I’ve been hearing from many of you that some Walmart’s have a number of toys on clearance with 50-75% off red tag prices.

None of this is reflected online, but some brands that may be included are Hot Wheels, Barbie, Star Wars, Light Strike, and more.

It might not be worth a special trip as this probably varies from one location to another. But if you are heading to the store anyway, swing by that section and let us know if you spot any great deals!

It always makes me laugh that the “clearance” prices are not far off from the original prices, like the $14.96 toy, which was originally $14.96. LOL!! I have checked our clearance aisles and we are not lucky enough for our toys to actually have clearance prices.

Walmart does not understand the definition of clearance…ie to CLEAR out and away!! They wont hardly ever budge off of its regular price. That is why they have a shelf of “clearance toys ” sitting there for months and months after Christmas.

They are only allowed a certain amount of money to reduce prices on items, so often times they aren’t actually allowed to reduce prices on “hot” items by more than a few dollars (depending on how many of the items they have in stock). It sucks but there is a reason. Also, more than likely the stores with the worst toys mark downs have other (bigger) toy stores in the town and are better with deals in other areas (i.e. clothing or cosmetics).

Targets clearance prices are atleast 25% lower.

walmart is a joke on the prices..wish there was such a thing as 75% off toys(other than seasonal).

    • Ya, same here – the “clearance prices” are only a few bucks off the original price. I do much better at the 2x a year Target toy clearance!!!

The best clearance toys are at heb… ive gotten several toys at like 90% off…. funderful brand toys reg 10 for 2.50….fisher price zoo animal that came with book for 2.99… the best one was the batmobile with the spinning top like 28 at target and walmart…only 8 dollars.

Kmart has a lot of toys on clearance right now, and they are giving an extra 50% off already reduced prices. I found a Fairy barbie for $8 and a firetruck Bigboots toy for $12

At my Walmart, a bunch of $20 toys were marked down to $2!! No complaints here. Some toys weren’t marked down at all, so I spoke to an associate about it who explained to me that customers will pick up a regular priced item then leave it on the clearance aisle when they find a better priced one, so a lot of things just get put in the wrong places. Also, if you pick up one that you don’t think is ‘clearance priced,’ just ask the associate near by. I’ve done that b4 and they just pulled out their little scanner and marked a slip n slide down to $3.50!

walmart in ellijay, ga was random. you might walk in one day & they’d announce over the speakers. “for the next hour, all clearance is half off the lowest marked price.” i stocked up on bday & xmas toys that way many a time. sometimes it would be a weekend sale, instead of an hour sale.
