Here are the CVS Deals for 2/22-2/27. This is one of the slowest weeks at CVS in a long time. I confess I am sitting this week out. Not even the possibility of a free Cadbury egg entices me. The Grand Plan is a repeat from 2/08 for anyone that has not done the monthly deals or is just starting out. If you’ve already done the monthly deals just stay home.

    • I might get another Gamer razor and look for more Mylanta and J&J pads, but that’s it, probably …

    • Amy

I’m brand new to this and just found out about your website. I’ve read the CVS start guide twice but I’m still a little confused! I already have my card and everything. I signed up but haven’t received my coupon yet. Here’s what I don’t get: when I buy something that’s on sale, do I have to use the ECBs that I earn for that SAME item or can they be used on anything? Thank you!!

    • Sarah

I am starting out doing ECB deals at CVS. The problem is they seem to always be out of alot of the items I am attempting to buy. Do you get rainchecks in that case? How do you get the ECBs after the promotional period is over with a raincheck? Are you shopping when the store opens on Sunday morning?

I am getting frustrated with the items being out of stock alot of the time.

    • Jenny

You will get the ECB after your purchase the item that is on sale (if it says get $3 ECB etc.) You can use those ECB on any purchase excluding alcohol and a few other things. The best bet is to use them to buy other ECB producing items so that you can always get ECB back.

You can get rainchecks for any item they are out of. They will staple the add to the raincheck and then when you do buy the item it will print the ECB. If there are a lot of deals that I want for a week I actually go to a non 24 hour store Saturday evening after 6pm, because they start printing all the ECB deals early. You can shop both the current week and the next week and get both weeks ECB.

    • Sunny

Great site! Thanks so much! I sort of found it by way of a rabbit trail from a google search! :) I have a quick question… What’s the strategy for asking for them to “downgrade” the ECB in purchase #3?

    • Jenny

Sunny – if you mean how do I ask them? I just innocently say “Can you just enter the ECB for the amount that I owe rather than the full amount?” They always say yes and do it.

If you mean why do I do it? It is 2 cents less and I would rather lose 2 cents on the ECB than have to through in a 50 cent filler item. While I love the candy I don’t need it!

    • Tracy

Ok This Cvs buying totally flusters me because I go in with a plan and then they never have the stuff so I can never refigure another plan without getting flustered. I did the colgate purchase this week for the first time and tried to do the bar soap but went to 4 different cvs ‘s and they didn’t have them. When I scanned me card got a five dollar off 30 dollar purchase plus I have 5.98 in ecb from the toothpaste what do I do?

    • Jenny

This is a tough week to use the $5 off $30, but I’m guessing it expires soon…

I would print the full list and walk the store trying to find any of the monthly free items. It you can’t find any of them then I would honestly just let the $5 coupon go and save your ECB for a better week.

If you can get close to $30 then use some the .13 cent toothpast (after coupons) as filler items to get you to the $30.

    • Tracy

Thanks, and by the way I recommend your site to EVERYONE!~ Thanks for all your hard work!

    • penni

Jenny, I do not understand the “Balance” statement on my receipt. I purchased the Energy Shot already but my receipt says “Quantity Toward Purchase 1″ and Quantity Needed to Earn Reward 1” It does not say offer reached. That seems to mean the limit is 2.

On the Johnson & Johnson, I purchased 2 but my receipt says “quantity toward reward 2” and “quantity needed to earn reward 1”. That seems to mean the limit is 3, not 5.

I want to do 2 more J&J and one more Energy shot if I can but I’m just not sure based on this receipt. What do you think?

    • Jenny

The energy shot you are able to get another one this week. It is advertised in the weekly flyer and seems to have been reset.

The Johnson and Johnson deal what it is say is that you have to buy 1 to earn the ecb’s and that you have already bought 2, the limit is 5, so you can buy 3 more.

    • Susan

      Sunny and Jenny,

Funny story about asking for a downgrade. Asked the manager, (with so many layoffs, lots of managers are running registers these days), one day to downgrade and he said is was impossible. I told him I had no cash to pick up an extra item. He said, “no problem”, left the register, picked up a $1.98 candy bar and gave it to me for the .09 left on my EBC.

    • susan

susan, you were one lucky girl to get a 1.98 candy bar for .09. i don’t think that would work for me since i am known for paying for my purchases with a gc after ecbs. and sometimes i even forget to use my ecbs. i have been able to get them to downgrade my ecbs. why pick up a filler or candy bar or something that you really don’t need. it costs you. somethings the ecb is only 1 0r 2 cents over. i hope the candy bar was one that you like. i am sure that you can find someone to give it to.

    • Sunny

Ok, I see why. Today I added 6 candy bars! lol. (Well, they were Hershey’s bars and I’ll use them for something.) I’m only on my second trip on “the plan” (lol) and I’m still feeling out the CVS by my office.
Yesterday I went in with no ECB’s or coupons and got 2 earinse, 1 asprin, 1 6hrNRG. Spent $24 oop. Got 22.96 ECB
      Today I bought colgate (4oz at 2.99 -1.50 coupon + 2.99 ECB = +1.50), Gillette Shampoo (4.99 – $2 coupon + $3ECB = +$.01), gillette gamer power (7.99 – $4q + $4ecb = +$.01), Bodiheat (3.99 + $3ecb = -.99 I forgot to use the $1off now coupon, but I’ll use it tomorrow.) Then I added the 6 candy bars. Used my $15.98ECB and added $.08. Got $13 ECB.
My total ECB’s are basically $20. yay!

    • Sunny

Can I stack a store coupon and a manufacturer’s? I have a $2 off any cosmetic coupon and I was wondering if I can use it and the $1off for the Maybelline Volume XL Seduction Lipstick or Lip gloss. Making it $.99 after the $5 ECB. Would that work? Could I do that?

    • Jenny

Yes you can!! That’s a great plan.

    • Sunny

      YAY! Another quick one…
the $10 ecb on $20 of Revlon, is that $20 before or after coupons?

    • Jenny

Yep, any ECB deal is always before coupons. Don’t get to excited now…

    • Sunny

lol, ah… breathe in, breathe out…
      How south are you?
      I’m in Savannah.

    • Jenny

Columbia SC, though I used to live in Savannah and had two of my children there.

    • Sunny

Oh fun! FIL used to play for USC. We drive through Columbia every now and then. I miss the Smokey Bones and their BBQ Chicken Nachos!
I grew up on Jekyll Island, but I love Savannah!

    • Sunny

Oh, gosh, it’s Sunday! GTG to bed!

    • Ellie

You can buy cheap cereal at CVS this week. Trail Mix Crunch is BOGO at $4.59. If you go to Trailmixcrunch.com you can download two $2 coupons and get two boxes for 30 cents each.

Anyone know where you can find the Cadbury Egg coupon tearpads?

    • scott

yes…i am a guy. been doing couponing for many years. use to live in san diego where compitition was so strong that every week somebody had triple. me, my wife and 3 kids live in southern il. we have krogers, cvs, and walgreens and as a added bonus, we have schnucks. they are based out of st. louis. there is only 1 in so. il. it is in carbondale. just 5 miles from me. they double up to .50 with no limits. we go on ebay on sundays and buy coupons for the sale items at kroger and schnucks each week. sometimes buying as many as 200 of 1 coupon. we then have 2 yard sales a year , which are famous in my area. we will have 100 people here at 7 am. we have made over 4,000.00 before. enough about that….i have a question. im new to this site and have never done walgreens or cvs . with cvs, when it says “limit 1” does that mean per transaction or does it mean per card. in other words, can buy a limit 1 item more then 1 time just by making seperate transactions? thanks for a answer. oh, where will i even go to find your answer? guess i better look. oh and our best find ever was last summer at schnucks they had a gen. mills cereal and betty crocker fruit snack promotion….buy 5 boxes and get 8.00 reward coupon towards next purchase and recieve 2 free movie passes to see any warner bros movie that came out over next 4 months, plus we had manf. coupons lots of them, to make a long story short…we bought 0ver 3000 boxes of cereal and fruit snacks, sold most of it at y. sale at 1.00 box and sold the movie vouchers on ebay and made over 4,000.00 so schnucks paid us about 7 grand to take there grociers from them

    • Hannah

ECB’s are confusing to me still. I just started trying to work this out the last few weeks. The ECB’s that print on the bottom of the receipt, I have to bring that in when I want to use it? Also, what if I have 2, can I still use them? I’ve read the CVS guide and still get a little confused. They also seem to be out of most of the stuff when I go to the store’s along with whats in the ad, isn’t marked on the shelves.

    • Brooke

When I was in CVS on Friday the magic coupon machine printed a $2 off Stayfree and $2 off carefree coupon. These coupons will make stayfree and carefree free after the $2 monthly EBC deal. Can also be money maker with the manufacturer’s printable coupon 50 cents off carefree coupon. Can also get 2 free stayfree with the $2 off 2 coupon in today’s paper. Maybe someone else will get lucky and get these coupons too!

    • Anne

I am still not sure I understand the downgrading completely. Is is because If I have a $3 ECB, I can not use it to buy $2.99 worth of stuff? I have to spend $3.00 or more?

    • Ashley

I receive the SS and RP in my Sunday paper. As I read through the coupon deals on this site, I noticed that there is a deal that says there is a coupon for $.75 off colgate toothpaste listed in the S.S. 2/01. Well, I pulled out my SS and tried to find that coupon but it isn’t in my SS from 2/01…now this happens all the time…Can you tell me why?

    • Toni

Jenny ,I found a $2.off Viva Towels 2pk or larger at K-mart last night. It was one of their flyers. At top it says Manufacturer’s coupon but at bottom it says Redeemable at K-mart.Does not say “only” ….so can I use this coupon at CVS?

    • FYI

      Renuzit TriScents Air Freshener, $5.49
      Get $2 ECBs (limit 5)
$4/1 Renuzit TriScents Starter Kit, exp. 4-30-09 (SS 2/22/09)
Better than FREE after coupons and ECBs!

    • Jenny

Anne- You do have to spend equal to or more than an ECB to use it technically.

Ashley – Yes you can use that at CVS without a problem since it is a manufacturer coupon.

    • wow scott-my groc store does not have 3000boxes of cereal if you counted them ALL

    • Angie

I am still so confused about reaching the ECB when you are using them. Today I went to get one of those triple air freshners, well I gave them the coupon, they said 2.00 was due. I gave them 2.00 in ECB then they said I had to buy something else, I was at a 1.40, so I pick up M@M’s at the front counter and I ended up owing .79cents. so what did I do wrong ? Im confused on how to keep from having to pay anything out of my pocket ?

    • Brooke

Is anyone else having issues printing the 7UP coupon? I’ve tried a couple different computers and it keeps telling me I’ve already reached the print limit, even though I haven’t printed any.

    • crystal

where do you find the cvs brand beauty coupon books?

    • Jenny

Brooke – the coupon has probably reached it’s print limit, I’ll take it down.

The beauty book coupons are found in the reinventing beauty magazine near the front of the store. It costs .99 cents but has 12-13 coupons in it. Makes for a great filler item if you need it.

Angie – you can only use an ECB on total due before tax so because you owed $1.40 the system wouldn’t take your ECB. You added the candy (next time add a reinventing beauty to get coupons) and that brought you above $2 so you could use the ECB, after that you still had to pay the tax on your total. That is where the .79 cents probably came from. If the cashier hits the tax button after your ECB then you will pay tax on nothing, but most of them hit it before any coupons so you pay tax on full total amount.

    • Brooke

I actually looked on HCW and it pointed me to 7UP.com. I was able to register and print the $1 off coupon.

    • Tracy

I bought a razor last week and this week they have the same offer again. Does the limit one per card start over meaning can I buy another and get the 4 ecb again?

    • Jenny

I’m pretty sure it is a monthly deal so you are only able to get one. You can buy something else though and see if it still says offer reached on your receipt for that offer.

    • Melissa

I have a “Save $3 on any 2 Shampoo, Conditioner or Hair Styling purchase” coupon that printed on the bottom of my receipt.

I also have a “Save $1 off any Fruitopia hair care” coupon I got from scanning machine.

Can I buy 2 Fruitopias and use both of the store coupons at the same time, or will it only let me use one?

    • Rebecca

      Hi there,
Well I made my first trip to CVS and I have to say that it did not go as planned:

Gillette Shampoo was 5.99 not 4.99
Tooth paste was 2.99 but no ECBs (they had $2 ECB on the 4.99 size)

They were out of the Asprin, and I only got 2 of the three tri-scents I wanted but I will check back for sure before the end of the week!

All in all it was successful but VERY annoying and the clerk was less than helpful or friendly, but when you walk away with $47 of products for $9 and have $5 ECBs left for next time I will take the dirty looks and frustration!
      2…$2 = $4 ECB wyb Renuzit Triscents
1…$4 = $4 ECB wyb Gillette Fusion Gamer
      2…$5 = $5 ECB wyb (2) Nyquil, Dayquil
2…$3 = $6 ECB wyb Gillette Shampoo or Conditioner

      Used $16.50 in manufactures coupons

    • Amanda

Jenny, I know that you said that this week at CVS was very slow, but I have to tell you that my total bill was right at $55, and I spent $2.44 OOP after coupons and ECB, and I still came home with $13 more in ECB!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! My husband didn’t believe that it could be done, but let me tell you, he’s a believer now!!

    • Kristie

I have seen people refer a “scan machine”… What is this.. Where is it located?

    • Jenny

Some stores have these and some do not so don’t go crazy looking for it. This is a little red or blue machine that is a price scanner and usually in the middle of the store somewhere. You can use it to check prices or you can scan your card and it will print coupons!
