Tomorrow,April 22nd, is Earth Day.  Since being green is cool right now, there are lots of places giving things away or celebrating the day.

I have tried to make a complete list, if you know of anything else comment and I’ll add it to the list.

  • Free Strawberry Lemonade at O’Charleys Restaurants Dine-in only. (Technically for Administrative Professionals week)

  • Free Nail Polish – From Butter London, to the first 500 visitors to their site on Earth Day. The giveaway begins at 11:00 A.M. EST.

  • Get your FREE Resuable Shopping Bag on April 22nd at any Walgreens or Fresh & Easy Stores
**this is a new coupon on their site that is legitimate – thanks Julieanne**

Concerning the free nail polish….How will i know where to go? Or how do I know what to buy to get it for free..a code ?? Is there shipping fees?? Thanks a ton!

      • Jenny

There is supposed to be a pop up telling you that you are one of the select 500.

    • Hi Jenny. The free gift from the Disney Store isn’t a tote bag. I know their ad is misleading, but all it says is “free gift.” The free gift is a reusable water bottle. I got this information from Sisterly Savings: http://sisterlysavings.net/2009/04/free-reusable-disney-tote-bag

I was disappointed, too. The tote bag is cool.

I love your site and know you are very honest and don’t promote improper coupons, but I think the Walgreens coupons shouldn’t be posted. This benefit is supposed to be for WAGS employees. They get sent a letter with several “friends and family” cards to hand out to people they want. I don’t think it was their intention for these coupons to be circulated on the internet like this.

Even SlickDeals forums makes it seem shifty by saying “Walgreen managers are very lenient. Walgreens isnt like bestbuy or frys where sometimes you need the original copy. To be honest, the employees will just accept it. Just tell them that your friend who works at walgreens is passing along to all his friends and made copies. Totally acceptable.”

Also “Make sure to go to the cosmetic counter when checking out since this is the same thing as employee discount. All they do is push the employee discount button and ring you up so you dont need to give them anything to scan. Just quickly show them the 15% off friends and family and put it away. They dont need to accept it.”

This is lying and I don’t think it’s acceptable to do, regardless of what they say on this site.

I didn’t post the Walgreens coupon, just the free bag deal which is supposed to be running without the need of a coupon according to many on the web. I have gotten to many copyright emails from CVs recently and will no longer post any drugstore coupons that are hosted on my site. CVS won’t even let me link to a coupon on their own site.

    • Amy

any ideas on my question earlier about the nail polish???

    • Julieann

Okay, great….every thing I saw on the bag said it was part of the Friends and Family deal, that you had to scan that card to get the bag. I’ll check it out tomorrow at my WAGS! Thanks for the quick response and checking into it…..I hate it when I see people on those forums promoting the use of coupons improperly! Makes us all look bad.

    • Melody

Jenny, love your website, I check it everyday for your deals. Thanks for all of your help. My duaghter and I just started about 2 weeks ago and you have saved us alot of money with all of your great tips. Have a Great Day!!!

    • Lori

By providing that link you are the one “promoting” it. This site said nothing about a discount or how it get the free bag. Did you even read the post? I read it and just assumed i’d ask walgreens tomorrow. Sorry, but I just thought your post was very inappropriate. Especially, when you posted the link? Anyways, maybe it was just a mistake on your part.

Also, I am not sure what Walgreens policies on “Friends & Family” days are but I work with a company that deals with most the major retailers. Everyone of those companies (CVS, WalMart, Sears, Kmart, World Market, Dollar General, Macy’s etc etc) all frequently send out mass emails to people who work with not just for their companies for “Friends & Family” days. 9 times out of 10 the emails also say to pass it along! I don’t claim to know every companies policy of “friends and Family” pass, but I can say I get several a month from different retailers. While they are from friends most the time that person does not work there, they are just passing it along.

Ok, I just had to say that so if anyone gets a “Friends and Family” sent to them, they don’t feel bad about using it. That’s what they are for!

    • Julieann

Great news! There is a link now for customers on their site!! http://www.walgreens.com/dmi/onlineoffers/default.html?ec=hn1016rw_getcoupon

    • Julieann

I’m sorry you felt it was inappropriate, but it’s my feelings on the subject and I try very hard to make sure I am being ethical in my coupon use.

    • Dianne

I appreciate the way you feel. I was made to feel like a criminal at CVS today when I tried to use an Internet coupon that wouldn’t scan. I was told it was because it was photocopied, which of course it wasn’t. I told the cashier that I wouldn’t do that because that was unethical, but she obviously didn’t believe me or care. She said they had just had a meeting about coupons and her job could be at stake, which makes her attitude somewhat understandable, but it didn’t improve after the manager gave her the okay. Regarding the Walgreens free tote & discount, commonsensewithmoney.com has a link to another coupon and states that it is not related to the employee coupon.

    • Amy in LA

I just got the Walgreen’s coupon in my email, and it does say we can forward it to friends and family. I clicked on the forward button, and it provided 6 blanks for email addresses. So…..

    • I just got this coupon/offer from Walgreen’s in my inbox and I am not an employee. It is a customer family/friends offer.

Thanks Julie for your awesome website and finding these deals for us!

    • Shannon

I got the deal in my email too….no family or friends working for them…;)

    • Shannon

Here is the fine print on the email. It is intended for loyal customers, like us.

      Family and Friends*

      * Valid in Walgreens stores on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 only, during regular store hours. Coupon must be presented at photo or beauty counter prior to checkout to redeem offer(s). Discount does not apply toward dairy products, liquor, liquor department items, postage stamps, tobacco, prescriptions, prescription copays, Prescription Savings Club, gift cards, pre-paid cards, newspapers, magazines, transportation passes, charitable contributions and items prohibited by law. Limit one coupon per customer. Coupon must accompany purchase.

    • I just got an email from Walgreens with a link to a coupon for a free reusable bag with any purchase and 15% off any purchase and 20% off any Wags store brand products. Sounds like its legit for anyone to use.

    • Kristen

Hi there! This is not concerning the Earth Day But it could. I just sent a message to this company that I hear makes very yummy almond butter (made in an all almond factory-peanut free) found in SC at:

      The Fresh Market
      Hilton Head Island

and many other states. I requested coupons but instead she said now can go to the site and get a FREE sample at:

thanks for all your help! I love every bit of it!

    • kim

There is a $2 off $10 beauty or personal care purchase at CVS in the May issue of Fitness magazine. There is also number to text CVS, entering you to win a prize and CVS gift card.

    • kittychatalot

Yes- I did get up at 4:20 am to make sure and get the Reynold’s wrap rebate. Am I taking this too far, lol?

    • Julieann

Yeah!!!! I got my Reynolds rebate form too at 0730 EST (I wasn’t about to wake up at 0422!!)

    • Lori

The nail polish you must pay shipping and handling of $8.50

    • ShanR

I got my Reynolds rebate form at 10:05am!

    • Got the aveeno bag! but the nail polish site isnt working at all

    • Misty

I couldn’t even get the site to pull up for the nail polish. I guess they weren’t ready for the amount of hits they received at one time. Oh well.

    • Misty

      I haven’t tested this yet.

Take your own mug into Starbucks on 4/22 and receive a FREE cup of coffee. **Only stand alone Starbucks are participating – not the ones inside of Target Stores**

    • Alison V.

i fially got the nail polish site to pull up but nothing happened, so i assume they already gave out the 500 bottles. but i clicked on “shop” and it took me to a page saying i needed to upload something and contact my sql server! that site definitely wasn’t ready for this onslaught!

    • Misty

apparently neither is the gillette site. Their page has been loading for 5 minutes and counting.

    • Crystal

I got the walgreens coupon in my email, the aveeno website is not working (I have had several people tell me the same) and I had trouble with the nail polish as well. I did get the gillette razor the day before yesterday. You would think that companies would know that they need to be better prepared for people like us, LOL

    • Lauren

Regarding the Reynolds Wrap rebate, does anyone know if it would make sense for me to use a coupon to purchase it? In other words, will the rebate be for the original retail price (before coupon), or will it reimburse me for what I paid for it using a coupon?
