is this only for new customers?

    • beth

Please note if you do this it is for 3 SIGNATURE transactions in order to get the $121, so instead of using the card as a debit card, after you slide it, press “credit”, then you’ll have to sign for the transaction.

      • Tiffany

Thanks for the info Beth – I have a question about that. Would those transactions still show up as debit-type transactions out of your checking account, or would they actually get billed onto the credit account and come through in the credit statement?

        • Barry

No. They will come out of the checking account. The credit line is only for overdraft protection.

    • Michelle in Martinez

Does the checking account have any monthly fees associated with it (or other kinds of fees)?

    • Maranda

How much is the initial deposit?

      • Tina

        I did it w/only $15.

      • meg

        I only dep’d $5

    • Carrie

I get January 16th as being the 50th day/payday ($121 cash deposit to my account) from today. I started counting Sat. Nov 28th as day one. And from what I read it said there was no set deposit amount for opening an account, so I set mine pretty low since that’s all I can do right now. But I am a little apprehensive of all of this and time will tell if this is a good venture or not. I pay the majority of my bills electronically and since this seems to be based totally on the electronic end, I will give it a shot. :) Thanks for the tip on the deal Jenny!

I don’t have ING Direct, but I’ve had more than one online checking account the last few years. I keep the majority of my “spending money” in there, since it collects fairly decent interest compared to our regular checking account. I’ve never had any trouble with moving money from my local bank to the online bank or vice versa.

    • Ashleigh

The offer is for new and old customers alike. I’ve had an account for over 4 years, and they said I qualify too.

    • Donna

THANKS JENNY-You made me $241 in abut 20 minutes. I opened an account for me and my husband! Their promo worked for them because we will probably switch our bank activity to ING! (as opposed to just doing this for the $121.

    • erin

They have extended this offer past 11/27.

    • Kristen

Was this deal only available on 11/27? Does anyone know if I can still sign up for it?

    • Amy

This almost seems too good to be true. It makes me a little nervous. Can anyone tell me if you have DONE this before and actually received the money? Are checking accts like this one safe?

    • Kara

I just opend an account but did not receive any type of verification that they were going to deposit $121 into my account. I did use the EOSAVE code. Is there any way to verify this??

      • Me too! I was thinking it would tell me like, the terms to get it. I did enter “EOSAVE”- so should’ve worked, right? I’m going to try and make it my “grocery money” acct and therefore put almost my whole Dec grocery budget into it….here’s hoping!!!!!

    • holly61

You can only open an account if you are able to get an overdraft protection line of credit. And according to the ING website you cannot have an account with them if you are not approved for the line of credit. This is not right.

      • Carrie

I think they look at this from a practical perspective. We’re in a very bad economy. I sign up (just for the purpose of their claim to offer $121) but they also have me choose the draft/line of protection amount and I could have chosen zero as amount. But they view this as a potential gain knowing the majority who sign up and realize they have a line of credit will use that line of credit with Christmas around the corner. Hence the interest gained from lending is making them money and they for the majority will make every bit of their $121 back from the people who pay back interest over time. Pretty smart move on their part. Those who buy into this deal need to do it as a long-term investment and not use the line of credit.

        • holly61

Thanks Carrie. I didn’t really need the lesson. I understand why they do it.

          • J4cksonsMomm4

wow. I mean, wow. Seriously? You owe Carrie an apology, and yes you do need THAT lesson.

            • No, I don’t owe an apology. I was simply stating a fact regarding the offer and my experience with it, just like anyone else. Thanks though.

    • Ashley

FYI Applying for this type of thing just to get the money makes your credit score go down.

    • Rose

Doesn’t look like it’s still available.

    • Krista

      Is this offer still available?

    • thanks for post. Im happy atm i won $124 on cashlot.co.uk today :D
