Sooooooo glad that GA is having a tax free holiday again this year!!! We didn’t have one in 2011 or 2010.

      • Momoffive

        wow! why?

        • Jade

Budget cuts, the state couldn’t afford NOT to collect taxes, even for 2 days

So what happened was a lot of people went to neighboring states like mine (SC) and did their shopping there! GA still ended up losing the tax dollars and their merchants got screwed as well.

Thanks for the info!  I always wonder why don’t they try to coordinate the tax free dates with the school schedule.  We will have been in school for one whole week when this sale starts. UGH!!

Does your whole state start at the same time (every level including college)?
We had that problem with OCPS in FL being ahead of the tax break but they ended up creating a law on when we could start

My son will be in school for a week in GA but I am still glad to get the tax free days.  I will probably wait to buy his fall clothes until the tax free days but will have to get the school supplies before then.

Was I reading the site wrong?? Georgia is only listed as doing the energy efficient appliances up to $1500, no clothing is listed…

        • Kei2448

          I see it now ;)

    • Kei2448

I wish Georgia would do the tax free days for clothing and school supplies again :(

      • Kei2448

Nevermind, I was reading wrong ;)

The dates are listed but the letter on their website is dated July 2011 explaining the times and items covered. I’ll wait to get excited until they post an updated list of qualified items.
