the FB Chicken of the Sea is already gone.

I did not have luck last week with the Gillette deal. I bought $25 dollars worth of qualifying products and used coupons – and they did not give me my $10 RR. I was told that if I used coupons for the products the RR would not print because the manufacturers are getting wise to what people are doing with that. Anyone else have this issue?

      • Joanne

This is how my Walgreens handles things as well. If it says.. SPEND $25 on qualifying products, then it is $25 AFTER coupons.. or you don't get the RR. So, I have stopped doing those types of deals at Walgreens.

        • noella

If you run into those problems it is usually because the staff including managers are uneducated about coupons. At the walgreens we go to we invited the manager out for coffee and discussed how cpns should be used and how and who would reimberse his store back. He was very nice and actually thanked us for educating him and has tried very hard to make his store coupon friendly. Now the tricky part is findind managers like him willing to listen at all walgreens.

      • SavLucEvMommy

        Hi!
I discovered that, when you use a BOGO coupon, the register sort of “throws out” the free item and your RRs will not print out. If you buy very inexpensive filler items to make up for the Free item on a BOGO coupon, then your coupon-to-item ratio will be correct and your RRs should print it out. I tried it and it worked perfectly. For example, if you use a BOGO Gillette Body Wash coupon and get 2 body washes, only 1 of them would count towards your coupon-to-item ratio. Grabbing a small filler item will bring it back into sync. If you use 3 BOGOs, get 3 small filler items. Crazy, but I have a blog and I tried it b/c of all of the probs my readers were having- and it went perfectly. HTH!

    • Erin

There was also a $2 Renu coupon in the 6/6 SS. $2 money maker instead of $1! Yay!

    • Shirley

Could someone look this over and tell me if it would work?

      Buy:
      (1) Gillette Body Wash $4.49
      (1) Gillette Odor Shield deo $4.99
      (4) Old Spice Fresh Collection deo ($4.99 x 4) $19.96
      (1) Old Spice Classic deo $2.99
      Use:
      (1) Free Gillette Body Wash wyb Deodorant
      (1) $2 off Gillette Odor Shield Deodorant
      (2) Free Old Spice Deodorant wyb Body Wash or Deodorant
      Total Due: $15.96
Get back: Get Back: $14.49 RR ($10, $4.49)

Does it look right? Are there other coupons I can use in addition to make this even cheaper? I have lots of B1G1 Old Spice deo Qs that I am trying to use by end of June.
      Thanks and cheers

      • Looks like you should also be able to use (1) -$1/2 Old spice Deodorants PG 6/06

        • Shirley

Oh really? Cool, thanks so much, that would make it better.
          :D Cheers

          • Asmith1

Thanks Shirley for posting this. I did this exact transaction today (at 4 different stores) and it worked like a charm. I would not have put it together on my own. Thanks!!!!

      • M_bruere

there was a q to get the body spray wyb2 old spice body wash.
        my plan is to get
4 of the fresh collection deo $5.49 at my store.
        2 body wash $4.99
        body spray $4.99.
        = $35.93

        – (2) B1G1 free deo
        – (2) buy deo get body wash free
        – buy 2 body wash get body spray free
        = $10.98 get back $10 RR and $4.99 RR

I tried these q’s today and it worked buy no RR printed must be because although it stated on sign it started today it really starts tomorrow. The cashier was very nice though and voided the sale so I will have to try it again tomorrow.

do you see any other q’s to sweeten the deal more?

        • I think the reason it didn’t work is you don’t have $25 pre coupons in deodorants. My understanding is the body wash doesn’t count towards the $10 RR.

          • M_bruere

this deal worked the very next day.
the body wash counts towards the $25. I also used a $1/2 deo which made for a sweet deal. It didnt work on sat because although the sign said starting 6/19 the RR didnt turn on until the 20th… I have already gone in and done this 2 times. Too bad my husbnad is a stickler for the axe deo… I keep telling him I have so much free deo he should at least try another brand before I give it all away.

So total came to $9.98 pre tax and I got back $14.50 I noticed I had the body wash as $4.99 above instead of $4.50. you could get 2 more body wash in this deal if you wanted to use 2 more q’s but it made for a sweeter deal to do this order twice and make more $$$.

          • M_bruere

    • Donella

When are we going to see some good deals on body wash for women again??? My husband is just not that stinky and he's stocked-up well into winter 2011!! :)

      • kd

We have about 25 bottles of body wash for him. I went threw them all this week and we're donating half of it. He's a stinky guy, but not so stinky that we need that much bw for him. :)

    • mcleodsc

I cannot get the whole Rephresh coupon to print. The part with the company address gets left off. Any ideas?

    • Michelle J

Has anyone had luck with using a RR that expired 2 days ago. Ugh! I knew better than to leave with them in hand, unspent that day.

      • ixoye

Most stores will honor them. It always helps to tell them it is expired and ask if they will try it. Nice managers will push them through. The same is true for recently expired manufacturer coupons almost everywhere I go!

      • Angel_in_Charleston

My Wags wouldn't take my RR that expired just the day before. Wish they would be consistent!

      • RUTH

Tonight I used a $2.50 RR that expired on Tues and a $2.50 RR that expired on Wed. No problem. I have done this before without any problems. I try not to let them expire. I have had weeks that I end up with $20 in RR and the next week there is nothing worth spending them on.

    • Rae

My Publix takes RR as man q, so that's solved the problem of expiring RRs! ALso leads to very inexpensive Publix bills.

      • Danielle

Publix on East Brainerd Rd. in Chattanooga, TN won't take RRs. They said it was because it was from a drug store, not a grocery store. I guess ask – some do, some don't!

    • noella

I went to walgreens today and my very nice cosmetic counter girl (who I always go to) was setting up a table with the gillette razors that are 9.89W/5RR and various other gilette products. She then told me that tom (sat) they were having a deal that if you buy the razor you get a gillette tote bag for free. Plus because its on their special she also gets credit. win win all around. Hubby gets razors for cheap,I get RR and tote bags and my fav cashier gets credit. Whoo hoo. I also did nivea deal buying lip balm using cps did 3 deals collected $30 RR bought hubby Norelco cordless razor 59.99 -20 in store discount minus 10cpn from sundays paper minus 30 RR had to have fillers and found 2packs of dial soap for 25 cents so bought 4 paid a dollar plus tax on razor.

      • ALL4KRISTINA

WOW…please share. What Nivea deal? The only one I know of is the 5.99 on body wash.

        • noella

Duh! Sorry I left my brain on hold I meant neutragena. I also did the nivea in a seperate transaction lol.Razor deal was I bought 3 neutragena lip balms @ 2.99 ea =8.97 plus one .25 filler = 9.22 minus 3- $2 cpns (I think those were from 6/6),= 3.22 minus 2.50 RR from last week = .72 plus tax. I did this 3 times in 3 diff transactions.Actually I did one yesterday at a diff walgreens. That is how I ended up with $30 in RR for the razor.

          • Tina

            Gotcha thanks so much

      • sonyapell

Here you get a small bottle of several different colognes. I don't know if they're doing tote bags too, but that is what the display showed when I was there yesterday. :)

    • Angie G

I am kind of new to this, but I don't understand why you need a filler item on Transaction #1 in the scenario. The contact solution is $7.49. With the coupon and RR, you would still pay $1.49. So why a filler item?

      Thanks for the help,
      Angie

      • SS

Walgreens does not permit you use more coupons than number of items. Since a RR counts as a coupon, you wouldn't be able to use a RR and a coupon to “pay” for only one item. In this case, find the least expensive thing you can, or grab something you need anyway. My rule of thumb in a case like this, if I can't find something to use as a filler that costs less than the value of my coupon, I just keep the coupon. No need to buy a 50cent filler item just so I can use a 25cent coupon…

      • Amyhillcpa

The reason is that Walgreens will not accept a register rewards coupon (which is a manufactuer's coupon) and another manufactuer's coupon on just one item, you have to add something small in there as a second item in order to use both coupons.

      • Kristy

Always think of the RR as a MQ. Walgreens will not let you have more coupons than you have items.

    • Kate

Found a possible deal scenario for the gillette/old spice rewards deal. My total comes up to $24.96 on the below purchase, but this is based on their website prices. If their prices are little more in the store then it could get the total to be over $25 to get the $10 RR. I will just check out the store prices to see if this deal is gonna work for me.

      Buy
      (1) Gillette clinical deodorant $9.99
      (3) Gillette bodywash $4.99

      Use:
B1 gillette clinical G1 BW free
      B1 deodorant G1 bw free
      B1 bw G1 bw
      $2 coupon on gillette clinical

      Total Due: $7.99
      Get Back: $10 RR
Again, I wanted to stress that my total was 4¢ under $25, which drives me crazy. Hopefully prices at the store will be different.

Here is my list if the whole gillette deal doesn't work out.

      Buy:
      (2) Glade Plugins Scented Oil Refill 2 pk.$3
      (2) Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner 16 oz. B1G1 at $2.99

      Use:
$2 on any one glade plugins twin refill or two single refills (found this coupon in a plugins refill I had bought this week. I bought 4 refills this week, but only one coupon found. you may want to check your refills boxes to see if it may have coupon inside)
$1 coupon on any two glade relaxing moments products, which includes the oil refills
      (2) -.50/1 Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaners printable

      Total Due:$4.99
      Get Back:$1RR

      • Kate

Forgot about the $4.49 RR I will get also.

      • ian

The bodywash is not included in the 10/25 this week so that won't work according to the ad. Still might end up working though.

    • Shelly

My Walgreens will not let me use RR and a coupon together to buy something. They said it counts as two Maufact. Coupons so they won't let you combine them. Really limits the deals. I like CVS a lot better. They let me combine them.

That is correct. If you have 2 coupons and buy 2 items and still want to use a RR, you can't do so unless you buy another item, even if it's a very small one.

        • Jackie

That's right just use a small filler item. My cashier at Walgreens is really in to couponing herself and she now knows the lingo, she even told me to grab a filler item like the butterfingers that were on sale for 33 cents. I like Walgreens because you can go several times during the week and they don't track you with a card. So if it is a money maker you can make several separate transactions.

          • Jamie

33 cents on butterfinger is great! And remember, if you don't want to take the candy home (might eat it!), see if they have a program for, like, the local kids' group home, where they donate. Ours does, so I'd be able to give them the butterfinger via Wags.

            • Jamie

PS I'd still like to know about the RRs. Are you able to use two RRs now in one transaction?

            • Deshaine

Yes… you can use 2 RR in one transaction, you just HAVE TO MAKE SURE you have enough items to equal the total number of RR + MQ. SO…

1 really expensive item – 2 RR = no go.

1 really expensive item + 1 filler cheap item – RR = GO!!!

              HTH!!

      • Genkijules

I had this same problem last week, except that was one of three excuses they gave why they couldn't accept my 2 RR and 3 coupons for 6 items. I have NEVER had this problem at CVS, where they actually try to help me get the most for my money. I will probably not be shopping at Walgreens anymore just to avoid the confrontation and trouble.

      • armywife74

This is when you would buy a filler item, something less then 50 cents that you don't have a coupon for to hold the spot for the second coupon, ie register rewards. Jenny sometimes post fillers. This past week a good one was salt for 50 cents with in ad coupon or the nestle for 39 cents. In ad, or store coupons don't count toward your coupon total. You can not have more manufacture coupons then products purchased.

    • RobinB78

I don't normally go to Walgreens, but the Gillette/ Old Spice deals are hard to resist as my hubby goes through them like CRAZY!

Seems to me that I should be able to buy 6 Gillette Body washes, use 3 B1G1 q's. For a total of $13,47 oop, getting back $14.49 RR. Yes??

      • Guest

No. Only one RR will print per transaction.

        • Michelle J

Yep, you have to do seperate transactions.

          • RobinB78

I don't understand why… Jenny has a similar deal, only it's 3 deodorants and 3 body washes- so how would it be any different with just 6 bodywashes?? Besides being less out of pocket.

            • sonyapell

I believe Jenny's deal above is for the $10 in RR when you purchase $25.

            • RobinB78

So is this… 6 body washes at $4.49 each is $26.94.

            • armywife74

the body washes are there own deal of 4.49 and the deodorant and shave prep *blades, gels, and such are a different deal, the buy 25 get 10 deal *no wash in the 10 back on 25 deal from the way I seen the ad. HTH

      • Rpofan

Yes, you are right! You'll get a $4.49 for one body wash and $10 for the $25 P&G purchase. I just might do the same!

        • Rpofan

Sorry, scratch that! I don’t see bodywash qualifying in the $10 RR deal. Would have been a great deal though.

I am ready for women's razors to be on sale somewhere. I've got enough men's razors for an army!

      • Candace

I have found that men's razors work way better for me than women's razors. I will never buy another woman's razor again.

        • Michelle J

Funny, my husband likes MY razor better than his and we both use Gillette.

          • sonyapell

This is the case in my house too. :) My husband loves my venus, and I'm digging the hydro big time.

            • sdshaw

We just buy whatever razors are on sale and then we both use what we have multiples of and cartridges for. Hopefully when cartridges go on sale we will have whatever razor they go with.

        • kcreviews

I have tried the Mach 3 and Gillette Fusion and I still like my Venus Breeze way better.

          • Kristy

I agree, The men razor deals have far beat the womens. BUT last week I broke down and got a venus breeze (my favorite too( @ CVS. The sale price was $8.99 had a $2 off q & recieved $4 in ECB so I guess it wasn't too bad!

        • Davahodges

me too. It doesn't pay to be picky

      • Tracy

Kroger has the Bic Soleil razors on sale though tomorrow for $3.99 with a printable coupon from a few weeks back that expires 7/11 for $2.00, it would make that pack of 4 only $1.99

        • kcreviews

Thank you, but I don't have a Kroger and I don't like the Bic Soleil. Maybe someone else will benefit from the heads-up, though!

          • Ebunne63

ijust used 2 off coupons with rain check for bic hydrid in stead of soteil.. cost 1.49.

      • SarahTakesPics

I used my $2 off Venus coupons at Target, because Target had buy 2 Venus razers get a $5 Target gift card. Hope that helps! It wasn't the best deal ever, but I really needed some razers! :)

    • Stephanie P.

Kind of new to Walgreen sales, but do you have to buy $25 worth of products AFTER coupons or before for the $10 RR wyb $25 worth of Old Spice and Gillette Products?

      • Struckdeals

Always before, so you can bring the total down to like $12ish or so and then get the $10RR.

        • Stephanie P.

          Thanks!

    • Shirley

For the Bauch & Lomb Renu Contact Solution, I notice that the ad states '12oz, sensitive', does that mean that only the sensitive solution is available for the RRs, and not the fresh solution? Anyone can confirm that? Thanks and cheers

      • Shirley

BTW, if you go to Renu dot com, click on the coupon tab and you can get a $2 off coupon for the Bauch & Lomb Renu Contact Solution.

        Cheers

      • KB Ribelin

There is a 2$ coupon off the bauch and lomb solution in the safeway june booklet.

    • Stephanie C

Couldn't you use the Gillette Fusion Razor in the Buy $25 Get $10 deal and get the $10 and the $5 RR? And with the body wash wouldn't the $4.49 print also?

    • rosewood4

just to let everyone know, I made a free fathers day photo collage and today in the mail I got a $5 off $20 purchase and a few other coupons so keep your eyes open. :)

    • Nllohmeier

When the cashier tells you that your coupon or RR won't scan ask him/her to push “subtotal” and scan it again. This usually works. I learned this from a friendly cashier. But you guys are right, CVS cashiers try to help and are excited for you when you save, Walgreen's cashiers act as if you are stealing!

      • Sybil Nelson

Thanks, I'll try that. I have problems with Walgreens.

    • ScottK

Question: I have seen before people talking about Publix taking register rewards from Walgreens. Do they all do this or the ones who do, why do they? Just because it's competitors? Would they then take extra bucks? I'd love to move grocery shopping to Publix for this and even start using walgreens again just to get deals where I pay less than the RR I get and in turn save more money when getting groceries at Publix!

      • Amber

It truly depends on the store's mgmt. My Publix in Georgia is located directly across the street from a WAGS and a Rite Aid, yet they refuse to accept either. They will accept Target and other competitive grocery store coupons, however. You have to ask your particular store's mgmt.

      • Pjcoupon

It does just depend on the store. I spent about 10 min on the phone with my local Publix manager, he said he will take anything, he said they used to not because it really isn't a competitor, but he said it is easier for him to take them then to not take them. I would suggest talking to the store manager not a cashier or supervisor because they don't really know anything.

      • Esmelda

Most of ours do here in Gainesville, FL. If they scan it, it will usually go through, since RRs are manufacturer's coupons. That way it doesn't really have to be treated as a competitor coupon. I'll usually let the cashier know that it's a manufacturer's coupon, otherwise it ends up in the competitor pile, for which they don't get reimbursed. One side note: They'll just take one per transaction.
The one where I shop the most (Haile) doesn't take ECBs from CVS.

      • Asmith1

It really does depend. I use RR at my Publix every week without a sinle problem. I used over $100 just today. They scan just fine.

        • Littlepanchuk

My Publix accepts RR because they are manufacterer's coupons. They will not take extra bucks because they are store coupons, and Publix does not consider CVS to be a competitor. But ever Publix has the right to decide which coupons to accept.

        • ScottK

So you spent over $100 in RR and did that include multiples of RR earned on the same item just from different transactions? If this all comes out like I think, I'll def be doing grocery shopping at Publix and start Walgreens'ing again! Fantastic!

          • Asmith1

Yes, I typically do my Walgreens shopping first. I have 4 Walgreens within a 10 mile radius of my house. So I make a big circle of Walgreens. I only do 2 transactions of the RR products at each store so that I don't clear the shelves. Then I take the RR I got and do my grocery shopping at Publix. It works out great.

            • ScottK

That sounds fantastic! This is so exciting! I normally have had a hard time translating my huge drug store savings into savings at the grocery store, but this should make a huge difference!

      • SweetDenia

My Publix is great about taking ECBs and RRs, as well as Rite Aid coupons, but they'll only take up to $5 per transaction, and only one coupon per transaction. I make it a point to have a Rite Aid coupon with me every time I shop. Just ask your manager what their policy is. :-)

    • Teresa

I have trouble with Walgreens every time I go in there. I would just rather shop with CVS or Rite-Aid. It's like they try to give you a hard time. Just not worth it!

      • Sybil Nelson

Me too. It's like they never let me use the coupons if my total gets below a certain value. I have $5 there from last week so I'll give them one more try, but if they annoy me again, I'm just sticking with CVS.

        • Jamie

They told me something like – I have to have at least 59 cents BEFORE taxes after RRs before it will allow me to use it. So, I figure if my transaction goes just a bit over by a few cents, I can add a 50 cent item, like 50 toilet paper or tuna or whatever. Basically, I'm paying for that sale item plus the tax, which I figure I do at least owe the government tax! :-)

    • Lindsey

I know you can go to CVS around 1:00 or 2:00 on Saturday and get both Saturday and Sunday deals. Is it possible to do the same thing at Walgreens? If so, what time do their Sunday deals start?

      • Praysheree

yes it is the same except rr are not available until sat at midnight.

      • Chrisandjolind

I tried doing that one time and went at 11:30 PM for the old ad and was going to wait until after 12 to do the Sunday new ad. At my store in AL, the RRs aren't finished downloading until 6 AM, so I had to get transaction voided and go back later in the morning. They weren't sure until after I had done it though. Thought it would help too – to just go once for 2 weeks! Maybe your store will be different though.

    • Debnsc1971

Has anyone in the Lexington, SC area tried to use Register Rewards at Publix? I just spoke with a manager and she said they do not accept them. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck. If so, which one in the area accepts them?

      • Hailey

I've used them at the Harbison and Kennerly locations. HTH.

      • Littlepanchuk

They always take them at the Publix on Broad River Rd, but not at the Publix in downtown Columbia.

      • ssh

I've used them at that Publix before, but that was a couple months ago, so I guess the policy has changed? It may depend on which manager is on duty.

      • melissa

My publix in GA takes them, but mine always print out “manufacturer coupon” at top next to expiration date.

    • Jackie

What do you use for a 10cent filler item? I always end up getting candy that is on sale. I have never seen anything for ten cents.

      • Juli

I am the same way and i so don't need candy. I have purchased the toliet paper before that is like 2/1.00?? Not sure if they have that deal this week or not.

      • Ginaod2000

        Was wondering that myself :0)

      • CP

A few weeks ago my store had plastic kids cups in the 'seasonal' area for 17 cents. The last thing we need in this house is ANOTHER plastic kiddie cup, so I took them to the local children's shelter when I ran my other donations. Just a thought.

        • sonyapell

I would LOVE to grab some of those. lol! We've got 5 kids 9 through 8 months, and our kiddie cups look terrible. I'll have to stalk the seasonal aisle more often, as that's something I never thought about before!

    • Jamie

I'm a little confused on the Gillette deal… Don't they only accept one RR at a time?

      • Jude

They accept one RR per item. Therefore if you have two items you can use two RR as long as the RR do not exceed the before tax total

    • Getdkay

I work for the company that everyone seems to be having the coupon problems with and I'd like to say sorry for you troubles, I know at my store we do have alot of people that try to use fake and expired coupons and this does pose a problem, but over all we know that people are just trying to save money. We have learned a lot about smart shopping from some of our customers, it has also helped our cashiers understand that it's not stealing and we a have all started using coupons. If your willing to try(and I know you shouldn't have to) give the cashier some tips on using coupons, and also try checking out in photo or cosmetics when the front register is busy, their lines don't usually get backed up. I think alot of times the front cashier just gets overwelmed. I hope this helps. If not move to Alabama our store will be glad to take care of you.

      • Littlepanchuk

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. I know many of us have had a hard time with cashiers saying that we are stealing even when we are using coupons properly, so it is nice to know that the stores are working to improve.

      • Juli

I have never had a problem. I like Walgreens alot. The cashiers and managers are super nice. I go to 2 different ones located in Gainesville, GA. Several cashiers have asked for the Southen Savers website. I just wished they would stock up a little better!!!! Overall I love Walgreens and will definetly go back!!

      • RUTH

Oh, that is so nice. I also like Walgreen's and I have made friends with several of the cashiers. I give tips to them on how to use coupons, and I show them deals that I get so they can try and do the same for themselves. I have not met one yet who will not work with me to get the best deals.

      • Steph in Bham

        Wherevin AL are you?

      • sonyapell

I'd like to know where you are too. :) I'm in Albertville, and for the most part, love my Wags employees.

    • artmommy222

Anyone know of a good deal on children's Spinbrushes (any brand) either this week or coming up soon? We need a new one!

      • Ginaod2000

Yes at Rite Aid…Sale starting 6-20…Orajel Toddler or Baby Oral Care Products or Arm & Hammer Kid’s Spinbrush B1G1
Than there was a $1.00 off coupon in the sunday paper 6/06…Hope this helps

        • artmommy222

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately, we do not have a Rite Aid.

    • Hingleytrio

I have a question about RR at Walgreens. For the “$10 RR wyb $25 worth of Old Spice and Gillette Products” deal, can you reach $25 before your coupons to earn the RR, or does your grand total have to be $25 after all BOGO coupons to receive the RR. Thanks!!!

      • Sean

        Before coupons

      • Rebecca

My experience last week … I was told by the manager that it has to total $25 AFTER you've used your coupons. So, you have to come OOP $25… which doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's what I was told.

        • Asmith1

I did this deal 4 times today at 4 different stores and used 5 coupons each time. My total was just over $25 BEFORE coupons, just unders $15 after coupons and I received $4.50 and $10 RR from the Gillette body wash and deordorant. Worked like a charm each time.

      • Frugal-J

        That's before coupons.

      • nurseteri

I tried this today and the reward did not print. The cashier told me it had to be $25 after coupons. I have never had that problem before. I just got a refund and used my coupons a different way. Sure they were glad to see me leave!

    • Russ

I purchased the REnu and $25 worth of Gillettt and didnt get a RR for either…I got $5 for the proglide razor but that was it.

    • Kc131391

I went to wags for the first time today. I have been cvsing & rite aid for 2 years. I can honestly say I am not happy. I even called corp. about the coupon policy. I was told by them & the cashier that if I use a BOGO Q that I can not use a $ off Q on the 1st item. I even explained it like Jenny did in her seminar.

      • melissa

I got so upset with them I called and emailed. I finally (3 months later!) got a written response with their “unofficial” coupon policy. They basically said that they do not have an official coupon policy but sent me a full page sheet with their rules. If you’d like to see, I can email to you. Not sure how to post it here. Just email me at chiefsangeleyes@yahoo.com and i’ll send it :)

        • ireneY

They took 3 months to make up the “unofficial” coupon policy just to send to you! LOL!!

    • judebluiz

I have a question. First of all though, I want to thank Jenny for all of her hard work and time- I love this site and have saved so much money because of your invaluable advice. My ? is are you able to use RR's from Gillette products as shown in the above scenarios to purchase Tide and Aussie items when they have the same parent company- P&G? Would this prevent the RR from printing?

      • Alewis939

You can't use a P&G RR and get a P&G RR to print. So to answer your question- yes it will stop the RR from printing. Hope this helps. :0)

      • Rpofan

Do not use a RR from a P&G product to buy another product from P&G that has a RR deal. You typically will not get the RR from that purchase. That goes for all companies I believe.

    • Cindy

Went to my local Walgreens…not a great experience AGAIN! I purchased the ProGlide and a Norelco Nivea Razor in the same purchase. Used my coupons and a $5 RR from last week. It did not print the RR for the ProGlide. Management explained that “If you use a RR for a purchase, it will not print out a new RR even though you purchase a qualifying product”. How is this possible? We should be able to roll RRs, and I have in another store just a few weeks ago (but it is about 30 miles away from home). Any suggestions? There is nothing on the RR that says you will not get RR if used to make a purchase…even the Manager said it didn't make sense, but that there was nothing she could do about it. Am I doing something wrong???

      • San

If you use a Gillette RR to buy a Gillette brand product, the RR will not print.

      • Frugal-J

If you tried to use the RR to buy the same product you received the RR for it will not print. Happened once to me, I learned my lesson well and it will not repeat. Good luck.

      • Trevajill

The way I understand it you can not buy something from the same company or the same product as the register rewards. If you buy a Gillette razor and get RR you can't buy another Gillette razor. It is pretty easy when you get use to it.

      • Praysheree

sorry you had such a bad experiencebut i have a question did you purchase both items on same transaction? If so know the soulition as we had the same problem last night at my store [WORK AT WALGREENS]. this is what we discovered for some reason because they are vboth razors our system only printed 1 rr so we just rerang 1 seperately and it worked.hope this helps..

      • artmommy222

That is annoying. We have 4 Walgreens in our area, and one of them has this same stupid 'rule'. I avoid that one! It is also possible that your previous RR was from the same manufacturer, and that's why it wouldn't reprint a new RR from your ProGlide.

        • Cindy

You would think that they would want you to buy more of their products, but I'll be sure to look more closely next time. Thanks everyone!

      • Alewis939

I hope this will help- you have to look at the manufacturer that is listed on the RR that you are going to spend. For example: if the RR says that it's from “Johnson and Johnson” then you can't use it on ANY Johnson and Johnson product and expect to get another reward. However, if you use a “Johnson and Johnson” RR to buy a Schickk product then the the Schickk RR will print. I know it sounds confusing, but you just have to have a good knowledge of who it is that is manufacturing the products you are purchasing. :0) Takes a lot of “think time” but it's worth it in the end. Hope this helps.

        • Cindy

It may have been the same manufacturer, I'm not sure now. I also had a problem with getting 2 RR in one transaction for different manufacturers. The Assistant Manager refunded my money for Nivea Body wash and ran it in a different transaction and it worked. She was begging me to call corporate and complain since she has to deal with angry customers every time it doesn't work. I'll be sure to check the manus next time and I'll let her know to check that first next time. Thanks to everyone for the help and guidance. I'm still new to this wonderful world of Southern Savers!

    • Mcheronecook

I also have issues with the Walgreens RR. If you use any coupons (RR or Manufaturers) the register will not print out the RR you are supposed to get. Will not shop there for freebies because they are not free.

      • Praysheree

THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR RR IS IF YOU TRY TO USE THE SAME TYPE OF RR .FROM SAME PRODUCT. ALSO USE MAUF COUPON FIRST THEN RR .MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 1 COUPON FOR EVERY ITEM OR WONT LET YOU USE BOTH.I WORK FOR WALGREENS AND HELP MY GUESTS WITH THIS EVERYDAY ,HOPE THIS HELPS.

        • melissa

I have had this problem too, but since my RR print out saying “manufacturer coupon” on top, I use them at publix or kroger when I do my other shopping with no problem. ::)

        • Mcheronecook

          Thanks. I'll try again.

    • Supermombeaufort

I went on a test mission to Wags this morning. I wanted to purchase the contact solution and had a $4 off coupon (included in a previous box I think) but was not sure the register reward would print because a manager had told me that was the case. Well, I used the coupon and the RR printed. I made careful sure I purchased the exact solution that was pictured in the weekly ad and that was sensitive formula. I think when we get the wrong item or there is a technical problem (like the RR and the coupon are the same amount) it doesn't print and the managers assume it is that you can't use coupons and get RRs, but this does not seem to be the case in Beaufort, SC.

    • Pamela

I got a $1 RR when I bought the Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner 16 oz. B1G1 at $2.99. Makes it 50 cents ea.

      • Kat15

        also just found a $1/2 q in either the 6/6 or 6/13 flyers…

    • DianaY19

What can you buy for 10 cent…or even 51 cent.

      • Melissa K

Found a travel size bottle of conditioner for 10 cents in the clearance section.

      • Stephanie

sometimes they will have seasonal pencils or seed packets. that type of thing.

        • melissa

My WAG had caramels on counter 3/99 cents :)

    • Beth

Just visited Walgreens in Spartanburg for the Gillette deal and the very nice manager informed me that since I had manufacturer coupons that my RR may or may not print. He says this is common and they get lots of complaints. In the end, we tried it and they did print but the manager and cashier didn't seem to be too concerned with the fact that I am less inclined to shop at Walgreens if this is going to be a challenge when I know that coupons are never a problem at CVS (I told them this). I've only tried RR at Walgreens twice and have not had the most pleasant experience either time. Even though it worked, it was a real headache trying to explain why this should be cut and dry when they didn't agree! Anyone else experiencing this problem? Perhaps it is limited to the Spartanburg store?

      • Stephanielmoore

You cannot pay for a transaction with a register reward from a particular manufacturer and get another RR back from the same Mfr. other than that, i have not had any trouble with them printing out. you just have to make sure it is the exact right item.

    • melissa

So I just did the Old Spice Body wash scenario. Bought two body washes, one body spray.
      Used
      (1) bogo free body wash
      (1) B2 body wash, G1 body spray free
      (1) $1.50 Off any old spice body wash (manu coupon, from kroger home mailer)
After RR and coupons, I made $1.50. :)

    • Luv01maro

Can I use a RR and a manufacturer coupon on the same item?

      • stephanie

Yes, but the RR counts as a manufacturers coupon. You cannot have more manufacturers coupons in your transaction than items. So that is why you see “filler items” mentioned. If all you are buying is one item and you want to use a $ off mfr coupon and pay with a RR, you must have a small filler item like a 10 cent pencil.

        • Luv01maro

Thank you so much! This makes so much more sense now!

        • Michelle

What about on this simple transaction: buy 2 old spice body wash, use b1g1 Q. Now, it's my experience that this is ONE coupon for ONE item so I can use the RR on the other. I've not yet done the RR at Walgreens, always done CVS. Will this work or do I need a filler item? (this would be my 2nd transaction I've got line up, thus the reason I would have RR).

        • ireneY

Ah, a 10 cent pencil — good filler! Thx!

    • meg

anybody else having trouble printing the lysol coupon? It keeps telling me my computer doesn't support the printing even though I am using the correct browsers (I tried it in firefox, IE, and Chrome), and am having the same problem on my husband's computer!

      • melissa

Yes. I had to go out of that site. google search for lysol coupons and it's takes you to a lysol site. Click “promotions” and go from there :) same coupons, but it lets you print.

    • I T Mavin

I'm new to this and have 1 question. Please someone who knows share with me.

Transaction #3- can you use the -$2Q AND Free Body Wash wyb Deodorant?

Doesn't that count as using 2 manufacturer coupons?

    • WynetteC

Just a heads up on the RENU contact solution, the register rewards did not print out for me when I purchased the correct size container with the “fresh” description on the box (blue color). The manager refunded my transaction and we tried the RENU “Sensitive” (aquamarine color box) like what they have posted in the Walgreens flyer and that is the one that gave register rewards.

      • Kaminer317

same thing happened to me (the regular kind did not give a RR and did not ring up on sale). funny thing is, they had the RR tags on the regular boxes, not on the sensitive boxes. i told them they needed to switch the tags around so it didn't happen to someone else. :(

        • cardewallen

I bought the Sensitive kind and it didn't print. They told me that they knew it wasn't working and it should be fixed later in the week. They told me I could either wait 6-8 wks for them to mail me a RR or they could call me to come in later in the week when it was fixed and they'd give me RR then.

      • Aida

At my walgreens they had a B1G1 sensitive and it did not print the RR.

    • Taimie

for transacation 3 can you use the old spice coupon for buy one old spice deodorants and get a free OS body wash, can you get gillette Deodorants and oldspice bw? or does it all have to be oldspice?

    • Taimie

sorry, another quick question, can you use 2 b1g1 free coupons for the 2 same products? I have a few b1g1 old spice body wash or Deodorants and get free one old spice body wash or deodorant free. can I buy 2 deodorants and get them both free? thank you for your help. I just started about 2 weeks ago and still learning. THank You all so much. I LOVE this site

      • melissa

I have done that before yes. Because each “free” counts toward one item. if you have the BOGO free body wash coupons, try this…it worked great for me.
buy 2 old spice body washes, one old spice body spray
Use (1) b1g1 free wash coupons
Use (1) b2 wash g1 body spray free
all free. I did have another item in there, the lysol toilet bowl cleaners, to help as my store likes to not do all free items, as it messes their machine up calculating the tax. LOL
You get $4.50 RR back, and after 2 coupons it's all free. (I made $1.50, cuz I had a manu coupon from kroger home mailer that I applied toward one wash.)

      • Lucy2778

No, you would have to buy 4 deodorants to get 2 free

    • Gjh Coupons

Let me know if this works for you and tell me what Walgreens you go to. Thanks.

      Transaction #3
      Buy:

      (3) Gillette Body Washes $4.49

      (3) -$2 off Gillette Clinical PG 6/06
      (3) Free Body Wash wyb Deodorant PG 6/06

    • CJ

My Harris Teeter will not let me use a Walgreens RR there.

    • Susan, TN

I did the following transaction at 2 different Walgreens and has no problems:

      (2) Old Spice Body Washes
      (1) Old Spice Body Spray
      Used:
      (1) B1G1 free BW
      (1) Free body spray when you buy BW
      (2) 1.00 Body wash coupons from P&G savings book

I did this without a hitch. Other than one cranky lady at a particular store, I have always had a good experience at Walgreens…

    • Reymannkids

    • Adela

I read often that certain areas of the country does not get the paper with the SS and RP inserts. I have quite a few extra, so let me know if you need them, I would only charge you the $1.00 I paid for it, and actual cost to mail-media mail or however you want me to ship it to you.. I also have a booklet from huggies diapers filled with $ off coupons for diapers. I have no use for them, no babies in my house, it expires 6/30/10 so if you need them please let me know soon. Hope this helps those that have to travel long distances to get the paper, or have to do without it. Email me if you are interested at ptogroup@hotmail.com. Thanks

    • BJ31

Dean's dip coupon is on a 12oz or larger and Walgreens Dean's dip on sale is 8 oz. So the coupon doesn't work ;-(

    • Tobys_Mom

I think this was my best Walgreens trip ever! I got over $63.00 worth of products for $19.00 OOP with $39 RR back!! So I made $20.00!!! Walgreens is always frustrating for me and takes lots of planning but when it works out right, its great!!

    • Shandrikaj

Can you please give the details on this? Awesome job!!

      • Deshaine

        Details on what, exactly?

    • Shandrikaj

It should have went below the Tobys_Mom post-sorry!

    • KristiR

Just an FYI – The Zegerid OTC that is on sale is a 28 ct. The MIR in my SS is for a 14 ct. only.

    • Kay

Best Walgreens trip ever!!! I got: 6 Old Spice body washes, 3 boxes of Replenish tampons, 2 bottles of ReNu contact solution, 2 Lysol toilet bowl cleaners, 1 clearance emery boards, 3 cans of tuna, 3 cans of tomato sauce, a box of Splenda and a box of Raisinets. My total OOP was—-drumroll—I made $.94!!! Don't you wish we got buy everything at Walgreens!

      • Cmt261

        i thought i was good….Congratulations!

    • Caroline

just curious, if the RR used in transaction #4 are from Gillette, isn't that P&G, and won't it stop the Tide $1 RR from printing?

I had a $2 P&G RR, and was proud of myself for remembering not to use it on another P&G product. It's so easy to get mixed up when it's time to pay. I liked the idea of cashing in the RR to get Tide, so I used Jenny's idea. I do still have the $2 P&G RR, plus the new $1 P&G RR from the Tide, but that's okay!

    • Loglo29

Went to Walgreens yesterday…bought the old spice and got the rr then bought the can drinks they had on sale 4/$14 used my rr for it ..no problem but got no rr for it..The cashier said if you use rr for a trans you will not get rr back even if it a diff product!!!! :(

      • Gjh Coupons

I use RR all the time to purchase items that generate an RR. Sometimes I have several items I am purchasing in one trip and purchase each with the RR generated from the previous purchase. (I always go the the cosmetic counter.) As long as the RR is not for the same manufacturer such as P&G for the product you are buying you should not had a problem. I have scored lots of free merchandise on one initial investment. I would talk to the store manager about it.

      • Jvmay1703

I used one today to pay for the Renu contact solution. I had a 6 dollar RR from something else and it worked like a charm. I am now writing what I purchase on the RR so the next time I go back I know what I bought it for so I don't try to use it for the same manufacuturer.

    • Jaima26

What about Advil? I had a store coupon for -$4 off and a manufacturers coupon for -$1…both were in this Sundays paper. DId anyone else see that??

    • Dawnj

I am still trying to figue RR out! Can someone tell me if this transaction would work….?
      Gillette Body Wash $4.49
      Herbal Ess. Shampoo 2.99
Use $7.50 RR that I got from Renu deal to pay. I may have a coupon for the Gillette, so I would need to add something else. I just wanted to know if the RR would print for the Gillette and Shampoo if I pay with the RR from the Renu. Thanks

      • Cmt261

it should work since Renu was from a different manufacturer

    • M_bruere

      Old Spice money maker deal!!!

I posted this a few days ago but its very far down now. I wanted to let everyone know this deal worked and was a money maker. I have done it twice now with no beeping. the body spray is included in the buy $25 get $10RR deal. Combine this with the body wash RR and its a money maker.

      Buy
4 of the old spice fresh collection deo $5.49 at my store.
2 old spice body wash $4.49
1 old spice body spray $4.99.
      = $35.93

      use these coupons.
      – buy 2 body wash get body spray free
      – (2) buy deo get body wash free
      – (2) B1G1 free deo (I had 2 versions of this coupon which will work. buy fresh collection get fresh collection free very self explanatory and one that is a buy any body wash or deo and get fresh collection free of equal or lesser value. this is why i put these last I wanted to make sure I used this one the more expensive deo not the body wash)
      – $1/2 deo
      = $9.98 get back $10 RR and $4.49 RR

I have done this deal. it worked no problems and what a great profit. you could add 2 more body wash free but I did those in the second deal so I could profit more. the best part is no one seems to be buying the old spice so I had no issues with the store being out of stock of anything.

      good luck.

      • smaks

What order did you give them your coupons?

        • M_bruere

i am pretty sure i did it in the order I typed up. my sisters store wouldnt even scan her coupons so it may depend on your store. also her store the fresh collection was only $4.99 so we decided it should work with 2 body sprays and add the buy 1 body spray get 1 free coupon. with the lower price deo it is even a sweeter deal at $8.89 oop.

      • cheryl

They didn't give us the $10 back b/c they said it didn't add up to $25 after we used the coupons. :(

        • M_bruere

was your deo $5.49 or $4.99? my sisters store seems to run about 50cent cheaper then mine and she would have had to add an extra body wash to make it work. then add the buy 1 body wash get 1 free coupon.

          • M_Bruere

sorry I meant another body spray and a coupon for buy 1 body spray get 1 free…

        • Kkbrobst

It's suposed to be $25 BEFORE Q's. Gee Walgreens is getting nasty.

      • pat

I tryed this trans last night. Would not give me the ten dollars because the spray was free. I returned everything and thought I would try again today.

Old Spice Money Maker Deal…I have a questions???

I am so new to this I am so confused but really want to do the Old Spice Deal.

These are the coupons I will be using and the products I will end up with…do I have this correct?

(1Q) Buy 2 Body Wash or Deo get 1 Body Spray Free
(2Q) Buy 1 Deo get 1 Body Wash Free
(2Q) Buy 1 Deo get 1 Deo Free
(1Q) Buy 2 Deo or Body Wash get $1 off

If I understand your coupons correctly I would end up with
        3 Body Washes
        1 Body Spray
5 Deo (I picked deo bc I need more of them)

Thanks so much for your help here.

      • Charo

I just figured out what you were doing…yeah…how in this world did you ever come up with that transaction??? Now looking forward to going to Walgreens :)

        • M_bruere

I had skipped a bunch of the gillette/old spice deals. (my cvs was alrways out of it so I have tons of rain checks… ) I sat with all my coupons out and just keept adding them up. i thought at first i was crazy and it wouldnt work then I just went to walgreens and tried. I had seen other posters do similar deals at cvs the week before so i thought why not…

When it worked I just had to share. I was so excited to use up all those coupons. My sister however was not so lucky her store gave her lots of attitude and wouldnt even try to scan her coupons. I hope other people had better luck and were able to grab this deal too.

    • Guest

Am new to this..Would this work for the 10.00 and 4.49?? buy: 2 gillette clinical deodorant, 4 gillette body washes and 1 filler. Use 2-2.00 off deodorant. 2-free body wash when u buy deodorant. 1-buy one body wash get one free. Thanks

    • Kat

My Dad has a Walgreens coupon for i-Caps (I don't usually shop @ Walgreens) and I found a manufacturer coupon also. Can you use both? I've forgotten the numbers to look at to make sure the Walgreens one is not a manufacturer coupn. Thanks.

      • San

For manufacturer's coupon the numbers are 5 and 9. You can use a manufacturer's coupon and a store coupon together on a product. Just make sure the Walgreens coupon is not a manufacturer's coupon.

    • Calliemae24

Can someone explain to me what a manager at Walgreens called “coupon looping”.
      This is what happened……..
In the first transaction, I bought a contact solution and receiveda $7.49RR. In the next transaction I bought another contact solution along with baby formula, body wash, and a shampoo; I used numerous coupons including the previous $7.49RR. It did not print my second $7.49RR and the manager said it was because the computer recognized the RR I used from the first contact solution and would NOT print another because it was considered “looping”. This is the first I have heard of this and she then said, most “coupon websites” explain the Walgreens Register Rewards and the “looping” process. When I asked to see the proof in the store, amazingly enough she could not find it…..
      Can someone help me?

      • Ginnywade

You need to read the Guide to Walgreens under the Getting started Guides tab. That should explains things. Hope that helps

      • Flutterby

You used the RR from the contact solution in the same transaction that you bought another solution. You can't turn around and use the RR on the same product….that is looping. You could have used RR from another product such as Cokes or something else.

      • sonyapell

That's the only way they really have to enforce limits on their sales. When it says that there is a limit of 1, and you try to use the RR from that transaction to pay for the same item, it won't print. The register recognizes that you've already gotten that deal. Most of the time I've seen it referred to as rolling though, not looping.

      • emily

that's exactly what happened to me!!! i shouldve read walgreen guide before i tried my 1st walgreens purchase.

        question.

maybe this is coupon-illegal or coupon-impolite, but let me know your thoughts…

i have 2 walgreens close together. could i technically buy the contact solution at 1 walgreens, get RR, go to the other, use the 1st store's RR for contact solution on another contact solution & it print off more RRs since the RRs are not from the same store…? & then vice versa? sorry… that may be against coupon-etiquette (if it works) but my hubby and i are in dire need of contact solution!!!

        thanks for your help!!

        • Cmt261

it has nothing to do with the store, its the manufaturer, you cant use a RR to buy the same manufaturere's products

      • Guest

If you read the Walgreens Ad for the week it probably states the number of RR you are allowed to get for a certain item. I believe for the contact solution it was 1 therefore since you got the RR the first time through you couldn't get them the second time…Here is another option..

Get the Renu and get 750RR back

        Get Herbal Essence Shampoo (2.99)
        Gillete BW (4.49)
Filler (Candy is on sale for .49)

You will get back 4.50RR for BW and 2.00RR for shampoo! Then turn around and buy the Solution again with those RR!! That is the only way it will work…you can't do back to back solution or you won't get RR!! =) Hope this helps!

    • K.

wonderful blessd trip today! here it goes motion hair spray x 2, motion oil mosturizer, gillete series shave cream 2.5oz x2, old spice fresh deodorant x 3, old spice body spray x2, old spice body wash x 1 = about 44 dollars—– used 2 $1 off shave cream, bogo bw/free deodorant, bogo deodorant, buy 2 os get body spray x2, 2 (ten dollars) rrs— total oop $0.86!!!! and got back rr= 10(old spice), 4.50(body wash), 5 (motion hair products)= 19.50 back!!! i was really excited!

    • Kkbrobst

GRRRRRRRRRR! I went to walgreens and I had the print out of the 4 scenerios. I did the first 2 transactions fine. had the Q's and then on the 2nd transaction I had the RR and a Q but then on transaction # 3 the girl said I could only use the Q's OR the RR cuz the register will only take 1 Q per item and the RR are considered mufaq Q's. We tried it 2 different ways. We did the 6 gilet Q's first and then the RR's and it woudl not take any RR's So then the Q's were voided out (with a lot of attitude of the cashier and there was no one in the store but me so no line) then we did the RR first and the gillette Q's 2nd and it woudl not take 2 of my gellette Q's. So she called her managher and he said only 1 Q per item and I responded that the RR are suposed to work like Walgreens cash. they told me “No, they are manufq Q's and there is a limit to one Q per item and I have 6 gillette Q's and 2 wags RR's so 2 things can not be deducted. I was so mad. I told her forget i them and she got a HUGE attitude with me and a customer stood in line behind me and she was real huffy and witchy. She then told me in a very nasty tone that I has 2 post cards in my bag that I needed to give back to her. I looked at her, handed her the bag (the first 2 transactions of stuff) and said “ok, take them out but you don't have to give me an attitude about it. She then threw my bag at me and I left. I guess my son stayed behind to purchase some candy he had coupons for (wags instore Q's) and he came out and said she crumpled up one of his Q'd and threw it away and then threw his recpt away and gave him his candy. I seriously NEVER want to o to this walgreens EVER again!!! How do you all do the RR and the Gillette Q's and get the transaction to go through???? I really need to know the secret. There are 3 other walgreens in my town so I will try those with the meathod if there is one.

      • Kkbrobst

Oh just to clarify, the cust behind me did not get witchy, it was the cashier. I WAS mad but I never got huffy and I never yelled at the cashier like she was doing to me. I satyed calm

        • Kkbrobst

I did have filler items. I got 2 post cards.

          • RC

I don't know how to make the transaction work, BUT: aren't they supposed to give you $5 if they fail to give you your receipt at Walgreens? I would have been all over that one… she would have really hated me. :)

            • JillyinSav

At our Walgreen's they ALWAYS get huffy doing multiple transactions. I was told once that the RR were for NEXT trip and couldn't use them.

            • Kkbrobst

I went to my fave walgreen tonight and the guy who loves to ring me up to see the savings I get, was there. (He actually tells me when he will be working so that he can ring me up) I did the gillet deal and bought 3 post cards and it worked. but, before it worked we could not figure out why the coupons would not ring in at all and the cashier realized it was because I grabbed deree clinical not gillet. eek. (He was showing another cashier what I do. he said to her as I was approaching the register “this is crazy. You gotta see this” So two of them were ringing me up. ) He had yet another lady run back and switch the degree for the gillet. :D I love this walgreens! Then… I did the Old Spice transaction and had to grab a couple $.50 candy bars off the counter to buy because they owed me money otherwise. I ended up owing $.06 for 4 deoderants, 2 bodywashes and the body spray (Old SPice trans). I had tax too so I paid $2.56 total $2.50 was all tax. Thanks to the girl who figured out the Old SPice senario!!!! The gillet I paid exactly what jenny said I woudl pay. :D

            • Kkbrobst

Oh and my rcpts said I saved $30 and $35! $65 for the gillet and the Old SPice transactions plus 5 postcards and 2 candy bars.

            • Kkbrobst

Haha. Sorry I keep replying. I forgot to add that I spent about $16 for the whole trip. Saved $65 (tax was in what I spent) and I still have $9 in RR left over. Very cool!

            • Aida

I tried that trans and my cashier told me that it would only allow 1 free item per trans. Any ideas why this happened? I had the same Q's that are listed in the senario. Thanks

            • M_bruere

Basically your cashier was assuming they wouldnt work. My sister had this issue at her store too and they refused to even try the coupons. Most coupons are made to attach to both items the one you buy and the FREE one. Cashiers are used to seeing this and think it is always this way. But its not.

Old spice coded them differently this time so they only attached to the free item. This means that you could use a coupons to get the item free and then use a coupon on the one you would be buying. Since they made the coupons we can assume they meant for us to be able to stack them this way and try out more items for less money.

I looked at what others had bought in the past few weeks and how they used their coupons to help me come up with this scenario. oh and I had to work backwards to figure out which coupons would attach to which products. I used this to help explain to my cashier why it would work.

I showed her I am buying 2 body wash so that makes the body wash free and then pushed the body wash to the other side of the counter with the coupon. then I did the same with the buy the deo get the body wash and pushed the 2 body washes to the other side with the 2 coupons. then took the deo B1G1 coupons and pushed 2 of the deo to the side. leaving me with the 2 deo and the buy 2 get $1 off.

I actually showed her how it worked, she understood and then allowed it since the computer didnt beep at any of them. I told her I wasnt sure if the $1/2 would work or not but it did.

Hope this helps anyone who is having issues. You still need to make sure it adds up to $25 before coupons. just double check the prices in your store as some have the deo priced about 50 cents less then mine.

            • M_bruere

Thats funny looks like you're talking about my old spice deal and at first I had gillette body wash too… :) too many gillette deals lately I grabbed the wrong thing. at least i had one of the nice cashiers that day and she laughed with me about it. Afterwards I explained to her exactly what I did and she was going to go grab it too. Just too good of a deal. I actually realized later if I had used a few different coupons I probably could have done it one more time. oh well. It was tough figuring it out to begin with.

    • nancyjo

I haven't read the entire thread – I'll apologize now – – but Walgreen's here in Macon, Georgia will not accept ANY printed coupons. <sigh> – so my ReNu coupons were worthless today. Boo.

      • michelle

I used printed Renu coupons at Walgreens on Zebulon on Sunday.

    • JillyinSav

What zip code do you use to get the $3 off Huggies coupon? It is not there at 31419.
      Thanks!

    • Anitadeal

can someone remind me of the order I need to present my Qs, $5/$30 couponds and and RRs at Wags. I always screw this up at check out…

      • Deshaine

My friend Robin taught me how to coupon and do deals at WAGs… and she told me to think of her:

        Dollar for Dollar ($/$$)
        Robin (Register Rewards)
        Makes (Manufacturer Coupons)
        Savings (Store Coupons)

        HTH

        • LeAnnaShaw

We just got a WAG's…so it is not like cvs…where I present manq. Q's first? I am just making sure i have it right…1. RR 2. manq. Q, 3 store qs(where does one get these???) I am just curious why one would not submit the RR last….? I want to go this week..and have no RR as of yet…so I will probably buy a few things I have good Q's for…or maybe even do a few transactions….I will start out small…and see what happens.

    • Faith

      • Syrivera9

Use Jenny's scenario as your guide. She uses a lot of the coupons you have and you can manipulate her scenario to fit what you need in your house.

    • Newsforwsue

Walgreens in my area (Charleston SC) offers military discount of 15% on brand name items and 20% of store brand items on the 1st and 15th of every month. This is in addition to any coupons yo have or RR.

    • Toothfairy70

Can someone tell me what I did wrong?
      I bought:
      2 Gillette body washes
      2 Gillette deodorants
      2 Old Spice deodorants
My total was $25.96 before Q's but I only got the $4.50 RR back, not the $10 RR. The cashier said it was because I used coupons, but I said then why did I get the $4.50 RR? She was rude and finally decided it was because the Gillette body washes are not considered skin care and not part of the deal. I tried to argue that I was right but she didn't care even when I told her I always have a problem with my Walgreens transaction and I probably won't come back again…she said “OK!” I was so mad! Should I have bought more deodorant and not included the body washes in my $25?? Any ideas?

      • SDADAMS

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME !!! YEAH WALGREENS SUCK USING COUPONS

      • pat

This is what happened to me. Since you got the 4.50 RR for body wash , it cannot be included in the 25.00 total to get the $10 RR's. I guess it will take buying more deo's , but that will be more out of pocket!

      • Blinddogmom

I don't think the body wash is included since it's not in the picture in the ad – I bought 5 deodorants and one body wash and used BOGO coupons, plus the $1 off two deodorants and got both the $4.50 for the body wash and $10 for the deodorants.

I always go to the cashier in the cosmetic department whenever possible, and I never have a problem. I explained that this transaction was a “test” to the cashier, and she was with me every step of the way to make it work. They even keep a box of coupons for beauty products under the desk at this Walgreen's to give to people who don't already have them. I'm sad to hear how much trouble other folks have with WAGS because I rarely have any problems at all.

      • Nananet Hardin

I feel your pain. I just spent an hour at Walgreens trying to figure this out and did not get resolution even after manager consulted. I used the contact information on their website and emailed customer service tonight. I did not use body washes to count as my $25 and even had the cashier (who was nice but how can I politely say ignorant?) subtotal to be sure had $25+, then I had my body washes rang up. All for nothing….I just got the $4.50 for the body washes!

The cashier's attitude with you was unacceptable. I suggest you contact upper management

        • Gold2992

I don'yt think talking to upper management at walgreens will help. they have alway been rude to me

      • M_bruere

the body wash was not in the deal. you could have added the body spray to bring your total up and use the buy 2 body wash get body spray free coupon and not added any OOP expense. if you look further down I have a scenerio using these coupons where I bought 4 deo, 2 body wash and the body spray and got both the $10RR and the $4.50

    • Syrivera9

Question: Last wk I bought the Gillette Razor and received 5RR now I want to buy the Gillette body wash using my RR from last week will I get additional RR from the purchase of the body wash? I am concerned because both are made by P&G.

      • Susannenelson

I do not believe that you will. My understanding is that RR's will not print if you use another RR from the same manufacturer to pay for the item.

        • Syrivera9

          Thanks

    • Courtney

In my store the twin pack of Renu is 8.99 and is generating the 7.50 RR. I used my $1 off coupon so I paid .50 for two bottles.

      • RC

I had the same in my store, EXCEPT the manager had the cashier do a price override to make it $7.49 (because they were out of the single), so I got 2 for the price of one! Forgot to use my $1 coupon, though.

        • Tammy

At my store they would only do the RR's on the sensitive eyes and of course they were out of it!! they would not let me get the regular one

    • LeAnnaShaw

I am new to walgreens and have a few questions not answered in the 'start' page. # 1…where can I find their coupon policy 2. I am guessing that the limit on the items w/ RR is always one. For instancethe first RR deal w/ 4.49 rr…wyb gillete or oldspice body wash..can I get each? Or just use it once. and last…do I need a card for Walgreens? Can I get it at store? Our first one just opened…I am hoping that I will have a good trip there tomorrow….

    • Jenn

      Walgreens.com $30 off $60 exp. 6/25
Note that you have to place two separate $30 orders for this to work. You get $10 off $30 the first time and $20 off $30 the second time.

Here is how the whole deal works (you have to follow the steps in order):

      (1) Gather $30 worth of items in your cart (there are some decent deals on Walgreens items like $6.99 diapers and some BOGO items; in general, take a look at the weekly circular and most items are also on sale online, without RR of course);
      (2) Click on this link http://http://www.walgreens.com/topic/promotion/frontendcredit.jsp?ban=slt_h [walgreens.com] or if the link does not work look at the bottom left of the home page for the button that says Get a $10 credit with your first order on Walgreens.com (don’t worry — it works with existing accounts);
      (3) Go to your cart, enter the code SUNNYDEAL and check out;
      (4) You will get $10 off $30 and free shipping. You will also get an instantaneous e-mail from Walgreens that contains a link to get a $10 credit on your next order.
      (5) Follow the link in the e-mail and put another $30 in your cart. Add the code SUNNYDEAL again (it is good for 5 uses per account). You will get a $10 credit plus another $10 off. See my actual order summary below. I confirmed that this works. You get $20 off $30 on the second order, bringing the total savings to $30 off $60.

      Subtotal:
      $30.95
      Tax:
      $0.26
      Credit Applied:
      -$10.0
      Less Promotion Savings:
      -$10.0
      Total Shipping Charge:
      View shipping details
      $0.00
      Total:
      $11.21
      Total Savings:
      $40.37

How did uou just pay $0.26 in tax?In some areas the tax alone would be over $2.00!

Does anyone know if there is a coupon out this week for a gift card w/ the purchase of a NEW prescription. I'm pretty sure my son is about to get another prescription at the doctor's office. Thanks!

    • Alice

I have to give a HUGE shout-out to my Walgreens in N. Charleston on Remount Road. The past 2 weeks I have gone in there have been wonderful! My new cashier friend Heather is really up on her coupon policy and helps to get the best deal for you (she's a southern saver follower too, yay!). She has been very patient and helpful. Tonight she had to void out one of my transactions and start over and she did it with a smile and no stress. I know people dog Walgreens but I'm so thankful I have a good one by us. Thanks Heather!! I'm also sending a good report to the corporate office, good customer service is so hard to come by these days these cashiers that do well deserve to be recognized.

    • Phae&MichMom

Being no one else has posted problems with the Gillette/Old Spice deal I'm going to give an anti-shout out to Walgreens on Central Ave in Summerville. They aren't my regular Walgreens but when I went in one day at lunch they had some great clearance items I wanted to come back for. When I went up with my Gillette/Old spice deals the assistant manager told me the deal was only if you reached $25 after coupons you would recieve the $10 RR, so I did combining of my previous planned sales. I tried to have the husband look and see if anyone else had mentioned it but he got lost southernsavers. Anyways, now I am home and it looks like she lied, or more likely misunderstood the previous transaction problems (note not with my purchase). I just spent several more dollars than I was planning on spending for once again trusting the staff at that walgreens again. I will say they were atleast polite tonight which was better than they usually are, however I'm sticking to Main Street. They are knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Shout out to Lisa and Annamarie at Main Street Walgreens in Summerville, SC, you two are always wonderful and I couldn't ask for better cashiers!
