Wait a second…I have read several times on other comments that if you use Staples Rewards to pay for something that has an Easy Rebate, you only get a rebate on any cash that you use. So, if you pay for all of it with Rewards, you won’t get any Rebate. Can someone confirm or deny this?

      • Couponing_Rocks!

I paid for some paper one day that had a rebate with rewards & I got the full rebate with no problem.

        • Coffeegirl

          Cool! Thanks for the info!

          • Daphneedwards01

I just bought most the easy rebate and other free items… and NO rebates printed out.  So, Fayetteville NC does not offer these specials.  I will return the items.

            • Anonymous

Call the store to inquire first.  The Sandy Springs, GA store didn’t print the BIC Mark-It markers so I tried to find it on-line (e-chatting w/Staples) who said there was no rebate.  I called the store and they said there was a rebate, so I was told to bring my receipt back w/the products.  It’ll cost me more in gas than the rebate, but I’m going anyway.  Weird that the online customer service couldn’t find it.  Just to check it, I tried to find the rebate for the gel pens online and they couldn’t find that either, even though the store printed the rebate. All of that to say call the store, they may honor it.  An above post gave the rebate number for the BIC markers:  11-60731.

      • guest

That is not true.  If you pay with Staple Rewards, you will not earn credit towards your monthly rewards, but it does not effect your rebate at all.  You will get 100% of the rebate offered regardless of how you pay for the item.

What area/zip code is this ad for?

      • I pulled the deals from Columbia, SC & Atlanta, GA hoping to catch most of what’s available in the South East.

    • Essence100

How does Staples rewards program work?

      • Staples Rewards: You get 10% back on all ink, paper, and copy-print center purchases as well as the ability to recycle old ink cartridges for $2 back, max of 10 a month.

End of the month, your earned rewards are calculated. Then the week or two of the following month, you receive an email with a printable portion containing a scannable barcode with an attributed amount – it’s used just like a $-off coupon, or like a Staples cash card, towards any product in the store!

Recyclebank has $10 off $50 purchase for 60 points.

just a warning to my fellow couponers: i went to staples last week and was told I cannot use the bic coupons on sale items because the coupon said, ‘cannot be combined with any other offer’. i proceded to tell the cashier that that means you cannot use more than two coupons on the same product. she told me i was wroong. i wasn’t in the mood for fighting with the manager, so, i didn’t use the coupon. just wanted to let ya’ll know it’s possible to anticpiate problems such as these.

      • Judy

We did the B2G1 Free Bic pens deal today after a crazy amount of back-and-forth with the cashier!  The cashier told me basically the same thing they told you.. he said you can’t use a coupon on a sale item (uh-huh..right ;)). Finally the store manager came over and said that it wasn’t that the coupon wouldn’t work and that they did take mfq but it was the Staples registers that were not set up to work properly when this kind of transaction presented itself.  After he pushed many buttons he eventually rang the mfq as a staples coupon (don’t know why) & we (my mom & I) left the store with 3 free pens each.  I think we would all be better off to just price match at Wal-Mart and be happy with 2 packs of free pens… way less hassle.  BTW the Store Manager was great and very patient….he even thanked us for our patience.  So, we got what we wanted, but I’d think I’ll use the rest of my coupons at Wal-Mart.

        • Anonymous

Staples registers don’t split the total price 3-ways, like say, a BOGO at a grocery store is really 2 items at 50% each. 2 of the pens ring up at the full price and the third is $0.00, rendering a coupon useless on the third item.

Manufacturer’s coupons, let’s say $1/2 – is rung up to take $1 off of one of the two items.

Staples coupons, the value is split among the items. This is actually to prevent people from using a high-value Staples coupon and returning the items, getting back the full price paid.

          hope i helped!

    • Rellybean

Can you order the specials online?  Or do you have to go into a store?

      • Smorris2005

Most are in-store only.  Especially the Sunday-Wednesday deals.

    • guest

Is the $5 min purchase to get the extreme deals before coupons or after?

      • After coupons. But all of the free-after-rebates deals would work!

        • Lori P. :)

The store should count the $5 minimum before coupons.  That’s the way it’s always worked for me :)

    • The pastel paper isn’t showing up in my ad. I got my hopes up.

    • Ashweb

was intrigued by the Pentel Wow! Sparkle pen easy rebate, but the Staples site says it cannot find that rebate form….

      • Angelascoupons1

No rebate for the bic permanent markers…very frustrating as I did not realize this until after I had purchased. Also if you got the recyclebank coupon for $10 off $50, be aware that HP ink is excluded. It is in the fine print on the coupon but not on recyclebank’s site. So, I could not use it today b/c the ink was helping me get to $50. Somewhat of a bummer trip today….

There is a rebate for the Bic Mark-It but it needed to be manually printed out.  The rebate number for this 11-60731.  They manually did all of this for me.  I hope this helps you. :)

The Chattanooga area doesn’t even have a sales ad this week for Staples.  I couldn’t find one online & I went to the store after church and they confirmed there was no sales ad this week / no additional sales.

    • Kimtate35603

Decatur, AL has no ad, they didnt have signs hung yet. CS had orange sheet, checked for me- no pastel, no BIC, also the penny items were not ringing up as penny. Tape dispensers not .50, old tags were still hanging, could have argued that, but didn’t really need them anyway. Twisted erasers did ring up .50.

    • Wdtcagent

Also, not able to find easy rebate for BIC Mark-it Permanent Markers or Pentel WOW Sparkle Gel Pens?  Our store also did not have the staples 1 subject notebook for 19 cents – they were 50 cents.  I’m in the central Florida area.

      • Anonymous

The store in Sandy Springs, GA had 70 sheet notebooks marked $.50 also, and the vinyl covered ones marked $.99 (I think), but the paper ad in the store had the $.19 price w/$5 purchase (for the vinyl ones) and it rang up correctly.  However, they did not have the filler paper at all!  And the rebate for the BIC Mark-it markers didn’t print out and I couldn’t find it when I got home on their webpage.  Even “e-chatted” w/Staples and was told there was no rebate.  Called the store who confirmed there was a rebate so I have to go back w/receipt to get it!  What a hassle!  It’ll cost me more than the rebate in gas to get back there.  But I’m going in hope they’ll make it worth my while.

Just got home from Staples in Marietta, GA.  Store was out of most things, looked like it had not been stocked in a while.  But, I found both types of photo paper and the Pentel Pens.  They had the notebooks, the ones for 19 cents have a vinyl cover.  The only thing I could not find that I wanted was the pastel paper and I may try later this week to find it.  Came home and did rebates for pens and paper with no problem.

    • Shortgalal

There is no sales ad in Madison, AL either.  I went in just in case there were some unadvertised deals, but did not see any of these sales or deals.

    • Lori P. :)

No ad in the Hixson TN store…they still had the $.50 sign up for the Bic Pens, but they rang up $3.99.   The salesgirl (a previous student of mine lol) said that the $.50 sale went off yesterday.  I asked her if the store policy was to honor the sales price if it was still posted on the item.  She called the manager over and he said he could either honor the $.50 price or the B2G1 special because the register wasn’t set up to allow both.

I told her to just ring up 2 packs of pens and I used a $1/2 coupon and left it at that.  I’ll use the other BIC coupons another time.

      • r. magee

I’m wondering if the Bic pens for $.50 and the tape for $.50 is a regional thing.  The store I went to didn’t have either at that price and they checked them to see if they were miss labled. But both came up at a different price.

However, I was going to add a scenario for the BIC products.  I tried it this morning and it worked just like I thought it would.
        Buy:
        (1)Bic Mark-It Permanent Markers, 5 pk, $3
        (5)BIC Brite Liner Highlighters, B2G1 at $1
        Use:
(3)$1/2 Bic stationery products, SS 7/31

You end up getting 2 of the Highlighters for FREE from the B2G1 sale + get $3 off from the BIC qs.  So in all you get $5 off of your total.  Meaning, you get all 6 products for the same price you would pay for the permanent markers.  You then turn around and file for the rebate on the Markers and you end up, in theory, paying $.50 for all 6 products.  (I say in theory because I haven’t gotten my rebate check yet. So, I don’t know if this works quite as nicely as I’ve described, but according to my reciept it should work out perfactly.)  Good luck and don’t forget to attach your BIC UPC lables to the little “form” to the right of the BIC coupon SS 7/31 and turn it in to your local school for an extra 25 lable for eductation points!

      A) Scotch Magic Tape Dispenser is printing $1/1 (not $1/2) at the moment. You should be able to us one Q for two items to get both free.

      B) Also note that you can use manuf Q or Staples Rewards on rebate items and still get the promised rebate regardless of use of Qs (just like those in RA)

      C) Staples Rewards work as store discounts or “price reducers” (just like those in WAGS) and will not give further Rewards on the item-(Please correct me if I am wrong on this one)

      • Anonymous

C- You’re right. Let’s say you buy $50 in Ink, which would give $5 in rewards (10%) – you use $20 in rewards at the register, paying $30 for the ink. You would get $3 back from that purchase.

      • Anonymous

Is that the right item for the scotch tape coupon??

    • Anonymous

Can I use my staples rewards to buy the items that are free after staples rewards? Will I still get those rewards back? I know it works for the easy rebates…but I wasn’t sure how it worked for staples rewards products!

      • Anonymous

I just used $14 in Staples rewards to buy the 3-pack of moving & packaging tape.  The cashier told me that I will get $13.99 in Staples rewards, but it will be a quarterly reward, not monthly like the ink recycling program.  He seemed very confident, so I hope he’s right.

        • Staples rewards don’t roll. Their system is programmed to deduct the amount of any coupon from the rewards you receive, so you are better off using the rewards on the rebate items or on ink or something else you need.

    • r. magee

oh yeah, if you are in the regions that have the BIC Clic Stic pens for $.50 you can get an even better deal on all this and possibly get it all for free if you re-work the above deal :)

My ad in Columbia, SC did not show the “Other Deals” listed here.  Has anyone verified these deals?  They WERE in last week’s ad (ending Aug 20th)

    • Blair Whitworth

Are the Staples Rewards offering different by store or market?  I can’t find anything on the Staples website about them; and there was no reference in my store.

    • Anonymous

Is there a reward code for the Scotch Moving & Storage packaging tape or the Scotch Magic Eco Tape?  I’m not finding anything.
