If I use my WorkLife Rewards, expires tomorrow, to purchase these batteries will I earn the rewards for this purchase as well? I thought I read somewhere that if I used my rewards then I would not earn more.

      • Darlenecary

I spoke with the Corp office. You cannot use Worklife Rewards toward worklife promotions you will not get the new reward dollars.

    • Amy L

Last year they wouldn't let you use ANY coupons b/c the Rewards makes them free! Just an FYI

    • Rileyandbraydensmom

so do you buy them and they give you a instore credit for that amount or cashback or mail in rebate or what??

    • Leigh

Go thru Ebates? Will it help?

    • Ginger

If you played the Office Depot holiday game yesterday, the coupon was 3.00 off these batteries, I'm pretty sure. At least, mine was.

      • Ammshorty29

The coupon I got was for $3.00 off a 10 pack. Looks like you have to buy a 20 pack.

Isnt this what they offered in the middle of November and then didn't come through on? I bought 50 bucks worth of batteries and got fifty CENTS in rewards, even though it said “100%”.

I am on the phone with Office Depot checking on my reward points now. If you go to this link you can see all of the promotions and what does qualify for the worklife rewards. The customer service rep advised that the standard 1% will show online, but the full amount should show in 4 – 6 weeks. Since the rewards are given quarterly, the full amount should show on the next check after the Dec 31st cut-off

Thank you so much! You took a weight off my mind! I felt like I had wasted money when so many other stores had the batteries for a much cheaper price! You made my day! Thank you!!!!

I had trouble using coupons at both stores. In the end the coupons were forced through one way or another (Office Depot did a price mod which I pray won't affect my rewards – I'm not opening the batteries until it clears, just in case) and at Staples they finally figured out they have to type the coupon amount before scanning it, or something. But this was after an assistant manager was called, and immediately got snippy with me, saying “It's because you're using two, and the coupon says one per purchase.” I countered with, “…How does it know I'm using two? The first one won't even go through. It's obviously something else.” And I proceeded to explain the difference between “purchase” and “transaction” but she didn't want to hear it. When they figured it out she apologized and said, “she was right” to the cashier, in a very half-assed apology. Man, it was like the old days of bickering with CVS staff over coupons back in 2006, and it didn't feel good. I don't like having to go through that.

I couldn't use coupons at Staples. Guy was a little annoyed that I tried but oh well. I still got them anyway. They should allow coupons on this. They get reimbursed from the manufacturer anyway. It's not a loss for them and it was awkward at checkout but…still a good deal….

      • Fgavent

They took my $1.50 coupon at Staples (no problem scanning it). If I remember correctly, last year my rewards back was reduced by the coupon value used (so it doesn't help to use the coupon).

I am not familiar with Staples or Office Depot. Is it like signing up for Extra Care (CVS) and recieving ECB's? If so, do I just need to go sign up for the rewards, bring in my rewards card/temp card/whatever I need, buy the batteries and get back reward points I can use on a future purchase? Can I turn around and use the points and buy more batteries on a 2nd transaction?
