I’ve been working on something for the last few weeks and am excited to finally share!  We’ve started a new weekly podcast series!  The show is called The Frugal House as I don’t want to just discuss couponing, but saving money on everything.

This week we are talking saving on summer camp and summer activities.  This can break the budget for any family, so it’s great to figure out ways to cut costs.  Did you know that you can possibly claim summer camp on your taxes?  Or that you can get discounts and scholarships?  We talked with a financial planner and camp director on figuring out all the ways to save.  We also learned a lot about what to look for in a camp, and questions to ask a summer camp before sending your kids.

For everyone that is keeping kids at home we discussed great free and cheap summer activities.  You could basically make your own great summer camp for nothing with all the activities around town!

Download the episode and listen on the go.

A huge thanks to my experts this week, Neil Brown from Burkett Financial Services and Grant Bullard Camp director at Gwynn Valley Camp.
