With Valentines Day quickly approaching many of us start to think about ways to show that we care.  However, the truth is we need to take special moments all year long to nurture strong relationships and families.  I know when times get tight that splurging for time away isn’t something you can consider so over the next few weeks we are going to have some fun chances to win time away or gifts.

For our first fun treat Emma’s Bay House is offering a FREE two night stay at their Bed & Breakfast on Mobile Bay.

The house overlooks the bay and sits directly beside the bayfront park. The bayfront park and pier are the centerpiece of picturesque Fairhope. Duck ponds, a picnic area, a beautiful water fountain, and an award winning rose garden are just a few of it’s many attractions.

Win It::

One Reader will win a 2 night stay with gourmet breakfast for the weekend of January 28-29th, 2011.

To Enter::

Take a look around their website and then enter the giveaway by telling me how long it has been since the last time you had a weekend away.

The winner will be picked Wednesday 1/19.

Note: This prize is only for the weekend specified at Emma’s Bay House in Fairhope Alabama.  Please only enter if you or someone you know would be able to use it.

It has been a year since my husband I had a weekend away. We tried for our anniversary in December, but it was just too busy a time of year to go anywhere. Thanks!

    • Clairebeautiful

We didn't even go on our honeymoon until our 5th anniversary! I can't even remember the last time we went on a date, let alone had a WEEKEND away!

    • Melissa

I Have Never had a weekend away with my Boyfriend and think this sounds great :-)

    • Heather G

we took a weekend trip over the new years but we took the dog with us haha!

    • Steph71102

    • Brandi

our last getaway was when our now 3 year old was 5 months old. too long!

    • Kmcspiritedangel

It is beautiful!!! The last time my husband and I had a getaway was back in Dec. of 2009! Although it will be hard to leave our 2 1/2 yr. old twins, it would be a much needed retreat for the two of us! Thank you!

    • Hmcooke1282

We haven't gone anywhere since the week our daughter was conceived in September 2008! Sad, I know.

    • Kristenlewis05

I haven't had a weekend away since my honeymoon in 2005. With two small kids and a busy schedule, this would be impossible on my own.

    • Susan

A trip alone together?! Too long! What a treat if we won this! :)

    • Darla

We have never done just a weekend away. We have one vacation a year and look forward to it so much so this would be a nice way to get a break in!

    • Kellys3angels

We went away last year for our 20th anniversary on Feb. 3rd, so this would be a perfect anniversary getaway for this year!!

    • Britras

I have twinfants….you can understand how long it's been. It was while pregnant that my husband I tried to cram a bunch of trips into a few months.

    • MegCran

Wow! The last time I had a “get away” if you call it that was on my honeymoon which was NOT EVEN an overnight “get away”..My husband and I have been married for almost NINE years..we got pregnant on our wedding night and had our firstborn child EXACTLY 9 months and 2 days after getting married. In the almost 9 years that we have been married we have not had the joy of having a “get away” as we have wanted to due to the fact that I have had 4 surgeries and we just could not and can not afford it!

    • Rebeccathur

Having children the biggest blessing in the world, but sometimes you just need to get away. :) We desperately wanted to get away for our 15th anniversary in December, but with Christmas the funds ran low. :( The website for Emma's Bay House looks awesome. I would love to surprise my hubby with this give away. :)

    • Carryssa

We haven't had a weekend getaway since our last anniversary-May of last year. This would be a nice getaway-Thanks!

    • Cady

WOW!!! It has been years since my husband I have had a weekend get away. Since he travels we focus so much on the kids and often forget about us. What a great place to get re-connected!

    • Julie

It has been since September 2009 that we had a weekend away…this would be wonderful…

    • Sarah B

The last time I had a weekend getaway was on my honeymoon, 10 years ago.

    • Kim Smith

Haven't had a weekend away in about 5 years and with 3 kids that is a long time. Currently husband and 2 kids are living in a different state because of jobs so a weekend together would be such a blessing!!

    • Tricia

Hmm…without kids? That would have been in 2008, when my husband had a conference in Georgia and my mom had a few days free. Since then, we did manage a whole night out for our 25th anniversary last month, but that started at 7pm and ended at noon the next day, so I'm not sure it counts!

    • Lindsay

I have been married 7 years in May and we have never been away with out our children in 5 of those years. We didn't take a honeymoon, because the Navy moved us when we just got married. Would love to win this. The last time we went away was in March of 2004 when we were looking for housing in Florida.

    • Sylvia

Our last vacation in December 2009 at Smoky Mountain. Wow.. cant believe it's been over a year……

    • Jenn M

we REALLY need a get away. We haven't had a getaway since our kids have been born, 5 years ago. I was actually looking online today to get away with my husband but we can't afford it right now.

    • Lei

It's been almost a year since we've been away. We had a little girl last year, moved, and changed careers so money has been tight and we haven't been able to get away. Sounds like fun!

    • Loperfamilycoupons

I haven't had a weekend getaway since my honeymoon in 2004! Children make that difficult, but I would love, love, love to getaway to this place in a couple of weeks.

    • Brooke249

This would be amazing! My husband and I have only been away together once, for our honeymoon! I would love to win this trip for the two of us. We live in Alabama, and my husband was actually born in Fairhope! :)

    • Sjroby

Wow! I would love a weekend away with my hubs! It has been a year since we have done something together without our little boy!

    • Mamac

Well it was this weekend! My husband surprised me for my birthday for a night in Charleston…no kids! First time away alone since before our 4 year old was born!

    • Erica

My husband and I have been married since May 2003. We have two wonderful children, but we have not taken a trip alone since our daughter was born in November 2004. We would love to have a weekend away!

    • Andersa Nair

It has been over 2 years since my husband and I have had a weekend away! I have worked shift work for the past 2 1/2 years and my husband works some weekend shifts too. We both have that weekend off and would LOVE a trip away!!!!! Emma's Bay House is beautiful!

    • Caitlin

It has been at least 5 years…..We have 2 little boys with the oldest being 4 1/2. I was on bed rest the 3 months of my pregnancy with him, so it has been way to long since we have been away together without them! It would be a wonderful gift for the two of us!

    • Mary S

We went on vacation for a few days in October for our anniversary when my husband had a week off…but this would be awesome because my husband is actually off work for that entire weekend. :)

    • Michelle

This place is beautiful! It has been over a year since my husband and I have had a weekend away- this would be a great gift!

    • Jennifer

Since my daughter was born 15 months ago, we've had one night away. This would be amazing!

    • Elizabeth

I've never had a weekend getaway. We've taken a week vacation, but never just gone away for the weekend. The last vacation we had was in April of 2010 to WDW. Not exactly relaxing, but it was fun!

    • Wendy

I would like to nominate my parents. They have been married 36 years and it has been a LONG time since they have been able to go away. They have taken on the role of parents to two small young children sue to slack parents who didn't feel the need to care for their own children. Anyway, they carry a lot of weight on their shoulders and at their age, 67 and 55….it is wearing on them fast! Like most of us finances are tight so to mention a get-away for just the two of them is unheard of!! Sorry for the sobb story but these two really deserve it!

    • Overby Theda

We had a half-weekend away in November for our 15th anniversary.. yep 1 whole night! I say we didn't quite get enough time to really celebrate!! Desperately want this!!

    • Heather

Looks like a beautiful place! I can't tell you the last time I had a weekend away…Maybe never? I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this! I just had a rough work week delivering mail in this snow & ice & would LOVE to relax at this place with an in-room massage! :-)

    • Jessicawingard

Our last weekend away was in June. But, that was the first in about 4 years. Would love another weekend away to refresh our marriage. :)
      Jessica Wingard

    • Nina Esmark

We have been married for 7 1/2 years and we have not been away by ourselves since our honeymoon in 2003. We have two sweet but full of energy boys, 4 1/2 and 23 months. I can only dream of getting away for an entire weekend with just me and the hubs. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the phenomenal give away.

    • Jai

My parents have not had a vacation together in over 5 years. They have been through a tremendously difficult time and have not been able to get away together. My father has had many health problems and the money is less than flowing richly due to the immense medical bills… So, it would be wonderful to be able to send them on a romantic vacation that they would otherwise be only able to dream about.

    • Caroline

The last time we got away just the two of us? We haven't since my son was born sixteen months ago. As a family it was August I think…

    • Shannon

My husband and myself have not had a get away of any sort in years. He works very hard so that I can be a stay at home mom, and I work very hard to make sure his day at the office runs a little more smoothly. We are a good team, but often miss the times where we can just have some time to ourselves and enjoy the quiet.

    • palmettomom

Last getaway without kids was our honeymoon and then I got food poisoning and ended up in the hospital. The kIds are now 7 and 5, I think its time for a second honeymoon.

    • Sarah Lin

last time i was in a wknd away was memorial wknd 2006, when pregnant with my first born. since then, God has blessed me with 3 beautiful daughters!

    • Hannah Sparks

Our anniversary about three years ago was the last time we went away together! It would be so great to win this getaway!!!

    • Olivia

My husband and I haven't had a weekend away since before the birth of our first child, so that would make it the fall of 2007!

    • Re6gina

I haven't had a getaway weekend since I graduated from high school in 1993. I got married that year and have since been taking care of my two children, went through a divorce, have been unemployed for almost two years and currently going to college full-time. A getaway weekend would be a vacation for me.

    • Isabela50

We haven't had a weekend get away as long as we have had kids. That's been 5 and a half years. Fairhope is beautiful and we would love to go back to visit. I just love the little shops but I've never been in them.

    • Leigh

Our last getaway was 8 years ago before our first child was born. Thanks for offering such great getaways… :)

    • Lynn

My husband and I always went away twice a year, then life got busy, so it went down to once a year….and now with the economy….we try to go on a lunch date once a week, so a weekend getaway would be a dream! Thanks!

    • wendyc33

what is a weekend getaway? We have never had one. lol. I dont remember when, so hope I win this for sure. it is a beautiful area, and we are close. thanks

    • Stacey Cook

My husband have not had a vacation or getaway in 5 years. It would be sooo wonderful to win this giveaway. My husband and my anniversary in January 29. 18 years!!!

    • Faith

I would love to win this fabulous getaway for myself and my husband! We have been married 11 years and have never had a honeymoon or vacation together! We have focused our time on careers, paying off debt, putting each other through school, and raising two fabulous kids, ages 9 and 5! My husband will graduate soon with his teaching degree, and I would love to repay him for all of the hours of hard labor he put in to get us to this point!

      • Faith

And we live in Alabama and I have never been to Mobile, so this would be a double treat!

    • Susieq_344

Me and my husband never had a honey moon cause we could not afford it, it was either buy a new house or a honey moon. We have been married for 9 years and in those 9 years we have NEVER gone away for a weekend to ourselves. Just haven't had the money to do so. Been raising our kids and one just started college. Ya know we have been saying for eyars we need to get away for a few days, but the funds never are available to do so. This would be a awesome gift to us both. If we win this would be such a blessing. I hope and pray we get it. Thank you Susie

    • I would love to win this for my Mom and Stepdad. Times are tight for them (as they are for us all) and they still continue to help me and my siblings through rough times. It has been a long time (I can't remember how long) since they went somewhere alone. My Mom spent part of her childhood in Mobile, AL and always talks about going back to visit family…this would be a great way for her to get back and visit and spend some quality time with her hubby:)

    • Anne McCould

We REALLY need this!!! We adopted three kids three years ago and haven't had a get away since. We got them with four hours notice. At that time they were 3, 10 months, and a newborn. Our son, our oldest, has emotional problems from his background. Our daughter, middle child, was diagnosed with leukemia in August, thankfully doing well. My husband is starting his own buisness so money has been tight. We could really use this.

    • Cynthia Sinclair

It has been a couple years since we had a get away together, we adopted a little 7 yr old in Oct who was severly abused in more ways then one So all of our attention threw the months have been on getting him and getting him theraphy, but now tht we finally have him, Id love a relaxing weekend away and this place looks awesome, very romantic. I think its a very nice prize for them to give away and for someone to win, Im crossing my fingers, Loved the website.

    • Laurie Millican

This place looks amazing! My awesome husband is in the ministry and we have two little boys, so our weeks and weekends are super busy. We would love a weekend away to re-connect with each other. It's so important to stay connected and stay marriage-centered, but it is hard to find the time and money. Last August my husband took me for an overnight for our anniversary and it was amazing! We've been talking about it ever since! We would love to get away just the two of us. Thank you for all you do!

    • Momcross3

I honestly can not remember the exact time…. I know it would have been before our children were born. Our oldest turned 10 in September. We have three children now, 10 years, 8 years and 6 years old. I currently homeschool all three and have been working evening shift 4 days a week. So it seems like I only see my husband as we pass each other.

    • Holly

My husband and I have never gone a trip by ourselves since having our children. My oldest is almost three. She's gone overnight a few times to the grandparents and that was difficult enough for us! :) I've never left my 8 month for more than 6 hours. Although the thought of going away for a few days without them seems sad and, quite honestly, impossible, I'm sure it would be a wonderful, rejuvenating experience for both of us!

    • Kimberly

We havent had a weekend away, just my husband and I since our honeymoon in 2008. We have since had a child which keeps us home even more now. I would LOVE a weekend away with him! Plus, one of the rooms is Kimberly Ann, which I think is neat because thats my name!

    • My husband & I have not had a getaway weekend together, just the 2 of us, since before our son was born in 2009.

    • DebraG

We haven't enjoyed a weekend away since our first anniversary. We're coming up on our 5th, so this would be a great treat!

    • Tlhsr05

Its been quite some time since my husband and I have been able to get away. For our 1 year anniversary we went to Washington DC, but that was the last trip we have really taken. We have a 17 month old son and we will be having twin girls in April. I would love to have a little baby moon prior to the girls arrival. I feel its important to spend time alone as a couple and so many parents fail to remember that. Lately we have just been incorporating a game night between the two of us with Scrabble, because majority of our savings are going towards preparing for our twins arrival. To get away prior to the twins arrival will be nice, because I'm sure it will be a long time before an opportunity can come up again and finding sitters for 3 children.

    • Skybluepink02

We have not had a night away from our two year old twins since they came home from the NICU. This would be great, because it is only a few hours away. We can get away without having to go too far!

    • Our last getaway was our honeymoon 2 years ago. I'm not a busy mom, but I am a hardworking teacher and wife. We are currently working on our Debt Snowball through Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover. Our budget is tight, and I would love to surprise my sweet boy with a weekend away!

    • Kim Nelson

My husband and I have been married for 26 years. I just told him this weekend we need to start “dating” again…this would be a perfect way to begin!!!

    • Tracy

I visited the website and it looks marvelous. We haven't ever been to Alabama. My husband and I don't often take time to “get away” for real since we have 8 children. We have gotten the ocassional overnight in recent years because our oldest is now 18. The last real getaway that we had was a couple nights cruise ( dh work) a few years back. We would drive to Mobile Bay from Missouri and enjoy the time together even the drive. We would probably leave mega early on Friday morning in order to enjoy the most time together at the B&B. We have had a very difficult year with job loss and losing our house. This would be a healing time for us. Good luck to everyone !!

    • Kelley D

It has been years since we have had a weekend away… I think almost 7 years when our youngest was about a year old and now he is 8. We had a week away on cruise then. But my birthday is next week so this would be a great Birthday gift!!!!!

    • Anita

It's almost been a year since our last get away. This would be great!

    • dionemichele

Beautiful place! Since we married in 2005, we have never taken a weekend trip away. In fact, my husband nor I have even been to Alabama. This would be great to get out of South Carolina.

    • Bethany

My husband and I had a weekend away last year while I was pregnant. We just had our 5th anniversary 1 month after her birth, but we have not celebrated yet. We have been a little preoccupied with the birth of our first baby. She is such a precious, sweet blessing from God!!!

    • Susan

This place looks so amazing…and not a bad drive from Georgia! My husband and I have never been on a trip alone since our daughters were born…it has been over 10 years. This would be PERFECT for us and much needed.

    • Hanna

I am in Tennessee and my soon-to-deploy soldier is stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. We did have 2 days to ourselves over the holidays, but as you can imagine, time together is precious, especially facing a year apart. We plan to meet somewhere halfway that weekend, and Mobile would be perfect! Thanks for offering such a fun opportunity!

    • JswearRN

It is beautiful! Such southern charm!! My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary June 2009 with the birth of our 3rd child! Our 3 kids keep us busy so we haven't been off since August 2008!!

    • Rhonda Daily

My husband has been working out of town for about a year and a half now. We do take time, but nothing like this. Our trips are always rushed and hurried. It would be nice to take a relaxing weekend with no agenda whatsoever!!

    • Jayna

Our anniversary is coming up and I can't think of when the last time was that we got away for a weekend. Oh yeah, it was 5 years ago. Eeek!

    • Janiesommers

I would love this! Our last getaway was our honeymoon in September 2008

    • Granny

This year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary. Never had just a weekend away. We've always taken vacations with family.

    • Wendy

I would love to go away for a weekend with my husband we have only been married 2 years but we have a 1 year old and it is hard to find time for each other!!

    • Jennifer

My husband and I have had one getaway since the birth of our twins in 2007, and that was for a wedding. And since I was newly pregnant at that point, let's just say I wasn't feeling my best. I would absolutely love to have the opportunity to reconnect with my husband on a little winter getaway!

    • larry j.

It has been about five or more years, from our last real time away. Money & my heath has kept us from getting away, Now that I have lost over 100 lbs. I can walk and get around. It I would love to take my wife someplace nice like this. She has been through a lot with every thing we have had hit us last few year. And I would love nothing more then to give her this treat.

    • Kelly M

Wow! I am so sad reading may of the comments posted here! I have an amazing husband. No matter what our financial situation or time schedules are he has always found time for me :) He takes me out every Thursday night (finds the sitter himself!)no matter what. We find creative ways to make sure that our focus stays on each other even when funds are low. We even sometimes only go to lowes and walk around holding hands or go to Starbucks and chat and share a drink. It all counts. We think it is the most important thing to keep our marriage strong… and the best way to love our daughter. With me being a stay at home mom I have never been able to give him a special surprise the way he has done for me. It would be great to win this for him! The last time we had a weekend away was on our anniversary at the beginning of September. I am so blessed! I love making memories with my husband!

    • Christy

The last time we had a weekend away without children was Oct. 2009. The only trips we have taken in the last 5 years have been to visit family, other than that one weekend.

    • Hmdandthc123

My husband and I just got married, so we just had a getaway on our honeymoon – but my parents 30th wedding anniversary is Jan 31st – this would be an awesome gift for them! :)

    • Ddorrough

I was going to enter with the fact that my daughter and granddaughter live with us and we haven't had anytime alone since Emma was born (3 and a half years ago)… but let me just tell you – Anne McCould's story has me and probably most of us beat!

    • Sdg032708

A weekend away? 7 years or so.. That is my anniversary weekend too.

    • Bholmes75

My husband and I haven't not taken a getaway since our honeymoon in 2001.

    • Dsaundra77

I have been married to my wonderful husband for, it will be 29 years on February 20th. We have never had a weekend away together. When we were married I immediately became a mother of his 5 year old and began our family. We have 6 children, the youngest is now 12. Our anniversary is February 20th and this trip would be the most wonderful way to spend our anniversary.

    • Summer

We have a 2 year old so we don't get away alone very often. Not to mention money is tight as I am a stay at home mom! The last time we did was on our 5th wedding anniversay over 1 year ago. We stayed at Abingdon Manor a wonderful bed and breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Would love to do it again!

    • Luv It

I have been married going on 22 years now and have three children. I work at a year round preschool and my husband, a part time policeman and full time crime prevention officer, we use all of our time off to be with family and our vacation time to go up North to be with relatives. It has been too long and the strain on our marriage is getting more and more evident.

    • NewYearNewMe2011

Looks like a very peaceful and romantic place for two to get away, too. I have actually been with my boyfriend for 3 years, and we have never been on a vaction just the two of us. We have 2 children, ages 4 and 1 both boys, so life gets pretty hectic, and we both work full time jobs, but one down fall is, I work days and he works nights. So we barely get any alone time together, this would be a perfect get away for us!

    • Amy

It has been several years since my husband and I have been somewhere without kids. I would say 2-3 years. We NEED it, and this would be wonderful. We live in North AL, so this would be a great getaway. Fingers crossed!!!

    • Wdstockguy

Beautiful B&B….looks fantastic! It's been about 3 years since my last weekend getaway. I've been doing alot of day dreaming this last week of getting away….here in Atlanta we've had snow on the ground for 8 days now! yuk

    • My husband works in New Orleans, and I live in Pensacola, so this would be perfect for us to meet up for a romantic weekend! It's right in between!

    • SCPrincessRN

Our last get away was our 2nd Anniversary to Key West. This would be a wonderful trip for his birthday (Valentines Day!).

    • Hoyersforlife

The last time I had a weekend away was 3 yrs ago for my anniversary.. My 10th anniversary is coming up and Emma;s Bay House looks like the perfect place to go for it

    • KC&A

Wow! What a great getaway. My husband and I have never been able to afford a getaway and haven't had time alone away since our honeymoon. We were poor college students. Now we have grown and have a beautiful baby girl. We still can't afford a getaway due to being laid off so It would be so wonderful to spend time with my husband and celebrate our love for each other. Please consider us! This would be a dream come true!!!

    • Stephanie

My husband and I have been trying hard to pay off our debt the last couple of years…but that means NO vacations! Winning this weekend trip would be such a blessing to us! Thank you for offering this to your readers!

    • Shellie Baum

My husband and I haven't had a weekend for ourselves in 5 1/2 years (and that was only one night!) I'm a homeschooling mom of three boys ages 6, 3, 1. While we love love love our little blessing from the Lord, we rarely have a moment without them! We're heading for a move to seminary and I know we won't have extra money to be alone for the next 3 years. A weekend at Emma's Bay House would be an awesome time to reconnect with my precious husband! Thanks for all you do Jenny!

    • Melissa

My husband and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary today! Our last weekend away was almost 2 years ago to Savannah which we loved…but life seems to get in the way of taking time out for the two of us!

    • Tamara Rossi

This contest could not come at a better time. We haven't been away from our chaotic lives in what seems like forever! My father-in-law has been in a nursing home in NY for 5 years because of a stroke. That's the only place we went when we had time off. He just passed away last Monday and with our anniversary being the 28th, I can't even express how much this would be appreciated. Tamara Rossi

My wife and I adopted a little 1 year old boy about a year ago . We also have a 14 year old daughter but we have not felt comfortable leaving them alone overnight. The last time we were able to get away would have been for our Anniversary Oct. 2008. The weekend however was cut short as we got word that me teenage daughter had broken her arm. We are about 2 1/2 hours from Mobile and would definitely welcome the opportunity to get away.

    • TOO LONG..maybe 2 years ago. Have been fulltime caregiver for my Mother-In-Law and we get virtually no time off. Would really be great.

    • ReeLeigh

I have to say its been YEARS since we went away just the two of us… this place is beautiful.

    • michellle

it looks beautiful. my husband and I were able to get away after Christmas for our anniversary.

    • Jamieandkatie

We haven't gone away just the two of us since my 30th birthday. I will be 32 in May! I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win!

    • sherring

My husband and I have been married for 10 wonderful years. We have 2 children that are amazing. I work fulltime and never let my kids spend the night away because I don't want to miss any time with them. Our son's birthday is on our anniversary and our daughter's is 2 days later. So needless to say, we are in birthday mode every year when our anniversary comes around and we never give it a second thought. We haven't been away without the kids in many many years.

    • Junkforjenn

My husband and I take regular weekends away. We believe it is important for our life and marriage to take regular sabbaticals from our regular responsibilities. We would love to spend out next getaway at Emma's Bay House.

    • Valeriejernigan

My husband and I got married in 2002 and we were not able to have a Honeymoon because he was still in Trade School. Since 2002 we have had 4 children and the last time we had a weekend away was before we got married :(

    • Baylorashley2

It's been a year and a half. It would be for my in-laws who have been renovating their home since September and living in a garage apartment.

    • Lilnascar97

My BF went away in October. But since we went away my BF has been caring for his ill mother which has limited our time together. This would just a great to just relax and be away from the daily grind.

    • Shelly

Thank you so much for offering such a wonderful gift to one lucky couple..My husband and I have been married 20yrs, we always loved to get away and really enjoy our time together. 4yrs ago our beautiful 17 yr old daughter died as the result of a car accident and it is as if life stopped. So many things get in the way now. I went fom being an outgoing, fun loving, people person to a stay at home by myself, lay on the couch, leave me alone kind of person. I would love time away to be able to reconnect with my husband.I just feel like I never have the enrgy or drive to plan something. This would be an awesome way for us to just spend some quality time together. Thank you again.

    • Melinda

WOW, it looks so beautiful!!!! My husband and I haven't been away for the weekend since our honeymoon 3 years ago!

    • Michelle

My husband and I havent been away by ourselves in about 4 and a half years, we are long overdue!

    • SouthernMomma

We would love this!! It has been 2 years since my hubby and I have had an away trip! We have four little ones, so this would be quite welcome!!!

    • Leslie

Hey, Jennie..I'd like to register to win this. My husband and I have never had a weekend away, and we've been married almost 17 yrs. We have two children, and one of them has had 90 something surgeries. So, it's been very hard for me to even think of me leaving her. I know this is something that would be good for us. So, I'm going to at least try to win this. Thanks so much!!

    • KellyGlenn

Nice website with the photos of each room. My husband and I got away by ourselves in summer of 2009.

    • sstrozier

How to begin … Three boys, a very busy schedule, teaching high school, hard working husband, homework, laundry, cooking … I could go on forever. We are not able to do any lengthy vacations, but thanks to you and your saving tips, we have been able to squeeze in a couple close by had weekend trips. Did I mention these were family vacations with my sweet hubby of 20 years and my three adorable boys? Usually Dad has a little one in a bed and I have another little one in mine. The oldest, you guessed it, on a sleeping bag. I would love to get away just the two of us. Looked over their site and it sounds fantastic. Never been down that way, it looks beautiful.

    • Stephanie

It has been over a year and a new baby since my husband and I have gotten away! We have never stayed at a B&B but would love to!

    • Branyandtravis

we are a blended family and my husband and I havent had a getaway since we have been together, with our 9 and 13 year old its kind of hard. Would love a weekend away without the kids for our 1st anniversery that weekend!!!

    • Cwishum

We have had to cancel our last 2 weekend getaways because our 2 year old son has been so sick this last year. The last time we were able to get away was 3 1/2 years ago when I was 3 months pregnant. My birthday and Valentines day is next month and we would love to take this opportunity to celebrate a little early.

    • Ashley I.

It has been 6 years since my husband and I got away just the 2 of us and I was pregnant with our oldest son at the time. We have 2 wonderful boys our oldest will be 6 in Feb and the youngest will be 2 in April. Our life has been a whirlwind since we found out this past August that our oldest is Autistic. We really haven't made time for ourselves and this would be a wonderful treat for us.

    • Robyn

It has been almost 2 years, before my twins were born. With 4 childrend 4 and under and being a full time stay at home mom I never get time alone.

    • Hilliardmommy

My second son was born in April of 2009 and me and my hubby have not had much alone time since then. I quit my job to stay home with the baby so we really have not had the money to get away. This would be great.

    • Leighann Howell

I have never had a weekend away with my husband (or by myself, for that matter). Fairhope is just about an hour from us, this would be so nice. We didn't even get a honeymoon, and that was over 8 years ago now. Keeping fingers crossed that I win this.

    • Leigh-Ann G.

Having always practiced the power of positivity and wanting something like this.. its been like 15 yrs since my husband and I went away for a weekend…3 kids later./fostering animals and btwn his job and my licensed home daycare its just not happened as we approach our 20yr anniversary this would be an amazing thing for the two of us.

    • Genia

You won't believe this but …….my daughter is 26 and the last time we had a weekend away – she was 8 years old! So this would be awesome

    • Notlwonks

With three children 3 and under, its been at least that long (3 years). I may be remembering wrong, but I think it was when I was pregnant with the first, so maybe four years? We've had time alone, but not a weekend away! This looks awesome!

    • Clara

The last time that my husband and I took a trip alone together was may 8-9 on our anniversary. Alabama is beautiful and we would really enjoy the trip!!!

    • Danielle

We haven't had a weekend away since 2005. Having kids and running my own business, has made it much harder to carve out intentional time with my spouse, plus there's always the issue of money. Gah. This would be a really wonderful treat, and my husband's birthday is on the 28th of this month, and this year we will celebrate our 10 year anniversary. How cool would that be?! He would be so surprised! :)

    • Candice

We never had a homeymoon much less a weekend getaway. We have been married for almost 8 years and have two children. I work at a daycare with 11 kids in my class so it would be a blessing to getaway and enjoy one of God's great creation, that being Mobile Bay!

    • Ceschliman

November 2006! 3 months after my daughter was born! Been a long time:)

    • Christy H.

We actually did get away on our anniversary in November, but we've never stayed in a bed and breakfast and would love to!

    • PamP

My goodness, just looking at the website is rejuvenating!

Our last weekend getaway as a couple was at least 12 years ago. That's when we realized our special needs son couldn't be properly care for by family members. Even our recent 30th anniversary trip included him. He's such a blessing to us both, but a weekend alone with my precious sweetheart on the Bay would be so restorative.

    • Deb880

It has been almost 4 years since my husband and I have been on a getaway trip! I've had two babies in that time period, so life has been a bit busy…would love to win this trip! Thank you for the opportunity!

    • sc couponer

Wow! This would be so amazing. My husband and I have been busy raising kids for 20 years, with few chances to get away. I cannot even remember the last time. PLUS, my mother is from Mobile and we have family there that we could visit while there:) AND, we know the way, since we have visited them in the past. A weekend would be so wonderful!

    • Lolly

Married for 25 years, 3 beautiful daughters and living on blessings and love. It has been over 10 years since me and my wonderful husband have been on a getaway. My husband is self employed and with 3 sets of college bills from our daughters and the state of the economy we have not been able to go anywhere. This would be a answer to prayers if we got to go to the Emmas Bay House!

    • Wareagletiger92

The last weekend getaway that my wife and I had was 3 years ago when we stayed at a B&B near Mystic, CT.

    • Samsmomkim

The last time my Husband and I went on a long weekender was 3 years ago. We took our boat that recently sold down the Tennessee to Chattanooga. The economy sunk and so did our business. No vacations for us.:(

    • emerson

The last time me and my husband had a weekend away was june 6th of last year. I would love to get a few nights away just south of moundville, al to enjoy some alone time since we just had our second child in october.

    • Clmccaslin

It has been so long that I can't remember the last time! LOL It was at least 12 years ago because it was before my daughter was born. There are a lot of moving comments from many deserving people. I know I would have a hard time choosing! But my story is simple and common. My husband works 50+ hours a week so that I can stay home with the kids and go to school during the day. Our lives are just consumed with sports, activities, theatre practice, piano lessons…the list goes on and on. My love language is travelling. Unfortunately, we just don't have the money for getaways, and definitely not with just me and hubby! We are trying to save for a trip when I graduate college in 2014, but something always comes up that we don't get to deposit much into that acct. Their website looks like a beautiful getaway, and close enough that we could drive to it easily from SC.

    • Stefanyg

Our last weekend getaway was when I was pregnant with our first child in July of 2008. That trip was spent in the hotel room, eyes closed and Sprite nearby, as the nausea hit me on the way to the hotel! :( Our daughter was born in Feb. 2009, and our second child was born in March, 2010. We've been very busy with both babies, as my husband has worked the night shift for the past year. We certainly could use some time away to reconnect (and actually sleep in the same bed)!

    • Mary – mom of 3 + 2 bonus

My husband & I have not had a weekend away together since we started our family in 1999. None of our family lives close by and Jan 28th is my birthday.

I would love to stay in The Betty Annette Room because of it's Queen size bed and Bay View. If I won; we'd go for my birthday & I'd ask my best friend to watch our kids over the weekend.

    • E Ringwald

Well, since we've gone anywhere? Last Feb we went to Florida to visit my parents. Last time my husband and I went anywhere without the kids? SC in 2006 to find a place to live and job hunt (not so much a weekend away). Last time we went somewhere for fun and relaxation? Our honeymoon – 09/2005!!! It's time!!!!

    • Cyndi P.

My husband and I would love this getaway. We are the very busy parents of three girls ages 7, 3, and 1 1/2, and have not slept a night away from them ever except for 2 years ago when my husband had a stroke and was hospitalized. (By the grace of God, he is in good health now). After 7 years with our wonderful daughters, a weekend away would be a real treat for us.

    • lhfann

Gosh….it has been way too long! Our last getaway as a couple was on our honeymoon 4 years ago. Since that time my husband and I have been busy raising our 4 beautiful kids. My 9 year old son has autism, him along with my 15 year old son, his 9 year old daughter and our 2 year old son, there is never a dull or free moment. I work full time as a kindergarten teacher and my husband is a police officer. Our incomes combined is barely enough to make ends meet in today's economy. A free weekend getaway would truly be a dream come true for us! We live in north Alabama but have never visited Fairhope. I hear it's a beautiful place and we would love the opportunity to visit.

    • Slswilliams

What a great giveaway!! My husband and I haven't had a weekend away, just the two of us, in three years. What a blessing this would be to any couple who just need a little time together and a reason to do it!

    • Kim

Our last getaway was almost 3 years ago for our 10th anniversary. My husband has been out of work for 8 months, so we haven't been able to have any getaway time since then. What a blessing some time away like this would be!

    • It's been over 6 years since we've had a weekend away. The little ones have kept us busy!

    • Soccerpuppet

Married for 22 years, we have had one big family vacation and one get away vacation.
It would be nice to get away and rekindle some old feelings as we had when we were younger. Emma's house bed and breakfast looks so stress free and could be the perfect place to reconnect with eachother.

    • RobinLee

In March my hubby and I well be married for 26 years. In those years we have only had a few weekends to ourselves. We have 3 boys ages 24 to 9 and they keep us very busy.

    • K58pow

It has been 4 years since we had a trip just the two of us. We cancelled a trip we had to Alabama earlier this year because we couldn't justify spending the money since I had recently quit my job.

    • becca

Wow! What a beautiful place to visit. I haven't been anywhere with my husband in over 3 years! We moved across the country from all our family (and babysitters) 3 yrs ago & it's been that long since we've had any alone time longer than a date! I'd love to have some time away with my husband! Thanks:-)

    • Liz

Money has been tight for us (even with the extreme help of couponing), and my husband and I have been trying to save for a trip; however, we just can't seem to get ahead. (I feel like we live the beginning clip of the movie “UP” when they have to keep smashing their Paradise Falls change jar to pay for day to day things.) This place is about 4 hours from our home, and it would be a very appreciated and welcome getaway from this thing called life :)

    • Jessicagriffin1

WELL THE LAST TIME I HAD A WEEKEND AWAY WAS THE WEEKEND I GOT MARRIED. AND THAT HAS BEEN 6 YEARSNOW.

    • AllRusty

How exciting! I only live 40 minutes form here! And let's see, our oldest is turning three, so it's been at least 3 years since we've had a weekend away. :)

    • Erin Clary

We are lucky to have in-town grandparents that help with keeping our son, so our last weekend away was in November 2010…but we would love to check out Mobile, as we've never been there before!

    • Reiber3

My husband and I would love this getaway! We have a 2 year old little girl and I am pregnant with #2 due Feb 14! So the timing of the trip would be perfect for us to get a little us time before our little man is born. We have never been away together since having our little girl.

    • Dawn

My husband and I have not had a weekend away just the two of us since having our first son 9 years ago. We both work 40+ hours and have two sons…..makes it hard for just the two of us to get away…..A weekend away would be GREAT :)

    • Ktandbmoore

My husband and I have been married for almost 7 years. We have twins that are turning 2 this March. He is in the Air Force, and I am a stay at home mom, so money is tight around our house, but our family is rich in love! We are very blessed and thank God everyday for our happy, healthy family. Learning to be frugal, and using coupons has become our new way of life, and I love that we are teaching our children that you don't need a lot of money to lead a fulfilling life. I would mostly like to win this vacation for my husband. He works very hard for our country, and our family, and he deserves this more than anyone I can think of. He's also working towards his second degree online, so going back to school has put a lot of extra stress on him, and a weekend away would restore his energy. We last had a vacation at the beautiful Red Horse Inn in Landrum, SC, in June of 2008.
Thank you so much for considering us for this giveaway Jenny! Mostly, thank you for helping us become a frugal, coupon-loving family! God bless you and your family!

    • Patricia-morris

My parents need this! They've been married for 41 years. My dad already had a 2 year old son (whose mom passed away) when they married. They've been through so much in 41 years. My brother had a heart transplant in 1982 which led them to bankruptcy (TOTALLY worth it). Circumstances have left them raising various grandchildren over the years so that they have NEVER lived alone. My sister & 4 kids currently live with my parents in their modest 2 bedroom house. They need and truly deserve a break. I honestly can't remember them ever having a weekend away. While I would LOVE to win for myself, I would much rather give my amazing parents a well deserved and much needed break.

    • Bekboland4

we went away when our two oldest were 2 yrs and 7 months… now our 4 are 11,9,8,6!! we have date nights but have not had a weekend away since Valentine 2002!! Would LOVE to go to this bed and breakfast!

    • tinkeremmi

We haven't had a weekend away since we were married on April 2, 2005. We now have a baby and a toddler… a weekend away would be heaven!

    • Perfumerep

My husband has been laid off for over two years, so may is very tight. We need a weekend away to regain our sanity it has been forever since we went anywhere.

    • Jessica Ingram

We were four months pregnant when we married, we knew we were buying a house so we saved our vacation to move instead of taking a honeymoon. It's now been three years and we still haven't gotten away with one another. This would be so wonderful for us to reconnect! It looks peaceful and quiet!!

    • Emily

The last time I've had a weekend away was for my anniversary last year in May! School and work has kept us busy since then, a weekend away would be amazing!

    • Quantum_gal

We went away in October, but we try to make a point to get away 2-3 times a year together, alone. Going into our 3rd year together, we've realized when you blend families, (and we are the proverbial Brady Bunch), we need time to nuture our relationship or our marriage will end in divorce, just like our prior marriages did.

    • Natbham

Wow- those porches are amazing and Fairhope is one of our favorite places! It has been years since my husband and I have been able to get away. With no family in town, it's very difficult for us to even go out on a date! However, if we win this fabulous getaway, my best friend has agreed to take care of our child for that weekend:) Thank you, Jenny, and Emma's for this incredible package!

    • Jolee

Oh..my!!! The last time we went away for a trip was before our two daughters were born.My oldest is now 14!!! We always take family vacations. I would love to win this getaway for us. :)

    • Dailey65

That place looks amazing. Over the past three years my husband and I have dealt with the downsizing of our business, the tragic loss of my father-in-law in a car wreck, and almost having our home foreclosed on. Needless to say we have not had a weekend away from our kids together in four years. This would be a perfect pick “us” up from the everyday hustle and bustle.

    • bek

I would actually LOVE to be able to give this to my sister and brother in law. She is my best friend and is a great mom to 3 kids 4 and under and has her 4th on the way! Would LOVE to be able to give them some r & r.

    • yellownikki

My husband and I managed to get away last Valentine's Day. It would be wonderful to have another night away!

    • Monica452

What a beautiful place! We have always wanted to get back to Alabama since my husband was a big football star in Tuscaloosa!! Because he is now a coach we got married the last weekend available before his season started and were never able to go on a honeymoon. We have a two year old son now and are living in a town with no family which makes going away almost impossible unless family flew in from out of town. We would LOVE this get away to reconnect!!

      Monica J.

    • shannanwade

What a gorgeous place! I would love to surprise my husband and take him there since it has been a few years since the two of us have been away together. :)

      Good Luck to everyone!

    • Stodd35

We would love a weekend away, we always have kids activities every weekend so if we have an open weekend we feel to tired to go anywhere. We would love to get away! No kids no pets no housework would be unbelievable! We would just love to win it!!

    • Elizabeth

This sounds so nice! I can't even remember the last time my husband and I had a weekend away!

    • KMN

Wow it looks beautiful there! I love the beach. The last time we had a getaway was before our daughter was born 3 years ago! We have another little girl on the way in the spring. This would be the perfect time to get away just me and my husband!

    • Jaimie

We haven't had a weekend getaway since 1999!!! This would be perfect…my parents live in Mobile so they could watch our kiddos!!

    • Kristen O

With a 2-1/2 year old & 7 month old, our house is very busy! Bayhouse looks like the perfect waterside, relaxing getaway my husband and I need & haven't had in over 2 years!

    • Trish

We would love getting away to a Bed & Breakfast….just the two of us! The last time we tried this, our childcare fell through and we ended up spending a “romantic” weekend with our two little girls! LOL It was fun, but not what we had planned! :~) It has been a few years since we have gotten away just the two of us that didn't involved medical trips.

    • Binghams5

It has been a long time since we have had a getaway. The last year we have hardly had a date night. My husband lost his job in Jan and was out of work for several months before securing 2 part time jobs (14+ hrs. a day) In Feb. we found out he also had prostate cancer and had been in treatment for that. Between drastic drop in income and doctor bills there just hasn't been any extra. February will be our 31st anniversary and this would be a great time away for some much needed “us” time!! Thanks for all your weekly help!!

    • Wiseadrian

Wow! This place looks awesome! My husband and I are from a small town in South Carolina. We got married 10 years ago, and have never left the state of SC except to drive up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. We have have two kids that are 8 and 7. Both of our dad died, and our moms live hours away. We are with them 24/7. We virtually live everyday for our kids. I stay at home with them, and volunteer all week at their school. We sacrifice for them and that is what makes us happy. We took a day trip down to Charleston to teach them about the history of our state and it was amazing!! Thats why I think this place would be wonderful! The history and the scenery! Incrediable!! Thanks to the chance to win this beautiful get away!

    • Lakotaloki

We have never been away together for the weekend. In fact, the only time we've ever stayed in a hotel was our honeymoon. We've never been to a bed and breakfast. My birthday is January 30th, and this would be an amazing birthday present, especially since this year we are taking a pass on giving birthday presents. Last year was my 30th and we didn't celebrate it at all (other than a special home cooked meal) so it would be really neat to mark this year's birthday with something extra special. I would love to have this special trip with my husband. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, and my husband has been the best in helping me make our house gluten free, helping me find special foods I can eat, and helping me with my new hobby- couponing. He's an amazing man and I'd love to spend time with him outside of our home, on a special trip with just us :) Thank you for considering us!

    • Tiffany

The place looks beautiful and just the place for a romantic get away. My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years and have not gotten away alone since our honeymoon. This just made me realize that and just how sad that is.

    • Becky B

Looks like a very relaxing place! I would like to give this to my parents…they always do a lot for myself and my husband and my brother and his wife, but they deserve to get away! THANKS!

    • Armypilotswife

Wow that place is beautiful! I have not had a weekend away since 2006, before my husband's first deployment to Iraq. Wow. 5 years is a long time!

    • Tracey

The last time we had a weekend getaway was when I tagged along on a business trip with my husband about three years ago! This would be great!

    • Liz Jutton

My husband and I have not had a weekend getaway since I was pregnant with our first daughter (June 2005). We never even had a honeymoon. We have gone through some rough times in the past few years and nearly divorced last summer. We have clawed our way back together and it would be great to be able to have a weekend to really reconnect as a couple!

    • My in laws live near here, it would be so nice to give them this for their anniversary!!!

    • Drp917

My husband and I would love to win! We haven't been away in two years. We are so busy with a part time job for me a full time job for him and a ministry job that we both share and our first baby. It would be soo nice to get away!

    • Smileamys

My husband and I have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast so we would love the escape. We also have never been away overnight from our two small children. It would be a nice little getaway.

    • Kristie

The last trip my husband and I took was in 2009 when we celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We have 4 children so it is hard to get away. This getaway would be amazing!

    • Shell2212

I would love a weekend, this place is beautiful! I hope they have tubs for a soak! Honestly the last time we got away was Sept, but only 15 min from the house! hehe, I work in a flower shop and never have gotten to have a nice Valentines day in 27 years. This would be a wonderful weekend away for a special early Valentines.

    • P_k_boatwright

My husband and I were married in May of 2003. We did not take a honeymoon because I had three children from a previous marriage and did not trust anyone to watch them. (I know over protective mom) We took a weekend for ourselves in November of 2003 and have not managed another one since. Between the twins heading off to college, my son entering the army and the addition of our three year old daughter we never seem to have any funds for ourselves. A weekend away would be wonderful for both of us.

    • Slowe205

Jenny, my husband has been out of work for close to three years now. We are blessed in the fact that my job has kept going so far. We live about 4 hrs from Mobile Bay and it would really be a treat to get away. Since his employment situation changed so has our entire household finances as he was the bread winner in the family. We also have gained custody unexpectedly of a 17 year old with no income coming in for him. We really could use a weekend get away to recharge the batteries. We have not been out of the area for anything since 2007.

    • Bjessa

It's been before we had a child! We need to get away so we can work on another one!

    • Sophielove04

This place looks amazing and very romantic. My husband and I have 2 daughters, one is special needs and requires nursing care, therapists and teacher that takes place at home. There is always someone in our home which leads to no private time for US. We have not been able to get away or go on vacation in over 4 years and would love to have a chance at winning a wonderful getaway.

    • Kb

It looks soooo great! we currently live in lower AL so we could definetly go! We haven't had a weekend away in a LONG time, especially since we postponed out anniversary trip due to the kids being sick.

    • Susan H.

It's been a month. :) Last month went to the Biltmore Estate. Would love to win this giveaway though. I have relatives in the area I would love to vist. Thanks for awesome giveaway.

    • Kamoulder

What a romantic place this is, and there is even a room with my name, Kimberly Ann! My husband and I leave our three little ones with parents twice a month to keep our sparks going, and the last time we had a special weekend away was last Valentine's Day. We stayed in a neat hotel and had a fabulous dinner in Atlanta.

    • Mandy

OMGOSH—I so hope I win this! We are celebrating our annivesary (9 years) that weekend and have my parents keeping the kids but because money is super tight, we aren't able to go anywhere so we are having to celebrate at home. It would be so awesome if we were chosen!! We went for a mini getaway in June but haven't been anywhere since then. servingwhilesaving at gmail dot com

    • grace

If you are talking about just the two of us, not since we had our child in 2005. I would love to win the getaway for my hubby and I/ Thanks Jenny

    • Carrie

I would love to win a getaway for my husband and me, but I would rather win one for my parents. My dad will be turning 60 in March, and they never go away just the two of them because they are so devoted to taking care of four grandboys! They are at all sport games, PRACTICES, etc. They have kept all four of the boys when they were young, keeping them out of daycare until they were at least 2 years old. They even put up a baseball backstop in their front yard for their grandkids. I would love to give them this gift in appreciation for all they do for me and for my children. What a great birthday gift for my dad!

    • Deb

My husband and I of six years are going through some rough times at the moment. We are going to have a trial separation to see what the future holds for us. A weekend trip away would do us a lot of good and be really appreciated!!!

    • snk

This bed and breakfast looks amazing! My husband and I have been married for almost 13 years and only been away just the two of us, once! We would love to get away for the weekend! We have taken several vacations as a family with our boys but it would be nice to get away just as a couple for some much needed R&R!

    • dana

What a beautiful place! Not sure that my hubby and I have had a weekend alone in about 15 years.. We really do not leave our kids with anyone and my hubby works some unreal hours with his job.. It would be so much fun to be able to go somewhere like that just him and I…

    • Lmarthur124

My husband and I last got away to Helen, GA in April, 2009 when I was six months pregnant with my son. We need a getaway again soon!!!! The bed and breakfast looks gorgeous and we could easily get there from Atlanta.

    • Shylah

It has been since before my oldest son was born in 2006 since we have had a weekend away…We would both be exctatic to get a weekend alone without our children. ;)

    • Rachael

We've only had 2 nights away in the last 2.5 years. We have a son, and don't have family nearby, so it's a challenge to get away. In addition my husband is back in school, so $$ are tight. We would love a little getaway, and it would be the weekend before my birthday – perfect!

    • ZJ

Looks like a very calm and peaceful place! My last weekend away was last May. Not sure when the next one will be, since my hubby and I are aggressively trying to get out of debt!

    • Dcallea

Wow!! This place is amazing. My husband and I have not had a weekend away wthout our children in at least 5 years. My birthday is in February and a weekend away would be a great way to celebrate.

    • alysias

Wow, absolutely beautiful… Well lets see,,, it has definately been way too long for my husband and I. This April will make our 5th year of marriage and we've only been away from the kids twice, that is once on our honeymoon and the second shortly after. Every year we plan to get away but then finances and kids activities etc get priority so we push it back. hard to believe we're approaching 5 yrs. Would be nice to get away again…

    • Lisa Hudson

My husband and I have never been to the Mobile area together. I have visited the area when I was a child with my parents. This would be a wonderful trip for my husband and I. We have been married for 27 years and have three teenagers at home. We are a very active family and always take trips as a family but my husband and I have not taken a trip together alone since 1993. In July 2009, our world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had surgery, chemo and now I am cancer free and pray every day to stay that way for the rest of my life. This trip would be a wonderful way to start a new year with no cancer, no sickness from chemo.

    • Pecanny99

Wow..what a beautiful place. I would love to suprise my husband of 15 years! I can't remember the last time we got away by ourselves. He came into my life when my daughter was five. We have one son together…Our children are now 20 and 13. They surprised me last Christmas with an adult adoption and he was able to finally adopt her. This past July/August my father-in-law was shot (in our home town, at his business..attempted robbery and passed away 30 days later of complications of the gun shot). It would mean a great deal to just get away. Four our of six of the men/woman that committed this crime are in jail at the current time. The trials will be starting in the next few months (Feb/March) and would mean a GREAT deal to be able to suprise my husband to get away.Thank you so much for offering to this to one special and fortunate couple….Good luck everyone!

    • amym

Looks awesome. My husband and I haven't had a weekend without our children in 7 years, since before my youngest child was born.

    • Donna

It has been 3 years since we had a getaway without grandkids or family. The main reason for that is I'm unemployeed and my health has deteriorated to the point that my husband has been doing everything around the house and working. I really would love to win this for my husband to give him a special “thank you for all you do” and let him enjoy someone else waiting on him. He is my love of my life and I feel bad that I can't do more to help him out around the house. Thank you for an opportuntiy to share this special place.

    • robinwiser

It has been since our honeymoon in May 2006 that we have been away without kids. And since Sept 2009 since our last family vacation. It would be wonderful to get away for a weekend.

    • Susan

We haven't had a weekend away from the kids since before my husband deployed to Iraq. It would be great!

    • Abi

My husband and I haven't been away since our honeymoon over 2 years ago! We were able to get away right before he deployed to Afghanistan and when he came home we had a newborn so we would love to get away! What a wonderful giveaway, thank you!

    • shannon

my husband and i have never had a weekend away since having kids (over 10 years ago)! we are ready to give it a try!!

    • Kristy

It's been almost 2 years since my husband and I had a weekend away. My hubby's bday is the 25th so this would be a great gift!

    • Tiffany

The last time my husband and I went off alone together was almost 4 years ago. Between kids, busy schedules and tight finances, sadly time away together hasn't reached the top of the list. This place looks absolutely lovely – my husband and I would love to win!

    • SC Mel

The last time my husband and I had a “weekend to remember” was a marriage conference get away when our now 13 year old son was only 5 months old. We have three sons, 15, 13 and 8 1/2, so we could really use another “weekend to remember.” My hubby's b'day is in Feb and he's currently without a job, so I would love to surprise him with an early celebration.

    • April

It has been about 3 years since we were able to get away. It would be a nice little trip if we were to win!

    • Jmac38

What is a weekend getaway….with work, kids his schedule, my schedule, I thought those were when we were dating 12 years ago. Wish I could experience them again.

    • angie

beautiful place! the last time we had a weekend away was before our 3 year old was born. with baby #3 due in april we are hoping to do it again before then!
      thanks!

    • Lknieriem

My son is 5 so it's been 6 years since my husband and I have gotten away without the kids. My in-laws live in Alabama so we would have babysitters!!

    • Kendra Ardis

I seriously do not remember the last time my husband and I went away for the weekend. Perhaps our last anniversary? He just finished grad school a few weeks ago (so proud!), so finding a school-free weekend was hard. I would LOVE to win this!

    • amywebb

The thought of going away with my sweet, hard working husband is so inviting. We have been married 18 years and have in that time had 3 boys, 14,12 and 3 years old. We have been away one time and really enjoyed being together. The past 2 years have been even more stressful due to my mom fighting breast cancer, my deciding to quit my job to stay home and the uncertainty of my husband job in car sells. He works between 60 and 70 hours a week and I miss him! Thankfully, my BFF invited me to a coupon class you taught last year and I have been able to stretch our pennies! If you pick us-I promise we will be grateful!!

      • amywebb

OH! We have been away for a weekend together one time in 18 years..I just saw that I was not clear. Thanks!

    • Tcturpin99

It has been two years since our last get away, of course we took 14 children and grandchildren with us!!!
      Just my hubby and I?
      I can't remember maybe 30 years?
I think maybe our honeymoon back in Nov. 1981
Look what happened, way back then 4 children and 7 grandchildren later…….

    • Margie

The last time my husband and I got away together was on our honeymoon over three years ago. We stayed in a bed and breakfast in Asheville then and loved it.

    • Jpvedder

We went just overnight last May, but a weekend would be perfect right now!!

    • Samantha

Our last weekend away was sometime well before our now two and a half year old was born. We live in Alabama, so this would not be very far for us to travel.

    • Leanie

Our marriage hit rock bottom this year after 27 years of marriage. Only by God's continual daily grace are we together. We have 6 children. Our oldest son is a drug addict who is heavily influenced by satan. Our oldest daughter moved out last night because she cannot respect her parents. We have 3 girls and 1 boy still living at home. They share a bedroom as we live in a 1,000 sqaure foot, two bedroom townhome. We lost our home 3 years ago to foreclosure so I am grateful to have this home. It is tight and the volume of 6 voices doesn't allow much quiet time. I am most grateful that we are still together and hope that somehow, someway that we can glorify God in that we stayed together. It's been 15 years since my husband and I got away alone when he had won a trip with an Insurance company. I am a stay at home mom trying to keep it all together. I would love for us to get away for a weekend to rekindle our love. But most of all to have time and quiet to meditate on the Word and hear the Lord speak to us together as a couple ~ My heart yearns for that intimacy and direction.

    • Susiedunham

It's been about 10 years since we've had a weekend getaway. We will celebrate our 23rd anniversary this April. We LOVE Bed & Breakfast getaways. How awesome it would be to win. Oh…and what a great Birthday surprise this would be for my hubby. Our birthdays are on January 19th.

    • kearstine

We are approaching our 9 yr anniversary.we have 3 boys ages 7,6,4 and were never get time alone. Between kids staying sick and the sports they are playing. It so would be nice to get away. Just to get refreshed and spend some quality time that we both need together..

    • Sarah

The view is gorgeous! Our last getaway was December 9th.

    • Theresa C.

I would love to win this! It has been 2 years since my husband and I have been away alone and we would absolutely adore this trip! Thanks for all you do!

    • Bethan

Last July my husband and I got to go out of town kid-free for a friend's wedding.

    • JLorch

Our last getaway was October 2009! Thanks Jenny and Emma's Bay!

    • Allison

The place looks beautiful! My husband and I have never had a weekend getaway. We always talk about how much fun it would be, but we're on a tight budget.

    • Merianne

This looks like a beautiful, relaxing place. My husband and I do not live near family so we have not had a weekend by ourselves since our oldest was born 7 years ago.

    • Amy J.

I would LOVE to spend a weekend in Fairhope! It's one of Alabama's most unique and beautiful cities. My husband and I got away last summer for only one night to Smith Lake. My graduate school and his job search limit what we can do, but this would be great!

    • Joy A.

We have never had a getaway since our little boy was born in October 2007 – we would LOVE this

    • Erica

exciting! It's been over 3 years since my husband and I have had any time away alone!

    • David

Our last getaway was over 3 years ago before we had kids (sad, I know)

    • Melissa

I've never been on a romantic getaway like this, wow what a nice place! The last time I had a so called weekend getaway was with my boyfriend and daughter last summer when we went to Atlanta. The trip started out with my boyfriend hitting a squirrel which he felt terrible about because he is an animal lover. The we almost got in an accident on the way there on the interstate when someone tried to come over in our lane. Then we finally made it to the hotel and my daughter got sick. We checked in and went to our room and there was loads of what looked like white sand all over the floor in the corner so we had to request a different room. The people above us must have been early risers, they woke us up at 5am to the sound of stomping, sounded like they were playing wii fit lol. We tried to make the best of the weekend and I will say the Braves won so I can't complain there but man what a weekend!

    • Rebekah J

It has been about 1 1/2 years since my husband and I have had a weekend to ourselves because our lives have been so busy. We are expecting our first child in February and who knows when we will be able to have a weekend by ourselves again.

    • C Ray

My husband and I have not had a weekend getaway since we got married in January 2008. Tomorrow, we will be spending our 3 year anniversary…working! I would LOVE this weekend getaway!

    • Bggirl28

We haven't had a weekend away for over a year. This would be perfect for an early Valentine's Day's surprise! And I love that there is a Kimberly Ann room because that's my cousin's name!

    • Julieuhroberts

Two years ago we actually went to Fairhope for a night for our 2nd anniversary. Love that town! Now we ate pregnant and would live a last vacay!

    • coupons0202

It's been over a year and a half and now we have a 10 month old! I would love a weekend with my husband!

    • Cmskelton

My husband and I had our last get away about 1.5 years ago. We would love a weekend to be alone and hey it just happens to be my BIRTHDAY weekend!!!!

    • Chris

We haven't had a weekend away since our honeymoon

    • Mapust

We go away kid free once a year! We haven't planned our 2011 trip yet!

    • Elizabeth

It's been over a year and we have 3 kids (5, 3, & 1). It's hard to have time to yourself ever! That's the weekend of the husband's birthday too!

    • Jenn

It's been about 3 years since our daughter was born. This would be A-Maz-Ing!

    • Kim

Our last couple vacation was May 2009 when we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We live in North Alabama but my folks live about 90 minutes from Fairhope so my kids could spend some time with their grandparents while we spend some time alone! Thanks, Jenny.

    • Jennifermarie Spada

I'm entering for my Mom, after spending more than half her life taking care of others being a nurse, its time she is taken care of. December 21st will go down as one of the worst days in my life, that's the day we found out she has lung cancer. Last week we found out not only has it attacked her lungs but it has also found its way into her bones, making it a stage 4 cancer. She is the most caring, loving , dedicated Mom and deserves nothing but the best. Please consider my Mom for this giveaway, it would be a great gateway for her before she endures the pain of clinical chemotherapy. Thank you and please keep her in your prayers.

    • Allyson

      It's been TOO long…

    • Jilbeanie

A WEEKEND away? My husband ad I were talking about this topic just last night. Im a VERY over-protected mom of 2 boys(4 and 8 months). At this point , I have not let anyone babysit my 8 month old, except for family.
The last time we went away, without kids, was probably when my 4 year old was about 2.
Id love to win this and surprise my husband as an early deployment(sometime in July)/Valentines Day(February of course)/Anniversary(May) surprise.
And if I cant use it, Id love to bless my parents.

    • Nicole

November 2009 was our last weekend getaway. Reading the other comments makes me realized we all need to start taking better care of us!!!! Early congrats to the winner!

    • janice

My husband and I have 6 children ranging from 12 to 20 months. We have a very hard time going away due to activities and babysitters and such. So, we just don't go away. I can't even remember the last time my husband and I got away. I think it was 2 years ago. Would love this!

    • Erin

My husband is a pastor so getting away for a weekend is very difficult. We got away earlier this year for a friend's wedding, but it will be many months until we get away again.

    • Trenee30

It has been more years than I can count. At least 8 years, because I was diagnosed with cancer then. Prior to that we were seperated but have since reunited this would be the perfect get away.

    • Mbolin

My husband and I have not taken a weekend getaway in 10 years. :( We're approaching our 18th anniversary (April). I've never been to the area of Fairhope, AL and would love to see the Gulf! I hope we win!!!!!!!!!!! :)

    • D. Shirley

The last time we went away for the weekend was summer of 2009 to celebrate our 10yr anniversary. I was hoping it wouldn't be another 10 years before our next getaway and this would give us the perfect excuse. We live in southeast Louisiana so this is pretty close!!!

    • Denise G.

Forever… We have never taken a weekend away without the kids… sound pitiful huh!. My kids are 8 and 5. We have been talking about getting away. It would be perfect.

    • Mrsclovesyou

Funny how just last week my husband and I were trying to figure out a way to “go away” together. We have been married 18 years this March. We stayed at a beautiful B&B in St. Augustine for our honeymoon. Since then nearly all of our travel has either been with our children, Janetta (who we adopted one year after getting married and is now is all grown up and living in Arizona), Lael, 9 and Jeremiah, 5 or with one of three youth groups from churches that we were youth pastors with for over 10 years. And as much as we have enjoyed all of those times, we are in great need of some time away – ALONE – TOGETHER. Thanks so much…

    • Michele

My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary in August 2009. We were pregnant then and haven't had a relaxing weekend since!

    • Layne

What a beautiful get-away! My husband and I just finished remodeling a house and would love a weekend away to relax!

    • Zwickfam4

A weekend without kids? Eight years ago. We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary yesterday and want to take a weekend without the kids. This would be a great getaway. Mom finally retired this month and is coming from Iowa to visit the kids and bond. We live in Chattanooga, TN and easy drive to the Gulf Coast Shore area. Mom of two wonderful girls, 7 and 2.

    • Our last weekend away was for the 24th and 25th for Christmas, which was short as we were short staffed at work. With all the hustle, bustle, and travel I don't consider it a holiday. Our last true vacation away was a year ago when we rented a beach house with family.

    • Ashley

I am entering for my mom as she has spent her entire life raising three children by herself, putting us first every day, and giving up a lot to make sure we are happy. She works full-time, and also worked a part-time in addition for three years. My mom is the tiredest person all of us know, and deserves to treat herself, which I don't think she has ever done. It would be wonderful to surprise her with a get-away, she could finally relax and Emma's Bay House looks like just the place mom would enjoy.

    • Melinda

My husband and I went away for our 28th wedding anniversary in November. We try to get away 4 times a year. This would be perfect timing. :)

    • Angie

It's been nearly four years since I've had a weekend getaway sans kids! (That was before they were born!) They've made my life all the better and I wouldn't change it for the world but a weekend away would be rather wonderful!

    • Amy

This would be the best gift ever!! My husband and I have been married for 15 yrs and met in high school. We have 4 children and the last time we got away was our honeymoon!! But, the best moments remembered are the ones you rarely get to take! Thanks for giving us a chance at this once in a lifetime opportunity!!

    • mommynurse

I have been looking for a weekend away with my husband for over 3 years. Our kids are 5 & 7 and we both work full time. I have just finished by Masters and he is getting ready to go back to school in the summer……..probably another 3 years before we can even think about going again. We love our children and our lives, but we really could use a weekend to reconnect. We have been married for 13 years now. Fingers & toes crossed for good luck!!!!!!

    • jenn

probably a year since a weekend alone away! This would be an awesome break for my husband from work and classes!

    • Gbrooksatl

5 years ago when I flew to Atlanta to house hunt with my husband.

    • Tammy

The last time my husband and I got away without any of our 5 children for a romantic getaway escapes my mind. Emma's House looks like a great romantic spot with beatiful sunsets and sunrises to enjoy each other's company.

    • Ami

My hubby & I went away for Christmas but the cold weather came in so we had to leave early. He works so hard that I would love to sweep him away as an early Valentine's Day gift. He always surprises me so it would be nice to surprise him. We love romantic getaways so it would be fun and exciting to check a new place out.

    • Amy

I couldn't tell you how long it has been since I have had a weekend away with my husband. I believe it was when my daughter was 5 and she is 11 now. We are always so busy. We just celebrated our 12th wedding Anniversary on the 16th of January. I would love to win this!!

    • Jennifer

The last weekend getaway my husband and I went on was our honeymoon!! We have been trying to save money since we got married to buy a house (which we are closing on on the 25th!!)

    • Angela

I WANT TO GIVE THIS TO MY PARENTS!! My husband and I just had a long weekend in Phoenix while my parents had our 3 children. My mom also supervised their homeschooling! all the while my dad was visiting his father in the hospital during the snow storm that hit Alabama and Georgia! THEY DESERVE A BREAK!! Thanks Jenny!

    • Strsc83

IT has been a a year and a half. We now have a daughter and have not been able to get away since she was born.

    • SH

It has been way too long! About 3 years. Looks like it will be longer since I am expecting again. Did I mention how much I would LOVE to win this trip!!!!!

    • Mandy

The last time my husband and I had a get away was before our boys were conceived : 5-1/2 yrs and 2-1/2 yrs. In the summer of 2004 we traveled from central Florida to Washington DC… (reminiscing sigh and smile)…

    • kdm3

I can not even remember when my last weekend get away was. The last vacation was in 1999. The life of a single mom and get aways don't always mix!

    • Wilk350

I don't even know what a weekend away is!!! I can't think of a time my husband and I have gotten away since our honeymoon 15 years ago. My husband hardly get time off and then when he does, we always end up having to visit family that live out of state. The B&B looks beautiful and the views look soooo relaxing. We would love this opportunity!

    • Lizel

It has been at least 8 years since me and my husband have gone off by ourselves.

    • Jb122383

I'm entering for my daughter and son-in-law. Their last get-a-way was on their honeymoon in Dec 2008. Since that time they have had my most precious grandson. He is 6 mos. old now. They would LOVE this!! Thank you for offering!

    • Toni

My husband and I got married in 2007. I have a daughter from a previous marriage, so we didn't take a honeymoon. We didn't even go away without her that weekend. I had my son in August 2008. Then, at 6 weeks old my mom kept him for us to go away for a night. That is the last and only time we have ever been way alone together. I don't know if either one of us would know how to act if we had 2 days together alone My son is 29 months and that is the only time he has ever spent the night away from home. It's been too long! Congrats to whoever wins this trip! :)

    • Christi

The last time my husband and I got away by ourself was a few years ago. We have been married almost six years- we have two kids, 5 and 2. Our anniversary is coming up in March and well lets just say we have basketball, soccer, and a baby shower to attend, so we are so swamped with doing stuff for our kids, neices and nephews, and friends we do not have time to ourselves! Our childless nights usually consist of going to the grocery store without our kids- WE ARE LAME! But sometimes that is the only time we get to spend with each other. My husband will be gone in May for work for 4 weeks straight, this would be a great surprise for my husband and I to finally have “our time”. Good luck to everyone and if I dont get chosen, I hope the 2 that do have a great romantic fun filled night with the significant other!

    • Kristi

It has been a few years since my husband and I had a weekend away for just the two of us. Two years ago, we had planned on a weekend in Mobile at the Battle House but had to cancel due to a family members emergency surgery. Emma's Bay House is a beautiful B&B. This would be a great suprise for my husband's birthday. He is so hard to buy for and we love Fairhope….the shops are great!!!!
      Good luck to everyone!

    • Karyn

I am a single mother of two boys. I havent spent a weekend away from them that did not involve working in about 8 years! They are nine and eleven.

    • Joshua77

Not since my first child was born who is now 10.

    • Becka

Well, I can honestly say that I have never had a weekend away with just me and my husband of 20 years. But one sure would be nice!

    • Lyssaturner

Our last getaway was before our 2 year old was born. How mice to have a weekend to look at the sunset in a beautiful bed and breakfast in Fairhope, Sweet Home, Alabama! We have family in Mobile, so this would be absolutely fantastic! Crossing my fingers from Marietta, GA!

It's been about a year…not since my baby was born.

    • Melissa

My husband and I got married in 2007 and we haven't had a weekend get away in two years. He is an awesome man and I don't know what I would do without him. I think I would like this weekend (if chosen) more for him than for me. He works full-time and has been patient with me letting me go to school and chase my dream. It has been difficult for us, but he has been awesome through it all. Thank you for this opportunity!

    • Gretch26

we are expecting our first child in 2 weeks! this would be the perfect getaway after some stressful and sleepless months that lie ahead!! we live in jackson, ms and this is a perfect distance for a weekend getaway! thanks jenny!!

    • debmtn

Please!! Please!! Please!! It has been over 2 years since our last get away but even more we our coming off the hardest year of our almost 18 year marriage! My husbands business (construction) has struggled greatly due to the economy, so a weekend away is completely out of the budget. We have also had a difficult year in our marriage, yet thanks to my Heavenly Father, we've weathered the storm still in love and determined to make it wotk for one another and our 4 amazing children. This would literally be an answer to a prayer~

    • Stephaniek

My husband and I had a much needed weekend away on our 10 yr. anniversary 4 years ago, just a few months after the tornado hit. Since that time we've rebuilt our home and had another child – now 2 yrs. old. So after 4 years, I'm ready for another weekend away – but not necessarily for another child. 40 is just around the corner! LOL

    • Alangston

I have not been any where alone with my husband since we were married in march of 1992… It would be awesome to go somewhere together.. :~)

    • Teresa

My mother-in-law, one of the dearest women on earth to me, could use this more than one could imagine. She is a selfless woman who, sadly, is now a widow after taking care of a disabled husband for many years along with raising two children and teaching mentally handicapped students full-time. Now retired with her children grown and raising children of their own, this is the perfect time to shower her with such a beautiful gift of self pampering and indulgence in complete rest and relaxing. Please consider her for this lovely retreat. She gives, gives, gives and I would love the opportunity to allow her to “receive” for once. She has managed to do for others all her life, now it's time for others to do for her. Thank you for your consideration.

    • Crzbldragon

I has been over a year since our last get away. I was laid off work in July and have been umeployed since then and going back to school so money is very tight. I have the best husband ever he is working 2 jobs and sleeps only about 4 hours a night due to his jobs, so that I can attend school and still be home for our children in the evenings. This would give us a chance to slow down and just be together with no interuptions, not to metion this is his birthday weekend so that would be even more special.

    • Darrell Whitehead

      Hey,

I looked around your website and tried to enter my name in the give-a-way.

My wife and I, as well as our three boys used to live in Mobile. We still consider it our home and try to come back as often as possible.

As a minister and father of three we don’t often get to have a weekend for ourselves. It would be so great to surprise my beautiful and deserving wife for a quick weekend away.

Thanks so much for your consideration.

      Have a blessed day.

      Darrell W. Whitehead

    • Courtney

it has been at least 4 years since I had a weekend getaway, and never have had one with my hubby of 2 years. We haven't even had a real honeymoon yet :(

    • dana

I have not had a trip away with my husband since our honeymoon. We were married June 22, 2001! :(

    • Denicsmith

Its probably been about a year for us – we love getting away when we can though!

    • Kim

A weekend away? All my “vacations” are visits to see family who live out of state. I love visiting with family, but I've never really had a true get-away-from-it-all vacation except my honeymoon and one trip to DisneyWorld 1995.

    • ginger

It has been 6 1/2 years since we have gotten away! whew. Sad. But, all of my family lives within an hour drive of here so I know one of us would use and LOVE it! :) Thanks!

    • Rickandteresa

Our last weekend getaway was when I was pregnant with my 1st daughter-6 years ago. I have pictures from Myrtle Beach-6 months pregnant. Those are some great memories.

    • Tonya

Let me see…. 12, 8, & 6… it has been 11 years since my husband I have had a weekend away. Emma's Bay House looks amazing and full of romance and the finer things in life. I can't help but think of another couple that would be more deserving of this than myself. We have a couple who is a part of our church that have been seperated by jobs and circumstances. One lives here in South Carolina, the other lives in Louisianna. The Emma Bay House would be almost half way for them. This couple has now been seperated for 8 months, only being able to see each other on special occassions – Thanksgiving and Christmas. Because of their situation, living away from each other looks to be about 10 more months. Though they are a strong family who love the Lord, wIth four children, all under 12, things are tough on them. They deserve something like this!

    • Aecarnes

It's been, probably, over six years since my great hubby and I have had a getaway together. This would be an AWESOME surprise to him!

    • Last time… my honeymoon

    • Zeina

That place is so beautiful!! The last time me and my husband got away was 4 years ago when we took an anniversary trip and came back pregnant with my second child. that weekend is also my birthday. It would be perfect.

    • Brendac

We haven't ever gone on a weekend getaway trip. My husband and I have been married for ten years and have had a vacation together but it is usually with my kids or we take my parents because they can't travel alone. We live in Tennessee, but I think it would be great to take a road trip to alabama just to get some time to ourselves. We became grandparents for the first time last january and our second grandchild is on the way in May. I didn't even realize we hadn't had time away on our own until I read this and decided it would be great to enter.

Thanks for making this possible and I don't envy you having to read all of the entries. Good luck to you as well.

      Brenda Miller

    • Theresa S.

It has been almost 10 years since my husband and I have been able to go away together! We have three beautiful children, 11, almost 10 and 8. My husband works 2 jobs, both of which are a two hour commute. He is away from home over half of every month and we only get to spend time together every other weekend (most of which is with the kids who miss him dearly while he is gone!) So, needless to say, our time together is VERY limited. The past 6 months, we have grow together in our relationship, even with all of the stress of being apart. Time away like this would be a welcome break!!

    • Ksilvers04

my husband and i have 3 children…We have only had one weekend getaway alone the entire time we have been married, and that was our first anniversary years ago!

    • S Aultman

Last April we lovingly combined two single parent families into one big family with five teenagers all living at home. Our income varies and thats make our budget vary… but my sweet husband never complains… even when our alone time consists of our weekend trip to the grocery store. I am new at this couponing thing… really new… just this past week I put together my coupon booklet and made my list and drug my sweet husband from store to store as I tried my best to save us money… feeding these teenagers on a very tight budget is not an easy task… but sharing this task with someone so wonderful makes it seem the easiest task in the world… It would be just lovely if you saw fit to bless us with a weekend away…

    • Sonja2874

I am not even sure what a weekend get away is at this point. Last time we got away was 3 years ago to mount dora fl, which is exactly 8 miles from our house. It was wonderful none the less:)

    • Mrsangierogers

Oh my, that sounds like fun. Sign me up.

    • Heather

We haven't been away since our first child was born almost 5 years ago. Due to a job change we moved 26 hours away from our families right before our second son was born so we never, ever have time just the two of us. We sure would love a weekend away to get to know each other again!

    • liz

      does Christmastime count?

    • Sheila

I can tell you exactly how long it has been since my husband and I have had a night alone together – 12 years and 7 months. Since that time we have moved eight times in five different states and have had two additional children, one who was diagnosed with autism. If only I had known what was a head of me, I would have enjoyed that vacation even more than I did! :) Sheila in TN

    • Mandi Logan

I have never been to a bed and breakfast before so this would be a real treat. We have not been away alone in over 4 years. Great contest !

    • NancyMac

I had a “getaway” New Year's Eve Weekend that was miserable!!! I had to drive from Birmingham to Atlanta on New Year's Eve afternoon, which I would not recommend ANYONE ever do. And then it rained the entire next day, which did not matter anyway because my boyfriend and I both got sick and ended up staying in the hotel for the rest of the weekend. I could really use this getaway!!!!!!!!!!

    • Lindsey Morrison

It has been one and a half years since my husband and got married and went on our last getaway. This may not sound very long, but when I work all day and my husband is a police officer and works at night, it feels like 10 years. We only had 2 days for our honeymoon. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. But times were tough and work only allowed so much time off. I would love to treat my wonderful husband to this trip. By some miracle these are his days off for this month. I can’t think of a better way to spend some quality time together in such a romantic place. Please consider us for this once in a life time opportunity. Thank you and God bless.

    • Emily

We have not had a weekend alone since our baby was born 11-10-09. We would love the weekend getaway, but I am not complaining because she is such a blessing!!

    • jessica1970

At the risk of sounding pathetic, my hubby and I have been married 8 years. We have a 7 year old daughter and we have NEVER gone away for even one night — not even on our honeymoon. We went to the movies. As far as any vacation goes, it has been nearly 28 years since I've gone overnight anywhere away from home that wasn't work related (and even for work, that's only been once in the last 15 years). My husband's last trip out of town was for a funeral about 10 years ago. Yeah, we need a break.

    • Nita

7 years…and that was a one night getaway. It would be great to win!

    • Tammyhouse

WOW…it's been a while! Can't even remember. lol My husband works days and I work nights so the time together and getaways are far and few between. This would be awesome because our 20 year anniversary is Feb 1.

    • Meg S

It's been a little over a year now. Would love to win this!

    • Missy8055

Well, considering I have an 18 month old..and another one due in just 7 short weeks..I'd say it's been awhile! My husband lost his job in September and I have been unable to find work because I am having a baby so soon..SO I've been to your couponing class trying to learn how to save us money!! I feel awful for my husband though, he has just been SO depressed because he is unable to find work..most employers tell him he is overqualified! As the head of the household I am sure he feels immense pressure to provide for us and well, the unemployment check is not going to do it. I wish I could get him out of town for a few days..get his mind off the things of this world and just enjoy each others company. I would definitly find a sitter for our almost 2 year old and since we would have any money any time in the future that I can see to travel again for awhile, we would be SO grateful for the experience! Thanks for all you do!

    • Jennifer

We're been married for 7 years and used to take little trips here and there when we first got married, but haven't since having our son two years ago. Now we have another one on the way and it would be lovely to have a little get-away before baby #2 comes! :)

    • abj

This would be amazing for us. We have not had a trip away together since our honeymoon 11 years ago in August of 1999. We went to Fairhope and stayed at a B&B named Baybreeze which was on the bay. We fell in love with that town! Our oldest of three is 8 and has Juvenile Diabetes and we have never felt comfortable being away. If we had this opportunity it would help us make that step that would be so important fr us.

    • 3kris08

The last time we had a getaway together was in March 2002. It was my sister-in-laws wedding, so we left our 6 month-old with my mom. This would be great because the revival is going on in Mobile, AL and we could spend time alone and get to experience a great move of God!!!

    • Meg

I don't think hubby and I have had a weekend away since children and the oldest just turned 8! Would sure love this chance….

    • LilNavyWife

I'd love to donate this to my brother and sister-in-law. I don't know when they last had a weekend alone, but with 4 young kids I know it doesn't happen often!

    • LilNavyWife

I'd love to donate this to my brother and sister-in-law. I don't know when they last had a weekend alone, but with 4 young kids I know it doesn't happen often!

    • Jessica

      Hi Jenny,
This place looks heavenly and to my happy surprise it's located just a little south of us!! We've never taken a couples vacation, much less a weekend getaway since we've been married….18 years! Come to think of it, the only time I remember us “getting away”, even when we were dating, was to a Nascar race in Talladega. Now don't get me wrong – that was a fun trip too, but a B&B getaway would hit the spot at this point in our lives.
      Thanks Jenny!
      Jessica

    • Gena

The last weekend I had away was last year on my anniversary!

    • becky

Without kids!? We have not had a weekend getaway without our kids since our honeymoon. lol we were married Dec 11, 1994! …Becky

    • Countryboyhays

We have 6 (11-4) and my s-i-l lives with us, she has 7(13-2). So our house of 16 is lacking in the private time and space. My husband and I, of 12 years, would love time together away. It has been since our 10th anniversary since we have been away together.

    • kp

Its been about three years so we are due for a weekend away and it looks beautiful!

    • Schankia

I can not think of the last time I had a weekend getaway it has been so long. I am a mother who works full time and I am also a full time student so the closest I come to a weekend getaway would be hiding out in the bathroom the only quiet zone in my house, lol (that is until they begin to beat on the door.) To win the weekend getaway would mean being able to sleep in until at least 9 without having to worry about who is going to do what.

    • Amy

Due to the economy, it has been a while :))

    • Rachel Raber

after reading some of these posts I dont even want 2 win (seriously) i wouldnt want 2 deprive someone else of it. I just want 2 bless u for making this possible for someone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (this is NOT an entry)

    • Missy

It has been quite some time for us. Seems like everytime we make plans, something happens and we can't quite swing it!

    • emilyc

Would love to surprise my husband with this! i love fairhope and we havent been there in years! i think before kids-over 13 years ago!

    • Ummmm……..oh yeah it was our anniversary a couple of years ago.

    • Friend

I would like to donate this trip to a friend who was recently married but unable to go on a honeymoon. This would be a wonderful way to start their lives together.

    • sandnsable

one year ago, we went gambling in biloxi

    • Cdcasey

My husband and I don't get away enough. In the past 10 yrs of marriage we have had 5 or 6 weekends away. This would be a much needed blessing.

    • susan

Hmmmmm…..I'm a single mother so most of my 'free' weekends are spent catching up from the week. Not so restful. It's been a while; so long that I can't remember!

    • angie

I've never been to a B&B, our last get away was during the summer. We always go the Sandbar. ( I know it sounds like a redneck getaway right?). We were married 25 years this past Dec. I had hoped for a special treat then, but just did not happen.
I think I would enjoy the drive time with my husband as much as the getaway!

    • Alison English

This place is lovely and it is actually where my little brother got married. The ammentities are wonderful and the owner precious! My hubby and I haven't had a weekend off since this summer. Since losing my job it isn't in the cards for us to do it again in the near future. Would love to win. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

    • Goettin

It has been a few years since my husband and I have had a weekend away. The B&B looks fabulous and would be a wonderful 25th anniversary getaway. :) Thanks for the opportunity! :)

    • Jfanning3

I have 4 kids, I work full time and I am a full time college student, so I have had little time for breaks. My last weekend away would have been probably 10 years ago. I would adore the opportunity to kick back and relax!!

    • Cgmunga

I cant tell you how long it has been since we could get away by ourselves. Our 10 year old daughter is typically the center of all spare time, so never much time for alone time. I live in Mobile, but being able to hop, skip, and jump over to Emma's (also my daughter's name) beautiful bed and breakfast would be such a treat!!!

    • Mandi

Wow! What a gorgeous B&B! My husband and I could definitely use this weekend away. It has been since earlier this summer since we've had a getaway from the kiddos. :-)

    • Nan

We'll be married 30 years this year and it's been about 2 years since we've had a weekend away. We've never been to a bed and breakfast and we've never gotten to go away for Valentine's day. This place looks heavenly!

    • Momof3

We've been married for 9 years. Our last get away was 6 years ago. We went to Disney for a week. Haven't had the funds to get away since starting a family.

    • momof4

this would be an amazing getaway for my husband and me. we have been married this year for 15 years and this month is his 34 birthday .We have 3girls and 1boy this would help jump start the year off right thanks for the chance

    • Leekelhank

My husband is a police officer and I stay home and homeschool our two kids, 7 and 10 years old. We did not have a honeymoon, and the last time we went away together, was well, never. We have never spend a weekend away from the kids, between his busy job and finances, it has never been an option. What a joy it would be to have a chance to do so.

    • ml

Since our “babymoon” two summers ago. And have had only two “date nights” since then!

    • ashley

Our last weekend getaway was for our first anniversary – six years ago.

    • Dana

I have been married for 18 and a half years, and I don't guess we have had any kind of weekend away since our first daughter was born, and she is 12. What a beautiful place. It would be amazing and a dream come true to get to go!

    • Mjburdick

What a beautiful Bed and Breakfast! The last time we got away was 10 years ago for our honeymoon. This would be awesome if we won because we are looking at Bed and Breakfasts to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

    • Coupons

It's beautiful, and as I live in Birmingham…I'd love to go. My husband and I have not had a weekend away in three years – since our child was born. All of our family lives 16 + hours away from us.

    • Jmholley

We have NEVER had a weekend away by ourselves, when we were dating we went away, but with family memebers, never had a honeymoon and now since we have had children we have been places but WITH them and other family memebers. I don't know what to do if we won this, we wouldn't know how to act!!!!!

    • Couponkelleym

It is a beautiful bed and breakfast. It would be a special way to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. Our last time away was in September for our 5th anniversary.

    • Lauren

My husband and I have been married for 3 years in June. We haven't had a weekend away to ourselves in about a year. He is always planning such awesome things to surprise me, and I would love to surprise him with something like this! We have never stayed at a B & B before. It looks beautiful!

    • Loueffie

Gosh, I can't even remember, it's been so long. Thanks for the awesome give away!

    • Sandy565

The last time I had a weekend away was last summer. Hubby and my 2 best friends went to the mountains! Great times but I would like a weekend away with just the hubby! :)

    • Missemilyjames

I am not married…but the last girls weekend get-away that was to a fun bed and breakfasty type place was well over 7 years ago.

    • Cmorgan729

So beautiful! I love going to the gulf, but I've haven't been in 3.5 years. Since before the kids the were born. Now we have to travel to see the family up north, which is great but if feels like we need a vacation from our vacation. My husband and I haven't been on a getaway since before the kids were born 3 years ago. We need some R&R since number three is on the way. It's just going to get more crazy around here.

    • Jennifer

The last time I had a real weekend away was back in August! I'm long overdue for one!

    • Thomas

My wife and I just hit 32 yrs together, it's been a while since we got away. Thanks the the chance Jenny!

    • Cyndibjack

Two weeks before Christmas I kidnapped my husband for a night at Myrtle Beach. We had not traveled alone since my son was born 12 and 1/2 years ago. The only time we have stayed in a bed breakfast was when my son was in the hospital 2 years ago and the closest room we could find was a bed and breakfast across the street.

    • Kim

I met my fiance 1 1/2 ago and we are getting married in June of this year. We have not been away by ourselves YET!! I have 2 boys from a previous marriage and we take them wherever we go. I was really hoping to take a mini vacation before the wedding so that our honeymoon wouldn't be our first getaway alone.

    • Sclark55

My last weekend trip was in November! We have 3 wonderful children and it is so hard to get away, I would love to win!

    • Jessica

4 years before our boys were born and before we moved to South Carolina

    • Yolli

I haven't had a weekend getaway since July 2007. Its been WAY too long

    • ChurchvilleStore

My 11th anniversary is January 28. We have been looking for a special place to go and have never been to a bed and breakfast before. Having 3 kids at home it has been a very long time since my husband and I have been somewhere alone…what a great anniversary gift! Thanks for the consideration!

    • Norma

yipee! this is one time I'm glad I live in AL! umm the last time I got to get away with my hubby and no kids?? um, not since the kids were born 6 years ago!

    • Barbie1032

My 31 st anniversary was the 10th of Janurary . We were snowed in from the icestorm
in Atlanta. We also help take care of grandbaby. We need a quiet getaway. That would be fun if I win.

    • Sherrie Hursh

On Feb. 12th of this year it will be 19 years since my husbands and my first date! We hope to go away…and this would be perfect!! It has been about a year since we've had an over night outing. Thanks for the contest!!

      • oneplustwins

I just had to reply to Sherrie….My husband and I's first date was on Feb 12, too, although 16 years ago. Got married on that day 11 years ago…funny!! Michelle

    • cc2010

My husband and I would be so honored to receive a wonderful get-a-way like this! I recently graduated from college and he works full time in law enforcement. It's been at least 3 years since our last trip anywhere.

    • Nancy

On our honeymoon in 2005 we stayed at a B&B. We were very surprised to find we were the only guests that week… what a wonderful experience for us. Our innkeepers were a sweet older couple that fell all over us. We returned vowing we would go to a B&B at least once a year… then life took over! :) It's been three children and almost 6 years later since we said that, no B&B's to speak of. While we cherish our children we realize we must make our marriage a priority so we can grow old together after our children leave. :) Thanks for letting me relive such a wonderful memory!

    • lunchlady123

It will be 10 years on 03/17 since we've “been away”….our honeymoon. Careers, kids, the economy….you name it, it's been a reason why we couldn't go. This would be the one reason we COULD go. Thanks for the chance!!!

    • Collinsbrad

Well, we went away in Nov. Spent one nite in a hotel and the next with family. Our youngest stayed home with the middle daughter and we received calls about a sore throat while gone. You guessed it got home and she had strep. The getaway wasn't a totally bad getaway but not all that Emma's looks like it could be.

    • guest

With our first baby on the way, I would LOVE to have a getaway with my husband. It has been a while since the two of us have had a getaway since we have been preparing for the baby. This would be awesome right before he comes in a couple of months :)

    • Katie Burnette

Oh I would love to have a weekend away with my husband. We haven't had a weekend away without the kids in 5 years and have very few date nights (our last one was Valentines LAST year…GEESH). We would love a great relaxing trip!

    • Mic

A beautiful B&B! It has been over two years since our last getaway…busy schedules with 10, 9 and 12 month old!! Would love to take a surprise pre-valentine trip to relax, unwind and re-new!

    • Taffagarcia

Its been 7 years…pre-kids! My husband is in Physican Assistant school so even getting to see him is a luxury! This would be AMAZING!

    • oneplustwins

Hubby and I had one night in Knoxville for a wedding last August. Stayed downtown so we could walk around Old Town and hit some pubs after the reception…got back to the hotel, changed out of wedding reception clothes, went to the elevator and looked outside, it was pouring rain, I mean it was like a monsoon! So that nixed our plans. With a slumber party to get geared up for with about 10-14 six and eight year olds, we need a break!!

    • Jennifer

Weekend getaway? What's that? Seriously cannot remember when was the last time we actually get to go somewhere (for a weekend) for relaxation! This would be so nice to win :-) Thank you!

    • Mandy

Would love to take a trip with my hubby for Valentine's Day. The last time my hubby and I got away was when I was pregnant with my twins (almost 3.5 years ago). We would so LOVE this!

    • Mmhalley

Hello. A friend of mine recently introduced me to your website. Have to say that I absolutely love it. My husband and I have never been to a bed & breakfast and I don't remember the last time we have gotten away. We just had our first child December 19th and it has been quite the challenge. Gettig away to reconnect would be wonderful. Thanks.

    • Fcjones06

What a beautiful location. It has been over 3 years since we got away as a couple…pre kids. We now have a 2 year old and a one month old and a getaway would be such a treat!

    • Holliejolly

I am 24, my husband and I have 5 children and I haved lived alone since I was sixteen. I don't remember ever getting to “go away” for a weekend.

    • Gynlyngyrl

My Parents, who have been married 40 yrs this april have not had a getaway for just the two of them since their 25th wedding anniversary. I would love to see them have this, for they are so selfless and work so hard, and although have experienced economical setbacks in the last two years, are so upbeat and positive and always giving.

    • Jamie Heard

Emma's website was absolutely breathtaking! It's been atleast three years since my husband and I have been on a romantic (kid free) getaway. I miss having him all to myself and I would desperately LOVE to win this getaway!

    • Kittychatalot

It has been about 4 years since me and the dh got some beautiful time in a beautiful spot!

    • Ktunnell

This B&B looks beautiful. I've never stayed at a B&B before. The last time we got away was for our anniversary last Aug.

    • SC MOM

I've never been to a bed and breakfast and can't remember the last time we were away alone. It looks beautiful.

    • andrea

I can't remember the last time we did. My husband has RA and we had a death in the family last month with a long illness, 1 daughter graduating law school last fall and another graduating college and getting married the year before. It's been at least 3 years. What a great trip.

Already made a post about how long it's been. I just failed to mention that this place is beautiful and that I had no idea it was even there. This would be a great setting for my anniversary that's coming up! : )

    • Michelle

I have never had a weekend away!!!

    • GwenB.

Our son is 11 years old. My husband and I have not had a weekend getaway since he was born. A get away is needed!

    • Jessica

I am entering for my parents, who always enjoy a getaway. Their 23rd anniversary is coming up, and I believe their last weekend away was for their last anniversary.

    • dealfinder86

My husband and I haven't had a weekend away since our honeymoon. Which was Oct. 2009. Not too long ago– but we are still over due for a nice, romantic getaway!

    • I would love to win this giveaway for my parents! They've never spent a weekend away from us kids and it's been 20+ years since they've had a relaxing weekend without kids

    • Courtney

Just me and my hubby?? At least 3 years ago, but last April for my birthday we went to a log cabin in GA with our best friends. It was fun, but it's different being with a couple vs. being alone. :-)

    • Mydeere5

Beautiful B&B…we've been married 14 years and have 3 kids 3,6 & 9. We haven't had a getaway in at least 6 years.

    • rivkah

Haven't been away with my honey since July.

    • Ashley

The last time that I have had a weekend getaway was 4 years ago on my honeymoon. Our anniversary is Jan 20th and we would LOVE to win!

    • Terriodum

I am entering this contest for my mom! She is a 3 time survivor of Stage IV Non-Hodkins Lymphoma and is finally returning to her oldself, after her 2nd stem cell transplant. This horrible disease has taken a toll on our whole family. Constant caregiving and support from our whole family is how we got through this. Because of her strength and perseverance, she has continued to improve each and every day. Side effects still are there even long after the intense treatment is over. I know a weekend getaway would definitely be out of their budget, as my dad lost his job due to the economy. They live a very simple life and have really gotten even closer to each other over the past few years. Please choose me and give my parents a much needed break from the stressful past 9 years of living with cancer! :)

    • Jcooke5

The last time we had a weekend getaway for the two of us was about ten years ago. My parents kept our 'baby' (who is now 12 years old) while we went to Ashville to see the Biltmore House at Christmas time.

    • becca

      since baby #'1 was born!

    • Tqthomp

I have been married almost 28 years and I honestly cannot remember the last time my husband and I had a weekend away! We lived in Alabama for 10 years and absolutely loved it. We would really enjoy winning!!!

    • Krysten

My husband and I have been married for 17 years and we have NEVER had a weekend away by ourselves (with the exception of our honeymoon). Our children are 11 and 7. To tell ya the truth, probably wouldn't know what to do with ourselves….

    • bamamom09

It would be nice to have a get-away with my husband! It's been a while because it's not that easy to get away with a 16 month old baby! There's not looking like a financial chance of any vacation this year. This would be a great refresher!

    • Geecheegirl2004

I just asked my husband if we could use this, he replied you and your mother could have a wonderful weekend and you could go to Biloxi on the way home! Gotta love him. Now here is the real story. My husband and I just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. In these 5 years we have adopted 3 babies with the first coming 1 month after our wedding. So we have not had time away in 8 years and until the children are older we won't be able to. So we take turns sneaking off with friends or family and save our family vacations with our children. I would welcome the quiet weekend away spending time with my mom. Please pick me as we are waiting for our 4th adoptee to arrive sometime next month..(we have 5 children total). Thanks, Pat B/Florida

    • Cpresnal

My husband and I will be married 28 years on Jan 30,2011. We have not been on a weekend getaway in years and will not be able to any time soon, He had to take a job making alot less due to health issues which doctors have not diagnoised yet. It would be wonderful to be able to surprise him with this trip. thanks Cheryl

    • Tjernigan

OMG My cousin who lives right on the border of Mississippi and Alabama is getting married and they have no money for honeymoon this would be great present!!!

    • Pam

I want to win this! First of all I can't remember the last time hubs and I had a get away at a B&B and this is perfect I could drop the kiddos off at the grandparents on the way. Andto make it even sweeter it just happens to be hubs birthday weekend what a great gift that would make. Pick me Pick me!

    • Megan

This would be amazing! I live in North Florida and my husband recently got transferred to Ohio. He is only able to fly south on certain weekends (NOT Valentine's Day!) but this prize is for the weekend he will be home! And we could drive to Mobile for cheap! Our last weekend getaway was probably some time last Spring.

    • KarenH

It has been 3 years in June since my husband and I have had a getaway just to ourselves without any other family members. We actually went to Gulf Shores Alabama and if you can believe it we took a day trip to Fairhope. We walked out on the pier you were talking about and saw Emma's Bayhouse B&B while standing there enjoying the view. We used to stay at B&Bs a lot but it has been a very long time since we have done that. I remember talking about how we would like to come back and stay there sometime. I hope we get to soon!

    • Tadnkim

We've been married for 13 years and for the last couple of years, we've been SO focused on getting out of debt that a weekend getaway was not on the list. This would be a nice, much needed break!

    • Tammy P

Today is our 7 year anniversary of our 1st date. Since then we have experienced many ups and downs…this past Fall my husband graduated with his nursing degree after being laid off many times from the automotive field. I feel that this is a new beginning for us and we have not had time to take a weekend getaway to celebrate.

    • Tammy

This would be a great getaway! It has been 5 years since my husband and I have had a weekend getaway. It is time for one! Thanks for the chance!

    • Kerrie

Unless you count weekend swim meets with our daughter, My husband of 13 years and I have not been away together alone since 1999, a one year delayed honeymoon of two days in Philadelphia, Mississippi which was a given to us by friends who are avid gamblers and couldn't use all of their “free” nights at the hotel. Like many of the commenters here, we have suffered thru the bad economy and layoffs. We would definately use it, since we live just outside of Birmingham.

    • Amy Fulkerson

I am a single Mom that struggles daily to stay above ground. I work so hard and never have any money to do anything, much less go on a weekend getaway. I have a wonderful boyfriend that is getting back on his feet and tries to help me as much as he can. I would love to surprise him with a weekend getaway, who knows I could come home enaged!!

    • Jeris Burns

It's been at least 5 years since our last getaway. We have family in mobile, so it would be great to go see them! We both work so hard, this would be a much needed treat!

    • ian

the last weekend getaway with out the children has been 4 years ago january! take me away!

    • Kathykackley

I am a single mom with three little boys 11,8 and 5. The B&B is beautiful – I never knew it was there in AL! The last time I was away was for my 15 year wedding anniversary two years ago – during that time my husbands affair was confirmed…..(YUCK!) I would love it get away, rest and relax! Thanks for the fun sight!

    • Malloryannis

The last time my husband and I got away was about a year and a half ago.

    • Melissa

IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS AGO. WOULD LOVE A GETAWAY

    • Allanajoy

My last weekend getaway was 5 years ago before my child. Me and my fiance would love to have this as our honeymoon!

    • g wolff

I have a friend who works night and day to take care of her 81 year old mother who has had many strokes. She also works and takes good care of her family, which includes a 1 year old. She does all this and still has a smile on her face EVERY time I see her. She has been through a lot and give so much! I'd love to offer this to her if I win!!!

    • Sapphire21

It was two years ago. Two years ago before my father passed away from cancer, my best friend moved away, losing my job and being told my child has ADHD. Two years might not seem long but to me it has been a lifetime.

    • DeeAnna

We have a 15 year old son, so that is how long its been since we have been away together. It would be AWESOME to stay at Emma's Bay House. It is beautiful. Thanks for the oppurtunity to win it.

    • JackieM

Our last getaway was over two years ago, since I was trying to finish up grad school. I just graduated in Dec. This would be a wonderful way to celebrate!

    • Christine

OMGosh Jenny, it has been SOOO long since we got away! The lst 5 years of our arriage has been filled with Hospitals, Dr appts, specialists, surgeries etc.My sweet husband suffered a massive heart attack in Nov.05 and have not been able to “get away” and enjoy on another…Come to thnk of it, life got in the way and we have been married 19.5 years and never got a “get away”.We would love the opportunity to have a wonderful weekend getaway because frankly we need one and its about time to forget the hustle and bustles of life and Drs appts.LOL.We would love to drive there, we are in the panhandle of Florida and would be soo happy:)Thank you for this opportunity!

    • Debbie S

Been married 42 years, finally got away on our 40th but would love to go to Emma's Bay House. Looks beautiful!

    • Tina Foreman

Wow! What a beautiful and peaceful place. The last time my husband, of 13 years, and I have been away together was in 2002. We went to a marriage conference and from then on children and no time away…

    • Autball

I've never been to a B&B, it has always been something that I wanted to try. Sounds so romantic! My husband & I used to take vacations- 3 years ago, but they were never ever romantic! Since we had our son, we have not had one night away or really done anything for ourselves, money has been tight as with many of you. This would be such a blessing and would help get our relationship back on track.

    • Mccrary44

My husband and I try to get a wekend away every year. This looks like a great one for this year.

    • Jenny

We have been married almost 17 years and our last trip alone was 7 yrs ago. We have had a rough couple of years with job loss, financial hardship, health problems. We would love the opportunity to get away together and be refreshed as well as spend some much needed quality time together. It would be especially special for my husband to be able to take me on a little retreat. We haven't been able to do that financially and he wants so much to be able to provide that for me (us). Thanks for the opportunity!

    • Astrokaren

My husband and I haven't had a chance to get away since our 4 year old was born….Man this would be a dream come true :)

    • Smcowan2

My husband and I got to go to New York last Spring and I think it is time for another getaway, just the two of us!

    • Sims8903

My husband and I have three small children. This would make a perfect getaway within driving distance!

    • Aemama

We try to have a night away about every 6 months to keep our marriage strong. I would love to stay at a B & B-so romantic. We have never stayed at one. Thanks!!

    • Ecantrell4

It has been a little over three years since I've had a weekend get away. I'm a single mom and I've worked two jobs for the past two years. I love your site. It has been a blessing to me and my daughter. My birthday is January 28:) What a special gift it would be to win the Emmas Bay House Bed and Breakfast Giveaway. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    • Kristin

My husband took me for my birthday in October. Thanks for the great giveaway!

    • Careycouponer

We do weekend getaways instead of long vacations. Our last one was in October when we went to Orlando for two nights. It was great! I've never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast, though!

    • Carol

It's been too long since we had an actual weekend getaway! Thirty years in ministry, required being in services with one Sunday a year off which was spent seeing family 22 hours away. Never have been to a B&B but this would be a perfect place to enjoy that experience!

    • Kathyneff

It has been so long, I can't even remember….!!! At least a couple of years!

    • Jwalker5

My husband and I managed a quick 2 day trip for his 40th birthday last year…that was the first trip without kids in YEARS! This has been a difficult year for us (like many) with layoffs and new careers. A weekend alone to regroup and plan the next chapter would be absolutely FABULOUS!

    • my3sons

With 3 small boys a weekend getaway would be greatly appreciated!!

    • Missanngambino

Hi, My husband and I had a quickie marriage do to me being pregnant and my parents not liking the idea of us getting married after having our wonderful baby boy. The wedding next to marrying an awesome guy and having my most fav grandfather there, who has now passed, was the ugliest, horrible thing I have ever partook in. We didn't even get to pick the restuarant, which has since gone out of business. Not to mention we never went on a honeymoon. Well, our anniversary is Feb 2nd and this would be great to have this since we can't afford to get each other anything. The last and only time we traveled was to go to Indiana for a funeral 5 yrs ago. This will be hard for you so good luck. Jennee

    • Abswitala

We had a getaway as a couple two years ago- and it was work related! We'd love to getaway together!

    • Lindsay

It has been 6 years since my husband and I have had a vacation from the children. We tend to do everything with our two children and we always have in our 11 years of marrige. We have had one vacation/anniversary weekend without our children and this would be a great gift. I am a full time Special Needs Teacher Assistant and a full time college student working towards my 4 year Teaching Lic. My husband is a Supervisor for a Window and Door Company, they travel most months of the year. He is only home on the weekends, having a weekend to relax is needed.

    • Marktars

We went on a trip to the NC mountains last September. It was a blast! We would love to do something like that again.

    • Lmwaton24

For our 5 year anniversary, two years ago we got away for two nights and then got our 1 year old from our parents to join us. Other than that, no extended time away. How wonderful it would be to get away…ahhhh.

    • guest

Our 40th anniversary is next week – Our last getaway was for our 35th and we got snowed in in Ashville! My husband would be so surprised if I could take him away!
      Thanks!

    • Itsafabulousday

We have a blended family and had a very small wedding and no honeymoon. Our 4 kids are a joy but our schedules are crazy. Time alone to just focus on each other in the amazing bed and breakfast would be a blessing.

    • Mnpkettle

My husband is a pastor of a small church and getting away on a weekend has been difficult. Our church is growing and now we have staff for help and this would be a perfect surprise for him to celebrate our 37th anniversary

    • Paige B

Since my son was born, 6 years ago, I have had 3 nights away from him. The last time my husband I left him was our anniversary in August 2009. This giveaway is the weekend of my birthday & I keep on telling my husband that Momma needs a night off. My mom lives a couple of blocks away from Emma's, so we could drop him off & have a weekend get away. This would be AWESOME! If I don't win, then the winner will have to go & wat at Panini Pete's in downtown Fairhpe for me! :)

    • Emily

I had a night away about 18 months ago, but a weekend away…that's been about 4 years now.

    • Candies2006mmc

It looks absolutely beautiful. I would love to go there. It,s been years since my husband and I have had a getaway for ourselves. Kids come first though. I would love to share this great experience with him. He is the love of my life, now we just need to go out and enjoy it a little more. The last time we went away was 5 years ago to Gatlingburg…loved it

    • Camiele

Last time I went away for a weekend was 2 years ago, when we went mining! It was so much fun!

    • sunset

Would love to go. It looks beautiful. This would be close to where we live. My husband and I haven't had a vacation by ourselves since our 5 year anniversary and that was a couple of years ago.

    • Gadawg2

Emma's Bay House looks gorgeous. We have never been to a bed and breakfast. My husband and I have been married for 23 years. We went on a cruise for our first anniversary, since then when we would go anywhere it would be with the my childrenas well. We have three wonderful children and I love going with them however, it might be nice to go on a date with my husband. Life goes by too fast. These past three years have been especially stressful for our family. My husband lost his job when the economy tanked. We have a daughter in college. We have another daughter that is a senior in high school this year. We had a 13 y.o son that had tumor removed from his leg in October. I had surgery in December. My husband found a job driving a school bus and thankfully my sons tumor turned out to be benign. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.Emma's Bay House looks like a wonderful place to getaway, relax and really count our blessings. We use to look thru lots of antique shops BC (before children). exploring the website looks like there are some near the B&B which would be kind of fun :)

    • Kelly

Never had a weekend. We had a one night getaway for our anniversary about 4 years ago.

    • Cjway

Our last vacation was in December of 2004 to Gatlinburge, TN. This was a family vacation for the joining together of our families. I have a daughter. My now husband with his four children. Just the seven of us on a family vacation to wed in a little chaple on the mountain side. We would love to have a weekend get-away. . . we didn't get to honeymoon. . . with the kids in the hotelroom.

    • PJ Ellis

my husband and I have not taken a getaway in 6 years. life seems to burden you down with things to do.

    • Creid000

I would very much like to go to this place. We have gone to a bed and breakfast but it has been years since I have gone. My husband and I very rarely get away by ourselves. I am not a very adventurous person but it would truely surprise my husband if we won this trip.

    • Sjmoore4

Wow this Bed and Breakfast looks wonderful! I can't tell you the last time my husband and I had a weekend for ourselves, without children or work responsibilities. Our vacation last summer ended early with an emergency trip home and a five night hospital stay for me. We both work in the school system, after beginning the school year my husband took a part time administrative position while continuing to teach the other part of the day. He also teaches a local Christian University and took two graduate level classes. Did I mention we sent our oldest son to college in August as well. It has been a whirlwind past 6 months and we really need some time to re-connect!

    • Rebecca

Would LOVE to have a weekend away!!!!! The last one was the end of Aug. for our July 1st anniversary! We got engaged on Valentines, so I always love to do something special for it each year! This would be great!!!

    • Marisha G

Our last time was our honeymoon, over 16 months ago. And I just found out I'm preggo, so it'd be nice to get a weekend getaway in before the baby comes! (:

    • Judycamp214

Emma's Bay House is beautiful ! My husband and I haven't had a weekend away for 5 or 6 years. My husband had a birthday January 11th, and my birthday is Valentine's Day. This would be a wonderful birthday getaway for us !

    • Marinka115

This is exciting!! My husband and I have been attacking our student loans so we could be 100% debt free for the last 2 years. So, that's probably the last time we had any kind of vacation! Would be awesome to get a little break!

    • Sully61

Last year had a weekend in charleston SC! Had a blast! Would love to get away to Alabama!

    • Jkersh12

It has been over a year!! It would be a blessing to have a kid free/ romantic weekend!!

    • Jennifer Jernigan

I love Fairhope,AL. I would love to get to stay in a B&B there. February 20th is our 12th wedding anniversary. We have one night away since our honeymoon. We have 3 beautiful children that always come first, but this trip would be so wonderful!! Some alone time with my honey!

    • Nanette Renegar

The last time that my husband and I had a getaway was about 6 years ago and it was a total disaster. I would love a romantic redo at a Bed and Breakfast. I'm sure my husband would be tickled as well. We don't get out for dates often and my husband's job situation consumes quite a bit of time. This would be a great time to rekindle and spend some time connecting. Thanks for your consideration. :)

    • AliF

Ahhhh…a weekend getaway. That would be so wonderful. I love my girls (4 years and 1 year), but it has been almost 6 years (since our honeymoon) that we have been away. My husband abd I are both teachers, and I could assure you that we would leave all school work behind for a weekend to be with each other…with us is where our family began. :o)

    • Rseaver3

The last time me and my husband had any time away was, 12 years ago before my first son was born. Now three boys later we still haven't found the time or the money to treat ourselves. This would be an amazing getaway!

    • Jessica R

wow this place is so nice. We haven't had a getaway just us that was not work or familiy related since June 2008. This be such a wonderful break for us. Thank you for the giveaway.

    • Tonya

This looks so nice! My husband and I haven't had a weekend away since before our baby was born…almost two years ago!! We moved in with family this summer after my husband lost his job, so we DESPERATELY need some alone time!!!

    • BSTS

Its been since Aug 2010. Sure, we've had to go for a wedding away (with family) and work weekends away but just for fun it's been since Aug. This last year has been sooo… busy. Our last son graduated from college and our other son got married in July. We both work retail and with all the Holidays we just haven't had time. We are getting ready to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary in Febuary

    • Wandagcurry

The last weekend away I had was last April for a Womens retreat with my church. I had an allergic reaction to some medicine I was taking and had to leave early and spent 3 days in the hospital. =( Before that, I can't remember my last weekend away!

    • cammy

It looks very niccee…my husband and I never even had a weekend getaway since we had our first baby…10 years ago….now we have 4 kids all blessings from God…we never had anyone around to watch for the kids, so we have done everything with the kids, and it turned out it was a blessing all the time.Love to see it live!!!

    • Randles

It has been 6 years, a set of twin girls, (two years later) a baby boy, since we have had a night away!

    • Williamson_leigh

I would love to visit this bed and breakfast! My husband and I have never stayed at a b&b. We haven't had a weekend away since last year on our anniversary.

    • Nikkers

This place looks so amazing! It has been a few years since we have had some time alone. A year and a half ago we moved from the midwest to the south. We no longer have any family close by. We have been talking about a weekend away, this would be an amazing opportunity.

    • Owen

It looks amazing! My husband and I haven't been anywhere since our honeymoon 10 1/2 years ago. We didn't even get to celebrate our 10 year anniversary as he was recovering from a spinal fusion surgery!

    • scrapper bb

We have had a long wonderful marriage of 44 years in a few weeks. After 29 years in the Air Force, we moved back to Alabama to help elderly parents. My parents were from the Mobile area which would make Emma's a beautiful location to celebrate our anniversary.

    • debra

      hmm – maybe 1.5 yrs ago – I have a 7 mo baby

    • Noelle

My husband and I went for a weekend away just before my first daughter was born, she's two now and we have another on the way.. This getaway would be similar since I am due in April.. =)

    • Erin

My husband and I haven't gotten away since before our twins were born 2 1/2 yrs ago!!! We would love it!!!

    • Tnjcent

Last weekend getaway I can't remember. Married 33 yrs this past Sept. My husband is self employed and can't seem to get away on saturdays. Never know whether he will work. That's how our life has been. I am thankful, though. I have a job! His work has slowed down immensley for the past 6 months. It seems his business debt has been piling up and he is trying to protect me fro this. I know in my heart we will get through this….been married a long time and have undergone many changes. Who ever wins this week end get away needs to be thankful about their circumstance and realize that winning this trip is a sign that more good things will come their way this coming year…Good Luck, everyone!

    • Kwdunn

SInce my husband is a pastor & we live in a town where neither of our families live, it has been 2 years ago when the sweetest gift was given to us! Would love this since we already live in AL!!!

    • christy

My husband and I will be married 24yrs in february. We have not gone anywhere alone since our son was born 9years ago. This would be soooo nice!

    • homeschoolmom

This place sounds amazing and just the break my husband and I need. We currently are caring for his aging mom in our home and my brother has been battling cancer for the last year and a half. It hasn't been possible to get any time away for just the two of us in about 2 years.

    • Srpatton73

I have NEVER stayed at B&B before and I so want to. Thank you for what you do for us.

    • Southern Belle

Well, we've been married 6 years and we have a 3 year old. I have left her once, but it was with my husband. We have been searching for a fun place to stay and take off for a weekend and leave her with family. We are just finishing up a Ph.D. and are ready for a relaxing, kid free vacation. This would be a perfect surprise for my husband.

This would be totally awesome! Our 12th anniversay is on January 30th. My husband just said to me the other day something along the lines of ” are you gonna plan something for our anniversary this year”…the only reason he said that is ..he usually always plans things for us! We did get to go “away” last year. It was a 30 min trip up the road to spend the night but was nice. We havent had a night for ourselves in a long time. We have 4 children and he is a bi-vocational Pastor. Would be nice to win! I would love to supprise him!

    • ougirl822

My husband and I have been married for about a year and a half and are getting ready to have our second child. Winning this amazing trip to this beautiful B&B would be a great “babymoon” before we welcome him into the world.

    • lyssibee

Sounds absolutely wonderful. The views and rooms are a perfect romantic getaway!
I would love to surprise my husband as we have not had a weekend away since before our boys (4 and 6) were born. Even if I don't win, I may have to consider making a reservation for our anniversary!

    • Cassie

This place looks beautiful. My husband and iIhave never been away. This would be a nice surprise.

    • jennifer

My husband is the father of my beautiful child, my best friend and my business partner. Being that we are parents and own a business together, in 8 years the two of us have never had a getaway ALONE togehter. Wether it is our children or our company something always keeps us away. This looks like an AMAZING get away!

    • Lrh

Oh, my 49th birthday is on the 26th and my husband and I SO need a getaway. He is working 6 hours away right now. That area is one of our favorites! He is planning on flying in that weekend and could probably fly into Mobile or Montgomery, can't remember how many years since we had a weekend with just the two of us!

    • Laduegang

The last time we have been away is for our anniversary last June.

    • kodynicole

The love of my life and I went straight from graduating high school and our parents house to starting our new life with marriage and a baby on the way. That doesn't seem that long ago but baby number 2 and 5 years later here we are :) We have been very blessed in our life and I have been very lucky to have my high school sweetheart be the man of my dreams. We would be very excited to have a beautiful weekend getaway since we have never had one since we have been married. All of our trips include the whole family! Emmas Bay looks wonderful and and a B&B WOW! that would be awesome to experience!!!

    • campgirl1205

I would be very happy to visit this B&B. My husband and I have been married for seven years and never leave our two kids to spend any time alone together. I would also use the time their to visit with my friend and her 3 kids, who just lost her husband to cancer, it has been really hard on all of them. This would really mean a lot to me.

    • Melanie

What a beautiful B&B! My husband and I try to get away together once or twice a year, but life has been busy and we haven't been able to get away for about a year. Fairhope is just the loveliest little town – I'm excited for whoever wins!

    • Melia

In August, my husband took me for a weekend away for my birthday and that has been our only weekend away in our 4 1/2 years away. We are expecting baby number two and I was just telling him that we needed to find an inexpensive weekend getaway before he/she comes. I went to a wedding at Emma's Bay House several years ago and loved the place. I have wanted to go ever since.

    • Aimee

We would love the getaway!! We have a 9 month old, so any time away just the two of us is very special. Fingers crossed!!

    • shelley

What a beautiful home. We have never stayed in a bed and breakfast and this would be a great treat. The last time my husband and I went away alone was probably when I was pregnant with my second son, six years ago. We would love a mini vacation. Thank you.

    • Blinzi

I took a look around the website and the B&B looks amazing maybe one of these days I can talk my husband to taking some time off work and us going somewhere for a weekend getaway though there can be no chance of just the two of us taking off, as we have no family to take care of our 2 young boys and anyway I think we have more fun together anyway. As for our last weekend getaway, it was in oct 2005(before our first son's birth) and after that my husband got a new job involving a lot of travel time away from home, so whenever he was home… well we stayed at home. Though it would be fantastic for the boys and I to have a mini vacation away from home too. Tanks for the fantastic giveaway. Good Luck to all and God Bless.

    • 05jacksmom

Oh wow! This would be fun! The last time we had a weekend away was in October, but it was a business meeting for my husband and I am not sure that counts! We would love to go there!

    • Melinda

Too long!!!! We've been watching our grandaughter every weekend so our son can work. Love to keep her because she is our only grandchild, but you need time away once in awhile.

    • Rclay18

Beautiful! The last time my husband and I got away was one year ago for his work. We haven't been away by ourselves just to get away in 5 years. We have 3 children age 2 – 9 so I would love to win this!

    • Jessica

It is been since before we had a kiddo…2 years ago:)

    • Lbray

My husband and I haven't been on a weekend getaway since we got married in July 2009.

    • ljbtrfly

Wow how long has it been since we been away together? We haven't been away together since our 4th anniversary which was 2 yrs ago. This pictures are gorgeous.

    • lila

What a beautiful place! We have 15 month old twin daughters and have not had a weekend away since before they were born. I have relatives near fairhope that would love to keep the kids!

    • Michele

I have been happily married for the last 5 1/2 yrs. Our family grew about 9 months after our wedding and we now have two beautiful little girls. Seems like we have not slowed down since. My husband is a firefighter and paramedic. He works 24 hrs shifts and worked some 72 hr shifts during the BP cleanup. I would love for him and I to be able to get away and just relax and enjoy each other for a weeeken

    • L. Whitt

We got away last July for my husband's 40th. Our 10th anniversary is coming up soon and this would be WONDERFUL. We live in Alabama, so a short getaway from the 3 little ones would be divine! :)

    • Sherryf2

Me and my husband haven't had a getaway for the weekend in almost 19 years !

    • Sharonnp03

That place looks amazing!! My husband and I have been married for 7 months and never got to “get away” because we have three teenage daughters. What a beautiful respite that would be….

    • Zcrymom

We've been married 11 years and have never had a weekend away alone.(not complaining, we love our kids) We used to live in Daphne, AL(one city away from Fairhope) and we miss it terribly. It's such a quaint little place!

    • Barker Tina

WOW! We haven't had a weekend away ALONE in almost a year!

    • APigford

My husband and I had our last weekend getaway back in June. We recently moved to Alabama and would love to explore Mobile Bay!

    • Caring kids far away

After 44 years of marriage, 3 kids, 8 grandchildren, a heart attack, an brain aneurism, prostate cancer and with my father-in-law's parents living with them, my husbands parents desperately need a weekend getaway! They live only 2 1/2 hours away from Emma's and can certainly find the time to enjoy some much needed down time. Please send them away from reality for 2 nights in beautiful Fairhope!

    • Christine

Wow would love a weekend away, it's been a LONG time since one without family.
      Christine

    • Courtney

My husband and I had a weekend getaway back at the beginning of October. It was in Chattanooga since we had a wedding to go to. The Bed and Breakfast looks beautiful!!! And husband has been itching to go to a Bed and Breakfast. Thanks for the opportunity! =)

    • Noahnkyliesmom

My husband and I have been married 16 1/2 years and have two beautiful children. Our standing joke is we have an “annual date” when we go out to dinner sometime during the year. We are blessed with two beautiful children, one of which has medical special needs. Due to our family situation, we find it difficult to justify going away just the two of us and make any special outings include all four of us. The bed and breakfast looks amazing and it would be a wonderful surprise “two of us” weekend for my husband and I that I can guarantee he wouldn't expect.

    • Cindy Cork

My husband and I have our 30th anniversary coming up in June. Wow! 30 years! We have been away on a few trips but with 3 daughters who were actively playing either high school softball or college softball, so those are what our away trips consisted of, but if we had it to do over, I would do the same thing. Cant ever get back those moments with your children while they are growing up. Now we are “childless” -none at home, its Daddy and Momma time!!! Live in North Alabama and Mobile is a short trip. The place looks Awesome!!

    • Staceface81

It must have been a long time because I can't even remember! LOL :-)

    • Cmprincess82

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend away last Valentine's Day. We had a baby the year before and didn't get away at all that year. We got pregnant again, my husband changed jobs, we had to move, I lost my job, and then we had the baby. It's been a crazy year and I would love to get away, just for my husband to have personal time with me.He works so hard so I can stay home with our children.

    • Susan

We have been married 21 years and have had 3 get away trips since our daughter (11) was born. As much as I'd love the trip, there are a lot more deserving couples posted below. Good luck!

    • Sarah R

Our last weekend away was in 2006. Looking forward to a chance to win one! Thanks for having a great giveaway!

    • Heather

My husband and I have never had a weekend getaway alone w/o our little ones in our almost 6 years of marriage!

    • JMS

The last time my husband and I had a weekend away was in October of 2008. He had just returned from Iraq the month before and got to meet our 3rd child who was born while he was in Iraq. Since then we have been busy, busy living life. A weekend away alone would be great…

    • Jennifer

We have not had a getaway trip since before we were parents. My oldest is 3 1/2 years old. It's long overdue!

    • AmandaNelson

My husband and I have been married for 5 1/2 years we have not been able to get away since our honeymoon. We've made plans to do it but for one reason or another have not managed to do it. This would be such a blessing!

    • Linsey

I would love to win this giveway for my parents for all they continue to do to help me and my family. From babysitting to help us with repairs to our first home they truly are the BEST! As a child I can count on one hand the number of times I ever had a sitter . My parent never take time for fun they are always doing something for one of the 3 of us still. I would love to surprize them with something to say thanks . What a perfect way to spend a 30th anniversary!

My last trip was with hubby on our baby moon 4 years ago :)

    • Madbeachin1

I'm 26 years old and am very happily married to my husband of 8 years. In the beginning we made a point to go away often. The our babies cam along and they came quick. Our third is alt 11 months and I just asked my husband “Babe, when was the last time we got away for the weekend?” and He said, “Ummm, probably about 5 years.” So not as long as some of these other readers but it sure would be nice!
      Thanks for the opportunity.
      God Bless!

    • Kimmers_zoo

WOW! We are within a reasonable drive. We have 6 wonderful kids and have not had a get away in years ….. my husband lost his company and so we have had to be very tight for several years to get back on our feet. Would love to treat my hubby (and best friend) to a relaxing get-away! He does so much to care and provide for us!

    • Amythorpe

I would love to getaway! The last time we had a weekend away was in July 2005, when our 1st son was 6 months old! Now, 3 kids later, we haven't had a getaway weekend since then! This will be a great blessing for whoever wins!!

    • Vgilham

The last getaway we had was 4 years ago. With two small ones, we always put them first. This would be an awesome getaway fro whomever wins it. Thanks for the chance.

    • Eric Velleux

The last weekend we had together was a weekend at the beach (one year ago) which ended up being a day alone and then a day with the kids (how sad). Our last real one was actually just two months before that, at the beach and it was nice.

    • Kim

It's been several years since we've had a chance to get away. we'd love to have a week-end!

    • Juliagoldieday

We had one night away for our anniversary last fall. Its hard to stay away too much… we love our kids and bed and breakfasts/hotels are pricey!

    • we4walls

The last getaway we had was our honeymoon 5 1/2 years ago! We would love to win this!

    • Zimmge20

What an awesome giveaway! We have not gotten away since 1998..so I would LOVE to win.

    • christine

it's been years since my husband and i were alone somewhere without the kids!! we have 5 yr old twins and we bring them with us whenever we go somewhere!

    • West Eliz

Oh my, I can't remember! My oldest daughter is 14 so it must have been 14 years ago! This would be an AWESOME weekend!!

    • Jessica Townson

My husband and I have a 10 month old daughter and its been since before I was pregnant!

    • Em

My hubby and I could REALLY use this weekend getaway. He's been without a full time job right at two years. He works two part time jobs. I have been working 10+ hours a week in a very stressfull job! I would LOVE to be able to give him something special while relaxing myself. Thanks,

    • CntrySccerChk

When we found out that we were pregnant with out now three month old son we were very excited. But, he was born with a birth defect of club feet. He's already had 20,000 dollars worth of work done in his little life. Every week it's driving to Columbia to see the orthopaedics office. It's hard on our marriage and we need the reconnecting time to just get away. This would be nice to have an OUR time together and rekindle our love.

    • Jessica

The last time we were at a romantic bed and breakfast was on our honeymoon 20 yrs. ago. Our 20th anniversary is this year, yaaa!! We did get away for a nice quick night last year, courtesy of my wonderful mother in law watching our 4 children.

    • 3John Verse4

This Thur (20th) my husband & I will celebrate 15 yrs of marriage. It has literally been years since just the two of us got away without our four daughters. I would LOVE a date weekend w/ my sweet hubby!

    • Denise

My hubby and I had a getaway a couple years ago. Thanks for the chance to win another one!

    • frugaltwinmom

That is beautiful! My last getaway with my hubby was Valentine's Day 2006. We went to the Inn at Fall Creek Falls park in Tennessee (about 2 hours from our home). We love our kiddos (daughter-14 and twin sons-4), but we would love to get away for a couple of days!

    • Monica Baker

My husband and I had a “night away” almost 13 months ago. However, it was because he was attending a conference and I got to go too. The last time before that was probably 2-3 years ago. My husband will be gone for Valentine's Day as he is leading a mission trip to Guatemala that week. January would be perfect for us!

    • Lisauf

Our last getaway was last year to HHI. What a treat! And it helped me be a better mom when we got home!

    • Margaret Edwards

Since we were married 3 years ago, we have not had a weekend away. We never had a chance to take a honeymoon. My best guess is at least 3 1/2 years if not more!

    • Rebecca

Last October…we generally try to do something about once a year.

    • KRI29

What a gorgeous place! My last getaway with my DH was in 2007 when we went to Costa Rica. During the last 8 months we have been seperated because he is Active Duty military in Charleston, SC and I am with my daughter Fiona who is undergoing a bone marrow transplant. It has been one difficult year! Fiona is now 16 months old and 82 days after transplant she is doing marvelous! Would love to get away with the hubby!

    • Andrea

We were married almost 17 years ago and dated for 8 before that, high school sweethearts. We had our first daughter 1 year later and other than a weekend trip to biloxi MS early in our first few years we have never had a weekend getaway with out our two children.

    • Ss148

we haven't had a weekend away for at least three years! This place sounds awesome!

    • Elizabeth

It has been several years since we were able to go on a getaway. The 6 kids and their activities keep us busy.

    • Miserlymaryann

It has been 5 1/2 years since our last weekend getaway………….would truly enjoy this!

    • Joanne Moore

I can't even remember the last time my husband and I have been away for a weekend–just to two of us. We graduated from high school the last of our six children two years ago. My husband had a serious health issue before that, and I had a stroke. As we were recovering, we had to make a move to another state. Now we are taking care of his 90 year old mother!! A weekend away to such a fabulous place would be a gift from heaven!!

    • Heatherashleydz

A couple of months, I think.

    • Robyn

We have not had a weekend getaway by ourselves in almost 3 years. I'm originally from Fairhope and love to go back there when were able. Plus, the grandparents still live there so the free babysitting is a bonus!

    • Marilyn

It has been two or three years since we have gotten away.

    • Juli

The last weekend my husband and I spent away was last summer in the mountains. This may sound idyllic but we were tent camping! It would be an incredible blessing to have a luxury weekend getaway at Emma's Bay House Bed & Breakfast in Fairhope, Alabama!

    • Penny

I have a 7 month old baby girl and have not had anytime away with my hubby since I got pregnant! This would be wonderful! What a beautiful house!

    • Jessica Holmes

I am a graduate student so I haven't had a getaway in years! Weekend is for homework or I have no money!

    • Autrese

I just finished looking at the website for the bed and breakfast….while i was looking at it i kept thinking about my parents! They are the ones that deserve a weekend getaway! Last year my mom (with a lot of my dad’s helped and the rest of the family) opened an italian ice shop! She opened this shop in memory of her mother. Our little dessert shop in Montgomery, AL has been so much fun! We have meet a lot of neat families that have been such a encouragement to our family on this new adventure! Around the same time of Valentine’s we will be celebrating our one year anniversary! I just think that my parent’s deserve a little time away…my sister and I can handle the shop! What a WONDERFUL treat this would be for them!

    • Mrs. Peacock

Our last weekend getaway was on a mini-moon as we called it. We got married on a Saturday and due to our jobs we were not able to take much time off work. So we spent 2 nights away and then it was back to work for us. We keep saying that we will take a real honeymoon one day but almost a year later we have yet to take that real getaway moment for ourselves. A trip to such an amazing place would be an answered prayer to us.

    • Kristin G.

Our Last weekend away was October 2008, just before we found out we were pregnant with our third child.

    • Jen

Would love to get a break away. I am 6 months pregnant so this would be our babymoon!

    • Andreza Dejesus

It has been 9 years since my husband and I had a getaway.

    • jj

      It's been a year.

    • Muffinstuff1

The last time my husband and I got away for some alone time was our 25th Anniversary – our kids went in together for a B&B weekend in GA). This summer we will be celebrating our 36th Anniversary, so it has been a while! This would be spectacular since it is driving distance from our home in Trussville, AL and in a great part of our lovely state!

    • Thejardims

5 years ago after surgery, a bowel leak and almost losing my life everything has changed.Except my wonderful husband that has stood by me through the worst. We will be married 40 yrs on Valentines day and we do not vacation like we did before my surgeries, I do not expect to win this weekend at this beautiful bed and breakfast..my win will be my daughter reading this and knowing it is her father and mother who love eachother and work through the bad times as well as the good!

    • Christihbrownlow

The last time my sweetheart and I had a getaway for ourselves was last year, about this same time, just before the birth of our 2nd son, Isaac. He is now almost 11 months old, and between him and our 2 year old, and both of us working full time, we have barely had time to breath. We had actually planned to do a little weekend away that very weekend…nothing special, but going to stay at my parent's vacation home. for two nights. (I turn 30 in a few weeks, so it would also be to celebrate that)….but HOW AWESOME would it be to get away to this beautiful B & B? I would be honored to be chosen, although I'm sure there a ton of others who are just as deserving!

    • Acarlson11

I have a five year old and a 9 month old… My husband works full time (traveling for a few days each week) and also is in school full-time getting his MBA. We haven't had a kid-free weekend away since before our 5 year old was born. This looks like a fabulous get away!!

    • Morgan Mom

My last getaway with my husband was almost 4 years ago. Finding the money for the trip just hasn't been possible between my husband being laid off from work and paying the bills. I've been dying for a “just us” getaway! Please, please pick us!

    • Mistylynn11581

We have a 9 month old daughter. We haven't been away since I was pregnant with her. I think it is about time!!

    • EBE76

We haven't had a vacation since our “honeymoon” in Dec 2003. As far as a weekend away from home- going to visit my Mom 4 hrs away is as good as it gets. We did make an overnight trip to WV in Oct 2010.

    • Renee

We haven't been away together since our anniversary back in May-before that it was about 2 years! This would be such a blessing to our marriage. We live in Alabama and could easily get away that weekend. Thank you for providing this opportunity! This place is breathtaking!

    • Me and my husband have not had a weekend away together since before my 3 year old son was born! We would love to spend the weekend at this beautiful B&B! Thanks!

    • justoleme

Jan 19th is my 26th anniversary. Having 4 children and foster children, there hasn't been much alone time let alone any weekend getaways over the years. Would love to go to this beautiful bed and breakfast now that we have just 2 kids at home.

    • Tconnor

My husband & I have not been gotten away together since our honeymoon 8 years ago. We did go to visit & stay with his family at the bay twice during our first 3 years of marriage before our son was born. Since our son was born 5 years ago we have never left him to go out of town. We have taken him on a couple of trips and have only been away 1 time since our daughter was born 18 months ago. We are so needing a vacation together without the children. This would be such an amazing win! And what better time as my husband's birthday is the 20th of this month. Keeping my fingers crossed!

    • love2save

It has been several years since my husband and I had a weekend away. This looks like a wonderful place

    • Anna

What a great giveaway!! I think our last weekend away (sans kids, of course) was July 2009… I can't really remember, but I'm sure it was before I got pregnant with our twin boys!

    • Aulerich1

My husband and I spent a weekend in Nashville 3 years ago. March 3 will be our 10 year anniversary and this would be an awsome way to celebrate!

    • Melissa blaylock

we haven't been away alone together since we got married 4 years ago. Feb 10th is our 4 year wedding anniversary! We have 3 kids now but never enough money to do something this nice for ourselves! I would/could only dream of this get away!

    • Shelly Donahoe

We have not had a weekend away in over a year. We would love to win this.

    • Mcollins5

Before we had kids (7 years ago)!

    • Beth

Almost 2 years ago before we had our second child, we were able to get away for a week. It's time to go again!

    • Faith

Last time we had a weekend away was June, 2005. Emma's looks like a great place to visit!

    • CarrieCoble

It has been over 2 years since we've had a get a way and we're in need on one now :)

    • Mommyking

I honestly don't remember. My birthday is the 20th and we are having baby number 3 in 6 weeks, so a weekend getaway would be amazing.

    • Wombatjo

Our last romantic weekend away was 4 years ago, before the birth of our first child. :)

    • Gdake10

Since my husband and I have been keeping our granddaughter, we have not had
a get away for the last 4 years. We are no longer tied down, and would
love to come and visit your beautiful B&B. ….Plus by birthday is Jan.30th!
      Please, oh please choose us!

    • Rebecca

The last weekend getaway we took was about 2 years ago. We would love to visit Mobile. This bed and breakfast looks like the way to go!

    • Sholmes

We use to live in Mobile and now live in B'ham. We have not been down to Fairhope in over 16 years! The last time we had a weekend away was about a year ago. Alabama truly is a great place to vacation..between the coastline and the variety of mountains of northeast Alabama…you can't go wrong!

    • yhlawanda

The last time we went to a Bed and Breakfast was on our honeymoon in 1999! My birthday is the 28th and with 3 boys this would be a fabulous get away for us!

    • bargain mom

The last time my husband and I got away was 3 1/2 years ago. We have an almost 4 year old and 8 month old. In this one year we have had health challenges with our baby which God has carried us through. We are however still paying for the health bills, therefore a getaway for us in not in the future budget. The house is stunning!

    • Deannaparrish1

My husband and I haven't been on vacation together in almost 3 years. After we got married we put all our money toward getting out of student loan debt. The month we made our last payment we found out we were pregnant. We now have a beautiful 9 month old baby girl. My husband worked 3 jobs to make ends meet in order for me to stay at home to raise our daughter. Last month he received a promotion at work that allowed him to quit 1 of his jobs. Although we are in need of a new car my husband called me last week from work and said he wanted to take a small vacation with me because he refused to put a the “need” for a car ahead of the need for quality time for “us.” I thought this was the sweetest thing ever and I hope we can make this happen.

    • Darlene A.

The last time I went anywhere was about 3 years ago. I had a conference to attend, and went to Gulf Shores a day early to have a mini vacation, then went on to Mobile to my conference. Would be fun to win.

    • Aliciaglassford

We haven't had a weekend away in a very long time….It's been so long I can't even remember. We would love a weekend away. My husband and I have been loving and taking care of our beautiful 8 month old son and haven't even had a chance for a date night. We love the gulf and haven't been able to splurge due to losing hours at work. Please pick us! We would be so grateful.

    • Amorgj

I LOVE getting away with my husband! It has been 6 months since our last getaway.

    • Karenwooda1

Emma's Bay House looks so lovely, the perfect place for a couple to relax! It has been such a long time since we have had a weekend away, just the two of us. We will be celebrating our 32nd anniversary this year. This would be a dream come true, as we have always wanted to visit Mobile! Such a wonderful gift! Thanks for making this available to some lucky couple!

    • Carak Bedo

The last time my husband and I got away was WITH our nursing 5-month-old son. Imagine how relaxing and romantic that was! Now it's a year later and I'm realizing in the almost 5 years we've been married we've never celebrated an anniversary or V-Day because I've been having morning sickness with a pregnancy or nursing one of our little ones! They're worth every second to be sure, but just a second or two without them works too!

    • Lkwieberg

My husband and I have not had a 'get away' since we were married, 6.5 years ago. After difficulty concieving, we spent almost $20,000, so money was tight, and twins dont make it easier!! Now, here we are, 4 kids later, and struggle for money to get away and sitters for 4 kids!! :-)

    • WTPBEAR20

This would be a great weekend away for my husband and I before having baby #3.

    • lisa G.S.

Gorgeous!!!! Ive never been to that area. I have a 3yr old, a 2 yr old, and an 8month old. My husband and I have not been on a get-away-weekend since our honeymoon in 2005.

    • Megtag

My hubby decided to go back to school last year, and has to stay away from home during the week. He is only home on the weekends, but works all weekend. Needless to say we haven't had a weekend away in over a year! This trip would be amazing for us! Thanks you so much for your consideration :)

    • Lauralou0802

Have not had a weekend away since our daugher was born two years ago. This place looks beautiful and we live in alabama, so we would love to visit!

    • Michelle

We haven't had a weekend away by ourselves since before our first child was born in 2002 (our kids are 2, 4, 6, and 8). Our 13th anniversary will be January 31, so the weekend before it would be such an awesome time to get away!!

    • Geethatsgr8

Wow…I came on here wanting to win a great getaway for me and my husband, as the last time we had a real “getaway” was our honeymoon in April of 2006. Now, two kids later, as I desperately cling to my sanity, I ache for time away. We don't have family nearby, so we've only had about 4 “date nights” since our children came along (2007 and 2009), much less any kind of weekend away. However, after reading some of these posts, I have a feeling that even if I WERE to win this package, I'd end up giving it to one of these other poor folks. I guess all I needed was a little perspective. I'm not saying I wouldn't love a weekend away, but apparently there are people needing it MUCH more than I do!

    • JoAnneB

Emma's Bay House is beautiful. It has been quite awhile since my husband and I have had a get away by ourselves. October will be out 31st Anniversary. We would love to spend it at Emma's Bay House. Thanks! What a generous giveaway.

    • Katie

My husband and I haven't been away by ourselves since before we were married. We've been wanting to go on some sort of “honeymoon,” but every chance that we get we end up going on a family trip with our four children. We have loads of fun, but some romance would be nice. Very nice! Our last trip together without children was to TN in 2006 for my birthday for a weekend.

    • HomeschoolingCouponingMom

My hubby and I haven't really had many weekend getaways. We've been married for 7 years and have 2 children. We weren't financially able to go on a honeymoon after our wedding. We tried to get away for the weekend about a year later (2005) after our first baby was born, but ended up running into some really bad weather (as in, tornadoes….not a good time..lol). We homeschool, so our “weekend getaways” have consisted of going to homeschool conferences for the past 2 years. Love attending those, but would really love to get away to a bed and breakfast. That's something my husband and I have always talked about doing. The house is gorgeous, so we would really enjoy a weekend there!

    • Rjones

I have an employee who is in the middle of a nasty divorce. She has been with me for a little over a year now and has never taken a vacation. She always put her husband and her kids first. She has two beutiful children, and is an extremely dedicated employee. She is like family and I think she deserves to be rewarded for the beutiful person she is.

    • Paulette

My husband and I haven't been away since our honeymoon two and half years ago! We sadly have canceled two getaways due to one reason or another. We would LOVE to win! Thank you!

    • Debbie

It has been a year since we got away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We will be married 25 years on March 1st – this would be a wonderful get-a-way for a quarter century marriage!

    • Stephaniedarnell

Wow! We have been married 7 years and since our sweet little one came along, romantic getaways have been put on the back burner…IN FACT :( our last vacation (and vacation budget) was spent staying at home in the Florida heat with our A/C in and out of repair with the final bill closing in at $3500. A weekend away would be a dream come true!!!!! (Pick meeeee – Pick Meeeeeeeee! Please!!!)

    • KelliB

Our last weekend away was in October for our 8th anniversary! We went to DC.

    • JLPBowen

My dh & I have not had a weekend away since our youngest was born four years ago. We rarely go out unless it's a family event. DH works a lot & I'm a SAHM mom so the time away would be welcomed so we could focus on each other for a day or two. We've never been to Emma's Bay House & it looks like a beautiful place to visit!

    • Amanda Nicholson

The last time my husband and I had a weekend getaway was December 2007. WE went to gatlinburg TN to see the Christmas parade and HE PROPOSED! That March ( 4th exact) we found out we were pregnant!

    • AJB

It has been almost 2 years now. We adopted 2 kids in the past 13 months, and have been “chained” to our home since! (Well, chained in a good way – they needed to transition and all.) But, we are LONG overdo for some time to be together. Would love to win this!

    • tera

The last time was so long ago i couldnt say… we are on our 13th year of marriage…we have 3 children and would love to slip away for a bit.. thanks for posting this great idea for marriages….

    • betscam

Emma's Bay House looks so inviting! We may have to look into a little getaway there sometime even if we don't win!! It's been well over a year since the hubby and I sneaked away from the kids and that was just a short one night overnight stay at a local motel for some quick r&r.

    • april

It has been about a year since we have had a weekend getaway. Need another!

    • Jdismukes82

Since our honeymoon 3 years ago! With baby #2 on the way…this is desperately needed!!

    • Huntercoupons

It has been a year and half since the last time we went away for a weekend just the two of us. Since then we have had a baby, gone from 2 incomes to 1 and are planning for many other changes in the new year. We would LOVE to have a weekend away…it is hard being new parents! And it will also be the weekend of my Birthday. Boy, oh boy would that be special!!

    • Kvelleux

It's been 2 babies, 1 sick dad, and one adopted sick nana ago since our last vacation (5 years in normal human speak), we're in Mobile and have been dying for a giveaway to the bay for ages AND this is for the weekend of my 30th birthday. I can't imagine a better giveaway to win!!!! Thank you soooo much for this awesome giveaway!

    • Lroyal25

It has been at least a year since we have had a “getaway”, and WOW would we love this to be our next one!

    • AC

We've been married going on 14 years now…it's been over 2 years since we had a gettaway. We used to go to a b&b every year on our anniversary and were finally getting around to do it this year when my father passed away…and the last time we traveled, just us two, we combined a business trip with a gettaway and I was working all 3 days so we really didn't have time to enjoy each other's company nor did I get to see the city. We need this!

    • Molliehayes

We have not been on a getaway since our son was born almost 2 years ago. Now we're expecting baby #2, so we're desperate for a getaway!!!

    • Rdts60

We have been married 40 years. We were in the habit of taking a long weekend away at least once a year after the kids left home, but now seems like all our weekends away are spent with the kids and grandchildren in GA or IL. It would be great for just the two of us to get away again. We are both originally from northeast Alabama but have never been south to Fairhope.

    • Lakebound1

It has been years (at least 5) since we've had a weekend away without kids.

    • Twilson242

My husband and I haven't been away by ourselves since before we were married. After twelve years of marriage, his father was dianosed with colon cancer and my mother has been dianosed with breast cancer for the second time. We've been wanting to go on some sort of “honeymoon,” but every chance that we get we have been taking care of our parents or running our son around. I not complaining but a little us time would be great.

    • Peggy

Wow, what a way to celebrate my recent retirement after 33 years of teaching middle schoolers. Thanks for the opportunity!

    • Bmcutshall

We've been married for almost 13 years, and we often go for a weekend each year on our anniversary. I have been in nursing school for the past year, and will continue to be until 2012, so we have sacrificed that weekend getaway among many other things. This would be a wonderful treat! Thanks for the opportunity.

    • The last time we were alone without our son was May of 2010. We went on a cruise, but it was with a large group, so it wasn't too private. We've got a lot going on right now and this would be awesome as it's away, but still so close to home!

    • Nicole H

It has been right at 2 years since my husband and I have had a weekend away! We could really use it!

    • Mindy

We've been married for 7 years yesterday, and the last time we've gotten away by ourselves was our honeymoon! We have 3 children – 6, 3, and 2 on the 29th. Family vacations seem to take precedence even though I know we need to make time for “us”! I would love to be able to drop my kids off at my mom's for the weekend and go have a late anniversary trip!

    • MWalters

My husband and I got married on November 14, 2009. Three months later in February,
(surprise!) we found out I was pregnant. What a shock, but a blessing! With the impending arrival of our baby girl, we packed up our lives in Washington, DC and moved south to Birmingham in August. We moved into our house in September and had our baby in October. We spent our first Anniversary with our precious little girl. It was wonderful, but we are craving a romantic getaway for just the two of us. We need to celebrate our relationship as husband and wife after a very busy first year of marriage!

    • michele

After 38 years of marriage, five daughters, five grandchildren and a retired
husband, a weekend getaway sounds like a dream come true!

    • Cdl1120z

My husband and I haven't had a getaway since Feb 2007. Our son was born 9 months later!! :) We are hoping to have one this year. My husband works night shift 6PM to 6AM and I work 2nd shift. If we are lucky we get to see each other 2 days a month. He is already asleep by the time I get up. When I leave for work he is still asleep. I think this would be a great way for us to spend some quality time together. I really miss him. :( I'm sure my 3 year old would love a weekend at grandads.

    • Annajo_bebe

I have been Married for 10 years this year and every time we go on a weekend or a vacation we Me and my Husband always have tag along's On our Honeymoon his parents and brother joined us because they are from Paris so we wanted to bring them and well the rest of our time has always been with Children so WE NEED A WEEKEND TOGETHER just the TWO of us so pick me for the getaway

    • Bmeares

My husband and I celebrated our 12th anniversary this past December. We were older when we married and then were blessed with girl/boy twins!! We cherish this blessing, but have not had time away together since our brief honeymoon in 1999. We would love to rediscover the wonderful traits in each other that we fell in love with. We have family in Atlanta that could help with the twins and could make a weekend on the Alabama gulf coast work!

    • Sbcouponcole

Last time we took a weekend away was 15 months ago

    • Hydentist

Thank you for sharing this weekend getaway! This is the weekend of my birthday and it would be great to win something this great. We have a son in college and one in high school and I don't remember the last time my husband and I have had a getaway! Thanks for the opportunity!

    • Melissa

I do not remember that last time my husband and I went away. It seems like because of circumstances beyond our control-being laid off, step-son moving to NY, lawyer fees for visitation, a new (6 month old) baby, ect. With the way it looks we prob will not be going anywhere soon unless we won something like this!! That would be great because teachers' salaries are not very big!!

    • Sheri_sessions

The last time we had a weekend away was almost a year ago. It was wonderful and we want to go again!! ;-)

    • Lydia Rust

FIVE LOOOOOOOOONG YEARS! ! ! ! ! And yes, like most of the other entrants, we have young kids. Four of them. A weekend away would be nice. But if not, we'll just stay home and lock the kids out of our room for a few hours. :)

    • Janelle

My hubby and I would love a getaway! We went away last month but that was the first time in five years. We got married and had three kids (within four years) and have only had one night away in five years!!! We are trying to go to a marriage conference in Feb to help revive our marriage bc we haven't had much time as a couple, which is what many families go through that have young children close in age. I would feel blessed to experience this quaint B&B!

    • Sweetk3346

It's been four years since Scott & I have gone anywhere alone. We would love to win this trip!!! We could use a break from our mundane lives.

    • JMH

We don't get away much on weekends because we won't miss it if our children are involved in a sport and we would have to miss their game – they're more important right now. However, they're not doing anything at this moment, but it won't be long! We went away – hmmm… used a friend's personal condo in FL for our anniversary last year – trying to conserve $$$! We didn't get a real honeymoon 2.5 years ago when we married either (due to a serious incident causing me having to be in court with my ex the week following). My husband is a JEWEL and deserves this for all he does for me and my two young boys!

    • Audry

i can't remember the last time we've gotten away, like a for real get away, not me just tagging along for an out of town work meeting & crashing andrew's hotel stay. lol. no, seriously-we're married w/ children. we don't “get away”. it's been years.

    • Jenna

Our last getaway was a weekend at the beach (with the in-laws) in May. The company I was working for went out of business, so we're trying to find something super cheap for our first anniversary… camping overnight in our car???

    • Wolfpack0304

My husband and i have been married come april 12 of this year 3 years we have been working hard but its so hard to get away for anything for ourselves. We are always working and when were not were with family. We have 3 dogs and sometimes they make it hard to get away. I quit work a november of last year and helped take care of my grandmother who was passing away from ovarian cancer. she died a week ago this monday it would be nice to get a way just alittle we could still use some quiet time to our self

    • JJH

We haven't. DH and I were married in Dec. 08 the next day.. we both went back to work..lol.. With a blended family of 7… We don't have money to just spend on us. But we're happy.. and i think that's all that matters anyway :)

    • Extremecoupongal

We went away together last October. We have been married for almost 15 years and have 2 children. We, like many people here, have full-time jobs, children's commitments, etc that make it difficult to get away. For our big anniversary, we won't be able to go any where due to financial issues. So this would serve as that for us. My husband is loving, kind, and does so much for everyone else it would be nice to give this to him. :)

    • SLH

My husband and I haven't taken a trip just us since our honeymoon almost 2 years ago.

    • Pam

It would be a great getaway! I just retired after teaching elementary school for thirty-four years, and my husband had a double lung transplant two years ago…so we've spent many days at Mayo. He's doing well though, and we're blessed he's been given the gift of life. What else is there to say! Pam

    • Jen

This is a wonderful giveaway!! My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in September and have not taken a trip alone in about 10 years!! I have been sick for 2 years, so we haven't gotten to take our family trip with our son the last two summers. I would love to surprise him with a get-away! If I was unable to make the trip, I would give it to a wonderful friend of mine and her husband. He is recovering from his 2nd round of cancer and over 100 days in the hospital. It would be a relaxing time for them as well! Thanks for the chance to win!

    • Christine Sanford

      Sounds like fun!!!!!!!!!

    • Rlvhewett

We have not been away for the weekend together since 1996. When we got married in 1998 we didn't take a honeymoon because of financial reasons. We will celebrate 13 yrs. of marriage on Wes. Jan. 19th and I would love to be able to tell my dear husband who works so hard for our family that we our going away for a weekend by ourselves.

    • Mrsqueenb

We have an almost 2 year old and an 8 week old. So it has been a WHILE since we had a getaway. We would love to win this trip and get in some quality time together. That week also happens to be our anniversary week-5 years!

    • Lindawoodall68

It has been since 2007 since our last weekend alone (and that was alone from 12 children!). We used to make up for the lack of alone time by having “date night” twice a month, but with this economy even that has stopped. And with my husband being laid off, now we're just in each other's hair all the time. It's weird! I would so love to be able to just pack up, just me and him, and take off for a couple of days. Take time to relax, talk, make plans for the immediate and not so immediate future, and to just love all over each other! :) And by the way, if I were chosen, I would love to either be in the
Kimberly Ann or the Betty Annette Room. They were so beautiful and serene looking! So with that said, please pick me and my fabulous husband for this awesome get a way! We're in SE TN, about 25 miles from the AL state line, so it is very accessible for us! Yeah…pick me! :) Thanks!

    • Mandy_52683

It has been 2 years since we have had a get away. This weekend would be perfect for my husband and I. We are already heading south that weekend to my parents house, and they would be great babysitters for our 3 year old and 10 week old. Thanks for all the tips and sharing this great give away!

    • Mollysavingmom

I can't even remember that last time! I think it was in 2007 – a few months before our twin boys were born! and OH HOW WE NEED IT! My husband just took on a pastorate position and we feel so stressed – this would be so nice!

    • Rlgreg

The last time my husband and I had a weekend getaway April of 2001. That was 10 yrs. and three babies ago!!!! Since I breastfed our children, they went where we went so all vacations have been in child friendly areas. We talk about it a lot, but can't seem to ever make it happen. Now that I have been couponing for around 8 months, I just can't justify spending money on the adults, when I could find so many ways to use it for my children. I would absolutely love to win this getaway and become reacquainted with the man I love!!!! Thank you so much for the opportunity!!

    • Kbblack82

The last time we have been on a weekend getaway is about 4 years ago…we have a 2 1/2 year old, I work crazy hours full time at the hospital AND have been going to school full time for the past 2 yrs! Thanks for the opportunity!

    • Hgesmom

We actually got away about a month ago to have fingerprints done for our adoption from China. We'd love to get away, though, one more time since we won't be able to for a while after our adoption is complete.

    • Bridget

I think it has been almost six years since we got away on our own. We both work and go to school, plus we don't have any relatives nearby to babysit so there is no time for traveling.

    • it has been since last August with my hubs! would love this!

    • gail

Over two years ago both my mom and my mother in law were diagnosed with cancer, we lost my mom Nov.2,2009 and my mother in law Nov.5,2010. Not only have my husband and I not had a weekend to ourselves but we have also been separated quite often my mom lived in New York and we reside in Georgia so I was spending as much time as possible there with her. It has been quite a bad year but we will get through it with the help of God and our family and friends. I would truly feel blessed to be able to tell my husband that we are going to spend a well deserved weekend together, thanks to you. Last August was our 10 year wedding anniversary but we were going through so much that we didn't even have time to think about that. Well now I would just like to show him that I love him and that is why I am entering this, he is my best friend.

    • Season Williams

Hmmm – last weekend away – can't remember it!! The 29th is our 11th anniversary. Last year, I had dreamed we would have some big get away – a cruise, a trip, something out of the ordinary – and fun! I got out of the ordinary – we moved!! And this year – we are packng to move again!! This would be a fun break and way to spend our 11th anniversary!!

    • Bmccorkle70

I always spend every free minute i have with my wonderful Mother who is 83 and not in good health.recently i met the most wonderful man and would love to have a weekend getaway with just me and him.It would give us a chance to move forward and spend some quality time alone with each other.

    • Shelleyschu

Emma's Bay House looks absolutely wonderful. The last time that we had a get away was in September 2009 when my husband took me on a “Mystery Trip” up to Dalton, GA to go to the Dillard house for my birthday. We only went overnight but it was very much needed. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get away since I lost my job in March 2009 and our family income has been cut in half. Thanks to Jenny, our budget is ok with the coupon savings, but there are no extras to go for a couples weekend. With a 6-year-old, we desperately need to get away. Plus, you are drawing on my husband's birthday. It would be a great birthday surprise to say that we are going to the beach!! (The Betty Annette or Kimberly Ann rooms look wonderful.)

As a side note, we are lighthouse nuts and it is one of the reasons that we were attracted to each other. I have visited more than 60 lighthouses. We would love the opportunity to visit the coast. While the Alabama lighthouses were hurt in the hurricanes and are under repair, we love to visit and learn about the history of the lost lighthouses.

    • Kelly

We have been married for 8 and 1/2 years and we have not had a weekend away since before we had our children (3.5 and 1). They are both old enough now that we could leave them with my parents for a weekend, and this would be something nice to do before we have any more children and are tied down for a few more years!! :-)

    • Eva

I just passed Emma's Bay House this saturday and loved it. Can't rememeber the last weekend get away..maybe 3 years ago or more….
Would love to win this getaway!!

    • My husband is a youth minister, so we don't get to travel much on the weekends, unless we're taking the youth group somewhere.

    • Blouzahdeb

This looks so nice! I haven't had a weekend away since before my daughter was born, and she just turned 4. We don't have family close by, so we don't get to do overnights. I think now that she's older, we could probably work something out, and a weekend together would be so nice :)

    • Mrspearson06

My husband and I will celebrate our 5 year anniversary on Jan 29th! :) We didn't get a honeymoon, so we have never been away! :)

    • Jodi

My hubby & I used to go away for our birthdays (both in January) and for our anniversary (in June), so twice a year. But I think our 10-year anniversary (3 1/2 years ago) was the last weekend getaway we had, after my business slowed dramatically. And after being stuck in for 9 straight days with all the snow & ice, this sounds extra indulgent!! Thanks for the opportunity!

    • Leigh

My daughter is 17. I haven't had a weekend away since she was 5. She has health problems and the time just never seems right. I would love to go to Emma's Bay House and relax for the weekend!

    • SANDJBURK

MY PARENTS WILL HAVE THEIR 41ST ANNIVERSARY ON JANUARY 24TH…THEY ARE UNABLE TO GO AWAY DUE TO FINANCES SO THIS WOULD BE THE MOST WONDERFUL SURPRISE. THEY ARE THE PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MARRIAGE SHOULD BE. I WAITED TO GET MARRIED UNTIL I SAW IN US WHAT I SAW IN MY PARENTS….THEY HAVE NEVER PUT THEMSELVES BEFORE US AND FOR ONCE I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO PAMPER THEM…THEY ARE TRULY MEANT TO BE.. MY FATHER TRAVELED FROM SCOTLAND TO ECUADOR AND MET MY MOM…9 MONTHS LATER THEY GOT MARRIED. THEY HAVE NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER FOUGHT OR BEEN AWAY FROM EACH OTHER. MY FATHER COMES HOME FROM WORK TO HAVE LUNCH WITH MY MOM. AS YOU CAN SEE….THEY DESERVE THE BEST.

Me and my fiance have been away once on a weekend to biloxi 2 years ago. i have a 6 year old and a 12 year old and don't like to leave them for a long period of time. a nice weekend would be perfect. It looks so beautiful. I work nights and he works days and just see each other coming and going. He is going to be a wonderful stepfather for my children and this would be so great for him and me to get away for the weekend.

My husband and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary this past November. We will celebrate our 35th birthdays this year, mine on January 30th and his March 31st. We married very young (20 years old) and have been blessed to overcome adversity and honor our vows. Our wedding was a small ceremony, at Seville Square Park, in Pensacola, FL. We couldn't afford a honeymoon at that time and have always dreamed of “one day” getting to take a trip away together. While we were still newlyweds, he joined the United States Air Force and we were wisked away to southern Georgia. Not a vacation spot. The day before our one year wedding anniversary, I surprised him with the news of our first pregnancy! Since then we have welcomed two phenomenal children into our lives. Our focus since their births have been on them. Their educations, their activities, their goals and dreams. I'd truly love to spend my 35th birthday weekend, alone with my husband, reconnecting and enjoying our FIRST getaway since November 7, 1996..our wedding day.
      Blessing!

My husband and I haven't had time away since we got married, almost 12 years ago! What a beautiful place Emma's Bay House looks to be!

    • JD Georgia

Got laid off in January 2009. Haven't been away for a weekend since before then.

It has been so long that I can’t even remember when the last time occured.

I'm not going to tell you I can't remember the last time my husband and I were able to sneak away for a day, but our beloved memories of napping in a hammock seem distant. We were married on Nov. 14, 2009. My husband is active duty army, 3rd ID, 1st Brigade (scout), was placed under stop loss orders and deployed to Iraq on Dec. 13, 2009. He lived in our home for less than a month before leaving. We spent our first Christmas and Valentine's Day alone. The end of February 2009, his mother passed away unexpectedly, and he returned home for a very brief two weeks. After that our birthdays, my college graduation, and even our first Wedding Anniversary were spend thousands of miles apart. He returned home safely Dec. 2010. There are no words to express how thankful and happy we are to be reunited. A romantic weekend seems like a great way to get back to the basics, and it would be really nice to enjoy what we have longed for, the simplicity of just being together.

It has been well over 5 years since we have gone away for a weekend. This is a reminder that we really need to take a break every so often.

    • Karen

What a beautiful B&B and wonderful location! I'm entering to give to my parents as a 50th anniversary gift. They eloped for their marriage and never had a true “celebration” of their wedding. I had planned on giving them a big party for their 50th. I live 6 hours away from them and had planned everything with a local event center (older SC home on the intercoastal waterway) and everything was ready (family coming from all over). Well, as luck would have it a family crisis occurred and the plans had to be cancelled. I was heartbroken and so were my parents. This would be such a wonderful vacation/honeymoon weekend for them and the location has everything they'd truly enjoy. Thank you for the opportunity to give them a honeymoon.

    • LA Henson

My husband and I have a son (he will be 5 in April) the last time we had a weekend away was when I was pregnant with him! This B&B looks amazing!

    • Tennvol24

My husband got laid off in Feburary 2009. He has been a full time student since. He graudated this past December, now looking for a job. God has been so faithful in taking care of us. Some time together would be good for both of us. Haven't been away for a weekend since March of 2008. I really love the colors in the “Kimberly Ann Room”.

    • Karen

We managed a weekend away last summer but it had been many years since we had been away by ourselves.

    • We had a baby in October 2006 and have since adopted my great niece and nephew, who were also babies/toddlers. So we have a 4 year old, a 3.75 year old and a 3 year old. We haven't been anywhere together as a couple (hardly even to dinner) in over 4 years. I absolutely love Fairhope – I lived there one quarter during college – I took a qtr off to raise money for tuition. Thanks for the chance to win!

    • Taraspears

My husband and I have not had a romantic weekend away since 2007. We have an 18 month old and no family in town. This would be much appreciated and a bonus, tomorrow is my birthday.

    • Donna

My husband and I have not had a weekend since 2004. We have seven children that keep us busy. We would love to rekindle our romance. Thanks for this opportunity.

    • Charlene_sanabria

My husband and I have not had a getaway weekend…ever. We have been together for 15 years and that is a shame. It's just never been in the budget. It all looks very serene. A great place to relax.

    • Mellat

The last time away we had was before the kids, about 2 years ago. And that was walking DC pregnant!

    • Heather

I am thankful that my parents come visit frequently and also take my kids whenever they can so that I can get a break or go on vacation with DH. If I were to win I would send my parents on a weekend getaway as a thank you for the many things they sacrifice to help my family out. Its probably been 15 years or more since they have done something like that!!!

    • vickie

We moved in our home making plenty of money. Then, my husband got cancer, I became totally disabled with pain and our girls became teenagers which is a whole other story. He has been out of work for 2 years and we rarely can afford to eat out, much less go anywhere. I spend my time couponing and feeding other people who are suffering financially. I am sure he would be most appreciative that my couponing gave back to me a trip out of Georgia! Thanks for all you do!!! You just amaze me.

    • Acaldwellgovols

We could really use a weekend away! We haven't had a vacation since our honeymoon! Our baby girl was born 9 months later and she is now 10 months old so it's been a while for us! Plus the B & B is close to my family so we might get to catch up with them during our stay! Thanks

    • Jessica

we did get away last summer with the kids. I grew up in Mobile so taking a trip close to home would be wonderful!!

    • Tiffany

My husband and I just got 2 nights away for his birthday in December, but that is the only time in 4 years. Sad but true. We used to make a point to get away every year, but it is getting harder and harder!

    • katherine jolly

my husband has ben gone for over 4 years in 9 days we plan on haveing our first weekend together i have lived in mobile county for 36 years and have not heard of this bed and breakfast we would love to win this i would want to stay in the Betty Annette Room it looks really nice

    • PaigeP

March will be 4 years since my husband and I have had a getaway. We moved, then had another baby, and there just hasn't been a chance. We'd LOVE to sneak away for a weekend in Mobile!!!

    • Kamiekelley

Wow!!!! It has been over five years ago, when I was prego with my first! In fact we have not even had a date night. We dont have any family in the area and dont have to many babysitting contacts that I would trust…then again Iam slightly ocd about my kids….lol some would even think crazy…This trip would be fantastic!!

    • Caitlin Matthews

I really cannot imagine being blessed with a weekend away at such a beautiful place. It has been so long since my husband and I have had a weekend away I truly have trouble remembering ( it has been over a year or two minimum).
February of 2010 my father went into renal failure and had to have a kidney transplant. Thankfully we already had a donor in place. Believe it or not his wife was a perfect match. The transplant went great however they had to be separated for recovery due to the stress and duress that the medications and emotional turmoil that had been placed on them for some time. My father lived with me until April so that I could care for him.
A week after my father left , my 35 year old husband had a stroke. April 15th , the lives of my three children (all boys ;0) and myself came to a complete stop. After watching my husband have his stroke and get placed into a coma and on a ventilator that night i was finally able to speak to him four days later. I was able to take him home in a wheelchair about 4 days after that. He could barely speak , write, or even feed himself. He was perfectly healthy until that day. I am happy to say that he has made a complete recovery with little residual damage and was able to return to work mid October of last year.
During all of this , my health was becoming an issue. I thought I had something simple wrong with me but I was mistaken. My family practitioner had diagnosed me with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The problem was that I had other strange symptoms as well. When sent to several specialists I found out that I had a rare malformation . I had a cervical rib and TOS a.k.a. Thoracic outlet syndrome. It is something that less than 2% of the general population have, it is rare. December 16th I found myself at MUSC having my rib removed. Without the procedure I had a high risk of stroke and blood clots that would lead to losing an appendage in my right extremities.
With all of this being said….this is the short version. My husband I have not had any time away with each other. It is time that is greatly needed. Our bodies have been healing but our marriage has been through a lot and we a stronger for it. It would be great to have a weekend to celebrate our love and commitment to each other without financial obligations to hold us back.

    • kah

My last weekend getaway with my husband was last November. For my birthday he reserved for us a cabin in the mountains. This month we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and this trip is exactly what we need :)

    • Vmrt

This will be the first Valentines Day with my boyfriend, and we have never had a weekend away. We've talked about doing something together, but money is very tight for both of us and it would be great to do something really memorable for our first Valentines Day together.

    • Bryarsmom

      Wow-what a great give away!
I guess it's been about 6 months since our last getaway without relatives or chihuahua's :)
      Thanks!

    • ChristyM

Well, it's been almost 2 years since my last getaway with my husband!!! We were able to leave our 2 boys with my in-laws for a week! Emma's Bay House looks absolutely beautiful, and we would love to spend a weekend there reconnecting.

    • April

My husband and I have not had a weekend away since before we had our oldest child. He will be 14 this April.

    • Tkalexander

What a wonderful surprise for some lucky parents!! As the parents of 5 blessings I can't remember the last time we got away!!

    • Rocketgirl5678

I think our last weekend away was last Valentine's Day. My husband is always talking about going to a B and B, this would be a great opportunity.

    • Steward1139

We have never experienced a Bed and Breakfast experience. We would love it I'm sure! It has been several years since we have been away with one another. Raising teenagers, we feel like we need to stay fairly close.

    • Tempa

We have not had a vacation since June 2007. We have three children 5 and under and would love some “us” time!! This B&B is beautiful and looks like a wonderful place to relax.

    • Melissa_hon

Fun! A B&B would be a perfect weekend! We took a quick trip over to Savannah for New Years!

    • Tstone7

I would love to surprise my wife with a weekend away at a B&B since the last time we went anywhere was Valentine's Day 6 years ago, right before our first child was born.

    • Cindy

Our 30th wedding anniversary is on Valentines Day! Because of the economy and cutbacks at his work, we won't have money to go away. We managed to get away to a close by b&b last year, but before that it was 5 years.

    • Lisa

I would actually give this to my sister and her husband. They live in Pensacola, FL – not too far from Fairhope. After 16 years of marriage, God blessed them with their first child last February – a beautiful little girl that I adore. She has been a good baby, but it has been a very big change in their life and lifestyle. My sister had a well paying job as the H.R. director of a large health organization. She made the decision to stay home with her little girl and give up her well paying job and I'm so proud of her for choosing to be a vital part of her child's life. She and her husband (a sherrif's deputy) could use a few days to themselves to rejoice in the blessings they've been given and to enjoy time alone together.

    • Bldavis1125

I love the view. It is so romantic and looks relaxing. My husband and I have not been on a trip just the 2 of us in 4 years! Living on a budget with kids makes it hard to get away.

    • Red

The last time my hubby & I had a getaway was 4 years ago. We had planned to take a babymoon when we were expecting our first child 2 summers ago, but financially we just couldn't make it happen. Now we're expecting our second and we still don't have the funds for a babymoon! At least I get to stay home with my babies thanks to all the great deals I find here and through my coupons. We'd love to go to Fairhope – my hubby is from southern AL and we could drop our daughter off at his folks on the way! :)

    • Christy

The last time we had a Valentine's get-away was about 12 years ago. We decided to go to Gatlinburg on Valentine's weekend without reservations. MISTAKE! It started snowing before we got all the way up the mountain. The only place we could find to stay was a broken down looking motel, but it did have a fireplace in the room. The fireplace was a lifesaver because the door was made out of cardboard, I believe, and had about a 4 inch gap under it. When we woke up the next morning there was a snow drift in the room. It would be nice to go somewhere with a beach for Valentine's :)
      -Christy

    • Jennifer

The last time me and my husband had a weekend get away was on our honeymoon (7/9/10). Another get away would be wonderful.

    • jessica

I honestly cant remember when my husband and I have had a non-businsess/moving night away together. We just moved from Naples,Fl to Albany,Ga after we suffered a huge job loss. The past few months have been a whirlwind and we could certainly use a fun break:)

    • Suzanne

The last time my husband and I had a getaway was for one night In St. Augustine on 10/14/07, our 10th wedding anniversary. Your bed and breakfast looks like just what we need. It would be so wonderful to get away again.

    • Djarac123

I'm a single mom and I work extremely hard to make sure my girls have what they need. There isn't always extra's but they have the basics. Anytime we plan a vacation its always the girls and I. I personally have not been away by myself since before they were born. My youngest is now 13 and it would be nice to have a couple of days alone to just focus on me. We as mom's always feel guilty about doing anything for ourselves but this would be something nice. Thank you. AngelaT

    • Claudia

I would love to stay at a B&B since it would be a first time for me. My husband and I took a short trip around Thanksgiving.

    • Susan

Let's see, my husband took me away for my bday last Oct. It was really special. We are expecting our 2nd child in Feb so this would be perfect for a babymoon

    • Courtney

I've never been to a Bed & Breakfast and have always loved to go. Nothing like a cozy winter getaway!

    • Jillclengel

It has probably been three years since my husband and I have gotten a weekend away. The last time was for a wedding that my husband was in for one of his closest friends. We were away for one night while my in-laws watched our then three kids. Other than that one night get-away, I cannot remember having a whole weekend away with my husband since, our son was born 9 years ago.

    • Karen

The last time we had a getaway weekend was on our honeymoon 3 years ago. We are overdue for some time away.

    • Barbara

It has been over a year since my husband and I have had a vacation. Our 39th wedding anniversary is February 12th, and this would be a fantastic way to celebrate a little early since the finances are strained.

    • Twoods117

Just the two of us, what??! It has been longer that I can remember, maybe on our honeymoon almost 14 years ago. Since then we have had 3 wonderful children that gladly take up our time, energy, and of course, money. This would be great for us to get away!

    • Linda

My husband and I care for my Mom (she is 83) It has been a long time since we were away alone. In fact I can't remember when we were. We will be married 49 years this April.
      Linda Fulton

    • Rowekristi11

It's been over five years since me and my husband has been on a weekend getaway. We have three kids 5, 3, and 9 months. We havent went away on our own since our oldest was born:( I think it's WAY overdue:)

    • momto3boys

The last time and the ONLY time my husband and I have had a weekend getaway was in Fall of 2008. We have almost been married 10 years with 3 kids. He has been to Iraq 2 times in the past 3 years. This doesn't leave “together” time. I think we always felt guilty when the kids were smaller getting away for the weekend so we never did. Our lives have been hectic the last year with closing on a house and soon after, while he was still in Iraq, getting new orders. We;ve probably only been on a few date nights our entire marriage which were flight Christmas parties. Today marks the 20th anniversary of when my husband entered basic training. He has faithfully served for 20 years and will continue to serve for years to come. I would LOVE to be able to give us a weekend away. HE so deserves it after so many deployments and long hours many of which were on the weekend. I love him so much. This would give us a great weekend to reconnect.

    • kjmiller

Wow.. my husband and I have NEVER had a weekend getaway with no children (so that'd be going on six years now!). The place looks lovely, would be a wonderful treat. :)

    • Lplauche

Last getaway was a cruise when I was pregnant. The boat was rocky so there was nausea on top of nausea. Not my favorite.

    • Crystal

I would love to win this and surprise my husband! We haven't been on a vacation w/just the two of us in several years! We have been wanting to take one and can't seem to find the money to! So this would be a special treat! & some time well spent together. Thanks!

    • Laurenbabyak

We are in the U.S. for a year (we usually live in West Africa as missionaries) and haven't had a weekend away together, just for fun, since our oldest was born five and a half years ago. Although we LOVE being with our boys, we sure could use a refreshing weekend together after 4 stressful years overseas, learning languages and being away from family. This would be perfect timing before we go back to Africa in a few months.

    • Kim

The last time my husband and I went away just the two of us was for our Anniversary two years ago when I was pregnant with our second. It's been a while!

    • Anna

I would love to give this to my sister. She has three children and has been married to her great husband for 28 years. In that time she has been away with her husband twice. He is self employed and if he takes off he doesn't get paid. Makes vacations hard. She desires this! She is the one that showed me this site and I save every week because of her. We even make it a competition. I would love to give her a weekend with her husband just the two of them.

    • Michelled

My husband and I used to take weekends together every year for our aniversary and our birthdays. Tim is January 17th and my birthday is January 28th ! We have not had any weekends alone in the past 4 years because of the economy. My husband used to own his own business but now works at our church which we are extremely thankful for but also resulted in a decrease in income. We have four children and two grandchildren and always believed these little weekend getaways strengthen a marriage and are important to a healthy relationship. We are also close by in Georgia.

    • Natalie

The last time we had a romantic weekend getaway was for our honeymoon =)

    • Annette

I cant remember. Our vacations always include our children. (grown now). great times. Oh, to be in peace & quite listening only to the sound of the waves & my husband snoring, and to smell the food someone else is cooking. (dream, dream) What a gorgeous place. Someone will truly be blessed.

    • MB1914

What a beautiful place!! It has been 3 years since by hubbie and I have had a weekend away together. Our lives have neen hectic and chaotic for the past couple of years to say the least! On 2/9/09, we lost our house in a fire. We were very, very lucky in that we were all ok, and we had insurance that covered most everything. We lost everything however, so the past two years have been spent trying to get back to a state of normalcy for our family. I am happy to say that we are finally there! We have 2 grade school age kids who are very active, and they keep us busy. We both work full time, and weekends just seem to fill up so quickly. My husband started a new job in the fall, and I am in my 5th yr as a Girl Scout Troop leader. Like most of the folks who have posted, we keep saying we need to go away for the weekend but never seem to make it happen. Our 15th wedding anniversary came and went in August, and we still have not scheduled our getaway. So selfishly, I would love this weekend for my husband and me! I wish whoever wins this a GREAT time! :)

    • Mandy

It's been almost 3 years! We had boy/girl twins in 2009. My pregnancy was stressful, and we have had our hands full ever since! We would love a night away!!

    • Tammy

I honestly can't remember us ever having a weekend away alone. We never went on a honeymoon as my husband is military and it just wasn't possible at the time. We have since had 1 little boy and then twin boys so our vacations have always included them.

    • Shannonvargas

My husband and I have been married for 11 years and we have never taken a vacation without our children. When I met my husband I already had a 1 year old little girl so we had an instant family from the start. We now have 4 children ranging in age from 3 to 13 and we have always talked about taking a vacation and leaving the kids with the grandparents, but it has just never worked out. We either didn't have the money or my in-laws were busy and couldn't watch them. I lost both of my parents so we only have one set of grandparents we can ask. I would really love to take this mini vacation. I am sure my husband and I would have a wonderful time.

    • Nichols_again

Lovely. I am in TN and I have never heard of this place although it's not that far. I have been married for 4 years and my husband and I have never been on a honeymoon or a weekend getaway of any kind. We think about it from time to time but we have two children and it just hasn't been in the budget…EVER LOL. I am a full time student and he is a plumber who supports my college endeavor. We would love to be able to stowe the children at my parents for the weekend and have a bit of time for ourselves.

    • Erinmgiles

What a beautiful B and B! We haven't been away since our weekend honeymoon three years ago. We have a 10month old and this would be a much needed weekend away! Being new parents has taken quite a toll on our alone time and if we won it would be a major blessing!!

    • Jennifer

It has been 2 years since we had a getaway. We used to live across the country from family so we never got to do a weekend away for the first 10 years of our marriage. So, we finally got one a few years ago. Thank so much for all your hardwork on this website. It has helped me so much. Couponing is my new hobby. I even gave away a bunch of my freebies for Christmas presents. Everybody was amazed! I left them all a little dazed and confused as to how to do it. I tell everyone about your website and offer to help them get started. Thanks for all you do! Jennifer

    • ALLIE

This place is gorgeous! Would love a weekend away with my husband. We try to make it a point to go somewhere every year, but with an 11 month old that's been near impossible. Luckily that weekend, we have someone that can keep him!!! My parents would LOVE it if we could go.

    • Katherine

My husband and I have not been away together ( except for business) in almost 5 years. We have been raising our youngest grandaughter, who is 81/2 now. We adopted her last Jan. We love her and she goes everywhere with us. But a getaway just the 2 of us would be just wonderful.

    • Sthomas8105

My son and my 5 year old grandson live with us! So we have not had a weekend getaway in 5 yrs. We always said we would travel when I retired, but running a household takes money, so we don't go. So I would love this getaway!

    • Ccook

What a beautiful place!!!! I'd love to be able to enjoy that weekend on the Bay! I got married in July 2010, but wasn't able to go on a honeymoon due to my new husband starting a new job that month, so he wasn't able to take off. I have a 9 yr old, so we had been trying to put all of our extra funds into having a great Christmas and giving her a great birthday….so a nice and cozy weekend away for us would be AMAZING!!!!

    • Ellencleveland

It's been forever! Would LOVE a weekend at this beautiful bed and breakfast.

    • Layniejones

I would love to visit this beautiful place! I am originally from Pensacola and used to work in the Fairhope area and it has been way too long since I have been for a visit. Since my my husband and I have a four year old and we are foster parents, there is not much time to get away. I would love to surprise my better have with a fun trip!

    • vicki

it looks so beautiful! the last time i had a weekend away was when i was pregnant with my daughter and now she is 18. we never had any family around to help with daily things and definately noone to help with a weekend away. that would be so relaxing!

    • Rosie

It has been at least five years now that I have been able to take my girls anywhere except visiting with the family. It would be a blessing to be able to get them away from all the stress and take them to a beautiful place such as Emma's bed and breakfast. The girls would love the beauty because they are both into cameras and scenery pictures.

    • Kjlewis

I can't remember the last time my husband and I went away on a romantic get away. He is an evangelist and so when we travel, it is more “business” than pleasure. I have always wanted to stay in a bed and breakfast, and the chosen weekend is also my birthday, so what a nice surprise that would be! Good luck to all….and God Bless you!

    • Raderam

My husband and I last had a weekend away when we went to Australia together in September 2010- it was actually 2 weeks away, but it was so good for our marriage. We would love to win this!

    • Kristin

It's beautiful! My husband and I went on a cruise last year for our 5 year anniversary but my sister-in-law and her husband havn't gone anywhere together since I've known them so this would be a perfect little get away for them!!

    • Angela

I can't even remember the last time my husband and I had a weekend away. What's even better is that my in-laws live in between our house and Emma's Bay House Bed & Breakfast, so we could drop our kids off for some free babysitting. : ) This prize would be much appreciated!!

    • The4mccords

How peaceful and romatic this looks. My husband and I haven't been away together just the two of us since 2001 on our 10th anniversary. This year we will celebrate our 20th annversary and i must say this would be a wonderful addition to our celebration of love.

    • Keri

It was last March when me and my husband went out of town together. We always try to go away at least once a year for the weekend. Its starting to look like we arent going to be able to go this year due to money, so this would be great to win.

    • Misty

What a beautiful place! My husband asked me to marry him on a weekend getaway at a bed & breakfast. We got married on Valentine's Day in 2003. So we will be celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary next month! Our oldest daughter was born the following year & we have another daughter who was born in 2007. We have not been on a vacation by ourselves since our honeymoon. I would love to spend an early anniversary weekend at such a beautiful place with my husband!

    • Grammyofjack

And it's on the water! And it's gorgeous! My newly pregnant daughter and her husband haven't gotten away, alone, in 3 years and before that, it was their honeymoon 10 years ago! She's the primary breadwinner and a spedical ed. middle school teacher, so they would LOVE some time away-with adults!

    • Ana

It's been several years since the last time.

    • cindy

Our last weekend together was in August when we celebrated our anniversary. The view looks spectacular. I would love to see the downtown area.

    • Jennifer M.

This May we were able to get to St. Simon's for a wedding, but prior to that it had been three years — since my daughter was an infant!

    • Anna

I haven't been anywhere since last February. And I've never been to a bed and breakfast. It looks so nice!!

    • Beth J

Actually, it's only been a couple of weekends since the last getaway for my husband of 5 years and I :) But we'd love to take another! Thanks Jenny!

    • Tammy

This would be a wonderful place to spend our 17th anniversary on the 29th! It has been along time since we have had time away from our busy schedules together!

    • Suzwak

We have not been on a weekend getaway since before my kids were born. They are now 15 and 17.

    • It's been forever since I have had a weekend away! single moms normally don't get that luxury. However, it's been even longer since my sister has had some alone time! I would love to take her or ahve her go by herself and just relax!

    • Sdred85

We last went on a getaway in 2008. I was just recently diagnosed with MS and my husband has been the sweetest thing to me. This would be a great way to show him how much I appreciate his help. And with medical bills, the funds are low so it would be great to win this! Thanks so much!

    • Kinzetta

I would love to be able to give this weekend getaway to my parents who live in Bay Minette, AL. They never ever get away as they are busy with my brother, church activities and taking care of older parents!!!

    • Mary

This is a gorgeous place for som R&R for me and my husband. The last trip we went on was July 08 when we took a small 3 day trip to the smoky mountains to Gatlinburg. We had not alot of money so we got the trip by doing the timeshare stuff. I had found out some horrible medical news about myself and my soon to be husband wanted to take me away to get a breather/ to propose/ to elope. Although i told him yes get engaged but no to the elopement. we got married in April of 09 and spent the little money we had for a honeymoon to fly his family down for the wedding because he had not seen them in about 8 years. now he have a baby girl and my husband changed jobs where he is on call 5 days of the week. we are still real strapped for mmoney to spend on a small vacay. we would really appreciate the pportunity to get away for a few days.

      • mary

i just looked at the calender and these are actually his two daysoff that week. it would be perfect and he would not have to miss any work. thank you for you consideration…………………………….Mary

    • Jshaw

It has been NEVER since my husband & I have been able to get away… With 2 children.. You are right.. times are tight & we are unable to afford to go anywhere like this.. This would be an AWESOME getaway for us! We would LOVE TO WIN IT!

    • Pam

We had never had a getaway. We have two children- boys- 10 and 9. And they will not even spend the night at their grandparents house so we haven't even had a night by ourselves. They feel they have to sleep at home where their parents are. I am hoping this is gonna change soon.

    • Mindy

This bed and breakfast is beautiful! The last getaway my husband and I had was June 2010. Thanks for this offer!

    • Christi Keable

My husband and I have two 8 week old twin girls, and a 15 month old son. We were able to get away last May for my husbands birthday, but unfortunately I was nauseous the whole time from being pregnant. If we were to get away, we will have to bring the twins though since I am breastfeeding :) But, I think that it would still count as a break.

    • Jennamreich

My husband have not gotten away together since our Honeymoon, over six years ago. Since that time away, we have had three wonderful daughters. We have a five year old and two 11 month old twins, so time away is very rare!

    • Shannon Q.

Oh how happy I would be!!! The last time my husband and I got away was a business trip for him in October 2008. I wouldn't know what to do with myself:)!

    • Odie11

That weekend will be our 29th Anniversary and we haven't had a weekend for just us since our 25th! We have a child with special needs and it is hard to get away. This looks like an amazing place for a special weekend getaway and I would love to surprise my husband with this trip.

    • Carolinelewis123

My husband and I haven't gotten to go away on a getaway vacation since February of last year. Our anniversary is coming up so this would be perfect!

    • Maria Courtney

It has been since May 2008 that we have had a nice weekend getaway..our honeymoon was almost a complete flop and mini day getaways since then have just about been the same. Would be so nice to win this since we only live like 1.5-2 hours away and are expecting our first child the 1st of March. Thanks so much, Maria Courtney (rmcourtney@gmail.com/601-436-0163)

    • Cindy

I cannot remember the last time my husband and I were able to get away for a weekend. Before he retired from the military, it seemed like he was always deployed or in the field. Now that he is retired, it seems like there is always something else going on with the girls and their sporting events. This would be a great surprise if I won!!

    • adrianiux

last year we went to savannah for the weekend, it was wonderful.. We're already talking about how we need to go on another weekend getaway before our first baby arrives in April.. This would be wonderful :)

    • Lori

My husband and I haven't had a weekend getaway in years. The place looks amazing and we have never been there we love going to places niether one of us has ever been to!

    • Seashell7272

My husband and I are about to celebrate our 5year wedding anniversary in February. We have 3 kids, 2 dogs, a mortgage, and own a business so we barely have time to even talk to each other these days. The last time we were alone together for an extended period of time was our honeymoon – and I was pregnant so we still weren't “alone!” Since we have been married we have been out to dinner 3 times by ourselves for about 2hrs each time. We desperately need a get-away to reconnect with each other.

    • meghanld

My husband and I tried to spend a weekend away two weeks ago, but due to his job it wasn't as relaxing as at should have been. I'd love to give it another try and possibly ditch his cell phone at home!

    • Elizabeth

Since before my son was born over two years ago, my husband has worked multiple jobs so that I could stay at home. Unfortunately, tight financial budgets don't really allow for amenities like weekends away. In February of this past year, my beloved grandmother, my angel, passed away. Grieving has been a slow process because as a mother, you don't get to stay in bed and cry it out. Your duties don't stop even if you sometimes need them to do so. I have needed a break, a chance to simply sit and relax with my best friend, my husband. Emma's Bay House looks like a retreat from the everyday routine. Our idea of an amazing evening would be to simply sit on their inviting porch and watch the sun set over Mobile Bay. The website shows photographs of the guest rooms, all of which are beautiful. I think I'm even going to take decorating tips from the Betty Annette room!

    • Barbara

The last weekend getaway I had was the wekend my son was conceived…20 years ago. We just up & left, spur of the moment. How lovely it would be to have another weekend like that!! And w/Valentines right around the corner..perfect <3

    • Lisa Bennich

We haven't had a weekend away just the two of us since I don't know when. I guess it would be when we went to The Biltmore just before our son was born. We went in April 2008.

    • Amanda M.

Oh my goodness, the last time we had a weekend away was before we became pregnant with our twins. We took a weekend fishing trip in May 2008. It's been too long, and we're desperate for a getaway, no matter how small, and Mobile is just a short drive for us. =)

    • CD

This will be the first Valentine's Day since we married last year. Our last romantic trip was the honeymoon, so it would be great to get away for a special weekend. Thanks.

    • Stephanie

My boyfriend and I have not had a weekend away together since we started dating almost a year and a half ago. This would be such a nice respite. Thanks for the giveaway!

    • Melissa S.

Wow…our last getaway was for our anniversary before we got pregnant with our third child, three years ago this summer. We spent the weekend at a historic inn/B&B just off the Marietta Square (near Atlanta). We'd LOVE another small getaway soon! Thanks for the chance to win one!

    • Richelle

We just started the Total Money Makeover and this would be a perfect Valentines Getaway.

    • Pam

Our last getaway was in July 2010. Since then. my husband and I have been apart due to a job transfer. A getawy would do wonders for our marriage and family.

    • TNG

My husband and I have not had time alone in years. His 40th birthday was this past October and I had promised myself I would surprise him with a small getaway. Unfortunely, his company closed and left him unemployed. Although I work, it was not enough to pay the bills and enjoy a weekend getaway. In looking at the website, Emma's looks like the prefect place to celebrate Valentine's Day and the “forgotten” birthday. Thanks for giving us this chance to win!!

    • Odikabrown

Our last getaway w/o the kids was early 2009 before my mother passed. Much needed getaway

    • Natalie559

      july 2010

    • Christy

This would be such a wonderful opportunity for us. The last time my husband and I got away for the weekend was about 2 years ago. We have 3 children, the oldest is 14 and the baby is 14 months. DH is in the military and for the past two years has not lived at home with us. The first year he was working in a different state and only came home on the weekends. For the past year, he has been in Iraq and is due home within the next week! What a treat for him to come home to a romantic getaway!

    • idreamofj

It has been far too long!

    • Tony

Well, my wife Kim and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Unfortunately, we both lost our jobs within 2 days of each other in October and remain unemployed presently. Honestly, Jenny you have played a key role in our survival during this time based on your wonderful website. We attended a workshop of yours two years ago in Atlanta at a real estate office and it changed our lives and spending. During the past 2 years other than our mortgage we have been able to get debt free except for our mortgage and that workshop was the start in us getting control of our expenses and we both love what you do for us all daily. We have had the annual family vacations and last went to the beach last summer. However, my wife and I have not taken a trip together alone in the last 20 years and this would mean the world to us. I am not telling her that I am entering as I would love for it to be a wonderful surprise for her and help take our minds off of our circumstances for a weekend. Again, thank you for all you do for us!

    • Susie

Can't remember just spending time alone with my hubby in years, this would be great

    • cv

My wife and I are coming up on 3 years together and are both pursuing seminary degrees in louisville. we usually only get away on our anniversary which was last june.

    • Sandivsc

My husband and I never seem to get away just us!! I always include my mom and disabled brother on our summer vacations because they would not take one at all if I did not. My children and grandchildren are also included in our summer vacations because they could afford to go unless it is with us. My summer vacations are wonderful dont get me wrong but a nice quiet weekend alone with my husband of 30 years would be a dream come true. I would love to see Alabama also.

    • John

My wife and I just celebrated our 12th anniversary, however since we got married a few days before Christmas we never seem to get away during that time of year. We have 3 boys and she works tirelessly as a stay at home mom to them. Would love to surprise my wife with this! Thanks!

    • kelly

My husband and I never seem to never get away. I work at a Christian bookstore on Saturdays, so we haven't had a weekend alone, no kids, in years. The last time we went away was when he came home from Afghanistan, but he was so tired when we got there, he fell asleep.

    • SarahB

Three children under five, a full-time job, no extra money…. a weekend getaway has not been in the plan, but would be great!

    • Marisa

My husband and I have not been away together since October 2008. We have 3 small children (4,3 and 7 months) and do not live near family, so it is hard to just try and go out on dates, let alone get a weekend together. We would love to get away and have some time to ourselves. We have been married 7 years and could use some alone time, just the two of us.

    • Anne

Our last getaway was for our 20-year anniversary last year, and we decided we should do that more often!

    • Kristin

I would LOVE to win this! My hubby and I have not been away for about 2 1/2 years! We need some time away… :)

    • Deborah

It's been over six years since we've had a weekend away. This sounds like a great place to stay!

    • Versluism

Jenny, I would like to give this gift to my frien Jen. She and her husband are very busy with their 5 kids and his fulltime job as a Head Football Coach. They both love the work with the football players. Much of their time is spent helping the players with grades, family problems, getting them to colleges, or feeding them at their house. Jen is a stay at home Mom, but she has a busy schedule with her own kids and sports as well. I think the last time they went away together was 2 years ago when we all went to a coaches football clinic. They have been married for 17 years and I would love for them to be able take a weekend off before football starts again.

    • larhea

It has been two years since my hubby and I have have had a weekend away and that was on our honeymoon! With work and bills its just really to hard to get away! This is an awesome looking retreat and I have always dreamed of staying at a B&B

    • Emily

Our family had a weekend away in Novemeber of 2009, but the hubby and I have not had one away by ourselves since before our daughter was born 6+ years ago!
This would be so awesome to win! Our 10th wedding anniversary is in March and we don't have the funds for a special trip like this to celebrate, so it would be great!

    • Ft486

I love that it is a Nature reserve, that it has a Pier and a pier, and the option to go out if you want… the perfect get away for a couple and it has something to keep the men happy! My husband an I have been married 11 years this year and were not able to celebrate our 10th aniversary die to his mothers stroke. This would be a great place to have some time alone, to reconnect.

    • kcreviews

I would LOVE to win this. It has been 5 years since we had a nice getaway on our anniversary. This would be a godsend–it looks lovely.

    • Kristen

Oh my goodness. This would be SO wonderful. The last time my hubby and I had a weekend getaway was our honeymoon…which will be 7 years ago in February. Thank you so much for the chance-looks divine!

    • JH2021

My husband and I have not been on a weekend “alone” together in 7 yrs (Jan 2003). Since then we have stressful jobs, 2 kids, and are in the final stages of building a house so every extra dime we get is going into the house and we are so busy that “romance” would be few and far between. I tried to get him to go out of town on our anniversary (Dec 31) but work would not allow it. A weekend alone would be just what the doctor ordered. I live in West Alabama and I have never heard about this Bed and Breakfast.

    • Jessicarayburn

Its been several years since we've had a weekend get a way. Being a resident of FL that would be PERFECT. Emma's Bay House is absolutely beautiful and from the looks of it would be PERFECT for US. ;) Never had a honeymoon but coming up on 5 yrs of marriage this would be a great romantic get a way!!

    • dannysangel

My husband & I didn't have the $$ for a honeymoon so we were going to save and go 6 mths after we got married. 2 weeks after we got married my husband suffered 1st degree burns on 1/2 of his legs from dropping a pot of hot grease. Needless to say any $$ we had went for motel rooms and food for me while he was in the burn center having surgery and then any we could have possibly saved after that went for gas for follow up visits. We had “met in the middle” of where we were both living to get married so both of us a new job and no insurance :(

      • dannysangel

My husband does like to say we have “fireproofed” our marriage with all of these events though..

    • Whosaves

It has been a couple of years since my husband and I have gotten away just the two of us for a weekend. We are going to celebrate our tenth anniversary soon and can't afford to do much. We sold our car and I started couponing about 4 months ago to help make ends meet. This past year has been our toughest year in many ways and this would be a wonderful fresh start for the year.

    • Jodi

That place is amazing. It's been about 3 years since we've had a vacation to ourselves. That place would definately bring back the sparks!

    • Heidi

What a lovely bed and breakfast. It's been over fours years for us. We haven't gone anywhere by ourselves since we had our first child. I would love to win this and getaway!

    • Stacey C

My husband and I will have been married for 18 years on January 29th. The last time we went away for any sort of weekend or vacation was when my youngest son turned 4 and he is now 10. This would be a wonderful getaway and MUCH needed rest!!!

    • Lilianburden

I would love to stay it is such a beautiful southern charmer! My husband and I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. we would love to visit you

    • This would be wonderful! The last weekend away with my husband was 5 years ago at Christmas! Life has been busy with two children – this would be a great treat!

    • dp

It has been yesrs, something like 15 years since we went any were. My husband has helth problems, and is able to work, we have been married for 45 years. We try to have our grandchildren over each week end, this is our happy times. We would love a week end alone.

    • My husband and I have never been away by ourselves! We've been married for 4 1/2 years now. We each had a child before getting married, so we weren't even by ourselves for our honeymoon! We now have 2 more children, so 4 total. This would be an awesome trip for us! Thanks!

    • love2save

Wow! Sounds like and incredible relaxing two night stay! Two nights alone would mean a lot of quality time for my husband and I, being that we have a 4 year old and eight month old! Not to mention some good nights rest:) Would love to have the privilege to win the trip and see the amazing scenery:)

    • Prht1960

My husband and I have not been away (alone) since 1992.

    • Tyandbec

It has been a year and half. I love Fairhope and would love to win!

    • Guest

My husband & I have been married for almost 4 years. The last time we went away alone overnight was December of 2007 – we were married in July 2007.

    • Jencherry83

Wow I would love to win love this. Me and my hubby has been married for 8 years . We never went on a honeymoon. I am a stay at home mom of five children. We have never been able to go out of town by ourselves.

    • Scox49

It's been a couple years since my husband and I have gone away alone after raising 4 children, one of whom is still at home (11yrs.). We adopted 3 of our children, all of whom have a special need and we could use some R&R!

    • Anita

My 4 year wedding anniversary is coming up in March. I can't even begin to tell you the last time my husband and I had a weekend away. As a matter of fact, we are still waiting on a honeymoon!! :)

    • Chipnsher

Our last weekend getaway was 5 yrs. ago. Due to illnesses & hospital stays we have been unable to take a trip for the last several yrs. We have always wanted to go to the Mobile area.

    • Jenncampbell

My husband and I got away about a year and a half ago for our 10 year anniversary. Since then he has been a full time seminary student, we have ran our retail business together and he has been serving as a children's minister, so even though it hasn't been that long since we got away, we have been working seven days a week since then and could really use some time away to just relax and reconnect. Thank you for the chance to enter.

    • LB514

Wow that looks like a really nice place; I love the views and the rooms look so comfy. I have always wanted to visit Fairhope. The last time my husband & I have been away together was our honeymoon in May 2007. We love our children dearly but it would be great to get away, alone, for a weekend :)

    • Cschauer

Well my last “weekend away” was the week before last but I got married and had a very short honeymoon. This would make up for “lost honeymoon”. :)

    • Michelleyoung117

My husband was just saying last night that we needed a 2nd honeymoon. We went to a B&B for our honeymoon night back in 1995 but that was the last time we have been away alone. It would be awesome to win this!!!

    • Christie

My husband and I went away about 18 months ago, would be great to “escape” with no kids for a whole weekend!!!

    • Gardnergang

We went to our first B&B in 2010 around our anniversary for just one night. We have four kiddos and it is seldom we get away just the two of us, but we believe it is such a priority, and we've been married 16 yrs. Usually if kids go to stay with grandparents, we can't afford to go somewhere, so we try to make our home a B&B for a night. We'd love to go here!

    • 807426

It's been too long. We had a baby six months ago and three year old twins, so we don't get away often. It has definitely been at least 15 months. We only live 3.5 hours from there so that would be perfect. I love Fairhope!

    • Jenlwood729

Well, I actually just had a weekend getaway this weekend! However, I haven't had a weekend getaway with my husband in a long time. Much needed!

    • Kpeek1

My husband and I married 4 years ago and started trying to have a baby shortly after. After 2 long years, a miscarriage and much money spent on fertility doctors we finally conceived Dec 2009. The pregnancy was going great until the 7th month when I had to have an emergency c-section due to complications. Our little baby boy had to stay in the NICU for 7 weeks. After many uncertainties, prayers and long, long days in the NICU we finally brought him home in Sept. He is doing great but due to him being premature, he can’t go out in public, or be around other kids until May. I had to quit my job to stay home with our baby and my husband took a less paying job so we could move back to Mobile from North Alabama to have family and friends around to help. The few times my husband and I do get to go out together is for grocery shopping or for a get together at my parent’s home. All of our resources and time for the past 3 years have been spent on starting a family and keeping our precious son healthy. We do give all the praise for our son’s health to Jesus. Of course, we would do this all over again if we had to. We desperately need some time for just us and to relax. Our last vacation was our honeymoon in 3/2007. Thank you for this opportunity.

    • Traciisom

Its been way too long. Our youngest is 9 months and our oldest is 6 so probablly at least 3 years ago when we went away for our anniversary.

    • laura

The last weekend I had with my husband and no kids? um, my oldest was born in 2005, so sometime previous to that. And hey, my birthday is the 28th!

    • tanya lee

Me and my hubby haven't had a weekend alone since 2008 and I haven't been to Fairhope since 1994! I'd love to go again

    • Kelly McDaniel

A weekend away with hubby – hmmm… been a while! I can't even remember. Certainly would make a nice valentine/birthday/anniversary gift!

    • Olisa56

I would love to have a weekend with my husband The last weekend away at all was back in 2003. Lets just say it was way before the recession hit the construction industry…thats for sure.

    • Megan G

This place looks amazing! My husband and I haven't officially had a weekend away since eloping last year in Vegas. We never had a real honeymoon and with a baby on the way now our alone time is dwindling, haha! I would love to win a weekend away at Emma's Bay House.

    • blessedmelody

My husband and I enjoyed a night away (work trip for him) in December before the holidays. It just so happened that my grandmother passed away that week and so after taking our 3 yr old and 1 yr old on a 10+ hour road trip where my husband preached the funeral, the work trip/ one night getaway was great timing! By the way, it was my Dad's mom who passed, and he happens to live in AL, so this weekend getaway would be encouraging for he and my Mom.

    • Spraudk

Our last getaway was on our anniversary last October for one evening. This would be a wonderful treat!

    • karl

Cyndi and I do not “get away” for weekends or rarely any other time for that matter. I am a pastor so weekends “away” are few and far between. we have three awesome children and they tend to occupy our time. we were blessed to get away last summer for our 25th wedding anniversary. what a great time! other than that we haven't done a “get away” in years. in fact we have never visited a bed and breakfast. that would be a privilege.

    • pw2000

I can't remember the last time I got away for the weekend. It may be Labor Day weekend. I took my daughter to visit a friend. We never get to go on nice vacations.

    • Jennmckay4

My husband is in graduate school in Birmingham and we have a three-year-old and a 7 month old. It's been a few years since we've had a get away and it would be wonderful!

    • Sunny

We haven't had a weekend trip alone together since our super-frugal honeymoon to Texas nearly 6 years ago. We cut out any extra trips to put that money toward paying for our way-too-expensive infertility treatments. It would be so nice to get this little getaway to leave all our cares behind for a weekend, and we're just in Birmingham so we could definitely make this work! Please, Jenny, pick us!!! *fingers crossed*

    • Karenrayjones

I am already packed!! Can't remember a get away so it must be long, long, ago!
Love the colors on the web site-already relaxing.

    • Smurf

I'd actaully like to win this weekend for my Mother -in Law and Father In-Law. My family doesn't live close by so I feel like I'm always counting on them when we need an extra hand with the kids or with some repair on our house or car. They never complain about taking one of the kids into the doctors or driving them to the dentist appt while my hisband and I are at work. They would really apprcaite this because they are on a very tight budget since they are both retired. I always wish I could do more to show hoe much we appreciate them and maybe this could be a way! Thanks for the consideration.

    • Amber

We haven't had a weekend getaway since our first anniversary. Last year, we really wanted to just be able to get away…even if it was only for a weekend, but my grandparents fell ill and our home had to have some major remodels so a trip was out of the question. I would love to win this giveaway! Would be really great to go somewhere different if only for a few days!!

    • Jmanley521

September 2009. It wasnt technically a getawat because my husband was working at a conference. But it was the first time that he and I were alone for more than a day without the kids. And we were able to go out to dinner every night. But as far as a true, non-working getaway? We didn't even go on a honeymoon. So, never?

      • Jmanley521

And, I was 6 months pregnant, too!! So technically we weren't “alone.”

    • Lindseywilder

AHHH!! This brings back great memories of Mobile Bay! I grew up there, but live in TN now. We actually just went away in Jan. for our 5 yr. anniversary, which was our first getaway together ever! (Not including our honeymoon) This would be great…we could drop the kids off with my parents in Mobile & head to Fairhope!!!

We haven't had a weekend getaway since before I got pregnant. Our son is now 8 months old. I'd be happy to drop him with my parents for a getaway!

Since our honeymoon, we have been on “vacations” that centered around my husbands work conferences. Now that we have a little one, it is even difficult to get away for those! Emma's Bay House looks beautiful!

At least two years. My boyfriend and I don't live too far away and are in hard financial times….we could really use a break, even though it's less than an hour away. It looks absolutely lovely there.

It's been several years since we've been away but I would love to give this to my in-laws! They deserve it.

My husband have not went on an overnight trip since our honeymoon. It's hard to take off when you are just starting out in the first years of marriage, but we still try to have some special times together.

Would love to have the opportunity for the getaway with my spouse of 37 years!

    • Pamela

My husband & I would love to win this one! We have been married for over 20 years and never had a weekend away or a vacation without our now grown kids.

    • Christina

It has been about six years or so. Me and my husband have been married twice (to each other) and we never had the money for a honeymoon. So this would be great.

Other than my honeymoon (11 years ago) I don't remember any time alone with just my husband.

    • LindaAnne

Our last weekend away was in August of 2004 for our 25th anniversary.

    • Lrae17

Wow. I can't remember right now. It seems like we've done so much traveling to visit family and friends that I can't remember the last time it was just us.

My husband and I had a weekend away from our five children in December….but the day we left, I got sick with a nasty cold…..so we didn't have a good time. It was pitiful…he couldn't sleep for me coughing!!! Emma's Bay House looks absolutely beautiful and relaxing!!!

If you are asking about when is the last time we got away and you're referring to no kids, we have never had that opportunity. However, the last time that we got away with the kids was Thanksgiving weekend.

My husband and I are somewhat newlyweds. We have been married 1 1/2 years and our last getaway was on our honeymoon 1 1/2 years ago.

    • Melanie Fuller

Wow, without our 4 sons…I can't remember our last getaway. Probably a couple of years ago when my husband had a convention for work down in Ft. Lauderdale and I flew down with him for the weekend.

Emma's BayHouse B&B is gorgeous!!! We just celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary on 8/31/10 with a 3 day cruise to nassau. Before that it had been a while with our 4 daughters. Would love this getaway with my wonderful hubby, Kenny!!!

    • Hillery

      What a gorgeous B&B!
The last time my husband and I had a weekend getaway just the 2 of us was 5 years ago, I was on a fall break from college and he took me to Atlanta for a night and it was amazing…unfortunately we havent been able to do anything like that for awhile due to work and household obligation. We are expecting our first child (a boy!) in April and probably wont be able to go anywhere for awhile. Congrats to whoever wins this luxurious trip!

My wife and I need a get-away terribly! We just moved and we have toddlers that take much of our time and energy. I think our last getaway was about 4 years ago.

    • Sonja

I would actually like to win this for my parents. Mom found out in September that she had cancer in her kidney. It has been a rough couple of months and I know they could use a couple days away. It has been August 3 (their anniversary) since they have “gotten away”. ;0)

Our last weekend away alone was for our 10th anniversary (actually that wasn't a weekend but 2 days in the middle of the week) and before that it was our honeymoon.

    • Shaduna

Emma's Bay House B&B is beautiful! I'd love to take a getaway their with my husband. We have a one year old and work opposite schedules that he can be at home with us. So….he takes his days off on Tuesday and Thursdays while I work and then works all weekend while I'm home. So…we don't get much time together! Our last getaway together was while I was pregnant.

    • It has been too too long to remember since my wife and I went away together. I think it would be our own honeymoon 4 and a half years ago. We must get away more!
