      ***PLEASE READ***

Hi ladies, I have a research paper due in my eng1101 class and it requires me to compare/contrast 5 newpapers from 5 different states. If anyone is interested in sending me their paper from tomorrow 7/25 please email me @ savvysingle@gmail.com

      thanks in advance

    • ASmith

Is there a limit to the amount of +UP items you can get? Ex. If I buy (2) of the Colgate toothpastes, will I get 2 coupons or only 1?

      • Bridget

You can only get one up+ reward for the same product per transaction (but you can get different up+ rewards in one transaction). You can get the same up+ reward more than once, as long as they are in different transactions. Unlike CVS, there does not seem to be a limit to how many of the same up+ you can get, you just cannot get them all in one order.

        • Janelle

Not to contradict, but now there is a limit. All the UP rewards will only generate once, even if done in separate transactions. They now are associated with the Wellness card and they keep track!!! I called corporate last week and all the computers are in the process of being changed over, and as of 8/1 that will be complete. So….no more duplicate UP rewards!! Bummer!!!

          • Astridholliman

Oh, that is so very sad.

            • grace

well, it might be sad but at times you go to Walgreens and you cannot find anything you need because people just buy, buy, buy even when they do not need that stuff, so I think it is okay to put a limit.

            • Livn4change

I think it's good to put a limit. I think sometimes people need to just take a deep breath and relax. They are paying you sometimes to buy stuff…it's still a good thing, they have every right to limit it IMHO.

            • Cas2756

I agree- there should be a reasonable limit set per customer. If you can’t make it to the store the first day of the ad many “great deals” are out of stock the entire week at our Rite Aid. But, also- Rite Aid and other drugstores would be making more money (i assume) if they ordered a large amount of sale items in advance. Win-win for everyone :)

          • Cas2756

I was confused this morning, we were almost out of diapers so I ran to rite aid since huggies jumbo packs are 8.99 through today. I bought 3 packs in one transaction so i could use my $5/$25- and then to my surprise the $2 UP reward for Huggies printed 3 times! so now I'm confused- is my store just having a computer glitch??? since I bought a pack of Huggies at the beginning of this ad I assumed I was no longer eligible for UP rewards on this product for the week.

            Can anyone clear this up?

            • Jessica

I was wondering the same thing. Today, I bought 3 packs of duracell batteries and the $1 UP reward printed out 3 times on my receipt.

          • Cas2756

sorry! didn't read that the change would be completed by next month :)

        • ASmith

Thanks! One more question…can you use as many +UP coupons as you want on the next transaction? I have 3 coupons that I want to use for this week's shopping trip.

          • Carolinagirl003

Yes you can use all 3 +UP coupons on 1 transaction as long as the coupons do not exceed your purchase amount.

            • Jenni

You also cannot use them to pay for tax.

        • Carolinagirl003

Yes please be careful with this because I have only been getting one +UP reward even if I do the items in seperate transactions. This can throw your whole shopping trip off and leave you paying much more than you expected.

      • Aminehdestin

The Colgate will be one per customer this week. We haven't received anything about any of the other sales/+Up items so they may print more than once, but Colgate you will only get one this week!

    • Eamccune

I am confused…does Rite Aid Accept expired video perk coupons?

      • kaseyshadow

The Video perks don't expire until the end of August. The video's will be different in the morning so you have to watch any video's you want coupons from today.

      • Ginaod2000

I am completely confussed as well. I just printed the coupons & they expire July 24…The coupons were for rembrant, stayfree, & stride gum. Am I missing something? Thanks so much!

        • Joniker65

These coupons are for videos watched in June. They do expire today, 7/24 so won't be good for this sale unless you have a store that will take an expired one. I don't have such luck. It seems like the video value q's used to go thru the end of the month but they seem to follow the SCR dates now.

          • Aminehdestin

They did go through the end of the month before, but they were also much more difficult for stores to remember to pull. We pulled everything tonight, and it was much easier to just get all the sings down at once, not most tonight and the VV signs next Saturday.

            • Joniker65

Thanks for that explanation! Makes sense to me, I couldn't imagine having to remember to pull all those tags. :-)

      • grace

no, they will not accept expired coupons, they refused to accept mine for something else

    • dizeigle

      Aveeno rebate has expired.

    • Unix_micki

I don't think the stayfree ra coupon will work with the sale, the sale is for 18-24 ct and the coupon says 28+ count??

      • MaryT

There’s a B1G1 coupon for ANY Stayfree in 6/27 RP which will make the 2 packages 50 cents each after the 2+UP on 2!

    • julies

wouldnt the $4 off 2 Nivea coupon work on the 1.99 nivea body wash making it FREE + $1 UP???

      • Virginia

I printed it and it was not for the body wash. :(

        • julies

its for ANY body product, would body wash not fall under that?? It even states the same size product or larger that the ad is for…

          • Alice

when someone does this tomorrow I want to know if the 4/2 works because that is the one I want to use otherwise Im not wasting my time.

            • Val

The $4 off 2 didn't work because the total is $3.98. The register beeped and they would not adjust the coupon (they said they could only adjust Rite Aid coupons). The $3 off 2 did work!

            • Devonsimmons

I did this 3 times today and it worked. Just make sure you are buying other items for the “overage” to go towards and the computer won't beep. Plus, you also will get (2) $1 +UP rewards for buying (2) bodywashes when using (1) $4/2 coupon. It was sweet! My cashier was even excited about that!

            • Alice

ooo I change my mind. Honestly I don’t understand why others didn’t think to use a filler. I didn’t even think to ask if they had cause I thought everyone knew to use a filler, I’m a noobie to this and I always do. But I am crazy terrified of making a scene so I always make things as easy as possible. Reason why I didn’t coupon for so long. I like smooth easy without my ears turning bright red…cause they do…when I am the center of attention lol.

            • Aminehdestin

Really fillers are against policy. The $4 coupon should just be adjusted down to $3.98 based on policy alone. We had 2 coupons tonight modified down, and when I was organizing to close, I blacked the bar codes out so that we’re sure not to get the $4 back and it’ll be entered as $3.98, which is what we took them for. I know people don’t like having coupons adjusted but corporate is very touchy with cashiers not following policy, and policy says each ITEM can’t go below $0, and coupons should be adjusted if it will take the total (for each item) below tax. I’m sure each state’s governor agrees, because that tax is paying his/her salary!

      • Jenni

What $4/2 coupon? Jenny lists a $3/2 coup. Is there a better one out?

        • julies

farther down under another nivea deal she has the $4 off 2

      • julies

it says $4 off ANY body product… wouldnt body wash count for that???

        • grace

no, their policy says that the coupon amount cannot be higher than the price of the product

    • Greersw

If you get $5. plus +up does that mean you will get $5. to use on anything and a up for that product or is the $5. to be used for a product like you have just bought

      • Carolinagirl003

You can use the $5 +UP reward on your next purchase as long as the purchase totals more than $5…..it does not have to be the same item you purchased to earn the +UP reward

        • Greersw

          thank you

    • Carolinagirl003

I love Rite Aid, but lately I have had a huge problem with them accepting any printed coupons….this includes the $5/$25 & $5/$20 Rite Aid coupons, the Rite Aid video value coupons, and printable manuf. internet coupons. The cashier says they are not scanning because they are too dark, but even when my printer is almost out of ink they still say they are too dark. Anyway she ends up saying she cannnot accept the coupons because they will not scan and they are no longer able to manually enter them to accept them. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much.

      • Astridholliman

I've had almost no problems with coupons at Rite Aid. And I've had them manually enter a coupon as recently as last week. The cashier did need store manager approval, but no problems. Could you go to a different store?

        • Carolinagirl003

Yeah there is another Rite Aid here I will try that and see how it works.

          • guest

I find that my internet coupons scan better if I print them in black and white and set for draft or black ink only. The bar code is much clearer this way.

      • Guest

I do not go to rite aid because of this problem too….they always complain about my printables and say that if they don't scan they won't accept them. They said it is against their policy to key them in.(the location in south congaree near west cola, sc is the worst.) It just isn't worth my time or trouble to shop there and explain how to use coupons to them. I'll stick to CVS…they NEVER complain.

        • nic

If mine dont scan they just get a manager override

    • Karenleto1

are there anymore senarios? I have a hard time figuring this out

      • Livn4change

        Here is my tentative scenario:

        Colgate $2.99
        (2) Nivea men's bodywash $3.98
        (2) Kellogg's Cereal $3.98
        Dove Chocolate $2.99
        Hershey's Bliss Chocolate $2.99
        Reach Toothbrush $3.99
        Total: $20.92

        Use:
        -$5/20 VV coupon
        -$1 Colgate coupon
        -$3/2 Nivea Bodywash
        -$1/2 Kelloggs
        -$1 Dove
        -$.50 Dove VV coupon
        -$1 Hershey's Bliss VV coupon
        -$1 Reach coupons
        -(2) $1 +UP rewards (from last week)

        Total after coupons $5.42
        receive $8 +UP ($3 colgate, $1 Nivea, $1 Kelloggs, $1 Dove, $1 Hershey's Bliss, $1 Reach), $2.99 SCR

        • Sonia

look for the Hershey's BLiss coupon…it's 4/25 SS so you save another $1.

          • Livn4change

Thanks, I never get the candy coupons though :( Not sure why. Either way I was so excited to see the great chocolate deals this week…couldn't believe they weren't posted here! But, I guess everyone's not a chocaholic like me! lol.

      • Jessica

If you post a few of the things you are interested in buying, we could probably help you make a scenario.

    • guest

Looks like the aveeno video coupon expires today or is there another video coupon? I cant find the rembrandt video coupon.

    • Livn4change

I just went to finish up my Duracell Scr (I had $19.96 and it didn't work so I had to buy one more). I got next week's price (the 50% off, $4.49) but I still got the $1 +UP from this week as well! And, there are some packages with a $1 off coupon attached so look for those!

    • Meredith Shamis

      http://bit.ly/4v9ade

Go to this link to get a free 3in1 Purex dryer sheet sample.

    • Livn4change

There are some coupons for some of the candy.

      $1 +UP wyb Hershey's Bliss at $2.99
-$1 Rite Aid VV coupon (make sure you watch video TODAY, exp. 8/28)
      makes it $.99!

      $1 +UP wyb Dove Chocolate
-$1 if you printed the IP that was available, I think it might be gone now
-$1 manufacturer Q from an issue of Reinventing Beauty (is a manufacturer Q)
-$.50 Rite Aid VV coupon (watch video TODAY, exp. 8/28)
      -use both, makes it $.49

There is also a $1 off whitman's sampler (can't remember what insert it was from and the HCW is being weird for me right now)

There is also a $.50 off glad trashbags Rite Aid VV coupon available right now.

      • Sonia

there was also a hershey bliss $1 off on a bag in one of the coupon inserts so “FREE” of course I can't remember which insert

        • Val

There is one in the SS 4/25. It expires tomorrow!

          • RebeccaFer

Yup, I was gonna say that too. If you want free chocolate, you gotta get it tomorrow! :D

        • Livn4change

I never get the candy coupons in my inserts :(

    • Lvholley

Does anyone know where the Aveeno RA coupon is? I don't see it in my adperks coupons?

      • guest

The only one i have found expires today. Same with the rembrandt toothpaste. that would have been a $ maker combined with the $3 manufactures coupon.

        • LL

There's a new $2 off any rembrant product on the August video values. thanks for the tip though! wouldn't have looked for it under VV except for your post.

          • 3monkeysmom

The only one I could find on the Aug video values was only for $1.

    • Jeri

I am new to the Rite Aid program. What is 1+ UP?

      • Lrae17

Hi Jeri….This is part of their rewards. Each week Rite Aid offers +UP rewards with various products. The number before the +UP is the dollar value it represents. When you buy that item it will print on the bottom of your receipt the +UP rewards you received. Then you can use that like real cash and pay for other items in the store. For example, the first +UP reward listed above is for a Colgate product and if you buy one of those products you will get $3 +UPs printed on your receipt, which you can then have them scan on your very next purchase to take off $3.00. Just be sure to watch the date on the receipt so use them before they expire. Hope this helps.

        • Jeri

Thanks so much for explaining this! So it pretty much works just like the CVS extra care bucks.

    • Lrae17

Question about +UPs: Is it true you can only get the offered +UPs once per item? For example, I bought 2 Zegerids this past week, but on different days. The second time the +UPs didn't print and they told me it was because I already bought one earlier in the week. OK, I can sort of understand if they limit it, but then I wanted to return it and they told me I couldn't get back the 3 +UPs I used to help pay for it because they already scanned them in. Should I just chalk it up to a learning experience?

      • guest

you need to call the 1-800 # and tell them that the up didnt print out. it didnt say anywhere where it was to be one per card. this happened to me. rite aid said that they would send me the $7 up. i will wait and see. hopefully so.

      • guest

I called 1-800-RiteAid and the guy told me that as of right now there is no limit on how many deals you get. He said they will be setting limits in August but that for now the UP rewards should be printing. I didn't get a $7 reward on my second transaction of Zegrid and he told me he would mail it to me.

      • Lrae17

Thank you! I'll to call RA on Monday.

      • Aminehdestin

Right now, it seems to only be when you use an in-ad coupon and your wellness card that the second +Up doesn't print. We were told that the Colgate will only print once this week, but it's being reported that it does print multiple times. The Zegerid and Motrin PM last week, both had in-ad coupons as part of the sale, and both had +Ups attached. BUT the coupons do say “one per customer” so that's all we could figure in our store.

    • Tonyleetonylee2000

Thanks for the great work. But the aveeno rebate ended 7/18, so it should not be there.

    • Aminehdestin

Just a heads up, the Colgate deal this week is one per customer! We have signs printed for the shelves that you can only get 1 +Up for the item all week. That's the only one we were told about, so at least there ahead one this week b/c we never heard anything on the Zegerid.

    • ScottK

I went to RA today and got some of the Jack's Links beef jerkey reg $6.49 (ridiculous) on sale for $2.99 then a $1 +UP making it $1.99. To my joy there were some $1 off stickies on them. However I went and bought 4 of them then used $5 off, then my card, then 4 $1 off coupons, making it 96 cents.

Here's the thing, it printed 4 $1 rewards. I think based on the other comments, any item that is “free” after reward is limit one now, but any item that is just a small amount back in unlimited. Either way, I got a great deal today!

    • Shirley

Don't forget that any oral product you purchase (esp. the Colgate $3 get 3+UP) will go towards the new Oral care SCR #560 – buy $15 any oral care, get $5 GC / buy $25 any oral care, get $10 GC (limit 1), so make sure you enter those receipts for the SCR deal too.

      Potential scenario:
      #1:
      Buy (1) Colgate $3
      Use (1) -$1 off coupon
      OOP: $2, Get $3 +UP
      #2:
      Buy (1) Colgate $3 + (1) Nivea Men BW $1.99
      Use (1) -$1 off Colgate coupon + (1) -$1 off Nivea coupon + $3+UP Colgate
OOP: Just tax, Get $3 +UP Colgate and $1 +UP Nivea
(Repeat #2 for 7 more times to get to $27 so you get the $10 GC.)

      Final:
OOP: The first $2 plus all the tax
      Remaining +UP: 1x 3+UP Colgate, 8x 1+UP Nivea = $11+UP
      Get: $10 GC
Profit: $18, 9x Colgate tp and 8 Nivea men BW

      • Shirley

BTW, big heads up, I just remembered that the Colgate deal may not produce the +UP like the Zegerid problem, so BEWARE, this may not work. Probably won't, I guess.

        • AmyC

Zegrid listed one per household and required the wellness card. Others don't have a limit and work just fine. I purchased a lot of oxy clean on the same receipt and had not problem. There was no limit listed!

      • Livn4change

Also, the oral care rebate states that it is for actual price paid, after any and all coupons.

        • PVW

It said the same thing last week on the 25 gift card on 50 of skin care products, but when I entered my receipts, it took the original price and did not subtract the coupons. I was nearing my 50 purchase over a couple of transactions and I asked my Rite Aid rep Ethan and he told me to go home and check to make sure I didn't miss out. I logged on to SCR's and it told me I had spent 48.89 and only had to spend a couple dollars to reach the 50. He was wonderful. Also, Carol at my Rite Aid said she thought everyone should use the coupons, that it didn't cost the store a dime.

      • Ashley

I did not think you could get the Colgate $3 UP but once with your wellness card?

        • Sgesselrn

actually i have gotten 3 today

    • KNC

can't get the 5 off 25 link at the top to work. anyone else have the same problem?

    • I went to my rite aid for the first time last week. It was horrible. I spent a bunch of time in the store getting all the items in my scenario and when I got to the register the manager stood next to the cashier and made sure all my coupons were not fake! He tried to make me feel like I was doing soemthing wrong. It was horrible. He wouldn't except any of my printables and said that they no longer take the video value coupons along with a manufacturer Q. He also told me I was not aloud to use more than one +Up reward on my next trans. I just walked out. Has anyone had this problem? He was really rude.

      • Peggyhumphrey

Tha's aweful. I had something like that happen at CVS last week. The manager was standing near the register and noticed that I was doing several transactions and came over to watch. When I got to the Pull Ups and paid $0.17 he had to check back through everything. I'm not a criminal trying to steal the items. I had to explain to him that they would get reimbursed by the manufaturer. He was less than thrilled with me. I really think that every manager should be trained in how to use coupons. These stores use these ads to get us in the door, and I would like to be treated like a good customer instead of a criminal. My advise to you is try another store,

        • Thanks for the advice and I will call!! He was so rude he told me if I wanted to coupon I should go to CVS and see the manager over there. When I told him that I know the manager at CVS and he is always helpful he told me he was going to get fired for using coupons wrong!! I could not believe it! I was shocked at such child like behavior. I do have another rite aid up the road. I may try there!!

          • Amy

I have two Rite Aid stores near me. I hate going to one because they don't allow me to use a Rite Aid Q with a manufacturer Q, and the manager always comes up to the register when he sees me checking out to make sure I don't do anything “illegal.” The other store pretty much allows anything, and the cashiers and managers are always so nice. The problem is that I think everyone has the same problem at the “bad” one so the “good” one never has anything in stock! I had to go to the bad one last week to get the free deals because the good one had nothing. It's so frustrating.

      • Karol

Just find another rite aid! There is 1 in Salisbury that I hate! They act like you are horrible if you use coupons and always give me trouble. I have called corprate on them more than once and everytime I have been told they are wrong! Finally I got tired of the harrasment and just quit shopping there. But other than that 1 store I never have any problems and I use 10 different stores. Sadly it just depends on the people running the store. However with the up rewards most of them won't let you use but 1 in a transaction it even says 1 per transaction on the reward.

      • Dtetuan

You should call 1-800-riteaid and complain. Let them know the store and the manager. They'll get a message to the district manager to straighten them out. I had the same problem and the manager called me and apologized.

      • grace

yes, I had the same exact problem, they refused to accept my manufacturer's Q and the in-ad coupon, they told me to choose one, I called the 1-800-RITEAID number, and they called me back and told me that was their mistake, apologized too and like Dtetuan said, I am finding another Rite Aid, this one has given me problems before refusing to accept my John Frieda 10 up rewards.

    • Peggyhumphrey

I just started “Rite-Aiding It” 3 weeks ago. I have been couponing for a very long time, and thought that I would expand myself to SCR's. The thought of the store paying me to shop there is awesome. However, I can't seem to find the dates for the beginning of August's SCR period. Should I submit for my July SCR now? Is July's period over now? Should I wait till the 1st of Aug? Please help

      • Karol

I love rite aid they are awesome. You would not believe how much money you can make shopping at rite aid! Not to mention all the free stuff you get. The Aug rebates started 7/23 and go through 8/28 so yes it is safe to request your July check just make sure you submitted all your receipts because once you request the check you can't add any more. Every rit eaid should have a monthly rebate book at the front of the store so pick one up and it tells you what dates the rebates run. If not you can also look on line where you submit your receipts just look under view offers and it also has the dates. Hope this helps.

      • Jessdare101

July is over. Go to rite aid website click on single check rebate and it will tell you the date of aug.

    • Myracash66

Is the prevacid for $19.99 a sale price or regular price. I can't find it any ads and want to make sure I have this all worked out BEFORE I get to the store. Thanks!

    • Mdeberry

The Wellness $1.00 refund for the fritos is on the purchase of two not one and the same on the ice cream. You must purchase 2 in order to get the $1.00 Wellness refund.

    • Reymannkids

Does anyone know if there is a limit on the UP rewards? For example: if I buy 4 poptarts, will I get $2 in UP rewards or still just $1? Thanks for your help.

      • Val

Some have limits, some don't. It's really a mystery until you buy the product. Check the message boards here and you'll generally learn what does and doesn't. There is a rumor that starting August 1st it's only one deal per person though.

    • Val

I just got back from Rite Aid and purchased some Nivea. I tried to use the coupon for $4/2 and the register beeped. I was told they could only adjust Rite Aid coupons so they couldn't accept it ($3.98 was total). However the $3/2 did work and 2 $1 up Rewards printed on my receipt. Definitely a great deal!

      • Alice

Thanks Val this is all I needed to know now I don't have to waste my time if it was free free yes but not worth it since I have a decent mini stock for my husband.

      • Aminehdestin

This will vary by store. We aren't supposed to modify down manufacturers coupons, but we can if it's necessary. We accepted the $4 coupon tonight, and I used it as well. I marked through the bar codes with a Sharpie when I was doing the registers tonight, so it'll have to be manually entered when they sort the coupons at the end of the week. Technically though, RA coupons are what we're supposed to modify down b/c they don't get paid back. So whenever stacking coupons, the RA should always be last so it can be adjusted if it's going under tax. If you're only using one of the $4 coupons, most stores won't give you any trouble with it.

      • Razlmz

You should have just thrown in a filler item to bring up your total. That would have done the trick!

    • Amy C

I know that most rite aid's are not like this but at my rite aid:

They will honor ALL CVS coupons.
They allow stacking of the 5/25 video values with a 5/25 coupon.

So many weeks I use a 5/30 CVS, 5/25, and 5/20 video values on the same $30 purchase. I have asked 4 different managers at the store over the past few months, and they all say it is ok.

With this they also allow a CVS, a Rite aid, manufacture, and in-ad coupon on the same item.

Check with yours…to see if they honor any competitor coupons. Ours lost a lot of business when CVS opened up across the street earlier this year. They have signs posted on every door saying they honor ALL CVS coupons. I don't expect this to last long, but am enjoying it!

      • Kasey Elisabeth

That's awesome!! Which Rite-Aid do you shop at? :) I live in Columbia, SC. Thanks!!

      • Guest

Your store must be pretty desperate for customers b/c that is definitely not allowed by Rite-Aid corporate policy. First off Rite-Aids generally do not accept competitor's coupons for anything. Secondly they are not supposed to allow multiple $/$$ coupons to be stacked in the same order the way that you describe. They take a direct loss every time they accept a CVS coupon b/c they will not get reimbursed for another store's coupons, so most stores would never allow this type of thing. You are really really lucky that they are in such serious direct competition with the store across the road. Enjoy these perks while you can, b/c they may not last…

    • 3monkeysmom

Has anyone noticed the bonus coupon on AdPerks (the one you have to watch 20 credits worth to get) is a $5 off $25 and not a $5 off $20?? Wonder why they changed it…they also changed the layout of the whole site….I am not a fan :-(

Also, regarding the Purex deal, I think the math is wrong. $1 UP when you buy 2 at $3, minus (2) $1 coupons= $1.50 a piece :-)

      • Livn4change

Yeah, that stinks…I'm going to miss the $5/$20 coupon.

        • kaseyshadow

I noticed that too. When I used it yesterday it showed up as a $5/$20 on my reciept. Maybe scanning the same even if the print is different.

    • keb2009

anyone else find the drain cleaner bogo?

    • Vachell

i went to rite aid on yesterday to get the clorox wipes and there was no more i asked for a rain check a the clerk told me they no longer give rain checks as of yesterday 07/24/10 because corporate said that they were loseing money have anyone heard of this thanks

      • Aminehdestin

We haven't been told that at my store. We aren't supposed to do written rain checks anymore, but there's software on the registers to print rain checks, and that's less than a year old. I doubt they've decided that it's obsolete already. Besides, rain checks don't lose money for a store any more than the sell would. That's weird. We were told some time ago to limit rain checks. One or two tops.

What happened to yesterdays deal scenario for Rite Aid?? I printed last night, got the items today and am trying to figure out where the 5.99 rebate was coming from but Jenny has an entirely new scenarion??????

      • Livn4change

Yes, I see that she changed her scenario! Sorry about that, I'm looking at the old one though and the rebates were here:

        $2.99–Listerine
        $3–Sea Breeze

        Hope that helps!

        • abein

Thank you Livn4change for the help, I appreciate it.

    • Tcorvin2

There is a coupon for Stayfree B1G1 in the RP 6/27 issue (exires 8/31), which should make them $.50 each after +UP rewards.

    • Valerie

Went to the Newberry, SC. Rite Aid to get a few of the deals and they were all gone. Either someone bought all of them or they don't stock any on the shelves. This makes 3 weeks in a row I haven't been able to get any of the deals.

      • Melody

Valerie, did you ask about this?? The Rite Aid in Chapin says they get a shipment in every Thursday. It might benefit you to try back on Thursday or even ask an associate when they will be getting the items you want in. PLUS get a rain check!! The associates/managers in both stores are super nice and helpful.

        • Valerie

I actually went to the store in Chapin this morning and was able to get everything on my list. The manager stated that there are people that are at the RA in Newberry before the doors open so they can get the deals and a few “scope the store out on Saturday night.” I'm new to this area so wish I could know who these savy women are so I can meet with them. We have something in common. lol

    • Andybreuker

can anyone clarify the 10.99 rebate Jenny listed in her scenario? At first I thought it meant a full manufacturer rebate on the Gillette Fushio Proglide, as that was my purchase price today. However, the yellow tag on the product holder in store stated $5 rebate. Can someone shed light on this? I did use the $4 coupon and see this product generates $5 in SCR, leaving OOP as $1.99.

      • Michelle

Rite Aid offers SCRs or single check rebates on certain items. For Jenny's scenario, you earn a $3 SCR for Sea Breeze, $2.99 SCR for Listerine Pocketpacks, and $5 SCR for the Gillette razor for total of $10.99. To obtain the Single Check Rebate you sign up online with RiteAid and input each of your receipts. The system knows which rebates you qualify for. You then request a rebate check which Rite Aid will mail to you.

They also have the UP program which is basically Rite Aid bucks…in this scenario you get 3 UP for Colgate, 1 UP for Nivea, 1 UP for the Listerine and 2 UP for Haagen Daz…which print out on the receipt and you can use on your next purchase. HTH!

      • Pwmr69

i think the $10.99 rebate is a total of her rebates…$5 for the razor, $2.99 for the reach, and $3 for the sea breeze totaling $10.99

    • Pwmr69

the aveeno rebate is $10 off $25 and it says products must be purchased by 7/18/10. anyone know where the one is that jenny is talking about?

      • dizeigle

I think Jenny made a mistake.

    • Michelle

I got some UP rewards this morning, and when I tried to use them this evening, they beeped and wouldn't go through. Did that happen to anyone else?

      • Daniel

Yep. Happened to me at 2 different stores. I just paid for my items at the first store because I knew I'd have another chance to use them. The manager at the second one pushed it through. Not sure what went wrong, but I am glad they are printing multiple times. I bought 5 Nivea body washes today and got 1+UP on each, 2 colgate and got 3+ UP each, 2 Rembrandt and got 2+Up each. Since they are rite aid receipt +UPs I don't think you should have trouble using them even if they dont scan. The manager should be able to override it.

        • Michelle

They wouldn't/didn't push them through for me, and I'm afraid that they won't scan later since she tried to scan them tonight. Oh, well. RA is still trying to work out the kinks. It'll be okay.

          Thanks for your response, Daniel!

          • Livn4change

I heard they'll beep if it's a different card. And, they won't scan if they've been scanned before. I had one that it wouldn't take because I needed like $.02 more cents in my subtotal. Then she tried scanning again and it wouldn't take it even though it didn't take it the first time, it had already been scanned. weird. Anyway, she had to manually enter it. I bet you'd have a hard time getting them to take it the next time when their register is telling them it has already been scanned.

Did the cashier tell you the message she got when it beeped? Did she offer any explanation as to why it wouldn't accept them?

        • Aminehdestin

You got more than one Colgate +Up? We got sent something to print and place on the shelves saying that it will be limited to one per customer. I bought one tonight, I may have to see what happens if I try to buy one tomorrow…

          • Chrystalm

I bought 2 today. The note says 1 per transaction. As long as you do seperate transactions you should be fine.

            • Aminehdestin

We were actually talking about this tonight. It was a corporate decision to limit, but instead of *actually* limiting, they just want the cashiers to do it. They don't want the same thing that happened the first few weeks with the toothbrushes being sold out in basically every store, then being on sale the following week w/no product the first day, to happen again. We're having to limit the toothpaste to one per customer not just transaction b/c we're already really low. Our customers luckily know that they can come back the next day and buy another or go to one of the other 46 stores within a few miles and get more if they want it. I'm thankful we don't seem to have much trouble with our regulars being upset with limits. Irritated that something that really can upset customers is being left up to the cashiers to handle though.

            • Livn4change

Yeah, that's not right for them to leave it up to the cashiers. It sounds like RA corporate aren't very good for the cashiers because they tell the customers what they want to hear and then make the cashiers be the “bad guy” and take the brunt of the customers being angry when it doesn't work the way they expect. Kind of puts you (the cashier) between a rock and a hard place.

            • Chrystalm

I understand what your saying and I get your point. But the sign in the store on the product says 1 per transaction.

      • Ashley

Yes, I had about 5 that wouldnt go through today but the cashier put it through thank goodness.

    • Rachel

Anyone know if the 10% off coupon from hitting the Wellness points level is only for non-sale items? I had heard it was and that's why I haven't bothered to use mine, and it's about to expire.

      • Val

The register takes the better of the two (either the 10% or the sale)

      • Nancy

Yes, as far as I know it is not good on sale items. And the everyday 10% and 20% off is not good on sale items either. I went into RA over the weekend and asked a manager about this and he treated me like I was crap.

      • Aminehdestin

It is only for non-sale items. I've told customers as the accumulate the points, it's like getting the employee discount, you'll get the better of the sale or the discount. It's going to be best to use it if you need stuff that normally doesn't go on sale, like milk. Or on items with in-ad coupons. A lot of the hair color sales aren't great right away, what makes them good sales is the in-ad coupon. Example, there's one this week reg. price is $13.99 but it's on sale for $12.99 and there's a $2 in-ad coupon. It's a slight difference but still worth taking a look at what you may buy, the 10% would actually make it better than the advertised sale b/c you'd only pay $10.59. It really does work better than that though but that's the best example I have this week. The skin care coupons a few weeks ago, it was like Aveeno, Clean and Clear etc, they were all reg. price but you had the $3 coupon. Use the 10% then b/c then you save more than just that coupon.

    • Rachel

BTW the new VV coupons go with this ad. I used $1 off Listerine, $1 off Rembrandt, and $1 off One A Day yesterday.

    • Livn4change

There is now a $1/1 raisin bran IP.

      • Eamccune

        where is this one?

    • Ps59

there is a printable Listerine coupon at listerine.com

    • savysaver

Is the VV $5 off $20 gone? I only see where I can get $5 off $25 for viewing 20 segments, which we can print anywhere right now…so why bother watching and wasting time unless there is a coupon I need.

    • Jennifer

There were BOGO Head and Shoulders coupons a few weeks back, don't remember which insert. Pretty decent deal. My cashier took off the $5.99 for each one then I still got $1 +UP for each. $7.98 for 4 of the large bottles, regularly $7.29 each, not bad.

They also have Aveeno sunscreen 50% and with the $5 off from the Aveeno site, it made them $0.59 each. I found them in the clearance section, not with the sunscreen.

      • Lrae17

Jennifer, I think I have that coupon, but I was wondering if it was worth it because the total value for refund from the manf. to the store was under $5. Did they say anything about that?

    • dani

Are the +UP rewards like CVS ECB? I do not normally shop at rite-aid, but will if they are. Thanks for any help you can give me clarifying this.

      • Jenn

Yes, Dani. They are just like ECBs.

    • Rodger

Last week I ran into a problem with the Zegrid and the $7.00 UP reward. I purchased 5 products (each a single transaction) & only received 2 of the $7 UP rewards. I asked the mgr. and he said he would send an email to corp to find out and give me a call. He did call back and I was told there was a limit of 1 per customer. While he offered a refund, I would rather have the $7 UP's. I called corp C/S today and they told me the same thing – some items are limited 1 per customer. Has anyone else run into this type of situation?

      • ASmith

I was told the same thing on the Mortin PM but it looks like some people were told they would be mailed the Zegrid on other post.

      • Livn4change

You're lucky that you received 2. Most people only received 1.

      • Lrae17

Wow….corporate told me the opposite…that there was no limit and its a glitch in the system they're working on. They're sending me $7+UP for my second Zegerid purchase that didn't print on the receipt.

    • Jenn

On the last paige of the add, “ONLY $1.00 EACH” – Soft soap $0.70 off from this week's paper and Rolaids $1.00 off from 6/6 SS. So, you get hand soap for $0.30 and Rolaids for free! (no limits for these!)

      • Teaguewoman

did you try it yet? the rolaids will probably work, but the coupon for softscoap is 8.5 oz and up and the sale is only for the 7.5 oz soap. just wanted to see what happened if you went :)

        • Teaguewoman

          i meant softsoap!

    • mike

use the $4/2 coupon for the nivea body wash and you get them free plus a $1 of up bucks.- make sure you get your 5 for 25 in before you give them your coupons

I have a coupon for a free Digirnio Deep Dish Pizza that expires 7/31. Does anyone know where I can find one?

      • I looked for a long time, and I was looking in the wrong place in the freezer case. It is a personal deep dish pizza and is found with the snack size pizzas. I found mine at Food Lion, but I am sure if I had looked in Kroger, it would have been there.

        • Karen

We don't have a Kroger, but I will try to find it in a different place at Publix. Thanks

      • Livn4change

I got mine at Kroger. I haven't been able to find the Kraft Homestyle mac & cheese (which I also have a free coupon for)

HELP! My church is needing a 1000 bottles of bottled water for a community day, does anyone know where the best place is to purchase this many? I'd like to be able to do a few “deals” on it and get ECB or RR's back to save on purchasing other items we will need?

      • kaseyshadow

If you are buying that many I'd call and see if they can “cut” you a deal. IGA donated part of the water to the school for our field day. They got free advertisment (It was IGA brand) and a tax write off.

Has anyone received their skin care gift cards yet (from last month)? I requested mine on 7/5 and have yet to receive it…

      • hoday

No. I got my SCR check this weekend but haven't seen my skin care gift cards yet.

      • Aminehdestin

I requested mine on the 28th and got them both in the mail this week (Monday). You should probably get yours soon. Gift cards from SCR take a little longer than the checks. Any time there's a Visa gift card available as a rebate, those seem to take even longer. It took me 6 months to get one. I've asked about it to corporate before and those take extra time sometimes because Rite Aid actually runs OUT of the gift cards that whichever company gave them (P&G etc). Anyway, you should get an envelope with the two gift cards in it any day now since you requested on the 5h. If you don't see it by Monday, send them an email to see if there's a delay of some sort just so you know a good timeline!

      • MaryT

I had requested my gift cards early in June shortly after I fulfilled the requirements and ended up getting my rebate check first. I waited until mid July before calling RA headquarters. They looked it up and told me it would be released “soon” — I received the cards about a week later. Personally, I think there was a glitch and that I would not have received them had I not called. Just something about how fast they came after I called. Never hurts to ask!

      • I just got mine about a week ago and I'd requested mid June. They really do come. :) Good luck!

THere is a video value coupon for brawny paper towels $1 off.

    • Shawna

Can someone tell me if you can use a Video Value coupon with a Manu. Coupon on one item? I have heard so many different stories regarding Rite Aid policy about this. Some say that you cannot b/c they both say Manufacturer, but then some say you can because the Video Value coupon as the Rite Aid logo. Thanks!

      • hoday

        Hi Shawna,
There is no doubt about it – you CAN stack the video value coupons with a manufacturer's coupon. It has nothing to do with the Rite Aid logo being on the coupon, but the UPC numbers below the bar code. Any Rite Aid Coupon (Video Value or In-ad) beginning with RA or RC in the UPC will stack with a manufacturer's Q. Happy Stacking!

        • Shawna

Thank you so much! I will be going there tomorrow and hopefully, there won't be drama.

      • Asmith

I have had this problem with one cashier and I called 1 800 rite aid and they said the cashier was wrong that video values can be stacked and to call 1 800 rite aid from the store and they would be happy to speak with cashier.

    • Michelle

just loves it when i walk into rite aid with coupons in hand and a great scenario…and they're out of everything!!

      • happy

They do rainchecks that are good for 30 days, and if that makes you miss out. My local rite aid manager even let me pay for the SCR item last month when they didn't have it in stock so I didn't miss the cutoff date and wrote “already paid” on my rain check. I was able to submit my receipt for the SCR no problem.

      • rebecca

im right there with you… not one bottle of nivea mens left on the shelf in all three rite aids around me. this sux

      • Niki

I agree i went to the store no nivea, no rolaids, no ace and no rembrandt…rite aid is frustating me! its 3rd time in a row no deals for me!

        • Kerry

I went to the store on Saturday just to get a random item but knowing what was on sale on Sunday I scanned the aisles. They only stocked 4 max on each type of Nivea and about the same on a few other sale items. I went early on Sunday and got my bottle of Nivea but all the stores are empty of it now. I don't understand why they don't stock more for sale items.

      • Awidener429

It is best to hit the stores on the 1st or 2nd day of the sale b/c I have learned that all of these great deals are gone within a day or so.

    • Renee

    • Joanne

Just want to put out there for all those going after the tooth paste 3 up rewards, today Rite Aid put out a “in store” memo stating that it was only allowing one 3 up rewards per transaction. I found this out after fighting it out with a manager. He did give me the rewards but then promptly walked back and signed it with memo. When I asked him about the situation he said they have many that “take advantage” of such sales. Of course he was probably speaking of me as I walked out the door with 5 boxes of colgate, 10 nivea and a few other things, but heck I only paid 3.20 for it all so whatever.

      • couponing mommy

I'm confused. Aren't you only allowed to do one up reward for a product per transaction anyway….ie. 1 colgate, 1 toothbrush, etc. ?? I thought that if you did more than 1 in a transaction that you would only get 1 up reward and not 2.

        • Sdavisva

That's what I thought, also. However, yesterday I received one UP for each item I bought (4 body wash and 2 toothbrushes). I just figure they're still trying to figure out how they want to apply the UP program. At this rate, I don't see how they could sustain it at the current level (without putting limits on quantities).

      • Awidener429

Joanne, I understand what you are saying but me as a Rite Aid manager would not have let you do all of them b/c on the back of our sales ad it does say “We reserve the right to limit quantities except where prohibited by law(Idaho)” Now don't get me wrong but my limit would have only been about 3, so it just depends on the manager, what kind of mood he/she is in and how they are treated by the customer.

    • Kristen B

Help! Rite Aid confuses me!! I have CVS down to a science, but I want to learn how to do Rite Aid the right way. What is the difference between SCR and +UP rewards? SCR are rebates that total up throughout the month and then you get a check at the end of the month? I have no idea what the +UP rewards are. Are they like ECBs at CVS?

      • Nancy

Yes, they are exactly like the ECB's.

      • Angela

Yes- they are like ECB's but they do expire quicker. I think it is two weeks after they print out on your receipt.

    • Jay

Need Help Please , I can't print redplumb coupons I tried different browers, and printing direct to printer.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My rite-aid normal duracell and other single check rebates, along with my scr 555 are not clearing up and it is taking forever. It has been more than 6 days for the normal scrs. and for, the online order, it has been since the 17th…

What do I do? I faxed a request to special services regarding 555, but not response expect that they received the fax. What about my other rebates? Is anyone else seeing the same problem? What is happening with their rebate system? Does it take forever now?

      • Kristy

Hi! I am having the same problem, it has been 6 days since i have entered my receipts and they still haven't cleared yet. I am not sure what the probem is either

      • Nancy

Call 1-800-RITE-AID and listen to the prompters. It will give you the option to speak to someone in customer service/rebates.

    • Lynn

Cant get the $5 off $25 to work! Help!

      • Jpolk1278

        Me either!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!

    • Amy

I thought only 1 Up reward printed for the same item in one transaction, but I bought 2 bottles of Listerine and got 2 $2 Up rewards. I was only expecting one, so it was a nice surprise. However, I also bought 2 Purex 3-in-1 and only got 1 $1 Up reward. Are there limits set, or it it pretty random?

      • Amy

Nevermind about the Purex. The deal was to buy 2 and get $1 Up. Still, if I buy two other items that have Up rewards, will two Up rewards print?

        • Lrae17

Hey Amy…they should print, but if they don't, you can call corporate, give them your receipt info., and they'll mail you the +UP amount that didn't print. This happened to me last week when I bought Zegerid twice, even though I bought it on two different days. I was told at the store that I was only allowed one reward per item, but when I called corporate they said that was incorrect and it's a glitch in their system they're trying to work out. The lady I spoke to was very nice, apologized, and is sending my 7+UP I didn't get on my second purchase.

    • Immaculate888

Head's up: Many of us have been using the in ad coupon for $4 off Ace products and have been then buying the single package in the travel section for $1.29 and using the overage for other items. I just did this without a hitch at a RiteAid in my area. However, when I went to a different store a moment ago to do it again. I was told that she would have to adjust down the coupon price to the cost of the item so there would be no overage. I called corporate and sure enough, that IS the policy. SO just know that this may not work at your store and could ruin your whole trip like it did to mine! :( Bummer!

      • Aminehdestin

I'm sorry but it is policy. I've explained to customers before that the reason for it is simply the law. While it's not fraud in the sense of someone making coupon copies and such, if we turn a coupon for $4 in and only sold an item for $1.29 then Ace OVER pays $2.71, which is basically like making Ace pay $2.71 of a Colgate product. We can be fined for that because it's corporate coupon fraud. The cashier can be fired for it because they didn't pay attention, and technically Ace could go after the consumer for fraudulent use of their coupon. So if we mark out the bar code and write in what we take the coupon for, it covers all of the bases to keep us all from getting in trouble. The ad coupon isn't as big a deal though, because we don't get paid for them, but we are supposed to watch all coupons for this situation just in case. I came home one night and actually looked up the state law to see WHY our policy does it this way and other stores don't. Turns out, they're just trying to follow the fraud laws to the letter and stay a step ahead instead of having to back track after the fines come in.

    • Nancy

Here's what I did at Rite Aid today…

      Purchased:
      (4) Nivea for Men Body Wash – $1.99 each
      (1) Colgate Toothpaste – $3.00
      Total= $10.96
      Used:
      (1) $1.00 off Colgate Toothpaste in last week's paper
      (2) $4/2 Nivea products found at bricks coupons website
      Total OOP= $1.99

      Got back $7.00 in UP's
I'm stockpiling these UP's to get ready for next week's sale. I took a sneak at what's going on and it looks like they are having another great sale on diapers. You can look at it at “I heart rite aid.com”

      • Nancy

I donated the bodywash and toothpaste to the church.

    • Bethiez2003

Here's what I got at Rite Aid:
      (2) Nivea for men bodywash Original $4.99 each sale $1.99
      (1) Colgate sensitive toothpaste Original $4.49 sale $3.00
      used $4.00 off 2 nivea
      OOP $3.18
$5 up ($1 for each nivea $3 for toothpaste)

I then bought Rite Aid brand daytime and nitetime med Original $5.49 each Sale BOGO
OOP $0.49 Used $5 in ups

The cashier was so impressed she asked how I knew to do that so I told her about this website. She said she will be using it from now on.

I am totally disappointed…..go to rite aid and what i see is all good deals are swipped off :(

    • Tina

I am new to the rite aid SCR deals. Can I request my july check now as the august rebates are already out? Or do I need to wait until Aug 1 to request my check. I plan on buying some of the SCR deals tomorrow.

      • Fgavent

The July and August SCR deals stand alone. You can request July at only time (as long as all your receipts have been inputted and your rebate amount is correct). You don't need to wait until 8/1.

    • Kermit11

HEADS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to Rite Aid today in Centerville, Ga and was informed that they are REALLY cracking down on the “coupon” issue. The manager had to come and check ALL my coupons and then I was informed that you can only use ONE Up reward per transaction!? I am totally shocked at how hard they are coming down on everything now. I am going to call coporate tomorrow to check for sure but tonight they would only allow me 1 Up reward per transaction.
I also had bought a colgate and 2 Head and Shoulders and due to coupon issues I had NO Up rewards print out at ALL!!!!! The manager had to come and give me a $5 gift card for it all??? What an odd experience it was, this was just passed today FYI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Nancy

I spoke to corporate yesterday and the customer rep said that you can use as many UP's rewards as you want per transaction as long as the total doesn't go to zero or below zero (a transaction where they would basically owe you money).

So if you had a transaction and the total after all UP's and coupons came to 99 cents you would not be able to use a $1.00 UP's reward to wipe out your balance.

The rep's name was Yolanda and she said that RA is working on clarifying all these rules.

If any of you Rite Aid peeps are reading this, you need to straighten this out with all your managers once and for all. It's a pain for your customers AND your employees!
Customers shouldn't have to call your corporate office to get clarification on programs your managers should already know about, and the customers shouldn't have to explain to your employees how your wellness card works.

This past Sunday I purchased the Zegerid with the $7.00 UP's rewards and the pharmacist told me that the $7.00 reward is only good for $7.00 off a future purchase of Zegerid! It was embarrassing for me (and for her ) to correct her.

        • Nancy

          Oh and I almost forgot…

Yolanda said that if anytime in the future your RA store won't take more than one UP's rewards, then take out your cell phone and call corporate at 1-800-RITE-AID and they will correct the manager right there on the spot.

        • Kermit11

After I had to stand at the register while the manager went in the office to call on the issue, I was confused and agreed. I will admit that I paid way more out of pocket than I was anticipating and now I am unsure if I want to keep the products at all.
This is not the 1st time I have had an issue with Rite Aid and my coupons but I will once again work on getting it all straight.

Thank you so much for the heads up!

      • Awidener429

I work at a Rite Aid in SC and with my district we were told that you could use as many +up rewards as long as the total doesn't go below $0.00, b/c we do not give money back on any tranactions. I'm assuming that this would be for all district but not sure. Also with us if there is an internet coupon that does not scan, then we can not take them at my store and supposed to be atleast my district if not others, but they have told us that there has been issues with the video coupons scanning and to still take them but that doesn't go for the $5/$20 or $5/$25 since they are all not off of the video coupons. But it is still a good idea to call customer service and see what they say.

        • Aminehdestin

You know they did slightly tweak the coupon policy on internet coupons not scanning, right? RA (video value) coupons aren't considered internet coupons and therefore aren't subject to the $5 limit and can be pushed through manually. If an IP coupon doesn't scan though, you can type in the first 11 digits (the acutal UPC of the coupon) and hit “Lookup” and then if it still can't find it, we are supposed to refuse it. A RA coupon though we can push through still, but we have to be careful now b/c of them being linked to the wellness card. If you type the 11 digits though, they will always find the coupon b/c those are actually in the system 100% of the time. Ask your DM about it and see what he/she has to say b/c it does seem to vary. Or mention it to your manager and see what ya'll come up with. It never hurts to be pro-active and find these things out before the complaints come in!

    • kaseyshadow

Some of you posted you are having problems with the 5/25 Q. If you go to red plum and use the zip 43666 (ohio) there is a 5/25 that you can print from there. Not sure about other zips. Found this on one of the other blogs I read.

      • kaseyshadow

The Q on red plum is only good till Saturday.

While working on your Kellogs/Pop Tarts deal, shop for pop tarts that have flavors Rewards Codes. Enter codes from five different flavors on their website and earn a free movie ticket. Also, there is a listerine coupon on the Rite Aid Adperks for $1.00 off any Listerine product to use with one of the listerine sale offers this week.

      • mightymousemom

Pop Tarts also has rewards for music downloads, 2 free boxes of pop tarts, free photo prints, 1 year mag. subscription as well.

Is anyone having any issues with the Video Values not scanning at the register for this month? (I think started on Sunday or Monday) I tried to use my $5/$20 video values cpn and it wouldn't scan and the clerk said since it didn't scan they couldn't take it or adjust off and i'd have to contact corporate. ERRR. My total was $22 and I was looking forward to using it. Plus, I was flustered I forgot to give the cashier my UPs to use to reduce the total. Bad Day yesterday. Now today I have to figure out how I can get my $5 refunded. ERRR. :(

      • Nancy

That's awful. If we take the time to watch all those boring Video Values commercials to get those coupons, then RA needs to honor them regardless…otherwise Rite Aid is just wasting our time. Call 1-800-RITE-AID and speak to customer service. There's no reason why those video values couldn't have been pushed through.

      • Emhcoupon

Mine didn't scan either but the manager just pushed it through manually. In fact none of my coupons worked from the videos but he took them off. I almost forgot to use my ups as well. I''m not used to going to this store yet. Rite aid is new for me but I'm liking all the great values right now.

      • Aminehdestin

Print in black and white. I have no color ink and so I always do black and white, and mine are scanning fine. I told customers at the beginning of the week to do it that way and it does work. The color ink just causes the barcode to blur too much. Your cashier can type in the UPC (the first 11 digits after the RC) and that way you get your coupon and it still links to your card so that you can't do multiples just b/c they don't scan. I'm sure that's why stores don't want to push them through manually.

    • Emhcoupon

FREE OREOS!! Watch the oreo video value and get 1.00 off the single serve when you buy 2. They are b1g1 free at .89cents. So you make .11 cents!! It isn't in the ad but at our store in Holly Springs NC they are on sale.

I'm new to shopping at Rite Aid (thanks to this site!) and wanted to know about rainchecks. All of the stores in my area are sold out of the Nivea Body Wash that is on sale this week. Store manager gave me a raincheck but said that since the next truck doesn't come in until the sale is over then I won't get the Up+ dollars, just the sale price. Is this true? Its a good deal either way but was curious.

      • Nancy

I would call corporate at 1-800-RITE-AID and ask. Since the UP's rewards program is so new I don't know if anyone knows for sure.

    • Perkins Elizabeth

Also…for all you contact lens wearers. OptiFree Replenish twin packs are on sale this week at RiteAid. Normally they are 14.99, but they are on sale for 9.99. There was a $4 off coupon in this past Sunday's paper which makes it $5.99. It's not free, but still a SUPER DEAL!!

    • Jacsmom

HELP! What is wrong with the 5 off 25 coupon! I can't get it to print and I need it for tomorrow!

      • Nancy

Try going to the video values and watch the video that gives you a $5/$25. If you've already printed them (there should be at least 2 of them in there), then log in under a second email address and print them off.

    • Jacsmom

Can anyone tell me what has happened to the 5 off of 25 PDF coupon? I need it for tomorrow.

    • Awidener429

I saw in a couple of comments where people where saying that everytime they go into a Rite Aid store that they are sold out of all the good deals, but then in a nother comment I see where 1 person alone got 5 boxes of Colgate, and 10 Niveas. I mean come on how many items do ya'll want these Rite Aid stores to order, 100?????? Not only that we can order as many as we want but that doesn't mean that we will get all of them. If we have 5 people come in to 1 store and buy the 5 Colgates and 10 Niveas, then I would have to order atleast 25 Colgates and 50 Nivea, but I know for a fact that I would not get all of them b/c I'm not the only store that sells that product. I suggest that if you want an item to go very early in the start of that sale ad.

      • Nancy

I do shopping for 5 people with various disabilities as well as my whole family. The couponing websites save us well over a thousand dollars a year. With the economy the way it is there will be more and more people who will learn about the great deals that these websites bring.

I think that if a store is having an upcoming sale then they should anticipate based on past experiences that there will be extreme demand for these sale items.

Also…is there a way that someone at Rite Aid could look on a computer and check the inventories at other stores to see which locations have the products in stock? That would be kinda neat.

        • Sandy

I have heard that starting August 1st Up Rewards will be limited to one per wellness card. No more 10 Niveas (unless you have 10 cards– which is a no no!). Awidener, can you confirm this? If it's true, I completely understand the change.

          • Nancy

The 10 Niveas that you are referring to was due to the “Buy 2 Nivea Products Get $4.00 Off” coupon which was sponsored by Nivea. It had nothing to do with Rite Aid. I could use the coupon over at CVS and get the same deal.

          • Awidener429

I have heard of them tring to limit it to 1 +up coupon per item per card. But i don't know exactly when it is going to start. They are telling us that they are trying very hard to update all the glitches that they are finding. Will post if I hear anything on exactly when it will start.

            • Aminehdestin

Each +Up sale item does say “limit one per household” in the ad. Each and every item. So while you'd still be able to get them for free (with the coupons) you'd only get one of the $1 +up rewards. Still can't really complain about making a dollar and getting 10 free body washes, but on other sales like toilet paper and paper towels (2 items but the same listed sale) or shampoo and conditioner the limit of 1 is going to irritate people. I think it'll be adjusted as the program works the kinks out, but they're trying to keep the shelves from all being cleared on Sunday I think.

        • Awidener429

Nancy, I understand about you shopping for 5 people with disabilities, I have a few customers that do also. But you can tell when someone is shopping for someone else(for example you) vs someone just getting as many items as they can for free. Also like my DM as been helping my store order school supplies b/c we have not recieved any for the up coming school year, we had to go get a few bookbags, lunch boxes and other misc. items from 2 other stores. The warehouse is not sending it and the employess at store level can't do anything but take it from customers. Also no we can not look up on a computer at other stores inventories, yes it would be kinda neat. But say if that store didn't have something that you wanted that cashier or manager could offer to call a nearby store, atleast I would.

          • Nancy

Okay…I think perhaps the only way to please everyone then is to give rainchecks with the sales price AND the UP's rewards the customer would have received if the product was an UP's special. And give them a reasonable period of time to use that raincheck. This is what CVS does when they face a simular problem and it's very fair. I was at CVS last week and they were out of the item I needed…and their truck had just delivered inventory the day before!

As I've said before, as more and more people learn how to save money it's going to become more difficult to keep up with demand. I guess this would be good problem for Rite Aid to have.

I also agree with threemonkeysmom. While I now understand the store manager's dilema, I don't agree with making customers feel bad for purchasing more items.

I'll give you one example. This weekend Rite Aid has a great sale on their Pampers jumbo packs. Between the sales markdown, Up's rewards, manufacturer's coupons, and SCR a mom can end up not only getting the jumbo pack for FREE, but she'll also get a rebate check for $1.49 AND get a pack of wipes absolutely free along with the diapers!

Those diaper aisles are going to be stripped bare 2 days from now…

And I wouldn't blame a mother for wanting to purchase as many as possible and stock up on a good deal.

All other things aside…thank you for speaking to me. Rite Aid has so much potential and with this new UP's reward it can surpass CVS if it wanted to.

            • Aminehdestin

As of right now, we are supposed to offer rain checks INCLUDING the +Up reward if we're out of stock. Limited, of course. We always limit rain checks at my store to 2 offers b/c technically it is policy. I guess starting next week, the rain checks for +Ups will be limited to 1 since the ad states “one per household”. The only thing that is annoying with the rain check including the +Up is how it has to be done. We print the rain check (through the register, hand written rain checks aren't supposed to be done anymore) and then we write on it that it was a +Up attached. So for the Nivea, we'd print the rain check for $1.99 and write “$1 +Up” so when you go to buy it with that RC, the product would be modified down to $0.99 rather than $1.99. We can't give the +Up after the purchase yet. They sent an email explaining to modify it to the “it's like paying” price and so this deal is no longer a $1 MM. So they do have it set up so that we can give you the deals, it's still going to make people upset b/c it's not AS good a deal after the sale week. That, and the fact that it would take more to get to your $25 to use a $5 coupon.

            • Nancy

Okay, that's great information to know. I'm just wondering how that scenario would work if they had the “Buy 2 Get $4 Off” coupon. It would be impossible to get the UP on that because they would be buying both for free before the UP markdown. (personally I wouldn't care at that point about the UP, especially if I got two bottles for free. But you know how some people are about their UP's ;) )

I'm just thinking out loud because you know at some point corporate will have to deal with it…I think that's why CVS just prints them on the receipt when the raincheck is presented.

Thank you for the info…you've been really helpful!

            • Aminehdestin

That's the only problem is that the UP comes off of the price instead of the next purchase. Granted, you could save your $4/2 coupons and just use the $1 coupons instead and still get them for free, just not money makers like it was the week of the sale. We've rang a few people up for items we didn't have so that they get the +UPs and then when we get the product in, they just bring in the receipt that we wrote on and we initial and give them the product they've already paid for. We can't do it much b/c it does mess up inventory (-2 and then cycle counted to 0 b/c it's impossible to have negative anything, then when we “give” the products you've paid for, then the counts are down 2 and we have to change that, it balances out in the end, but loss prevention doesn't look kindly at stuff like that). I guess it would depend on the store, because we can't do the gift cards like others do, because then we're modifying a $1 or $5 (etc) giftcard to $0 and that'll get LP involved. It's possible, that since w/coupons that item is free, but you would've gotten a +UP, your store could modify the item to the $1.99 sale for a raincheck, then modify something else to account for that $1 +Up so that you still spend/save the same. I've said a few dozen times at this point, it's a new program, we all just have to give it time to work out the kinks. I know they can give us a coupon to scan for gift cards (like the 15 minute RX guarantee you got a $5 gift card if it wasn't ready on time, but the tech would have to scan this mock coupon for $5 to keep the drawers right) and in my opinion, that would be the easiest way to do it, plus they could probably still track it w/your wellness card so that one person isn't getting 27 +Ups that are limited to one per household just because they got rain checks and it's no longer tracked. Sorry I'm rambling to try and talk out an idea that would work, even though what are the chances that I come up with something that corporate agrees with and incorporates? Really.

      • 3monkeysmom

Even if people are only buying 1 item, in a city/town with maybe thousands of citizens, why would you think 25, 50, or 100 is enough?
I don't know why Rite-Aid started the +UP rewards but if it was to bring in more customers, it seems to be working pretty well (although at my store, it's always dead, I'm usually the only one shopping no matter what day I go on and they always have everything in stock. I LOVE my RiteAid!!) so maybe those customers shouldn't be criticized for bringing their business there.

        • Aminehdestin

During the ad order they give each store a projected sells number and then suggest how many to order. Management normally will order up, even from that, but it really is no guarantee that they will come in. I know our store manager has FOUGHT to get more in week after week of regular stock items that we sell out of each week and stuff coming up on ad. We can't order too much though, because if it doesn't sell, it has to be put in overstock and that $ can't go over a certain limit and the shelves only hold so much. It's a double edged sword. We try to get enough but without being psychic there's not much we can do.

          • 3monkeysmom

I completely understand where you are coming from on that particular point :-) I just had a birthday party for my daughter…wanted to make sure I had enough but not too much when I bought the food :-) Not exactly the same but a similar concept….
It's the attitude that customers are doing something wrong when they buy more than 1 item that I don't like. Like Nancy for instance, who says she shops for 5 people who are incapable of shopping for themselves. If they could shop for themselves it would be more people buying and only getting one but the same amount of product is being sold so I guess I just don't understand why it matters.

            • Aminehdestin

We limit to 2 per customer (per day) on most really hot sale items b/c we've had someone tell us before that she was in a store Sunday morning and the woman in front of her bought EVERY Nivea body wash on the shelf (when they were 2 for $7 and the coupons had just come out I think) and when she asked the manager if they had anymore, he shrugged and said that lady had just bought all they had and when he tried to limit her she threatened to call and complain to corporate so he was in a catch 22. Lady #2 was grateful when I told her we had a limit of 2 even though she was looking for 3, she said she'd send her husband in, or just come back the next day so she could do all of her care packages. I don't mind people getting really good deals. I cheer it on. Actually I try to do it too. To have all of the complaints of being out of product is worse in my opinion than putting a reasonable limit on the items. I know it makes customers like Nancy go store to store or come back out day after day which I feel bad about, but it gives a more fair shot to everyone in the area to take advantage of the sale. It's not 100%, but it's the *most* fair way we've come up with to spread the wealth around. Not to mention, keeping the store open b/c we have less complaints and corporate can't get mad about our overstock levels. Win-win for the most part.

            • 3monkeysmom

One of those “in between a rock and a hard place” kind of things, it seems…b/c you're never going to make everyone happy :-(
I think corporate needs to get a better handle on it. I don't think its fair for the employess to bear the brunt of the complaints (from both ends of the spectrum) or to have to police everything. The best way to do that would be to put limits on those items, like CVS does, and since it's tied to your Wellness Card, that's it.
*Just for the record, I am not a person who buys more than 1-2 of the hot sale items…I try to use my best judgement. Sometimes if I have 3-4 coupons, I might get 3-4 items….it all depends on what the item is and whether or not I need more of that item (low stockpile) or if I know someone else who needs it. Or if it's one of those deals where you have to buy a certain number to get the deal.
But it just bothers me that people assume b/c someone is getting a ton of stuff that they're selling it at flea markets or on ebay. I'm sure a lot of people DO do that but it's not fair to attack the other people who have good intentions.

            • Aminehdestin

That's funny b/c the only time we really assume something is going to be sold at another store or the flea market is with theft. We've only mentioned someone having a store or a booth at the flea market once that I can remember, when someone was buying all of our clearance make-up and it was obvious that it wasn't for them (pale colors and such don't normally get bought by women w/darker complexions) but even still we didn't mind them buying it, that's why it went on clearance! I've heard some customers mention “selfish” behavior when talking about some couponers, but for the most part our customers are pretty good about leaving some inventory. We've had some non-regulars lately come in wanting to buy everything on the shelf and they get angry with us, but like I said, we just try to be as fair as possible for ALL of the customers rather than the first 10 who come in or even just our regulars. I'm okay with you buying 1-2 of the really good sale items, and even 3-4 if it's a really good deal and it's something you will use. I bought 2 Nivea Body washes this week *well* before it looked like it was going to be such a hot sale -no one had bought any yet and it was at closing Sunday night!- because I figured my brother and roommate would use them and if not, they could always go to a food bank or something since my coupon made them free. I wouldn't do more than 1 deal b/c I don't want to deplete stock myself, but 2 is reasonable for anyone in my opinion.

            • 3monkeysmom

Not saying the employees are doing the attacking :-) More and more lately on any given southernsavers posts I see it. Someone will come on celebrating a good deal they've found and stocked up on and almost immediately someone else will complain that they bought too many or accuse them of selling the items. It justs gets annoying to see people who are genuinely excited about their awesome deal getting slammed when they want to tell people about it :-( Especially when you have no way of knowing their intentions..they could be giving to friends or donating to food banks. People can just be so hurtful :-(

      • kaseyshadow

Totally off topic but I saw you work in SC. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the assistant Manager at my rite aid and the cashiers. I went sunday with the new VV and they wouldn't scan. The cashier told they had been having problems with them all morning and pushed them through. Went back later in the week and had an issue with one of the UP rewards. The cashier pushed it through. Store 11581 rocks! If you happen to be in that district or know the district manager can you pass that on! I've emailed corporate and done the survey several times. THey are great there and the one cashier is as exicited as I am about my totals:)

    • guest

A good question.. If I were to buy one item worth $80.00 from Rite-Aid, can I use more than one 5/25 coupon? Or not?

And what do you suggest I do in this case? Thank you all for your time.

      • Aminehdestin

One item you won't be able to use more than one. Some stores will let you if you go over $50 use 2 $5 off coupons, but that's just to save time and not have to split transactions. Buying one item that just happens to be expensive, you can't split in to multiple transactions and I guarantee that's a situation that could get your cashier fired for doing. I'm sure it's been done, but they'll start tracking it and firing employees before too long. I'm sorry I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to hear.
