I always have trouble on here. When I go to click a printable coupon, especially for coupons.com. It is never out there. I have tried no zip code, my zip code and Columbia’s zip code since Jenny lives there. Why is that? It happens to me a lot.

      • momto2boys

They get gone really fast…so if you see one you want get it before its gone. They are often reset at the beginning of the month!

      • SharonW

I have been doing this for around a year now and I write down every zip code someone suggest to try on a sticky note and keep it by my computer. Here are some I have had luck with. 37066,30656,30003,29485,45434,37206,90210,92111,30504,32822,91204,30097,90010,85031,37046,29206,63366 I just keep trying until I find the coupon needed. It would be so nice if all coupons were linked with all zip codes!

        • Brooke

That's a good idea. Sometimes when I can't find a coupon, I just type in random numbers. You would be surprised at all of the different coupons you can get that way!

      • Cathy

In another post I saw someone say to use 12345 as a zip code. Since I've been doing that I've been able to see almost all the coupons (unless they have already printed the max). Hope that is helpful!

    • macboy

It's a decent week for me. I will be getting the Listerine, one thing of Nivea Body Wash (wish I wouldn't have gotten it last week now), and maybe some Cetaphil face wash depending on the original price.

Link is not working for the Colgate ProClinical Daily Toothpaste. Anyone know of another coupon that will work? Thanks.

    • Funapple43

aveeno FB $3 printable is not working

    • macboy

When I go to the dentist, the hygienist is always telling me to consider bleaching my teeth but to try the OTC stuff first. I see that the Crest Whitestrips are on sale all the time at CVS or Wags, and there are often high-value coupons in the paper. However, what is the best price for the Whitestrips. I was thinking about going to Walmart to see how much they are there, and then waiting for an RR or ECB deal to beat that. But if I can get an answer here, that'll save me a trip and the aggravation. :-)

      • grace

you should compare with Rite Aid too, they usually have it on sale for $10 off or $10 Up rewards

        • macboy

No Rite-Aid in Florida, or at least Orlando. CVS bought up all the Eckerds in FL. I always see them as $10 off or $10 in RRs or ECBs, but I guess I need to see what the regular price is to see if it is a good deal.

      • Ilovewdw

White Strips go on sale regularly……My husband and I bought some about 2 weeks ago….The were at CVS with $10 ECB and I had a $5 coupon from P&G saver…..I then got my neighbor’s coupon she didn’t need…..after all the ECB and coupons we got both boxes at about 50% off retail…..It appears Walgreens & CVS have regular price wars….good item to watch for.

Also the Advanced vivid strips have a $7 man coupon in them for another boc that expires in June 2012.

    • Ncmountain

Cetaphil coupons are not printing either. It says there are no prints available for this campaign.

    • doodle19815

Ok I know how some people really dislike Walgreen's so understand that I have remained faithful to them until yesterday. I have the same Walgreens that I go to and always the same sweet girl at checkout who has never given me any problems about coupons. In fact I have given her some tips. I did three transactions and everything went well except for the last one. I used two RRs on the last purchase and got all of my stuff for .15 but I noticed that she didn't hand me the RR that I should have received for the purchase. Instead she pulled it out of the printer and put it somewhere under her register cabinet. I know people have been having complaints about not getting these RRs but do they usually print if you are not supposed to get them? I was shocked to think that she could possibly be stealing my RR. I didn't say anything to her because I don't like confrontations in a store with my two little girls but did she steal my RR or follow procedure and just trash it?She is really a very nice and thoughtful cashier and my favorite in town!

      • Mcleodsc

She STOLE it. I would have called the manager to the front and then the police if needed. Just think-if she stole from you , she probably steals from others. I have heard that not giving the customer the RR is a firing offense.

        • doodle19815

Thank you, I am shocked! Now I guess I have to find a new cashier. I always stick with the ones that give me the least amount of hassle. I don't know what to say, i guess I gave her to many tips.

          • wendyc33

well maybe they should start making these like cvs does, and no else can use the rr, but yourself. that would cut down on the stealing.

            • Guest

It is policy of Walgreen's that the cashier MUST give the customer all RR and the receipt. If a customer says they do not want the RR that printed the cashier must tear the RR in half and put it in the trash. I assure you if she did indeed steel your RR that the camera above her head is already telling on her and you (doodle19815) will not see her again at your local Walgreen's. Now having said that you may not know that Walgreen's has someone that will actually do the firing and not the manager themselves. And being that it is that way it takes weeks to set it up to where that cashier and the one coming in to fire them will be at the store together, so you may see her for a little bit longer just until that happens. And if the cashier doesn't give you your receipt, request your free $5. If they don't offer you a receipt when you have completed your transaction then it is there policy to give you $5.

      • julies

OMG, i would call the manager and tell him and get your darn RR's back! We had a huge arrest hear at our CVS last week, 2 employees were letting family into the store after the pharmacy closed and they stole 140,000.00 in 6 months!!! Can you believe that!! Greed defintely gets to these employees and I am confident she took those to spend them herself. She probably has been doing it a lot. Time to SHUT HER DOWN!

        • doodle19815

I plan on going this week (without the kids in tow) and seeing if I can catch her again. She had me fooled. Makes me wanna look back over the rest of my receipts and see what else I missed. Usually I just trusted her and kinda let her run the show by holding on to my RRs for the next transaction. She pulled the wool over my eyes. At first I really thought it was part of the new procedure that everyone had been complaining about but the more I thought of it, it just didn't seem right.

          • Brooke

That is not a procedure for them. If it prints and you bought the item that gave you the RR, it is yours. I am sure they have a camera in the store. Speak to a manager and if they don't review the tapes with her on them, speak with a district manager. I would assume that what she is doing is illegal. It's just like stealing people's money. I wish she was at my Walgreen's. I would make a huge deal out of it and make sure she gets fired right then and there!

      • sss

“because I don't like confrontations in a store with my two little girls”

Yes and what sort of example are you setting by not asserting yourself? It is ok if “sweet” people steal from you? Being assertive is not the same as being aggressive. Please teach your girls to stand up for their right and break the cycle of victimhood.

        • doodle19815

Well not exactly the reply I was looking for, however I am not used to taking the kids with me on a three store shopping trip. (I am fortunate to have a hubby that let's me shop by myself as unwind time). And my girls were a big enough distraction at ages 4 and 3 they tend to want one of everything they see. I wasn't for sure that I knew what had just happened and they had nor have any idea that the lady (who they consider a friend) just stole. I think that girls should learn tho stand up for what they feel is right and I do teach them this, but when you are yanking skittles out of a crying three year old hands for the hundredth time the last thing I really felt like doing was standing there waiting for a manager (who is normally an a**) to just tell me it is their new policy. Sorry that I offended you. Trust me the girls have no idea what happened.

          • 3monkeysmom

You should do what you feel comfortable with and not worry about what other people think :)

            • doodle19815

Thank you very much for being supportive, you are what I think more of us should be like to one another.

            • 3monkeysmom

No prob :) I completely understand where you're coming from. I'm not very confrontational. And shopping with little kids is an adventure to say the least so adding more stress by having it out with a cashier may be worth it to some but not to me (and I'm not saying it's wrong if you do..everyone is different!).

          • sss

“you are yanking skittles out of a crying three year old hands for the hundredth time”

Sounds like dealing with a sweet cashier isn't the only problem. Good luck!

            • doodle19815

Wow, since you obviously have nothing better to do that belittle people on line I will pray for you SSS. How about you be a little more supportive of a woman and NOT MAKE ME YOUR VICTIM, since you are so big about teaching people to not make their little girls victims. If people wouldn't be bullies there wouldn't be victims. I only needed some advice on whether I had something stolen from me or if it was part of a new procedure but you have taught me so much more. That lesson is, even if you think you are on a friendly site where women support each other and can answer questions and help one another out, there is still going to be that b**** that wants to make herself sound better than everyone else. I will not be looking at this page again because I will not let you harm me through your words and Jenny works way to hard for us to bicker on her site. So now I am standing up for myself as you have asked me to do, and saying UP YOURS sss. You know nothing about me or my lifestyle or hurts and pains that may be mine. I try to do my best to be a great Mommy as any of us try to do.

            • Brooke

Don't worry. This person obviously has never had any children. If they did, they would know how it is.

            • Momma2

Dear Mommy, with a tender heart, I encourage you to continue being the best Mommy to your babies. Investing yourself into your babies is the toughest, but most rewarding job that you will ever have. As for the “sweet cashier,” approach in such a manner that the end results of your actions will not rob you of your peace of mind/joy. :)

            • wendyc

              Doodle,

I am so sorry that someone would make a remark like this. I have been following this site and there has always been a feeling of people helping others and not tearing them down. I am sure that was Jenny’s feeling when she first started the site. I have too wonderful children and I know exactly what you are talking about. They are 19 and 12 so it has been a while since I have had to experience what you did, but I remember what it was like. I guess some individuals are not happy unless they can make others just as unhappy. As we all know from reading this it is SSS that obviously has issues and I feel sorry for that person. I know you do your best everyday to give your kids not what they always want but what they actually need and couponing lets us do just that. Have a great day, and Jenny thanks again for all you do. Lets continue to keep the negativity off this site and help each other! :)

      • Thecouponpops

I started taking 5-10 minutes before checkout to: add my total plus tax, add my total after coupons, and add up how many RR bucks I should get back. OFTEN it is wrong at all the pharmacies, so this helps me make sure I'm getting the deals I'm supposed to get. I certainly would not have a problem confronting someone who might be stealing my RR, even if my kids were present. I know it might be awkward but bad things can be great opportunity to teach our kids about real life how to best handle it. You can't protect them from bad things forever and it's best they learn how to handle in my opinion.

        • doodle19815

Thank you for wording that nicely along with a great tip for me to use in the future.

Colgate Pro Clinical $1.00 off coupon not printing for me either. Is there any other way to get the $1.00 of Q?

    • Angie

I really need help with my scenerio shopping list this week. I’m not that good at walgreens, could someone help me, with my list. The way I do it I’m still out of pocket more money than I think I should be. You can email me at angieadms1968@yahoo.com. Thank you for any help. I follow this blog daily…but still just need a little TLC with walgreens.

    • Donna

Just received my new aarp card and it states if you show your card at Walgreens between 9/19 and 10/23 and spend $20 in store you will receive $5 off on your next purchase….crum…just got back from there and didn't know about this!

    • Docswife08

hi, can someone tell me how i can get overage on the coffee-mate…………..????? i guess i need it barny style, i just don't know how i can get overage when it costs 2.69 but the coupon is only 1.50….

I know me too LOL. I am still learning the ends and outs of all this… I just do walgreens for now and will be moving to CVS..

    • DianaY19

Nivea bodywash should be under the RR heading…it's $2.50 after getting RR on 2 back…so it's not outright $2.50 on sale.

      • DianaY19

oops, was looking at the wrong ad when I posted the above..sorry

    • Usmctanker99

what is a filler item mean? I am still getting use to this site.. THanks :)

      • Tiff715

its an extra item you need to buy because you cant have more coupons then you have items, so you grab a filler item which is anything that cost as little as possible so that way you have equal items and coupons

    • Kdt5512

    • Tiff715

Where do you get the Walgreens coupon book from?

      • Organical1

Inside the store where the weekly advertisement is. That's where they have them in our store.

      • Laura

My store just started putting them behind the main cashier this month so that people are required to ask for them. They said it was to stop people from taking handfuls.

Before they were always in front of the rack where the weekly ad is. They are thin books, like 8 x 3 inches. The cover this month says Monstrous Savings (on the front). It says be prepared for cold & flu season on the back. Some stores put half with each cover showing so it might look like they have 2 different books.

    • Amber Renee

coffemate deal with coupons didn't work at my walgreens. manager wouldn't allow me to use the coupons and kept stressing that she can't just “give me free items.” not happy at all with walgreens. also, the glade candle coupon scenario didn't work for me. looks like i'm sticking to cvs and rite aid…they never steer me wrong!

      • Valwallis

did'nt work at my walgreen's either neither did the nivea body wash, very disappointed at them now

    • val

coffemate and nivea bodywash for men did'nt work manager says both coupons exceeded the price of the item went to 2 different stores told the same thing, never have a problem before at walgreens' very dissapointed with them now, so i took the coupons to rite aid and both of them were out have very bad luck this morning

      • guest

I am sorry to hear that . I went to wg last night and got 4 Nivea 3 for men , 1 for women paid only 60 cents tax . I used 3 NV for men and 1 NV for women coupons (3,3,3,1) = $10 . The cashier at my wg scaned the coupons , and its gone through no bip whatsoever . You should try it again don't give up .

    • GS

I was able to Use 2 Nivea Coupons for 3 body washes and 3 coffee mate with 2 coupons. It made the Nivea .50 each… AWESOME.. And the coffee mates .34 each. The cashier actually suggested I get a third of each because she could not adjust the coupons and the register will not allow the second to make it negative so she would only be able to use one for each trans.. Not as good as free but 3 body washes and 3 coffee mate for 2.53 before tax sounds good to me! She asked if I had heard of Southern Savers… Ahhhhh YEAH!

      • Jason

I thought Walgreens coupon policy is to reduce the value of the coupon if its value is over the sale price of the item.

        • GS

She told she wasn't able to adjust them down.. I don't know if that is a recent change or not.. I'm pretty green around here.

          • Jason

Look for Walgreens coupon policy at top right of page, I believe it is stated there that they should have.

          • cara

I'm finding a lot of Walgreens cashiers telling me that recently – that they can't adjust the coupon value down. Sometimes I can get them to but many times they just won't. One even told me there are cameras at the store watching the employees and that if they are caught doing that they can get fired. So it seems like they are specifically being told not to do it. I'm in central Phoenix.

I want to get these deals this week but the thought of walking into a Walgreens is just so stressful…it's always an argument. Worth it? What can I do?

        • macboy

Perhaps she didn't know how to do it.

      • Freeingu

if your coffee mate rang up as .20 for the second one you could have bought 1 more for the .20

    • Laura

I guess I don't ever think about fillers since I usually have many more items than coupons because my store generally has a lot of good stuff on the 75% off clearance rack that I can't resist. Yesterday though I only bought items from the sale and never gave a thought to fillers.

It didn't seem to matter though, in fact it didn't occur to me until reading posts here now.

I had bought one each of 5 different items and used 7 coupons and it worked fine. 3 W coupons and 4 newspaper. All the coupons came off and after paying I got 2 register rewards for $3 and $1.

      • Amy

The Wags ad coupons don't count toward your total. That's probably why it didn't matter this time. :)

        • Susan

I didn't know that. I don't go to Wags very often. The need for the filler item irritates me. That's good info.

    • Ben

Went to the new Wags in Fort Mill, SC today and the Kellogs Mini Wheats were tagged 2 for $5.00 but they rang up $2.99 each and I didn't pay attention as I had too many items and the cashier was going really fast. The boxes they had the tags on where the 24 oz and the sale is on 12 to 18 oz, so of course the RR did not print either. Be careful out there!

    • Jason

I went to Walgreens to buy the free Reach toothrush and floss deal. The $2 in-ad coupon has a limit of 3 so I was going to buy several items in multiple transactions, but the cashier told me that the ad coupons means limit of 3 per customer not per transaction. I understand that Walgreens reserves the right to limit deals so other customer can benefit, but I was there late at night and they were well stock of the items I was going to buy, therefore I don't understand why the cashier would rather not let me provide business to the store by letting me buy this items. Just because I was going to use coupons and get the items for free does not mean that Walgreens does not also benefit from it. I believe some cashier doesn't realized that every legitimate coupon used by customers will get reimbursed at the end.

      • macboy

Maybe they wanted they wanted other customers to be able to buy the toothbrushes and floss too…even if they were stocked, the drug stores don't have as many in the “back room” as say Walmart or your supermarket does…the next delivery truck may not be there until Thursday.

        • Jason

True, but it was Saturday night and it was the last day of the deal.

          • macboy

My bad. I didn't realize that were you talking about the previous week's deal.

    • Amy

I had a great trip to Wags today. I got 2 newspapers, 5 women's Nivea, 2 Men's Nivea, 3 CoffeeMate creamers, 2 boxes of Kellog's MiniWheats, and 6 Campbell's soups. My OOP was $7.44. That's an average of 37 cents per item, although some were technically free with overage. The cashier was really sweet and asked where I got my coupons (the printables.) I told her about Southern Savers, and she said she's going to look it up. :)

    • Tonya0399

So aggrevated, just left wags. Bought 2 coffemate creamers, 1 nivea mens body wash. 4 crossaction toothbrushes. Tried to use (2) 1.50 off coffemate, (1) 3.00 off nivea, (2) B1G1 crossaction toothbrushes and (2) 1.00 off crossaction toothbrushes. The lady told me I could not use 2 of the 1.50 off the creamer because they were B1G1, but they did not ring up that way. 1 rang up 2.49 and the other rang up at .20. I told her that was why it was not letting me use it. She said either way that they were B1G1 and I could not use 2 coupons. really think that is wrong. Then it would not take the 3.00 off the nivea body wash because it was on sale for 2.50. I asked her couldn't she adjust the coupon, she said no and the only way I could use the coupon was to buy 2. Could someone please tell me what I did wrong? Thought I was following the scenario……….

      • Mcleodsc

My Coffee-mate rang up weird. I bought 4 and used 2 of the 1.50 coupons. The first one rang up at 2.49, the second one .20, the third one 1.35 and the fourth one 1.34. There was no way that you could only buy 2 and use 2 of the coupons. I have not tried the Nivea coupon yet.

        • Dawn

I bought 4 Coffeemate Creamers, One flavor rang up 2.49 and .20, the other rang up 1.35 and 1.34. I used three coupons with no issues, but the fourth one beeped. I think she would have had to figure out what to adjust it to? One of my RR beeped too, I don't think I ended up having enough items. I figured I can come back and use those coupons and PU some of the other sale stuff. I also bought two Niveas (My paper didn't have the coupons, and someone had taken all the coupons out of the papers @ CVS, so I had to make an extra stop for those!) The second coupon beeped too, but she pushed it thru. I wish they didn't make it so complicated to shop there!

I just wanted to say that last night I went to Walgreens and saved 76.34%. I spent 8.94 and saved 28.85! Among the items I purchased were 4 RGTD5 deodorants for my 2 boys and husband (B1G1F and 2-$3.00/2) and 2 DRY ID for me (B1G1F and $2.00/.$1.00), 2 toothrbushes with the B1G1 free coupon and Colgate Wisp ($1.00). With all of them I used the circular coupons and manufacturer coupons and for each B1G1F item I used at least 1 man. coupon. I received only 1 RR as the other items I wanted were o.o.s. since it was the last day of the sale. But I was thrilled to save so much money. This was my first try at a drug store and I am thinking this was good so I am super happy. Any savings that I have now are unbelievable compared to what I didn't save before Southern Savers. What you don't know CAN hurt you. ;-) Thank you Jenny for all that you do!

    • Walgreens can be so frustrating! I had the same problems with the Nivea and CoffeeMate coupons. At the first store I went to, I just asked them to void the transaction and got my coupons back so that I could call customer service, which I did on the way to a nearby store. The CS gal ended up talking to the manager, who in the end STILL wouldn't accept the CoffeeMate Qs! But on a positive note, I still did end up spending only $9.86 for $67.40 worth of merchandise. I posted a lot more about the saga on my blog (click my name for the link.) It is hard to complain too much when I'm still saving so much money, but man oh man, I wish they would get their register and coupon policies straightened out!

      • Kay

Wow Ruth, Sorry that happened. My Walgreens in Burlington, NC gave me 50 cents to toward the pruchase of the other stuff from my Nivea. Needless to say, I had 8 papers so I had 8 $3 coupons and so had $4.00 extra to spend and bought the Viva Paper towels, cause I love them and normally won't buy them cause they cost to much.

    • Shelly

I'm a newbie to couponing, but printed off the deals for wags, and ended up paying more than $10 over what I had figured because the mgr read the Wags Q that says 1 Q p/person and that meant either a mfgQ or the WagsQ, NOT both. I KNOW this was wrong, but how do you argue with the mgr? :( I still saved much more than I spent, but it still feels like I got jipped!

      • Brooke

You can stack a Walgreen's q with a manu q. They ripped you off. I would have told them to take it back and I would have gone to another Walgreen's.

      • Patricia

You need to print a copy of their coupon policy and take it in with you when you go in. I had to do that.

    • Carol

SS 9/26 has a B1GO coupon for the Glade candles which are on sale for 2/$6. Pair that with the October $2 off coupon and the candles are only .50 cents each.

      • Crain_99

Thanks for the tip, I got 8 candles today.

    • Carol

Today's SS 10/17 has a $3 coupon off ANY bufferin product, so pair it with the $3 off October booklet coupon and get the Bufferin for a little overage, and then send in for the rebate in the SS.

    • Jkbarton7

Today was the first time I had a good experience at Walgreens. I bougth Listerine Rinse for my kids, use a $1 off mc; 2 Nivea Body was for woman, use $3/2 mc; 1 Nivea Body Wash for Men, use $3/1 mc; 2 glade candles, used $2 Walgreens coupon and $1 mc; also 2 oral b toothbrushes, use B1G1 Coupon, had $4.50 in RR and paid $4.09 total!!!

    • Laurahooks

The Nivea Men's Body wash is on sale for $2.50 and q is for $3. If I add extra items to cart to keep subtotal from being negative, will they take $3 off for each bottle or just the $2.50?

      • macboy

They are supposed to adjust it to $2.50. My cashier refused so I told her to take it back.

    • pogo30

Went to Walgreens, bought five papers. Went to the car and snipped the $3 coupons for Nivea for men. Walked in and back out again with six bottles. Out of pocket was $0.90 (the tax).

    • NancyMac

Does anyone know if the Garnier Sleek and Shine Blow Dry Perfector is included in the deal of 3/$15?

      • Brooke

On the website it is not included. It is priced for $10.99. Look up Garnier on the Walgreen's site and it shows which ones are included.

    • Mandarpandar

Couple of questions: Is there a limit on the blistex? I could buy tons of this stuff since it ends up being free, but I don't want to go over a limit. Also, does anyone know if the Reach toothbrushes and Right Guard d.o are still B1G1???

      • hsvmom3

There is no limit to how many you can buy as they don't have anyway to track it. Just keep in mind that if you use the RR from a previous purchase of the same item, a new RR will not print.

        • Mandarpandar

Ok, great, so if I buy 3 in one transaction for example, I will receive all three RR correct? Still new to all this, thanks : )

          • Aboveall

No, you will not receive all 3 RRs. You have to do it in separate transactions… And like hsvmom said, you will not get the RRs if you pay using an RR that was for that same item. Gotta either pay w/$ or with different RRs

            • Mandarpandar

Ok, I understand now. That makes sense. Thank you for the explanation!

            • Guest

They can limit your purchase on those items. If a limit amount is not specified in the ad then the manager can set their own limit and in most cases it is 4.

    • hsvmom3

Has anyone in the Huntsville, AL area tried the Nivea coupons? I would love to go get some with the overage to put towards other items I need, but would prefer not to have any problems at check out if I can avoid it. Thanks!

    • Shauntae

Hello All. I live in the Greenville SC area and went to Walgreens on East North St and Pleasantburg Drive store #7572, and tried to purchase the nivea bodywash with coupons. The cashier named Sharon would not do it. I showed her the policy and she still refused. I had her to ring up some other items- mucinex, listex, cereal, bufferin. I then asked to speak to the manager. The manager Mrs. Olison came over and said that what I was trying to do was LUDACRIS yes she yelled. I said fine I will not argue with you and I left. As soon as I got in the car I called 1-800-WALGREEns and filed a complaint. I then went to the store near me in Taylors on Wade Hampton Blvd Store # 7447.

Once inside there was a lady buying thrr nivea bodywash and she was allowed to use the coupon, but they set a limit at 6. I then called back to the store on East North st. and spoke to the manager and she said that the policy had not been passed down to her. I asked for any apology which she gave me and that was that.

      • Therodgersons

You're lucky – – I've visited both of those stores and the Nivea shelves were cleaned out!!! Which I am really upset about, since that body wash is my husband's favorite!

    • Littles6

THE NIVEA BODY WASH IS 2 FOR 5 DOLLARS AND OUR LOCAL WALGREENS WILL NOT TAKE THE $3 OFF COUPON FOR IT TO MAKE IT FREE BECAUSE IT EXCEEDS THE PRICE. I ENDED UP HAVING TO BUY 4 WASHES AND USE (2) $3 OFF COUPONS AND THEN A $3 OFF OF 2 TO MAKE IT WORK. IT MADE EACH WASH ABOUT .45 CENTS EACH. STILL A GREAT DEAL BUT IF ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO DO BETTER LET ME KNOW!

      • Brooke

Buy four women's body washes and 4 men's body washes. Use 2 of the $3/2 women's body wash q's and 4 of the $3/1 men's body wash q's. Makes it $2 for 8! I figured this out earlier but haven't gone to the store yet.

    • macboy

My Walgreens in Orlando would not take the $3.00 coupon for the $2.50 Nivea Bodywash. I told her that the coupon policy states that they would have to adjust the coupon down, but she said no. I went home and double check, and whoola, I was right.

They didn't have the Benefiber Orange in the size that is on sale. Boo.

I just ended up walking out of Wags with $0.99 eggs and $0.69 rubbing alcohol.

      • macboy

Maybe I will wait for it to go on sale at Publix (where I get overage) or CVS (where they adjust).

      • macboy

One more thing. There's a survey at the bottom of the receipt. They won't be getting the usual straight A's from me today. :-)

      • Brooke

That happened to me when the Airwick i-motions were on sale for $3.99 and I tried to use the $4.00 off q. the cashier didn't take it but when I asked for the manager, they took it. Maybe you should try again but ask for the manager. Seems to always work for me.

        • macboy

I'll be back this weekend, so I will bring a copy of the coupon policy with me. Or, I can drive by Target on the way home, price match, and get overage. :-)

    • flmom2

I tried to purchase the Angel Soft TP using the $.50 Angel Soft Coupon and a RR $2.50. The cashier said I couldn't use both because they were both “Manufacture” coupons and I needed to buy something else. I bought a candy bar which I didn't want or need. Was she right?

      • Dianne

Yes, you can only use one manufacture coupon per item at Walgreens.

      • Brooke

Since you were trying to use two coupons on one item, you needed a filler item. Jenny usually has a list of them for really cheap. Walgreen's rule is that you can't have more coupons than items. You can use one manufacturer coupon per item. The RR's are from the manufacturer but they are not for any specific item so it is ok to use them with any coupon you want. Hope that helps.

      • Debbbieadler

I do not think she is correct in that they are both manufacture coupons however you do have to purchase as many items as you have coupons at Walgreens,RR being considered a coupon. At My Walgreens they have carmel candies that are 3/$1.00 at the register so you can fill out your order with those if need be.

      • aut

Unfortunately, she was correct. That's the main reason I shop at CVS most of the time. The RR is a manu. Q, so that's why at Wags, you have to use a cheap “filler” item when you use a RR and another manu. Q to buy one item. I typicaaly get a piece of candy that's on sale (.29-.49).

      • SpicyPepper

I was told that as long as the RR wasn't from the same manufacturer that you were okay. Like buying the halls this week and using the RR to buy the noxema deal.

    • Coupon Dad

MY WAG WILL NOT TAKE THE Q'S AT ALL- They say that it is too far away from their sale price- I asked them to sell the Nivea to me at 2 for $6 and they wouldnt do that either- I showed them the printed policy and the manager got very rude and asked that I not come back to her store – I called Customer Service and filed a complaint against the manager yesterday – I will use my RRs today at another store but I will not go back to WAG and I will try to encourage others to start using RA or CVS in my area –

CVS will make more $ taking the coupon than me walking out the door. They will get reimbursed .50 more on each item than they are selling it for – that is 18% more profit for them that goes straight to the bottom line!

      • Llawson3

        What is your area?

      • Rlvhewett

I was told by a manager at Wags that they would only take two of my Nivea coupons but when I got up to the checkout it took all four. I only got one of my RR and that was on the Listerine. I purchased 8 toothbrushes, 2 Listerines, and more things but I am not sure what else would give RR.

    • Rlvhewett

I so did not do well on my first trip to Walgreen's yesterday. I forgot to give them a couple of their in-store coupons, the one's on the soup and aspirin. I spent $42 on merchandise that originally rang up for $90, so that was good. My dear husband isn't liking my drugstore adventures because they are costing about $40 per weekend but I do have a stockpile of merchandise. I think I will stick to CVS!

      • Mamaberry

For future reference… They will refund q's if you forgot to give them. Just take your receipt and store q's in and they can pull up the transaction, scan your q's and give you $$ back. Just an FYI.
On another note, you should really have little to no expense on your drug store purchases. You should be using your RR or ECB and rolling smaller transactions to cut your out of pocket. Check out Jenny's guide to getting started for some neat tips!
        hth!

    • Kaniaestates

I was able to use 6 of the Nivea at the WAG in Evans, Ga. They still had quite a few left yesterday morning.

    • Ilovewdw

Today was my first real “good” week at Wags….I normally go to CVS but Wags is closer to house….I wish Mont Adv. got the good freebie coupons….didn't get nivea or schick for the free razor (booooo).

I did however do the …buy your stuff with prev. RR first….go to your car…come back and use the new RR and good coupons….my second transaction came to .93….plus tax….first was 13.63…I got nutrigrain x 2, glad, blistex n first transaction…then Nivea (no man coupon boooo), Dawn, hefty freezer bags x2 (BOGO and coupon)….I had $1 RR leftover that wouldn't go through (7 cents short) so I gave it to the poor guy behind me in line buying kids medicine…who had to wait for the cashier to stare at everything….he was grateful.

    • Aconnor007

You can avoid all the drama at Walgreens trying to use the Nivea $3 coupon. Go to Walmart, the Body Wash is $3.97 there and for 97 cents you can have the product and no arguments.

      • macboy

If you do that, take the ad with you and price match. Shoot, maybe they will allow you to price match it at $3.00 instead of $2.50. The Nivea was $4.10 or so at Target.

    • Jstephensonc21

I have not been able to print out the coupons. Very frustrated. I have Windows 7. Any suggestions from anyone?

    • MandyW

Can someone explain sales tax? I got two bags of Ricolo cough drops free but paid 14 cents sales tax. (7%) If the bag had cost $1 (7 cents) but on sale for 50 cents – I would have only paid 4 cents. How do I owe sales tax on nothing?

      • MandyW

Found my own answer :-) on the Dept of Rev site. “…manufacturer's coupon represents a promise to compensate the dealer at a future date. Since consideration is paid in exchange for accepting the coupon and compensation by the manufacturer occurs after the sale is completed, the coupon is applied after sales tax is calculated.” Oh well…14 cents is mighty cheap for 2 bags!

    • Mljohnson

How is the Windex deal suppose to work? The $3 off is for the Windex and the free item is only when you buy the Scrubbing Bubbles? I am not coming up with 6.99 plus the free refill. Can someone explain?

    • Marygreen_rn

got $5.00 off the SCRUBBING BUBBLES AUTO SHOWER CLEANER this am in my email from Right@home – makes it $4.99 with RR – going to buy another for Christmas.

Also, there are more coupons in the box when you buy it!

      • Marygreen_rn

and I went this evening and was able to use the coupon for the free refill too – ended up getting the whole thing with refill for $5.99 – $30 value.

        • Sshoulders

Thanks for posting your transactions. Would have missed it.

    • momof2

I am somewhat new to couponing like this and I just wanted to share my Walgreen's experience today. I wanted some opinions as to why 2 of my coupons didn't want to work. I had 2 Nivea for men body wash and 5 Nivea for women body wash. These are the coupons I had: (2) $3.00 off 1; (2) $3.00 off 2; (2) $1.00 off 1; and (1) $2.00 off 1. For some reason, they had to manually type in the last (2) coupons I gave (which were the $1 off 1 and $2 off 1). By the way, after all 7 coupons, my total was only $1.50!!

      • Bluebellscreams

You bought 7 body washes and used coupons for 9?
        (2) 3 off 1=coupons for 2 body washes
        (2) 3 off 2=coupons for 4 body washes
        (2) 1 off 1=coupons for 2 body washes
        (1) 2 off 1=coupon for 1 body wash

The last two wouldn't go through because you didn't have those items. After the first 5 coupons, you had already used coupons for 7 body washes. You shouldn't have been able to use the last 2 coupons at all.

        • Bluebellscreams

Also your 1st 2 coupons (the 3 off 1) were worth more than the body wash itself. Walgreens usually adjusts the value of the coupon down. At my Walgreens the register will beep if the coupon is higher then the product and they will manually adjust it. From what I understand, this is the case at almost every Walgreens. I'd say you got lucky today. You should have paid 5.50 based on the coupons you had, and on Walgreens coupon policy.

          • macboy

I wish someone would have told my cashier that. I'll be back on Saturday with a copy of the policy this time…

            • Brooke

I am going to try it tonight at mine. I am going to the cosmetics counter this time though. The lady is usually very nice and knows how to do the whole coupon thing. I am crossing my fingers that it works!

        • momof2

Oh! So I misunderstood the rules! I thought I could use the same number of coupons as I had items, even if they were save on 2.

So was I wrong yesterday at Walgreens when I bought:

2 boxes of Capri Suns at 2 for $4

          1 Wal Greens Cola $.39

          and used

Save $1 on 2 Capri Suns from Family Fun Mag

Save $1 on 2 out of Walgreens October coupon booklet

$2 RR for a grand total of $0.39 before tax?

No one has questioned me or anything, so I thought I must have been doing it right. Now I feel guilty!

          • Brooke

It was ok to do that because one is a store q and the other is a manufacturer q.

            • momof2

Even if the Family Fun coupon had Walgreens on it? In other words, both coupons had walgreens on them.

            • Bluebellscreams

It may have still been a mfg coupon, even if it had the Walgreens logo on it. That happens sometimes. I can’t say for sure because I haven’t seen that particular coupon. It will usually say “Manufacturer Coupon” up at the top (usually on the left) if it’s a mfg coupon, even if it has a particular store’s logo on it.

But, yes, the rules are 1 mfg and 1 Walgreens coupon per item.

You can see the Walgreen’s coupon policy here: http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp?_requestid=37856

            • momof2

Thanks! I feel a little less guilty now.

    • I got 4 of the Nivea Body Wash for free. I used 2 of the $3 off one body was coupons and also I used one $3 off 2 body wash coupon and one $1 RR from last week. It was awesome !!!!!

    • JAROCHAGCC1

MY WALMART THAT IS ON EASTWAY DR IN CHARLOTTE DON`T TAKE INTERNET COUPONS …BOOOOOOOOOOOO

      • dannysangel

Contact the corporate office. Email info is on their website.. They will be taking them by the end of the week.. Mine tried that too and after I emailed corporate about it I got a call from the mgr with an apology and I haven't had ANY problems since then

    • I stopped in today at Wags just to try out the Nivea deal before teaching my next coupon class. I bought 3 Nivea bodywash and used two $2 Q and one $1. Paid .50 cents plus tax. No issues, no beeps, no arguing from the cashier. Afterwards I asked her about what i had been reading on here and she said there should be NO problem using three of those $3 coupons on 3 bodywash IF you had something to absorb the overage! I am just stumped as to why everyone is having issues with it!! WEIRD!!!

      • Mjclark1977

I think that is the key “if you had something to absorb the overage.” Buying the Nivea and nothing else makes the register beeps and they won't give customers money back.

        • macboy

I bought 2 dozen eggs and rubbing alcohol with my Nivea body wash. That would have definitely absorbed the $0.50. The register still beeped because the coupon was worth more than the product and the cashier just wasn't going to hear my argument, so I voided the wash and left.

    • Patricia

I went to the Walgreens in Pickens SC yesterday. I bought 2 Nivea Body Washes and had 2 $3 coupons and some other things. I gave them all my coupons and when it came to the 2nd body wash coupon it beeped. I was nice and told the cashier that they would have to adjust the coupon. He called the manager. She popped off it shouldn't have took the first coupon. She started to tell me that I couldn't do that. I reached in my coupons and handed her the Walgreens Coupon Policy. She adjusted the coupon and never said anything else. Take a copy of their coupon policy with you.

      • Brooke

I don't understand why these stupid managers don't know the coupon policy????

      • 1penguinonfire

It even says on their flyer next to the bodywash, that there are coupons in the sunday paper!

      • Chazree

I wish I had checked WAGS coupon policy before going today. Does anyone have the link to it?? I can't find it on their website.

I just got back from there trying to complete transaction #3 Jenny has here. The computer would not allow me to use 2 coupons for the 2 Coffee Mates due to it being B1G1 the manager on the phone said. Then the computer would not allow her to ring up the Nivea $3 off coupon the cashier looked at it for awhile and said it was because it was over the price. I didn't argue other than just asking politely why not in each case and if she could check.

I love your idea of printing out the policy and taking it with you. Awesome! Now if I could just find it. Thanks.

    • Gm 1enlsocean

my walgreens says all the coupons from the oct. coupon book are manufacturer coupons so i cant use them for store coupons….that bites!

      • macboy

I just used the October book's Benefiber coupon with an internet manufacturer's coupon.

    • Molly Bridges

Okay … If I am reading the WALGREENS policy correctly you can not use a coupon that exceeds the price or sale price of an item in any circumstance. Even if there are other items that absorb the overage. it says it three times: once under “Sale Items” once under “Multiple Coupons” and once under “Buy One, Get One Free”

This seems to be in contradiction to the statement under “General” that says “The toal value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction”

this is why it was beeping on our second Nivea and second Coffee Mate Coupons. Does anyone know the official interpretation of the policy?

      • TIf

I work at Walgreens, this is our coupon policy… you can olny use one coupon per item that you buy,, example.. you buy the 2 nivea body washes and use the $3 off 2 bottles of body wash, that will be the only mnfgr coupon you can use, but if you have a RR u can you that aswell, b/c u got 2 items, So if you buy 6 items and have 8 coupons (not including the In store coupons) it will only accept 6 of those coupons.. and it will not let you use a $2 off coupon on an item that is on sale for anything less that the $2. I have actually price modified items to a higher price for a customer before so they can use their coupons, but that will be up to the manager at that store to decide if they can do that or not. Hope this helps. Any more questions feel free to ask!

        • Mamaberry

I'm not sure if Molly really meant the number of coupons that would be allowed. I think it was more of if you have a Nivea $3 off 1 q, you have overage. So, is the coupon rejected? or do you dumb it down to the actual cost remaining?

Molly, this is what I found:

“Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item”

“The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).”

and “When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.”

So, it appears that the coupons would be dumbed down to match the actual prices the items are sold for… i.e. no overage?? :( Just seems weird that it doesn't seem to beep until the 2nd q is scanned. Maybe a filler will trick the system? Is every store on the same version of the download from corporate for the coupon policy? idk…strange!

          Very sad indeed….

          hth!!

I've never quite understood adjusting the coupon value down. Won't they get back the full value of the coupon when they send it in??

I guess sometimes it's an even trade…we often have moneymakers with the RRs. So I guess now they have one too :)

I was told it is Walgreen's policy to reduce the coupon down to the sale price if the coupon exceeds the items value.I know they did this for me this week. I typed Walgreen policy in Jenny search and came up with an old post the had the Walgreen's policy. I just printed it to carry just in case. Hope this helps.

I am a beauty adivisor at walgreens and i feel sorry for the cashiers who have to deal with some of you people. I love coupon shoppers don't get me wrong. I have coupon shoppers who only come to me because i understand the coupon policy but its the part when they get so greedy. Do you really need 8 bodywashes? thats stupid. You people need to learn how to save some for other people because we have to hear about it all week how we are out of it. Our store ordered over 150 pieces and we were out by monday. I feel sorry for the people who don't get it and they actually need it.

        Hi Teresa,

My sister works at Walgreens and has problems with one or two coupon shoppers. But that is the exception, not the norm. Please try not to be so judgmental of a group as a whole. You'll have a much happier life if you focus on acceptance and not judging.

        • macboy

I'm so over the “stop judging” part. Telling someone not to judge is a judgment.

          • Monica

Yes it is. But I was trying to think of a nice way to say it's not your place to complain here on our boards.

Guess I should not have been nice?

Just as an FYI, I've held lots of service jobs and you just need to suck up the stuff that irritates you and move on with your life, Seriously. And just be thankful that you have a JOB!!!

            • Monica

Sorry macboy, I did not mean you, when I saidyou :0 I meant the original poster.

Haha, guess we're all kind of wacky with the way we say things tonight!!

            • macboy

I understood what you were saying and there was no offense taken. People do things that may be weird to us, but, yeah, we never really know their true motives, so I guess it is better to spend our energy thinking about things that will actually help us out instead of complaining about what other people do.

Teresa–in my former life I did some retail work at a shoe store. I understand that not every customer is pleasant and gracious when they come through the check-out line. However, as a check-out clerk, or in your case as a beauty adviser, it is not your place to judge what someone purchases, or how much. You don't know what they plan to do with those purchases. Is it still greedy if your customer uses those 8 body washes to donate to a food pantry or homeless shelter for the use of their patrons? How about if your customer has a large family? What if they purchase 8 at a time and don't buy any more for another year? “Need” is subjective and not yours to determine.

Giving the pictures of these stockpiles (perhaps in the closet HOARDING), Maybe she does have a point. What if someone was taught couponing as a method to help get their financial life in order only to come to the store and not be able to buy anything because someone bought 20 “free” dish soaps in one transaction? Don't get me wrong. I love this website and have saved a ton since using it in June, but sometimes you have to think about other shoppers. I don't think you can do it at Wags, but I know that the lady that runs the popular Publix site always goes to customer service and puts in special orders when there is a big sale. Maybe that's the way to go so that other customers can benefit from the sale too. I was a dishwasher one summer in college, and I would hate it when a party of 20 would show up 10 minutes before the restaurant closed. It's kinda the same thing.

Wow, my grammar was wacky in that post. :-)

Last night I bought 10 bags of dog treats for free. Does that make me greedy? Even though today I gave them to the local animal shelter?

        • Monica

          Good for you Damahurin.

I rescue animals and this is great to hear.

Well, I went to my Wags on Monday to get the Nivea Body Wash. They had a full shelf, but I couldn't get the cashier to budge and I didn't have a copy of the coupon policy with me. I go back today (Friday) and the shelf is empty. Well, I guess I can't get any, but at least someone there obviously knows the policy now.

Went to Wags tonight to get Nevea for men body wash. They let me use 1 $3 coupon but not my second one. I even talked to the assistant manager and he said he couldn't change the value of the Q, which is on the official policy. They told me I could use $1 off Q if I had one and the only one I had was for womens bw, which I didn't even buy and it went through their register just fine!!! Asst mgr told me he could only change the coupon amount if it was for a penny, not .50. then he said it was coupon fraud if he changed the value. I put a call in to Wags cus. service and apparently sr. mgmt will be calling me and the store to address this issue. YAY for me bc that guy was a jerk.He told me to come back Sun when they weren't on sale.

I had a manger from office depot tell me to come back when something wasn't on sale too! I tried to explain to the cashier that the whole point of using a coupon was b/c the item was ON SALE. I guess they didn't understand that I wasn't trying to use a coupon just for the heck of using a coupon…..

    • Dianahousoeflite

could you tell where I would find the flu is ready booklet or the walgreens vitamin and minerals supplement booklet? I want to buy the emergen-c with the coupon. Thanks!

They have been at the counter or near the door next to the circular for me…

Montgomery, AL folks…..love the Walgreens on Perry Hill. They know how to handle the coupons according to the online policy. Walgreens on Brown Springs is not even aware of their own coupon policies. They refused to let me use the Nivea $3 off coupon and refused to adjust price (of the coupon as stated in the policy when I nicely suggested it as the other Walgreens did it) at the register. The manager wouldn't even read the policy I had with me….just said…we don't DO THAT here…..you can't get it free! She tried to keep the coupon too….I told her I wanted my property back since I wasn't getting the product…and took it to Perry Hill rd with no problems.
