish Oils (2) Odorless @ 11.99, and (1) large bottle @16.99 (Couldn't use the smaller, cheaper ones, because the 20% discount would have put my total under $30). After using 3 of the $4 off Nature Made Mfg q's and 1 RA $3 q, plus some UPs, I spent $1.15 OOP and got back $26.

    • shaz

Did anyone get the coupon -$5/2 L’Oreal Excellence Creme RP 1/23
I didn't get it and cannot find it..

      • Ginger

I think I have it, if you still need it. Shoot me an email to geegeeburr at hotmail dot com with something in the header referring to Southern Savers, and I can mail it to you.

    • Nita Royal

Did anyone do the light bulb deal this morning? My mother got 5 packs, got the ups, but her Winter Rewards total was only .05. These were marked at “Buy and Save”, so expected to get full credit. She didn't argue, though, since the bulbs were free except for sales tax.

      • Smchcoupons

I just bought 15 packs thinking I would get $30 towards the $100 but I just got the .15. I also only got 6 +UP but I talked to the manager and he was so nice and helpful. Since it didn’t say anything about a limit in the ad he just gave me the remaining +UP money on a gift card. From what is posted below we should be getting credit for these!

        riteaid.com says this under FAQ’s:
Will items that qualify for in-store +UP Rewards still count toward my reward?
Yes. You have the opportunity to increase your savings by getting instant rewards with our weekly
advertised +UP Rewards, as well as month-long sale prices, +UP Rewards. You also can save later through
our Single Check Rebates program and by earning the Winter Rewards $20 +UP.

      • Klynn

I got 4 packs. My rewards were .04.

      • Cwoll

yes. same exact thing. then i went to another store and got three more but only received one $1.99 up. apparently there is a limit of six, although not posted anywhere.

        • Cwoll

but the $20 rewards is a total of $0.08 now. Now sure what s up with that. Has anybody purchased an item that is part of the $20 rewards (not the light bulbs) and received full credit?

          • Nita Royal

Yes – the fish oil deal gave me full credit towards the winter reward.

      • Courtney

I did 2 packs and mine says .02 I used ups on all mine though. I am going to call customer service and check tomorrow.

        • Let us know what happened ?!!!

        • Smchcoupons

Under FAQ's for the Winter Rewards it does say that items that qualify for in-store +UP rewards will still count towards the $100 reward, so hopefully it's something they'll fix. In the meantime I'm keeping my receipts.

    • Nita Royal

New VV Bonus today. These weren't there last night, but today there's a new set of videos, and if you watch most of them, it gives a $2 Winter Bonus coupon.

      • Nita Royal

        And another $1 off Q

        • Courtney

          there are 3 $1 off q's, a 4/20 I think for watching beauty ones, and a $2 q for the winter bonus.

    • Joydk02

I was able to get 8 packs of light bulbs and spent, tax and all, roughly $3 all together!

      • Joydk02

        8 is the limit, btw

    • WynetteC

Great deal on the fish oil and CoQ10. These are NEED items for me and they actually worked out free when my UPs printed out there was a $16 UP from Nature Made and another $10 UP (exp. date 4/9/11) for buying $30 in healthy heart purchase. This is a fabulous deal and should encourage anyone trying to save money along with taking care of their body! :)

      • Mrs.Clack

I want to get these items. What exactly did you purchase? I saw below where people were getting just the Fish Oil but I was looking at getting both… Thanks!

        • WynetteC

          I bought the CoQ10 100 mg(40 liquid gels) =23.99

Fish Oil 1200 mg (60 liquid soft gels) = 11.49

I used one video value coupon -$3 off Nature Made Fish Oil
And I used 1 – $6 off Nature Made CoQ10 (Feb. All You Magazine)
And 1 – $4 off Nature Made Fish Oil (Feb All You Magazine)

Then there is the $5 Mail in Rebate. :)

          • Nysummer2010

I think the $5 mail-in rebate is only qualified for items after subtracting the coupons , isn't it ?!

            • WynetteC

Hmmm, I probably should have paid attention to the fine print, but I already mailed it off. Guess it will be one of those surprise things now that is if it does get accepted, lol.

            • Ksilvers04

by any chance do you remember which insert you found the mail in rebate?

            • WynetteC

              I am sorry, I don't. :(
It just happened that a friend found it as she was flipping through one of her inserts, so I do not know which one she got it from.

Keep your eyes posted, there's a wealth of knowledge on this website and someone will have that answer for you soon, I'm sure! :)

            • ym

the nature's made $5 rebate is in the 1/16 SS. It's a full page ad

            • Nysummer2010

              it's from SS on 1/16 :)

    • Guest

Please don't use vulgarity…even as an abbreviation, it's very offensive to some of us. There are plenty of other ways to express frustration.

    • Dawn

Did anyone buy the bonus pack of Fish Oil and still have the HH reward print? I bought two of the 23.99 150ct odorless and one of the CoQ10 (wrong size for the HH though, they didn't have any ads in store!) They had no idea what I was talking about and thought it didn't start yet?

    • Phillis

Holy Cow, just did the Nature Made Fish Oil deal and got my both the $10 HH ups and Nature Made $16 ups! I purchased 1 Fish oil at $10.49, one at $11.49 and one at $16.99 (had to buy this group because I get the 20% off.) I used last months and this months VV $3 off coupon for nature made, $5, $4, $2 mfg coupon (from All You) a $5 off $25 that was in my wellness account, rest in ups (about $13) paid $.14 oop. I am doing the “Happy Dance” tonight.

      • Julie B

I also saw a form for a $5 Rebate for Nature Made Fish Oil. Check your coupon section in the paper.

      • NCSaver

        thanks for the info – I got 1 fish oil 180 ct reg 16.99 and 2 – COQ10 reg 23.99

        i get the 20% off as well so I had 19.19+19.19+13.59 = 51.98
        – 6.00 (COQ10 from all you) -5.00 (off COQ10 from all you) -4.00(off fish oil from all you) and – 3.00 VV -1.00 video values bonus equals 32.98 + tax.

Received $16 up, and 2 $10 ups on the Heart Healthy program since I spent $50 so it ended up a money maker heart saving transaction – thanks for the tips!!

        • Morgan

I am so jealous of both of you! I did a similar deal, and NEITHER of the UP printed. Even the manager was in disbelief that I didn't even get the $16 UP that was on the hangtags! Anyway, she called CS for me, and they are mailing them instead. Hopefully they will get here soon!

    • Fallaya

Had a nice, low-key shopping trip today.

      2 GE light bulbs (1.99 x 2)
      Sustenex (9.99)
      RA tissue packet (.39)

Used 8 +ups, $1 VV coupon, and $5 Sustenex manufacturer coupon.

      With tax included, paid $0.61. Received 1.99, 1.99 and 4 in +ups.

      • Mmoody2

Is there a limit on the number of UP deals for the light bulbs??

        • C_Paige

It's a limit of 6 per the corporate memo.

    • Vwbug215

Has anyone been able to do the nature made/heart healthy deal twice? (In 2 seperate transactions)

      • tracy

Yes–I got the same amt. of ups in each transaction. The heart healthy ups come after spending $30 and then after spending $50.

    • Naysmommy

Does anyone know if the Loreal Youth Code is part of the Loreal buy $15 and get $5 back in Ups??

      • Lazyleah78

I have not tried this, but I received an email this week with a picture of the Youth Code and it said receive a $5 UP wyb $15 of Loreal products.

    • Daniel

I was just reading over the RiteAId coupon Policy. There is a statment saying that you can use two manf q on the same item as long as one of those manf q came out of the RiteAid circular. Has anyone tried this?

      • Smchcoupons

Yes I have done this and it works. For example you can use the coupon you get out of the RiteAid circular and one you clip from SmartSource.

        • Beth

Im wondering the same, but instead of the right aid circular, its the video coupon. I have that plus a manufacturer coupon from all you.

          • ChrissyPunkin

Yes, you can use a Video Values coupon with a manufacturer coupon on the same item. :-)

      • Guest

Correct!!! You are allowed to use up to 3 coupons on one item: one Rite Aid coupon from the circular, a manufacturer coupon from a newspaper (smart source, red plum or the internet) and a video value coupon (All pertaining to that item) and making sure that it doesn't exceed the value of the coupon.

        • guest

You can not use 3 coupons on any single item at anytime. you can use one manufacturer coupon and one Rite Aid coupon. Both a video values coupon and a coupon from the circular are considered Rite Aid coupons.

          • Ant0288

you must certainly can use all 3… its right in their coupon policy linked at the top of this page. says can use one manufacturers coupon, one 48 series rite aid coupon, and one 49 series rite aid coupon… (and theoretically if the one item was all you were buying and was over the 20 dollars, you could also use a 4 off 20 coupon… but i dont know how often that would be possible with that many coupons all for the same item)

            • Paige_Aminehdestin

Ant is more spot on than previous replies. *Technically* you're allowed 3 coupons per individual item, but it's rare that you'll actually have 3 for any item now that they've outlined the difference in the 3 accepted. Before they said to just accept a Man. coupon, in-ad coupon and VV coupon all for one item. That was causing some loss though because that's doubling up on one “type” of coupon. So it's spelled out more clearly now. You can use one Man. coupon (barcode starting with 5 or the occasional 9), one “Rite Aid/Manufacturer coupon” which includes most of the in-ad coupons AND VV coupons (barcode starting with RC49), then you could, in theory, also add a straight “Rite Aid” coupon which are called “valuable coupons” (barcode starts with RC48).So far, the only ones I've seen of this type though, are the bonus VV coupons (which are commonly not linked to just one item, but are total purchase coupons) and a couple in-ad but I think they've all been for Rite Aid brand items. The “5/9” coupons and “RC49” coupons get paid back by the manufacturer but if a third is added to be paid back, it breaks the terms of the coupon “not to be combined with any other offer” or what not. The store/man. coupons are set up like sales, and from what I gathered, are paid for by the man. to run in each store just like running a sale. That is why it's allowed to be stacked with a basic MQ.

    • Patricia Holder

Okay I am new at this. I see how to print some coupons above but then some items have a “m” for manufacture bu printable coupon. Does that mean there is no coupon or that we have to go to the manufacturer to get a coupon?

      • Courtney

if it has an M beside it without a print link there is usually the notion of SS or RP, standing for the 2 different inserts that come in sunday papers. SS for smartsource and RP for redplum, The number beside that is the date of the paper that insert was in.

    • Mel

The Nature Made Omega 3-6-9 also worked for me today for any of you whose store is out of stock on the other stuff. I got a $10 UP for the Healthy Heart deal and a $16 UP for buying $30 worth of Nature Made.

    • Nita Royal

ARGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! What should I do, if anything?

I know that people push the boundaries sometimes, with multiple cards, etc. And I don't put myself in the position of being the coupon police, but today I met someone bragging about his outright coupon fraud.

He began by bragging that he had gotten $2400 of merchandise at RA yesterday, for just over $4. With NC sales tax, that just didn't compute, so I asked him how.

He told me that he has found an Axe coupon for $5.99 that works on anything, and has bought thousands of them via internet. And that they have “profiled” and selected certain stores, cashiers, and managers, where he is allowed to use them with no limitations. I told him that this was obvious fraud, since he wasn't buying Axe, but he countered that certain store managers encourage it to boost sales. He even said that it was a call from a RA mgr in Roanoke Rapids, inviting him to the store, that spurred yesterday's 6 hour shopping spree. Said that he needed to move merchandise, as his back room was full, so they spent 6 hours clearing the store shelves, of anything EXCEPT Axe.

I questioned if the store could even get reimbursed, without having some sales numbers in line with the coupon usage, but got no answer. Obviously, someone is getting shafted here, besides the rest of us honest couponers who get treated like criminals!

This is so despicable, that I'd really like to do something, but don't know what. Except for the guy's name, and place of employment, I don't have any facts. And it's just his word on all of this. He also bragged that they have 6 cards, which is extreme enough, IMO. All I could think of to tell him was that I'm pretty sure that coupon fraud is a federal offense. And I've worked too long and hard to achieve my position at work to risk losing my job with a felony conviction just to get some free body wash! I asked him how his 4 little boys would be if Daddy went to jail over this, but he seemed very confident that there was no risk.

There's probably nothing I can do, but needed to vent on this one, because it was so despicable! (And to top if off, he said he sells most of the merchandise.) #*$&)@*#

      • Ashley

Wow, that is insane. You should probably just call up 1800RiteAid and let them know what you said here. Especially let them know it was a manager in Roanoke Rapids. Rite Aid does not want a manager like this working for their company, and they will come down on him in no time. Even without your help, it's very possible that this fraud will be discovered as it is. They will listen to your story on the phone, and a DM may call you back at some point but you will definitely have put the information where it needs to be, and I guarantee that they'll be investigating it once you call.

      • Jenni

You can report the coupon fraud both to Rite Aid corporate, as well as the manufacturer of Axe products, who sure as heck should be able to track this is you give them all the info that you have. Nail this fraudster. See if you can get a hold of some local media outlets, TV especially, and get them to investigate. And absolutely notify your local police. There was a raid just in the last year or two of one of the local “jockey lots” or flea markets where these criminals were selling things of this nature. So it IS something they try to prosecute if they can get good enough tops, and it sounds like you may be able to do just that. Turn your frustration into action!

        • Nita Royal

Of course, it occurs to me now that he probably reads this site, so might slash my car tires tomorrow! Perhaps this thread should be deleted, and I'll do the follow-ups recommended below.

Thanks, Morgan for the web sites – I wasn't aware of those before.

          • Morgan

You are very welcome. And as an fyi, both of those institutions will protect your identity if you ask them to.

      • Morgan

There is something you can do. Report him. www dot cents-off dot com is the Coupon Information Corporation (a non-profit that fights coupon fraud) and www dot ftc dot gov is the Federal Trade Commission.

PLEASE consider one or both of those options. Coming from a family that would not be able to buy groceries right now if not for coupons, I am fearful that people like him will prohibit people like us from getting good deals in the future.

      • Guest

Definitely call Rite Aid Corporate office and they will pull up those transactions, deactivate his cards and notify the store and all surrounding stores to be aware of this particular person. It happened in Georgia as well in the atlanta market where the gentleman here was doing coupon fraud and was contacted by the regional vice president banning him from Rite Aid.

      • meg

Yes please call 1800 Rite Aid. They well send out emails to all the stores informing them of this. Now Im not sure why in the world the FE CASHIER didnt put a stop to this. See I work for Rite Aid and if we pulled that kind of crap we would be fired. So please because there could be an inside person in that store. Plus you could get money for it. Because we do a bad apple thing and it works on customers and associates. Good Luck!

      • Paige_Aminehdestin

You should absolutely try and get a hold of someone higher up in the company. I'm assuming you're a cashier based on you saying you weren't going to risk your job to help him get free body wash, so call your the district manager, or even let the store manager at the store encourage the practice, know what you were told. Or, go straight to the top on this one, and go to the Loss Prevention manager for that store. Tell them the store that is doing it, and they can pull up the fraudulent transactions. I guarantee they've already been flagged for review, but with your help, it could speed up the process and get the bad apples weeded out. Plus, since the man is a wellness member, or six, after dealing with it at store level, I'm sure corporate could use the card numbers to track the thief (and that's exactly what he is) down and possibly go forward with criminal charges. If you're afraid to do something, email me, my email is in my name on here just drop the “Paige_” and add an @aol(dot)com. let me know the store info and I'll pass it to my LPM who can pass it along. There is absolutely something that can be done about it, and should be done quickly! The store who actually *ASKED* for it outright, needs an outright overhaul of their management staff, and retraining for the cashiers who have been taught that this is okay. I'd kind of like to keep my job as well, and a loss of $2400 in ONE day for ONE store, is a big hit for the company, and therefore every store, even down here in GA.

      • Paige_Aminehdestin

I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and passed the information along. Since I obviously don't know any more than what you posted, I basically just told them that there's a huge potential for coupon fraud to not only be happening, but being encouraged at stores in your area. It is being passed on to be looked in to, and that's all I was told. So, if this man wasn't just telling tales, hopefully it won't take too long to put an end to it.

      • Jenni

I told my local Rite Aid about this fraudulent coupon a few days ago, and they had just received a CIC fax warning them of this exact coupon, so hopefully a stop HAS been put to it, and all the guilty parties are going to be caught.

    • Wog703

Has anyone had trouble with the 100 watt lightbulbs not printing the Up reward? I purchased 3 packages, two were 60 watt and one was 100 watt. I only received two Up rewards, and I understand the limit is six so the only thing I can think of that went wrong is the 100 watt is not giving the Up reward. Did this happen to anyone else?

      • Guest

All of them are included…bought all of them and it works just fine in my store. Something must have just been a glitch…..you can either take it back and try it again or call the 1-800 Rite Aid number and they will send you a +up Reward

    • Wog703

Has anyone called corporated to see if we will get the full $1.99 credit towards our Winter Rewards purchases, or will it just be the .01 cents that has been coming up on our receipts? Thanks for letting me know.

    • ym

could someone tell me how they get the 20% additional discount at rite aid? Is is based on purchases or points?

      • Meg

Hi ok so I work at Rite Aid and here's how it works, once you start your wellness plus card you earn points. With not only merchandise but by your perscriptions. What I usually recommend to my customers is that you transfer your perscriptions to our phamacy and for each one you get 25 points. So your points build up faster. You also get points with just your everyday products. So no matter what use your card because I have some who come in and say well its not on sale don't worry about it. But still use it even if its not on sale, When you have 5 perscriptions youll have 125 points which means you get a one time 10% off disc then your next 125 you will get 2 10% off coupons to use. Then after that your next goal gets you 10% off everyday, Then you finally get 20% off everyday. I know dang it sounds long but honestly it doesnt take long. Within 2 months of having the program I had 3 customers get there 20% off. And one of them only buys wine and cigs most the time. :) Hope this helped.

      • DD

You get one point per dollar spent on merchandise. 25 points per prescription filled. When you reach 1000 points you gain a 20 percent discount. At 500 points you get 10 percent off name brands. You get 10 percent off Rite Aid brands from the start. You do not get the discount in addition to the sale price. You get the sale price or the discount. Whichever is more.

    • Courtney

Just called Riteaid Customer service about my receipt only showing .02 for the winter rewards. They said they were going to send it up to someone that could fix it for me and that it should hopefully be corrected on the next receipt.

    • Gamego71

Here is what I did today. 1 Nature Made Fish Oil 10.49 (9.44 with my 10% discount), 1 Nature Made CoQ10 39.99 (35.99). I got the 10 HH +up and the 16 Nature Made +up. Then I bought six of the light bulbs which came to 11.49. I used the 10 +up. I paid 1.94 oop and got 6 1.99 + ups. Then I bought 1 Centrum Silver Ultra Womens at 11.99 (10.79 with 10% off). I used 2.00 VV coupon and 2.00 M coupon. I came to 6.79. I used 3 1.99 +ups and paid .82 cents oop. I got the second $10 HH +up. After all that I am left with 31.97 in +ups. I spent a total of 5.19 + tax oop. I have $75.15 towards my $100 for the $20.00 reward.

    • Gamblesonsfarms

Anyone know how the KY deal is working out?

      • Gamblesonsfarms

Never mind. I found at the bottom of the comments that the Intense was not included in the deal.

        • becrec

it will work in a couple weeks…hang on to the Q's

    • Ginger

Does anyone know what the limit is on the Nature Made? I assume you can only get the heart health UP once, once you pass 50$. My hubs has to be very careful of his heart health, and those CoQ10 capsules are something we can really use. I'm wondering if anyone has gotten the UPs more than twice?

      • Spleanna

All you Feb have 6.00 off .

      • Islandboybpb

I did it twice yesterday and it printed both times. The second time the Up Reward says 2nd Healthy Heart Up Reward so not sure if there is a limit after that.

        • Ginger

Thanks! I did find where the limit on the Heart Health UP is 20$, so I guess the only way to find out about the 16$ WYB 30 Nature Made is to try again. I've only done once, will do second time today. (If I can find a store with more than one CoQ10.)

          • Asmith

It looks like a person on another site was able to get 2 16 UP with the fish oil.

      • DD

The sure way to know if there are any limits is to call 1800riteaid and ask.

    • Dianne N

Has anyone been able to get the page to load on Rite Aid's site that shows all the qualifying items for the Winter Rewards? Only the first page loads for me.

      • Ginger

I was able to get both pages, but that was a couple days ago.

      • Dawn

Erica has the list up over on her site too at Iheartriteaid (dot) com. I couldn't get it to load for me the other day so I just used the list over on the other site

        • Dianne N

    • Emmalou

Don’t forget to go to naturemade.com and register your product code for each item purchased. You will receive points for high dollor coupons or free items.

    • Fallaya

Does anyone else get dirty looks when you pay for your purchases with manufacturer coupons, VV coupons and +up rewards, making your OOP almost zero? I do sometimes. The cashiers make me feel like I'm stealing or something. I'm just trying to save some money.

      • JumpinJax

Is there another store location you can try? Our cashiers are very friendly and encouraging. They usually point out what a great job I did on my deals… (That's a perfect time to mention Southern Savers, especially when another shopper says something like “wow, that's incredible, how did you do that?”)
Don't let cranky cashiers bother you because you aren't doing anything wrong! There is actually a study out showing that people who use coupons have more self-esteem; they are able to maintain a good self-image regardless of what the cashier thinks.

      • Nita Royal

Oh yes, I've had worse than dirty looks….I've had cashiers openly complain, and say that they wish there was no such thing as coupons. But don't give up! My first trip to my local RA was a total nightmare: 40 minutes to check out, while the cashier argued about accepting my coupons. Then the head cashier. Then the manager – even with me showing them their own coupon policy. I was really new at couponing, and my heart was about to pound out of my chest. I really wanted to cry. But after a call to corporate, they tried everything, and it worked. So I decided I had worked too hard to give up.

After a few more visits, the cashier started to ask me how I did all of this. I decided to be friendly, instead of holding a grudge. Within 3 months, she had taken a class, and now she nearly cheers when I walk in the door! The whole staff is rooting me on, hoping for the lowest total possible ;-) And if anything doesn't work, like UPs printing, they give me a cash refund. Perseverance pays!

      • DD

I work for RA and I really hate to hear that you were treated that way. I apologize. Forget them. Its their problem. Youre not stealing. Youre providing job security for them. Even helping the economy!

      • Connieb03

No my cashiers usually think it's cool, and most tell me they do the same thing too! Guess I just have a great RA store near me!

      • katie

Yes, that does happen some (especially if I'm at a store where they don't know me), but here's something to remember–it's not you. There is a reason that so many cashiers hate coupons. And it's because there are SO many people out there that fraudulently use coupons and then on top of that are pure evil to cashiers when their coupons won't scan. As if that weren't enough, most cashiers also have managers on their case about coupons too.

If a cashier is giving you a rough time, be polite and be patient. Most of them are just probably on the defensive from evil couponers and managers that are down their throats to make sure that the company doesn't lose any money.

Keep your head up, be kind, and in time, your cashiers will know you are honest and that you aren't trying to rip them off.

      • guest

As an employee of Rite-Aid I apologize to you for their actions. Speak with the manager. After speaking with the new team I just started managing, I learned that most cashiers do not know that we are reimbursed for almost all coupons as long as they are used according to policy. The manager of your regular store should be able to rectify the problem. If not… change locations, but please understand that the majority of associates understand and truly appreciate your business!

    • DSinGA

I went to get the KY and found that it is not $9.99 each but buy one at $19.99 and get the second at 50%. Good news is that I got an additional video values coupon for -$3.00

    • melly

not sure if anyone has mentioned it but i know some folks were not getting credited the full amount of the lightbulbs towards the buy and save promotion but i went this morning and bought 4 pks and recieved $7.96 towards the promotion so hopefully they fixed the glitch. hopefully evryone else gets theirs straightened out :)

    • Fallaya

Keep an eye out for $1.00/3 Coke products coupons on the 2L bottles! I bought 4 tonight, used the $1 coupon, $2 VV coupon and 1 +up. Paid $2.52 and received 1+up.

      • Fallaya

        I meant I bought 4 2L bottles of Coke

    • Syndilew

Okay, I have a question about the NatureMade rebate. I thought that purchasing it this week at RiteAid would qualify me for this rebate because it said buy $30 worth of product and receive $5 but while filling it out it states that it should total $30 or more(after subtracting coupon and discount amounts and not including tax). Do you think that they will not allow me to have this rebate since I used a lot of coupons but still purchased $30 worth of product.

      • DD

They said 30 dollars after coupons so that means it has to add up to 30 dollars AFTER coupons. So if you picked up 30 bux worth of product and used even 1 buck worth of coupons that would make it 29 and you wouldnt get the rebate.

        • Paige_Aminehdestin

I've noticed a lot recently, that this is true. The fine print actually means what it states. Used to, rebates and such never held up to their fine print terms of service, especially since receipts don't always show what specific coupons were used for what items, but since companies like Nature Made do know the coupons that are out, they can use their discretion in determining that coupons were used to bring the total below that $30 needed to receive the rebate.

    • Connieb03

I finally made it to RA today and I bought $30 worth of NatureMade fish oil and it gave me the $16 UPs AND a $10 UPs for Healthy Heart. Didn't even know this was an UPS, so with all the Q's and UPs it became a money maker for me. Next I will submit for the $5 rebate from the company, so this will become a SUPER money maker!

      • Donna

See the post right below this one – it looks like the rebate is for $30 AFTER coupons and discounts, so if that's all the Nature Made items you've purchased, you won't qualify for the rebate. I doubled-checked the rebate form myself and it very clearly states that those are the terms.

The rebate is good for products purchased between 1/16 and 2/20, so there's time if you buy more over the next month to qualify.

Just wanted to give you a heads up!

        • Connieb03

Thanks! Actually I have another receipt from a different time I purchased too, so I should be ok.

    • michigangirl

I just watched my Video Values for February, and I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the new format. I feel like it's confusing…hard to even find where to sign in and sign out. What do you think? I know that RA usually puts alot of weight on what Southern Savers shoppers have to say. Maybe I'm just a more visual person–I don't always do very well with lists of words :)

      • Rhiannon353

I don't like it either, and I had a lot of trouble getting the videos to load since they're in a new window now. I have my pop-up blocker disabled, so I have no idea what's going on, but it was quite frustrating.

      • Donna

Once I figured out how to log in, I kind of liked it. I like how you can go to “all offers” and see the list – it was easier for me to find exactly what I wanted by brand name rather than going by categories.

I liked how the special rewards were separate and easy to find too.

I can see how it would be confusing to people though – it definitely took me a few minutes to figure it out, but once I did I think I like it. :)

      • Jclovecats

I think this new format must take more band width on internet connections…caused our WONDERFUL HUGHES NET connection to exceed our limit and knock us down to dial up speed for 24 hrs. UUGGGHHHH!!!! (I AM being facetious about the 'wonderful' part…we just don't have anything else available to us!)

    • Donna

I think I had my best RA trip ever tonight! I did the nature made and light bulbs deal:
      odorless fish oil = $11.99
      odorless fish oil = $11.99
      regular fish oil = $10.99
      GE light bulbs = $1.99
      GE light bulbs = $1.99

      total before coupons = $38.95
      – $4/20 bonus coupon
      – 2 x $3 RA nature made
      – 2 x $4 all you nature made
      – $3 nature made
      – $15 UP's

      final = $2.95 + tax
      got back $29.98 in UP's

      WOO HOO! :)

      final after coupons =

      • Donna

oops – didn't mean to make my post above so long!! :(

        final after coupons = $2.95 + tax
        got back $29.98 in UP's
have $38.95 towards the $100 to get the $20 winter reward too!

        • Dianne L

I didn't mind that it was so long. When posters put all their deals, coupons used, etc. in paragraph form, it's hard to see the deals they got and how. I was just coming online to see if anyone had posted NM prices. I was glad to see yours first up! Thanks!
