tj-maxx-back-to-school

As the first day of school rapidly approaches and all of you are seeking out the best deals on pens, paper and school supplies, I am sure that one other thing is in the front of your minds: clothes.  Odds are your kid is a little bigger than last year and his or her clothes have suffered at the hands of playgrounds, ketchup, and brightly colored markers.  As you head to the stores to help your kid look sharp I hope I can help point you in a good direction.

I have posted a lot in the past about awesome deals at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls and they must have noticed.  Recently I was asked to be one of their back-to-school spokespeople!!! I’m giddy just typing it.  First I love their stores, but to get to be spokesperson for anything is just awesome.

Why T.J. Maxx & Marshalls??

They are the leaders in “Off-Price” clothing.  Everything is the name brand, and same-as quality of the department store but the price is between 20-60% lower than in a department or designer store.  That means your kids get exactly the look they want and you save a ton!

Some people think it is because they are have small flaws or off season.  Wrong!  All items are exactly the same as the item in the more expensive store and each store gets over 10,000 new items each week and they work hard to stay in season and with the trends. To stay in season they have buyers out all year working with designers.  They like to call themselves “opportunistic buyers”.  This means that are always looking for any opportunity to help you score a deal.  An example:  A Top name shoe designer makes too many shoes for an order with department stores, Marshalls swoops in and buys what’s left to put in their store!

Over the next six weeks we are going to have some fun contests and I will share some tips on truly getting the most for your money shopping TJ Maxx and Marshalls!

A Savings Challenge::

Over the next 3 weeks when you head out to T.J. Maxx or Marshalls and find an awesome deal (like the dress we found a few months ago), take a picture of it with your phone or bring it home and take a photo.  Email me your photo and we are going to have our own contest.  You guys will get to vote on all the entries and decide the best Marshalls T.J. Maxx deal.

The winner will receive $250 in giftcards for T.J. Maxx or Marshalls (winner’s choice).

    • Rock on! I ONLY get my name brand sunglasses from TJ Maxx :)

    • Madpaulmom

      How awesome for you!!! Congratulations!

    • Crissy

Congrats. I love both stores and shop there often. Look forward to this!

    • Usharvind

I feel like I am going to do something great…..awesome Jenny. Proud to know you.

    • Shanaka

Congrats! I <3 shopping both stores.

I prefer Ross Dress for Less, I find great deals there and alot of times for less than @ TJ Maxx & Marshalls. I always find great deals on all the name brands my kids & husband love. But any of those stores are great places to shop.

      • Laura

I LOVE Ross! Most of their clothing is half of what TJ Maxx is. After shopping their I find TJ Maxx to actually be expensive haha. And Ross has the same things, so its nice to get them for even cheaper :)

    • Missthemister

I love TJ Maxx and Marshalls for myself and my husband, but for some reason the intown stores in Atlanta are always wiped out of good girls' clothing. I always keep my eyes open, but Target usually gets most of my business for kids' clothes.

      • kristifromchelsea

I with you. I like their clothes and the deals are great, but I have a hard time spending money on me. I have three girls and wished they would carry a larger stock of children's clothes.

    • I love TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Stein Mart too! They all have discount prices on nice clothing. About a month ago I went shopping and bought a few new things from TJ Maxx. I got a pair of dress pants for only $7 that was marked down and two dress shirts for $10 each!

    • Bryarsmom

I've been a huge fan of Stein Mart for 14 years. Upsale clothing for little cash.
When you go, you get it. :)

Being the spokesperson is absolutely amazing. Shows you are being noticed for doing a good job and people are responding to your positive attitude and hard work. :))

    • Lyvismommy

I love Marshall's! I just got my son a pair of Mark Ecko Cut N Sew shorts for only $12. And I also got my 2 yr old daughter a Kenneth Cole Party dress for $10! I love being able to get brand name items that are current and in fashion for a fraction of the original cost! Way to go Jenny for being the new spokesperson! You deserve it!

    • Jessica

I admit, the clothes at both TJ Maxx and Marshalls are great, but my first stop is always the food aisle. This is a wonderful place to find gourmet and organic foods at amazing prices. My favorites to look out for are coffee, olive oil and sea salt.

    • Jillksmith

YEAH!!! Are you kidding me…TJ Maxx is THE BEST!!! 95% of what my family wears comes from TJ Maxx!! Actually was there this week for school shopping…I got all name brand merchandise from Ralph Lauren and Under Armor to Steve Madden shoes…got 4 Polo shirts, 1 pair Polo jeans, 1 pack UA socks and UA backpack for my little boy and 2 tops for my girls, 4 bras each (8 total), 3 pair of shoes Volatile, Oneil and Kenneth Cole and I think that's it for $200!!! OH YEAH!!! The Under Armor backpack alone was regular price at $89!! LUV LUV LUV me some TJ Maxx!! think i will go home and stack up my purchases and send in my pic…that'd make for a GREAT day!! :)

I've been a T.J.'s fan since I was in college. I shop there all the time and it's the best place to go for gifts. That's the first place I go whenever I need a birthday present, wedding, or baby gift. Love me some T.J.'s!

    • Love, love Marshall's! Should we just send photos of clothing or any item (like household)? Are we only able to send 1 photo or should I send you multiple photos from my weekly shopping trips ;)

    • Cindy Casey001

I too love TJ Max and Marshall's. I enjoy going and finding the “Rachael Ray” pots and pans.
Awesome prices on them all the time. Also just bought my grandaughter shoes, socks and clothes for school. Unbelievable prices………….yeh!

My husband has gone to wearing just golf shirts with the new moisture wicking material. They are so expensive – but thanks to TJ Maxx, he can now get them for a fraction of the cost!!! They're usually $40-$50 and we get them for $10 or less. Love it!
