I love that it says kid's cereals. My husband lives off of Fruit Loops! Also, how annoying is it that they don't give prices in their add? I know it's because the stores have different prices even in the same city (mine do on some things even only 1 mile apart from each other!), but still I hate that. I think all the sale items in the same region should be the same price so they could put it in the ad and help us prepare! Just my 2 cents.

      • Wmllewis

I agree about the annoyance with them not listing prices. Bi-Lo ads show “up to” prices and list their highest average price. At least it gives you a general idea!

    • Guest

Is the General Mill promotion $10 before coupons or after?

      • mommalana

    • Cinderelligirl

on the deal idea for dove, where would you get 4 more .75 dove coupons? only one came last sunday. I looked all over their site and can't find any! please help, anyone.

      • Tiffany

You would have to have 4 more inserts or order more on ebay or from a coupon clipping service.

      • Ashleyw81

The papers for 10/3 are still available at the store. I buy anywhere from 2 to 5 papers per week depending on what coupons are in them that week. That way I usually have multiples of coupons that I need. Or you can always ask family, friends, neighbors, etc. for their inserts.

        • Cindy

same here – I get one Sun paper delivered and then I usually buy one on Sat to use toward any Sat evening CVS deals and at least 2 more on Sunday (usually the double coupon bundle for $3 at Publix), depending on the coupons in them. I've been thinking about just signing up for 2-3 to be delivered.

Wish we could just buy the coupon inserts – I don't like to waste the rest of the paper each week.

          • Misspure1coupons

Here’s the link with the info to order inserts only

          • Leah

you could always order the inserts from a website like http://www.wholecouponinserts.com. We actually have a group of couponers at my office that go together every week to buy their bulk pack.

          • Susan

If you have assisted living or a nursing home nearby you could always see if they would take them for the residents. They would probably appreciate it.

      • itismedia

I have two Sunday papers delivered every Sunday. In my area it is cheaper than buying them at the store and I can read them while enjoying my coffee in my PJ's! I know someone that has 4 delivered and someone that has 8!!! delivered.

      • happymom

I only buy one paper each week, but when I began couponing and frequenting this site I noticed a lot of people buy several. It's how people are able to stockpile and take advantage of really good sales. I can't afford to spend more than a few dollars on the paper every Sunday, so I got up my nerve and started asking neighbors and family if I could have their inserts when they're done with them To my amazement a few people didn't even glance at the ads and coupons, so they drop them by or I pick them up sometime during the week. I now usually have 4-5 copies each week. It never hurts to ask!

    • Cindy

Has anyone seen a Food Lion “Recipes for Less” booklet at their Food Lion lately or am I way too late to go looking for one?

      • Beth

No, and I asked about them on my most recent trip to my FL store. They said they always don't get the booklets. I don't understand why FL corporate skips over some of the stores when sending the books, but apparently they do. Thanks for the reminder – I should write a note to them concerning this and letting them know how much I appreciate those coupons.

    • itismedia

I just left FL to use my last two 5.00 off 5 Kraft cheeses. I had used two from earlier in the week, but my friend had printed two and decided she wasn't going to use them and gave them to me (Score!). Anyway, I told the cashier that she was going to need a manager to turn the key, because I had two 5.00 coupons that would require approval. She called and rang up my order, the grocery manager was there before she was done and he looked at the coupons and asked me where I got them. I explained (luckily one of my 10 bags had the advertisment from Kraft on it). He wouldn't approve them and called the store manager. Long story short, I had to explain where I got them again. He then told me they were not “real” coupons that real coupons were glossy like from a magazine. He said he had just been to a meeting and they had learned all about fake coupons. I have been couponing for a LONG time, so I told him all about printables, watermarks, borders, paper vs printable, printable limits…..it became obvious after awhile that I knew way more about coupons than he did (I was super sweet the whole time in my “teacher” mode) and he took them. It is funny, but it also irks me that the bad apples made me look bad (in the beginning). I love coupons and appreciate all the money I can save my family with them. I also appreciate how well we eat because of them. I mean 10 pkgs shredded cheese, 3lbs ground chuck, 2 pds baby carrots, celery, 1 dozen eggs for 14.00. Whats not to appreciate? I would never take advantage over what they currently do for me. The greedy-greedys should be grateful too!

      • Beth

I know what you mean. Last night, for the first time, I was accused of double dipping on coupons because I used a B1G1 FREE coupon with a $1/1 coupon for the Glade. I tried to explain the LOGIC behind being able to use both. I think the manager finally understood what I was saying because then he acted like he was doing me a BIG FAVOR by taking my coupons, “Well, we'll do it for you this time…” You can't tell me any manager is going to lose his store money out of the goodness of his heart. I just wish he had the courage to say, “Hey, I get what you're saying now. Thanks for explaining it to me,” and admitting that he made an error in accusing me of what he called “double dipping.”

Sad, because this was just after I sent FL corporate a letter about how friendly and knowledgable the associates were at this specific FL store. I'm glad I didn't name him as one of the specific employees I noted in the letter.

        • itismedia

I wonder if they had a corporate wide coupon education meeting. If they did, whoever ran it didn't know that much about coupons. Maybe we should offer. (Tongue in cheek) =+)

      • Kristen

I also used the $5/5 Kraft coupons today and before the cashier would accept it, she ran to the CS desk and called the manager. She said they had received and email this morning and they weren't taking a lot of printable coupons because people were copying them and making up coupons. I guess $5 off is over a corporate limit?
She took them but I got a raincheck on some of the cheese they were out of. I hope they will still take them once they get the item stocked!

        • itismedia

There is no reason why they shouldn't hang onto one of the peelies on the package, just in case. It explains that you go to the website to print the coupon. They really should have been more educated when educating the managers. I think they have scared them all silly.

          • DonnaChas

If you have a phone that is able to connect to the internet, you could show them the coupon :) LOL….but you're right they are so scared because greedies have messed it up for the rest of us.

          • amy

I actually had the peelie in my hand and they still treated me like I was a criminal, I called the customer service number just to get some clarity. The rep said that you store would get in contact with me and they never did. To make things more annoying I returned the cheese and she still charged me for one of them and I didn't even get the cheese. Food Lion experiences are 50/50 some people are over the top great but some are totally horrible….Oh yeah I've had things ring up the wrong price on several occasions so be carefull!

      • I used 2 of these coupons yesterday. My cashiers (one was relieving the other) were both very impressed. They did not have to get anyone's approval. I peeled one of the stickers off of a package and gave to one of them because she asked me where I got them. She wanted them too, before the sale went off. I hope she got them.

        • itismedia

At my Fl any coupon 2.00 or more requires a manager's approval. The first two I used (I printed 2 and a friend gave me her two), I was rung up my a manager and everything went smoothly. She even commented that she had seen A LOT of the 5.00/5 coupons. It was my second trip that everything went downhill. I don't mind having to have manager's approval and I hate that people fabricate and copy coupons, I just wish when they “educated” everyone that they had actually educated them correctly.

      • Barbara

I had a questeionable coupon experience at my local FL the other day so I wrote corporate on the internet and have the letter printed off to show to the store manager and the employee who has made himself the official coupon police officer, whether he is checking you out or not. I was using a manufacturer's coupon put out by Target. He said they don't take those because they are store coupons. I tried to explain to him how they were manufacturer's coupons and his store would still get their reimbursement for it. He said he's worked there 10 yrs and it was a store coupon and they weren't to take it. When I wrote corporate I asked if they did and told them I didn't see why they wouldn't take them since they are manufacturer's coupons. Here's the reply I got…

“Our company will gladly accept manufacturer, store, internet and Catalina coupons, provided they scan in our register system. We will however, decline internet coupons offering a free product, a coupon that has a higher dollar amount than the value of the product, a competitors' coupon, or if the coupon appears to be fraudulently generated, copied, or reproduced. In addition, we will only accept one coupon per item. I hope you find this information beneficial. Please feel free to speak to the store manager with any concerns you have.”

I think the key phrase is “provided they will scan into our system.”

      • tmmb04

I hate that for you. I was skeptical about shopping at FL because of coupon issues like this one, but I couldn't pass up last weeks deals so I gave it a shot. I got 5 Kraft items, 2 boxes of Capri Sun, 4 boxes of Ronzoni pasta, 2 boxes of Ritz crackers, 2 bottles of Smucker's jelly, and 2 jars of Jif pb for $16. I was worried that they wouldn't take my coupons, but I had no problem with anything scanning. I had more than one internet coupon as well. I think the cashier might have been a manager. She even commented on how she wanted the Kraft coupon and that I did pretty good. It was icing on the cake when she and the other employee who bagged my groceries went on and on about my son. They were as nice as can be and were willing to help me in any way. It was the FL in Trenton, GA. I will continue to shop there.

    • 129hutch

Is anyone doing the $15 “Free Turkey” promo? If so, do you know if the $45 per visit you are supposed to spend each visit is before of after coupons?

      • itismedia

Everything like that is before coupons. I got my firs one the other day and only paid 20 something for my groceries after coupons.

        • 129hutch

Thanks- good to know. I was worried last week that I hadn't spent enough but I still came in at $48 and got my credit.

      • CONNIE

        • 129hutch

So if it says I'll get a “$15 coupon” after I get my 6 credits I assumed I could use the coupon for anything. Am I wrong- does it have to be a turkey. Sorry I'm so ignorant- I've never done this before :)

          • Crafty_cat_86

Yeah, it's a $15 coupon for anything. I shop at food lion pretty much exclusively, so I enrolled, but I'm not going to be adding things to get to $45. I got a credit and spent $25 dollars out of pocket, so I'm assuming it's before q's.

    • 12north

Tried to use the $5 off coupon on B1G1 cheese and the cashier wouldn't let me. She went to the manager. They had a corporate email that said that they were no longer allowed to take them on B1G1 free items. Don't they have to accept a Manufacturer's coupon?

      • itismedia

I am pretty sure that they can refuse anything. For example some stores will not accept printable coupons that offer something free. Did they say they couldn't take the 5.00 off 5 on the BOGO cheese or no coupons at all if the item was BOGO?

        • Cattyjenny

I used 2 of those kraft 5/5 Qs on Friday and the cashier had to call the manager over. She overrided the system to get the coupons to go through.

          • Chazree

I also used 3 of those $5 off coupons on Monday at Food Lion. I got lucky with the manager being the one to check me out and she over road the computer to let it accept all my coupons. That along with some of the instant money savers I spent only $21 and saving $62! Wish all my shopping trips were that great!

            • Amandajeanburke

I used them at a FL here in NC, and not only did she let me use the coupons, but after using the $1 off my transaction coupon that I had from the q kiosk, she owed me .22, and she GAVE it to me!

        • 12North

They said they couldn't take the B1G1 Free off of the cheese. They said b/c then it essentially free. And to that I said, yes that is why I came. ha!

@ Guest – and you are right, it's funny that they refused a coupon that is advertised in their store.

Thanks for the advice all. I may just have to contact their CHQ to clarify.

          • itismedia

This would all be funny if it wasn't so crazy! You can't use coupons, it would make too good of a deal! ha ha Please let me know what corp. says.

Stores have the right to turn down coupons – but if you feel they did so unfairly, you could always try contacting corporate yourself to ask if they handled the 'situation' correctly (which really isn't a 'situation' at all – since they have the $5 coupon ADVERTISED on the cheese that they're selling in the store).

I had a similar issue with a Food Lion where I live in NC…I called Food Lion CHQ and they said that they do not take a coupon that is free but they do accept B1G1 free coupons…CHQ went back and educated the assistant mgr and cashier in my situation…my advice is to call CHQ because it sounds like there is a communication issue there

Is this a good price on Dove bar soap or should I go to a drugstore? I've been using Cetaphil but it's soooooooooo expensive ($2.96/bar). I'm trying to find something that is anti-bacterial, doesn't dry your skin and most of all is cheaper. I figured I'd try Dove unless somebody else has a recommendation on another product.

      • 129hutch

I love Dove, and I think this is a good deal, esp. when you get $3 off Dove promo plus the $2 off manu. coupon. Yoday I got the 6 pack of soap plus 3 deodorants. Total was $11.99- $3 promo- $2 coupon which came out to $1.75 per item.

          Thanks, good to know.

Jenny, do you have a copy of the Food LIon coupon policy? My store is now saying that FL does not accept man. coupons plus store coupons. I called the customer service number and she said the same thing “because it says 'one coupon per item'”. I really would like to get to the bottom of this.

      • Steve

look here: http://www.foodlion.com/content/docs/couponAcceptancePolicy.pdf. I doesn’t appear that you can ‘stack’ at FL.

        • Crafty_cat_86

Huh, I stacked 2 q's on Hebrew nationals last week and neither the register nor the cashier said anything to the contrary…

          • Beth

I've had cashiers encourage me to stack when I missed a coupon that was included in their book. They literally got a book for me, showed me the coupon, cut it out, and applied it to my order.

For those of you in VA check your local advertisement. Where Jenny has General mills special listed for us there are extra items along with those for the 3 off of $10 order. Some of the extras are Muller's pasta, beef patties, Dial soap, Special K cereal and bars.

So am I figureing this right ??/ GM cereal is on sale for 2.00 per box and if you buy 5 boxes (10.00) total you get 3.00 off making it 7.00 … Then if I use the printable coupons on cheerios (75 off ) 1 box and I buy 2 of them then I use cinnamon toast crunh printanle coupon (55 off 1 which is doubled to 1.10 off) and I buy 3 of those for a total of 5 boxes and 10.00 the 5 boxes of cereal will cost me $1.60 … Is this right ??? If so what a deal !!! I ahve enough coupons to buy 2 deals for a total of 10 boxes of cereal for $3.10 That is if I have done my math right . Please tell me if I am doing it right or wrong .

Food Lion doesn't double coupons. At least the ones local to here do not.

        • Mark267

My food lion here in Georgia does double up to 60 cents where Kroger and Publix only double to 50 cents

        • itismedia

They are testing it in the Atlanta, GA area. I am in Savannah, GA and they don't double here…they are the ONLY grocery store that doesn't double here. I hope it catches on and we all get doubles soon!

      • itismedia

haha we all discussed FL and double coupons, but no one answered your question! Assuming your FL will double .55 coupons (All my stores that do double will only double to .50, but my FL does not double and looked at me funny when I told them they were testing it out in Atlanta) here is what I am coming up with from your post

        3 boxes Cinnamon Toast Crunch 6.00 (2.00×3)

        2 boxes Cheerios 2.00 (2.00×2)

        Total = 10.00

        – 3.00 instantly for buying 10.00 worth

        – 1.50 (2x.75/1 Cheerios)

        – 3.30 (3×55/1 doubled Cin.T.Crunch

= I come up will 2.20 so even less (if I understood your post correctly)

If for some reason your FL does not double that will add 1.65 to your total, but it would still be 3.85 for 5 boxes.

      • Crafty_cat_86

Beware: The .75/1 Cheerios q doesn't list original or multigrain cheerios, so bring a back up.

I just wanted to say I used the 5 for 5 coupon before the sale went off at Food Lion. I had no problems and I wanted to tell you since it says a certain size or larger go for the larger. I looked at the Velveta and the smaller one was like $3.99 and the larger one was $5.99. SInce it didn't have a max, I took up the 2 larger ones. I had a total of 10 items with 2 coupons and it included the b1g1 deals. I had the clerk check these out first thing to make sure it would take them and it was no problem…so my $5.99 cheese turned out to be a buck….wish I could print some more :-)….

    • Crafty_cat_86

If you buy 5 boxes of GM cereal and use a couple q's that take $.50 off each (like a $1.50/3 and a $1.00/2), you'd end up getting them for $.90 each, which is the best deal I've seen so far… I used some higher value q's and got them for $.85 each. Score!

      • Crafty_cat_86

also, the Trop50 q won't work for the special b/c the special is for the big jugs of juice, plus, you can only get the free eggs once…

    • Reallyjennifer

I'm hoping the Toaster Strudels are included in the GM promotion. Does anyone know which items are included in the promo?

    • guest

My local Food Lion sees me at least once a week. The manager, cashiers, etc. all know me and are always very friendly. I have never had a coupon problem there. If one doesn't scan, someone over rides the system after carefully checking the coupon and product. Sometimes I have inadvertantly gotten the wrong size or product (on a hectic day for me) but I try to always be very careful about dates, and correctly stacking. I don't always use lots of coupons, because when I compare brand name prices to the quality FL brand products, it's cheaper to buy the FL brand than to buy the name brand using the coupon.

    • Couponmom73

Just left FL and they have $1 off 12packs of 7-Up, Cherry 7-Up, Sunkist, and AW Rootbeer. They are on sale for 2.99. Also have .55 off 2-liters of the same products that are 1.25.

The $3/10 General Mills promotion is awesome! It is $3 off if you spend $10 BEFORE coupons and store sales. I bought 3 boxes of Multigrain Cheerios today ($2 each), used 3 $.75/1 coupons and my total was $.91!! When I looked at my receipt, it had a $3 off for the GM promotion. I paid $.25/box… and these are the biggest boxes…. not the smaller size. I imagine it would work the same for the other GM cereals.

    • I did good last week at FL. $106 dollars worth of stuff for $36.

    • Faithtondee

can i buy 20 cans of soup and 6 dollars come off? or is it limit one per transaction?

    • Aashby11

I got 4 boxes of cereal and because they scanned everything before my manuf coupons (2x$1.00/2) and one store coupon for .50 off store purhcase….then scanned by MVP card last, it gave the $3.00 off as well. I guess the total value of the cereal before the MVP sale price was more than $10.00 so I got the $3.00 off! I was surprised. 4 boxes of cereal (3 cheerios and 1 multi-grain cheerio) = $2.50 total or .63 cents per box.

If you go to nestle.com, you can get a $1.25 off 1 Nesquik container.
