so is the purex 3-n-1 b1g1 also!

    • Jenny,
Have you heard anything about Walgreens going to a system like CVS ?

    • Beth

      Lynn,

I compile the Walgreen’s ad each week and I also try to read the online chatter about Walgreen’s in general. About 2 months ago I read where they were going to change their system in July (no exact date) to be more like CVS. They mentioned having a card, but other than that there were no details. One cashier said she’d been told they were also trying to mainstream their inventory and that’s why there’s often so many clearance items in the stores recently. I did read in our local paper that their sales were down last quarter so I’m surprised they’re making changes. I’ll let Jenny know if I read something more concrete, although I’m sure she’ll know before me!

    • Beth

      Kristi,
You can click on the link for the ad scan to see the deal. I copied the wording directly from the ad, but the ad will show you photos of the products so maybe that will better answer your question.

    • Sloan

Does anyone know – for the items with the in-ad coupons (like reusable bags at 3/$1) do you have to buy three to get them for $.33 each? Or the Van Camps Beans – there is an in ad coupon for 2/$1 but I only want to buy one – will I be able to get it for $.50?

    • Beth

      Sloan,
If there is a coupon you can get it at the sale price. If it is just advertised (no coupon code) then you have to buy the quantity specified in order to get the deal.

    • angela

Problem with the L’Oreal Everpure RR’s!!! They are only for future purchases of L’Oreal! Very tricky! And our store had them priced at $6.99 each.

    • Becky

Has anyone had a problem getting the RR to print out when using the Dry Idea $2 coupon? Tried it at a WAGs today and the RR did not print out. Will try again at another WAGs but the manager told me it wasn’t even legal to make a $1 off of it.

I already know the answer to that is, yes, you can b/c the manufacturer is the one reimbursing the $2 to the store, but he said since the $2RR is basically a coupon from Dry Idea (the company), that it would not print out the RR. Wonder if WAGs is setting their system to not let you get “money back” from the Man. Q?

      Anyone?

    • dawn

I think that the problem is that the roll on is not included in the sale. In the flyer it said 3oz and the roll on was larger (3.2oz?). I had my coupon but didn’t try because of that. Let me know if it works at a different wags. You are right, it’s definitely not because it is illegal to make $1!

    • Becky

      Thanks Dawn!

    • Ginger

I made a wags run today at lunch…took advantage of several RR deals. One thing I noticed, WATCH EXPIRATION DATES on the FOOD ITEMS!!!! I was getting the Velveeta shells (part of the spend $20, get $5 RR), and a good portion of them will expire in July & August of THIS YEAR. I was able to pick & choose and find some with a Dec ’09 date. Same for crackers…some even expired in May ’09. SO, just watch those dates – it doesn’t make much sense to stockpile something that will expire too soon!

    • WL

I purchased the Dry Idea yesterday and the RR did not printout. I asked the cashier and she called up an asst. manager. They tried to tell me it was because I used a RR to pay for it (RR was from a purchase a couple of weeks ago for St. Ives). I had other items in the transaction not just the Dry Idea. They wouldn’t/couldn’t do anything about it. So I called the customer service line and she said someone would call me back in 48 hours. This morning I received a call from the Manager of the store where I made my purchase. He apologized and said that he tried twice this morning (not using any coupons or other RRs) and that it would not print any RR out for him. He is going to give me a gift card for my amount lost (I actually bought 2 in different transactions) and said he would report it to the Corp office that the deal isn’t working.

    • margaret

I bought dry idea yesterday RR didn’t print, when manager was called he didn’t say a word just opened up the register and gave me $2 marked receipt to say i had a refund.

    • lynn

same problem diffrent out come on dry idea here in florida… my rr didnt print they called the manager and was told this weeks ad was not loaded into the system right they did print my rr from another register and broght it to me first time i have had a positive experiance at wags …. but was told that a few diffrent deals that involved rr did not get into the system right…

    • Robin

I also bought the dry idea tonight and my RR didn’t print. I am going in that direction tomorrow so I decided to hold on to my purchase and come home and read this blog. I will run back by tomorrow to see if I can return it and try again. Hopefully they will get deals loaded correctly by then?

    • Mine didn’t print so I returned mine . The manager rerang it and it still didn’t print so he just refunded me the $2. Every store should have a manager like him. He is always so helpful.

    • Teresa-QOCD

similar experience in Laurens, SC. Purchased 2 colgates and only $1 RR printed. Manager said it was because I used a Coupon- huh? I think that is funny, printed but wrong amount. Any comments?

    • Lynn

I bought two bottles of Listerine and four cans of Pringles for $2.54 yesterday! And I was annoyed that I hadn’t brought in my extra coupon for the Pringles which could have made it $1.54. Thank you for this site..

I received in the mail a coupon for $3 off a $10 purchase at the new Walgreens they just built near me. Actually, one came in my name and the other in my hub’s name so I have two. I’m going back today for the Excederin deal.

Also, at one of the CVS I go to they had cold med’s clearanced out and since the exp. date was 10/10 I stocked up for next winter just in case. FYI>…..

    • Lynn

Oh, sorry, had a question…If it’s a buy one get one free (like the Move Free is this week) can I use two $5 off coupons? Even if one is free?

      • Jenny

        Lynn,

You can use two coupons with a B1G1 deal because you are buying two items. The store will still submit for both coupons to be redeemed so they shouldn’t care.

    • Shauna

Does Walgreens ever have 5 off 25 coupons like CVS and Rite Aid? I seem to remember reading something about it but I can’t find where. Do they accept competitor coupons like that?

I think I remember that if they do accept them then they only take the 5 off 25 (or whatever the coupon says) if your purchase AFTER coupons is over $25. Am I remembering this from a different store?

For me, this week is perfect for a coupon like this because of the
      $4RR wyb Walgreen’s Omeprazole Acid Reducer at $18.99 42ct

    • Shauna

Oh, I found the thread. Has anyone seen a pattern in when they make those printables available on the web?

    • Janet

I went to 2 walgreens today and saw the PUR water pitcher onsale (in clearance rack) for $7.49 and this sunday had coupons for $7.50 off.

    • Joe

WOW!!! I just a had a bad experience at Walgreens and the first thought I had was I have to tell Jenny and all. My wife laughed but did mention that I might get advice if I do. I will summarize. 4 Gas-X went through, 1 $5 RR came out when it should have been 2.Cashier said “one offer one RR”. They had no Dry Idea (got raincheck). Manager had to come and delete all items and then redo them. He forgot I had coupons and had to recalculate. It was getting so confusing with a big line growing. We left and my wife said we’ll never come here again. When asking if I could just get back in line and purchase more he said “no, I’ll know who you are”.
Did I miss something from the Walgreens Guide? Please help, there is no other Wags around.

By the way, This Site Rocks!!!!

    • Katrina

I went to Walgreens today. I had my son with me so
1 transaction was a 3 oz DRY IDEA with a $1.00 q from SS. It went thru and printed out the register reward (RR for 2 bucks).
The 2nd transaction was a 3 oz dry idea (same one)with the $2.00 q from online and it DID NOT PRINT THE RR.
Does anyone know why? The 1st total was 2.27 and the 2nd total was 1.27. Was it because the total was under $2.00?

    • Man, sounds like I’m not the only one with a bad Wags experience this week.

I bought items, like usual, with an equal number of man Qs, making sure I had my filler so I could use RR I had in hand from last week. I purchased an item unrelated to the RR I was trying to use. The RR that I SHOULD have earned did not print. The manager had to manually issue them. She thinks Wags is moving to NO RR issued if you use ANY RR to buy, even if not same/related item. I SOOOOOOO hope this is not the case and just a fluke thing.

    • Jennifer

I had a bad experciende at Walgreens yesterday as well. I used a $2.00 off coupon and the register reward did not print. The assisant manager told me that you can’t use a coupon to get RR. she said they are both coming from the manufaurtor not walgreens…this is the craziest thing I have ever heard in my life…I have had this happen a lot latley there…I am done with Walgreens…I will be sticking to CVS from now on!!!

    • Sara

Just a heads up for anyone in the Lake Worth, FL area… my local Publix had $2 off coupons wyb chips ahoy and capri sun. This coupon works wonderfully with this weeks 5RR wyb $20 deal. Hope someone else out there is able to take advantage – at .50 each it’s a fantastic deal!

    • lynn

what part of the stoer did you find that coupon sara

    • Tracie

Katrina #25- I bought the Dry Idea with $1 coupon and paid cash and no RR printed. I think Lynn (#14) is correct, it’s just not programmed this week. The Mgr. ran it through without a coupon and it still did not print the RR. He pulled the ad to make sure I was buying the correct Dry Idea and then manually printed a $2 RR.

    • I had 2 of the RR not print out yesterday. One was the price was not the same as the advertised sale price (actually cheaper)… the manager gave me a refund to make it equal what it would have been with the RR.
When she did that, she re-rang the deo and it spit out my RR..
Took a few minutes, but all is well…

    • Sara

      Lynn –
I found it in the drink aisle near the capri suns at my local Publix. I went there again today and they were all gone (surprise, surprise). Out of curiosity, how many Qs do you folks normally take off of a tearpad? I usually take 4 so that I can do two BOGOs. I’m always tempted to take more of the ‘good’ ones, but feel like I should leave some for everyone else.

    • Beth

Can anyone tell me what paper I’d have to subscribe to in order for my coupons to match this list? Right now I get 2 papers from my neighbors (the Tennessean I think) which is delivered to them, and I often don’t have the same coupons that are on this list.
      Thanks!

    • Deb

Well – I too had no RR print today.

I tried to the Listerine deal.. buy 2 @ 4.50/each (aka $9) and get $3 RR andI had two coupons — the $2 off each type.

The cashier believed the issue was that I used a coupon (actually two) – so therefore I didn’t get the RR.

Is this a new policy for wags… or just a case of the RR not printing properly at this store.

Anyone else able to do this deal successfully?

    • Shauna

      Deb,

I did the Listerine deal with no problems. (Lilburn, Ga)

    • Deb

      Thanks Shauna –

I tried a store here in Alpharetta for the listernine deal – Fortunately there are a few stores in the area that I might try.

      Thanks for the update.

      Deb

    • Tracie

I was at Walgreens on Peachtree Road in Atlanta today and tried to do the Dove deal. The RR would not print and when I asked the Mgr. why he said that the registers have been programmed to not generate the RR when a Manufacturer coupon is being used. Has anyone else had this issue?

    • Lisa

If you read the fine print on the register rewards it will tell you what you can and can’t use them on. For instance, when they offered RR on Huggies a few month ago the RR specifically said you couldn’t use them on any Kimberly Clark products (the makers of Huggies). So I used my RR on Pampers!

    • Tracie

*First Easy Saver- Now Register Rewards*

I have now been to 3 different Wags and bought the Dry Idea NO RR printed at all 3 stores. I also tried it on the Dove deal, NO RR there either. Paid cash, so no RR rollover was involved. I was told by every Mgr. that the RR will no longer print when ANY Manufacturer coupon is used. Not sure if this is only in the Atlanta area or if it’s at the sotre’s discretion, but it is not good, not good at all !!!

    • Kim

Tracie, I was told the same thing tonight on the Dry Idea. Used a $2 coupon and my RR did not print. Manager said the rules have drastically changed this week so customers cannot be paid to buy their products. If you use a mfr coupon, he said the RR will not print. I’ve emailed corporate, and we’ll see what they say. CVS, Publix, Rite Aid, Kroger, and SuperTarget, you’re treating me really well these days. Guess I’ll continue spending my coupons with you!!
