A few things to remember:

  • A Register Reward is a manufacturer coupon, so you can’t buy 1 product and use a coupon for the product and then try to pay with a RR. The computer will not accept two manufacturer coupons when you only bought one item. You will need a filler item. In the above transactions I choose the Russell Stover candy. There are other cheaper items in your store, I picked this just to give you an tangible example.
  • Store Coupons and Manufacturer coupons can be used on the same item without filler items being needed.

    • caroline

thanks for the information. Is there an order to hand in the store coupons and manufacturers coupon? should the cashier refuse to scan both manufacturer and store coupon is there a store policy rule that I can print from somewhere to show the manager of walgreens. Thanks for your help.

    • The Neosporin that is listed at .99 cents each is before the RR.

After the register reward it would actually be FREE plus you’d have a $1 MM. :-)

    • Beth

      Christie,
The ad scan shows the Neosporin price is $3.99. Where do you see 99¢?

    • Sheila

A couple of weeks back the catalina was giving out $2.00 on any mitchum deodorant. Will that work on the $1.99 price or will the register beep? Thank you

      **************
      Jenny Here:
Use the $2 off catalina coupon BEFORE you hand over the in ad coupon and it will take it without a problem. If you go the other way and reduce the price to $1.99 and then use the coupon it will beep.

    • Karen

I think I understand now, my last trip to walgreens was a nightmare! They would not let me use any of my coupons when I paid with register rewards! I am going to try to use the filler item this time to see if that works. I was so upset last time, I heald the line up and people were looking at me!

    • Tonya

I’ve just started shopping at Walgreens. This week I purchased 5 pints of starbucks ice cream ($15.00) so I would get the $5.00 off RR. I used 5 $1.00 off manufacturers coupons. I bought $30.00 more in other merchandise. I didn’t receive a RR and the cashier said it was because I used the manufacturer coupon and it cancelled my RR. Is this true? Thanks for your help.

    • Sarah

Can I still get the coloring book with the coupons and if so where can I find it? Thanks for the great list!!!!!!

    • Michelle

Sarah: My Walgreens still has coloring books but they placed them at the pharmacy and not with the kids coloring books.

    • Dale

Can you use a catalina for the Mitchum deoderant if it was printed at Kroger?

    • Lori

The last Wags I went to had the coloring books in the sumer clearance and they were $0.49! :)

    • Jennifer

I found the coloring book in the pharmacy in the waiting area. Would love to find it clearanced but not at my store yet. I did find some clearance .12 highlighers as a filler and I bought a pair of scissors on clearance for $1.50. Can’t have too many scissors to cut those coupons with. :)

    • Becky

Heads up for WAG shoppers: (this is common knowledge to most regular Q folks, but we seem to be adding new couponers at incredible rates!)

A Walgreen’s coupon can be used over and over again. You do not need to actually cut out and hand the coupon to the cashier. Just ask them to scan it. (Most cashiers should know this already.) So the coloring book Q’s you get to keep and use until they expire. Also the new drug Q book.

HOWEVER, I was told by a few managers that if the coupon states that it is a Manufacturer’s coupon, then it is a cut and give to them one. The ones in the $60 savings booklets are manufacturer ones.

      Hope this helps!

    • I meant the Neosporin that Jenny has listed as costing you .99 after coupons will actually be a = $1mm in the end.

      Buy 2 Neosporins @ $3.99 = $7.98
      (Use 2 – $1 off Printable MC)
(Use $2 off Wags Q in Activity Book)(will take off $4)
      Total OOP $1.98
      Get a $3RR = $1.02 MM

    • Syndi

I just left Walgreens for my fist and maybe last shopping trip. I purchased the $20 worth of shampoo and conditionor, not RR printed. So the manager marked down the product to make it right. My next transaction had 4 qualifying products for RR. I had manf. Q’s for 3 of the products. NO RR printed, when the manager came up there he said if I use a coupon I can not RR. So I did not purchase my last transaction, as I had no RR to help pay for. Is this true? If I have a Q for a product that offers RR, do I loose my RR by using the Q? If this is true how are you coming up with the above prices??? If not who do I complain to in order to try and get my $/RR back. Thanks I am new at this.. only my 2nd week using Q’s. Thanks in advance for all the work and help you guys give on here.

      • Jenny

        Syndi,

All the deals above do not start until Sunday 9/13. This is why nothing printed if you were trying to get next weeks deals. I try to always give you a days head start on getting ready.

    • Heather

Syndi, The above deals are for the sale starting tomorrow. Maybe that’s why you were having problems. You CAN use a manu coupon and a RR for the same item, as long as you have a filler item (same # of products as coupons).

    • LD

Tonya #6 I used manuf. coupons and a RR on my starbucks and it printed the RR for that deal. So not sure why they would not print the RR for you . If you used a RR by the same manuf [another starbucks ] to pay in that transaction , it would not print it . Other than that I am not sure .

    • Syndi

I am aware this post is for deals starting tom. I was shopping off the ad for last week. NONE of my RR printed and the manager said it was because I used a coupon for the product. example I purchased a scrubbing bubbles starter kit for 9.99 used a 4.00 man Q, according to the ad I should have gotten $3RR. I purchased 2 Garnier shampoo and 2 conditionors @4/20 used 2)-.75 man Q according to the ad should have gotten $10RR. I purchased 2 scented oil candle holders -.55 Q, should have gotten $1RR. No RR printed and the manager said it was because I used coupons. That the only way to get RR is to pay full price. Is that true and if not is there anything I can do about it?

    • Chanele

      Syndi,

I bought the scrubbing bubbles starter kit for 9.99 and used a 7.00 man Q and received the $3.00RR and went back another day purchased the scrubbing bubbles starter kit for 9.99 and used a 5.00 man Q and received the $3.00RR again. You do not have to pay full price to get your RR.

    • Jenn

      Syndi,
I’ve had that exact same issue at the new Wags near me. I think they’ve reprogrammed the computers not to print RRs if a Q is used. So, I just go to the older ones and have no problem. Are you at a newer store?

    • Syndi

So is there a number for Walgreens to file a complaint with. I lost $16.00 RR today and the manager would not do anything. I live in the country and Walgreens is the nearest drugstore to me. I have my reciepts and a copy of the ad.

    • Syndi,

This has happened to me before. What I normally do in that situation is tell the cashier to ring me up without any coupons or RR. A 100% cash transaction. Without fail, no RR will print out. It’s usually because the machine is down, out of paper, not communicating properly, etc. and has nothing to do with your coupons or RR. (Unless you are trying to pay for something with a RR you just got for buying another of the same, but that wasn’t the case for you).

So sorry that happened to you, I know how frustrating it is!

    • Samantha

My $2 Triaminic coupon was in the Back-to-School Coupon book from Walgreens

    • I was at Walgreens yesterday without incident. Today was a disaster. Did
not receive my RR back on one item, they never explained to me, at least where I could understand it, why I didn’t get it back. Sometimes it is so frustrating. I am an old couponer, was doing it before it was popular. I think some stores make it hard on you. Almost as if it is coming out of there payday. By the way, what is a filler item?

    • Heather

A great filler item I have been using is the vegetable or flower seed packets. They are normally with the clearance items & are ringing up $.08. Hope this helps!

    • Teri

Do you know the phone number for the Catalina company? I would like to call them and ask them if their coupons will be reimbursed if they are taken by other stores so that I can possibly call Publix headquarters and ask them what their offical policy is on them since they are manufacturer q’s. Several stores I have asked said that since they have “Walgreens” written on them, they can’t accept them but I’d like to know what Catalina says. I can’t seem to find their number.

    • Dana

At my Wags you get RR if you use coupons, BUT you DO NOT get RRs if you use ANY RRs to pay for the transaction. It doesn’t matter if the product is from the same manufacturer or not. So, I have to use my RRs on sale items that don’t print RRs. It didn’t used to be that way. Has anyone else had the same thing happen? The managers at this store are terrible too! By the way…it’s the Caldwell Mill/Valleydale store in Birmingham, AL.

    • Michelle

Here is my plan…. Shop on Tuesday due to Military Discount
      Murine Ear Drops 1
      true North Clusters 1
      Triaminic Allery 2
      advilPM 1
      softsoap nutriserums 2
      Neosporin 2
6 pkgs of stride BOGO 6

      totalPrice after military discount =37.80
      I have 18.00 in coupons
      I have 14.50 in RR’s

My OOP after tax is 5.57 and I will receive 23.00 RR’s for next week.
I MAKE 2.93 and come home with 15 products all of which my family will use. YEAH!!! thanks so much for this website!!! And I doubled check…I have 15 items and 15 coupons counting the RR’s. Even if I somehow counted wrong and have to add a last minute item…this is still a money maker for me.

    • Courtney

      Michelle,
Is Tuesday military discounts at all Walgreens? I hadn’t heard anything about it, but will wait until Tuesday if it is nation-wide.

      Thanks!

    • valerie

on my last wags trip i received 2 seperate RR coupons, one for $2 and another for $1. i came back the next day and purchased one item for 9.99. i didn’t have any coupons, but i planned on using my RR to get $3 off. they would not let me use both of my RR slips because i only purchased one item. has this happened to anyone else? it didn’t make any sense to me.

    • Michelle

Not all walgreens do the military discount…i would call and ask your store. I have saved a bundle because even the sale and clearance items ring up 15% off and 20% if it is a Walgreens brand item.

    • CYNDI

The other dilemma I have found with Walgreens is you have to keep up with what your RR’s were for, you cannot use a RR from a Glade product to buy another glade product. So you cannot keep turning the RR’s over buying the same thing. Sometimes I don’t remember what the RR was for so I think I will start marking on them. Also the amount has to be more than the RR before tax. Also if I am not mistaken RR’s count as a coupon so you have to have enough items to cover it also, this messed me up initially so hope it helps someone. Thanks for all you do!! Also our Walgreens has Sunday papers for half price, and you can use your RR’s to pay for them!!

    • Sandy

FYI.. a great filler item is the Sunday paper. It’s only .88 at the Wags in Greenville SC. (Sorry, I dont know if this all Walgreens or a regional deal.) For every RR I want to use I throw another paper in the cart!

    • MS

Which zip code are you using for SoftSoap Nutri Serum coupons?

    • Ginger

Valerie, I’ve had that happen at my Walgreens.
Also, re RRs not printing in some situations, keep in mind that you probably know more about couponing than the store staff– if they don’t know why something didn’t print, sometimes they just take a guess. (i.e., lie.)

    • Debra

      Hi, Valerie
I had the same thing happen and I don’t understand why you can’t use 2 RR on 1 item but I was told the same thing as you. I’m sorry that you had a problem. I don’t shop too much at Walgreens, too much of a hassle most of the time. I shop at CVS and usually do quite well and never have any problems. I like how there extra care bucks work. You might want to check it out if you haven’t done the ecbs before. Good luck to you.

    • Tonya

Hi LD #17, The manufacturer’s coupons were Starbucks $1.00 off. I drove to another Walgreens and that store manager said that the RR should have printed and I could return and repurchase at her store but my coupons were at the other store so that wouldn’t help. When I got home I called the 800 number on my receipt and the customer service guy said he thought that the first Walgreens was correct. That the manufacture’s coupon cancelled out the RR. I thought customer service should know for sure. However, he did say that they were working on a new incentive program after I mentioned CVS’s program. I’ll give Walgreens another try this week but plan to switch to CVS if RR fail to print again.

    • Colleen

Bummer. The Triaminic coupons no longer print- they say the campaign is over. So much for my plan! I don’t usually do Walgreens- sounds like a hassle but I do get my Sunday paper there every week (.99) in Nashville so thought I would try a few deals this time.

    • Nick

There are $10 worth of Claritin Liqui-Gels coupons (store and manufacture) in the paper today. Should make it around $8 bucks if anyone uses these

    • Terry

Several time the Neosporin promotion has been shown and it has been posted that there is a $2 In-Store Q, but I don’t find it. I’ve looked in the August and the September Wags Q book, but it isn’t there and there isn’t a display q station by the products. Am I missing something or could it be that the Q books are different for different locations?

    • Jenny

I just went to Walgreens this morning and could not find the “Healthy Savings booklet” that was mentioned above to have the $2 Triaminic coupon. I asked the store manager and they didn’t have a clue as to what I was talking about. Can someone help me to figure out how to find that coupon?

      Thanks!

    • Dawn

For anyone in the Clarksville,Tn area, go to the Wags on Trenton Rd. and check out at the makeup counter. I love my cashier….She is great, she watches this site and others. She will start a transaction completely over if need be and has done this several times for me. Also the younger manager that is there will come over and is very helpful.

    • Sheri

      Jenny
I found the Healthy Savings booklet last week by the sales circular there was also some by the cash registers in my Walgreens

    • Jennifer

      Samantha #23

So you had no problem using the $2.00 off coupon from the Back 2 school coupon book? It expired 8/29/09.

    • Gail

Can you tell me in what paper and where the $10 worth of Claritin Liqui-Gels coupons (store and manufacture) is at?
      Thanks

    • Gail

When I have a bunch of RR’s I always right on the back of each of them when I get home what they were from. That way I don’t use them on the same item next time I go to Walgreens.

    • Meredith

Is the Carefree ultra RR deal all month long?

    • Kellie

how do you get the -2 off the triaminic store coupon. i went today and I dont see where they took that off on my receipt. Oh yeah i tried to use two coupons for the bogo razors and my Walgreens said I could only use one coupon. Has anyone also had that happen.

    • Sharon

I just left my walgreens and had to return the triaminic because they wouldn’t accept 2 coupons although I bought 2 products. The cashier said the coupon says only one per purchase and I tried to explain that I was buying 2, but the coupon would not scan so I just went to the manager and returned the triaminic. I am not buying something that I cannot get my deal on anymore!! I love CVS. I never have a problem there.

    • libby

Are there any new coupon booklets out?

    • Debra

      Hi, Meridith
I believe that sale on carefree ultra pads is all month long at least it is in West Cola, SC but not sure about other areas.

    • Holly

When I bought the Bounty Towels 6 rolls $6.49 ea, I received a $3RR for the Viva 6 rolls.

    • Meredith

      Thanks Debra!

    • Taryn

Today was a great Walgreens day.

      4 Neosporin
      4 Triaminics
      1 Murine Ear Kit
3 Bags of True North Snacks

And I MADE $9.00. I truly love Walgreens. The Healthy Savings coupon books were on the counter at the pharmacy. I did not know, however, that you could keep those coupons once used. I have been giving them to the cashier each time.

I also don’t worry about rolling my RR’s at Walgreens. Because they are MFR Q’s, grocery stores will accept them. Even our HT that does not accept competitors, will take RR’s because they get reimbursed. No worries about rolling and watching manufacturers. I did come out of pocket today $21.96, but I now have $32.00 in RR to use at the grocery store this week.

    • Nina

Holly: is it a regular RR or is it a RR that has to be used specifically for Viva?

    • Kelli

zip code 45435 has the Soft Soap coupon.

    • Susan

      Syndi,
There is an 800 # for the Catalina company. You can call them and they’ll send you the RRs you should have gotten. I don’t know the # but I’ve seen it listed on iheartwags.com on the right side near the bottom. Hope this helps.

Carefree is month long. I did it again today.

Has anyone else gotten the RRs with the Bounty?? That seems to good to be true.

    • MS

Thanks Kelly for the zipcode for the soft soap coupon.

    • Ginger

Here is the Catalina phone number…. 888-322-3814… I have called them 2 different times now when RR’s did not print. Have your receipt handy (and a copy of the add is helpful, but not required). The people on the phone have been very helpful & professional. If I remember right, they ask for a callback number, and someone calls you back the next day to complete the process. Not a big deal, and worth the few minutes of your time. The only down side – it takes about 6 weeks for the RR’s to arrive in the mail, BUT, the expiration date is reasonable. For those having trouble remembering what product the RR’s printed for, it’s actually pretty easy. And, it’s not just the actual PRODUCT, but the MAKER of the product. Look on the RR, and you’ll see a company name (SC Johnson, etc), then look on the product you’re buying – in the fine print on the back of the label. There you’ll find the maker – alot of times with a miniature version of their logo. I hope this info helps – it seems like alot to keep track of, but the savings is worth it (to me, at least!)….GOOD LUCK!!!

On the Shick Quattro Razor ad, I have a question:

Schick Quattro Razor or 4ct cartridges B1G1 (price not listed) reg. $8.99-$9.99
-$4 off Schick Quattro Razor SS 8/23
-$2 off Schick Quattro SS 8/16
(buy 2 at $8.99, use (2) -$4 off coupons, makes it .48¢ ea)

**When it says $4 off shick quattro razor ss 8/23 what does that mean ? and where do i find it ?

    • Jamie

I just went to Walgreens and got 2 Softsoap Nutri Serums. They rang up 2/$5.00 and I used two coupons $1.00 and .75 off for a total of $3.25. Then I got back $4 in RR….I think I might go back again tomorrow:)

    • Bree

This was my third trip to Walgreens and I have to say the store in McDonough Highway 81 has amazing staff there, including all the managers. They are however, clueless when it comes to coupons and how/why the RR’s don’t print. I was able to pass along information to my favorite cashier (Joyce) and the store manager and they were both really happy to have it explained to them.

      Yesterdays’ trip was great:
      2 bags of Nut Crisps
      2 Softsoap
      2 Neosporin spray
      2 Schick Quattro package cartridges
6 bars of chocolate (store coupon in the little flyer at the front of the store and the catalina will print off more for you)
      OOP – 2.84 for all

The Publix on 81, will take competitors coupons, so the extra 6RR I had, I used when I purchased groceries. Was much fun shopping yesterday! = )

    • Lisa

i went to do the walgreens shick quattro b1g1 deal with 2 4.00 off coupons.. and they would only take 1. They said I am only paying for one and therefore cannot use 2 coupons. anyone else have this problem??

    • sarah d

Just an FYI for all of you having trouble with Walgreens: find the friendliest clerk and always try to have that person handle your purchases. That person will be familiar with the how to’s (might sometimes make a mistake or two) and, in my case, always gets a kick out of the deals I make. She is even becoming a bargain/coupon shopper and often shows me her deals. And, if you befriend a kind clerk, be sure to call the WAGS 800 # and commend that person – s/he will get a service pin and be even more helpful to you.

    • josh

Hi, I am new to couponing at wags.
If i buy a product which is free after RR and use the RR on next purchase, can i return the product without RR (either for cash or in-store credit for any other product). The receipt does not contain any mention of RR, so it is theoretically possible. But has anyone tried this?

    • Tonya

I called Catalina Marketing and gave the guy my receipt # from Walgreens. He was very nice and 30 mins later he said that the only reason he could find for my RR not printing was that some Walgreens weren’t having the Starbucks promotion. That my Walgreens promotion was for Starbucks coffee only. Sure is funny that the ad I picked at this store had ice cream listed for the $5 RR and I was charged the sale price of $3.00 each. I love your website and want to thank you for all of the hard work and time.

    • Elisha

ok so you can use a store coupon witn a manuf Q as long as you have a filler right? Or do you not need a filler? Thanks

    • Dee Dee

The walgreens in Oxnard, CA wont take more coupons than you items. like if I buy 10 things, I can only use 10 coupons and/or RR, not 11 or 12 coupons and/or RR even though i have more.

    • Kim

Went to Walgreens this afternoon and did these (2) Triaminic deals before they figure it out and fix the computers!!! According to what I’ve read and experienced, only the two UPCs listed below work……

      I bought:

      (2) Children’s Triaminic Night Time Cold & Cough Syrup (UPC 3-0043-6344-04-5) on sale 2/$10. I used the $2 Triaminic coupon in the Healthy Savings coupon book so it took off $4 total. I would have used my $1.50 off coupons too but I used them previously. My total was $6 plus tax and I got two $5 register rewards back!

      Then I bought:

      (2) Children’s Triaminic Thin Strips Allergy (UPC 3-0043-6383-14-3) on sale 2/$10. I used the $2 Triaminic coupon in the Healthy Savings coupon book so it took off $4 total. Again, I would have also used my $1.50 off coupons but I used them previously. My total was $6 plus tax and I got two $5 register rewards back!

      Thank you Walgreens!
      and

    • sara

Kim…the instore coupons, whether in the flyer or in the booklets will take off the amount times how many products. if it’s a dollar coupon and you buy 10 things it’ll take off 10 bucks! :)

    • sara

elisha..you don’t need a filler if you are using a store and a man. coupon. just the one item! :) only if you are using two man. like a coupon for the product and a register reward(which is a man. coupon), then a filler is needed

    • sara

lisa..shouldn’t be that way! did you ask for a manager? if ur walking out with two products you should be able to use two coupons. throw a fit if you have to and call 800-walgreens to complain about the unhelpful manager if they don’t let you. these people know the rules and are usually just trying to be difficult. they get paid back from the manufacturer either way! i know it’s not fun to be rude, but you can also say kindly that you know they should be able to take it and if they can’t at least try and scan it u’ll call. then smile!

    • Elisha

      Thanks

    • Kim

Thanks sara……but I wasn’t questioning the process, I was sharing the deal!!! Only one $5 reward should have printed for each of my transactions according to the ad, but two are printing on these specific UPCs.

    • sara

oops! sorry :) i didn’t get that from what you typed. sorry! sleepy..

    • Coupon Newbie

Where do you find the children coloring coupons book??

    • Tarrah R.

Thank you, Kim, for the heads up! I do not have the $1.50 coupon, but I could certainly use the items- and if I can make $4.00 for the deal- AWESOME! Will be going tomorrow- wish me well! ;-)

    • lelia

hi dawn #42 i am from clarksville, i know about the wags on ft campbell blvd, the wags on trenton road is that over near the great escape?

    • Tammy

I kicked butt at wags this week! I had the $1.50 Q’s for the True North I had 4 of them….. I made $6.00. on that alone. I got about $80.00 worth of stuff 4 about $12.00 I love wags! and Thanks so much Jenny

    • TammynSC

Walgreen’s on Hwy. 24 in Anderson, SC has the Tylenol Children’s Cold and Allergy liquid on sale for $1.99 ea. My daughter bought 2 and got back $5RR. $1MM. :) It would have been an even sweeter deal if she’d checked my coupon stash ’cause I also had coupons for it.

    • Jill

I need some help clarifying if I’m doing this right…

I want to buy 8 items. I have a total of 8 coupons. 4 are manufacturer coupons, and 4 are Register Reward coupons. Am I allowed to use all of those at the same transaction?

To clarify, the RR’s are from last week, so I’m not trying to use them for the same items. (I know that’s a no-no.)

      Thanks!

      • Jenny

That sounds like you will be good. You have the right number of items for the the number of coupons. Just make sure in the end that your total doesn’t go negative :)

    • Tiffany

Hi! Walgreens has always allowed me to use as many RR’s in a transaction as I wanted as long as I did not exceed the # and price of the items I was purchasing. Last week I was told, for the first time, that I can only use 1 RR in each transaction. Is this correct?

    • Tracy

The Wags in Athens, GA has fixed the error with the Triaminic. I got two $5 RR’s on Sunday when I did the Triaminic deal (2 for $10). Making it completely free! Today, I did the same deal and the computer only printed one $5 RR. I knew it wouldn’t last long. Oh well, you live and learn!

    • melissa

Just FYI for everyone….my local walgreens would not let me get RR for items that I used manufacturers coupons on. They said the RR are considered a mfr. coupon and you can’t use two on one item. The RR did not print off automatically either. Sounds like BS to me, but I thought I would pass it along and see if anyone else had this problem. Doesn’t matter though, CVS usually has better deals anyway!

    • Jennifer

I bought 2) Children’s Triaminic Night Time Cold & Cough Syrup (UPC 3-0043-6344-04-5) on sale 2/$10. I used the $2 Triaminic coupon in the Healthy Savings coupon book so it took off $4 total. I would have used my $1.50 off coupons too but I used them previously. My total was $6 plus tax and I got two $5 register rewards back

    • Jennifer

Sorry, sent too soon, I can’t find the Healthy Savings Book, so couldn’t use that coupon. I asked the pharmacy and she said she knew nothing about it, but gave me an ABC book of coupons. Also the extra 5 RR said complimants of Reckitt Benckiser on the bottom.

    • Carolin

I’m not sure where to put this. I’ve looked everywhere for the $4 MIR for softsoap ensembles and haven’t been able to find it. I emailed softsoap and was told that they are unable to mail it to me and that my stores that carry the soap should have the rebate. Does anyone have an extra copy of the $4 MIR. I would really appreciate. I wouldn’t mind trading coupons for the rebate.

    • Susan

      Tiffany,
The same thing happened to me this week in Jax, FL. They have a sign with the new policy- only one RR per person per transaction. The cashier allowed me to use them all bc she didn’t want to re-ring it all over again doing 4 transactions. I’ve been to 3 different stroes since then and used multiple RRs without any problems. It must be up to each store mgr.

    • Amanda

Hi there I just want to say to Karen ( post 5 ) don’t worry if people look at you…Wal-greens is SO hard, I hardly shop here unless there is a good deal to put forth the effort. You are saving money for your family who cares if you get some “dirty” looks, just smile and apologize, they normally are nice enough. Also I see more and more of us ladies ( and men ) out there now a days! Its nice to know you are not the only one :) Keep up all the great work you do Jenny!!

    • meg

Today is the day for the free film developing coupon that was in this weeks Walgreen insert – you can also print them from their website.

    • Kelli

Just FYI – this morning my husband was at Wags doing this weeks deals (and using up our RR’s that we had to use by today). In order to use all of them and meet the coupon/RR requirements, as well as stock up on some new RR’s, he was doing several transactions.
He was told that it’s the new Wags policy that only two transactions can be completed (along with only a couple RR’s allowed per transaction), etc. because wags is losing money on the deals.
He asked what the difference is if he walked out of the store and walked in to do other transactions and she said they had the right to refuse to sell to people doing that and that it is considered coupon fraud. Funny how it was okay before, but now because they’re losing money, suddenly their customers are committing fraud?? What a huge change! Anyway, this was a different wags than what we usually use, but she makes it sounds like it’s a corporate thing. Has anyone else heard this??

    • sara

hey kelli…was he trying to buy multiple free after reg rewards things??? i’m confused because that they can limit so they have enough product to sell thru the week. like one per customer, unless they have a ton of something. there is absolutely zero fraud in doing 85000 transactions if you wanted to! they are just trying to be difficult. as long as he didn’t have more coupons for each product than he had product. and no…they are definitely not losing money. the instore coupons used they get a corporate scan down for and they submit all man coupons to get reimbursed on. no worries! just ask for a manager and if that doesn’t get you anywhere call corporate! 1800 walgreens is very helpful ;)

    • sara

amanda you are so right! it’s all about killing them with kindness. at the end of the day they are not the people u have to sit at the dinner table with. save that money!

    • sara

jennifer. those healthy savings booklets actually come to management. if the pharmacy doesn’t know anything about it it’s because they weren’t given to them yet. ask for a manager..if they say they don’t know anything about it i’d call a few nearby wags and ask around. there’s some good deals in there!

    • sara

melissa..total bs! unless the reg reward is contingent on you spending a certain amount of money. like sometimes you have to spend 20 on herbal essence or something, but if it just says on this purchase, with no monetary amt, you should be good. and here i go again, call 800 walgreens. u might get compensated even better!

    • sara

oh oopss.just wanted to say with those purchase limit things. even if you have at least $20 in product but ur man coupons bring it below that…it’s a no go :(

    • sara

i want to know what walgreens u r all going to??? if corporate started the whole ‘only 1 rr per trans’ than all wags would have to follow. mine is good to go! i really think they are just being difficult unfortunately.

    • Susan

2 RRs not printing on the Triaminic allergy strips anymore. :(

But One a Day O2 dissolving powder packs of 2 count for .99 each. Buy 3 get 5RRs! Berry flavor and lemon-lime. Check out stlmommy.com for upcs.

    • Sandy

Manufactures want to sell a product, so they offer a coupon.

Marketing genuis wants to get you in the store, so he develops a promotion.

Stores want to sell a product, so they put it on sale.

How does being smart enough to combine these things equal fraud????

It sounds like some of these stores are getting mad that we are playing the game so well.
Thank You Jenny for teaching us how to follow the rules and still win the “savings game.”

    • MS

I tried two different stores in Greenville but they dont have the Healthy Savings Booklet. Did anyone find the booklet in Greenville?

    • Kelli

Thanks for your response Sara. I had put together 5 total transactions because we had several RR’s to use up today. Here are the transactions (maybe you guys can see what the problem is):

      1. Soft Soap Nutri-Serums x2, True North snack, filler item. We used: $5RR, $4RR, and 2 Soft Soap Serum coupons

      2. Kashi Cereal, Small photo mailer for filler, True North snack. WE used $4RR, Kashi coupon, and True North Coupon

      3. Kashi Cereal, True North Snack, Photo mailer (filler). We used: $4 RR, Kashi coupon, and True North Coupon

      4. True North Snack, Photo Mailer. We used: $4 RR

      5. True North Snack, and filler items. We used: $5RR

I haven’t gone through everything, but he said that a RR didn’t print for something, so the manager was called over. It was the manager that told him everything I previously posted. She even told him that she couldn’t do anything about the fact his RR didn’t print! He said that since he had mult transactions, he let other customers check out inbetween his, etc. So it doesn’t make sense. I agree with the PP that when they do a promotion with coupons, how can they say that we can’t maximize them?? The RR’s doesn’t serve a purpose if we can’t roll them over for more RR’s.
I just couldn’t believe the whole “coupon fraud” thing. I guess my husband told the manager that she had never heard of that before, and she just said well maybe it’s called something different in different places.
I also need to correct myself, this was actually at the Wags that is always awesome with the RR’s. they even fixed it when we previously didn’t have RR’s work correctly. So this was a definate surprise!!!

    • Kelli

Another question/comment…. I noticed on the recipts that the RR’s ring up as a manufacturer coupon. So this really doesn’t make sense with Walgreens trying to regulate the way this manager says they are. that’s like saying if I bring in a Sunday Paper coupon, that then I can’t get the RR for the items I”m purchasing, etc?? that doesn’t make sense. all of the transactions had a balance that we had to pay. also, I think that if they’re going to suddenly make this change, why aren’t there signs in the store, as well as in the ad..such as “to receive this advertised RR deal, you cannot pay for the transaction with RR’s”.

      • sherrie

you can use rr and manufacturers coupons at the same time but you can’t use more coupons than you have items. (ex. 4 items and manufacturers coupons you would need 1 more to use the rr and it only has to be for small amount of money to count as an item.

    • shelly

      Hi
If anyone is having trouble with rr being printed i call this cantalina number 1-888-322-3814, they are very helpful and just need a few numbers from your receipt and they can look up your receipt transactions, most times they call me back later the same day.
I use all my RR at Publix to reduce my grocery bill, as they say manufacturures coupon publix never questions these.
      Shelly

    • Kelli

Shelly, I’m so glad you gave the suggestion of using the RR’s at Publix. This would eliminate part of the issue with Walgreens!!

    • Tiffany

Sara…My issue was with Walgreens in Dayton, TN. The crazy thing is that the front of the RR clearly states that you can’t use more RR’s than you have items in the transaction. Why would it even state this if you are not allowed to use more than one anyways?? Guess I will try contacting the corporate office and see what they say about the issue. This same store also told me they are probably going to stop accepting internet coupons.

    • hi i have a walgreens opening up soon in maine, i was wondereing what the coupon policies are for them, and what is the RR do you get them right away or have to mail for them.

    • sara

yea kelly sounds totally legit. wag switches managers around A LOT. so it’s possible that she was new, or just being fresh! or truly managers aren’t trained as well as they should be on all policies, and yes someone else said that they might just be jealous that we all get together and have these resources. anyway, i’ve said it before but there are numbers for every districts main office and the 800 walgreens num. get names of emp(on the receipt) and any management involved and just explain. i know it’s extra time, but it’s so not cool…i wish you could all come to my wag! i have a relationship with most of the employees there and there’s quite a few of us bargain shoppers. these employees think it’s hilarious when i only pay a few bucks!

    • Samantha

Does anyone know if you purchase two of the same item, do you get two separate RRs to print, or one “big” RR for double the amount? If I buy two bags of True North chips in the same transaction, would I get two $3 RRs or one $6 RR?

    • Gail

      Samantha 109

You will only get one RR for $3 back so you need to do 2 transactions.
You always have to buy two of the same products (getting RRs back) in diffrent transactions.

    • Kristen

At my wags, I saw One A Day Women’s O2 in the 2ct variety on clearance for $0.99. Didn’t buy any, but, I now see on a couple of blogs that these count towards the advertised deal. Which means if I buy 3, I will get $5 RR! Has anyone tried this?

    • Kelli

Sara – thanks for looking over the transactions. I think I will call the Walgreens corporate number. This store was previously so helpful when things wouldn’t print correctly. The whole “fraud” work just scared me a little!

    • I did the deal that Kim mentioned (with same upc) it didn’t work, only one rr printed… but still not bad 2 for a dollar!

    • Angela

How do I get on with the Register Rewards?

    • sara

tiffany…i’m very much on the up and up with walgreens ;) did you talk to a manager? the whole no internet coupons is crazy talk. as for the rr..ur right! they should take as many as you have items for. i really enjoy walgreens, and am a little bit of advocate so i hate to see these negative posts about them! since it’s a corporation, a store really can’t make up rules on their own. i hope you get somewhere with the district or corporate numbers! i wish you could all come to wesley chapel, nc! road trip! lol kidding…good luck! and don’t give up!

    • sara

angela…the beauty is you don’t have to do anything! you don’t need a membership card or anything. just go to walgreens and buy the product! after you pay a coupon spits out. off to get my free stuff from teeter for the second time! jenny is awesome!!

    • Jennifer

    • Debra

Question? I want to do the True North nut snacks twice can I do this with using (2) $1.00 coupons along with 1- $1RR and 1- $2RR? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    • Gail

      Debra 118
You will have to do this in 2 transactions to get 2 of the $3 RR back. To do this you would have to do the following:
      #1Buy:
      (1) True North $3
      (1) Filler item such as .25 candy
      Use:
      -$1 RR coupon
      -$1 mfg coupon
Get: -$3 back for the True North

      #2Buy:
      (1) True North $3
      (1) Filler item
      Use:
      -$2 RR coupon
      -$1 mfg coupon
Get: -$3 RR back for the True North

Total of items can not be in the negative. And do not use the $3RR that you get back from first transaction on the second one. You will not get another -$3 RR back for the True North if you do.

    • Debra

      Hi, Gail
Thank you so much for answering my question, I wasn’t sure if I had to use a filler or not. I’m still learning about these register rewards.
