August Upromise eCoupons

Upromise has loaded new eCoupons. Go and load them now to have saved for the month!

These are a little different than the other e coupons for a few reasons:

  • You can use them at almost any store!
  • The money does not come off at the register but is put into your Upromise account.
  • Load as many coupons as you want, there is no limit.

Why use the Upromise e coupons?
Normally when you buy something that gives you money back for college it gives you .03 -.10 cents for the item. Using the e coupons you are increasing the amount significantly that you get back.

Can I use a coupon too?
Yes! These are not tied to coupons or discounts in the store. They are rewards from the manufacturer for using Upromise and buying their product.

I don’t have a kid…
Not a problem. We had a Upromise account for almost 2 years before our kids were born. Once we had kids we went in and changed the beneficiary from our names to our kids names. Grandparents can also sign up and have it go to their grandchildren! We have 3 sets of grandparents all saving a little bit for our kiddos. You can change the beneficiary at any time.

How much can you really save?
Well, you aren’t going to send them to Princeton just from your savings, but it can be a nice chunk of money by the time they get there. It depends on how much you remember to use their system. We have been a member for almost 6 years and have over $3000 saved. Since we have 3 kids this won’t go very far but it is $3000 that we didn’t have to dig up to save. (No it’s not all from e coupons, they just started the e coupon system last year.)

    • what a beautiful list.

    • new to these coupons…how do you redeem them at publix…they don’t have a shopper’s card…

      thanks so much!

    • Jenny

Go to Publix customer service and you can get a Upromise shoppers card just to get the money back from your trips. It is not required to get any in store deals but does let you earn Upromise while in Publix.

    • thanks Jenny!

    • Bobbie

Can someone please tell me if you use the same card at each store you trade at? Or do you have to have a different card?

    • Jenny

You will use whatever the store card is for that store. So these will load onto your Kroger Card or Bi-Lo card or CVS card.

    • Wendy

I’m so glad you posted this Jenny! I just spent over ONE HOUR today signing up for Upromise and trying to learn how it works- to no avail whatsoever! I actually sat down and typed you an email asking you for a tutorial, but chickened out of sending it since you already do so much for us! My area doesn’t have many stores that were listed, but I’ll check at the counter at Publix. Thanks!

    • Bobbie

Thanks for the info Jenny. I have so many cards and coupons to keep up with now and no one that I know of to use it unless a friends children or grandchildren?

    • Megan

You don’t have to use your Upromise money for college. They will cut you a check for the money instead of transferring it to a college savings account. They bury this info on the site, but we’ve gotten checks from them.

I was wondering, in order to use the UPromise coupons, don’t you have to use the UPromise Credit Card to make your purchase? Or can I get UPromise savings but use my regular credit card or even cash?
I almost signed up the other day but realized I had to apply for a UPromise credit card. The rules on the sign up website aren’t so clear.

    • @Caroline,
You do not need to use the Upromise credit card in order to redeem our eCoupons. Here is a very brief recap of what you would do:
      1. Sign-up for Upromise
      2. Register your participating grocery/drugstore loyalty card to your Upromise account.
      3. Select/activate the eCoupons you want so that they’ll be electronically “loaded” to your loyalty card.
      4. Scan your loyalty card at the register when you checkout. Your qualifying coupon savings will be credited to your Upromise account.

FYI, the Upromise credit card is not required to participate in the Upromise program. Without the card, you can still earn rewards via eCoupons, shopping online, dining out, etc. However, if you make all of your purchases with a Upromise credit card you should significantly accelerate your rewards b/c you’ll be earning a little extra on each purchase (both online & offline).

Hope this info clears things up a bit. Sorry for the confusion.
