How do I get these coupon books? Are they at the Walgreen's stores or do you sign up?

      • adrienne

i think they are at the store

        • Kelly

Ok… thanks! I'll look. I just hope I don't have to drag my 2 and 4 year old this time!! :-) Phew… talk about breaking a sweat!

    • Herene

They are located at the beauty counter and yes they are store coupons but you still have to use one coupon per item with these coupons. So, if you buy a revlon item and use the revlon walgreens coupon and have a revlon manufacturer coupon you will need a filler item to use both coupons. They technically aren't a store coupon and the system counts it as a mfg coupon.

      • Herene

This is just an FYI if an employee says you can only use one that is because you need another item and then it will work.

        • Crystal

Can someone please explain the concept of “filler items”? I am new and just getting the hang of this. Thanks!

          • Guest

Walgreens' registers are incredibly insane. They will allow you to use 1 coupon per item which does not sound so insane, except that they count the 'Register Rewards' as a coupon toward an item since they are coded as manufacturer's coupons. So if you have 1 item you want to buy, and you want to use 1 manufacturer's coupon and 1 Register Reward coupon from a previous purchase, the register will not accept both of those coupons unless you have a second 'filler' item. People buy 'filler' items to create a new slot for the register to attach a coupon to – often extremely cheap things like single pencils and stuff like that.

      • Malissa

Walgreens with their filler items ARE A PAIN TO SHOP THERE BECAUSE OF THIS! Sometimes it doesn't even pay to use the extra coupon if you have to buy a candy bar for even 50 cents! They are not coupon friendly at this store!

        • Gacssoccer2008

I refuse to look at the Walgreens ads anymore because I get so frustrated with their coupon policy.

        • Jjbest165958

well we cannot make the register take them, its 1 manufacture coupon per item! There is no way around it, we think coupon people are a pain!

          • If your not a coupon person then why are you here?
And yes, a manager can override the register if they'd like to keep our business. One is a store, one is a mf….if the register has been programmed to only accept one or the other, (which is stupid IMO) then we'll simply use a filer to get around it and get lots of almost free stuff and continue to be a pain. Have a nice day! :)

          • NewToTheQ

HA, Considering Im sure you only get paid like $7.50 an hour Im surpised your not a “coupon person” yourself

          • Galveston 2000

do you really work-or just show up -at wlgs? i bet your boss would like your thoughts on this-which one did you say you showed up at sometimes ?

          • Jennifer

IT IS OBVIOUS THAT YOU ARE NOT A LONG TERM EMPLOYEE NOR A VERY GOOD ONE THAT IS WELL TRAINED.PLEASE SEEK ADDITIONAL TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE PROPER WAY TO DO YOUR JOB WHILE EMPLOYED BY WALGREENS. CUSTOMERS PAY YOUR SALARY ARE,YOU WANTING TO JOIN THE UNEMPLOYMENT LINE!

          • Malissa

Gee I''m sorry I'm a pain but I paid off my house after 10 years because I was careful with money and my children have never gone hungry! Why are you on this site anyway as someone mentioned. I think it is PAINful to WASTE MONEY! Obviously YOU have tons to spare and good luck to you.

      • Malissa

My Walgreen's in Richmond Hill say they are NOT getting them because “we are not a high volume store.” What a ……….

    • Jennifer

Actually, the correct way to use these coupons is
      1. Have the cashier scan ALL manufactures coupons first.
2.Then have the cashier scan all Register Rewards, keeping in mind of your total bill.
      2. Then have the cashier scan all coupons in the Monthly savings book,Spring Beauty Book, Infant Care book,Vitamins and Supplements book,
3.Last have the cashier scan all in ad coupons from the paper.
What will happen is if your total is less than the value of the in ad coupon the register will beep at the cashier which means you will need to add a “filler” item on. Sometimes if you are very close in numbers it will give you the part of the discount but not the full discount. By having the cashier scan them in this order you do not always have to have a filler and you maximize your savings. While the Register Rewards can be “difficult” to use, once you learn the system it's a great way to pay next to nothing for almost anything in the store.

      • Kelly

        Thank you Jennifer!!!

        • Jennifer

Your welcome, please let me know if you have any questions.

      • Kelly

Who says we can't learn and have fun?

    • Kadigirl4

I'd REALLY appreciate it if someone could explain my Walgreens transaction from yesterday to me. I bought 2 Old Spice deodorants reg. price 4.99, but on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. I also had $2 register rewards and a manufacturer B1G1 free. I ended up paying 4.99, got 1 free and got 2 dollars off for the RR for a total of 2.99 +tax. Was this right? The walgreens sale was trumped by my coupon? It just doesn't seem fair.

      • Courtney

That seems correct. The b1g1 free coupon means you got the half price deodorant for free and the other was still full price at $4.99 and then you used your $2RR to make the final total $2.99+tax.

      • Marlene

Should've been $.60 plus any appropriate tax on the total of 9.98 .
So if your area is 7% tax then it would be $.60+.70 = $1.30
Here's how I figured it out:
        Buy 1= $4.99
        Get 1 at 50% off = 2.50 ($4.99 /2 )
        So far that =s $7.49
Less the $4.99 that you had on your own BOGO coupon = $2.60
        Less the $2 in reward bucks =$.60 Plus taxon the 2 @ 4.99 ea =$9.98 x your tax amt using the 7% = .70 so then $.60 + $.70 = 1.30
Go back and show this to them..something is very wrong w/ what they did!

        • Jen_gecas

This is what I hate about this whole thing. Im fairly new to couponing. I am a single mother just trying to save. EVERYTIME I go to walgreens, I am cheated out of my hard work couponing. I was told b/c they are having a bogo, I cant use he mfg bogo coupon!

    • Gregscoupons10

When you buy 2 of the same item that are giving back RR's. Do you have to buy them on different transactions to get RR's for both items? I recently bought 2 toothpaste but that had RR's but only received the RR for on of the toothpaste.

      • DebTN

Yes, you have to buy them in separate transactions at Walgreens.

    • Melwri415

We can't seem to find any stores that have ever heard of this booklet in Ohio or Lexington, SC. :(

      • Melwri415-
Me either here in Simpsonville, SC.
If someone would like to email me I will trade some Q's you might need in exchange for a book. Thanks in advance!

    • Shelley

I checked for this booklet this evening at Walgreens, but did not see it.

    • Stacy19792

ok I am new to all of this and trying to figure it out.. I read that you can use the walgreens coupons at walmart is this correct if so, HOW??

    • Namerritt

I also did not find this booklet or the Baby Care booklet that is mentioned in this weeks ad. I asked about the Baby book, but the cashier said she had not ever heard of it. Does anyone know where I could get one of each – but especially the baby care booklet.

      • Jlocklear1234

They should be at the cosmetic counters :)

      • achmomma

If it's the happy birthday baby booklet you get this from your Dr's office.

      • Kristin

I had to ask the manager at my Walgreens. He said they are keeping the infant care booklet in the office because greedy couponers will take all of the booklets and there wouldn't be any left for anyone else. It's a shame, but I'm glad I was finally able to locate the booklet in time to get the diaper deal this week!

      • Namerritt

Thanks to everyone!! Kristin – I will have to ask again, because the diaper deal is what I really wanted also. I will have to ask a manager instead of a cashier. How is anyone to get one if they are in the office?!?! Thanks again!!

        • Casablancafashions

I had the same problem. Not even the manager knew what I was talking about! What I did though, is print it and asked them to use the code from the coupon which they did with no problem_ I hope this helps! :)

          • Namerritt

Do you know the coupon code? I could not find it anywhere. Thanks. Sounds great!!!

      • Pmortonfamily

        where are you located

    • Butterflylady

I found the Baby Coupon Book on the Perfume Counter when I went over there to checkout, so I did snatch a few of them and give them out to people with children.
