Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

Here are the differences in the coupon inserts you received Sunday 5/1.

Click on the paper near you to see what coupons were actually in the inserts around the Southeast. Check out the differences to really get an idea of what paper is the best to buy.

A few ways to use these lists:

  1. If you see that you did not get a coupon that was released, you can go to online coupon sites and order it.
  2. Print the list for your area and keep it with your inserts to quickly know if you have that coupon.
  3. Use it as a way to decide what paper is the best paper in your area to buy.

A legend for the list:

Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert

Blue = A Change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.

As folks send me the lists I will update this page.

    • Regina

Do I need to go to the product maker's website to try to get missing coupons or to the insert source website?

      • armychica

Does anyone know if the Fayetteville Observer has the coupon inserts or do I have to go to Raleigh to get a news paper.. just moved to this area thanks!

        • Mello4413

Yes Fay Observer has coupon inserts on Sunday. and they pretty much match up with what southernsaver posts.

      • tygirl13

Coupons are usually distributed regionally due to various marketing strategies. To get a coupon that wasn't distributed in your area, your best bet is to go through a clipping service. There are tons of them out there. The ones I have heard of on southernsavers are couponsthingsbydede(dot)com and thecouponclippers(dot)com. HTH.

      NC: Asheville Citizen times.

    • Spraymom

I know this sounds dumb, but how do I see which coupons are in the Chattanooga paper? You can't click on it…..

      • crystal

I'm having the same problem with mine…why is it listed but I can't click on it??? HELP!!!!

        • Yazpistachio

These lists are created by volunteers each week. Some weeks there weren't any volunteers (my guess anyway), so there wasn't any list, and the link isn't active. . . someone correct me if I'm wrong.

        • guest

You can always HELP!!! yourself and do it yourself.

      • It's listed because there is a volunteer who has done it in the past but it hasn't been submitted yet. It will be blue when we get it in and loaded. If you haven't seen it in a few weeks we're always up for a new volunteer (it's pretty easy!) just email me jenny@southernsavers.com

    • Polley19

Anything on KY newspapers…..Lexington Herald Leader?

    • Charlene

Thank You!!!! I have looked and looked for a razor coupon that wasnt in there lol

    • Stephanie

If anyone wants the Atlanta Journal coupons list, you can email me pattcoupons at gmail dot com.

      • guest

THANK YOU for just doing it instead of posting a comment asking Jenny to do it.

    • Stephanie

If you want coupons or inserts email me pattcoupons at gmail dot com.

How about the Wilmington Star News??

      • Littlemommyshannon

Wilmington star news didnt get half tof these coupons im going to start getting the news and observer it seem to have pretty much the whole list.

        • Lotusblossom262

I got 2 Star News and a News & Observer last week at a gas station in Hampstead. The N&O had only 2 inserts and it costs $0.50 more.

    • Laura

Ugh, tried to get a newspaper on Sunday. The box closest to my house was broken (like always) so I went across the street to Rite Aid… They were out of papers. So then I went to 2 different HT, CVS, Walgreens, 3 gas stations, and Walmart… ALL SOLD OUT! It was barely noon. What the heck?! I usually don't get around to getting my paper till 6-7pm and I've never had a problem. Anyone else experience a paper shortage this last week. Or did it have something to do with no coupons on Mother's day so everyone felt they had to make up for the lost week?

      • Chrissys_coupons

Um, yeah, I did. Do you live in Central FL by any chance. Went to Walgreens and 2 gas stations. I stopped there because the guy at the last place said a woman had been in earlier who had gone to 10 different places and they were all out. So frustrating. So now I don't have any of the coupons from last week which is gonna drive me NUTS when I start seeing deals popping up using them. Grrr! LOL

        • Anonymousstargazer

Same thing happened in Raleigh NC.

      • Tigress1321

it because there were sooooo many inserts this past weekend I'm sure.

    • Nicole Atkins

Charleston WV – Daily Mail or Gazette

    • Jennihuntcoupons

I'm wondering about the Opelika-Auburn newspaper? Last weekend I only got 2 inserts.. Red Plum and P&G. I was disappointed.

    • Jill

Just wondering of the AJC actually had the Target insert and I missed it, or if it was never there to begin with?? I still have my papers in the recycle pile, so I could dig back through them if it was in there! :) Here's hoping, right…

      • Jennifer

The Target insert was in my home delivered paper but not in the paper purchased at Publix.

      • Jenn B

It was in my AJC that I purchased at Walmart, so you want to look again

    • Greandmah

Is there a Southern Savers type organization that serves northeastern Pennsylvania?

    • Lara Sue

Phyllis, We in Nashville miss you!

    • Katkoupon

Jenny, I sent The Sun News, MB insert list, twice, did you get it? You might be super-busy, but if you didn't get it please let me know, and I will resend. Thanks!

    • Crystal Reynolds98

How do you get this information before hand? Where should I look in my area? I'm up in Kansas City

    • Tera

Oh no! There's no list for the Gainesville Sun! Do you think you will get it updated?

      • guest

As you see by the thank you's next to the newspaper name someone from the area helps her out with these updates. With all that she does, at no cost to us, maybe you could help out.

    • Jeannecarp12

      please correct nutley, nj 07110

    • Realbecca

What do I do if iwas missing an insert?

    • @ Leah for Tallahassee Democrat. I think I may have received a different Redplum insert this week. The coupons highlighted in red were the ones I received. Leaving out a massive amount of coupons. Have you heard this from anyone else in our area?

      • BHutchFSU

@Shawn – I think you're right. I just went looking for the Purex coupon, but its not in there.

    • (sorry, don't know why this posted as a new post instead of a reply, armychica)

The Fayetteville Observer does have coupon inserts. They often don't have all the coupons listed by Jenny, though. The Raleigh and Charlotte papers have more complete inserts (sometimes even the 3-day-a-week Moore county newspaper The Pilot has better coupons!) There's no reason to go all the way to Raleigh, though, as you shouldn't have any trouble finding paper boxes. Maybe even home delivery of the Raleigh N&O; I'm not sure on that as I haven't lived down there in a while.

      • Miss Tiffany

It is common to be able to subscribe to
any newspaper in your state and get home delivery! When I worked as a papergirl for the Houston Chronicle it was in an area about two hours away from Houston. We also contracted to deliver the Wall Street Journal.

Also, newspapers are bought in bulk and there are usually hundreds left over after they have all been rolled (it made the environmentalist in me twitch but I was broke and so I sold out for $800 a month ;). ). Tip your paperboy well, send in a personalized note when renewal time comes around, and then ask if you can have some of the extra inserts! They probably won't mind. Remember, this is some one who comes to your house 364 days a year while you are sleeping, he notices your work in the garden, new cars, the arrival of new children's toys as the kids grow-up, the proud sign proclaiming Timmy's involvement in the school band… you have a closer relationship than you think!

        • For several years after we moved here, it wasn't even possible to get home delivery in our area of the county from The Pilot which was produced and printed here *in* Moore county. (As of last year they print it in Raleigh and truck it down here. :( ) Now I get The Pilot and Fayetteville Observer.
