When you print the Robitussin coupon, it says “Excludes Robitussin To Go 2 count”

      • Jenny

I was afraid of that. Trying to work in the car :( I’ll fix it.

        • Becky

I did find a $1 off any childrens Robitussin (peelie) on another bottle when I was shopping for some the other day. I don’t suppose the To Go is a children’s product?

      • Cori

There is a coupon in the redplum circular today for $1 off these.

      • Just a general comment about Walgreens. I won’t go back anytime soon. Sale stuff hard to find and not well marked. I spent way more than planned b/c at my Rocky Mount Walgreens you won’t get RR for times you spend RR to purchase-even if they are different items. Blew my whole plan for today. Wasted LOTS Of time w/ refunds -bought two wrong items and spent more $$ than planned since I couldn’t “roll” my RR.

        • Felecia

I went to walgreens today right next to where I work. They would not print any register rewards on anything that was bought. The manager would not honor anything in the ad related to register rewards. I even tried to buy an item without coupons and/or register rewards. The register rewards still did not print. The manager stated that she could not do anything about it since corporate loaded the computer wrong. I had to get the entire purchase credited. I went to a walgreens 4 miles away and every work exactly like the add.

          • Brenda

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. After waisting my time arguing with the manager who by the way has no customer service at all. He is the only manager that ever gives me a hard time and gives me the same story every time, like he don’t know me by now. He always says its from coporate and all walgreens are doing it. Luckly I live close to several others and know that is not true. Anyways it turns out that it wasn’t a coporate thing it was the fact that none of the printers had ink for the RR to print. They kept changing the ink and tried like 10 before any would work. No wonder they weren’t printing and no one knew about it. They should have ink in the printers in order to print. I won’t be returning to this walgreens ever again.

          • Felecia

I wanted to add to my post yesterday. I received an email from the walgreens manager. He stated that he has re-instructed all of his manager at the store to “make it right” when it comes to register rewards. This is to happen before the customer leaves the store. I want to say that I think is is commendable.

    • Karen

The shopping list icon is missing.

    • Ann

Tried printing the Theraflu coupon but it keeps asking me to install the coupon printer. I have no trouble printing other coupons, just this one in paticular. Any suggestions?

      • ZJ

I’m having the same issue. :(

        • Amy

I just reinstalled it and it worked fine. Don’t know what the deal is but atleast it worked. I printed it two times but had to reinstall it both times.

          • Sarah Beth

Mine did that, but then it just printed it!!!

      • Kelly M

I googled Theraflu coupon and it took me right to the site..Has a link to print the coupon right off. Hope this helps!

        • Ann

          Thanks Kelly, that helps!

      • That means it’s a firefox and you’re printing in IE, or vice versa. Check the address bar and look for the letters “vg&o” or “vi&o” or wg&o” or “wi&o”. If it’s an “i” change it to a “g”, and if it’s a “g” change it to an “i”. That should fix your problem!

        • nancy

i wrote it down and taped it to my computer so not to forget. lol

    • Rei

According to the All You website the Halls coupon is $1/1…is that a typo on their end??

    • Katherine

I’m having trouble with the Thera Flu coupon too. Do you have an IE link?

      Thanks.

      • Jenny

Just added one. Sorry I try to catch all of those and missed it.

    • ZJ

Is the “healthy savings” booklet something we can still get our hands on? Where is it located?

      • Honey

I couldn’t find the healthy coupon booklet either. I emailed corporate. Then they had the store manager call me. I told him I was looking for the booklet and he said, “these are for people who get the flu shot, but I’ll save one for you.” He did end up giving me one. I don’t think they are for flu shot recipients (I think it’s another case of misinformation). I recommend asking a manager. If they don’t agree to give you one just call the 800 number and ask. Good luck.

        • Beth

I received one in my bag last week — cashier just stuck it in and I didn’t get the flu shot.

          • Paricia

I found mine sitting on a little table in the pharmacy waiting area…crazy!

            • Can someone scan a copy of the Thera flu coupon out of the Walgreens book? I can’t find it either or would that even work?

    • Aimee

Can someone please explain why you have to have a filler item in some of the scenerios?

      • Jenny

It is mostly because RR’s are manufacturer coupons you have to have the same number of products as coupons to be able to use the RR. It won’t let you buy one item, use a coupon for the item and pay for it with a RR since that would be two manufacturer coupons on one item. Make sense?

        • Aimee

I have $12.50 in RR’s. So, I could not pay for an item with RR’s and use a manufacturer’s coupon?

          • Steve

That is correct. It makes it hard to get rid of small RR’s at Walgreen. You can use them at Publix, one per transaction. Isn’t it crazy that they send you to another store to use their coupons?

            • Chris

              Steve,

Hypothetically speaking…If I had a RR, say $4, could I use it at publix for a one item transaction (not using any other coupon)that costs $6?

            • Tara

What publix store do you go to? I am in Tn, and my Publix said they do not get reimbersed for the RR. I would like to speak to a store manager that actually accepts them to find out. Thanks!!

      • Erin

I was also wondering about the filler item on scenario #2. I finally understand CVS, now if I can just get this Walgreens business down I’ll be set :)!

        • Erin

Gotcha, posted late, sorry! And thanks!

        • Steve

The fine print on the RR coupon says that your mfg. coupons cannot exceed the number of items in your transaction. RR’s are Mfg. coupons. Thus if you went in to purchase a product with a mfg. coupon you could not use a RR coupon since it is also a mfg. coupon. You would have to purchase another item without using a coupon. Then you could use your RR coupon. That would give you 2 items and 2 coupons which meets their criteria. You can use RR’s at Publix, one per transaction. I have had to do this to get rid of a lot of RR coupons.

    • RP 8/23 has a B1G1 on the Oral-B Indicator toothbrush, not sure if that is included in the deal for this week or not, but if it is you will get 2 toothbrushes free after RR instead of 1 :)

      • Jenny

I wish it were but this is a different toothbrush :(

        • TaylorTownPreview.com says that in the P&G insert this weekend there will be a $0.75/1 Oral B coupon for Pulsar, Crossaction, Advantage Toothbrush or $0.75/2 Indicators. Bonus!

    • leigh

Will Walgreens let your total be “nothing” w/just tax? like in the theraflu deal? I tried something similar before and was told the total couldn’t be “nothing.”

      • Diann

No…it can’t be nothing. I even tried having a negative balance, but that doesn’t work either. So just pick up something cheap so the register doesn’t reject the coupon.

      • yes- I do it all the time.

    • lynn

walgreens seems to be having good deals lately and now that i have found a publix that takes the rr i have been way below budget lately woooohooo thank you jenny for all your hard work

    • Honey

Thanks! I love the printable shopping list/deal scenario section!

    • Kristi

Thanks for posting this list so early!!! I don’t know anyone else in the world who would spend so much of their own time to help me save money!!! You are truly the best!!!

    • Brandi

      Wouldn’t the 75/1 Oral-B Pulsar, CrossAction, Advantage OR .75/2 Indictors (exp 10/31) from PG 9/27 work for…
$3 RR wyb Oral-B Advantage 1-2-3 Toothbrush at $3 free

    • lindsay

Hi! Great week at Walgreens! I might be mistaken but I thought there was a Biore RR deal this week… something like spend $15 on select John Freida or Biore get $5 RR. Is it listed and I didn’t see it or is it missing from the list? Thanks for the help!

    • Lisa

When does Walgreen put their sales in the computer? CVS when not a 24 hr store has their forthcoming week in Sat at 6 p.m.

      • Jenny

Walgreens will not start to print the RR until Sunday morning. Some have been known to print at 8pm Saturday but it is not a set thing and even varies at the same store.

    • LD

Thank goodness Wags deals are back LOL I really have missed them. Now if we can get the health saving book this will be a good week.

    • Heather

This does not work at my Walgreens stores here in Virginia Beach. They don’t let me use RRs in purchases where I will be getting RRs back. So if I am getting Gillette razors, where I will get some RRs for the purchase, I have to pay for it out of pocket, not RRs. It stinks.

      • Steve

You should be able to as long as you don’t buy the same deal that got you the RR in the first place. That’s how they control limits since they don’t have a savings card.

      • I have a Walgreens near me that does the same thing. It’s stupid especially since I just have to drive down the road 2 miles and that Walgreens accepts the RRs as long as it’s not the same manufacturer as what you are buying. Have you tried another Walgreens?

    • Laura K

The September Coupon Book coupons expire tomorrow, 9/26, so there would be no way to use them on the Glad trash bags deal, right? Or is it like with CVS, non-24-hr stores start sales at 6 pm Saturday?

    • Lisa

I was told at our Wags that if you buy 2 of one item…like the Thera flu, it would have to be rung up seperate to get the rr’s for each one. Is that been everyone’s experience or is my Wags screwy?

      • Check the ad. If the deal is to get $4 rr when you buy 2, then, obviously, you have to buy two. If it then says “limit one”, that means you can only do one of those deals per transaction. SO you can’t buyh four and get two $4rr’s for doing two deals.

    • Tegan

Thank you for organizing the shopping list. The scenarios are great for those without RR’s!!

I went to Walgreens tonight hoping to find the Domino’s sugar on clearance. They rang up 80 cents even though the shelf tag said $3.19. (yay) As I walked out the store, I found the ABC’s coupon booklet in a plastic holder tucked between the anti-theft scanner (I don’t know what one would call those.) The Healthy Savings booklet were found in the cosmetic department. Have fun shopping everyone! Once again, thank you Jenny :)

      • HSV mom

Do you mind if I ask where you are? I went to mine here in Huntsville and the sugar rang up regular price. :(

      • Bobbie

I called my Wags today and they had Domino sugar last Tuesday on sale for 80cent for 5lb. Went to another Wags tonight and their was $1.99 because they didn’t get any of the 4lb in that was advertisted. Think Wags is only going to carry the 4lb and a different company.

    • Samantha

I printed a $2 off coupon from Robitussin last week. The coupon doesn’t have any exclusions listed on it other than it says “not valid with any other offer”.

      • Sarah

did you have an trouble printing this? I cant get the robitussin website to display correctly so I cant register for the coupon.

        • LD

Same here and when I finally did get it to go through it said I had already gotten the offer . lol . so don’t know if my registration that failed or there site . But I do seem to have trouble with that manuf. coupons printing and their sites in general.

        • Samantha

I did – the button to hit “submit” or “enter” didn’t display, but I just randomly clicked around at the bottom underneath the quiz and there must be a button there that just doesn’t show up, because it worked.

      • nicole

I have the same coupon as you and it doesnt say anything else so we should be able to use it.

        • Colleen

Mine says excludes To go 2 count.

    • Samantha White

back in the pharmacy, the book says healthy savings on it ask them for it.

        • Jennifer

Nobody has heard of the Healthy savings booklet at my Walgreens. I checked with the pharmacy, the manager and cashiers as well as looking all over the store. Any advice?

    • Annamarie

      Will CVS accept RR’s?

      • LD

I have been wondering the same thing . I am going to cvs this weekend and I am going to ask if I can remember . I am going to use my RRS for ink for these coupons but CVS has it on sale way more often that wags . If I remember to ask I will post back here .

        • Bobbie

I have used the Rite $5 off coupon at CVS in Birmingham.

          • Angie

            Bobbie-

Which CVS will accept the RA coupon? Thanks for your help!

            • Bobbie

I’ve used competitor coupons at CVS in Fultondale and also on Allison Bonnet Drive. Sorry just read your post.

    • nicole

I was looking at your grand plan and was wondering if I use the 3.00rr(oral b) in #4 and use it in #5 would I still get the rr on the herbal essence since there both from proctor and gamble? thanks so much for posting it early cause it gives me time to gather my coupons.

I’ve noticed that it depends on what manufacturer is listed on the product itself. If they both say Proctor & Gamble, then no it won’t work, but sometimes it will have a different name & then in small print “a division of Proctor & Gamble” and I have been able to use P&G rewards on those products & still get new RRs.

        • nicole

I did the grand plan today and I only got 3 rrs at the end, instead of 4. I will just tweak it when I do it again, thanks.

    • Sarah

The walgreens in Greenville on Wade Hampton has the healthy savings booklets near the pharmacy.

    • Dani P.

I love the shopping list feature that you’ve added. I really do – I love it!
      Thanks!

    • Lisa

Jenny… Walgreens has a store coupon for Pull ups on their site for $2 off.

    • Amber

I live in Gwinnett Co, Georgia. Anyone know of a Walgreens around the area that will let me roll my RR’s? I’m having problems finding one. Thank you!

    • Michelle

I have a question. My Wags doesn’t let me use more than one RR in a transaction. Like if I buy two items and don’t have any other Q’s and try to use two RR’s, they will not let me. So my question… (where is the RR policy so that I can print and take with me?) Cause if there is not a RR policy this awesome scenerio will only work up until the last transaction, when you have to more than one RR in the transaction.

    • Kristina

Has anybody ever had an trouble with Walgreens not printing RR’s when you use coupons for a product? My store said that was why some of my RR’s didn’t print off last time.

    • No more theraflu coupons? Any ideas?

      • Beth

If you use the store coupon it’s still free, just not a money maker.

      • If you buy three at $4/each, you get an $8rr. So if you buy 3, use the $2 Wags qx3 = $6oop, get back a $8rr. . . it’s still a $2mm!

    • becca

i just went to wallgreens and bought the theraflu and then went to purchase the fusion razor and the rr did not print off. i don’t know if that happened to anyone else but they are both p&g. which i looked up after i went there. so you may not want to pair those right after each other.

      • Beth

Just an FYI, the Fusion razor is the MVP razor not the regular one. I bought the wrong one and had to return it.

    • Lisa

Went this morning and the Walgreen’s Theraflu coupon didn’t work and they wouldn’t push it through for me. Spent $4.48 more than I wanted, but I know we’ll need the stuff this winter. Also, tried the toothbrush on 3 different registers and the RR never printed. The manager finally refunded my money, but said he would submit a “Get it Fixed” ticket for it. Not sure if anyone else is having these problems, but thought I would give a heads up. Thanks Jenny for all you do!!!!

      • My Wags had a sign on the toothbrushes that said the RR’s would not print and that you could mail them your receipt and they would send you the money back. I choose not to because that means I have to pay for the stamp and wait. No thanks.

    • Beth

If anyone needs a good filler item, I found the Walgreen’s Children’s Activity Booklet on the clearance shelf for 24¢! It’s filled with Walgreen’s coupons that don’t expire until 3/2010. This is the Walgreen’s in Columbia, SC on Devine Street. Clearance shelf was at the end of the Halloween section.

    • Jennifer

There is a new policy in effect at the Walgreens in Aiken, SC. Not sure if it is in effect everywhere.

    • Jennifer

I went in to purchase 8 or 9 different items – no duplicates on any of the RRs. I was informed by the cashier that EVERYTHING

    • Jennifer

(Sorry, I keep pushing the wrong button – I’ll get all the info on this one :))
I was informed by the cashier that EVERYTHING had to be purchased in ONE SINGLE transaction. They are not allowed to do more than one transaction per customer. I’m not the arguing type and one of the sales clerks was obviously already very flustered from an angry couponer this morning.
Apparently, all of the employees had to sign a paper stating they understood they would be TERMINATED if they allowed a customer to ring out more than one. In essence, making it impossible to roll RR’s on a single trip to Walgreens.
I would love to know if anyone else runs into this today or if this is just the Aiken store policy.

      • Nery

Hey Jennifer,I live in Augusta,GA and was told the same thing this morning.I had to leave my items simply because I don`t see a point of couponing if I have to go by there rules. No more Walgreens for me, which makes me even bigger fan of CVS.

        • Nery

Don`t get me wrong not that I don`t go by the store rules but I just can`t afford spending that much money and than trying to find a way to get rid of all the RR`s.

          • Jennifer

Hey, Nery, I was wondering if it might just be in Aiken. I called customer service and she said she hadn’t heard of any policy change to that effect and gave me a number to call on Monday to get further assistance. I am going to have a time trying to figure out how to use all of those separate RRs and I guess I’ll have to use them on items I don’t also have coupons for. I’m hoping to use them all up and then just stick to CVS and RiteAid. I don’t have any trouble with those stores. No coupon limits to keep up with and I can do as many transactions as I like…

        • Sarah

I’m in Augusta too- at which store were you shopping?

      • Nelanie

I live in Milledgeville, Georgia. Our Wal-Green’s doesn’t care how many transactions you do at one time…just shop there and keep spending money. They are always super nice and helpful and one employee even helped my husband find all of the best deals one day when he had to go shopping for me. The cashier was just as excited about him saving money as we were!! Great store and so glad they opened here!

    • Jennifer

So, I ended up buying all of the items in one transaction. I used $4.50 RR from last week and spent $23 or so out of pocket. I left with $27 in RRs. I actually don’t mind the new set up, but I would hate to have that much expire before I can get back to the store!

It’s a shame that due to a few RR abusers, they’ve had to change their policy. Please keep in mind that it only takes a few people to make things difficult for everyone. They DO remember the customers that abuse their policies.

I want to be clear that the cashiers were not being rude, neither was the shift manager. They simply wanted to keep their jobs – and so would I if I were in that situation.

      • Kathy

Jennifer- That happened to me once and I just left and went to another store. I told the manager at the second store what happened and he couldn’t believe it. He said a lot of managers don’t understand RR’s. He was extremely helpful and told me to let him know if I have any trouble with RRs because he knows that is the best way to shop! This was in Villa Rica, GA (the good one I mean).

        • Tina

Kathy, which Walgreens in Villa Rica was the ‘good’ne that you mention?

      • Angie

Fusion Razor & Oral B tooth brush did not print RR. Manager tried it at 2 different registers. She said she would try to “reset” the sales in the computer.—-Ooltewah, TN

        • All of my Fusion razor rr’s printed (I buoght 4 in four separate transactions). Make sure you buy the “MVP” one. It’s the one printing rr’s.

    • ginger

Just thought I would let everyone know that my RP had a $1/1 coupon in it for the Robitussin To Go.

      • Becky

I just checked my RP, but it says “Excludes 2 count”. Bummer…

        • Susie

I had the same Robitussin coupon that excluded the 2-count, but I decided to try it anyways, and the cashier didn’t even notice so I got to use the coupon!

          • ucmba97

Wouldn’t that be fraud? Or do you feel that because it’s a corporation, and the manufacturer will likley pay the coupon value to the retailer, that it’s not fraud if no one loses and value?

    • Stephanie

I didn’t have a problem doing 4 seperate transactions. In fact the cashier said she recommended it so you don’t leave with a bunch of RR. Also had no problem using 2 or more RR in a single transaction as long as I had enough items in that transaction. But my Halls RR and the oral B RR did not print and the manager had to give me a gift card for the extra $4 so just make sure you check everything! This is for a store in Charleston.

      • Becky

RR not printing may have to do with using a Q for it. I was told by a manager awhile back that the machines have been set up to be able to “tell” if you use a Q with it. But only if you are getting that item by itself. If you add in a bunch of other Q and fillers it won’t be able to “distinguish” which Q is for what and so on. And each store’s computers can be different.

Best advice is to find a Q friendly store, get to know the cashiers and the managers, and just work with them, and they will work with you. If you don’t have other options, I guess just do your best to figure out their system. Hope that helps. :)

        • Barry

I’m sorry but I don’t think you can confuse a computer like that. After all, it is a computer. Just a thought. Sound like the manager was giving you the run-around.

    • Chris

$2 RR wyb Herbal Essence Hair Care at $2.99

If the requirement is to purchase only one to get the $2 RR, can I purchase 2 items and get $4 RR?

      • Bobbie

I think you would have to do two transactions.

      • Wags deals are limit one per transaction

    • Bobbie

The Theraflu deal did not work at Wags for me today. Said the coupon in their booklet was for the powder. Will try another store tomorrow and see what happens.

      • Luana

Iwent to two different Walgreens for the Theraflu deal and it was not
working at either one. First store told me it was because I did not
purchase the Theraflu shown in the Healthy Booklet (Severe Cold and
Flu, I believe), well I exchanged it and it still would not work. She
said it was because the Healthy Coupon Booklet did not start until October 1. Told her I knew that wsn’t it as I had used it previously on the Triaminic (sp?). I asked her to take it off which she did not
        want to do and instead gave me the $4 off as if the coupon was working;
however, because of that, no register rewards. At the second store,
I asked them to scan the product that is shown in the picture to see
if it would work with that (in box, not bottle, and not on sale). Did
not work on that either. Had same trouble with razor but the manager
was super nice at second store and gave me a gift card when the Rr
did not print. Think it will be a frustrating week for the employees.

        • CA

I had a problem with the theraflu as well. I purchased two that were marked and 1 filler item (.19 pencil). I gave them the WAGS coupon and 2 manf. coupons, the WAGs coupon took off $4 (2×2 items) and then the computer accepted 1 manf. coupon but not the other and the cashier said something about only 1 of the same manf. coupon per transaction, even though I had two theraflu items. So I paid $2.89 for the three items, in which I didn’t need the filler item. Still a good deal but I am trying to figure out the whole WAG couponing. I love TARGET for using coupons. We just got our first CVS here (Tulsa, OK), so I need to figure it out because it seems to be easier. I’m just not sure all the cashiers will know all the policies since CVS is totally new here.

          • Misty

CVS is EZ…You will love them compared to Walgreens!!! I shop both, but CVS is a better run organization with much more consistency. They are also coupon friendly!

    • Amanda Kumher

At Walgreens today I used coupons and RR to pay for RR items and the new RR’s didn’t print! They told me that if you use any coupons in that transaction that no RR’s will print, they said that the Manufacturers are doing it. so in my mind I lost $10 :( Are all Walgreens doing this? And does anyone know why they are doing it now?
      Thanks

      • Lisa

I got the same response from the manager at my store this morning and he explained they are changing the policy as well. This was at the Marietta, GA store near Sprayberry High.

    • Melanie

Theraflu deal would not work for me either. My cashier said you couldn’t use the store coupon for an item that was already on sale. That doesn’t make any sense at all. I think she just didn’t know what else to say and I am too new at this to know what to tell her.

    • Sue

Thera-flu prints are gone, Robitussin excludes 2 ct. and Trident coupon is out of prints. I’ve never done the drugstore run and was going to try today. :( Guess not this week!

    • Well very frustrating outing at Wags today. Would only let me do one per RR deal. That is stupid. You could only buy one Herbal Ess. So a shampoo no conditioner! What a waste. So I tried to talk to the manager, and ask if we could call corporate, but they said all closed. So I only took 1 per RR deal. And was very nice about the whole thing, and the clerk even said so. Thanks for not being difficult, she said.
No need to get angry, yell, or pitch a fit. But I have left a comment on Wags website. We shall see what they do about this frustration.
Still a great weekend at Wags. I guess I will have to hit other stores throughout the week (also frustrating, but worth the trip for the deals). Thanks Jenny for your hard work!

    • Michelle

did we ever figure out if the starbucks frappucinos were on sale to use the $1.00 off Q with it?

    • Norma

I can’t get the trident coupon to print, will it print for anyone else right now?

      • Bobbie

I’ve tried two different times and it would not print.

      • kim

        I can’t get it either.

        • Darlene

I could not get it to print either….

    • Jennifer

Does anyone know of any other stores where I can use my Register Rewards?

      • Bobbie

Never tried but have heard Publix will take them? Going to try tomorrow. I do know in Birmingham that CVS has taken a $5. off Rite Aid coupon. I am really disgusted with Wags right now after today’s trip. Think it’s mostly the mgrs and not the sale personel. They were not prepared for the sale with merchandise in store at all. I did get a good deal that I think ended yesterday. Went in with 3)$1. c on sally hanson nail polish that was 40% off made it $1.37 each and got a RR for $5.00. Did several transactions with the 3 nail polishes and fillers using the $5. coupon each time. Some lady said she went to different stores but I only went to one. I know the sales lady and she was really nice about the whole thing.

      • Taryn

Publix in Charleston takes them with no problems. Technically, they are manufacturer’s, so Publix should still get reimbursed for them. They scan, so the cashier does not have to manually enter them as competitors. I don’t roll my RR at WG’s. I just do several transactions of multiple items, pay out of pocket, then use my RR at Publix.

      • Ashley

I just checked with my local CVS and they will take RR just like ECB. CVS is so much easier in my opinion, so it’s def. worth checking into.

    • Tarrah R.

There are no prints available for this campaign is the message I am now getting for the Theraflu. :( Also, for the Trident, says the campaign is over. Beggers can’t be choosers, I guess! :-)

    • Annamarie

Sounds like I got lucky today! It didn’t pan out the way it “should have” because the toothbrush wasn’t in stock and I didn’t go looking for the Robitussin. Also, I got a few “pricier” filler items because I wanted something I needed so once I got a BOGO on carmex and once I got a travel lotion and the other times I bought clearance erasers. :)

      #1-2 theraflu’s
used 1 manufacturer coupon and he scanned the store coupon twice. We didn’t think it worked the second time but low and behold the money came off so it did. :)
      $2.62

      #2 Razor and a 25cent eraser
used $4 coupon and $4 RR
      paid $1.96 oop

#3 Vaseline lotion and 3 erasers (it wouldn’t work with 2)
      used $6RR and $1.50 coupon
      paid $.84cents oop

#4 2 Halls Refresh, fresh effects chapstick, emergen-C and 2 carmex
      used 2 75cent coupons and $7 RR
      paid $2.35 oop

#5 Dentek floss and Herbal Essences mouse for curly hair (lots of that in my family!! LOL) filler was a travel lotion for my purse (99cents)
used $1 coupon each for floss and mouse and $3.50 RR
      paid $.94 oop

I still have $8 and a raincheck for the toothbrush and all of this stuff will be needed at some point this winter in a family our size.

OH and I had the time and wanted to get to know the store so I got an item, paid for it and went after another item. It was fun and I told them my plan, they didn’t care a bit!

      • Colleen

I’m hoping to try the plan too, but have had a few wrinkles arlready. Can’t find the Healthy savings coupons and we didn’t get the Halls coupons in our paper. My CVS plan worked out though. I’m sort of scared to try Walgreens with all the problems people have there! THe CVS people are so nice and very patient.

    • Carol

I had to go to another store to find the Healthy Coupon booklet for the Theraflu…once I located those coupons I returned the original purchase and had to educate the manager on why they owed me not just my OOP but also 3.00 I had used in coupons in the original purchase. Luckily they cooperated…I left Walgreens with $10 in RR and I bought everything in Jenny’s scenario’s….the only other problem was the Oral B toothbrush didnt return a register reward but management let me return the toothbrush get back my 3.00 and then told me to just keep the toothbrush! I promptly followed up with a CVS trip next…all told I spent $29.00 dollars this morning and I had $133.26 in merchandise from both CVS and Walgreens….I took my first picture of my collection too!….Great fun and great savings on stuff I definately will use.

      • Amy

        had the exact toothbrush experience

        • Carol

I think i read something earlier where the Oral B is a P&G item and that may have been part of the problem combined with using another P&G RR to purchase it, but the manager rang the item up by itself just to test it and still no RR printed so I don’t know what the issue may have been.

    • KATE HUBER

I had problems this morning trying to buy the Gillette Fusion Razor using the RR from Vaseline. The RR from the Razor did not print1 Any ideas why this happened???

      • big john

my wife just had same problem but it did print out something talking about it. not sure what yet but gave number and sorry waiting for her to come home and see info. anyone else have answers yet?

        • nicole

you probaly just bought the wrong razor. I used the razor rr to buy the vaseline and it worked fine so vice versa should have worked.

    • amy

I live in greenville, south carolina. I was wondering if anyone else is missing alot of the coupons from the redplum and smartsource inserts. I bought 8 papers and each redplum and smartsource was missing the same items. Example.. Halls and halls refresh. little debbie.. mrs. smiths bakery product… hot pockets..etc. Just wondering what happened??

      • Barry

My SS was missing the Halls coupons. I live in Louisville, KY.

        • Bobbie

The Birmingham coupons did not have one either.

      • Nashville Tennessean didn’t get any of those q’s either.

      • jennifer

amy i live in spartanburg,sc and had the same issues with coupons had the most junk paper to though away in the red plum coupon i bought eight papers too!!!!!

    • KH4UT

Are you able to use a coupon and still get the Register Rewards at Walgreens?

      • Bobbie

        Yes, I did just today.

        • Bobbie

It’s when you start using RR with coupons that it gets tricky.

          • julie

I was so frustrated at Walgreen’s today. They wouldnt let me use a coupon and a RR both on a product. Can you explain this to me–how I need to work their system and spend as little as possible. Thanks.

    • amy

I forgot to mention that I printed out the coupon inserts yesterday that told you what coupons were going to be in the paper.

      • Carol

Must be a regional thing Amy as I bought my paper in Easley and the same coupons are missing for the same items…we got short changed this week.

        • amy

Carol, thanks for letting me know. I was very disappointed when I saw it was missing all of those coupons. Thanks again for letting me know.

    • shelly

I went to Walgreens using the scenerios listed. I had to start with #2 bc I did not have the coupons for the 1st scenerio. I knew that my out of pocket would be 4.99 plus tax if I used the manf. coupon for $4 off and I should get a $6 RR.(Gillete Fusion Razor) The $6 RR did not print. Cashier called manager and she said that since I used a manf. coupon the RR would not print. Anyone else have this problem or can you offer some advice.

      • becca

yes. that’s what happened to me too. the manager said the computer will not actually pay you to buy their item. so since the q was $4 off and not like $1 or $2 it would not print a RR. the managers and the cashier were very nice but it was still frustrating.

        • Carol

NoI am not a Walgreens expert but the managers explanation is incorrect. The manufacturer coupon in spite of the amount has no bearing on the printing of an RR as far as I know. I would return the item and double check that you purchased the correct item and try it again. It’s frustrating when you first start learning the stores system and then later discover how it’s supposed to work and learn that the employees just make up something that sounds plausible just to have an excuse for something they themselves don’t understand…after you do these things for a while you know more than most of the employees about coupons and it can drive you crazy sometimes if you let it.

          • Amanda Kumher

I was told that it is a very new policy that if you use a manu. coupon you will no longer get any RR’s!

            • Not at my store. I did 29 transactions today, used all mq’s and rolled rr’s and every single rr printed (except the one OralB tb, which was a catalina error country-wide).
              {and no, I didn’t shelf-clear anything}

      • Barry

It definitely should have printed. Are you sure you purchased the correct item? It has to be a Gillette Fusion “MVP” razor, either the power(which has a small duracell battery in the packaging) or the manual.

      • KH4UT

I had the same problem. First time I’ve been! I used all the coupons and not a single RR printed and was told at 2 different stores that they would not honor the coupons and RR. It had to be one or the other. Thought I was doing exactly as suggested.

        • Angel

I’ve been twice this week – Summerville and N. Charleston. Used Qs and did multiple transactions and got MOST of the RRs with no problem. A couple of items they had to get creative with the system/pricing/whatever to get the RRs to print, but they happily did whatever it took to get me my RRs. I was very thankful. It’s frustrating when things don’t work like they should (which is often the case at Walgreens, unfortunately), but it is oh-so-nice when the cashiers and managers work with you to make it right. I left very happy.

    • Beth

Hey I went couponing for the first time today, and had a horrible experience at WALGREENS. The manager of the store would not allow me to use my RR to purchase an item that would give me more RR. His exact words to me were, “These coupons are so confusing…”, I then explained to him that WALGREEN’S should post that info somewhere. He then went on to say, “we can’t give you more rewards for a purchase than what you spent.” My scenario was i purchased the two theraflu products, used theie coupon and a manufacturing coupon. That purchase resulted in .60 cents to be paid and a RR for $4. I bought a gillete fusion razor, used a manufacturing coupon and the $4 RR and purchased a tooth brush so there would be no negative result and was told i would be ineligible to recieve the $6 RR, since I used the $4 RR toward that purchase. Needless to say I told him where to put the other items I had planned to purchase and how full of it he was.

      • Beth

I called the 1-800 Walgreen’s number and was told that an RR should print if you use a manufacturer’s coupon. They aren’t supposed to print if you use an RR no matter what it is for. The funny thing is I used a manufacturer’s coupon the other day and the RR didn’t print out, but when I used a RR in the next transaction an RR printed???? I’m expecting a call back. Hopefully, I’ll get the $6.99 RR.

    • Michelle

The theraflu coupon is saying there are no prints available for this campaign… a guess I was too late :-(

    • big john

ok on “gillette fusion razor” wife went in did not print rr.
They handed her a sheet of paper saying had to send in with reciept to get the reward. At the top of the sheet has We are sorry the coupon machine in this store is not yet available. Plerase use this form for a mail in request. We apologigize for the inconvenience.i am sending copy to jenny if she wants to post it.

      • nicole

did you make sure you bought the one with MVP on the side of it? Its new so they might not even had it on the shelf yet. I would just return it and try again. Mine was blue package with MVP on the left side and it printed out the 7rr. good luck

        • becca

          with the $4 off coupon?

          • nicole

yes. razor 8.99-$4Q=$4.99 oop or pay with rr then get $6rr back. Shake your money maker!!!

          • big john

yes used 4 dollar coupon. no does not say mvp going back tomorrow see if that is issue however the sheet we got doesnt mention mvp either but does mention gillette razor rr’s for the time period we are in

            • nicole

Again, just return the one you have and start over. Mine was blue with mvp down the side(some are orange also) I bet they are all gone by now so be CAREFUL!!They are a monthly rr so you have all month to stock up.

            • Yes, there are three different Fusion razors, the one that says “MVP” is the one you want that prints the rr. (I bought four today and they all printed). At two stores near me there are special displays for THIS razor in cosmetics on a shelf since this is a month-long deal. S, look for that special display.

    • nicole

I went in twice today once at 7 and again at 6 and did 8 transactions both times and they never batted an eye just said, “Wow” you really know what your doing. I said, I read alot of blogs so I cant take full credit for this.

    • Brandi

Jenny, can you offer any insight to the coupon/RR drama? Are there indeed new policies being handed down from the manufacturers limiting the use of coupons and RR? Is there anything that can be done about the big discrepancies between stores? Thanks!

    • Momof2 (Greer, SC)

I went in to Walgreens today on Pelham Rd & as soon as I walked in the door I saw a stand that had the halls cough drops on them. I picked up 2 bags just looking @ the different flavors & before I knew it “Super Cop Cashier” was all over me saying one per customer. I’m like Whoaaaa. Please be advised of the Crazy Cashier Police.

    • I went to one Walgreen’s in Cleveland, TN, this morning and purchased 1 herbal essence, 1 vaseline lotion and 1 chapstick. I used coupons for the herbal essence the lotion and also used a $10.00 register reward from last week. I was told I could only do that 1 transaction today at that store. I did try the same transaction later today at a different store and the RR would not print. I was refunded the money, all of the sales clerks seemed baffled. ?

      • D.W.

You cannot use the RR on the same item, you have to swap it all out, I buy 2 different groups and use the opposite rewards for the products. A little confusing but it works!! If you get the rules figured out you can do real good at Walgreens!! Good Luck!!

    • lisa

My RR for the Oral B toothbrush didn’t print today. But they gave me a form to fill out to receive it by mail. No big deal.

    • Karen

Went to 5 different Walgreens in Sarasota. Did 2 or3 Transactions at each one, no problems. The only problems were with the Oral B Toothbrushes they are not in the corporate computer but the managers gave me cash or a gift card. The razors have to say MVP, one of my stores had the sale stickers on the wrong ones, that caused some confusion but had a great day and have 60 RR for tomorrow!!

    • lynn

Wow–things could not have been worse this morning at Walgreens. Not only was the the toothbrush RR not printing, but neither was the Dentek floss picks. The manager kept insisting it was because I used the manu Q, so she finally tried to manually print it and it would not work. They are so unfriendly at my locations. I have tried to shop there for over a month, but it is just not worth ALL of the effort when CVS is completely effortless. Bye, bye Walgreens–you are too high maintainence!!!

      • Did you buy the right item? THere are packs of floss picks, something like 50 or 60, but it’s the small “BOX” style, 35 count, that is printing rr. Mine were hanging on a peg, not on a shelf.

        • Angel

Had the same problem today. Tried to buy a bag of Dentek picks. When the RR didn’t print we checked the ad and realized I had bought the wrong ones. (Tags on shelf were incorrect.) They didn’t have any more of the right ones (35 count). They let me return it right then, no problem, and gave me back my coupon. Will check another store later.

          • Misty

YOu can also get a detal floss roll. If you look at the ad I believe it says the pics or 55 yd roll. I bought the roll and the RR printed fine (not that I didn’t have other problems in the transaction…it is Wags afterall). ;-)

    • Barry

I’ll preface this by saying that I don’t normally do the drug stores but this was too good to pass up. I didn’t catch the Thermaflu coupons in time so I didn’t do as good as I could have but I feel I did good enough. Here goes:

      Transaction #1:
      (2) Thermaflu – $4/each
Used: Healthy Savings booklet coupon for $2 off/each(Had to have a manager override for this b/c the coupon in the booklet isn’t configured in the computer for the Thermaflu “Warming”)
      Total Due: $4.24
      Got Back: $4 RR

      Transaction #2:
      (1) Gillette Fusion Power Razor – $8.99(Something I’ll actually use…as opposed to all this other stuff for the wife!)
      (1) Icebreakers Gum – $.32 clearance item
Used: $4 off Gillette Fusion, $4 RR
      Total Due: $1.87
      Got Back: $6 RR

      Transaction #3:
      (1) Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion – $6.99(For my lovely wife)
      (2) Orbit Gum – $.32/each clearance item
Used: $1.50 off Vaseline Lotion, $6 RR
      Total Due: $.59
      Got Back: $7 RR

So, things were going smooth up until Transaction #4…in fact, the manager was having fun watching me take advantage of such a good sale, until I hit a speed bump. They didn’t have any Emergen-C! No big deal though b/c there is another store less than 2 miles away. So I hopped in my car and headed that way. They had the Emergen-C but no Toothbrushes so I substituted the Chapstick from Transaction 5 into that transaction(4) in hopes that the original store I went to would have the Toothbrushes for my fifth transaction. Add to that the fact that my RP didn’t have the Halls coupons necessary for Transaction 4. Complicated, I know. Nevertheless, with a little thought, it all worked out…

      Transaction #4:
      (1) Emergen-C – $3.49
      (1) ChapStick Fresh Effects – $2.99
      (1) Dawn Dish Soap – $.99
Used: $.25 off Dawn, $7 RR
      Total Due: $.67
Got Back: $3.50 RR, $3 RR

      Transaction #5
      (1) Oral-B Advantage 123 Toothbrush – $3(I managed to get the last one)
      (1) Herbal Essences Shampoo – $2.99
      (1) Robitussin DM To-go 2 Pack – $2.49
      (1) Dentek Floss Picks – $2.00
      (1) Orbit Gum – $.32 clearance item
Used: $.75 off Toothbrush, $1 off Herbal Essences, $1 off Dentek Floss, $3.50 RR, $3 RR
      Total Due: $2.20
Got Back: $3 RR, $3 RR, $2.50 RR, $2.00 RR

      Grand Total Due: $9.57
      Total Remaining RR: $9.50

So it cost me 7 cents tax and all for everything listed in the scenarios minus the Halls but plus the Dawn. My wife was so proud.

      • Holy cow. I would be very proud of my hubby if he took the time to do all this as well. GREAT JOB!

    • Carol

Ya know I think I have read every single comment on Wags today…seems it was feast or famine out there…i had an issue or two due to a store screw up (the oral b and theraflu) *but* it was my best outing ever for savings and RR’s…very weird in light of all the probs out there today. Although I agree with the posters who prefer CVS..it’s just way easier and yes i would have to say even effortless…For those that had the craziness in store that I have read about I would politely complain to someone above your store management. After all they tout this program and they need to know when it’s not working and when it’s costing them customers and in turn present and future dollars that would be spent by those customers. I mean I had a great day but even reading about these types of problems makes me think twice about bothering with Wags in the future.

    • People, Make Sure You Are Buying the RIGHT items before complaining to the managers/cashiers, or bashing Wags!! A large number of the complaints on here are because you have bought the wrong items.

      Double-check!!!

Dentek pick flosses are the small box-style, not large bags.
Fuzion razor is the MVP one, not the other ones.

OralB was a catalina error that Wags had no control over.

Please, PLEASE be nice to your stores! I know that ocassionally there’s a bad apple, (I have a store near me with one of “those” managers), but most of the cashiers/managers are just doing their jobs.

      • Ann

I agree. I have never shopped Wlagreens, but wanted to try since it was a great week. I did as Jenny suggested and asked an associate to explain their system. I showed her my list and my breakdown of transactions. She said everything should work as long as you purchase the right item. She even called the supervisior over, who stated she is a huge couponer (I told her to checkout this site). The associate rang up my order with the supervisor standing there so they could be sure everything worked. It was an awesome experience. I will defintely try them again.

    • Emily

Where can I find the Walgreens coupon policy to share with my local Wags? Last night a new manager told me that i could only use 1 RR per transaction. She was not rude about it at all and help me break everything down into individual transactions, but I really think that she was misinformed. Did this change?

    • Samantha White

I tried to use the printed coupons for Force Flex trash bags, and the Walgreen’s store coupon.

Cashier said Walgreen’s store coupon was a manufacturer’s coupon (although it did not say that on the coupon), and I had to buy a box of trash bags that matched the “PICTURE” on the coupon…regardless of what the coupon described i.e. brand, count, type.

There were none that matched the picture to be found, although I found some that matched the description on the coupon.

I feel so ANGRY at being jerked around like this. It was like the cashier was making up her own rules!

      • Misty

        She was 8-)

    • Crystal

Can you get a raincheck for items at Walgreens to include the register reward? They are always out of the good stuff when I go, and I wasn’t sure if a raincheck would show the price after RR. I know CVS does!

      • Momof2 (Greer, SC)

I think that you can get a rain check but the rr’s won’t be included.

        • Angel

Apparently it depends on the store manager. I went to three different Walgreens in the Charleston area last week trying to get the Formula 409 deal. One store said they don’t give rainchecks on items offering RR; another said they would write a raincheck but for the full price (2 for $5); and finally the third store wrote me a raincheck for what it cost after RR (2 for $3). Really bizarre – you’d think it would be a corporate policy, not up to the individual stores. As someone said earlier, get to know the cashiers and managers in the different stores in your area, and find ones willing to work with you. They’re out there!

    • Jeanne

FYI-The Wags at Delk Rd, Marietta, GA has reprogrammed the RR program. It will no longer print RRs if you use RRs to pay. This isn’t a deal breaker as I can use the RRs at Publix. So I returned the items and bought the items paying with cash and 4 coupons for 4 items. Still no RRs and yes I did purchase the right items. The store manager gave me a”rain check” for the full amount of the RRs which must be used all in on transaction exceeding $17… I suspect that the issue this time was the use of coupons. Not a very “rewarding” experience.

I went to CVS & was in and out in 15 minutes. Forgot to give them my $5 off $25 coupon – walked back in and the manager handed me 5 bucks cash.

A great deal of my shopping is to donate the items to a women’s shelter. If you know of a more RR & coupon friendly Wags in the area please leave me a reply. Thanks so much.

      • Syndi

Can all RR be used at Publix??? Do all Publix take Walgreens RR? I am new to couponing (just my 3rd week) and when my RR print they say Walgreens, so I am a little confused about useing RR at Publix. If someone could explain this I would appreciate this.. Thanks in advance.

        • Angel

Although RR say Walgreens on them, they are actually manufacturer coupons, as stated in the box at the top. All the Publix stores in my area (Charleston) accept RR, but I sometimes have to stop the cashier from keying it in as a competitor coupon. I simply tell them, “It will scan. It’s a manufacturer coupon – I just got it at Walgreens.” Have never had a problem using them at Publix. Hope this helps!

          • Susan

You said the Publix in Charleston take RR? Do you know about the Goose Creek Publix?

    • lynn

On the thera flu you have to make sure you have them scan the manf. coupons fist then the store coupons or the deal will not work i was able to do the deal 2xs that way with no out of pocket if tried the other way then the coupons will not go through as you planned good luck and happy ouponing

      • jon

I was at Walgreens today trying the Theraflu deal. The coupon in the healthy savings booklet would not ring up. The cashier (and even the manager) try to do it and it would not work. They didn’t know why. They tried it with fillers without fillers, manu q first, the only thing they could figure is that there was something wrong with the coupon code on the store q.

They could get my IP to scan, but the store q would not scan, or be typed in manually.

Should I try a different Walgreens, or is this a universal issue?

    • Kim

I just left Walgreens in Columbia very upset. I spent 30 minutes going through the store, picking out my items, another 10 minutes trying to figure out the best way to do my transactions starting with the 7.00 on RR rewards that I already had, spent another 5 minutes talking to the cashier about how I can use my coupons so I could get my transaction down to a buck (and get back 8) only to have none of the new RR’s print. The cashier told me that it was because I paid with RR’s(even though it was not for the same manufacturer). The manager said it was because the catalina machine was down. I had to spend another 30 minutes trying to get a refund. He couldn’t get the total correct since I used RR’s and coupons. When he finally gave me my refund, I then had to wait 10 minutes for the cashier to go back through her drawer to get me my coupons back. Needless to say I called corporate about this. I had done these transactions at this walgreens several times and never had a problem…this week…my goodness! I am not very happy with walgreens…glad to know that I can use my RRs at Publix!

      • Which Walgreens in Columbia did you go to, Kim? I went to the new one on Hard Scrabble Rd. yesterday morning and tried to use RR’s plus coupons to get the trash bags and lotion but the machine did not print my RR’s. So, I asked the manager and she said that the machine was “off line” since it was so early in the morning. Ha! It was the same time of morning that I always shop there (8:30am). So, I told her I wanted a refund and she refunded my money and gave me my coupons back. I haven’t attempted another Walgreen’s visit since yesterday as I’m afraid I may run into the same scenario. Has anyone been to this location or the one at Sandhills this week? I’m wondering if they’ve all reprogrammed their machines! I may have to just start using my RR’s at Publix.

        • Lynn

I went to the Wags on Two Notch/Rabon rd and it worked fine and they were very pleasant. I did the Sandhills last night and picked up the wrong Dentix sticks, so it didn’t print but it was my fault. But they are really nice too. The new one on Hardscrabble sometimes they are a little confused, but it’s a newer store with newer employees, so understandable. You have to admit the policy at wags can be confusing.

The best HORRIBLE experience a person could have…. I had at Walgreens this evening. The last couple of weeks I have followed the examples Jenny has given to a tee and they have not worked RR would not print, clerks were ugly, I even had a manager tell me coupons came out of her check. My sister and I agreed we would try one more time together. (better in numbers) So we went to Walgreens this evening. I made my first transaction Theraflu, no RR so I asked her to void it and I would try without coupons, she huffed and called manager. Another clerk walked up and said she would take us in cosmetics. My sister and I went over there Lisa (the clerk) said we want to know how this works also. So she and Cynthia (the manager) went through every transaction with us. As soon as we thought we had figured out why it wouldn’t work- it was my sister’s turn to do hers… We did things that corp. had told them about using RR and it still didn’t work. They ended up marking items down to compensate for RR, but said they really wanted to understand the program as they have had a large increase in couponers, and they feel stupid for not knowing why RR don’t print. They asked that My sister and I contact Corp. via the website and complain. I assured them I would and I felt like a lot of other couponers would too. Walgreens can’t explain thier own system to employees much less customers. So I am going to encourgae them to have a rewards program that works. I ask each of you who have problems to do the same thing. Some of the employees are as educated as Corp can give them and it still doesn’t work… Help them (the local folks) help us…. PLEASE PLEASE

      • caroline

good idea. Whoever comes up with the contact address for walgreen please print on this website. Maybe Jenny can put it in a general area of the the site for everyne to assess readily. Thanks

    • nicole

***Rolling**** the herbal essence rr is rolling,I went tonight and got 10 bottles. The razor should do the same. I love wagreens this week!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Carol

Ok, please explain “Rolling”…a still a newbie

      • kelli

yes, please explain… does this mean that you can use the $2 RR on the herbal essence and then get $2 RR back again? I’ve very new to Walgreens.

        • carol

Ok I googled and the way I understand “rolling” in this herbal essence deal is if the register reward does NOT state compliments of a particular manufacturer then it is likely a rolling reward which you can turn right around an use on the same product once again. I am going to test this at lunch lol

          • kelli

Awesome! Let me know how it works. I’m trying to plan out a Walgreens trip for tomorrow.

            • carol

I went to Wags at lunch and purchased the Herbal Essence…used a $1.00 off 1 coupon and received my $2.00 RR…then I handed the clerk the 2nd bottle and asked her to scan the $2 RR to make sure it worked and it did!..didn’t pay anything except for a filler on transaction number 2…this is a great week indeed. Will try the razors this evening

      • Scott

It rolled for me too. Got 4 bottles for free and 4 bottles for .99+tax

    • kelli

I’ve read through a lot of the comments on here and I’m trying really hard to learn about Walgreens. I can do amazing things at CVS with little to no thought at all but I’ve never had luck at Walgreens. I’ve only ever tried the RRs thing 3 times… The first time, they were out of the items that I wanted and I got a “raincheck” (which was just the cashier writing in the ad that they were out of the product). The second time they had the item that I wanted to buy but the cashier didn’t know what she was talking about – I asked her if I could buy 2 items in 2 transactions and use the RRs from the first on the second. She said yes, which was wrong (I don’t know if you can sometimes do this or not). So then I had to get a refund and rebuy the item with cash. I ended up with $8RRs (2 $4). I was sad when I realized that you only have 2 weeks to use them, unlike the month that you get at CVS. There was nothing that I wanted in the ad the next week, so I knew I’d have to use them 2 weeks later. I went to the store with a plan to make $4 and they didn’t have any of the items that I wanted. I ended up trying to buy something that I kind of wanted that was $10, just so that I didn’t lose the $8 in RRs… then I had to buy something else, because I had 2 $4RRs. I had no idea that you couldn’t use as many as you wanted, like CVS.

Sorry that this is kind of long and rambly. Basically, I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on what I could do to have a better trip. I plan on going to Walgreens tomorrow, I called and asked when they got a truck in. I couldn’t get over there on Sunday morning and I was sure that they wouldn’t have any of the “free” items left yesterday. The closest Walgreens to me is about 15 miles away (CVS is only 1 mile away), so going there is out of the way and I’ve been so frustrated with them in the past, I’m just not sure that it’s worth it.

I shop at the Christiansburg, VA store if there’s anyone on here that shops there too that could give me any specific tips. Thanks for any help!

    • Michelle

i’ll try this again…are the frapuccinos on sale at walgreens this week, making them free after the $1.00 off Q? anybody? jenny?

      • carol

I had the 1.00 off coupon and gave it to my son who bought one sunday and the price was 1.99

    • Jenna

I have a question about RRs. I know that you can’t use a RR for a product to buy the same product (at least not if you want to get the RRs). So I can’t use the $2RR from Herbal Essences to buy another bottle of Herbal Essences. But what if I had two $2RRs from buying it in two transactions–$4 total in RRs. Could I then use both of the Herbal Essence RRs to buy two other items in one transaction? Thanks!

      • Jenna

Ok I just read above that Herbal Essence is in fact rolling this week. But let’s just say for my question that I’m talking about something else that doesn’t roll. Thanks.

        • Monette

I’ve done so before. I think I used 4 RR’s from Exedrins in separate transactions to buy a little radio.

    • Beth

I just read all of the comments and must say I had the same problem at Walgreens a few minutes ago. I bought the Dentek Pic’s (90 pack but there was a label on the shelf saying you could get the $2 RR for that product) and the Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion. I had a coupon for each item and neither RR printed. The manager checked the shelf tag for the Dentek Pic’s and was able to print me an RR, but I had to ask 2 X’s about the lotion. He finally told me there is a known problem with RR’s printing for it and gave me a form to fill out and send in for the RR. I’m wondering if I can contact Walgreen’s by phone or website to get the RR instead of waiting 6-8 weeks like the form says?

    • Marina

Still having issues printing the Theraflu coupons. I googled the coupon and on their website it says “no longer available”. Anyone have this problem?

      • Tausha

Yeah, it’s gone….if you didn’t get them earlier, they are all out. :(

    • Alena

HELP!!! Can’t print Vaseline coupons!?!?!? has anyone else had this problem, it keeps saying that I’ve printed allowed ammount of coupons, when I can’t even print one, I’ve tried it on 2 computers, and still same problem!

    • Cassia

Just a heads up – I bought 3 Theraflu boxes (sinus and cold, cold and sore throat, and nightime sever cold and cough) and ended up getting $8 RR. That was nice since I wasn’t able to get the printable coupon before it was gone, nor was I able to find the health savings booklet (the pharmacy said it was up front, the cashier up front said I was talking about the October coupon booklet…). So I didn’t have any coupons for the Theraflu. I don’t know if that made the RR amount higher or if it was the combination I chose or if it was simply the three… but I thought I’d pass that along in case someone else could use it. :)

      • Carol

The Theraflu is printing an $8 RR if you buy 3. As far as the $2.00 off store coupon (Healthy Savings booklet), you just gotta get lucky it seems. I went to a store sunday and they didnt have any but found another Wags up the street that did and was in Wags tonite and their store also had plenty back in the pharmacy.

Tonight when I was there the Oral B probs have been fixed and there was no problem using the booklet coupons on Theraflu either. The Herbal Essense is rolling ****and*** so is the Gillette Razors (both the Fusion for men and the Embrace or Spa Breeze for women)…needless to say there were not many left but I managed to get several and plan to be there Friday after their big truck comes in…You can definately stock up on shampoos, conditioners and razors this week and pay minimal out of pocket..I bought 3 Theraflu, 4 Herbal Essence, 2 Spa Breeze razors and 1 Vasoline Intensive Care tonight and was out of pocket about $5.60…

        • KAREN

do you know if there are a set # of theraflu or vaseline coupons to print? i keep getting a msg that there are no coupons for this campaign.

          • Cassia

Yeah, I think the printable coupons are gone. Too popular. :)

        • Emily

          What do you mean “rolling?”

    • Erie

How do you know what RR will print when you purchase an item??? I’ve asked the cashiers at 2 diff stores, and they haven’t a clue. I’ve been trying to figure out how in the world to shop at Walgreens, and I’m wasting ALOT of money while trying. The last time I went, I just had the cashier cancel out my entire order…it just wasn’t worth it. Please Help!

      • Carol

If I understand your question correctly the items that have a RR are noted in the circular (with the amount that RR will print) for one. Also on this site at the top of this page is a listing of those items with RR’s. In addition the shelf tags are red and white and show a price and then a deduction (like -$6.00) and then a final price similar to this: $8.99 – $6.00 = $2.00…the clerk should definately be able to grab the sale flyer for the store on any given day and show you an example tho. Your best resources for the amount of any RR is going to be this site and the store ad and it’s great if you can find a friend who is familar with the program to go with you and kinda walk you through the process.

This site also has a “guide” to Walgreens RR program and you might want to read that as well….It’s not difficult but it is confusing at first but you will get it in no time.

    • Tegan

I tried the Theraflu deal today and the scanner wouldn’t take the $2 Wags coupon. I even tried to exchange the types I wanted to exactly match the ones in the picture and the scanner wouldn’t accept the coupon. The cashier finally manually keyed in the coupon value, all the while saying “free free free,” as if using coupons was a bad thing to do.

Although I was upset by the cashier’s attitude, I went on to buy Tilex cleaners because they were the main reason I went to Walgreens today. The cleaners are advertised as 2/$6 with $2RR after purchase. The cashier wouldn’t allow me to use an RR to buy the Tilex!! Since we’ve wasted so much time on fixing the Theraflu deal earlier, I didn’t want to argue and just paid her. This particular trip really upset me and I hope cashiers as well as managers are properly trained because the manager who came to “help” didn’t even know about the rules of using RR to pay for RR-generating items.

    • Gail

Please help! If the coupon says it is a manufacture’s coupon but only redeemable at Walgreens does this mean it is like a Walgreen in store coupon and I can use it with a manufacture coupon for a product or can I only use the coupon that says redeembale at Walgreens for the product? And if it is a true manufacturer’s coupon why can’t I redeem it anywhere else?

      Dazed and confused again!

    • joyce

ps…if you haven’t bought the trident yet, don’t! it’s 2/$1 after reg reward next week!

    • GG

I went to Walgreen’s on my lunch hour to get a Fusion razor (I had 1 coupon left for $4 off) the same store I went to yesterday mind you and did the same deal…….So I get up to the counter with my razor and I had bought 8 of the 4/$1 Halloween pencils and I tell her she will need to scan the coupon in the ad and she says no you are supposed to cut that out and give it to us that is a waste of our time. Well I really politely told her that the girl scanned it yesterday and she did it, then I gave her my RR (not from buying a Fusion razor)and my coupon for $4 off the razor and she got all out of sorts saying she would have to do a complete void cause I could not use the RR’s and the manu coupon. I told her I did yesterday and she said as of this morning we cannot so I had her take the razor off and I bought the pencils and I won’t be going to that store anymore, hope it’s not Walgreen wide policy. It was my thought that the RR’s were supposed to be just like money but only to be spent at Walgreen’s.

I just had the same problem…tried to use a coupon and RR on a transactiona and was told that I could not because they were both manf. coupons. I was under the impression that the RR were like ECB and were could be used like money at walgreens.

any one else have this happen?

    • I live 26 miles from 2 walgreens. I have one in Beaufort, SC. and one in Bluffton, S.C. I went to Bluffton Sunday after spending all this time getting coupons and RR together. I purchased the items with RR and did not receive any RR. The cashier told me I could not use RR on purchases and receive RR. They were busy so I did not back up the line to return the items. I will return them. I went to the walgreens in Beaufort today and they said there machine was down and gave me a form to send in. The manager made the comment that the RR are not worth the aggrivation. The employees at these stores are rude. I am a nice person and don’t abuse the coupons, or argue with them. I think they have lost my business.

Does anyone know of a Walgreens that will roll over the RR’s in Snellville, Ga?

    • Cindy

I know at Walgreens the RR are manufacturers coupons. If I pay with 2 RRs does that count at 2 coupons so that I would have to have 2 items since I am using 2 RRs that are coupons? Or do all RRs count as 1 manufacturer item?

I’m trying to figure out a scenerio for Walgreens & making sure I buy enough items when I use my coupons & RRs.

Thank you for your great website!!

Each RR counts as a coupon. So, if you are purchasing an item, and using a manufacturer coupon, and paying with a RR, then you actually are using 2 coupons, and will need to purchase 2 items. Have the clerk scan your RR, then man. coupon, then any store coupons you may have.

Free B1G1 Enfamil Premium w/Triple Health Guard Coupon for Walgreens. I got this coupon when I made a Walgreens purchase this week and hate to throw it out. I would love to give this coupon to someone who uses this formula. It says Manufacturer coupon but the value is up to $13.85 and I know some stores limit the “free” value on manufacturers coupons. Let me know if I can bless you with this coupon – I will be glad mail it to whomever responds first.

what is a filler item used for?

      • Veronica

A filler item is used to make sure you have the same total number of items as you have coupons. RR’s count as coupons.
