This Sunday, 9/02, there will be NO coupon inserts.

I hope you all have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend! And don’t worry, the inserts will be back next week :)

(You can always print coupons if you are feeling down).

    • Krysta

Wow! How often does this happen? Maybe they are just taking the holiday off?

      • mdh

yes, they usually do not have inserts during a holiday weekend. It only happens a few times a year.

    • Tugghardy

I used to stop my paper the sunday befor a holiday until I found out publix ran a 5$ off coupon in it. fingers crossed!!!

      • ireneY

Is this in fla or ga, please?

    • Jessica

This is very good for me! I have a lot of catching up to do with my coupon book. Thanks Jenny!  I honestly don’t know how you do it.

      • Trish

I started using Jenny’s recommended method of saving the inserts in an accordian file and only clipping what I need and it has saved me TONS of time cutting and filing. You might want to consider it if you’re getting bogged down…I think she may have a video link on here explaining how to do it that way. ( :

        • LuvthisStuff

yup , I switched as well. It was frustrating spending hours Pulling exp. ones then filling it back with coupons that only lsted 3 weeks… It’s so much easier Filing by insert date…

          • Jessica

The problem is that I find at least 2 or 3 deals every time I go to the store that I wouldn’t have clipped the coupon for.  I have to have those coupons!!!

            • Athrasher

I file the inserts also but I do have a binder for the coupons that get clipped and not used or ones that I get in the mail or whatever.  I keep the inserts in an expanding type of file by date and then put them in a plastic file storage box/bin that snaps closed and has a handle to carry it (it can get heavy though!!). I actually keep this in my car most of the time. This way if I need a coupon at the store I can just run outside and get it from the car. I will also print a list of the coupons that come out each week from what Jenny posts on here and put it with those inserts.  I carry the storage bin inside the house about once a month to clean out the expired inserts. I know it’s a bit silly to keep coupons in my car but this is what works for me.  Sometimes I will take like a reusable publix cloth bag in the store w/ me and just put a couple of the newest inserts in it just incase i need a coupon I didn’t clip. I think it’s different for everyone as far as what works for them.  I could never clip coupons every sunday and file them and keep up with a binder like that!!

Thanks for the reminder…I just suspended my subscription to skip this weekend’s paper. I don’t understand why they skip holiday weekends since that’s when most of us have more time to work on our coupons, but I’m also happy to have a break!

      • Joseph Be

I think they skip holiday weekends thinking a lot of people are traveling, visiting family, etc., and in turn less newspapers will be sold/distributed.

There is a $2 off $2 or more meat purchase in the Tampa Tribune today.  Makes it worth the paper.  In the Metro Section on the back page.

I soooo should have checked this site before Sunday.  First off I can skip holiday weekends in the future.  Second I won’t end up flying off the handle because I just KNEW one of my neighbors stole my inserts (my paper went missing a couple weeks ago, I thought this was the second offense).  I’m turning into crazy coupon lady.

    • Cara

Thank you for posting this.  Thursday is my night to clip coupons for Friday shopping, and I thought I had accidentally thrown my coupons out with the recycling — I was goin’ CRAZY.  Thanks for letting me know I’m not … in this case.
