    • Melanie

      Jenny,

I went to Walgreens yesterday and got the Excedrin Menstral Complete, which was free with coupons, but they charged me tax as if I did not use coupons. Is this the way it should be?

      Thanks!

    • Min

      Jenny,

At my Walgreens, you must have the same amount of products as you do coupons. I could not do the top scenario. I wish I could though!

Do you know the policy for coupons at Walgreens?

      Thanks!

      Min

    • Jen

At my walgreens in Pensacola they will only take 1 easy saver coupon per transactin… if the coupon says limit 1 – then they will only let you get 1. But the coupon says limit 1 per coupon. What do you think ? To me I should be able to use as many coupons as I want…hhhmmmm

    • I’ve seen the Coffeemate $1.50 coupons suggested in several places, and above suggestion is to use two. I can not get more than one to print at the coffee mate site. Is there another way?

    • Hollis

I had to raincheck my 8 Dove soap bars at .99 today in hopes that the $10 RR deal would work the week of 3/8 also. What are my chances?

    • Suzanne

For the coffee mate, hit the back button (may have to do this several times) and another one will bring. I think 2 is the limit though.

At Walgreens, you do have to have at least the same number of items as you do Mfg coupons, however the easy saver coupons don’t count into this.

I have a question about the huggies coupons. How do you know that hte $5 will work for any type huggies diapers? I’m curious because I need size 3s and the gentle care only go to size 2s. I want to be able to use my $5 coupons, and I want to be informed when I go to Walgreens, since mine will question me a lot…

    • Becca

Where are the Walgreens coupons found? In their flyer in the Sunday paper?

      Thanks!

    • Jenny

At any Walgreens you can only have the same number of Manufacturer coupons as products. So for transaction one above I am using 9 Manufacturer coupons and buying 9 items. The computer will not beep or have any issues. You are then allowed to stack a store coupon with a manufacturer item for any purchase the computer will not beep or cause any problems.

Here is what I would recommend giving your manufacturer coupons first then any store coupons. You only need to cut one store coupon out for each item. Only hand them one! The computer will automatically take the other amounts off when it is scanned. Buy only handing them one of each they won’t feel so overwhelmed with the number of coupons you are using.

For stores that are only letting you use one Easy Saver coupon, are they voiding out the automatic discount from the computer?

    • The Dove Deal is a month long reward deal at Walgreens. :)

    • Whitney

      Hi Jenny,
Do you know about how long it takes to get back the Easy Saver gift card? I did it last month for the 1st time near the end of Feb.

    • carole

      RR tip:
Ask your Publix manager if they’ll accept them. Most of the RR are MANUFACTURER coupons, even though they sure look like a Wags Q.
My Publix is right next to Wags, so I just go right on over to Publix and use my RR (if there are no more deals to be had at Wags!!)
Thanks, Jenny, for allllll your hard work on our behalf!!!

    • Tracie

      Hi Jenny,

My sister went to Walgreen’s last week with her deals. They told her they would not accept printed coupons. UGH. From what I am reading above, that does seem to be true. I don’t have a Walgreen’s here to compare. Help.

      Tracie

    • Kristin

I had such trouble today at Walgreens trying to use my coupons and RR. This is what I was trying to do

      2 M&M
      $1/2 MQ
      $1/2 WGQ
      2 Pantene
      2 $1.00 MQ
      1 Colgate Toothpaste
      $.50 MQ
      $6.00 RR
      $2.00 RR
      $2.00 RR
They would not let me do it. I then broke it down into 2 transactions
      2 Pantene
      2 $1.00 MQ
      1 Colgate Toothpaste
      $.50 MQ
      $6.00 RR
      Paid $1 and change
      2 M&M
      $1/2 MQ
      $1/2 WGQ
Wanted to use my $2.00 RR but they would not let me.
I am very confused as to how this works and why you can’t use RR sometimes. Can someone explain?

    • Kristie

I dont understand why some Walgreens will not accept printed coupons when their own website links you to coupons.com for printable coupons. Ask the manager that question and see what their response is…

    • Allison

I tried to do the Huggies deal today and did not get any RR for them. They said since they are not advertised in their paper this week there’s nothing I can do about it, so I returned them and got my coupons back. Where did you find that deal published? I’d love to go back and try again if I can.

    • Sara

Do you know if the Huggies Goodnites (disposable underwear for bigger kids) are included in thee Register Rewards deal? And would the $5 and $3 Huggies coupons work on them? I’m not even sure if Walgreens sells Goodnites, since I’ve never bought them there, but I’m hoping they do!

    • Suzanne

The RR says that it is considered to be a manufacturers Q, so if you don’t have the # of items to cover the RR, then it will beep. Try a small filler (like Walgreens travel tissues at $.29 or a small pack of gum for each RR that you are using and it should work.

    • Jenny

I don’t know if the Huggies coupons will work on Good nights. If you are able to use a regular huggies insert coupon on goodnights then you can use these printables. They are same bar codes as the insert coupons.

Allison – all of the deals above do not start until Sunday at every Walgreens across the country. So hold off and try on Sunday.

    • sarah

      allison

these deals start on 3/8 which is not until sunday..go back then & try again!!

    • Melissa

I also wonder about the will work for any type. A couple of times this week I was halted by having the wrong type of something. Just today, someone had put a box of Blink Contacts in the regular Blink row and I wasn’t paying attention. The $2.00 Blink mfr. Q wouldn’t work with it.

Same thing with the Novitra printable Q at Rite Aid this week. My Rite Aids only carried the Relief Cream, not the Treatment, which the coupon was for. It beeped and none of them would put it through.

    • Rachel

When a RR reward deal says that “Limit 1 coupon printed per offer” does that mean that you can only get 1 RR printed or is that 1 every time you purchase the required amount? I would like to buy multiple Crest Pro-Health toothpastes with the $1 RR back but I’m confused about the wording in the ad.

Thanks for all you do. I really rely on your work.

    • Jenny

To detail why these coupons will work…

Go grab a general Huggies coupon from your recent SS insert.
Now here are the numbers to look at
      Generic Bar Code:
      5-11111-22233-0

The 222 number is what will tell you what product the coupon will work on. You will see on both printable coupons the 222 number is the same number. You will also notice that the 222 number is the same 222 number that is on the regular any Huggies coupon that comes in your sunday paper.

The 33 numbers are the only differences between the three coupons, those 2 numbers are what tells the computer how much to take off for the item so they should be different since the coupon values are different.

    • Jenny

      Rachel,

You can buy more than 1, however you can’t use the RR from the first transaction to pay for another tube of toothpaste. The next RR won’t print if you paid with the same RR. You could buy the toothpaste, buy something else pay with the RR, get whatever RR comes from the other product you bought and then buy another toothpaste.

      Do that make sense?

    • Kristen

Has anyone ever tried using a Food Lion store coupon (as a competitor) at Walgreens? There is a $1.50 of Huggies at Food Lion this week and I thought about the Huggies deal ar Walgreens. Just thought I’d ask if anyone has attempted..

    • Susan

I have a 24 hour Walgreens right down the street from my 24h CVS…very nice! Does anybody know if I can shop Sat. night after 6 pm like at CVS? Thanks!

    • samea

jenny..thanks for all ur work..Q for u..i got a $3 catalina off J&J when i did that deal, so if i want to do it again, can i use that catalina..and can i stack it with a manufacture just like a walgreens Q?

    • Brandi

Just an FYI for those of you who have the P&G $120 qpon book…I took both of my $5 off Olay Definity and Regenerist coupons (they specify moisturizer) and used one at Wags and one at CVS to buy the Daily cleanser (cream) which was $5.99 at both stores. No problem, the qpon was accepted at both Wag and CVS with no problem. I really needed some cleanser and I thought $ .99 was a great buy for Olay products!

    • Andrea

I’m just wondering if the cashier will object if I try to buy Natural Fit Huggies using the Gentle Care q because the q specifically says “$5 off on Gentle Care Huggies”. I have to work with the same cashiers every week, so I don’t want them to think I’m trying to commit coupon fraud! Gasp! What should I say if she notices?

    • Another good deal at Walgreens. I had 5 $2/2 hershey’s candies coupons for the larger bags of candies, which are generally pretty expensive even when they’re on sale, so I had not used them. On their online ad Walgreens had these big bigs listed as 2 for $7 with a $3 coupon in their in-store coupon book. Which would make them a $1 each after both coupons. When I went to buy them, however, their in-store flyer and the coupon in the book were only for their easter candy, which, of course, my $2/2 coupon was not good for. I asked the cashier to try it anyway and the two coupons worked together and they were $1 a bag.

    • Amanda

Hi I am wondering if we can use coupon with value exceeding the prices of items. For example, Coffee Mate Creamer B1G1 at $2.49 ea. Using 2x $1.5 off coupon will make it -$0.51. Will that get through or will it got beeped? Thanks!

    • scott

i started doing walgreens last month. how late into march will i go before i get my gift card?? thanks, scott

    • Kim

      Hi,
I’m really new to all of this, can anyone tell me how you know if you have “register rewards”? I’m confused becaue I’m just learning how to do all this coupon stuff, I’m now addicted but still learning…Anyway, is the register rewards printed out like another coupon or how does it work? Thanks!!!

    • kristie

does anyone know if a walgrees is 24 hours does the weekly sale start at midnight??

    • ivy

I’m confused about using multiple coupons on the same transaction. You have a for example for buying the huggies diapers using 3 MQ for three huggies diapers. The coupon states “Limit One coupon per purchase” Doesn’t that mean only one coupon can be used? HELP

    • Marie

I’m not too familiar with Glade products, so I’m wondering about the $4.00 coupon for Glade Sense & Spray in your scenario. The coupons say for a Glade Sense & Spray Holder. Is there a different coupon for what goes in the holder?
Thanks, Jenny, for all of the many, many hours you must put in doing this for everyone. You are amazing, and I am so grateful.

    • Jennifer

I am trying to find the $2.00 off Garnier products q in the easy saver book. The only one I see is for hair color. Is that going to work on shampoo?

    • Nikki

Has anyone had problems with their Walgreens not wanting to stack an Easy Saver Q with a manufacturer Q??? Last week, my cashier gave me a hard time about using the Easy Saver Q for excedrin after I had already used my manufacturer Q. She said they weren’t supposed to take them both since they Easy Saver Q’s all say “manufacturer coupon”. She ended up taking them both because I had done the exact same deal the day before and told her that. Does anyone know the actual Walgreens policy on this???

    • Kelly

Jennifer, that q is on page 18 at the top of the easy saver book. Thats the one for shampoo, conditioner or stylers. Hope that helps!

    • Gerri

My WG’s will not take IP coupons. Is it up to each individual store whether they will take these or not?

    • Vivian

Where can I get the in-store Walgreen coupons book?
I went to Walgreen today, but I did not see any. Help!
      Thank you.

    • Shon

      WARNING!!!!!

The RR for the Gillette Fusion & Advil PM are no longer printing. The manager told me that they were changed at the last minute to be Mail-in Rebates instead. Maybe this is just in my store (FL), but please ask before purchasing them.

    • Andrea

Last week Walgreens kept rejecting my RR and I did not try to buy the same items. So now I have about $20 RR and I need to use them–I am hoping I can use them this week.

    • Here’s a link to my post where I saved over $90 and paid nothing out of pocket
      http://couponkatie.com/the-proof-3-8-09-saved-over-90-and-spent-0-out-of-pocket/

    • Amanda

Kristie, I went to Walgreens at 6:00pm last night and the sales were already in the register for the next day. I was really happy with my clerk as she even gave me manufactured coupons for one of my purchases that I didn’t have.

    • Erin

Coffeemate B1G1 Question: I was not able to use 2 coupons b/c they said the second item rang up at $0.00. Is there a way to get them to take both?

    • Kelly

I went to Walgreens this morning and had 2 carts full! I was HOPING that everything would work and they would accept all my q’s. THEY DID!!! I save $208!!! But the coffee creamer $1.50 q would beep on the second one because of the second item ringing up for free. But i just told the cashier I had 2 products and had 2 q’s….he pushed them through :) Other than that everything went through fine!

    • tee

I went to Walgreens this morning to get the Colgate and the Garnier conditioner. The qs for the conditioner worked. I tried to use 2 Colgate qs from Easy Saver and 2 qs from All Well & Good. The register beeped after the 2nd q from AW&G. The cashier stated that he could not use this q as the item would be free and the overage could not be applied to the tax. So, if you plan on doing this scenario, through in a filler item like gum or something. Tried again at another location, there are two of them w/in 2 miles of each other, and, when I added a filler item, all the qs were taken and the register didn’t beep.

    • Hayli

What’s the deal with the Walgreen’s coloring book and Easy Saver Rebate book? How do I get them?

    • Amanda

I bought the Huggies diaper this morning with the $5 coupons but DID NOT get RR. Asked the manager and he said probably because the coupons were such a high value. I’m thinking that you have to spend $25 after all coupons to get the RR. I also did not get my RR for the Crest Pro-Health toothpaste. Not sure why, but I didn’t realize it until I was home. I still saved $96 and change and only spent 10.58 OOP.

    • Crista

Just to add info….I have SEVERAL Walgreens in my town and I just found one that causes trouble (I won’t be going there anymore). They will only let you use the in-store coupon up to the limit AND won’t let you use more than one to get more of the same item in one transaction. So last night I went with my mom so she could get the dove soap deal. They wouldn’t let her get more than 3 with q and wouldn’t let her use anymore of the q’s in the same transaction! Even the manager backed it up. I found out that they put the coupon in after the first 3 (if you have more than the limit) and then the register won’t take it off any rung up after that (I asked because I wanted to know how they stopped it from automatically taking the coupons off all the items). So that’s how they do it if they enforce it. I don’t think it says you can only use one coupon. That’s not how I read it! But I wasn’t going to push any further since I have several more Walgreens to choose from….but of course this was my Mom’s FIRST couponing experience…I don’t think she will be doing it again….that’s okay though, she came home with me and shopped out of my closet! LOL

Oh, I did have a guy tell me (at my good Walgreens) that I could only use one RR per transaction…which I’ve used more than one at that store before (I had plenty of items to cover the number of q’s I was using). He put it through for me as I was asking to see if he would just try it. He said he knew it would go through, but he wasn’t SUPPOSE to do it. That doesn’t make any since to me since they are manufacturer q’s. I could understand weird policy on store q’s but not on manufacturer ones…that’s like telling me I can’t use two $1 bills in the same transaction to me!

I hate it went they keep changing the rules!

      :O)

    • Tracey

I went to my Walgreens to buy the Garnier Fructis deal and gave them 2 products, 1 of their store coupons and then 2 of the manufacturer’s coupons. For some reason the Walgreens coupon was not registering the $2.00 off for both products. I am in Atlanta. Not sure if it only works in certain areas. I tried another Walgreens here and the same thing happened. Actually the coupon wasn’t working at all and so the manager did a price adjustment for product, making it .99. But, then the computer wouldn’t take the $1.00 off manufacturer’s coupon because it was more than what I was paying for the product! The cashier said I couldn’t use it. Bummer! I am not liking Walgreens as much as CVS! Any suggestions? Anyone else having a hard time using the Garnier Fructis Walgreens coupon?

      Tracey

    • Lori

      Hello-

My Redplum coupon insert did not have the Garnier coupon that I planned to use at Walgreens. Was it included?
Do they have different verions depending on area?

      Thanks for your help.

      Lori in Delaware

    • Jenny, thank you so much for your great information each week! It really helps me shop. I posted my scenario on my site and linked back to yours! All the best, Abbie

    • Jennifer (palmettosweetheart)

Here is a summary of my Walgreens trip today. I got:

      (2) Coffeemate 16oz Creamers
      (2) Colgate Total Toothpaste
      (2) Bottles of Garnier Fructise Shampoo
      (2) Bottles of Garnier Fructise Hairspray
      (3) Glade Sense and Spray
      (1) Glade Lasting Impressions (would have been two, but they only had the one so mngr let me sub a Sense & Spray)
      (1) package of Huggies size 1 diapers (for a gift)
      (2) packages of Huggies size 2 diapers (for a gift)

      Subtotal after coupons: $9.91
      after tax : $15.59

Plus, I was supposed to get $10 RR which didn’t print. So the manager took off one of the packages of diapers and I got back $10.70!!

      So GRAND TOTAL was $4.89!!!!

They couldn’t push through the second $1.50 coupon on the Creamer since the second item is free. My Colgate Total coupons (both $1.50) wouldn’t scan either. :(

    • Marie

Jennifer, the Sense and Spray, was it the holder or an item to go in the holder? My coupons say for a holder.

    • Brooke

I stopped at Walgreen’s first thing this morning on the way to church and purchased 2 of the Glade Lasting Impressions and Glade Sense & Spray. I had the BOGO coupon for both and I could only find the $4 off coupon for the Sense & Spray. I wish I had peeked inside the Lasting Impressions box…There was a $3 off coupon in all 4 boxes plus a coupon for the refills. Could have been $7 money maker instead of $4 if I had looked inside. I’m not complaining, still an awesome deal. I might print more BOGO coupons and go back, I just have a feeling they may be hard to find later in the week. Fortunately I pass two Walgreen’s going to and from work everyday and an additional two on my way to and from church.

    • Kim

New at this stuff but just wanted to let y’all know that I have used 3 of the huggies $5 off coupons at my local publix, I bought 3 of the $2.99 pks of wipes (Make sure it reads “Gental care”) I ended up with $6 in overage, used it on a package of huggies pull ups with a $2 pull up coupon, I only ended up paying $2.17 for one Jumbo pack of pull ups and 3 boxes of wipes! Whoo hoo!!! ;) The coupon will work on the wipes if they say “Gental Care” The brest cancer tub is “gental care” just so you know. ;)

      Please Help!!
I went to a Walgreens this morning, used 3 Huggies $5.00 off Q’s and it got my $10 RR…no problem. I turned around and used the rewards on 2 more packs of diapers with more $5.00 q’s. THEN, I went to do that same scenario all over again at a different Walgreens and it did NOT spit out my RR…why is this? The manager was confused and said there was nothing she could do, but she assumed it was b/c the q’s made my deal total less than the $25.00 purchase requirement. Is this right? It worked for me the first time. Are there any suggestions as to how to get my RR now?

Also, neither Walgreens would take my Garnier coupons with the Easy Saver q, saying they would owe me a penny. They would not have “owed” me anything as I was doing this at the same time as the diapers. Does this make sense??? I am so confused and frustrated!

    • Regina

I just got back from trying to purchase Pull Ups with the $5 Huggies coupon combined with the $10 register rewards and had no luck. The clerk tried to scan the coupon and it wouldn’t work, she said that she had the same thing happen earlier in the day. I ended up using some $2 coupons that I had and got a good deal – just not the fantastic deal that I was hoping for.
Is there something that I was doing wrong?
I seem to have issues with Walgreens every time that I go…. I’m starting to think that going there isn’t worth the hassle!

    • Ashley

      Jenny,
I am very new to this! I want to do the Huggies $5 off, but the coupon says huggies Gentle Care. Can you just get regular diapers, or do they have to be Gentle Care?

    • Ashley

^I meant to put Pull Ups. I would be getting Pull Ups instead of Gentle Care diapers!

    • Ashley

Nevermind. I found where you said that it will work on any Huggies.
For some reaon only 2 of my coupons printed, and the other 2 never did. Now it says that my limit has been reached. Does anyone know a way around that? I wanted to do the Huggies RR!

    • Laura

I don’t think anyone else has mentioned this, but the last time I went to Rite Aid, which was several weeks ago, they had $1 off any Garnier coupons by the Garnier WonderWaves display. Not sure if they’re still there, but I scooped up a bunch and am very excited about this deal! Thanks for laying everything out so helpfully–I’m very impressed with this site so far!

    • Beth

I just went to Walgreens for the first time. I had all of my coupons ready and had my list according to what was suggested this week. I had planned to do 4 seperate orders to get the RR’s. I was totally shocked when I went to the register and they told me I could only get 1 of each product and that I could not be rung up more than once in a day. No multiple orders!! My question is what store tells their customers that they cannot shop there more than once a day?? This is crazy. I fully intend on calling their corporate office to complain and I will find a new WG to go to. Has anyone else had this problem?
I did get the one order and spent $27 out of pocket but got $14 in RR. Not too bad but I could have done much better had I been allowed to break up the order and not had to put back over half of the items. UGH!!!

    • Erin

If your RR do not print you can have the manager give you a form to mail-in with a copy of your receipt to get the RR.

    • Kathi

Went to Walgreens. Did the Huggies deal. Went great. However, they had a meeting this morning, the cashier told me, and the management said do not use the Garnier coupon because it was $1.00, and the product was .99 cents. Disappointing.

However, I did have a good time, using RR from previous purchases,

I got 3 packs of diapers, 2 MM’s, 2 Ajax detergents for $7.49 and a $10.00 for next purchase. Used $11.50 in RR coupons on this transaction.

Another purchase was 2 – canned Almonds, 1 Garnier shampoo and 2 m&ms for $1.47. Used $2.00 RR on this transaction.

      This is so addictive!

Not bad. Could have been better to get the shampoo free.

    • Whitney

      Ashley,
Try printing the 3rd Huggies coupon from a different computer. You may have to set up another account using a different email address (like your husband’s maybe).

    • Fern

I went to Walgreens this morning expecting to have problems with the Glades Sense and Spray transaction using the B1G1 and the two $4 off coupons. I only bought two the first time and everything went smoothly, no questions asked. In fact I came out ahead because the cashier gave me $10 towards the second Glades. The coupon said up to $10 and she gave me credit for all $10.
I did purchase a Skintimate shaving cream and never got my $1 RR. I guess I will have to call Catalina and get my RR.
This is so much fun and addictive.
      Thank you Jenny.

    • Angie

Today I went to Walgreens, I got the Advil PM that you were suppose to get back 2.00 RR , well I had a coupon for 2.00 off that I used with it and the RR did not print. The lady was giving me a real hard time but she called the manager over and he says that you cant use a coupon with anything that you are getting back RR on ???? I have never had a problem with that before, has anyone else ?? It was not a good day at Walgreens.

    • Tonya

I was only able to use one Coffee-mate coupon. The register beeped. The cashier said it was because one item rang up free from to BOGO deal.

    • Tonya

      Angie,

That is not true in my area. I used a $2 Advil coupon & still got a $2 RR.

    • is there not an M&Ms deal this week?

    • Misty

I am wanting to get the Glades deal with some other items and was told that you had to use your coupons in a specific order. What order is best? I have the BOGO, manufacturer, and easy saver.

    • Charlene

      Hi Jenny :)
I receive my coupons in The State paper…I live right outside of Columbia…but the neither the Aquafresh or Garnier coupons are in my ads.
Do you know if different sets are distributed in the Columbia area?
      TIA!

    • Andrea

Last week I posted that they were not accepting my RRs to pay for things. They said it was tax (which it was not), they said I used too many coupons, they said so many different things. I just gave up thinking may I am buying things I received them for (which I didn’t think was the case). I decided to just wait for the new specials for this week. Well, today I did the diaper thing (something I have not bought at Walgreens). Well it would not accept any of my RRs. At this point I have 42 RRs which is way too many. Has anyone had this problem before?

    • paige

I got 3 glade lasting impressions
      2 gentle care wipes
      2 huggies dipers
6 Garnier style and shampoo things
6 J&J body wash, thought they were lotion lol
      total after Q’s was 1.84 plus $6.23 tax = $8.07
did not get to use 1 of my huggies $5.00 Q
Just to let everyone know I had to go to 2 different stores one would not let me use but a couple of my Q’s even though they were for the right things. Also did not get my $10 RR

    • Jenny

      Charlene,
We all get the same coupons in our area. I list coupons that we don’t get though because of folks in larger cities that do get them. If you have a way to get the AJC or Charlotte Observer I would recommend it!! They get all the coupons and they get the higher values.

    • I went to Walgreens and did a Huggies Savings Deal!

      I bought 3 packs of Huggies Supreme Diapers @ $10 a package
      I used 3 $5 off Huggies coupons
I paid $17 with tax and all and got a $10 RR ticket

THEN I bought 2 more packs of diapers at $10 each
used 2 MORE $5 coupons, and had to add on some candy to use the RR!!!

I am 38 weeks preggo so I was thrilled to get 5 PACKS OF HUGGIES FOR $20 PLUS some sugar to eat on the drive home!!!

      yeah!

    • Ashley

I do not have the -$4 Glade manufacturers coupon, but I did print the B1G1. The coupon says “Limit one coupon per purchase. Coupons cannot be combined.” So does that mean that I cannot buy 2 glades, get 2 free and then use the $4 WalGreens glade coupon on top of that? Thanks!

    • Jennifer (palmettosweetheart)

      Jenny,

thanks for the headsup that the AJC and TCO have better coupons. I get the Post & Courier and we also didn’t get the Garnier coupons. We might have to go to Barnes & Noble and see how much they charge for those papers. :)

    • wendy

I just went to Wags and my transactions went perfectly! I couldn’t thank you enough for this site. I tell friends about it daily.

    • Janice

I hate Walgreens! Here in Atlanta, all of the stores are extremely strict! The managers don’t even know what they are talking about (in general) in regards to coupons just saying that the item is not included when it is even pictured on the coupon. And there is no way that any of them will push a coupon through. So no go on any deal that is one penny over.

      CVS all the way!!

    • Kim

I just went to Walgreens in Douglasville, GA today. I had a blast! My first time ever loading up a cart with $177 dollars worth of stuff that I normally wouldn’t buy but figured, “hey it’s free” ;) I paid $11 and saved $166!!!!! I’m soooo excited! Thanks Jenny!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t have been able to do this without your site!!!!

    • Terri

I was just reading thru comments and have some answers for you, unless you’ve already gotten them from Jenny:
      1. Walgreens generally accepts IPs (internet printables); if they don’t, it may be regional.
      2. Using RRs is tricky. They have to be given to the cashier FIRST before other coupons; they cannot exceed the total amt of transaction, and that includes sales tax; only one RR per item purchased can be redeemed, regardless of the amt of the item being purchased; they are a coupon, not cash, and the cashier rings them up that way.
      3. Walgreens coupons can be found in both EZSaver Rebate books and in-ads that come out on Sundays (regional, some areas print more in-ads than other areas).
      4. I redeemed the Huggies Gentle Care coupons for any Huggies diapers and wipes and they worked just fine.
      5. Our Walgreens stores accept one EZSaver coupon for ALL items purchased, but if using mfg or printed coupons, you must have one coupon per item purchased.
      6. On the Dove soap, you can NOT get the RRs to print out beyond the week that the ad runs. So you can buy your Dove soap for $.99, but you won’t get the $10 RR to print if the ad expired last Saturday.
      7. Combined coupon terminology just means that you can’t use more than one mfg coupon per item. The cashiers may be confused on this but that’s what it means. I’ve had Rite Aid and Wal-Mart cashiers dispute this…but only until I present them with written confirmation from their corporate headquarters that this interpretation is correct. Same with the terminology of “one coupon per purchase.” That means one coupon per item, not one coupon per transaction. Big difference.
      8. While I’ve heard of a few exceptions–just a few–you cannot use a coupon to get overage on a BOGO item. You can use the B1G1 coupon to get two items; you can use a coupon to get the one paid for for free or less; but you can’t use a coupon other than the B1G1 for the second item.
      9. You CAN use a mfg coupon on an item that generates an RR, as long as it doesn’t exceed the price of the item; however, you can’t use any RR to pay for another item that generates a new RR. You won’t get the new RR to print.

Hope that helps you guys. I’ve been couponing/rebating for years, and the store managers of all of our stores know me on a first name basis. This information comes from my experience and from talking with them and, in some cases, their parent headquarters. Another blog site contacted Walgreens directly to inquire into their corporate policy. It’s pretty brief, but here’s the link, and it’s as I indicated above. http://sensetosave.com/2007/11/05/walgreens-coupon-policy/. Happy Shopping!

    • Tosh

Walgreen’s coupon policy is you can use a manufactures coupon and receive a Register Reward. You cannot use a Walgreen’s coupon and get a Register Reward. I just had a manager tell me I couldn’t use a Huggies coupon and still get the 10RR. I knew that this was not right so I called corporate. That is what they told me. I hope Walgreens will get their act together so that each employee knows the policy!

    • Misty

So I made my trip today and was quite pleased with my Walgreens. I have figured out the order of the coupons also, but you have to be careful because some cashiers scan them any way they want and it throws the system off. Here’s what I did…
      (3) Huggies
      (2) Coffee Mate
      (1) Garnier Fructis Shampoo
      (4) Glade Lasting Impressions
      and as fillers …
      (4) Cadbury Eggs
      (1) gal. Milk

The cashier keyed in the Garnier as $0.99 instead of scanning the store coupon so I couldn’t use my $1 coupon, but with the savings I received, I wasn’t too worried about it. Here’s what did work …

      (1) $10 RR
      (2) B1G1 Glade + (4)$4 Easy Saver + (2) $4 manufacturer
      (3) $5 Huggies printable
      (1) $1.50/2 Coffee Mate + $1 printable

My total before tax was $3.29

Here’s the key. When you go in give them your RR first, manufacturer off 1 item, manufacturer off 2 items, B1G1, and then the store coupons. The amount of coupons cannot exceed the amount of items so always have a non-coupon item as a filler like what I did with the Cadbury eggs and milk and the max is 20 coupons per transaction. Also, get to know the cashiers at your local stores before you drop a load of coupons on them. This way you can tell who will be nice about it and who just really doesn’t want to deal with them.

    • Nancy

I need some clarification on how to use the RR. I know you probably have answered this questions a million times but I’m new to this couponing stuff and still really confused. I did the Dove deal today and received the $10 RR. I asked the cashier if I could use it on any other merchandise or if it had to be Dove product only he told me it could only be used on Dove products. Is this correct? HELP!!!!

    • Jenny

It can be used on anything in the store except tobacco, alcohol, prescriptions and stamps. It seems lately most Walgreens employees are clueless…

    • Misty

If it helps, I got the RR from Dove and used it on diapers with no problem.

    • Kim

For anyone out there who likes the “all nature” medications… try the Sambucol it’s free right now with the printable coupon and the walgreens coupon in the easy saver, I got 3 boxes, tried the stuff last night for a cold and wow! It really did work and it’s all natural! I just printed 4 more coupons and have my easy saver coupon… planning to go get 4 more :D… this stuff is normally $12.99 so stock up while you can if it’s something for you!!!

    • carolin

      Terri or anyone else,

Terri did a greay job. I have a question with 5. Our Walgreens stores accept one EZSaver coupon for ALL items purchased, but if using mfg or printed coupons, you must have one coupon per item purchased. My plan is to buy 2 of the same product. I have 2 coupons and 1 ezsaver coupon or do I need to have 2 ezsaver coupons.

    • Jenny

You only need one Easy Saver coupon and the computer will take off the second amount automatically.

    • Jilana

QUESTION: I know you all are saying that you have to have as many items as you have coupons. Now does that mean the walgreens coupons too? So, if I have an item and I hae a walgreens coupon and a mfc I need to buy two items?
      Thanks guys you are awesome.

    • Stephanie

I went last night to get Huggies. I bought three packs, used three $5 off coupons, and the total was $17 and some change. I did NOT get RR!!

The cashier said it was because my total was less than $25 after coupons.

Thus, I called over a manager, asked for a refund AND my coupons back. He did it, no problem. I then bought 5 packs of Huggies, used five $5 off coupons and got my $10 RR.

It ended up being around $3 a pack. Just SO confusing that some Walgreens will spit out RR after buying just 3 packs, and some Walgreens won’t!

    • Leigh

Just wne to my Walgreens today and was going to get the Lasting Impressions AND the Sense and Spray as I had a $4 off manufacturer’s coupon for each. I was going to stack this with the Walgreen’s $4 coupon they had in their rebate book. I would have then received both items free. I was told I had to choose one or the other that they were told by the manufacturer that they are no longer allowed to stack those. According to the cashier it was something relatively new. Has anyone else had this happen? I had some other stuff I was getting, so it wasn’t an issue with the total being $0. In the end I didn’t get them. Just curious if this is a new thing for them. I have never had that happen before when I stacked a Walgreens and a manucturer’s coupon.

    • Jenny,

DH is yelling that he needs the computer. Will the $5 Huggies coupon work on any diaper? That’s my question. Gentle Care’s only go up to 2 and I need bigger sizes than that!

    • Jessica

I’m thinking that some people may be getting the Huggies RR to print with only 3 packs because they are also buying one or more of the other items in the offer (Kleenex, Poise, Kotex, Scott tissue, or Cottonelle) that keep their post-coupon total over $25. Just a theory, but since I’ll also be buying Kleenex for my daughter’s class, I’ll be testing it out this week.

BTW, the Wal-Zyr is $5.99 for a 5ct pack at my store, so not free after rebate. We go through that stuff like crazy in my house full of allergy sufferers, so even at $2 it’s better than full price.

    • Deb

Just found a printable Dry Idea coupon for $2 that makes the Walgreens Dry Idea special this week actually a money maker. As original price is $2.99 with a $2 printable and a $2 RR as stated above. Haven’t tried it yet, but going tomorrow.

    • Jenny

Yes, the huggies coupon will work for any size or type of huggies diapers without any problems.

    • mp

Melanie, I think most states charge tax no matter what your coupon savings. I got a coupon for a free bag of Pepperidge Farm cookies, but Food Lion in Blackstone, Virginia charged me tax and claimed it was state policy (Commonwealth of Virginia, not Food Lion).

    • Jen

If your Walgreen’s won’t take printables you can go to the Sambucol site and complain about not being able to use their printable at your Walgreens. They sent me the $4 coupon by mail. I also had sent an email to Walgreens about the cashier being rude about the printable I had and mentioned the Sambucol site even links to Walgreens site…they never sent anything back about coupon policies.

    • Carrie

Jenny…just wanted to let you know that I went to WAG last night and they have marked down the Right Guard deodorant to $1.30 plus there was a .75 off coupon in either this week’s paper or last week’s making it .64 total and you get $2 RR

Also, b/c I buy two papers on Sunday (sometimes 3!) I got the Garnier shampoo & conditioner for free plus .02 overage.

    • Blythe

      Jenny,

When the RR didn’t print for my dove purchase (read that it is still working on the soap?), the manager said he wasn’t aware of this deal, and he called another store mgr. and they also knew nothing. He said he would honor the deal if I could show him proof (in print) My question is: Is there a place where you can print what the RR deals are?

Thanks in advance and for all your hard work!

    • Melissa

I did the diaper deal (4 times) today. First time I got one package of the Gentle Care diapers and 2 of the other kind, snuggly or something. They all went thru with no problem, and $10 RR printed.

2nd time, I didn’t get any Gentle Care kind, but 3 of the other kind. Two of the $5 coupons worked, then the 3rd one beeped. The cashier said it will only take so many, I said I bought $30 worth of diapers, and besides, it just worked a few minutes ago. He knew that, so he put it thru.

3rd and 4th times I got 1 bag of the Gentle Fit with each, and then the other Huggies, and had no beeping. Got $10 RRs with no problem.

I didn’t get my $10 RR on the 2nd transaction because I wasn’t paying attention and accidently used the $10 RR I had just gotten from trans. 1, instead of the one from the Dove deal I did last week.
The manager let me “return” the diapers for a refund and re-buy them and the RR printed out.

At first he kept trying to do an exchange instead of return, and the RRs wouldn’t print out. Then he doubted there was even such a deal, and went to look for himself. Then he decided it was because I had to spend $25 to get the RR, but I had only spent like $7.
I said well, that’d be a good theory, but I just did this same deal three other times and the RRs all printed out. I know it is because I accidently used the diaper RR to pay for it.

Finally he did as I asked and did the return and re-rang them up and I got my $10 RR.

    • Terri

A couple additional comments to add to the ones I’d left previously:
      1. No matter how many coupons you have, you will always have o pay sales tax on the items purchased. So if you have coupons that cover all but $10 of your subtotal, and you try to pay for the rest of the balance with a $10 RR, you probably won’t be able to use the RR unless you have a sufficient # of “filler” items to cover the sales tax total generated by all items.
      2. Walgreens managers have told me that you cannot pay for an item that generates an RR (e.g., Huggies) with a previously issued RR and still have the new RR print out. That seems to be their official position; however, while that works out to be true for some purchases, it’s not true for all. Today, I tried cashing in some RRs for more Huggies, thinking that I would just use up my RRs generated by previous Huggies purchases. Surprise, surprise, I got MORE RRs! So there does seem to be sporadic exceptions to the rule.
      3. The Huggies coupons seem to be working on ANY Huggies products as I’ve bought diapers and wipes, Gentle Care, Calming Touch, Natural Fit, and a couple others. No beeping on anything.
      4. Leigh’s comment about the Glade restrictions does seem to be a new policy. I went in today armed with B1G1 coupons AND mfg coupons that would have applied to the one purchased. Rationale was to use the B1G1 to pay for the second item and the mfg coupon for the first item. But mgmt said essentially what Leigh encountered, that the use of a B1G1 coupon applies to both items, not just the one received free.

      Anyway, for what it’s worth.

    • Ashley

I just wanted to say thank you all SO much. I got 2 packs of Huggies, a 12 pk of Cottonelle, 2 Coffee Mates, and Colgate Toothpaste for around $7.50 (pre tax)after you add in RR.I could’ve saved more money doing 3 Huggies instead, but we needed Cottonelle. I am so excited and on such a bargain high. I can tell this is going to get so addicting!

    • Amy

Amanda, I did get beeped on the Coffeemate BOGO transaction. I ended up getting 2 for $1 after using 1 1.5 off. The cashier said the computer would not allow it because I can’t get money off an item that’s free. I suspect others have had this problem, but other cashiers maneuver around the system. She either wasn’t willing or didn’t know how. As for the penny over on the Garnier, a cashier at a different store adjusted the coupon for 99 cents so I could get it. She explained what she was doing and I was grateful. I think I’ll be going to that store again to see if other cashiers are as friendly, even though it’s a little farther away.

    • Sarah

Spent 15.60 at Walgreens and saved 97.15!!! 4 packages of huggies diapers FREE :):

      4 packages of Huggies

      3 bottles of garnier frutrise

1 package of Walgreens allergy med.

4 packages of Glade Sense and Sensibility

      2 coffee mate creamers

Will get 4.39 on a Walgreens gift card for the Allergy Medicine!

    • allison

Tried to do the Glade ….It only took of for 1. The computer did not take the $4 off the other 2 automatically. Very disappointing.

    • Beth

I have been to every WAG within 20 miles of my home this week. No one has the Sense and Spray or the Lasting Impressions. Is this a monthly or wekly deal? Also, if I get a raincheck, will the $4 store Q still work?
Also, I heard back from WAG corporate on the issue I had the other day with the cashier telling me they could only let people purchase items 1 time per day, and limit all items to 1. Turns out that is not true!! Haha, I knew that. As for the limit thing, the mgr was quite surprised when I went back to the store to talk to him and as we were talking the new WAG radio commercial came on over the loud speaker. At the end of the commercial, the lady says “feel free to clean off our shelves”. The manager stopped mid sentence and said “ma’am go get what you want”. I thought I was going to pee my pants laughing. So if they give you grief about buying several of one item, you might want to tell them you have heard the new commercial!

    • Jennifer

I tried to do the Glade “free + overage” today. I went to every Wags in a 10 mile radius & only 1 store had 2 Sense & Sprays left. The Wags I went to (Nashville area) would NOT allow me to get the overages!! She did the B1G1 coupon for $3.99 (the original amount of the item LESS the $4 coupon) instead of the full $7.99. I was able to get the items for free, but did not get the $8.00 overage as listed. (I did my coupons in this order: Walgreens Q, B1G1, mfg Q. I realize if I would’ve done this differently it would’ve worked better. Oh well.)

Beth, I was able to get a rain check for all items. The coupons expire 3/21, so you should be able to go back this week & get them before the 21st.

Also, in the 2 Sense & Spray boxes I got there were $3/1 coupons.

    • carolin

THIS NEWBIE NEEDS HELP. Jenny thank you so much for this site. I’m single and have recently lost my job. So everyone penny counts. I’ve tried 4 different Walgreens this week to do the Dry Idea deal. It’s on clearance for $2.29 and I have (2) $2 off coupons. I SHOULD get (2) $2RRs. Make a long story short. I use my (2) $2 off coupons and pay cash for the remaining. My RRs don’t print out. I ask the cashier why they didn’t print out. She doesn’t know. I go home and call the Catalina phone number and Carla told me that the RR will not print IF you spend less money on each item then what the RR will be. Since the Dry Idea was 29 cents after the coupon and the RR was $2. You don’t get the RR. I don’t understand. Earlier this week I bought Crest that is on clearance for 95 cents used a 75 cents coupon and got my $1RR. I’m confused. Has this happened to anyone? Like I’ve said I’m new to couponing and thinking about giving up on couponing. So much effort for nothing in return. HELP!!!
