If you are looking for an X-Box, you can get a great deal on Walmart.com right now!!

Buy the Xbox 360 Arcade Console for $149 and you will receive a $50 gift card,

That makes the Xbox 360 $99!

This is a phenomenally low price and will only be active as long as supplies last, so head over to Walmart (yes, I said it) and see if you can pick one up!

Make sure to not select any games or add-ons if you want this price.  One note, they did just release a new high-falutin’ model which is probably why the great deal here.  Still plays the same games though…

Wow that is a great price! Our Xbox died last month and we bought a new one for just under $200. This makes me wish that we had waited just a couple of weeks!

This is not a good console if you're going to play online. There isn't enough memory for downloadable maps, etc. that are used in online gaming…great if you're just going to play locally, though. <><

      • keb2009

poppycock. there is more then enough room with a simple 20gb harddrive addition. and those can be had for dirt cheap these days.

        • Christy Turner

wow…that's rude…I am speaking from experience. I guess the word “addition” is the key…”As-Is” this isn't good for online gaming and downloading and 20 gb isn't suffiicient. When we added a 100Gb hard drive, it fixed the problem, but we could have bought one of those “high-falutin'” ones for what we ended up spending on it.

          • keb2009

if you are just using the Hard Drive for game saves or add-on's, the 20gb will hold A LOT. But if you're jumping on the XBOX Originals bandwagon and downloading full DVD size games and demos from XBL then you will quickly run out.

hehehe “high-falutin' ” totally just made me LOL !!!! ;o)

This is not a good system they only last two years than you will hard a hardware trouble 3 red lights. Get the new system that has a bigger hard drive of 250 and even come with wi-fi so you can play online. Before you had to buy wi-fi separate which was 50 bucks or more. the new system is also ready for the new Kinect by the way !!!

yet another uninformed reader. not ALL of them have a 2 year life span. actually most of them are completely fixed from the current RROD. i've seen plenty of people that have the original launch system from almost 5 years ago. if you take care of it properly (keep dust out of it and make sure there is plenty of cooling) you will have no problems. as far as wifi, yes this basic system lacks it. but for most online gaming isn't necessary. and for $149 with a $50 gift card you can't expect the world!

I had 3 of them by the way they all failed within 2 year time :) last was i got last summer. too many are still failing in a short time period. So that why I buy a new one and not the old system. Many games are played online today and more are coming with all the news from e3.

Just Google and you will see 3 light is a still problem. Many articles come up. As of April 2010 they still have a failure rate of 30 percent within 2 years.

If this was not a problem Microsoft would not still be taking a charge for free repairs on them.

Unfortunately you have to order online. Then there's NO ship to store. AND most of all the gift card is actually a E-gift card which means you can only purchase online with your $50.00 :-( grrrrr

    • I was wonderin' how to spell “falutin'”…now I know! :-)

My son got the Elite for Christmas and my husband enjoys it as well. My kids decided that as a Father's Day gift he wanted to give his daddy his own XBOX. My husbands brother has an extra hard drive which makes this a great deal for us. I just picked it up at my local Wal-Mart here in GA for $149 and I also received the fifty dollar gift card! I did call before I headed out, and as of yesterday the prices were lowered in the store.

I went straight to Walmart to get it after seeing this! The woman in the electronics department kept insisting there was no such deal. I practically had to beg her to scan it for me and see. I told her I'd heard about the deal from a very reliable source! She finally scanned it for me and it was just as you'd said, Jenny! Thanks once again!!

      • DawnCDP

It says on Walmart.com that it was only an online deal, that might be why.

    • ksmith29745

Got online and purchased as soon as i saw this!

    • ksmith29745

and used my $50 online gift card to purchase the a wireless controller and charger. Only had to pay a little over $9 difference!
