I like your blog, you are super awesome for liking to coupon (you're right its a game) and for providing for your awesome little family!

    • Jule

Anyone know any other newspapers that have coupon in Charlotte????

      • Laura

i dont but tif you go down 51 to S. carolina you can get the paper for $1.25 plus if you need gas its cheaper. its about 5 min from carolina place mall. the place is by the flea market.

      • SD.

I buy my coupons online. it only takes her a day to send them so you can still make the weekly sales. check out “coupondede dot com”. you may have to google it.

      • Merrijg24

The Rock Hill paper (cheaper paper) has coupons but they are not as good as the Charlotte paper. I live in Fort Mill and only use the Charlotte paper coupons.

      • shaz

I am stuggling to find a good deal for charlotte too, or if anyone is in north charlote that wants to trade coupon too.I always have ones that some people are looking for :)

    • kristenk

for those of you that buy papers, i'm wondering about any hints on deciding how many to buy each week… i usually buy 4, but sometimes only 2 if it doesn't look like a good coupon week…. however, i've regretted that once or twice. do you base it on whether there are q's for things you buy often, or the number of high value q's, etc??

      • aaa

I only get 2 unless there are no good coupons. 2 is plenty to keep my pantry at the level I want for the 3 of us.

      • Gamblesonsfarms

You can always order extra inserts or specific coupons from online services or ebay.

        • shops2much

i agree,,,,in the past two weeks I have purchased dog food coupons (20 each) for 5 dollars. The savings pay for themselves and help the seller out too!

      • senoia mom

I normally buy 4-6. I base it on the coupons I KNOW for sure I will use.(dog food, Pizza, shampoo, etc) If there are enough coupons to “break even” I buy 4-6. (I have bought only 2, but always ended up regretting it later when a great deal came along)
If there are more than enough to pay me back for the paper, or on a 4 insert week, I may buy as many as 10. This is rare. and only if the expiration date is far enough out to allow me to use all of the coupons.
        For example:
I have 3 dogs, and I buy a lot of dog food. There is a 2.00 coupon in the paper for my brand. In my area, sunday papers are 2.00 on sunday. So for every paper, there is 2.00 that I know I will use, so the papers will pay for themselves. The coupons expire in 6 weeks, and I normally buy 2 bags a week. so if I buy 10, I am guaranteed to get all of my money “back”. Plus I always end up using others that I didnt think I would need or even want. AND I always have extras to swap with my friends.

        • robin

Thanks for your ideas! I hate to regret getting enough papers! I used to get the Sunday paper and had to pay $2 for it, but we finally figured out we could buy a Saturday paper for .50 and get the exact same inserts! now I can afford to get 4 for the price I was paying for 1! Love those coupons

          • emerson

where do you live that has these inserts in there sat paper

      • Couponcrystal

Kristen, I started out buying at least two papers per week (more on good weeks). However, after I got a good stockpile I cut back to one per week unless I see coupons that I absolutely KNOW I will use that will more than pay for a paper. The good thing is that here in Nashville there are several places to buy the Sunday paper for 99 cents (reg. price is $1.75). So I get one delivered and buy extras if there is at least one coupon that I have no doubt I will use (that the value is more than a $1). In Feb, I bought six one week because I knew there was an awesome coupon that was valued at $2 off that was going to get me a nearly free dogfood (the Kibbles n Bits Publix deal a couple weeks back.) Also on P&G weeks I normally buy at least two because those almost always will more than pay for the paper cost. I think you have to kind of see how many coupons you are using and decide how much stuff you need to stockpile for an 8 week rotation based on your family size. For instance if you have a family of 4, buying two papers per week probably makes the most sense…more if the coupons are awesome. If your family is 6 or 8 you would definitely want to buy more papers. I try not to wipe shelves out so buying tons of papers isn't worth it normally. HTH.

        • Carolina Coupon Mom

Why buy papers? Call around to your local hotels and find one that receives the paper that carries coupons. In my experience, they typically do not mind if you come and get the coupons on Sunday afternoon after the guests have read it.

          • katwoman

Also try your local library or if you know a someone who does the paper route they normally have papers left over. i hooked up with someone and i get 8 bundles left over each week.

          • J4kaye

I work at a hotel, and we get the local Sunday paper but they don't put coupons in them.

        • Barry

Where are some places in the Nashville area that sells the paper for 99 cents? Thanks

      • Dmaynard8596

I base mine on the P&G coupons, I temd to use a lot of them. The other two inserts are good, but I end up with way too many glade and air wick coupons. I have started buying 3 papers a week.

      • Frey April

I buy no less than 3 papers each week, but if there is a pg I buy 10 rule is a paper for each person in household

    • Beginner Mom

How do you know what coupons will be in Sunday paper? Where do you get this information?

      • Lovemy5always

    • Sherri

      • Amy

You might also try http://www.manufacturerscoupons.com. The first week a coupon is out, it is $0.10 for each, but after the first week they drop down to $0.05 each.

      • wendyc33

thanks wendyc33 i will try that:)

    • wendyc33

really? you do all that to get coupons. Why not buy your paper and help out the people who work to put those papers out for enjoyment to read. The newspaper business is going out of business for this reason and the internet. these are people with jobs.

    • Mgarcia67

Does anyone know if last sunday (04/02) in the ajc there was a RP? The one i bought only had SS. Thank you.

      • Dalmans4

No RP. Only a SS and P&G.

      • liz

I both two papers and both of them only had SS…i did not find any RP coupons..

      • tara flynn

There was Red Plum Smart Source and there was P&G

      • Katrina_stewart68

I have the same problem with the Greenville News. I have bought multiple papers and they would have different coupons from paper to another.

    • meme

What coupon insert is sent when you purchase from a coupon clip site? Is there a way to tell if the insert contains the best coupons? I know the Anderson Independent and Greenville News miss good coupons at times, so I would like to find a site that provides the best selection. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

    • eblux84

Does it seem to anyone else that Charlotte doesn't get as great of coupons as it should? For a major city, it sure seems like we're always missing coupons that Jenny lists, or they're for a lesser value. I know coupons vary by city, but for a large city like Charlotte, I'd expect better coupons. Is it just me?

      • cs

actually I dont mind the fact that they are lesser sometimes. I would rather .75 cents off then a dollar on food items, because harris teeter and bilo double those here so that makes it 1.50 off. We also seem to get alot of different coupons then she lists, and seem to be a week or 2 off for most so we do get them eventually.

      • Some of our coupons are of lower value than what are available in other places, but having seen the inserts from other areas, we definitely get way more in general. Also, ours aren't as dominated by offers for mail order miniature creepy babies, therapeutic foot products, and stretchy pants. I guess we are getting more of lower value, which is better in the long run if you ask me.

    • J4kaye

Does any one else struggle with if they should save coupons they wouldn't otherwise use? At work, we have a coupon exchange program, where we each share our coupons we won't use. However, a few times, had I saved these, I could have made a profit on one or more item I wouldn't use. Do you diehard couponers keep EVERY coupon just in case?

      • Sbdguard

I started keeping all of my coupons due to the fact I might be able to make a profit and when I do I will either give the item to someone who really needs the item or I will donate it to a charity,

      • Patricia_coleman

I do most of the shopping in my house and if i don't know anyone who needs the coupon like my friends then when i am out to the store and i over hear someone looking for something i just give them the coupon if it is for something they are looking to buy this way they don't get wasted.

      • No_Lynching

I actually save them all and when free items arise I donate them to the needy.

      • andalusia alabama

i actually try to go to the stgores on the first couple day of the sales, (also helps ensure my items are in stock), and that way i know ho wmany coupons im going to have left over for a certain item, or if the coupon is about to expire in a few days and another sale is not forthcoming, i usually always leave the coupons on the shelf next to the items they are used for. i have done this in front of associates, and never once have i heard a bad comment, in fact i even had one associate tell me she would probably pick it up in a minute to use herself, lol.

      • Fromkhadija

The coupons I thought I'd never use usually turn out to be my most valuable ones. :)

    • Lori B.

No A-1 staek sauce coupon in Greenville News. :(

      • Jnee11502

Or no Breakstone unless I am totally blind!

    • Mrsjsdugas

Only got the Red Plum in Opelika-Auburn News…. No Smartsource. The Red Plum paper only had 13 coupons, only one of which I actually use :( Disappointed.

    • Ronda

I have learned to save all coupons. This week at Walmart they have the Similac sensitive infant formula for 3.86.I had coupons for 5.00 off any Similac product.I had 8 coupons so I had an overage of almost 10.00 to come off my regular items.I don't have a baby so we took the formula straight to a charitable organization and donated them. They were so happy to see an item like this. They said they do not get things like that too often. It was win win and I felt good about it.

      • Happycouponing

That is a great idea! I am breastfeeding and don't need the formula but get them all the time. I going to donate to a local prenancy crisis center. Thanks!

    • Mandy

I found claritin coupons in the smartsource in the Austin Texas paper. There is the 2 dollar off any non drowsy, 5 dollars off any non drowsy and 7 dollars off this week only on any non drowsy. That makes for an AWESOME deal at Walgreens this week.

    • Karen Snell

I have 6 Similac coupons and they say 1 coupon per transaction. Does that mean I cannot use all 6 coupons if I buy 6 products? I'm new to this so I want to make sure before I get to the register…thx.

      • Ksswinehart

No, it just means you can't use 2 coupons per one can of formula. Hope this helps!

    • Terri

The Birmingham SS coupons are totally different. Only the Scotch Fur Fighter, ReddiWhip, Sonicare, Jergens, Gen Mills and Airwick were the same.

      • Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with our coupons this week.

        • Ashton J.

I live in Birmingham too and I never find any coupon deals that would make me want to stock pile… Is there anywhere else that you guys use that would be beneficial? I get a paper, print from here, and search at publix but still dont feel like I ever get any great deals… Please help. Thanks! :)

    • shaz

I have a whole insert of coupons for toys if anyone wants to do a trade for some P &G coupons.

    • Gracie680

I have a $3 off Bic razor and $1.50 0ff Reynolds wrap (woo hoo!) that I don't see listed in your Smart Source above… looking for the Fur Fighter, I really need that. Also, I got a Hasbro Playskool insert too?

    • klh02

Fayetteville, NC got a Hasbro Playskool insert too as well as some great coupons for Dunkin Donuts and Quizno's. Good day for a paper!!!

      • Pinkchick82686

I am in fayetteville nc too. Did you get all the above coupons? I only got a red plum and hasbro, but even the red plum did not have half of the coupons she listed here.

    • meme

The Anderson Independent Mail had Red Plum in some papers and Smart Source in some of the papers. None I found had both. That was the first time I have noticed this. Did Greenville News have both in their paper?

    • Laureen

I have decided to start spreadsheeting all of my coupon inserts because it seems like I always have/don't have ones listed on here and miss out on deals. If anyone would like a copy of the list from 4/10 SS & RP, email me at thriftylaureen@gmail.com. These are from the AJC in Cumming, GA.

    • Marliz Radecker

Our smart source had a coupon in it for Community Coffee $3.00/2 any one know if there is a way to find and print these coupons as our papers sold out early and i sure wanted more of those coupons.

    • tinalee644

Hey i'm a new to couponing and casually use them in my shopping trips but ready to step up my game since i've become a broke college student. i'm moving to the Charlotte/ Fort Mill/ Rock Hill area, are there any newspapers i should subscribe to or stick to just looking at the coupon sites? I appreciate all suggestions. Thanks!!

      • Melissa

Definitely get the Charlotte Observer on days. They have great coupons!

      • Ericaleannes

        Is this kayleigh????????
