    • Lisa

Yeah, I can’t wait! Thank you so much for all your hard work!

    • emily

i have a question about getting started at cvs….
When jenny starts her scenarios list this week, she starts with 5 ECB’s from last week. If i dont have ECB’s yet, would my total for the 1st transaction just be 5.87 instead of .87, but i would be able to complete the rest from there? I have waited to jump on the cvs train bc i was waiting for a good week!

      • Jodi

Yes, that would be right…well including the tax rate as well.
I spent my 5.98ECB’s from last week on pop and some cards…so I am starting off from scratch this week. Still a great deal over all.
I am going to tack on some pampers and baby lotion/wash at the end, so I will be once again, spending all my ECB’s.

        Thanks again!

      • Kim

If you are just starting, remember that Jenny’s totals don’t include tax and at my CVS – the ECBs can’t be used to pay the tax. At first I wasn’t prepared for that and got frustrated. If you think about that ahead of time, you will be fine. Have fun!

    • Donna

Jenny, you can print a $3 coupon at Thermacare.com. I used it last week at Publix with a Winter coupon book Q. The Publix Q is $5 off a pkg of Thermacare and a 32-count pkg of Advil. Combine with $1 Advil coupon. The CVS deal might come out better, though, if you don’t need the Advil.

      • Emily

The $3 q is off a 2 ct. package or larger, so it won’t work. However, there is a $1 q on the Wyeth website good on any size, and you can print as many as you would like!

        • Mandy
        • Erin

You can print as many as you like, but they do have a security code at the bottom, so maybe there’s supposed to be a limit? My security code is 1576718182. Is anyone else’s different?

          • morgan

Mine is different. Ends in 5940. I would imagine that’s the same concept as the pin# you find on other printable coupons. Having said that, I will only use one.

            • Kim

I was able to print 2 – before I hit the wrong button – and they each have a different security code.

          • weslie

I was able to get 5, each with a different security code. You just have to re-enter your information in the previous screen but it didn’t seem to limit the number of times you could fill it out to get a new coupon. :)

            • Bobbie

Mine all has the same security code.

            • Amy

Mine are not showing a security code at all..and I even tried to re-submit my information to see if it would show up.

          • I just printed out five with the same code and it worked just fine with no beeps.

            • The coupons won’t beep at the register because it does not have a way to look for the security codes, but CVS may not get reimbursed for the duplicates by the manufacturer which could cause them to tighten up their policies.

I filled out the form a second time with my husband’s information and the coupon that printed had the same security code. Maybe it was because I used the same computer and the same mailing address…?

            • Mary

I printed 5 coupons from the same computer with a different security code on each. After I printed the first one I chose the option to close the window & the hit the back button twice. When I got to the original form with my info on it I hit submit & then I got another coupon with a different security code. I have used them & it worked great!

        • Where is the $1 coupon? You said Wyeth website, but I can’t find it… Help! :)

          • Never mind! Jenny posted it on the list. :) THANKS, Jenny!

    • Tanya

When you say, “Total Due: nothing”, is that before or after tax?

      • Angel in NC

I believe it would be before, since every state has different sales tax rates, or none at all, it would be difficult for Jenny to calculate that in.

      • Yes, it’s before tax. My CVS requires that the ECBs come off the sub total, so you still pay the tax. Still, not a bad deal at all. Gotta love free stuff. Thanks, Jenny!

    • I got an email yesterday with a choice of free gift from CVS. My choices are a Chapstick or CVS hand lotion! Woo hoo! Adds to the fun! SO check your email!

      • Carla

I got that email too! Can’t wait for Sunday!

    • I am glad I have not spent my ECBs yet. Now I can roll them for more goodies and get more ECBs back!! Thanks Jenny!

    • as I recall, CVS reimburses you for that tax when you use your EB’s.

      • Marc

Not all of them do – ours treats it like a coupon and they will not accept EBS for tax.

        • Misty

Same here. I was upset the first time I went CVSing and my total was WAY off of what I had calculated. When I asked about it, the cashier said ECB’s will not cover tax. Oh well. Getting all this stuff and just paying tax on it is fine with me!

    • Meghan

Is there a limit to how many coupons and ecb’s that you can use on a purchase? The list I have made…one of my Transactions goes like this:
      Buy 2 Energizer batteries @ 5.99
      Buy 1 Energizer batteries @ 6.99
      Qs -(3)$1.00
      ECB’s -$5.00
      ECB’s -$7.47
      ECB’s -$2.00
      Total Due: $1.50

Will This work? Or is this too many ECB’s/coupons in 1 transaction for the products purchased?

      Thanks for your help!

      • weslie

my store doesn’t limit the number of ECBs you can use, so I’d think you’d be fine!

      • Annamarie

nope, it will work. I got a $20.00 MP3 player last week for 77cents after all the “piecey paper” as my 2 year old calls them. LOL

    • Lizabeth

can someone clarify for me what “limit one coupon per purchase” means?
Does that mean if i want to buy several of an item and have several coupons then I would have to do different transactions?

      • morgan

Depends on where you are and who you are talking to. As far as I am concerned, one per purchase means one coupon per ITEM. Otherwise, it would read ‘one coupon per customer’ or ‘one coupon per transaction.’ Just my opinion, of course.

    • D

is anyone having trouble finding the CREST toothpaste coupon in the Red Plum 12/6 book? I can’t find it anywhere in there, just wondering if it may have been left out of my book!

      • weslie

I don’t have it either. I’m in Metro Atlanta and get the AJC.

      • I could not find it in mine either, looked thru several of them, i too am in the Atl metro area,

        • Bridget

I have a 0.75 Q, not a $1… No idea where it came from, as I cut and file all my coupons

      • I had a remaining $1.00 Crest Coupon from the P&G $120 Savings book that I plan to use today.

      • T

Thanks so much D for posting this about the missing $1.00 off Crest Q. I too live in the Atlanta Area and it was driving me crazy that i couldn’t find the Q, I dont think it was in our area…

    • Kristy

What is the link for the $4 glade coupon??

      • Rachel Best

Thats what I want to know to?? Jenny said in her scenario that the $4 off sense and spray coupon was printable, but I dont see it?? If its only from the magazines then I cant do it this week.
        Thanks for anyone who knows???

        • Misty

It looks like there isn’t a printable available for this. I clicked on an expired link from another site and it said there are no prints available for this campaign.

    • Jenn G

Does anyone know if the Revlon Super Lustrous or Moon Drops Lipstick is included in this weeks Revlon B1G1 deal? If so will anyone be going Saturday night to get this B1G1 combined with the ECB deal? Or is this scenario possible? TIA

      • Misty

I hope so! The add says ALL Revlon is B1G1 this week, so I am going today to try it! My CVS starts the Sunday ad on Friday. I will let you know if it works or not.

        • Rachel Best

So if it works then we would get 2 lipsticks per revlon transaction instead of one? Would we get extra ecbs too??? Let us know!

          • Misty

The lipsticks rang up B1G1 for 8.99. I told the cashier they were listed as 6.99 on shelf. She asked someone, who I guess was the manager on duty, and the other girl told me she could do either the B1G1 or the 6.99 with 5 ECB back. So, it didn’t work. That’s fine. Still get free lipstick (with the $2 coupon). Not bad! Maybe someone else will have better luck.

    • Jennifer

Is the ECB deal on Complete contact solution still going? I am thinking it was month long, am I right?

      • Marc

It’s month long according to the December clipless coupon booklet, limit one.

      • Jenny

It is, I forgot to put it on the list. I’ll add it now.

        • Crystal

I’m not finding the $2 printable coupon for the contact solution on the site you linked. Am I missing something?

    • Mary

If I buy 5 Therma Care & use 1 $1.00 q each will I get $2.49 in ECB for each Therma Care?

      • Lizabeth

I hope so, because that is what I am planning to do.

        • Mary

Thanks. Do you know if the Sunday sales are good on Saturday night? I am having an open house Sunday & it will rush me to go then.

          • Brittany

If it is not a 24hour CVS. The weekly deals start at 6pm Saturday.

            • Mary

Thank you! You have been a great help.

          • Annamarie

check with your store. Mine will let me do the following week’s paper all day on saturday. They have even given me a 3 day sale on Saturday (started on Sunday) because of a mistake I made. I HEART my CVS! LOL

      • kim

I bought 5 of these at cvs today and used 5 coupons, all with different security codes. I did 3 in one transaction and they would not scan, but the cashier forced them through. I did a second transaction with the remaining 2 coupons and they did scan. This makes a profit of $5.00.

      • Amy G

I just realized that it only printed 1 ECB for my 4 thermal I bouth.. heading back now.

    • Laura

can’t seem to find the $2 Q for the complete contact solution via the link-anyone else been able to find it?

      • Brittany

I can’t find it either. And I need contact solution this week. Help!!

        • Rachel Best

I can’t find it either. I only found the $1 one. SO i”m using that one.

          • Kelley

If you look back at last weeks deals (or it might be the week before last) and scroll down through the replies, someone posted the correct link for the $2 coupon. I printed it and used it last week. Hope you can find it!!

      • marina
        • Cindy B.

Will that contact solution coupon work? I see it has a Canadian address on it. Has anyone tried it? I hate to use it if CVS won’t be able to get reimbursed for it.

      • Sheri

Laura, Do you need to purchase the Thermacare’s seperate to receive the ECB on each?

        • Jennifer

I purchased 4 ThermaCares at once and the ECB’s came out, but not as separate 2.49, as one for 9.96.

    • Anne Marie

Anyone find the printable for the Glade Sense and spray?

    • I have never tried the CVS scenarios but would like to this week, will they say anything if you stand there and do like 4 seperate transactions in a row, they won’t care?? I’m nervous about that part of it!! thanks

      • Becky

It really depends on the cashier you get, but most of the time they are fine with it if you step back and let others go between your transactions so they don’t get a huge, irate line behind you. The cashiers at my CVS are always great! It’s some of the ones at Walgreen’s that I find to be rude.

      • Misty

Most cashiers don’t care. They will have to ring up someone, so may as well be a friendly face like your’s…with more than 1 transaction. Just use proper coupon etiquette. If the line starts to back up, finish the transaction you are on, and move to the back of the line. That’s what I do. That way no one has to wait for a while for you to finish, and the cashier doesn’t get an ear full from all the customers behind you. I was a cashier at Wal-Mart for a few years, so I can sympathize with them. I try to make everything as easy as I can.

        • Thanks,I’m going to go try Tuesday.

      • Rena

don’t worry about it you’ll do fine. just get all your coupons ready before you go. I make a list of the scenarios that i plan on doing and pair my coupons with it that way I don’t get distracted from my plan. If some one gets in line behind me I finish my transaction then move to the back of the line to do the next. Most stores are VERY nice and if you tell them up front you plan on making 2,3or 4 transactions they will even open another register for the next customer so that they can help you. Good luck and have fun!

      • Haley

They never seem to mind as long as there isn’t a line.
At least around here they are very used to couponers, so they are not going to think too much about it.

      • Chrissy

I’ve only been shopping at CVS a couple of months so think I have it figured out thanks to sites like this :)
I don’t understand the need to to multiple transactions though? Does it really make a difference?

Yesterday, I spent $47.71 and got 37.98 ECB’s back. There is only 1 CVS in that town and it’s 30+ minutes from my house so I only go maybe once a week. Usually get the grumpy shift supervisor who acts like I’m stealing using coupons, but today I got the nice younger girl.

There’s no way I would stand there and do multiple transactions with some of the cashiers.
Am I missing something by doing it all in 1 transaction?

        • Michael Odell

Yes!!! You are missing the most important part!

Here is a Perfect example. Let us round your purchases and I will sow you the difference. lets say your $50 gives $40 in ECBs and for simplicity it is made up of five $10 Items.

You just spent $50 OOP or your own Money.

          Now break up the transaction.

          Trans 1 purchase item 1 for $10 get back $8 ECB = Cost $10
          Trans 2 purchase item 2 for $10 get back $8 ECB = Cost $2 + $8 ECB from Trans 1
          Trans 3 purchase item 3 for $10 get back $8 ECB = Cost $2 + $8 ECB from Trans 2
          Trans 4 purchase item 4 for $10 get back $8 ECB = Cost $2 + $8 ECB from trans 3
          Trans 4 purchase item 5 for $10 get back $8 ECB = Cost $2 + $8 ECB from Trans 4

Total Cost OOP = $18 + Usually more ECB from Trans 5

So you could have saved another $22

Always! Always! Always! use multiple transactions. Thiis is called rolling your ECB or RR (Register Rewards when at Walgreens).

        • I usually do just one transaction each week. I keep about $20+/- ECB’s that I have kept rolling for the last 2 years or so. If it’s a slow week I just refresh what I can then make sure to use the other half the following week so none of them expire. If there are a LOT of great deals (like Thanksgiving) then I try to break it into two $20 sets. The amounts don’t always match up as neatly as Jenny’s, but for me it’s worth spending an extra dollar OOP to avoid multiple transactions and the net differences are about the same (more OOP = more ECBs back) so I’m not really losing anything.

I didn’t spend $20 OOP all at once; I just did a few money makers here and there and my amount gradually built up. If I start getting much more than $20 worth then I spend them when a sale comes up on something I need (like diapers) because if I have too many it does get hard to roll them in time if there’s an extended deal drought. Personally I couldn’t keep up with $40 in ECBs but if you can, then go for it!

    • Kay

I haven’t been able to find the Almay printable on Target’s website. Has anyone else had a problem?

      • kim

I found a $1 off any Almay color cosmetic coupon, but I don’t know if it will work on the mascara for eye make-up remover. Any one have an opinion?

        • Gina

I asked the cashier at Walgreens this week if I could use the Almay color coupon on the eye make-up remover. She wasn’t sure so she tried it on my transaction and the register wouldn’t take it. So, it may not work at CVS either.

        • kelli

it would probably work on brown mascara, black technically isn’t a color so it probably wouldn’t work on that… I know that I had a problem with a revlon coupon for “color cosmetic” when I tried to buy black finger nail polish.

          • Lori

I just tried the Almay Color coupon and the Revlon lipstick coupons didn’t work either because the ones on sale aren’t color stay.

          • rydergal

the Revlon q beeps on ALL nail polish, because the nail polishes have a short barcode…there’s not enough room on the package for a full barcode. And since the short barcode is different from the full barcode on the q, it will beep Item Not Found. Always. It’s got nothing to do with the color of the nail polish…

        • kim

I was able to use the Almay Color coupon on the One Coat Mascara. Also, the $1.00 Target Revlon coupon worked on the lipstick.

        • Jaime

My CVS will not take the Almay coupon because it says for a color cosmetic (eye shadow, powder, etc). I got black mascara.

      • kim

On the Target website on the left side of the page you will see a list of categories. Pick the Health/Beauty one. That is where I found it.

        • Brianna

My CVS did not take the Target mascara and lipstick coupons.

    • kim

I meant mascara OR eye make-up remover.

    • rachel

I have a question, I know that you can’t use ECB’s on the tax- but if you use your ECB’s before you use your coupons, and get your total down to say- $1- then use the 1 off coupon, would they let you do that? that way you get out of paying any OOP? this is my example:

      Nivea 5.99
2 clincal strength secret at 2/15
      Crest tooth paste 2.88
==25.54 (that is total WITH tax for my state)

FIRST give them my 10 & 2.5 ECB’s from last week

      5 off purchase of 20
      (2)- $2 off secret
      2 off nivea
      1 off crest.

      *OWE 1.04 OOP

would they let me do that? instead of waiting to do the ECB’s at the end?

      • Haley

My experience is that you can not bring the total below $20 before you have them scan the $5/$20.

        • rachel

I wonder if i did the 5 off of 20 first, THEN ECB’s if it would work. i am trying today. i hope it works! =)

      • Julie

Not sure about the whole tax thing and the order of giving coupons v. ECB’s. Just FYI though, see my post below, there’s a B2G1 Secret coupon in my P&G from 11/01. So, if you’re buying 2 deodorants, might as well get one free (if you have the coupon).

    • Julie

I’m excited. Secret Clinical is my favorite, but it is so expensive. Unfortunately I don’t have the $2 coupons, but I did find a couple others that I hope will work. In my P&G 11/01, there’s a buy 2 get 1 free on Secret products (it has clinical pictured and no price limit is mentioned). In the same ad, there’s a $0.50/1 Secret. So, if I buy 3 deodorants

      -Buy 3 deodorants at 7.50=$22.50
      -Use (1) B2G1 (-$7.50)
-Use (1) CVS $1 off from flu book
-Use (2) $0.50/1 (for the 2 not free)
      Total due $13.00
Get back $5 ECB, so 3 deodorants for $8!
If you have the $2/1 coupons even better! (3 for $5)

Just thought I’d post this, since I didn’t see any mention of the coupons from P&G 11/1 above. (they don’t expire until 12/31/09)

      • Ailin

I tried to use the B2G1 Secret q today in combination with 2 50 cents off Q’s for the two I was paying full price for. That did not work, and she . Maybe I gave them in the wrong order? If anyone tries this, give them the $.50 q’s first, then the B2G1 coupon. I was a little disappointed, but it was just one dollar lost. Does anyone Know the official CVS policy on that scenario? I am under the impression that most stores accept this without problems. Thanks.

    • Binkle

I have never tried to use a coupon that had another stores name on it before at CVS. I am interested in the Almay purchased but it has a Target logo on it. My CVS seems pretty strict on this stuff, I wonder if they will say absolutely not. Anybody know the facts on using these coupons at CVS?

      • Nick

It’s a manufacturer coupon so it should scan no problem. It can have Santa and Reindeers on it as long as it says manufacturer coupon

        • ashley

I’m surprised not more of you have realized what Target’s done. Their coupons now say manufacturer but with a Target logo, they beep in other stores other than Target, therefore Target made it to where you can only use these at Target, yet now we can’t stack!!

          • Misty

I have yet to have a problem using these at CVS. They go through every time.

            • Brianna

              Mine did not go through.

            • JenGC

I have only had a problem using these coupons at Walmart. I pushed so they took it. The manager…or someone that was helping my cashier….said she didn’t think Walmart would get reimbursed. I said “well it says Manufacturer coupon on it so Walmart will”. she then took it to someone else and they said that if it will scan, then take it. It scanned but she had to put in the amount. She then said “I dont think Walmart will get their money back though”. I didn’t say anything because it worked. I have had to tell many cashiers that if it says Manufacturer Coupon on it, it is a Manufacturer’s coupon. Not Target. Yes I think it is pretty bad that Target has put their logo on it to confused customers and other stores but they DID supply the coupon so I can understand.

      • kim

I was able to use both the Almay and Revlon Target printables at CVS today.

        • Wendy

The register beeped when I tried the Revlon Q. The cashier wouldn’t take it b/c of the Target logo. I pointed out the words “manufact coupon” but she still said no. My sister tried it at another CVS and the cashier pushed it through for her. I guess it depends on the store/cashier.

    • Binkle

I just happened to run across this website this morning. Apparently is you have 4 purchases of the Secret Clinical you can mail off and they will send you a fifth one free. Maybe a great thing for those of you that love the stuff as my daughter does. http://www.secret.com/LoyaltyRewards.do

Join the Loyalty Reward Program and receive a coupon for one FREE Secret Clinical Strength (1.6 oz.) product. Just buy four Clinical Strength products (1.6 oz. or larger) and your fifth product is on us. Follow the instructions below to receive your free product:

    • Momof2 (Greer,SC)

I had trouble using the Revlon coupon last time. $2 off any color cosmetic. I kept being told that the q only applied to foundations & not lipsticks

      • Tara

My coupon didn’t go through on its own but I pointed out that the coupon said ‘ANY COLOR PRODUCT’ and the cashier ended up pushing it through for me. She said I wasn’t the first one this happened to.

      • Kim Phan

I have no issue with my Relvon $2 off coupon. It went thru fine.

        • becky

          they wouldn’t take my revlon $2 q either. :(

      • Tonya

The CVS in Simpsonville wouldn’t take the Revlon $2 towards the lipstick either – the cashier thought it should but when they asked someone they were told no. it had to be with a colorstay product.

    • Carrie

For the Revlon 5 ECB deal when you purchase at 6.99; If you make the purchase tonight, the former week’s deal will win precedence (at the B1G1) and the ECBs will not print. If you are not paying attention you will lose out so let the cashier know. I know I know, a lot of good this does now but perhaps this type scenario snafu will help someone in a similar situation in the future. Happy couponing and a Very Merry Christmas to all!!!

Thank you Jenny for this site, I refer at least 2 people a week here if not more. Tonight one more amazed bystander asked the website address as he looked on in wonder and sheer amazement.

      • Nick

Yes, I came home with a load of stuff again tonight and made about $5 bucks in the process. I too push SouthernSavers.com website like a drug dealer :o) Thanks Jenny. Hopefully advertising is making you some bucks for your work.

      • Julie

Darn, I think this happened to me. Yep, too late now. I had such a large transaction, it’s hard to remember everything. Hmmm, guess I could just get 2 more lipsticks later this week. Thanks!

      • Angel in NC

I shop on Sat night, so I scan all my items with the magic red box; and I noticed that the Revlon wasn’t ringing up with the sale price. So I just skipped it, since I have to come back and figure out where I can find the 4ct ALTERIL. IF anyone has any tips I appreciate it!!

        • Tara

The Alteril at my store was on the PHARMACY COUNTER where you would pick up your prescriptions. HTH.

        • The alteril 4 ct. at my CVS was with the sleep aids, but on a lower shelf in a display box.

        • Angel in Charleston

One store had it behind the counter because it’s small like a trial-size thing, and another had a box of it sitting ON the counter in front of the registers. Just ask your cashier or manager if you can’t find it.

      • kelli

I thought that the deals overlapped…

      • weslie

This happened to me, it was my first attempt at shopping on a Saturday night. When I got home and realized I called and talked to the shift manager. She agreed to let me come back return the lipsticks and get my coupons back so I could redo the deal on Sunday. But when I got there they decided to just push through the ECBs to save the hassle of the returns.. woot woot!

      • JenGC

I have gathered up most of my free stuff for a friend of mine’s son. She was baffled with the big box of things I collected with coupons and freebies. We went to rite aid and Kroger’s together so I could show her how to do it and she just couldn’t believe it. We bought a bunch of stuff at Rite Aid and her OOP came up to $5 and something. Then she had one check rebates for other things that came out to being $7.99. I love showing her how cool it is!

    • Jen

So… I got so flustered at CVS today when shopping with my scenarios. I was going to do the Lubriderm deal and they were out of the Lubriderm that was $5.99. I wasn’t prepared to buy the ones that were $7.99. I decided to go down the street to another CVS that usually has everything. Well it turns out that they didn’t have sale stickers on the John Frieda Root Awakening products but they did on all the other John Frieda items. There was also a glitch in the sales add regarding the Listerine. The add specified you get $2 ECB when you buy Listerine Total Care 1 Liter, but in the picture it showed the 500 ml bottles. The sales price was also located on the 500ml bottles which I didn’t have coupons for, just the 1 Liter bottles. I ended up asking one of the clerks who then wanted to argue with me about it. I just politely put the items back and drove back to the CVS I started at. My scenarious were thrown off a bit since the cheaper lubriderm was out but everything else was in stock. The listerine total care 1 liter was supposed to be $5.99 and I just noticed on my reciept that it rang up for almost $7. I may take my reciept up there tomorrow and get the difference back if it’s not a big hassell. All in all, I spent $1.90 and saved $23.08 and my boyfriend spent $0.43 and saved $54.17. I got back $6.99 in ECBs after only using $4 in ECBs. My boyfriend got back $23.99 in ECBs after only using $17.98 in ECBs. I also got a $5 off a $15 purchase out of the coupon scanner. I can’t complain too much b/c even though I got a little flustered, I ended up having a good day at CVS. The cashiers are always pleasant at that store.

      • Jen

Sorry I posted this on the wrong weeks sales.

    • Amy

Hello, my name is Amy and I’m an SS addict. The Alteril sleep aid most likely will not be in stock at your CVS. FYI-it’s located near the pain killers. Also, the Bonny Bell Lip Smackers coupon is for 2010 items. These items are not the ones for $1.99. Further, the Glade S&S or LI are hard to come across. At the 2 stores I went to, there was one LI and zero S&S. The coupon machine printed a $5 off $15 and a $20 off Extreme Fit Gaming Pad. I think these were $50 but have no idea if they’re any good. I made a good profit. Please note the Thermacare has a limit of 5 and I didn’t have any trouble using 5 coupons in one transaction. There were many in stock but they won’t last long if people buy 5.

    • LD

      JUst an FYI
the planters mixed nuts and cashews are 2 for $5 there is a $2 off 2 planters , that was in a small coupon booklet [along with hormel coupons and hidden valley dressing also some tree and light rebates when you buy budwiser] . I found these at food lion a couple of weeks ago but they have been out a while as the expir. is 12/31 . So $3 for 2 planters cashews or mixed .

    • kiley

cant find the crest or oral b coupons?? any help

    • Jess

The Listerine coupon in the CVS flu booklet says it is for the 1 L size not the 500 mL size. Oh well.

      • Binkle

Yeah, I couldn’t use my CVS flu booklet Listernine coupon either. It says Total Care, and that was not one of the ones on sale.

    • Holly

So frustrated with CVS. Bought the Revlon lipstick with other stuff and gave the $2 off Revlon cosmetics and the register said no coupon match. He argued with me that lipstick was not a cosmetic since it wasn’t on the picture! I wanted the ECB so i bought it anyway, but seriously….Did anyone else have issues using that coupon??

      • kelli

my coupon beeped but my cashier read it and was like “what the heck?” and gave me the $2 off. I don’t know what lipstick is if it’s not a cosmetic.

      • I used it and can’t remember if it beeped. However, no problems and all coupons today were accepted.

      • Amanda

Yea there is something up with the most recent coupon for $2 off Revlon, mine beeped, thankfully there was a picture of lipstick on the coupon so the manager took it. I think as long as it says ANY cosmetic you should speak up, especially if it is a guy, some of them just don’t know.

      • Amy T

Me too…they wouldn’t let me use the coupon after it beeped. The cashier and manager tried telling me that I had to buy a product that was pictured on the coupon. This was a different CVS that I had stopped at though. I’m going to my CVS tomorrow hoping that they still have some so I can use my coupons. One good thing came out of it though, she scanned my $4 off $20 coupon before she took off the lipsticks. I thought the total sounded low. I didn’t realize what had happened until I got back home.

      • Binkle

I went to CVS this morning and they refused my Revlon coupons. It said Color cosmetic, which she said meant ColorStay, she said she would even accept it if I was getting what was pictured. What was pictured WAS NOT color stay either. So anyway, I left there and went to another CVS and they took the coupons just fine. Guess it depends where you go. My CVS is getting so strict.

      • Angel in Charleston

I used my $2 Revlon coupons on the lipstick, no problem.

        • Stacy

Mine wouldn’t take the Q’s either and they were VERY RUDE about it too. And there wasn’t even anyone in line behind me. AND, they were out of the Thermacares. I am seriously ticked about it.!

      • Amy T

I tried again at my regular CVS and they also gave me a hard time about it. I asked the cashier why he wouldn’t take it and he said “because it beeped.” (????) I argued and they finally agreed to take just one. I guess it’s still a good deal, but it annoys me that they act like you’re trying to do something wrong.

    • kelli

      today I bought:

      1 Nivea body wash = $5.99
      1 Oral-B satin floss = $2.88
      1 Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick = $6.99
      1 Literine = $3.99
      1 Alteril Sleep Aid = $1.99
      – $5/$20
      – $2 off Nivea body wash
      – $1 off Oral-B satin floss
      – $2 off Revlon color cosmetic
      – $1 off Listerine (couldn’t stack with store coupon because it’s for 1 liter)
      – $10.88 ECBs adjusted to $10.84
      Subtotal: 0, Total: $.61, Saved: $25.25, ECBs Earned: $16.99

I don’t know if anyone else will have this problem, but watch out for the Listerine… They had 2 packs in front of all of the single bottles at my store, labeled as $3.99 with 3 ECBs. I thought “why would I buy 1, if I can get 2 for the same price?” BUT when I went to buy it, it was $4.99 with no extra bucks.

    • Wendy

I have a question about printing the manufacturer coupons with the Target logo. Has anyne had trouble with this? I can’ print any. I have tried several times to download but it just doesn’t work. This is the only one I have trouble with. Thanks

      • Binkle

Sometimes I have to switch back and forth between Firefox and Internet Explorer to get my coupons to print. Some only print out of Firefox, some print from both browsers. Not sure why.

        • Vicki :)

You can also install an add-on in FF that allows you to open an IE tab so you don’t have to open IE itelf. Great add-on!

      • JenGC

I only have problems with coupons.com and only at work. From what I understand, our firewall is able to block them from printing. I have tried installing the software and everything. I can print them at home (I work off a laptop) but not at work. That might be your problem (if you are trying from work that is).

I got everything on my list although I had to stop at 3 different CVS today. They were all on my way to other places so it wasn’t inconvenient to go to other stores. I find if I’m going through a small town with a CVS, I can usually find everything including the Thermal Care Heat Wraps that I found in Landrum, SC. They had at least 20 of them. The only thing I didn’t get that I had on my list was the Alteril and I would like to get the Schick Intuition Razor but I can’t find the coupon for it.

Started out with almost $30 in ECBs and ended up with about $40 in ECBs with my card. My boyfriend also gained about $10 in ECBs from what he started with prior to today which was about $23 in ECBs. I love shopping at CVS. It’s like they are paying me to shop there. I did run into the problem today where you can’t use ECBs to pay for tax. I’ve never had that issue at the CVS in Boiling Springs or at any of the CVS in Columbia.

      • kelli

about tax: I think that it depends on the ECB whether or not it will cover tax or not… that’s the only thing that I can figure out because I regularly shop at 2 different stores in my town, sometimes the ECBs I use will cover some of the tax (giving me a negative subtotal) and sometimes they won’t and have to be adjusted down.

I could be totally wrong but I’ve had both things happen at both stores, so that’s my only guess as to why.

        • Vicki :)

Also, in SC only certain things are taxed. Food items aren’t but a lot of medicines and such are. It’s complicated!!

    • Sacramento Bee Coupon has a new expiration date. 12/25/09

      • kelli

what, really? is it in the same place as the other one?

    • Jessica

I sent you a comment a couple of days ago regarding the Sonicaire toothbrushes, the rebate e-mail you will get is $10 off a FUTURE toothbrush purchase and $19.99 rebate on replacement brushes but the receipt has to show you purchased these after the date you put in when you registered. I called Sonicaire this morning and they e-mailed me a rebate form to use for the 2 I bought from Walgreens. HTP!!

I’m so grateful! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I forgot the most important thing: I was able to print off a $5 off $15 right in the store.

    • Michelle

I found a BOGO q stuck to a Glade candle jar, but the other stuck-on q’s were .50/1

Was able to print a 5/15$ and a $1 Bag Tag ECB in store

      2 Revlon lipsticks $6.99 each
      1 Nivea body wash $5.99
      1 pro-crest toothpaste $2.88
      1 oral-b toothbrush $2.99
3 Glade candle jars $3.00 each
1 Glade glass candle holder $3.00
      1 Glade oil refill $3.00

      started with 13.94 ECBs
      -2/1 Nivea
      2 BOGO Glade
      -.75/1 Crest

      Total before coupons: $40.84
      OOP: $0.24
      ECB earned: 9

Need to go back to earn back some ECB’s on the ThermaCares…they were all out..

I actually messed up and handed the coupons in the wrong order so that I had to pay $1 more in tax, but if I hadn’t done that stupid thing…

Speaking of tax…I have changed the way I work the scenarios so that I use the Manuf. q’s to pay for the tax.. Before I was just subtracting the coupons from the subtotal and paying with ECBs from there-then stuck paying real money for the tax…but since it finally dawned on me to use the man. q in this way it makes it more fun :)

How do you work it so you don’t have to pay tax? I haven’t figured that part out yet. My local CVS employees and Manager are NOT friendly and make me give them all my q’s and ECB’s at one time. Also, they would not take my q’s that I printed from Target. They said it was a “Target” q . . I even pointed out that it clearly states at the top “Manufacturer Coupon”.

        • Ginger

I think it depends on what state you live in. Where I am, you can NOT pay for tax with Qs or ECBs. It will always beep you. Not only that, but you have to pay tax on the whole pre-tax purchase. Good luck.

I have signed up for CVS emails but am not getting them. I used to but they must be blocked. I re-entered my info and linked my card to my email address again last week, yet no emails. What is the email address their info and specials come from so I can add to my safe senders?

I have been to 2 CVSs (Ballentine and Irmo) today and can not find any thermacare wraps or Nivea. Any suggestions?

      • Sara

I found the items I needed at a CVS in a small town on my way to visit my parents for Christmas. I am new to CVSing….I bought the items in 2 transactions…spent less than $4 and ended up with about $15 of ECBs.

I did pretty good tonight. I was hoping to get some thermacare wraps because I love them but I never buy them for myself because they’re so expensive but I went to 2 stores (who both get their shipments on tuesdays) and only found 1.

      I bought:

4 glade scented oils refills = $3 each
      1 thermacare wrap = $2.49
      1 calendar = $1
1 merry brite candy cane rope lights = $5
      – $5/$20
      – (3) $2 off glade scented oils refills (peelies, could only find 3 of them)
      – $1 off thermacare
      – $8 ECBs
      subtotal: $.49, tax: $.37, total oop: $.86, saved: $31.95, ecbs earned: $6.49

I know it’s sad but I kind of hate having to spend that much oop. I would’ve spent 50 cents on something else, but there aren’t many things that cheap in cvs. I really love rope lights, so I decided to get them and a calendar (for my aunt who has a wall of them) for next to nothing. I did have a problem with the lights though, they were marked on the package as $9.99 and were marked 50% off but rang up $6.49. Somehow the cashier didn’t seem to understand that that wasn’t 50% off of $9.99… but the problem was that it rang up $12.99 not $9.99.

I had an interesting experience at the CVS.

I got excited and went to the store two day’s early. Undetered, because I had brought my rain checks, I was able to salvage the trip and got my rain check items and those ECB’s. Which was important b/c my ECB’s were expiring on 12/19. I did pretty well for ‘winging’ it and got $9 ECB’s (3/ $3).

I went back yesterday and found they were out of the Nivea. Since I am new, I had a hard time figuring out an alternative. I was able to put a few things together differently, but I paid more OOP than I wanted too.

I wondered how to figure out a replacement scenio? Is there a ‘rule of thumb’?

      • Michelle

Well the rule of thumb for me is “well, Michelle, I guess you’ll be here another hour..” ;) I don’t know about the rest of you, but I usually take about an hour and a half every time because I always have to redo everything.

new to cvsing: quick question. can i use multiple ecb’s on one item or is it one ecb per item bought? for example:
      (2) regular price deodarants 10.00

      use 1 ecb 4.00
      use 1 ecb 3.00
      use 1 ecb 3.00
can this work or do i need to buy item per equally valued ecb?
      thanks guys

      • Stephanie B.

Yes, you can use multiple ECB in a transaction.

    • Alison

The Tennessean newspaper (Wednesday)has a $5 off $20 coupon as well as a $4 off wyb 3 12 packs of Coke products. I was able to use both for a great deal. I also received the $5 off $15 coupon, which expires on 12/26.

    • Heather

My CVS wouldn’t accept the Almay or Revlon $1 off coupons. Even though they were manufacturer’s coupons the cashier said they wouldn’t scan. I don’t know if anyone else had this issue but it’s just an FYI.

    • Melissa

My CVS wouldn’t take the revlon coupon :(

    • Amber

I wasn’t able to use more than one “$2 off any Revlon color cosmetic coupon” tonight. Was trying to buy 3 Moon Drops lipsticks. The cashier was really nice to even try multiple transactions. And, that didn’t even work. He said b/c the coupon says “one coupon per purchase. Any other use constitutes fraud” their system won’t take more than 1.

One free lipstick isn’t bad, though! Merry Christmas!
