120-silhouette

Do you love crafts?  Or, you would love crafts but have no talent?  If so, this one is for you.

Southern Savers is giving away a Silhouette Digital Cutter to one lucky reader.

I was sent a Silhouette to try and review,  and it definitely lives up to the hype.  Thanks to my husband and the Silhouette, my girls have so many animal paper cut-outs that they might qualify as a zoo.   I love that you don’t need a ton of different cartridges and add-ons (think expensive) it can cut anything you want!  Just plug in your computer and start imagining your design.

Interested in what else it can do (like writing on glass, painting words on the wall, etc.)?  Look at  all the options at the Silhouette site.

Want to win one??

Tell me one way you would use the Silhouette.  I’ll pick one winner Saturday morning.

Check back Wednesday thru Friday to see different projects we made with ours.
(I’ve also got an awesome deal if you want to buy one!)

I spent I don't know how much time on my little boys 1st birthday last year, hand making everything we used at the birthday party. I would love to have one of these to be able to get a little more detail when I am asked to help with a party!

She is extremely gifted when it comes to arts & crafts, and loves to scrapbook, make cards, invitations, and other projects. This would definitely come in handy as we cannot afford to purchase lots of different tools for her, and this would be like having many tools in one! Perhaps, with it's ability, she'd be able to expand into areas she hasn't had the ability to before. And, it would be awesome for school projects, too! :)

Would love to win this.

    • Oscar11

I would use for decoratives touches around the house and especially in my girls room.

    • Madge

Would it work for coupon cutting? I'm paralyzed (from a car accident at 18) and can't use my fingers on scissors, but can get help from my amazing helpers. Thought maybe this could help me be able to clip on my own. In addition, I give a lot of showers and have bible study here…it'd be a tremendous blessing for my helpers that I drag to officemax to cut cards and gifts for my ladies.

    • I would use this for a plethora of crafty things! This is my dream craft machine I've been drooling over for a while now. • Shannonlayton

I am a photographer and would LOVE to scrapbook! I have probably 20,000 photographs on my hard drive that have never been printed! I would use the Silhouette to help with my new scrapbooking venture to get some of these precious photographs on to paper!

      Shannon L :)

    • Lisa

My family has always had the tradition of making homemade cards! The little ones would simply use paper and crayon, but the projects would grow more and more complex as the kids grow older. The card making capability of the Silhouette looks amazing!

    • Jenniferlee17

I love to Scrapbook and have always wanted one, but never had the extra money to throw at it. I have a 1 1/2 year old and am way behind on his first year. This would help me motivate myself to get going.

    • BJ

I would definitely use mine to do scrapbooking and homemade special occasion cards for family :)

    • Kim

To limit it to just one is hard, so I would say VBS, school, home, church, etc. The list goes on and on.

    • I would use it to help my daughter with School projects and with making cards for friends and family and to help my little boy learn about shapes. Both children love crafts and this would be perfect for our family.

I lost my job a year ago and moved to Florida to be close to my family. I would love to help my grand daughters make gifts and cards for this upcoming Christmas season! I love homemade gifts, and now I have the time to teach them how to create gifts that are so much nicer than store-bought!

I would use the machine to help decorate the nursery. We are having a baby and we live in an apartment where we can't paint. So I could design things for her walls. I would also use it for church activities, card making, and making gifts (since all of my christmas gifts are homemade each year).

    • Sharon Key

    • scrapbooking!!!

    • Mamaberry

WOW!! I have NEVER…..Interesting, because I JUST bought some vinyl letters to put on the wall. But, to make my own? and say whatever I want? and crafts for my girls? (there's 3 of them…it gets expensive)…and gifts/cards – oh my! I'd look like I have a hint of talent hiding somewhere in this body of mine :)

    • Kristin

I would use it to make things for my 3 year old and the new baby on the way!

    • Wow! So many possiblilites! My 8 year old daughter has been begging for an 'updated' room. It seems she has outgrown the pastel flowers and now wants a tomboy softball themed room. So, this would come in handy for the many softballs she was all over the walls and on her loft bed. Not to mention, if we could make some decals for our local Minor league team, The Lookouts, I would be the best mom ever!! Thanks so much!!

    • Bethanystover

I'd like to make these every year and this would really really help! Pick me, Pick me!!

    • Ktandrews5

With four kids there is endless possiblities. I would first try to label everything in the house since my husband can never find anything and I beleive every thing has a place to be in the house and if you found it there it should be returned there when you are doing using it!

Scrapbooking and cardmaking for sure! My son graduates from high school next year and my goal was to get all his pics caught up! I think I'm on 6th grade! (A little behind!) The “other” machine I have costs A LOT of money to get new cartridges for! ;)

    • bethany

I love all craft related things to do with my little girl!

    • Kiley

This is an amazing system. I am not an all together crafty person even though I wish I were. If I were luck enough to win this, I would donate it to our teachers staff at my kids school. My kids go to a very small school and budgets are always tight so I know this would be greatly appreciated.
      Good Luck to all!! :)

    • NICUSondraD

I am hosting a 10 yr old boy from Haiti, who came to the US for medical care for injuries received in the Jan 12th Earthquake. He doesn't speak English. We could use the Silhouette in many ways: Pictures for him to learn the names of things, where to put things in his room and he could help putting things together which would be excellent occupational therapy (hand to eye) as well! If we won this it would be such a blessing to help him get better!

    • Diana

I would love to have one of these to make vinyl lettering!

    • Maggie

We are big on crafts especially in the summer when school is out. My daughters would have so much fun and be so creative with this cutter. I would use it for scrapbooking, card making and school projects. I homeschool my son so we are always needing what seems like expensive resources. Plus I work part time and go to schoool full time and I just started a single parent ministry. I make homemade greeting cards for people because I love to do it and I love doing something special for each individual person. We do lots of field trips and travel once a year so I keep a travel scrapbook and every year we make our own school yearbook that is like a school scrapbook for that grade. Actually, I'm afraid this amazing little machine would get more than an honest work out!

    • RebeccaTompkins

This is so cool. I would use this to organize my life, as well as add flare to my home decor projects.

    • MelanieDee

Wow! What a cool tool! As a fourth grade math teacher, I would use this nifty tool to teach geometry–we have such a time creating and cutting out different shapes–two and three d. As the Kwanis-Kids leader at school, I will use this to help students create cards and such to include in our various community outreach projects. We will make posters, cards, border, and such much more for the classroom. As a Sunday School teacher AND kids chior leader, I would put this guy to work decorating rooms, making decorations for the classrooms, and programs. Again, we would use this to make cards. At Christmas time, we create, sign and deliver cards to about 100 church memebers who are unable to leave home to attend church. This would be a great time saver for this project! I am also a mom of two little girls—tons of pictures and no scrapbooks yet! This would get us started scrapbooking! I just can't imagine all the additinal ways we would put the cutter to great use! Thank you for the chance to wit this amazing tool!

    • Angela

Wow! What a cool thing! I would love to make some things for the quilts that I am making for my kids. They would love to pick out designs for their own quilts and then make some matching things for their walls and accessories.

    • Ohhh yay! I would love this. I own my own business. My logo is actually of a silhouette, so this would make for some adorable thank you notes to send in my orders. I currently pay someone to do this for me and they turn out beautiful! Thank you for the chance to win Jenny!

    • Projects! I dread them, and I have no artistic talent! This would be a huge help.

    • Michelle

Would love to use it when working on my kids' scrapbooks!

    • mabell4tn

    • Jess

I would love this, but my sister in law could really use it… she's an elem school teacher in a rural area and spends way too much money on teaching aids that the school can't buy for her. This could really help her make a difference.

I like to use the train cutout at the teacher center to make LOTS of laminated trains. I use them to form a train all around the classroom as the students earn compliments for their class as a whole for good behavior, whether from me, a parent, or another teacher. If the train reaches around the room by the end of the year, we have a huge party in the park. Always lots of fun!

I have been eyeing these types of machines for a few months, but have not had the money to purchase one. I teach second grade and would love to have one of these machines to use for classroom crafts, bulletin boards and enhancing walls around my classroom and the school. I know it would also be handy to use in place of a die-cut machine for shapes/figures that we use in our lessons.

helen keller once said…”the only thing worse than being blind is to have sight with no vision”…working with special needs children, especially ones with significant sight impairment…I would use the cutter to develope tactile learning and shape association…my own daughter is legally blind with severe delays…so I have a vision! I have been looking at a variety cutters over the past couple of months….but like most being a budget requires discipline to invest in one….this would be a blessing not only to our family, but would be used for the many.

    • RebeccaFer

I just changed my 5 yo daughter's bedroom into a Hawaiian Theme. She's into Lilo & Stitch right now so I went to Dollar Tree and picked up $12 worth of Luau goodies to make it look tropically cute. I'd love to see what other Aloha style things I could make with this cool looking item! :D

    • BuckeyeSara1982

My husband is a high school teacher and girls soccer coach. Since we had been married for 8 years and didn't have children, I focused all of my crafting and scrapbooking energy on making things for the girls on his team (scrapbooks, framed photo posters, etc.) A few weeks ago we were blessed with the adoption of our newborn daughter. I really want to scrapbook for her, but the adoption took every penny we had (LITERALLY! We got rid of our YMCA membership, cable TV, home phone, and more to pay for it) and there is NO way I can afford a Sizzix or Cricut or any other paper cutter. I would LOVE to have something like this to not only do crafts for my daughter, but also the soccer team girls!

    • Cissy

I live in a rural area with limited access to supplies. This would be great to make personalized gifts.

Oh Oh OH!! I have so wanted one of these – I am an obsessed scrap-booker, who alas has had no time for over a year or more……. I dream of scrapping – maybe this would kick myself back into MAKING THE TIME, to get back into my stack of photos and supplies!

Wow! What a neat product! It would be really great to make such beautiful gifts and it's ok if your not a gifted artist or crafty because it will still turn out really nice. My daughter would really enjoy it too. I could also use it to make some crafts to sell. It is difficult to find a job in this economy and this would definitely help build up some inventory for a great craft sale. Something my daughter and I could do together and that she could witness how to grow money and hopefully watch me grow a side business. I would actively pursue a job but this would definitely help. Also for her next party, I could make tshirts for the guests. It seems the possibilities are endless with this product. What a great invention. Thanks for the opportunity to be included in this contest and a very huge thank you for your internet site Southern Savers. It has taught me alot and has helped me learn how to save as much as possible on my grocery shopping. You are very generous not to charge anything and you are really helping so many people. • Chelly

My fiance and I just bought a new house right before he was shipped to Afghanistan. I have spent my spare time visiting websites, hobby stores, magazines and home decorating places (Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc.) trying to find ways to make this house a “home” for when he comes back in November. I was just in Michael's on Saturday and was amazed at all of the scrapbooking material on display. I overwhelmed myself before I even got halfway through the store! The ideas that came to mind though was to put together frames and scrapbooks with all the things we have done since we met. I bought a small scrapbook to start putting all the little cards that came with flowers and gifts he has sent me. The Silhouette would really allow me to get creative and truly personalize it. It appears it will also help me decorate some of these blank walls. In the boys' room I can put cut-outs of their interests (fishing for one and skateboarding for the other) on their walls. The living room would allow me to decorate with Zen items. It looks like the possibilities are endless!

    • Hollie Benoit

oohhh… I'd love one of these for so many reasons, wall art, scrapbooking, kindergarten projects. The list goes on and on!

I would use this for my special ed classroom. I can think of a million uses that I could get out of it. Sorting, patterns, counting, etc.

    • TamaP

I am a teacher and spend a great deal of time hand cutting shapes for direction cards for my students hands on activities. I would love to be able to quickly cut out awesome items…to help my class as well as my grade level team…we would be so apprecitative. We would also use it for our class scrapbook and student novels…my goodness there are thousands of uses for our classroom!

    • Cooks1994

I would love to have the SILHOUETTE for my crafty little girls to use.

    • Toverby

    • Rena

I would use it to make scrapbooks for my precious K-4 students. I have been making scrapbooks for my students for 4 years….It gives them something to remember all the fun they had in K-4, because who would remember K-4 without pictures! The scrapbooks have been a hit!

    • Katie

    • grisy

I would use it to make cards for all occasions. Love sending notes every time I can.

    • Paula

I would love to have a Silhouette to use in my church's Sunday School!

    • I would use the Silhouette to cut out heavy cardstock (maybe to mount on a piece of cardboard the same shape?), punch holes all around the edges, and then put together yarn “sewing” projects for our Children's hospital. They are always looking for craft projects that can be done by the patients in bed, or by their siblings who are waiting during procedures, long stays, etc. I'm an occupational therapist, so I often prepare crafts (on a low clinic budget!) and the Silhouette would be used by many. Sounds like the craft possibilities are endless! Fun, fun, fun!!!

    • Cphe

When I saw the offer to win the Silhouette my mind started racing with all the possibilities I could do with it…. i do stamping and card making, i LOVE crafts, making homemade gifts(so gift tags!!),and most of all I teach 3 and 4 yr olds-wow what i could do with it for school!!!

    • Curtisaj23

I would love to have one of these. I am a children's director for a group of 4-11 years old and we always do crafts, cut outs. Including i do crafts with my kids. Most of the times it is alot of cutting out by hand for the crafts to prepare for the class, This would come in handy.

    • SuzanneH

      amyallen76 at gmail dot com

    • Toptin2003

I would use it for crafting with my 4 girls and all of our church group. We also live in a very samll town where the local library and community does not have any type of crafting tools. So we would also use it there to help teach other children in the community the joys of working with there hands. Most of these children have never experienced crafting and just simply enjoy having someone teach them these things we take for granted.

    • Jojeau

This would be an awesome tool to use with my 3 and 4 year old Sunday School class.. I hope I win!!!

    • Mommaof3Boys&alittleLady

I would use it with my kids at home(and church)to make crafts, cards and for the fun school projects like Animal Science Notebooks and such. I am also in charge of our nursery at church so this would be a great way to decorate the nursery on a VERY limited budget. I am a little crafty but with four kids my time for crafty things is limited, so this would really be a time saver as well as money saver. I have yet to complete their rooms since we moved as well, busy, busy, busy!….aren't we all? I would share it with my siter-in-laws(total of 17 kids in all and counting, ha!) and friends as well…we all try to help each other save money and find the deals! Thanks Jenny for all the time YOU spend saving us money, I am SO grateful!!!!

    • Awright

I'm a teacher, so I'd use it ALL over school! :)

Would be so fantastic to use for Sunday School. I teach first grade and it would make life much, much easier when trying to put together crafts. First graders are not that great with scissors so I have to do a lot of the cutting myself. I'd be so appreciative and am excited about even the thought of it.

Oh, boy howdy, would I love to have one of these! I recently started my own little craft business from home, selling mainly bridal accessories online and at local craft fairs in order to stay at home with my son and the baby that is on its way, and to save up to get my Master's in Library science…this would help immensely! I can see this taking my packaging to the next level, helping to make my products look more professional! And I can just imagine how much fun my son would have putting together his alphabet book (we're up to the D's, so far…) We like to can produce from our garden for gifts, and etching the jars with a meaningful word or design would really make those gifts extra special! Scrapbooking!!! Card making!! (drives me crazy to pay three to five dollars for storebought cards when I could use that money to buy something that could feed someone or actually be useful!) Wall decals!! (how awesome for the baby's room…I'm seeing butterflies if we have a girl!) Cupcake wraps!!! My son would have a blast picking out designs to decorate for his birthday party! oooh, invitations! And, someday when I am a school media specialist, I can definitely see all the possibilities with bulletin boards cleverly crafted to draw the kids in long enough to put a book in their hands and get 'em to start reading! oooh, ooh, fancy bookmarks! • Justbamom

I used to scrapbook alot! I would love to get finished, but, have alot on my plate right now. I have a very needy family that includes a diabetic husband, 2 children with chronic asthma, and a 85 year old mother who had a storke in September and acts like a child now. It's hard to have any me time especially since I also work and am going back to school in the fall. I can remember going out and buying a cricut and returning it to the store a few days later because I felt so guilty spending the money on it when we were having trouble making ends meet. I'd love to have a new toy to play with just knowing that it is all for me. I also would like to have a tool to encourage and assist me to finish those scrapbooks for my precious kids. I'm so afraid that one day, I may not be here and they will have a mess. I believe that scrapbooks made with love and care show our loved ones how much they really mean to me and allows them to see a bit of the crafter in each page. By the way, I am fairly new to Southern Savers and I appreciate your site so much. Thanks for the time that you put into it each day!

    • Nora97joy

I love scrapbooking but don't have a lot of time or money to invest in it. This would help with both!!

    • Diana

I love to scrapbook and I know I'd use it there first. Then, the possibilities are endless…vinyl to decorate the boys rooms, cards (I've been wanting to bring a stack to the senior care center for them to hand out and this would make it so much easier to do!), decorations for church events, gifts for teachers… The more I think the more ideas I am coming up with.

Thanks for doing such a neat give away. Someone will be so blessed! :)

My kids have been trying to think of some way to earn their own money. My head is swimming with ideas now! By using the SDC they could make greeting cards, scrapbook pages, embellishments, etc to sell. And since you can connect it to the computer, they could make their own designs. Wow, yes, I'm liking this idea! They could learn about making money, the importance of respecting copywrites (make your own designs, don't copy someone else's work), learn computer skills, etc. What a wonderful little machine!!

    • Brooke B

I have been scrapbooking for 15 years…that makes me feel old! But I have always wanted to get a cutting system but been to cheap! This would be awesome!

    • Kalli_jean

I would love to scrapbook, but I'm not very creative or artistic. This would definitely help out.

    • Bethterry1893

This wold come in so handy in my classroom. I teach kindergarten in Dillon. Due to drastic budget cuts my children will not have store bought crafts this year. I would use this to aid in arts and crafts throughout the school year. We make crafts for every letter of the alphabet and every holiday. I also love to make a scrapbook for the children/parents for the end of the year. I would also be able to use the Silhouette year after year for bulletin boards, center areas and cubbies. Children don't understand budget cuts. They deserve to have the best especially in kindergarten! Thanks!

    • Brienorris

I would use it to make fancy Vinyl Lettering for my kitchen and bedroom. The ones at the store are so pricey. What a fantastic giveaway!

    • Kim B

It would help on scrapbooking and doing stuff for Sunday School.

    • I would love to have one of these. I would use it for card crafting, as it is not only more fun, but also more personal to create your own cards. Also, I'm buying my first house next week, so I could use it for decorating my new house!

    • Stephanie

I love, love, love to scrapbook and have been looking for an affordable cutter for awhile now! Hi there. I am a family child care provider and I am always having to go out and purchase our die cuts, they are very costly. We do many projects a month with every holiday and birthday theme. It would save me tremendous time and money to be able to do it from home and have the children come up with diffrent possibilitties and devote more time to them. Thanks for such a wonderful offer.

      Maria

    • Lorri Johnson

I teach a Sunday School class for ladies that don't really fit into the “other catagories” of classes offered. Our room is really drab and I have been wanting to paint it and write scripture verses on the walls, but, alas, I am not that talented. I can paint ok, but the hand decorating w/words is not in my gene pool. I would use this to really spruce up my sunday school room!

    • Kamnsc

I would use it to liven up the bulletin boards in my classroom! That would be so cool!

    • Kelly

I have a competitor cutting machine, but the cartridges are SO expensive, so I don't have very many of them–which tends to limit creativity. BTW, How did you get on the list to review cool products like the Silhouette? I'd like to be on it, too.

    • Allison

Besides my children using it for creative projects during the summer (when they get “bored” and to keep them away from the computer), I'd also like to use it for creative forms of marketing to stand out from the crowd. Business is painfully slow right now so anything unusual to send to clients would make an impact.

    • P.L.

I would give this to my best friend! She makes the most amazing crafts and I know she has been wanting something like this for such a long time. I teach a 3 and 4 year old Church class. I would love one of these to enable me to creaqte various different shapes to use on our weekly crafts. It is very hard to find stickers that I want to use. This would enable me to create the shape I want and just use glue dots to make them into my own stickers.

    • Candice

I would do SO much with this! I would use it for school projects, scrapbooking, and etching glass. I would have loved to have this a few weeks ago–I did a custom banner for my son's first birthday and cut everything by hand. This would have made it so much easier, not to mention nicer!

    • Who couldn't use this!!??!! I can see myself using this for so many different projects! I am active in my womens group at church where we're always working on projects…I am also involved in the nursery at church and can see it coming in very handy…and last but not least…I am a stay at home mom and would love to be able to do all kinds of arts and crafts projects with my daughter!!! Thanks for the opportunity!!!

    • Ehinds07

Having five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one on the way, the Shlhouette would be great to personalize the babyshowers and birthday parties coming up. Using the computer instead of having to buy lots of cartridges to do many different projects. Bookmarks for Church events (think Vacation Bible School), birthday and anniversary cards for all my special people. I have eight sisters and over 50 neices and nephews so this would sure get at workout. God bless you and all you do.

    • Sherrieburke

I would catch up on my scrapbooking that has been in serious need of my attention for about 5 years now.

    • Susi

I would love this as I've NEVER been able to use scissors well, I received an “needs improvement” in K-5 and haven't come far in the 35 years since :( But I would love to be able to do crafts with my kids, scrapbooks and all the other fun stuff people who can cut well can do.

    • Rbooneakamom

I would use the Silhouette in so many different ways. First I would use it to help my kids on there monthly book report and science reports. They go to a private school where they have to do one of each a month and it's very challeging since they are in 3rd and 4th grade. The 2nd way I would use it would be with my Sunday School Class at church. I teach the 2 and 3 year olds and we are all ways making sometype of paper animal or people. Next I would use it for crafts at our Wednesday night bible club. My husband and I teach 3 year olds all the way up to 6th grade. Lastly and most importantly I would use it to make cute labels for my home.

    • Priscilla

Oh my goodness, where to start? I would use it for my classroom, my sunday school class and personal scrapbooking and card making. My 7 year old would LOVE that thing for all kinds of papercrafts and school projects. She loves art. It would be a real blessing.

    • reggie55

Wow! That's all I can say…. WOW!!! I would really LOVE to try one. I don't even know where I'd begin. The paper crafts look awesome, but the vinyl lettering looks really cool, too. I think the best part is that you just plug in your computer!!!! I'd REALLY love to have one…

    • Mary Ellen

I would use mine for my toddler Sunday School class. I teach 10 kids a week and we love to do crafts with them. I would love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Jcarrollathome2004

I love to use these to make my kids birthday invites and cards ect., but I always have to ask my friend if I can borrow hers. I would not have to ask anymore and I could utilize for so many other things as well.

    • For the past 5 years, a group of girls get together throughout the year to make cards (birthday, friendship, holiday, thank you etc)to sell as a fundraiser for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in our community. It is a passion for us as we all have been or know someone that has been effected by Breast Cancer and are hopeful of a cure in the future. We are a grassroots effort to make a difference for all women.

In addition, I spearhead a fundraising effort during the Hoilday season for the Elderly in our community. This allows the elderly in our area to get basic necessities to allow the m t oremain independent. Our group would get together to make cards for them to send to their friends to stay in touch with contacts they may have. THe elderly are a forgotten group of individuals who are apprecative of the little things.

I would also scrapbook for my family.

    • Binghams5

I would love to have this machine, I have been scrapbooking for years and don't have any of the new fangle things. I am now scrapbooking by 22 month old grandson and could use the help!!

    • Christy

Ooooh! So many things I would use it for — glass etching, freezer paper stenciling, crafts with my daughter….. I would love it!

    • Jennifer

As a teacher, I would use the Sillouette Digital cut out to make incentive charts for my classroom. It seems like it would also be fun to create books to encourage writing for my students and my own three year old daughter. I love doing little craft projects with my three year old. It could also be like using paper dolls for us to create clothes and animals to dress up and design.

It would be neat to use it to create saying in my daugther's room after we paint it this summer.

    • crissyk

      My niece would love this

    • Natalie559

I would give it to my dad who is making bags for his turkey calls that he hand makes.

    • Rlf6915

      Scrapbooking

    • Willi1617

The Silhouette could help me decorate and label items in my home. It would also help with school projects for my daughter and be a way for my family to have creative fun together. This is an awesome giveaway! Thanks for letting us know about his product.

    • Saraarwen

Wow…this thing is cool! My mind is reeling thinking of all the things I would be able to do with this. First, I'd get busy on those scrapbooks I've been meaning to do! I'd also make cards, gifts, room decor…so many things!

    • I teach HS English, and I'm trying to incorporate more activities designed for multiple intelligences. Having this could allow my students to make extraordinary visual products. And, of course, it would make my classroom look so much nicer; I mostly rely on posters now.

    • Curls4christ79

I would use it for projects with the kids I tutor. Also to make vinyl wall applications to decorate my little girls nursery.

    • Kelli

I would use it for scrapbooking and crafts. My daughter loves making cards for her friends!

    • Jennifer Benavides

Oooh! I've been wanting to get one of these for several months now but they are just too pricey. There's so many things that I could use it for but this one I'd give to my mom. She'd had an in-home daycare for over 40 years and teaches Sunday school. She'd love the Silhouette.

    • Sheeney

I would use it for scrapbooking, and my kids would use it to make cards and crafts.

    • Kendra

I have two daughters, my oldest Jessie will be three in Aug. and my youngest Reagan will be 18mths. in Aug. When they were born my sister gave me a scrapbook for each of them, but she only filled the first page out. Then I have only filled a couple more. I am “crafty-challenged” I think. I would love this machine to help me “get inspired” and get into working the books. I would love to actually have them finished before they go to college!! LOL. :)

PS I love love all the hard work you put into helping us all save save save each week. :)

    • Terri

I would use it for school projects with the kids and also to catch my scrapbooks up that I have yet to finish.

    • kjmiller

I'll be doing preschool and K-5 homeschooling beginning this Fall. (We would like to send our children to a Christian school, but like most others, things are tight in this economy..). Anyway, this machine would be great for creating materials for their lessons and art projects! Thanks for the chance to win.

    • SHCrawford

As the volunteer church coordinator for a brand new preschool in the Charleston area, I would use it for bulletin boards, for window prints and wall stencils, for shelf markers for correct replacement of different works and manipulatives, and for so many things! This looks like a wonderful product. I had hoped that we might be able to purchase a die cut or something similar, but I'm having to watch our budget very closely. I'm sure that many of your readers would put this to very good use and that I am only one of many.

Thank you for offering such a lovely gift!

    • ivegotcutekids

Getting my pictures into an attractive scrapbook and projects for school and church!! Thank you for the opportunity.

    • Carolinaclipper

We would use it to make gifts for other people and cute things around the house.

    • Beckstar275

Wow, the Silhouette looks awesome! I would probably use it mainly for making cards and iron on shirts since I love to make specialized shirts for different occasions for my daughter and her friends. But it would be fun to try all of the options. In fact, there is an empty wall in my spare room that could really use some of the wall decor!

    • Victoria

My kids ADORE crafts, so we would use it a ton for that. This could keep them very busy for the rest of the summer. Also, it would be great for school projects! And finally, I am 6 years (!) behind on my scrapbooking, so maybe this would help me get my behind in gear and catch up!

      You rock, Jenny!

    • Stacia

i WOULD USE IT FOR SCHOOL PROJECTS. THEY ARE LOTS OF FUN!

    • Mary

Sounds like something that would be great to use for homeschooling projects and for scrapbooking. Awesome that you give so much to others. Thanks for sharing.

I would use it to recyle all the half pages of paper printing coupons to make fun things for my kids and gifts using the writing on glass option. soooo exciting! I would also use it to FINALLY do my scrapbook projects that just keep mounting for the last 20 years in photo boxes!

    • Busymommy628

I would use the Silhouette in the History classes I teach homeschool students (I have 50 of them!) during the school year. Talk about making History come alive- the possibilities are endless. Timelines, campaign and propaganda posters from the Revolutionaries and Founding Fathers, project boards, …my brain is starting to smoke!

    • Quebella12

I would use it in my many baby albums….mother of 2 can always use something like this, have never used one before looks neat

    • Becky

I would use it to make “Welcome Home Daddy” Tshirts for my husband's homecoming from deployment. They are so expensive to buy when you want a custom shirt, not to mention the shipping. I would then make all my friends the tshirts for their kids as well!! Didn't know such a device existed!

    • Stephaniekohls1

By far my favorite giveaway!! OH the possibilities :))) I would finally make a wall in our kitchen into a calender for more organization for the kids. AHHHHH

    • jessikaw

oh wow, i'm drooling! i would love one to expand on my new endeavor into scrapbooking not to mention all the fun things my girls can make with it. the possibilities are infinite!

    • Christy Bain

This would be great to use in my classroom! Our school has a limited budget and very little financial support from our parents (although they do support us in other ways). This would be very useful for making manipulatives and learning games. During the summer, I would use it at home with my own two kids. Thanks!

    • S. Jefferson

I would like to winn the Silhouette for my children and church. I'm pretty creative. This would just take it a step further.
      Thanks.

    • Vicro_ms

Since I have no artistic ability I would love to have one to decorate my granddaughter's room and do fun stuff with her, like start a cool photo album and maybe even teach her scrapbooking.

    • Cwetherb

I would love to win the Silhouette! There are a ton of possibilities, but I'm sure I'd do something to decorate in our new home!! Thanks

    • Karleehopehope

Spend the long hop summer days with my grandchildren having a grand ball, make goodies for Sunday School. Oh my what a wonderful item to win. AWSOME

    • Savonarola

My sister is a stained glass artisan. She frequently makes designs using silhouettes in paper that come pre-made: you in essence lime or lead it into the glass, and it makes what looks like a silhouette on the glass. They are pretty, and she is wonderful at it – but I would love to help her design her own, rather than having to work from the presets. She feels insecure about her design talents, so she loves me to design for her – but I lack the skill to make silhouettes myself (we grew up in rural Texas, and I lack in the art training department). It would be absolutely incredible to be able to create my own cut designs for her work!

    • I would use it to make the picture for the girls room

    • DianaY19

I would use this to make cards for every occasion. The cards you buy in the store are so expensive and handmade cards are so fun.

    • Wow! I would love to have these! I would use it to do lots of wall decor in every room in the house!! And then there's the car, etc….

    • Erika E

I so want to win this! I'd love to use it to make vinyl wall decor. We just finished painting and i'm looking for ways to decorate!

    • Kristen

My daughter and i have craft time every monday. This would def help expand our projects!!

    • Leslie

I teach at the preschool at my church. We do not have a die cut machine, so we have to take paper to The School Box to get things cut. We could certainly use something like this! All the teachers would be VERY grateful!!

    • Jenn @ One House Schoolroom

We would love to win this- we are homeschoolers and I am sure I would find tons of great uses for it…. lapbooks, notebooking, file folder games, etc.

      Thanks for the great giveaway!!

    • megan p

    • Donna Crowdus

My 12 year old daughter is very crafty and she loves doing scrapbooking.. I would love to win this and give it to her.

    • Christy Franklin

I have been coveting the Silhouette!
I run a small monogramming business on the side of my regular job. The extra money I make helps us take the kids on vacation and we are trying to save the money to have our basement finished so we can have a playroom for the kids.
Recently I got a new embroidery machine so I can do more jobs and do them faster. I want to do the extra work faster so I don't have to take too much time away from my kids. If I had a new Silouette I could expand the monogramming business.
It would be a blessing. My husband is in sales and his job is fragile at best. If I could expand my home business and hopefully improve our financial outlook.

    • Brandy

I would use the Silhouette to create learning games and other materials for my 3 children. We will be homeschooling next year and this would be such a time saving tool.

    • Crystal

I am a new mommy with 8 months worth of keepsakes and pictures that need to go into a scrapbook or baby book, it would be awesome to have a new toy to play with that would motivate me to get it done! It would also be nice to get something new for myself…does not happen much these days lol.

    • Angie

Oh the possibilities!!!! I can see LOTS of fun stuff to help with my two sons' preschool classes. :)

    • Kimberly

This will be my first year teaching school. I would LOVE to have this in my classroom to create designs for the kid's projects! This would be very useful, and well used!

    • Nwilliams313

I would use the Stilhouette to decorate my son's “big boy” room and the nursery that we are going to need next year. I would also love to use it for learning activities and craft times with the kiddos!

    • Connie

I have BOXES and BOXES of pictures and have never created an actual scrapbook. I'd love to be able to get together with my sisters and my kids and grandkids and see what we could create. With the versatility of this machine, we could do a different type of craft with it each time we get together!! It would definitely be a fun and memory-making experience!

    • Rachel

I would give it to my father-in-law who makes his own Christmas cards.

    • Michelle

Wow I could use the Silhoutte in so many ways! For crafts, home decor, school projects, the list goes on and on!!

    • Kmmetka

I have wanted one of these for so long! I am a teacher so I would use it for school but I would also use it for my own children. How cool would it be to put the words we are working on during the week on their bathroom mirror for them to see while they are bathing or brushing their teeth!

    • Tsdixon

I would use the Silhouette to make custom cards for birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions, etc..

I need the make bulletin board stuff for our church. Will totally save me time

    • I would love to start scrapbooking

    • Stacy

oooh, so exciting. I am a huge paper crafter. I would use it to make elements for my homemade greeting cards!

    • I would use it to support the special education classrooms that I facilitate. We would use it to create visual prompts, craft shapes, bulletin boards and other educational materials. Working for a large district like Metro Nashville, there is minimum money for supplies and this would help greatly.

    • I Marycatherine

My family & friends ask me to make wedding programs. I make it part of my gift to them. For my SIL's wedding last fall I cut out 150 2-inch hearts by hand! I love to do them, but boy does my hand hurt by the end of all that! It would help me do more of these without aching hands!

    • Ucfmissy

This would be great for me. I like to make my own cards, scrapbook everything in my life and make things for my kids all the time!

    • Louis

My mom is a Pre K teacher. I would give it to her. It would be perfect for projects with the kids!

    • Jodi

I would use it to make greeting cards and scrapbooking too!

    • Ledlab

I work for an early intervention program that serves children birth to 3 who have delays in their development. This would save us so much time preparing for crafts. Our parents really enjoy and cherish all the sweet little crafts that they recieve!!

    • Prayingmama7

Yes, I would love to win a Silhouette; and here are a few things I would make with it for fun and to save money.
      1. Sympathy Cards- My husband is the best giver of cards and hates to miss sending a sympathy card to our friends or family that has suffered an illness or loss and needs an uplifting word. I try to go with him to the store because he gets carried away and buys many cards at once…that really adds up. I save my CVS bucks as long as I can for him. This would also apply for happy occasions too. I have received 2-3 birthday cards at a time from him. He's the best!

      2. I would also do the heat transfers. We have 7 kids! They think the only place to buy t-shirts is from the mall. I could be rich making shirts and just selling to them!

      3. I would also attempt labeling or etching my canning items, jams, jellies, etc. I could print something on the material to go around the lids. Monogram…from the garden of…..

      4. of Course, Christmas cards. I searched 3 drug stores last year to print cards up and was hard pressed to find a card that had anything to do with the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for which the holiday is about. Maybe this one should be number one on my list.
Anyway, there are just a few of my ideas for the Silhouette Ditigal Cutter that I would attempt. Only lack of time will keep me from trying all the things it can do! Thank you SS for helping me save money. I have saved lots and am very grateful! :)

    • Kristin

Oh my gosh I would LOVE this. I love to do crafts. One thing I want to start doing is making cards so this sounds like it would be a lot of help.

    • Robin

Thanks again for Southern Savers and all the helpful info!

    • NashvilleCanuck

These machines are great! My sister makes cake templates (characters, names, flowers, etc.) and cuts the designs from fondant for special birthay cakes. This would make the template part of the process super simple for her.

I would use this to cut out accents for my scrapbooks. I do scrapbooks for both my children and those stickers can get PRICEY!!!!!

    • If I could get my hands on a Silhouette, I would love to use it for my card making. Other digital cutters out there don't compare to the Silhouette because you are only limited by your imagination, not the images on a cartridge.

    • Melissa

I would enjoy using it with my four year old daughters. They love crafts and would have a blast with this.

    • Stephenie

He always uses milk jugs to make his tea in and I know he would love this gift!!

    • Addis001

Definitely some Martha Stewart crafts out of her book that I own.. but also puppets for my infant son. I would also want to make designs for tote bags. I could make a special tote bag for everyone in the family

    • Tarheel Grandma

With all of the school cutbacks in our areas, I would love to win one of the Silhouette Digital Cutters for my daughters to use for my grandchildren. • Lana

I would love to have a Silhouette to help me with crafting projects I sell. I am 57 years old with bad knees and hips and just laid off. This area was hit hard with unemployment since it depends so much on the housing industry. Crafting is something I can do at home and believe me I have so many ideas! This area is so competitive in crafts and I am just starting, but the Silhouette would give me the opportunity to compete and expand my ideas. Thanks to Southern Savers it is so much easier to save on each shopping trip!

    • Carrie

I would use to make crafts with my 3 year old little girl. I would love to also start scrapbooking…this has been a goal of mine for a long time and I think a new gadget would motivate me to get started. There are many pictures I need to make a place for but most importantly I need to put pictures of my mom(she passed away 4 years ago 4 months before my wedding) in a book so my little girl will be able to see who her grandma in heaven is.

Craft time for the kiddos and scrapbooking

    • Mary

It's hard to pick just one way I would use this, since there are so many options. But, I'd have to say I would probably most use it for scrapbooking. I love crafts and had tried scrapbooking a few years ago but couldn't really get into it. But I have recently given it another try and have strong motivation to do it — children! I am currently working on a memory book for my son, who died of SIDS earlier this year, and I hope to go back and work on a book for my 2 year old daughter as well.

    • sbrittain

I will finally start my son's scrapbook–He's only 4 now:(

Our church has frequent potlucks and teas that I decorate for using various themes. To keep costs down, I bought 50 clear class hurricain globes that I decorate on the inside according to the theme of the day. For example, I used candy birds eggs on artificial grass with a candle in the middle for Spring. I would use the Silhouette to create plastic stencils for “etching” the globes using removable, frosted paint or create a faux stained glass look using stencils of holiday icons. What fun!

    • I would use to cut designs and sentiments for my new favorite craft: card making. I just started last month so this would be perfect. Hoping hoping hoping i win.

My little boy is 4 months old, and I'm planning to have his silhouette drawn every year as he grows up: I know there are artists that do this sort of thing, but it can be quite pricey. I want to either create a display on one of our walls or either create a scrapbook especially for this purpose. I'm sure there are lots of creative things like this that you could do with this machine!

This is the machine of my dreams! I am a Media Specialist at a K-5 school which is the oldest elementary school in the county. Last year was my first year there and it took me all year to get books and materials of the library in order so students and teachers could find and use information. Needless to say, the Media Specialist before me left the place in a bit of a shamble.
My goal for this year is to work on having a welcoming environment and the overall decor. I would love to use this machine to bring a bit of life and love of reading back into our community media center by using the vinyl decor and school project ideas from the site! Winning something like this would be a dream come true. It's first use would be to help my rising 8th grader with multitudes of school projects. It would be a tremendous help getting past some of his perfectionism when he's tracing because he doesn't think he can draw. This part of his autism really drags out his projects. It would also be a major help in him making his own suncatcher designs for his craft business. I would like to use it as well for helping develop some of my dreams into actual crafts such as cardmaking, scrapbooking, making designs for fabric painting, and other homemade gifts. Any way to help the family budget from stretch a little farther.

    • Summer Williams

If I won it, I would scrapbook, make cards and decorate. I have an 8 month old, and she could soooooo use some more cute decorations in her room!!!!! (IcouponJesussaves)

With 5 children ages 2, 4, 13, 16 and 17 we have alot going on. I take tons of pictures and do lots of things with them for family and friends. It would be awesome to have so I could do more with my photos and be a little more creative with my scrapbooking. I am afraid to spend all the money on the Cutters since all of the accessories are additional money. I believe this would benefit me by motivating me to get more of those photos out of boxes and into books where they could be easily enjoyed at a quicker rate. Thanks and I love all the great deals and opportunities that SOUTHERN SAVERS provides.

If I won, and got the chance to give my mom the gift she really wants, it would just make her world :] Thanks so much for this opportunity!

    • ssphillips271

Jenny – I have 11-year old triplets who I scrapbook. They also like to scrapbook and create art projects. But I can never find the right die cut shapes/letters in my supplies so I end up putting everything away until later. My family enjoys looking at our family moments through scrapbooks and the Silhouette would help me create albums to reflect on fun times. I also teach children with special needs and they would enjoy this also. It would be great to decorate my classroom and make fun learning games for my students. This would be a wonderful time and money saver. Thank you for your giveaway!

    • Michele Tidwell

My husband and I along with our five children are always looking for ways to spread the gospel to the people we come in contact with everyday. We would use this to come up with some catchy and thought provoking sayings, questions and scripture to put on t-shirts and bags that would hopefully engage the people we are around during the day. • Rebecca

My oldest little girl of 8 has <3 'd t-shirts with pictures or writing since she was toddler age. Just last week, she took her favorite 1980's “Larry Bird' tee, that her daddy gave her to camp. She was a “favorite” among the camp directors because of that worn-out old ,shirt! LOL! She, along with her 3 younger siblings could use some “fresh” t-shirts in their wardrobe I think! Thanks! :)

    • Landoffour

I would actually donate it to my daughters Christian School. Our school is only in its third year and very limited in the extras it can afford. This would be a great way for me to use it to volunteer at the school and would be so much fun for our students!

    • Shans

I would totally cut out phrases w/vinyl to put on the walls of our new house. I had a cricut but had to sell it to help cover some expenses we incured when our storage unit flooded here in Nashville.

    • amyinsc

Wow! This thing seems fabulous! I'm not very crafty, but this may help me in a HUGE way! :) I think my first project would be something fun to put on the walls in my childrens' rooms. Something in pink and green for my daughter and light blue and green for my son. :) FUN!

    • Susan in Cumming GA

I am really active in a non-profit mom's group and would love to have the Silhouette to help with projects we do out in the community. We have adopted a nursing home and regularly contribute to a battered women's shelter and send goodies to the troops overseas. Having this nifty gadget would help us make some really cool things!!

Crafts not only bring joy to my life but also to the people I make them for and give away too,
I would make something for my nursing home friends because they are so special and true.
Just a small simple craft brings a smile on their face,
And that is what makes for the happiness you truly can't erase.

    • Lots of fun for me and my Grandbabies!

    • Bethjrhea

I would use it for so many things, my kids, church, as room mother at school, sports teams, etc. Personalized gifts for everyone!

    • Wsjc2007

The first idea that came to mind when I saw this machine would be to make great little tote bags as party favors for birthday parties. Buy inexpensive bags and put any design on them to suit the theme of the party. You could actually take that a step further and instead of using paper gift bags make tote bags to put presents in. I also love the idea of making matching t shirts for my daughter's classmates to wear on field trips.

    • Carissaengle

As a teacher I would find endless uses for this. I especially like the vinyl work decor. How cool would it be to write your students names and then plaster them on the walls. They would love it.

    • Susan

I'll bet your stick figures are better than mine! I don't have a creative bone in my body but would love to become an artsy-craftsy kind of mom to my 3 children. I enjoy dressing my kids in matching outfits and would love to make cute “Big Sister” and “Little Brother” shirts.

    • Jessica

    • Jennifer T.

Oh Wow!! How can I come up with one thing I would use it for? Well… if I wanted to drive my hubby crazy while he is in Iraq, I would use it to make cutesy signs to decorate his room and have the other guys tease him… j/k!!

I would use it to make vinyl signs… I would LOVE it!!!

    • I'm a new teacher and I could find many uses for this in my classroom. This could help me get organized and increase my creativity. This could also be used to help personalize my classroom. I'd love to be able to make personalized gifts for my students. Also as a single teacher I don't make a whole lot. This could be a great tool for a second income.

    • Lbell

As a high school math teacher the possibilties with this machine would be endless. My students love recognition. This machine would make ALL their names in a snap. I am recieving no fee allocation money this year, or last year, so this would be tremendous for my class. The first thing I would make is T-shirts for the math team.

    • Ivy

I am an the art teacher in a Title 1 (low income) school in Charleston. I teach 650 elementary students. I have not been allowed to purchase any art supplies for the past 3 years. I spend an average of 1700 dollars each year on supplies for my classroom. I even buy basics like crayons when they go on sale each year.
Anyway, I am very technology oriented and this machine looks super exciting! I would work the Silhouette Digital Cutter into my curriculum by creating projects geared to help my students understand our art and core classroom standards. This would help enhance the learning of basic subjects for my students. After creating these images we would be able to then make and sell items (printed bandannas, tee shirts, tote bags, wall decals, etc) in order to raise money for supplies. I know this would help raise my students' enthusiasm about learning. Thank you for your time and congratulations to the winner.

    • gracie1

My children are grown, my grandchildren in another state, and hubby and I — well, our memory isn't what it used to be. I would use it to cunningly and decoratively label our names on our foreheads, our address on our shoes, and our anniversary on his bathroom mirror ! LOL!

I would also do some T-shirts (or something) for a local charity (maybe as prizes for raffle drawings or sell them at fundraisers). There are endless possibilities. Thanks for this give away!!!

    • Aubrey M.

I love crafting, so I would probably use this to the fullest extent — and I would have fun figuring out all the cool stuff it does. The iron-on t-shirts would be a cool idea, and I've also seen some neat glass etching projects that can be done with it.

      Maria T O

I still have high hopes of winning the $20,000 Party Prize Package from Jose Ole. For our twenty three family members we would each have a shirt to identify our family's reunion. I can also think of many other uses, such as replacing the decals on our old motorhome.

I would also produce clothing items for each of the nine grandchildren. I am constantly promising to make them a Meme designed dress, but haven't had the energy to sew a complete outfit. I think I could manage a personalized shirt or nine!

Hi jenny, I would love one of these cutters! The first thing I would use it for would be to make wall decals of Spiderman for my little guys room.

    • Christine

Wow! So many uses!!! First I'd use them for my homeschool group for field trip tees shirts and a variety of projects. Matching shirts for a family gathering is always fun! as well. It would also come in handy for gifts. Money is tight and gifts made from the heart are the best. This would make it extra special!

I love the etched glass!! I can think of several glass items that I would monogram!

I would use it to help my church Youth Group make T-shirts and other items to sell and use as a fundraiser. I could also help our Missions Team. Plus just really neat to have one available for fun crafts at home. This is an awesome offer and might not have the right words to offer but I would be so happy to win this item and help my church Youth Group.

All my 5 year old daughter Journey wants to do is crafts. My wife and I are not very crafty, so I would love to win this for her. Any help in this dept would be stupendous!!!! Thanks SS.

I love crafting and I need something like this to make it easier. I would definitely start making my little girls birthday invitations instead of paying so much for them.

    • Teresa

I would love to have one of these!!! Would be great to make gifts.

    • Deborah

Never saw anything like it- would love to have one I know my granddaughters would love it also. Thanks for introducing great items.

    • Jennifer

I love making tshirts for my kids and because we live in a rental, we could use this for decorating the wall!!

    • Crazet

I am not crafty at all, but I have a daughter who could come up with many uses for one of these. Who knows what she would start with.

    • Joellen

This cutter is awesome! I would love to make t-shirts for all my grandchildren. They will be having new little brothers added to their families and it would be fun to make Big Sister/Big Brother T-shirts for them. Buying them can get expensive!

    • Katsaves

So cool!!! My kids and I would have so much fun doing crafts, making tshirts and birthday invitations, not to mention tht I am a sucker for an awesome gadget. Who needs an iPad when you can create your own paper zoo at home? The possibilities are endless!!!

    • Scott Regnier

This machine is neat! My daughter wants to have t-shirts made for her “horse” show buddies and this would be ideal to make personalized t-shirts but to “cut” the cost of having someone else make them. This would not only save $ but give my daughter something she is passionate about to do this summer. Housework doesn't have much passion with her but she does do it. HaHa!

I think the Silhouette is so cool. I looked at the site and can't believe everything you can do with it. I would sure be able to make a gift for everyone and then some on my Christmas list.
No one would believe i did it myself. It could cover all gifts and decorating for all the holidays.

I have four kids and am pregnant with my fifth! I would make cute matching t-shirts! Especially since my four are girls and we are hoping for a boy.. I would come up with some cute, catchy phrased ones for the family!!

    • Scchelle

I would love to have one to make more personal and meaningful gifts for friends and family. Using creativity to make special gifts for people is rewarding!
