    • Another great week at CVS!!!

    • Michele

Where do you find the Kmart booklet?

    • Taylor

The $2 off Poise coupon is if you buy 2 packages. Can you use 2 coupons if you’re only buying 2 packages? (Shouldn’t you have to buy 4?)

    • Kelly

I just printed the POISE coupon and it states “Save $2.00 on any One package of POISE Liners”

    • Erin

Will CVS take Rite Aid coupons???

    • Val

It depends on the store. My store takes competitor coupons on everything. Some stores only take competitor coupons for the pharmacy. Best thing to do is ask your store.

    • Stacey

Thanks for posting this…lots of great deals this week on things that I have been waiting for like rechargeable batteries which can be hard to find a deal on. Cant wait to get my shopping done and make some money!!!!!!

    • Sarah

I printed the Poise coupon on my home computer, and it printed “$2.00 off of 2 Poise Liners.” I came to work and printed off my computer, and it printed “$2.00 off of 1 Poise Liners”. Kind of strange!!

    • Sandra

I could not get the Kraft mac & cheese coupon to print! Help!

    • Amanda

The pad q is for one the liners is for 2 the carefree q has to mailed right?? It want just print?

    • Kim

I received an email for $4 off $20 in beauty care items. I was able to print it twice. It doesn’t expire until Sunday. Does anyone know if I can use one this week to get the Loreal deal and then use the other one on Sunday to get the Aveeno deal?

    • You can only use emailed q’s from CVS one time. They have a unique code and the computer will only take one no matter how many you print. HTH :)

    • Also, I got a CRT for the Aveeno Shampoo…$1 off.

    • Amber

Just FYI. The Glade deal is limit 3. I have tons of Glade coupons & I plan to use them.

    • Ginge

Hey Jenny. FYI, the link for the Biore coupons goes to the Aveeno coupons….wasn’t sure if you knew. Thanks for all you do!

    • Beth

Can you take the “Ready Fill Quiz” again and get/use another $5/$25 coupon? Couldn’t you use that on the Aveeno deal?

I also got a $1 off Aveeno hair CRT last week.

      Thanks so much.

    • Tracie

      *DEAL ALERT*

I was at my CVS here in Atlanta yesterday and they have a big display in the toothpaste aislefor Arm & Hammer Toothpaste. The travel size is .01 this week (sale ends 8/22). I used it as a filler item to get me to an even $25.00 so I could use my $5 off $25 coupon. It is limit one per customer.

    • the Lipton Izze coupons are for the 4 packs, not the 20 oz bottles

    • Lauren

Question about the Kraft mac and cheese: I have 3 $0.69 Q’s from Walgreens that my CVS will honor. Can I also use the B3G1 Q?

    • B

With the Aveeno deal I am wondering if I can use both the $5/$25 coupon (from the quiz) and the $3/$15 on Sunscreen that printed recently. Does anyone know?

    • Allison

the carefree coupon doesn’t have to be mailed mine all printed just fine

    • Kim

Can I use the 5/$25 CVS coupon and the $4/20(beauty products) together with my Aveeno coupons?

YIPPEE – Kroger in Ohio (Mansfield and Mt. Vernon for sure) are having triple coupons (.50) this weekend Fri – Sunday. Planning on getting some great/free deals. What a fabulous coupon week.

    • Amy

Can you stack a CVS $1 off Aveeno with the printable $2 manu Q?

    • Jennifer

I was able to print five Poise liner coupons from one computer. I’m not sure how that happened!?!?

    • Wanda

I am new to this site (and couponing). Are the coupons everyone is talking about here in the CVS flyer?

    • mandie

Kim post #22. I am originally from Ohio, graduated from Crestview. It’s nice to *see* someone from my old state on southern savers.
      Go Buckeyes! lol

    • mandie

Kim, forgot to answer your question, *blushing* I have been able to stack those same Q’s you’be mentioned, hope it works for you.

    • mandie

I printed 3 Poise Q’s from my PC, 2 this morning one this afternoon. My Q’s from this morning said $2.00/1 the Q from this afternoon said $2.00/2. These were printed from the same PC and printer. Weird ;) I’m gonna try again in the a.m. to see what/if they print out.

    • Ln

Can someone please help me? I keep trying to print the aveeno coupon for $2 off any aveeno. I go through the whole process and then when I click submit I get a page that says “you may have to disable your popup blocker to receive your coupon. Thank you for your request.” I keep clicking the “disable popup blocker” button at the top of the screen but I still can’t get that coupon. I have printed this one time before a while back…do you think that’s why I can’t get it or am I doing something wrong technilogically over here?

    • Aimee

Comment 29, sometimes you have to disable th pop-up blocker, close internet explorer and then go back into internet explorer and then try and print the coupon.

    • Melinda

When printing the Poise coupons, if you answer “yes” that you want to receive special offers via email you get the $2.00 of one poise. If you say “no” you get the $2.00 off two poise. Tricky!!

    • Ln

Thanks! How do I permanently disable popup blocker? Because everytime I get back into IE it’s back on.

    • Brooke

I don’t know if the trick is the yes vs no for special offers. I got a $1/1 for the first print and a $2/2 for the second print and said no to the special offers both times. So on my second computer after printing the first coupon, I hit the back button, which causes a second print to be initiated. The second print has a different validation code, so it is a valid coupon, just your second print without taking the survey again!

    • Nick

Glade 4 dollar coupons are for the starter kit. And the price noted are for the refills as far as I can tell. The starter kits which they may or may not have will be around 9-10 bucks typically.

Please correct me if I’m wrong

    • Lauren

The Poise deal says a limit of 5. Is that a limit of 5 packages, or is that a limit of 5 ECB deals?

      **Jenny Here**
Thats 5 ECB deals so you can buy 10 packs!

    • Lindsey

I have printed 6 poise so far… all for $2 off one. I will keep trying to print til I reach the limit. I also have a couple of $1 Carefree coupons… So they would also be a money maker. Thats a lot of pads I won’t have to pay for. =) Thanks for the heads up! Oh, have any of you found the Jack Links Buffalo nugguts at CVS from the All You magazine?

    • Lauren

      Lindsey – 36

I found them at Target today but they were the wrong size…
The q specifies a size and the ones are Target were too small.

    • Lindsey

I looked at target too… not even the wrong size bag! I’ll keep looking… Are they even any good?

    • Lindsey

Also, can I stack a manu q and a cvs printable for the same item?

    • Michelle

The Jack links buffallo nuggets are at rite aid also they are buy one get one this week so you will get both free only till sat though

    • Lindsey

thanks michelle- I’ll have to check at mine!

    • kelli

I printed the Poise coupons… I don’t need them but I like the idea of a money makes! I could only printed 2 of them and they both came out as $2 off of one.

    • kelli

I was going through piles of magazines that I hadn’t had a chance to look at yet and I found Carefree coupons in both Cosmo and Marie Claire from February.

    • Rachel

Beth #16: I tried this and evidently the computer “remembers you,” like the regular manufacturer IPs. It will allow you to retake the quiz, but the code is the same and CVS computer will say “already redeemed.” I took the test on another computer and got a different code to use on the next trip.

Kim #22: Then I took that second $5/$25 ReadyFill Quiz coupon, asked the pharmacist about the program to get the coupon booklet, and also scanned my card in the magic coupon machine when I got there, which gave me a $2/$10.

In one transaction, I did the Loreal Revitalift deal (two of them – offer limit reached), got the tampons, and found 4 J&J travel kits. Total was sround $48. I used $11 in CVS coupons first ($5/25, $4/20 facial, $2/10), then $16 in MQ (2 $5/1 Loreal, 2 $1/1 Loreal, 4 $1/1 J&J), and $21 in ECBs (adjusted down slightly) for ZERO OOP and got back $25.89 in ECBs ($20/Loreal, $4/J&J, $1.89/Tampons). This increased my ECBs by $5!!

Long story short: I used ALL THREE CVS coupons! YMMV if you can too, but worth a try! The machine did not beep me, so cashier scanned them all. Good luck!

    • Rachel

Lindsey: YES, you can stack a CVS coupon with a manufacturer coupon on the same item. You can also stack with CVS $/$$ coupons to make the deals even sweeter! Most stores I shop (Target, WAGS, CVS) that have their own store coupons WILL allow you to stack them. Happy $aving!!

    • JennyM

      Hey Kim (post 22)

Last week I used 4/20 skin care AND 5/25 purchase just use the 5/25 first….you should be fine.

    • Mollie

after you click allow pop-ups, just refresh the page and it should load your coupon

    • Ln

Thanks. I tried what you suggested, but it still doesn’t work. Clearly, I’m doing something wrong. It stinks because this week I used a $2.00 aveeno coupon and a $1.50 CVS aveeno coupon because I had been waiting for 2 weeks or so to see if this shampoo would go back on sale with ECB. *Sigh*

If anyone has any suggestions, I’ll try them as well.

    • Mollie

Try going to tools on your IE bar, click on pup-up blocker, then click disable pop-up blocker, then refresh or click back. If that still doesn’t work try downloading Firefox.

    • Michelle

If you need Clear Care, there is also a $2 coupon in the Kmart Booklet off clear care.

    • Kim

What is a magic coupon machine? Where do I find it? I am getting CVS deals, but seem to be missing something in this because my totals are always higher than all of yours. Thank.

    • Nick #34, the picture on the ad scan I’m seeing does show the Starter kit for $5. When on sale, these ARE normally $5-$6.99 so I think that’s right.

    • Lauren

Thanks Jenn! I have the Q’s, so that’s more ECBs for me and more packs to donate!! Yippee!

    • Shiloh Kennedy

If I purchase a $25 Visa Gift card at CVS, can I use the $5 off $25 Q?

    • Shiloh Kennedy

I plan on buying (2) $25 Visa gift cards… and receiving $5 EC bucks !!! FREE MONEY !!! Then I can just use my GC’s for gas and stuff. YAY!!!

    • Shannon

How come everytime there are links to printable coupons I get a message that there are no prints left? Are there only a certain number of clicks allowed in the universe of internet users?

    • Haley

One thing I’m a little worried about here: The printable Carefree coupons say “Limit one per purchase”…if they read that, its really going to put a damper on my money maker!

    • Haley

do you think their computers will flag that?

    • Tiffany

“limit one per purchase” means one coupon per item purchased, not “per transaction”.

    • Kazzandra

Food Lion also has a Catalina program for Poise pads going on.

    • susie

      what does catalina program mean?

    • susie, the catalina is a machine at grocery store checkouts that automatically prints coupons for you based on what you purchased in store. sometimes these are manufacturer coupons or even for a free product. your cashier will usually hand it to you if one prints.

    • Christian’s Mommy

I just went to K Mart this afternoon. The coupon books were at the customer service desk just sitting out (free for the taking) and you all know I helped myself to a couple! :)

    • Angel

I have a son named Christian too! Small world!

For the first time shopped at cvs on saturday. I found tons of glade! and walked out paying 14 cents out of pocket. feels so good, I was even able to finally get my airwick for the raincheck I had.!
      love it!

    • Christian’s Mommy

Talk about a small world, my first name is Angel :)

    • Amanda

Jenny, in your grand plan first transaction how are you getting the ecb for the lipton when you only buy one?

    • Jenn

She had one in trans #1, and one in trans #2.

    • seacoastmom

      *Glade FYI*

I used 4 of my “Free Glade warmer when you but a refill” coupons this morning but those items did not count toward my Glade total for ECB’s so I didn’t get the next $3 in ECB’s. But I did get those 4 warmers for FREE & my house smells gooooooooood this morning! It wasn’t pictured in the ad but I was hoping it’d count, guess not…… :@)

    • valerie

my tallahassee democrat didn’t have any of the glade coupons or the schick razor coupons!! now i have to replan my whole trip!

    • seacoastmom did you purchase the plug in or holders? I purchased the scented oil holder and the 3pack refill for it. FYI some CVS stores have the holders that include a candle that are $6.99. Make sure you have the glass holder that DOES NOT include thte candle. I went to 3 stores before finding the correct one. HTH

    • kelli

I didn’t get everything that I’d hoped for this morning but I did pretty good.

      I bought:

      (4) Carefree Ultra Protection
      (2) comp books
      (4) Bic Triumph pens (I had a rain check from when they were BOGO)

total before sales/coupons: $38.73 ($25.14 after ECB savings)

      coupons used:
      (4) $2 off Bic Triumph
      (4) $1 off Cafefree
      $8.99 ECBs

total: $1.01 ($.86 of that was tax)
and I got $17.14 in ECBs

The only poise lines that they had were opened, so I’ll have to go back on Tuesday (when they get their truck) and try to get them.

I love looking at my receipt and seeing my year to day savings. It’s at $573.74 right now! I’ve only been doing this since the free sales they had for Memorial Day weekend, so that’s only 3 months worth of savings! :D

I went to CVS this morning and did the definity face cleanser that is mentioned as one of Jenny’s deals. No EBs printed and the manager said that it was only for the more expensive Definity products (24.99). I just returned it all. Just a heads up!

    • Amanda she is only getting ecbs for the carefree 3.79, poise $1, and glade $3.

    • Bobbie

Taylor post #3. I had a coupon on two and they would only let me use it. Didn’t realize the coupon was for two. Other coupon I had was for purchase of one.

    • seacoastmom

To: The Leonards: Thanks for the Tip!

I bought the PlugIns Scented Oil Warmer that did not have the oil included. Regular cost was only $1.49 and my coupon said “up to 3.99 value” I didn’t think it would be included in the ECB deal but since it was free I thought I’d take a chance to up my $$ spent to make it to the next level :@)(Plus I had purchaced the refils so I needed the warmers). I ended up getting another Sense & Spray to get my next $3 ECB when I went back to pick up my Rx when the Pharmacy opened.

I’m hoping to do the Olay deal since I now have $13 ECB’s and a $4/20 coupon. Just gotta find those Olay MFG coupons so I can get it for almost free.

    • Jennifer

About the Olay Definity… I bought 2 this morning but the manager had to print the $12 ECB. There are no tabs on the Olay Cleanser or Pore Scrub that are $10.99 BUT their ad states at the bottom of the list of products that the Definity facial products are included.

    • Jennifer

Also, the accu-check was not programmed into the register for $10 but rang up for $19.99 instead. Just showed them the ad and they fixed it, but watch for that.

    • where are you located…i do not plan on doing the olay deal

    • Jennifer

      South Carolina – Aiken

    • Jennifer

I just asked about it. I never argue or act pushy about any of their ads or deals. I just asked and the manager (based on the ad) felt they were included.

    • Kim

Went to CVS last night. The manager was trying to get rid of the paper towels from last week – the big CVS brand, 8 rolls in each pack. He had 6 left. Normally $8.99, offered $.99 if we (my mother-in-law & I )would take them. I took 2, she took 2, and the cashier behind the counter took 2. Got back 4 ECB’s!!!!!

Spent more OOP than usual, but was starting with only 2 ECBs.
      I bought:
2 (8 roll) packages of CVS paper towels,
      (2) Aveeno shampoo
      (2) Aveeno conditioner
(1)travel size Aveeno lotion (thought it would count, didn’t, bummer)
      (1) Aveeno leave-in conditioner

      (3) comp books
      (2) twin packs of Clear Care
      (2) Glade Lasting Impressions

      (3) FREE Lasting Impressions (found inside scented oil packages)
      $33.98 in ECB
total OOP: $46.44 ($6.76 of that was tax)
and I got $17.05 in ECBs

    • Angel

#65 Christian’s Mommy/Angel – Please don’t tell me you live in the Charleston area. That would be toooooo freaky!

    • brittany

Prescription Coupon – Does anyone know where I can get a $25 gc with prescription coupon? I have the target one for $10, but was hoping to find one for the $25?

      Thanks! Happy couponing!!

    • Marie

Just got back from CVS! Didn’t do too bad considering I only had $5.00 in ECB’s and I’m still new at this! :)

      (1) Glade Sense & Spray
      (1) Glade Lasting Impressions

      New ECBs: $10.99

    • val

I hope someone will be able to answer my question. I just returned from CVS and I think I may be returning the Revlon products I just bought, the problem is though I was issued 7 ECB’s and I already used them on another purchase. How do you return an item that had ECB’s and they have been used? Do they refund the purchase price minus the ECB that were rewarded. I just have never had to return anything that I got ECB’s for, so I am not sure what to expect any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    • Dina

I am fairly new at this, but I think I am getting the hang of it. I went to 2 CVS’s this morning and made 4 transactions and this is what I got total.
      (2) Glade Sense and Spray
      (2) Packs of Mechanical Pencils
      (8) Poise (donating to homeless shelter)
      (3) Carefree Liners
      (10) Kotex Litedays (donating to homeless shelter)
      (1) Shicek Quattro for women
      (2)Accu-Check Aviva
      (2) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
      (1) Zyrtec Itchy Eyes
      (1) Highlighter
      (1) Pack of Binder Clips
      (2) Carmel Candies
      (2) Composition Books

      Total Cost: $156.42
      Total Savings: $153.80
Total OOP: $2.62 and got back $13.58 in ECBs making a profit of $10.96!

    • Lynda

$1 ECB wyb (2) Lipton or Izze iced Tea or Izze Juice 12-20 oz starting at $1.29 Limit 1
-$1 off any Lipton Tea any size “Raise your Hand for Savings” booklet

FYI…I tried this deal this morning in Carrollton, Ga and the register beeped using this Q. The cashier didn’t push it through because she said the Q was really only good for any size tea bags.

    • leigh

I had the same problem with the lipton tea coupon, I tried 2 different CVS’s and both times it beeped and they didn’t want to push it through either.

    • carol

I also had a problem with the Olay deal and the 12.00 in ECB’s not printing. I showed the clerk, she checked the ad and printed me an ECB for 12.00. I think they are included but regardless I got the ECB’s.

    • Jennifer #75… Darn! I debated and debated about whether to try the Olay cleansers b/c they weren’t marked in my store either; only all the expensive $24.99 items. The ad said Definity Facial CARE and one of the store workers in the aisle said it meant the serums and toning creams, not cleansers.

Should’ve taken them up and asked the front. Oh well. I ended up getting the Pepsis, Glade, and Mac & Cheese for $11 OOP, and got $5 ECB for next week. I’m ok with that considering we usually have to shell out $10-12 for that much in Pepsi anyway on a regular grocery run.

    • Joel

I had the same issue with the Lipton Tea coupon (from the “Raise Your Hand for Savings” booklet.) The cashier didn’t even try to enter it and said that they had tried using the coupon before and never got their $1 reimbursement from Unilever (Lipton) because it was meant to be used on boxes of tea bags.

    • Susan

Hey, all…newbie here…to get the max ECBs for each of the 4 (limit) Carefree Ultra pantiliners do you need to ring them separately, or will I be able to purchase 4 packs for $15.16 and receive all $15.16 in ECBs on the same ticket?

    • Cherise White

Is Walgreens and CVS the same as far as needing the same amount of items (or more) than you have coupons for? Do I need to worry about filler items at both?

    • Michaelene

I have returned items on which I had earned ECBs. I have offered to return them out of fairness but they have always told me to keep them. I get the impression that as far as the receipt is concerned they are not signaled by the computer that you had recieved ECBs and therefore are not taken into consideration for a return transaction.

    • Julie

The Olay deal didn’t work for me either. I was in a hurry and didn’t check my receipt ntil I got home. Should I try calling CVS or going back to the store? I guess if they don’t give me ECB’s I can return them? How does returning them work if used coupons on them? Does anyone know?

    • Christian’s Mommy

      #81 Angel

I live in Princeton WV, so were you referring to Charleston WV by chance?

    • David

The Definity Cream Cleanser $10.99 isn’t included in the EB deal. Not here in Cullman anyhow. :(

    • Rena

if I were u I would just install another internet explorer like mozilla or firefox I have all 3 on my computer because you never know sometimes IE just has a mind of it’s own and that’ very frustrating when u want to print a coupon. Good luck

    • Shanna

Juct want to thank Jenny for all her hard work. I saved around $50.00 this week at CSV alone! I LOVE THIS SITE!!:)

    • kelli

Susan (#94) – I bought all 4 at once and got $15.14 in ECBs.

    • kelli

Cherise White (#95) – you don’t have to buy the same number of items as you have ECBs. You can use as many EBCs as you want. I’ve used multiples on 1 item before.

    • ET

The Pepsi deal was not advertised nor available in my part of south metro Atlanta. Cokes were on sale instead, but no ECB’s with them! Messed up my plan, but it all worked out okay anyway.

    • just a little info-always follow your first instinct and pay attention to the cashier-I went to another cvs this afternoon with my “packet” together i had all my totals along with the ecb to be used. after handing over the coupon i gave the ecb. the cashier said it was too much and that the subtotal was $5 and change. i asked if he was sure because i know what i purchased and how much it costed. whatever, so i have him $5 ebcs instead and my oop was $2.49, let me repeat $2.49. when I got to the car i saw he did not ring up 4 reeses but he put the coupons through. although i got 4 reeses for -$1, it messed my grand plan up and i spent more oop, and i feel like i have taken 4 pieces of candy

    • Stacie

Went to CVS this afternoon and got:

      4 Carefree liners
      2 Poise liners
2 Composition notebooks (they were out of the sale ones, but the manager gave me the fancy ones, I didn’t even ask, he just offered!)
      2 Glade Sence and sprays

      Total before sales/coupons: $49.59

      (1)$5/Glade Sence & Spray
      (2) $2/Poise
      (2) $1/Carefree
      $13.99 ECB

      Total OOP: $2.52
      Total Saved: $47.07
      Left with: $21.14 ECB!!!!!!!!!!

To Dina, #88………. You are doing wonderfully! I’ve been couponing for about a year, CVSing for about 8 months or so and it seems that you are doing better than me! I’m still learning, I think it’s an ongoing process! Everyone knows of different deals, everyone knows of different coupons, etc, etc, etc, I don’t think you can ever learn too much about couponing! Keep up the great work!

    • SCYankee

Had a problem with the Olay Definity cleanser. At the register all coupons worked except it didn’t print up the ECB’s. The cashier called the manager over and he did an override to print the 12 ECB’s up. (Trolley Road, Summerville location). Also get the ready fill book from the pharmacy. It has $4/20. Use two accucheck coupons and that together for a total of $-4.00!

    • Dina

      Thanks (#106)Stacie!

    • BETH

My CVS also had to force ECBs for te Olay cleanser. The manager looked at the ad and agreed that according to the wording the cleanser should be included. I love my CVS. They are always so nice and say they look forward to seeing me each week and seeing the deals I get. I tell them I owe it all to Southern Savers!!!

    • valerie

1 cvs toothbrush (had coupon for free toothbrush from previous trip)

      1-$1 off clean/clear

      $21.16 ECB

      spent $2.13 OOP
      earned $8.98 ECB

Thanks for your amazing web site…couldn’t have saved so much without your hard work!

    • Jen

I have to CVS’s near my house (Charleston), so I can easily go to both to get the deals. I went with my poise internet printouts (8) ready to go and the cashier told that she could only take two. She said that recently she got in trouble because she was taking copied internet coupons. I told her they were all individual printouts and showed her the unique bar codes on the top. She still said no. I went to the other one near my house and they had no problem at all when I showed them all.
I was irritated because in all the commotion of the first CVS, one of the coupons got misplaced (which I found later today) and it ended up costing me extra OOP when I rang up.

Does anyone know if CVS will take a coupon after the sale has been made? I have my receipt and I can run it back by tomorrow morning if so. Thanks!

    • Angie

I had problems today with the Oil of Olay Definity Cleansers as my $12 ECB didn’t print at the end of my receipt. The gentleman that helped me was able to override it using the code on the CVS ad to print off the $12 ECB.
I came home and read some of these comments regarding the Cleansers not being part of this deal so my husband took both of them back to return them along with my $12 ECB.
The man who helped me was there when my husband went to return them and told us to keep the items as corporate wouldn’t have let him be able to override using the promotion code to print off the ECBs if the item wasn’t participating.
He said if corporate decides they no longer want the cleansers to be part of this weeks deal and they only intended for the $24.99 products to be part of the deal they will reset the system so that these ECB wouldn’t be able to print using the promotion code when buying the cleansers.

    • val

I have gone back in the store after realizing I forgot to use a coupon and they have refunded me cash.

    • Jen

Thank #113 -Just went back before they closed and got some cash! Good to know!

    • Ang

Wow, lots of comments here. Could I get some help figuring out the best way to buy Pure Protein bars? They are on sale B2G1 and I have two coupons for B1G1.Thanks for the help!

    • I, of course, had the same problem with the definity facial cleansers. The young manager said he would need to check with a regular manager. It seems as if they will override it. The ad seems to read as if it should work. Ethical dilemma? It should be ok according to the ad, right?

    • Susan

Thank you to kelli (#104) and to everyone here for posting your actual purchases, etc. This is my first week of couponing, and the real-life examples make this process sooooo much easier to understand!!!

    • dawn

Everyone who got the Definity cleansers overridden was lucky. After reading tonight, I thought I would go up and ask for my EBs. No way! The nice mgr was not there and this woman actually got upset that I asked for EBs when there was no sign on this product that stated EBs would be issued. When I pointed out the wording of the ad she still said, no way..it would be free!! I said not exactly but about half price. I wrote a note to corporate more because of her behavior than the EBs. I left there upset! Oh well!

    • Stellalunay2k

Did the Glade deal today and found a sweet surprise. When I got home, my boxes of the Sense & Spray each had additional coupons! $3 off strater kit (on sale for $5. I will be stopping back by tomorrow to do a second deal….two air freshener kits for a buk, woohoo!
Thank you so much, Jenny, for this site. When I first started couponing after I took the class at Cathedral, I wanted to wear a wig and glasses when I went in to shop. ijut could notbelieve that stores were going to let me do this. What a great blessing this has been for us!

    • Stellalunay2k

Sorry about all the typose above…it’s past my bedtime!

    • Stellalunay2k

Ugh! Typos!!! See what I mean?!

    • Jenny

my purchase was a total of:
      3 glade Sense and spray
      2 glade lasting impressions
      3 glade cande candle holders
      3 glade candle refills
      1 ladies speed stick
      2 poise pads
      2 carefree pads
1 clearance crest whitening toothpaste (free w/crt coupon)

With coupons, I rolled my $20 something ECB’s I had and left with over $30 in ECB’s :) I decided I’d never use that many and buy the entertainment center since we are closing on a house on Tuesday. I am still left with 11 ecb’s for next week. I saw the olay signs weren’t on the cleansers and decided not to fool with it.

    • LAO

Does anyone know if you have to pay an activation fee for the gift cards or are they sold at face value? THANKS!

    • Jenny

oh, my total OOP for my items and the entertainment center was under $4, with $11 ECBs left over.

    • What do you do when your plan doesn’t goes as planned & you have to improvise on the spot? My 3-$3.79 ECBs printed as a single $11.37 ECB…throwing a big wrench in my plan. — I’m debating on whether I should use my two remaining $10 off coupons to get 2 more Free Accu-checks. Who should I donate them to?

    • Christian’s Mommy

Does CVS automatically give you the $25 giftcard for transferring a Rx or do you have to have a coupon? And if so, where do I get that?

    • val

I bought some Revlon products that qualified for ECB’s and decided I did not need them, so I did my return today. I did tell them upfront that I had received ECB’s for the Revlon products I had bought, and that I had already used them on another purchase,so the Manager refunded me $7.00 less than the purchase price. I was wondering how that would work. I have a feeling that she could of refunded the whole amount, but she adjust the price of one of the products by $7.00. I am not sure if this is how they always do things or if she just does it this way at her store.

    • amy

Jack Links are at Walmart, right size and same exact price as coupon. Anyone know where to get the “Raise your hand for savings” book?

    • Freedom

I used my Jack Links at Walmart yesterday as well. They were pretty good. Awesome deal.

    • Scott

We did the Glade sense and spray deal yesterday (bought 2 glade sense and spray, and two refills, used 4 coupons and 2 ECBs we already had – received 3 ECBs). We got the coupons mentioned earlier in the box $3 of sense and spray and $1 off refils. My question, the deal in the weekly circular says “limit 3”. Is that three transactions or three items showing on your card. I.E. can I buy two more sense and sprays and two more refills again?

    • kelli

Scott – if the limit is 3 that means that you can only get the ECBs 3 times. So, if you spend $10, $20, or $30 on the correct items, you’ll receive $3, $6, or $9 in ECBs. If you spend $40, you won’t get any more.

    • We’re planning on buying $100 of the $25 gift cards – am I right that the limit is two deals, not two cards? If you use the $25 cards then it is a great deal, money for nothing. We’re taking money from savings and setting the cards aside for an emergency or Christmas, whatever comes first.

Jen, when I emailed you about giftcards deals, this is what I was talking about. I know Publix and Costco has done this in the past and it’s an awesome money saver.

We’re also taking advantage of the inkjet cartridge deal. If my store isn’t out of giftcards and I can combine those ECB’s with my $5/25 coupon and other ECB’s I might be able to get two inkjet cartridges for less than $10 out of pocket. Hopefully, my store isn’t out of everything because I can’t go until after lunch today.

    • Ryann

I wanted to do the Aveeno deal and get the diaper cream and hair products, but the diaper cream is $6.99. So if my total is $24.99, will the $10 ECB not print?

    • Ln

For those who helped me print the aveeno coupons, THANK YOU! I installed Firefox and was able to print 2 copies! YEA! You just don’t know how much I really like this shampoo and conditioner and you’ve helped make it more affordable. THANKS AGAIN!

    • Sarah Nichols

I did the Olay deal and my store wouldn’t give me the ECB the manager said it was only the $24.99 products that earned the $12 ECB. But I kept them because I love the stuff and I got two Olay Definity cleansers and the huggies wipes (I couldn’t find the wipes coupon but later found it on Aug 16 not sure which shopper) for $5 and something because I had $7.96 ECB from last week. No ECB to roll over though. I think after reading everyone elses Olay comments I might try to talk to another manager.

    • emily

Just out of curiosity…has any else encountered upset cashiers when they see how little you are paying at the end of a transaction? I have encountered this twice now (no problems with coupons or anything). They almost seem upset and hardly say ‘thanks have a nice day’ at the end. One of them didn’t say anything, just handed me the bag. Just wondering. Thanks.

    • Angel

#98 Christian’s Mommy – No, we are in Charleston, SC – not Charleston, WV. Funny thought, though!

    • Tina

      Emily #136

I get the same treatment. It is like they resent you for getting a good deal and they make you feel like you are doing something wrong. Every once in a while I actually get a cashier that is excited for me and some even say “how did you do that” or “I will go shopping with you anytime” but these are few and far between.

    • Mary W

Beware of the HP cartridges. The 2 that fit my printer were $35.00 each. I had 2 $5 off 25 coupons, that helped, but at the end of the day, it was only a decent deal. I purchased them in 2 transactions to use the coupons, and the 10 ECB’s printed out on the second transaction.

    • Got ECBs?

Mary (# 139): That would make them $25 each, if my math is correct. I would weigh that deal with the regular price at a wholesale club (Sam’s, Costco, etc.), Wal Mart, Walgreens, or elsewhere before buying an expensive item like cartrdges. UNLESS you have lots of ECBs to burn (from all the money makers) that makes them free or way cheap.

    • Katie

How do you get $81 in CVS money this week? Are you just doing the Grand Plan over and over again?

    • Rachel

$51 Kim: The “MAGIC COUPON MACHINE” is usually in front of the store with a big red sign hanging from the ceiling pointing down to it. It is also a price checker and when you scan items it tells you the regular price and the price with card (which is helpful for checking if an item counts toward ECBs).

Here’s where the MAGIC is: When you scan your Extra Care Card, it spits coupons out the side! These are CVS coupons that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons! Often $/$$ coupons print as well! Be sure to scan your card twice (or as many times it takes for it to say “No Coupons Available – Check Back Tomorrow”). Best of all, you can use a manufacturer coupon, a CVS coupon (sometimes called s CRT), AND the $/$$ coupon all on the same transaction – same item if the price is high enough. Just BE SURE to always hand the cashier the $/$$ FIRST before handing over any others. HTH!!

So basically the ecb’s are offsetting the fee, you are only saving a penny. The ad does say terms, fees and conditions may apply, but this still has me a little peeved.

Our inkjet cartridges were also waaayyy overpriced and even with ecb’s, $7/off $49 coupon or $5/25 and their own ecb it didn’t seem worth it. I can still do better at Cartridge World.

    • The more I think of that high activation fee, the more irritated I get – especially since AM EX charges retailers very high fees when customers use their credit cards. My sister regularly buys AM EX gift cards so this is a money saver for folks like her. But I am going to suggest that she shop around and compare prices on gift card activation fees.

    • emily (#136)
My CVS ladies are great! They are happy for me, and like that I go to the back of the line when people are waiting. They say that they learn from me, and like that I give my extra ‘stuff’ to a family violence shelter. (I picture the kids leaving their old home with a toothbrush ONLY. I hope they like all the new school stuff – even if it is usually CVS brand!)

    • Rachel

Most of my CVS ladies (and guys!) are great. One manager sometimes asks me what my haul was this trip! :) There is one lady at one CVS that is a royal Ms. Nasty-Pants when it comes to everything – coupons, rain checks, she even said they couldn’t adjust an ECB down to the remaining amount! (Manager nearby corrected her immediately – she didn’t like that.) I avoid her and usually check out in the pharmacy if she is the only one up front. Overall, MOST people I deal with are used to me by now paying little – if anything – for my weekly visits. I just “recycle” my ECBs and coupons for merchandise!

I bought exactly what you bought !! Also, the single scented oil refills each have a coupon in their boxes for a FREE Lasting Impressions holder !!!! 10.99 value !!! I already did the deal twice today, but I am definitely stopping back there tomorrow for my 3rd time… and I will get 2 Lasting Impression warmers absolutely free and receive $3 ecbs for doing it !!!! LOVE CVS !!!!!!!!!

    • Jami

If I buy (2) Glade Lasting Impressions & (2) Glade Sense and Sprays in the same transaction, will I receive (2) $3 ECBs for buying $10 worth twice? Just trying to see if I can do it in one or not.

The “magic coupon machine” at the Ladson, SC, CVS store has never given me any coupons. Every time I scan my card it says “No coupons, check back tomorrow.” I’ve tried at least three different times. Wonder what the secret is to getting coupons …

    • Jen S

I’ve always paid a $5 activation fee for AMEX giftcards- this isn’t specific to CVS, everyone charges a fee (I’d like to say that it used to be $3.95, but has gone up over the past few years). Most Visa gift cards also have an activation fee.

    • kelli

I wish that I had a magic coupon machine in my store. None of the 3 stores in my area have one… :(

    • kelli

Jami (#148) – If you buy $20 worth of stuff, you’ll get a $6 ECB.

    • Tracy

Just wanted to thank you Jenny for all your help! I have started 3 of my family members on couponing and your site is the first place I send them! I even ran into a professional shopper in Walmart and told her about your site.
I haven’t had a chance to do this yet still waiting for coupons from family. Here is what I am going to do with the Glade deal.

      (4) Glade Sense & Spray Starter Kits $5 each =$20

-$4/$20 coupon from the Autofill coupon book
      (4) -$4 coupons from the 8/23SS or All You mag.
      Pay tax = 7% aprox. $1.40
      Get back $6ECB

      –Final cost FREE +$6 moneymaker!

    • Jana

just tried the *deal* for olay difinitey face cleanser and it did not print ECB. Do not try this one

    • meagan

any coupons for the xtra laundry detergent out there?

    • Meg

      Katie (#141)
      It’s $8, not $81.

    • Amy

Does anyone have a coupon for the Accu-Chek Aviva Blood Glucose Meter? I just found out my cat has diabetes and need to purchase this. Thanks!

    • I found an unpublished deal! My Knoxville CVS stores have the Irish Springs or Softsoap Nutriserum Bodywashes on sale for $4.99 and are giving back $2 ECB. Pair that with the printable coupon for $2 off any Softsoap or Irish Springs (if you still have them) and it’s $.99. The tags say Limit 1 but I bought 2, got $4 ECB, and can buy at least one more according to my receipt.

Also, I found a GREAT coupon HERE for the Aveeno (credit Hip2Save, link is also in my CVS post)….. Basically it’ll spit out 3 coupons, with one being $10 off 3 Positively Ageless products. Buy 3 of the Ageless Cleansing pads, use a $5/$25, and you pay abt $12 for them. If you use any ECBs towards it, these will be FREE plus some after the $10 ECB spits out.

    • Indi

The 10.99 Definity Cream Cleanser at my local CVS store did not have an ECB tag on it. I asked the manager about it and it looks like it reads Regenerist cream…. So if I tried it, would it still work in the register system? Has anyone done this deal yet?

    • Debra

I have a question, I’m still learning about the ECB program and I was wanting to purchase the 4 packs of soda and use most of my Extra Care Bucks but it’s not enough of care bucks, can I use what I have and then add some money to the total? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    • lynn

yes debra you sure can ecb work more like cash you can also use manf. coupons with them have fun i know i love the cvs deals i get for next to nothing and sometime nothing ..

    • lynn

i was told after i purchased it that the olay definity was not part of the deal for the ecb the ad does read verry deceptive on that one i used ecb to pay for it thinking i was going to get ecbs back now it seems i am out my buck.. my question would be can i return it for store credit if i used ecbs to buy it?Also everyone please check dates when making food drink purchases the lipton tea was a week out of date…

    • Debra

      Hi, Lynn
I wanted to say thank you for answering my question.

    • i did not get the olay definity ECB to print- I called Corporate and the lady said she would get back to me on whether it counted or not… but it does not look like it..
      oh well
Thanks soo much for all you do Jenny!

    • lynn

yw debra just watch the dates on your ecbs they expire but most of the time you will have a few weeks try to roll them when you can again have fun cvsing

    • Debra

Help Please? Can I use my $4 off purchase of $20 coupon with a $4.00 extra care coupon together on a transaction?

      • Jenny

Debra you can use them together. I’m guessing that you are meaning a $4 extra care buck?

    • If your store does not have a coupon machine then have the cashier scan your card to print out coupons before you start your shopping – just in case you get a good coupon you’ll want to use.

When my store machine says it’s not printing coupons it’s either out of paper or needs repairing.

    • Debra

      Hi, Jenny
Thank you for your help and you guessed it right, I meant to say extra care buck instead, but any how thanks again.

    • My store says you have to purchase something to get coupons. :-( They won’t scan it for me otherwise.

    • kelli

My store won’t scan my card without a purchase either. =

    • Rachel

Angel #149: It will not print them if the machine is out of paper. I scanned my card at one machine (the CVS closest to my home has two) and it said none available. I scanned the other machine and it gave me two coupons. To check if machine is out of paper, scan any item the hit the button on the bottom. It should print a ticket with the price on it. If it doesn’t, ask someone to put paper in the machine and get your COUPONS!! HTH! Good luck! :)

    • I registered my NEW CVS card this morning and I didnt get the $4 off $20 coupon??? Also if I am just starting the cvs-ing is the first thing I need to do it try and go buy one of the deals you have listed?? If I understand right I just need to earn some ecb right? Also are you ONLY buying from cvs the things that give back the bucks?? Thanks!

    • kelli

      Kara –

it might take a little while for your $4 off $20 coupon to come in your email. I know it took probably a month for mine to show up. They also told me in the store that I’d get one coupon per time I filled out the thing that prints off at the register… that’s not true. When I called the number on my card they told me that you only get ONE coupon for registering. I was pretty mad to find this out because I filled it out 10 times thinking that I’d be able to get some good deals.

Also, I can’t speak for everyone else but I mostly buy the deals that are free after ECBs of close to free. Obviously the best deals are the ones where stuff is free and you’ve got a coupon for it. I do every once in a while buy some stuff that doesn’t offer ECBs, I’ve gotten a few shampoos that were bogo and had a mail in rebate (making both free after rebate), I’ve gotten 2 flashlights that my fiance was desperate to have, and I always check the clearance stuff (you never know what you’ll find there).

I’ve only been doing this since the end of May and I’m not nearly as good as Jenny or many of the other people on here but I almost always feel pretty good about my shopping trips. I usually buy everything in one transaction so my out of pocket isn’t as low as others. I’d say I usually pay $1-$2 per week, sometimes much less. And currently I’ve got about $40 in ECBs that cycle through, using the biggest ones that are expiring the soonest. I wish that I could play the game where you’ve got $5 of so ECBs each week because of the different transactions and pay cents out of pocket but I’m too impatient. When I look at my receipts I’ve spent $35 and saved $650. So, all in all, I’m doing great.

Sorry for the long comment. :)

    • Livininatl

I purchased three Aveeno items today, $7.00, $8.99 and $8.99. At the bottom of the receipt it says…

      Amount towards this reward 24.98
Amount Needed to Earn Reward .02

BUT it printed out my $10, What does this mean if I want to do the deal again, does the system think I only need .02 to qualify for another $10?

    • Thanks for the tips!!!! Wow great savings!!!! Hopefully I will figure it out soon! =0

    • kelli

Livininatl – I think that the system give it to you if your within a few cents. I have no idea what that number is but I know a few weeks about when the had the band-aid deal (where if you bought $10 worth, you got $4 ECBs) I got my ECBs when I was at something like $9.95. Out of curiosity I bought another item to see if I’d get more ECBs and I didn’t. I’d say that you’ve gotta spend another $25 to get more but I don’t know for sure.

    • janet

I tried to buy 2 $25 AmEx gift cards for the $5 ECB and found out there is a $3.95 additional charge per card…so I asked the cashier to cancel that transaction. I guess I don’t get out much…I didn’t know there was a charge for a gift card…I thought they were sold at face value.

      J & J kits

I remember last week some of you posted about J & J first aid kits being around $1, but all I am able to find are large type kits for about $9. Are there 2 sizes and I’m just not seeing it?

    • Jessie

      $10/3 Aveeno coupon –
is anyone else having problems printing the $10 off when you buy 3 Aveeno products? it says my coupons are ready at the printer but they are not printing :(. Ive tried the IE and FF links, and even tried it on my husbands computer as well with no luck.

I LOVE Aveeno products b/c I have extremely sensitive skin – I really want to be able to take advantage of the CVS Aveeno deal if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions….

    • Rachel

Kara: I also have LOTS of ECBs, but it didn’t start that way. What I do is buy all I can that is free, and every overage possible even if I don’t need it or can’t use it. If it is something I don’t want or use, I donate it somewhere. I increase my ECBs whenever possible.

One useful tip is to buy multiple of the same items in seperate transactions so you don’t wind up with large ECB amounts. For example: buy one of the Carefree Ultra, and get one ECB for $3.79. Then (if you don’t have coupons) use the $3.79 ECB for another Carefree purchase, getting another $3.79 ECB. By doing it like this, you have less OOP.

If you have coupons for the Carefree, buy another ‘deal’ in the same transaction that you would have some OOP even with coupons, like the Glade. Buy one Carefree and two Glade, use three coupons, spend $4.79 OOP and get $6.79 in ECBs.

If you buy all of the Carefree at once, you have an ECB for $15.16. I find it better for me if I have many smaller ECBs than fewer larger ones because then I don’t have to buy more stuff that does not generate ECBs or lose them by adjusting them down when my CVS runs out of ‘deals’ due to the many couponners in my area. If you have a $15.16 ECB, you have to buy that much merchandise next time or lose it because they don’t give more ECBs in change.

    • Rachel

      Christian’s Mommy #179:
Yes, there are two sizes. The smaller travel kits (priced at 99 cents and pictured in last week’s ad) are in a white case a little bigger than a deck of cards and are with the sample and travel sizes, usually hanging on a pegboard over the bins. Hopefully you find them before the next great J&J deal!

    • Lindsey

Ok, i printed the qs from the CVS site but they don’t show anywhere that they are from CVS. They look like regular Manu qs. I can’t stack these with manu qs right? I’m still trying to figure out this whole thing and how you pay so little oop! I got 2 poise deals… I printed the pads too instead of liners. UGH! I’m mad at myself for that one!

      I got
      2 poise liners
      2 comp books
      (2)-$2 poise qs
PAID .48 OOP (this was tax so would you still say it was oop?)
      and 1.98 in ecbs
Got back $1 ECB for liners, 1.98 for comp books….
I suppose not bad for my first purchase using qs and ecbs. starting small and working my way to the fun stuff! My dh was pretty happy to see my reciept said $10 in savings!

    • LindaB

Just got a freebie from CVS in an email. It’s a free gift “Your Choice” coupon valued at $1.69 for CVS liquid handsoap or a 1.5 oz. bag of Gold Emblem Nuts. It has to be used before Sunday. Not a big “deal” so I won’t make a special trip (but if it’s free it’s for me) so my next trip out I’ll swing by and use my coupon.

    • Debra

I have a question about the sense & spray starter kit, I have the 2- $4 coupons and it says total due is $2.00, I have a 1.98 extra care buck can I use that and add the 2 cents and still get the extra care bucks on this purchase? I was also wondering is there usually tax on these items? I’m still learning about these extra care bucks. I appreciate any help, thanks.

    • Debra

A question I forgot to ask earlier, can I purchase all 4 of the carefree ultra protection pantiliners in 1 transaction and get all of my extra care bucks then?

    • Shiloh Kennedy

Does anyone know….Why is it that when I try to print coupons that I have never printed before…off coupone websites… I get a message that states I have already printed that coupon the number of times allowed???

    • Tiffany

Yes, you can buy all 4 carefree liners at once, but it will print out 1 ECB of $15.16. If you buy them in different transactions, it will print $3.79 x how ever many you bought in the transaction. Does this make sense?

    • Tiffani

      Glade deal:
      (3) glade sense & spray
      (3) glade lasting impressions

use $5/$25 coupon printed on my receipt
      (3)$4/sense & spray
      (3)$3/lasting impressions
      $1.89 & $1.99 ECB
      $0.12 oop
      get back $9 ECB

    • Misty

I am attempting to buy the energizer batteries for 7.99.

My question is how many coupons can I use?

      Here is my scenerio:

buy 3 energizer rechargeables at 7.99 each
      use 3 $1.00 off coupons
      use a $4.00 off $20 coupon
use 7.58 in ECB from the carefree transaction
      Total due 9.38
      Get back 5 ECB

Can I use all of those coupons in this transaction? Normally you can not have more coupons than items in the transaction, but did not know if the cvs coupon counted.

    • Tarrah R.

Comments #37 and 38- Don’t know if this got answered, but thoae Jack Links coupons from All You, you can find at Wal-Mart-mine were found near check-out. They are tiny, already cooked ‘nuggets’; not that great in the taste dept. but if you have a kid that’ll eat anything, or a hubby at that, it’ll be worth it for FREE! also- if you live in FL or Carolina’s- it’d be great to stick in your hurricane survival kit. Good luck and God Bless! ;-)

    • Lindsey

I found the nuggets at walmart near the chips. Hubby said they taste like dog food. lol. He still ate the whole bag. So it was worth FREE.

    • Lindsey

      Oh PS-
Found a speed stick coupon for $1.50 off. You can print ONE at coupons.com
      zip code 33907
      and another at 33909

      Makes deos free.

    • Angel

Rachel #172 – Thanks for answering my question. I will definitely try this next time I am in the store. Makes sense, now that I know. :)

    • Kim

My daughter had a severe allergic reaction to something this past week and I had to switch out all of my soaps and shampoos for her. My mom and I went to CVS last night and got the following…(two transactions using both our CVS Cards.

      1 Aveeno Soap
      1 Aveeno Body Wash
      1 Aveeno Face Scrub
      1 Aveeno Exfoliating
      1 Aveeno Lotion
      1 Aveeno Anti Itch cream
      2 Poise Pads

      10 ECB
      (2) 4/20 Autofill
      10 off 3 Aveeno
      (3)2 off 1 Aveeno
      3/12 CVS Purchase
      (2)2 off Poise Pads

      Paid 0.36 OOP
Made $11 in ECB’s. I am very happy because Aveeno is expensive and I actually made some money! Again…thanks Jenny…my mother wasn’t a believer until she saw it with her own eyes!

    • Debra

      Hi, Tiffany
Thanks for answering my question. I think I might due the transactions separately.

    • Debra

      Hi, Shiloh
I was reading your question and I think it means that when the coupons are all gone there isn’t anymore available so no one can print any until there’s new coupons again. I always print new coupons when I see them even if I’m not going to use them right away I will have them for later use. I’m sorry you didn’t get the coupons that you wanted.

    • dclark

I often buy items to pass on or share. There is one cashier at my store that always makes remarks like ” I don’t buy things I don’t need or use.” I don’t know why it bothers her. I pass my extras to family and friends and I usually have to “remind” her of this since I have told her this many times. I guess she’s not concerned about keeping her job. Without customers and sells, they wouldn’t need her.

    • Vikki

I get so frustrated when I go to CVS to get all of these awesome deals and have the items not be there. There must be a lot of Southern savers shopping around where I live lol. So today I got lots of rain checks :)
