Fruit in Season

As August rolls around, we are nearing the end of summer fruits and vegetables. I love all the green veggies that are going on sale right now – from broccoli, bell peppers, to salad and cucumbers!

If you are looking for a source that constantly updates, check out the National Fruit & Vegetable Retail Report issued by the government every couple of weeks. This report gives the top 10 fruits and vegetables and the national percentage of which fruits and vegetables are in store ads.

In terms of other items that are frequently on sale these days, grilling and ice cream season will be coming to an end around Labor Day weekend – so stock up on those items this month and freeze any meat items you want them for the Fall.

What should you look at buying and stocking up on this month??
