    • katie

anybody having problems with smart source today or is it just me?

      • Erin

I had trouble when I linked to it from this site….when I typed the address, http://www.smartsource.com into the address bar, everything seemed to work just fine. Hope this helps.

        • katie

          thanks erin appreciate it

        • Carrie

Sorry for my late reply, but with smartsource I even need to close my email client to get java to run the program. No other printing site is this sensitive for me.

    • Melissa

I agree with Susan above. As a newbie, you have made the seemingly impossible achievable and easier than I could have imagined. I know I could not be getting the savings I’m getting without SouthernSavers.com. Thank you for your commitment.

    • Foxfunds

Thanks again Jenny!! And ditto what Susan said – a blessing in disguise. I hope your visit to our fair city of Chattanooga is a great one – I know you are a shining beacon of hope that we can all make it through these tough times.

On to some not so serious business…

Someone enlighten me – what is “Big Red” and “Big Blue”??? LOL

      • Trace

Yes, thank you Jenny! Your website helps me so much, I love it!

Foxfunds – Big Red is gum. I’m assuming Big Blue is too :).

      • kristin

        Big red is soda!

      • Mel

Big Red is soda, very sweet, tastes like bubble gum to me. I don’t know what Big Blue is, never heard of that.

    • You are the greatest, thanks for the coupon insert info!!

    • Bethany

Does anyone know where I can get a paper in CHattanooga larger than the Times Free Press? I’m getting really irritated with their lack of coupons, but I can’t find a bigger paper.

      • Margy

Bethany, it only seems to be getting worse…today’s Red Plum had a grand total of THREE coupons in the whole insert!

I’ve managed to get in-laws to send me inserts sometimes from a larger city, and currently some friends and I are ordering inserts online from a coupon clipper…or try ebay. There is not much else we can do!

    • Christy

THANKS for your hard work!! It is much appreciated!! :)

    • Felicia

So, I am just getting into this and for this weeks Publix ad some of the coupons it refers to here expired yesterday,is it the policy that they will take these or is store mgr’s discretion?

    • Susan

I sometimes get the inserts early and wanted to say that I saw an ad in the upcoming Smart Source for Playboy magazine! I was furious! If anyone else is angry about this too, I would suggest that we call the number listed on the outside and complain.

      • Marge

Well isn’t that weird? Just who is the audience they’re trying to target?

      • Honey

Yuck-lets let them know we are NOT interested…

      • MDawn

I have MANY times been upset with the advertising on the coupons. Once I actually had to hide a shaving ad while my kids were helping me cut! Makes me furious!!

    • Sue

Just picked up 2 Greenville News in Bi-Lo in Clinton, SC. I did not look through them before I bought them. When I got home, 20 miles away, I realized that they only had Red Plum inserts. Could someone tell me if this is normal. I thought maybe Bi-Lo gets an early run of the paper and maybe SS is not in it. I normally buy them from a convenience store, but since I needed a couple of things, I decided to just get them at the same time. When I do my survey, I plan to menton this.

      • Amanda

I got my paper at Bi-lo too and I had the SS insert, but not a full insert for RP as Jenny listed. I only had the coupons for the cat and dog food. I live in Columbia, SC.

    • Michelle

I live in south Florida and after purchasing two papers today I got home and realized neither one of them inserts this week. Is anyone else missing inserts?

      • PrettyOpal

I’m in South Florida as well. I bought two St. Petersburg Times today and no SS inserts in either of them. I went back to the store and checked the stack and none of the papers had the SS insert, just the Red Plum. The same thing happened last week…the St. Petersburg Times had the PG insert but no SS. I’d really like to know what’s going on. Anyone here have any idea or any suggestions on how to find out?

        • Tiffani

According to a couple sources on a site that I read (as well as my street vendor in Tampa), the St. Pete Times will no longer have the Smart Source….b/c the contract is up.

Today (like last week), I purchased the Tampa Tribune from the vendor. It has/had both inserts. HTH.

          • Danielle Rasmussen

I bought 2 of the St. Pete Times from Walgreens and had smart source inserts no red plum. My daughter bought a paper don’t know where (st Pete Times and got both). danielle

      • kelvin

I picked up two Lakeland Ledgers and when I got home I didn’t see any insert this week, no Red Plum and no SS. Anyone has the same experience here in Central FL?

      • I live in Birmingham, and my paper had LAST WEEK’S ads and coupons.

    • Marclee

I live in Greenville, SC…Is the Greenville News the best paper to pick up on Sundays? That is what I have been getting, but is there a bigger one such as The State that I should get instead?

    • Donna

Did anybody in the Augusta area get the Knox coupon in the Augusta Chronicle? I was so upset to find that we did not get it!! The inserts are very unpredictable, and we cannot get the AJC here. Man, I hope there is going to be a printable version of the Knox coupon later! I’m wondering if maybe the people in the actual city of Augusta get more coupons than those of us who live in surrounding counties. I know for sure they get a better Black Friday paper. I’d love to hear from someone there, so maybe I could try to get the in-town paper. Thanks!

      • Amanda

I was missing ALOT of stuff from mine in the Chronicle. I had the 2 inserts but like half the coupons she listed. Did you see the Pert coupon? MAN! my Walgreens trip is all messed up for tomorrow!

      • Donna, I got the Knox coupon in my Bham news. Once I get some more inserts from my mom and everyone else who saves them for me, you can have them all if you want them. Email me at smorgasbordofsavings@gmail.com.

        • Donna

Bear, that is so sweet and I will certainly email you! I have really wanted to try the Knox for Nails product that Publix has on sale for $5.99. I would love to have one of your coupons, but you should keep some for yourself as I have read other people use this coupon as a moneymaker for other Knox products. I would hate for you to miss out on that. Good for you for having friends and family willing to pass on their coupons! And thank you so much–your generosity has made my day!

    • Marcia

When I go shopping & have my teens with me, I have them each go their own direction (to avoid the “mama, can I have or can we get’s?”) to collent 3 blinkies from each dispencer and then they bring them to me when we are done. They also collect from tear pads. This has helped ALOT. Now when we meet for our coupon group each month, I have a little extra to share with others who may not had been able to get them.

I know that the blinkies that are out now will usually have those products go on sale in about 2-3 weeks if they aren’t on sale at that time. So, I have a few Red Barron $1 blinkies for this great sale. Ya hoo!!!
I love this site and all of the coaching that everyone offers.

    • I was oot so had hubby pick up my 4 paperd.i checked my inserts with what sothern savers had printed.i rec’d 2 inserts but was missing 3 cpns out of SS and 15 cpns out of the red plum insert. This is discouaging. We get the biggest paper Raleigh puts out so all should be included according to sites list.
i’m in the garner area and it has been several times we had papers where inserts have been removed,in fact i saw one stripped of it’s inserts at Foodlion a couple of weeks ago and thrown onto a aisle shelf. This is costly to us a couponers and sad to know that there are some who do this.
Also, our stores rarely have tear pads or blinkies .How do we get reps to have these placed in our stores.
The cheapest place to find papers is Walgreens (.60 cent savings) for those who need to find some mid-day Sunday.Foodlion always has new bundles still tied at the cash registers.Info in case you can’t find a paper,

    • For a limited time, to celebrate their 25th anniversary, CiCi’s is offering buffet meals for only $3.99. The offer ends on Feb. 28th. Check with your store before ordering to make sure they are participating.
