Proverbs 22:6 train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he won’t depart from it.

My life verse is Jer. 29:11 ~ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This reminds me that God has bigger plans for me and all of my daily struggles are trivial. This is not what He has planned for me….just a minor bump along the road to a bright future.

    • Val

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! ~1 John 3:1

The virtuous woman from Proverbs 31:10-31.  This is the woman I’m trying to become; the woman whose husband doesn’t need/want to go elsewhere; faithful; skillful; strong; giving; never lacking; and on, and on, and on!

“My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

One of the other translations says “My grace is sufficient for thee”, which I love.

    • S.Grant

I know that its very common, but I love Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.  I live by this scripture daily.  It helps me gather the courage to stand up for whats right and take the steps needed to walk in my purpose and make positive changes in my life as well as others…even if it means I have to stand alone.  The plan is for me to do the possible and allow God to do the impossible (my personal agreement with Him-Jesus Christ/God)

1 thess 4:11-12 “aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.”  I have tried to make this my daily goal at work.  It is so hard to be surrounded by the world at work everyday.  Gossip is everywhere.  Idleness is everywhere.  I have this verse taped right before my face!  Minding my own business and doing my work as I should.

This time of year many of us volunteer more and this is a good reminder.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

When I get all caught up in things, (trying to please myself) this verse pops into my head reminding me that if I want to be like Jesus I must deny myself and do the things which please my Heavenly Father. Then I can find true pleasure in life. Jesus responded to the Jews in John 8:29 He that sent me is with me:the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church — for we are members of His body. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery-but I am talking about christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (Ephesians 5:25-33)

“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14

This verse is so precious to me.  It’s Mordecai speaking to Esther right before she risks everything to save her people, the Jews.  My favorite part is, “who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”  This is a constant reminder that God has put me right where I am at this moment and time and at this place because He has a purpose for my life.

6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for
a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7
These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth
than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise,
glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and
even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an

Isaiah 40:29-31  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Philippians 4:4-7  Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

It’s so hard to post 1 favorite.  I love Romans 12, the whole chapter.  But especially verses 1-4 which read I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
