    • Amierenee

All of my banana boat q's say “excludes lip balm” darnit. :o(

      • Coupongal18

But, you have to buy more than just a lip balm to get the deal so you can use your coupon for the Aloe

    • Ashley

How do you get your gift card? I have never done one of these deals. Can you do the Banana Boat and the Hawaiin Tropic in the same order?

      • tygirl13

The cashier will give it to you during checkout.  You can't use it until the next transaction…I've asked before :-)  HTH

      • Hscrafty

When your items are rung up, the cashier will activate a gift card and give it to you with your paid items.  I believe using the just-activated card is never allowed on that transaction.  You must save it for the next one. There may be a limit on the deal, such as one per customer per transaction, but I haven't seen the official deal listing to know.  You might be able to do one deal, get the GC, then use it to pay for the next deal.

    • Coupongal18

But, you have to buy more than just a lip balm to get the deal so you can use your coupon for the Aloe

    • Mrpritchetts

the coupon for banana boat sunscreeen is for CVS.

    • laBreeze

That Hawaiian Tropic Q listed from May All You is also excluding lip balm.  I don't have the $2 Q, but I'd be surprised if it included lip balm, being an higher value Q.

    • br

I bet they will all be gone today.   People shouldn't hoard up the stuff or sell it at the flea market, ya know!

      • Beepampered

With three kids,  boat, neighborhood pool and living in the South, buying a bunch of sunscreen is not hoarding. I have a container in the boat, pool bag, each car, and a few extras for when they run out and to get me through the summer.

I agree that they will be gone soon, but it's only  because it's a great deal and a real neccessity, perhaps not because of greed. Thanks Jenny for the post, hopefully I will be able to get there before it's out.

        • Angelascoupons1

While many of us are not hoarding and have legit reasons for stocking up, I Know what the person means about flea markets. I had a guy who works at my Harris Tester tell me his sister buys all kinds of non food items to resell at flea markets! That stuff just kills me!

        • Gillyp3864

If I can use it or donate or gift bag-it, I buy multiples. Period.

    • Ginger9702

I cannot find Hawaiian Tropic or Banana Boat coupons in the SS 5/22 insert.  I have 2 inserts and neither has them.   ????

      • Ginger9702

Also Banana Boat “Printable” link goes straight to CVS. ??????

    • Vrigina oliver

      ok ………….

    • Jan owen

Can we still use the Banana Boat printable coupon? It's for CVS. Does Target accept those?

      • Val

No. I guess it's just an error in the coupon database. It's a store coupon not a manufacturer.

    • S_CarolinaGirl

I am glad to see that you included “(fine print: items must at least equal the value of the gift card)”.  I tried to tell someone a fellow couponer about the “fine print” one time when I did not receive a gift card, and the person argued with me telling me I must have misread the information.  It was so frustrating knowing I was right.

    • Lori

Just wanted to let you know that the All You q's expired 5/27.

      • ReneeD

The Banana Boat All You Q's expired on 5/27 but there were Hawaiian Tropic ones in the same ad that don't expire till 7/25.  The Banana Boat Q's from the June All You don't expire till 9/30

    • firemansgirl78

The coupons in Smart Source also exclude lip balm.  The cheapest option I could find in Target was $6.99 each before coupons.

    • Lisa

I bought 2 banana boat sunblocks that had 25% more free ($7.44)that each had a $2 off coupon attached then got a $5 target card!

    • Dryan

I could not find the lip balm at my Target.  Anyone else have this problem?

    • Tyndall5

I tried this today. both items were included and equalled 6.79. Still I didn't get my gift card and didn't think about it until after I'd left the store. Should the cashier be prompted to include the gift card or should I have to remind her?

      • Kristin

My Target has a specific display for this offer with the qualifying items clearly marked. The gift card appeared to be generated automatically.  I'd take back your items and ask at Customer Service why you didn't get the gift card.

      • Smel630

I tried it at our Target, it did not work.  I told them to take the items off my order.  We tried putting several different things on the order to make it work and nothing made it work.

        • Gillyp3864

Don't ever feel obligated to “add items” to your order to complete a deal.

      • Kim84

I had the same problem today. The cashier and customer service girl told me the lip balm was not part of the deal and neither was the 4.99 after sun. I told them both were clearly marked as part of the deal on the shelves, but they either didn't believe me or didn't care. They said if those items had been part of the deal, the register would have prompted them about the gift card (which has happened with all of the other gift card deals I've done). I just had them cancel those two items on the transaction. You could return the items to the store if you don't want them for that price.

    • Judyleev

I think the Target Q is out unless I just have had too much sun this weekend and don't see it.

      • lyssibee

The Target coupon was in the June Real Simple magazine and not on the Target website.  I went through all the Qs on the website until I came back to check the post above… I'll blame it on too much sun too! :)

    • Kristin

Went to Target today.  Had to hunt around a bit to find the display for this offer.  Got Sunscreen, lip balm, and a $5 gift card for $6.77.  There were less expensive sunscreens but they weren't what I wanted.  Oh, I used a $1 Manu Q.

    • NikoTroi

The Orlando Sentinel has the $2 off any 1 Hawaiian Tropic :)  I'm excited about these.

      • Naveedcat2

Which day did the Orlando Seninal have this?

    • Tmfloves

Is there a limit on the number of gift cards you can get?

    • Tmfloves

And I only saw a $1/1 in ss 5/22. am I overlooking something?

    • Raquelboaya123

Wow.. Cool coupon deals. I hope my location is near so that I can have those free sunscreen products .

    • Diana

N Charleston, SC still had some of the banana boat after sun lotion and lip balms left as of about 11am today. The lotions are on an end cap and the lip balm with the rest of the sunscreen stuff on the back wall by the cosmetics. They were put of the less expensive Hawaiian Tropics items but had plenty of other options of both brands so u can at least save on sunscreens even if its not free. the cashier had no problem processing the transactions and I did a couple different transactions so that I could get a few and not pay as much OOP.

    • Pattonpeople

The Target in Dothan, Al would not let me use the lip balm sunscreen as part of the deal to get the giftcard even though my other item was more than $5.00. I went to customer service and she said “we want to you to spend more of your money, that is why we make you buy 2 higher price items I stead of the cheaper lip balm.” I returned the purchase!

      • Pmcneill

THank you for the heads up.  I live in Dothan and was going to go try get this deal tomorrow.

    • disneyjen

I just got back from Target in Kissimmee, Fl.  I went to the CS counter first to ask if the Banana Boat lip balm was included in the offer because on the shelf, there was no offer tagged on that item.  The CSR didn't know so she rang it up (The $4.99 after sun and the $1.79 lip balm) and it prompted the $5 gift card.  So I rolled that card into another offer at the regular cashier.  I know it must be frustrating when different stores have different policies.

    • couponmama

The ad I saw in Asheville showed only one type of Banana Boat product- 30 spf lotion- for the giftcard deal. Couldn't find any in the store, and both areas where there were sunscreens had NONE of the items tagged for the sale…bummer

    • Caroline

Lip balm wasn't tagged as part of the deal.  I got it and aloe and asked as I was about to pay if it prompted the gift card.  It didn't and she said if it wasn't tagged, it wasn't included.  I got her to take them off and give me my coupon back.  I also got Raid and a refill which were definitely part of a gift card deal and it didn't prompt a gift card either.  She sent me to cs and they gave me $5 cash.

    • they made me get the banana boat sport.. which was 6.29 and then the lip balm.. because it would not pick up the aloe.. =(

    • jodi

look in the coupon adds for i believe the 3rd sunday  there are banana boat coupons to add to the deal at target

    • Mom23girls

I went to our Target and made sure the cashier rang up the items as I had grouped them ( a lip balm with each bottle of sunscreen). I bought two after sun products and 2 sunscreens with the four lip balms. I used 4- $1.00 off coupons (the coupons won't work on the lip balm) and spent $28.74 and received $20 in gift cards!

    • Barbers214

anytime i try to print a coupon that is worth printing out i get the reply ” YOU HAVE ALREADY PRINTED THIS COUPON THE AMOUNT OF TIMES AVAILABLE ”  when in fact i have never printed it………this has happened 5 times already….what is up with that???

      • Dani

I believe that is a default screen when they run out of prints.  I have seen it too when I have never printed those coupons.

    • Linzy1317

all of the sunscreens were mislabeled at my store causing me to run back and forth with a two year old multiple times. The cashier was misinformed and trying to make excuses while giving me attitude. I had to tell her what was supposed to be included in the deal. such a headache for a $5 gift card…i planned on purchasing more but left with only 1 due to the frustration.

      • Mamaberry

Sorry for your frustration today!! That's rough.  For future reference, you can scan any item at the price check scanners throughout the store.  They will tell you the current price and promotions attached to it (gift cards, etc.) hth!!

    • Choochrose

I'm new to the coupon world —- I know Target's policy is one target coupon & one manufacturer coupon.

Above it is recommended to use a coupon from Real Simple (which I have) and  “-$1 off Banana Boat sun care product, 4 oz + PRINTABLE”

Which takes you to CVS to print off the coupon.  The coupon has the CVS logo — does this mean it's a CVS coupon or will it still work at Target?  I

Thanks for helping.  This is a whole new world for me! :)

      • afwife

on one of Jenny's videos, she mentions manu. coupons begin with a 5 or a 9(in the bar code)  Those can be used anywhere coupons are accepted…BEWARE cashiers who never use coupons themselves and managers who aren't knowledgeable of their own coupon policies.  Especially since there are fraudulent coupons out there, who would want to jeopardize their jobs for a couponer.

        • afwife

yas, Target WEB coupons CAN be used with a Manu. coupon.  But only 1 of each coupon, for each item.  All were fine, since the manu coupon pertains to BOTH items I could only use 1, and the target stated (off 1 item) so I was able to use 2.

    • Mandy

i know at our target here in aiken,sc only the hawaiian tropic items were labeled with the $5 gift card sale. But I picked up the banana boat lip balm and the 5.49 banana boat spray anyways to just check at the register. I had the cashier scan them and sure enough it prompted the gift card:) Because of a previous transaction on kitty litter I already had a $5 card, so after it and my coupons my o.o.p was .80!!

    • nancycrom

I was going to buy the Banana Boat aloe & a lip balm, until I read the ingredients. The first 2 ingredients in the aloe weren't aloe, but WATER and ALCOHOL. Aloe was way down on the list. I know from past bad sunburns, the last thing I want on my burn is alcohol. The Target brand aloe actually looked like a much better quality product, go figure.

    • Hkitty_65

I too was stung by my Target.  And I love my Target, but….I got two Banana Boat items (both 8 oz. items as in flyer) but the register did not prompt the gift card. The cashier was a newer guy & didn't even know about this offer.   I took the receipt, flyer and items to a cashier manager. He told me that because my 2 items had pre-attached free samples; the gift card didn't apply. I did tell him that that was wrong for Target to deceive their customers, but sadly-he was unforgiving. I will continue to be a Target customer (W.M. is just gross) but I'm very disappointed in this policy ;-(

      • Nicole Higgins

I'm sorry you feel burned by this experience. I work at a Target store, I'm actually a front end manager and I know we currently have an endcap up front of sunscreen products with free items attached. All these items have different item numbers that aren't included in this offer and shouldn't have signs in front of them either.
Did yours have a sign? If so they should have adjust it somehow, either changing the price or whatever. If they didn't have signs then stick to the things that are signed, there's a reason these weren't signed :)

Also the lip balm is no longer included, its not in the ad as included and the item was mismarked as included in the POS but that has been changed….just so no one gets disappointed.

        • Lisa Weedman Newell

I appreciate your response. I wish you worked in my store! My Target apparently restocked their tagged shelves with the products that had the freebies attached… which I bought thinking I would get the giftcard. No luck. Not a big deal because I will use the products this summer but it was annoying.

    • Antpath

I was able to get a banana boat lotion and a lip balm, and it prompted for the gift card no problem. However, I was not about to find any Hawaiian tropics lip balm anywhere in the store so I wasn't able to benefit on that deal.

    • afwife

My Target had a banana boat cooling gel with a free lip balm attatched :).  Great deal with target coupon, 2 manu coupons, and they had to apply the $5 gift card to my order, so I did not have to fork out the entire amount, so I could claim my gift card.  Thier registers were not working in favor of the offer.  But Worked out beautifully for me!

    • Ann

Okay people quit saying you were able to get the deal but not the products you wanted.  Then why did you buy it???  Just because it's a deal, if you're not going to use it, don't spend money on it. Even if it's $5, that is still $5 if you're not going to use it.  Think of all the things you can get at CVS, for example, with just $5.

    • MomOf4

My Target in VA pulled all of  the $5 gift card signs today, and it's only Friday!  If they're not going to honor the deal, then don't advertise it!  Very disappointed :(

    • Carol A

I saw a lot of the complaints here and then went to go score my sunscreen
deal at Target.  Found out that “selected items” in the fine print on the ad
means the items that have the red deal tag on them.  If there's no red tag, then
it's not one of their “selected items”.  Unfortunately the “bonus” packs such as
the ones with lip balm or face stick or two-packs were not red-tagged.  Many of
the standalone lip balms and face sticks were also not red tagged at my
store.  Ultimately this became an ethical dilemma for me-I knew those items
weren't red tagged so I decided not to try to straight arm the checker for the
things suggested in the scenarios here.  Instead I settled for the red-tagged
items only and still made out pretty well.  If I could suggest an improvement to
Target it would be that they have the same red tags at their HBA displays as
they have in their outdoor fun displays…had to go to HBA section to see what
qualified and I think that's where customers get frustrated and make the
decision to fight the checker on exceptions.

Awesome catalina on Benadryl there yesterday! Bought anti itch stick for $2.39-$1
coupon from Benadryl site.  Got catalina for $2 off any Benadryl topical so I
bought another for $.39.  And it gave me one more $2 catalina, same item.  Not
sure how many times this could roll but we are big Benadryl users in this house
and that made up for disappointment on the sunscreen deal.

    • Abibarks

Both of my coupons, which were listed above specifically said except lip balm, so my deal cost a little more.  ($9.00 for both products and the $5.00 gift card, which I used for my next order.) I feel it was still a great deal~thanks!

    • Kjsdhdrider

I can't find the banana boat in the 5/22 insert SS. Anyone else near iowa not find it?

    • Williamsarefive

I cpuld not find it in Georgia SS either.
