This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, get 20% off all over the counter medicine at Rite Aid!  I got word of this from Rite Aid directly and the email did say it was off all “regular priced” OTC medication.  That makes me a little hesitant to call this a deal, but if you guys find any great buys please leave a comment so the rest of us can know.

    • Michelle

Does anyone know if Prevacid is regular price at Rite Aid this week? If so, it might be a good time to buy it (with the 20% off) and submit the try me free rebate from last Sunday's paper.

      • freya336

I was thinking the same thing, about using my $10.00/1 coupon from the Prevacid web site and the 20% off from Rite Aid, and the rebate. I know it's not in their ad as being on sale, but I can't wait to go in tomorrow morning and find out for sure!

      • Kristy

according the RA online store.. it is 26.00 ( its says save 10%/ 3.00) So Im guessing its closer to 30$. But you could also use a 5/25 or a 5/20 to make the deal even better.

        • Kristy

Side Note.. The 26.99 price is for the 42 ct.

        • freya336

Good point… guess I'd better start watching some videos!

          • Kristy

So if my math is right.. 26.00 ( price on RA online) minus the $10 man q mins the $5 coupon. OOP 11.00 ( plus tax). Rebate 24.99.. Profit $13.

        • Kristy

Okay.. sorry for so many posts. But I just looked at the Value Videos and there is one for Prevaid 24 ($10 value). So this is what I am going to do.. 26.00- $5 ( 5/25 or 5/20)- $10 VV- $10 Man q. OOP $1.. Rebate 24.00.. Profit 23.00. I am going to buy some other stuff to make it less obvious that I paid so little for it. ( if anyone sees anything wrong..please let me know)

          • freya336

I believe the coupon on the Value Videos is a manufacturer coupon also, so you can only use one or the other.

It says on the rebate coupon, “Actual retail amount will equal purchase price minus $4.00, up to $25.99 not including tax.”

So I guess that means it costs $26.00 – $5.00 – $10.00 = $11.00 OOP and the rebate would be for $22.00, so profit 11.00. Still nothing to complain about!

You could do a couple of transactions (since you have two $10 coupons) and make more profit. Math is NOT my strong point, so don't quote me on any of this. lol

            • Kristy

ohh okay.. I haven't printed out the VV coupon yet so I didn't know. Yeah I think an $11 profit is still very good. Thank you for pointing that out!!

            • Heather

The video value coupons are Rite Aid coupons, so you can use one with a manufacturer coupon. I do it all the time! :)

            • freya336

I just checked again and both of my video value coupons start with 5 and say manufacturer coupon on them. Of course, it's not going to hurt to try… who knows? I might just get lucky tomorrow. ;)

            • RebeccaFer

Yes, they start with a 5 but they are still considered RA qs. They can be stacked.

            • freya336

That's great! I printed mine out and will be saving some money (and making some money) this morning. Thanks for the “heads up”!

            • crystalthecouponmomma

Is the Rebate with Rite Aid??

            • freya336

Yes, the rebate should work just fine with Rite Aid since it's a manufacturer deal. Good luck!

            • Kristy

okay guys.. has anyone tried to get the Prevacid 24 with the VV and the man q? I need to go to RA this weekend to pick up a rain check and this weeks deals so I thought about picking it up if anyone has tried it! Let me know! Thanks

            • freya336

I tried yesterday, but for whatever reason my RA coupon wouldn't scan and the woman said she couldn't put it in manually because it wasn't in color (meaning it could've been copied, but I guess they don't realize there are color copiers now, too).

Anyway, I went back today with the same RA coupon and the manager was ringing me up. It still wouldn't scan, but he put it in manually and I ended up using the $10 RA q and a $5/25 RA q and the $2 RA q (from the flyer) and it cost me $6.19 out of pocket.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but you could do it as two separate transactions and actually save more money.

      • Lara

Could you tell me where in your paper you found this? Thanks!

        • Anonymous

What paper do you get, Lara? I don’t know how to link here, but copy/paste this link for discussions on where everyone else was finding the coupon:

        • Bobbie

It was in the news section of the paper and not in the coupons. So you will have to look through the paper to find the coupon. It does say you have to use the $4.00 coupon or they will take the $4.00 off the purchase price.

        • Lara

Thanks for giving me some direction, but after searching several times through the newspaper (Augusta Chronicle) there wasn't one. I guess because it is a smaller paper? Does anyone have an extra? I can trade qs….

    • jengc

This could help on the rebate items that are not currently on sale. For instance $2.00 Rebate on Mucinex. I am pretty sure it isn't on sale (not 100%) but if the regular price was, lets say $4.00, then that would take off 80 cents, making the product $3.20 then taking $2 off it would make it $1.20 instead of $2! Well anyway, I guess we can go in with a list of rebates and see if there might be a deal somewhere :D

    • If you are like me and Zyrtec is the only allergy medicine that works well for you, you may want to buy that this weekend if you have already spent some money towards receiving a $10 gift certificate and can find a decent coupon because the Zyrtec Rewards for this period is going to end at the end of this month. Rite-Aid recently sent me a reminder that I have spent a little over $10 towards getting a certificate, so I at least plan on considering buying some more this weekend… though I do have a whole bottle left so I may not.

Sooooo, I discovered something new about Rite-Aid today. Well, it wasn’t exactly new since I have read the corporate coupon policy and have it in my papers but I just never noticed it before. While trying to do the Prevacid deal today, this point came up and ruined my scenario. “Rite Aid only accepts coupons printed off the internet from manufacturer’s websites, emails and coupon websites up to a maximum of $5.00 off per item as long as the coupon redemption amount never exceeds the price of the item.”

There is a $4 q on Coupons.com so I’m going to try that one tomorrow because they understandably couldn’t take the $10 ip with the $10 VV coupon. I did however get to use the $5 off $25, the $10 VV q and the $2 in-ad coupon which got me down to $7.xx after taxes. I’ll be able to submit the rebate and still make it a MM. :D

      • freya336

Wow… I've never read their coupon policy, and to be honest, I'm glad my Rite Aid hasn't read it, either. So sorry they burst your bubble. :( Good luck with the $4 q.

        • RebeccaFer

Thanks. Unfortunately even the $4 q beeped and they couldn't take it. I tried three different RA and they all have the same thing happening, no matter what order the qs are given. Apparently there was some email to them from upper management (local to Charlotte or further up the chain of command I'm not sure) that gave specifics about this deal and that the $10 q wasn't to be used with it. I'm just bummed that I can't get it for free but hey, I'm totally realistic that I'm still getting a great deal on something that I was just prescribed PLUS it's super expensive normally! :D Thanks again! :D

I used all my printed coupons and the store bargains and coupons with the prevacid, and still got the 20% off. They stacked and stacked and kept stacking coupons. I ended up paying $11 for two 42 count boxes of prevacid, 2 candles and 2 aussie products! Awesome!
