how does it work? is this any good? is it good for hard wood floors?

      • Meredith

Shark will tell you it is safe for hardwood floors but I work in the flooring business and have seen and heard horror stories of what steam mops have done to hardwood floors (both prefinished and sand and finish floors). None of the hardwood manufacturers recommend them. They are, however, great for vinyl and hard tile.

        • Most people don’t read the instructions and use the white mop heads on the hardwood floors and you are to use the thicker purple head and it won’t damage the hardwood floors. It is less direct contact to the heat.

I have one I got “free” with the purchase of the Rotator Lift-Away. I have a cat that uses my laundry room floor as a litter box a couple of days a week. It is an old floor (maybe terazzo). I love that the mop is so easy to use and the cloths are washable. I feel like I am sanitizing much more than with a conventional mop. However, the floor always feels sticky after use. Not overly so, just a bit annoying. I also use it on my vinyl kitchen/dining area. It gets a lot of stuff up that others don’t, but again it is a little sticky. I have a laminate floor that I use it on only rarely and lightly but it always leaves streaks. However, using a wet swiffer or the swiffer quick mop that was recommended by the flooring store leaves streaks also, so take that for what it’s worth. Sorry to not be specifically pro or con, but I just wanted to offer a few details. I guess I would fall a little more on the pro side because I have back problems and it is easier to use, also less messy to use compared to a traditional mop. However, I am not sold enough to recommend one to my son, who has been considering purchasing one.

I just tried to buy it, and after I finished putting in my credit card info, I was told that it was removed from my cart because it wasn’t available for purchase at this time. I guess that’s a sign that I don’t need to mop my floors. :P

sold out! says it’s unavailable online.

I just tried to order it with the same results as Melinda. I could put it in my cart, but once I went to pay for it, it was not available anymore

I have one that I wouldn’t pay $0.01 for let alone $50! I don’t like it at all and think it was a total waste of money.
