    • Lynn

I was curious to know what your grocery budget is and how many people it is for. Mine is $200 a month for 4 people.

    • Jenny

Our budget is $240 a month for 5 people, though this is all groceries, personal care and household items together.

    • Julieann

Not a lot to be excited about this week at Food Lion :o(

Guess I should be glad I made out like a bandit at Kroger these last 2 weeks!!! $150 in groceries that we actually use for $30!

    • paige

hefty plates an some ketchup wahoo.’
      thanks jeeny

    • Amanda

How do you feed so many for so little? We are a family of 6 and I spend around $500 a month. Usually $150-$200 is for meat. I do all the deals and coupons…it is very rare for me to buy something that is not on sale. Whenever I leave the stores I am saving 50%-75%. Am I missing something?

    • Debbie

      Hey Jenny,

They just built a brand new FL near us, so this is great!

The Hunts looks like a great deal, as do the crackers, hot dogs, and grapes!

    • Lynn

Thanks every1 for posting your grocery budget. Jenny my budget includes all that yours does. So I guess I’m not doing to bad my highest percentage is only 69% but that’s so much better than I have been doing. I was shopping at Aldi’s, Dollar General Market,Walmart, CVS and Walgreens. I’ve been doing the CVS & Walgreens for a while now and it has help but it wasn’t until I found your site that I began saving at the grocery stores. So now I almost never visit Aldi’s, DGM or Walmart. I stick with BiLo, Food Lion and Kroger mostly. I will go to Publixs but its no on my grocery route so if I’m in that area I’ll pick up those deals. Thank you soooo much for all the hard work you put into this great site!!!!

    • Mary

I’m interested too in your in’s and out’s of saving $$.

I mean I coupon too and feel like I’m getting better at it but I still don’t see myself walking into Pulbix and getting 15 grocery bags full for $5.00. Your site has helped me put it all together and I am saving more than I ever have .

I guess I realize too that what is allowed at each store is different.
So not all savings plans are EQUAL, LOL.

Thank you for your hardwork and know that every pearl of wisdom passed our way is appreciated…

    • Jennifer C.

I went into F.L. yesterday to get some bogo ketchup and snag a few more Kraft 2% cheese coupons (to use on the Kroger deal)and I noticed that their Kraft 2% Mexican and Mild shredded cheese was reduced to $1.69 and beside it was a tearpad for $1.00 off any Kraft shredded cheese (Food Lion Q). I bought 10 bags for 6.69. This is a better deal than the .74 cents that it ends up being a Kroger, especially if you have a long drive to Kroger like me. Shredded cheese freezes great, hopefully your F.L. is running the same deal.

    • Tiffany

It says at the top that you have to buy two to get the deal on B1G1. I have been buying the Hunts one at a time with the coupon for $1 off. I always get it at half price. With the coupon that give me an overage of 14 cents. Maybe each store is different, but ours doesn’t require you to buy two to get the deal. Just a note.

    • Dawn

I agree with Tiffany……I shop at 2 different Food Lions in our area and always get the BOGO item half price if I get one. I have never had a problem in years of doing this.

    • paige

At my store hefty cups are bogo For $1 I used the $1 off FLIP and got them free!!

    • Sara

I’m stock piling and couponing and rebating. My grocery bill for 6 people is about $200-250 per month.

But I have a year or more supply of all of the following so I don’t have to purchase that when it is not on sale:
Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Shampoo, mouthwash, toothpaste, razors, deo, maxis, makeup, baby wipes, all medicines we use, toothbrushes, batteries, soap, shave gel, tampons, all cleaning supplies including laundry soap, electrasol and whatever else we use, can’t think of it all.

      Food items I have stockpiled:
Probably 100 boxes of Rice A roni, ? boxes of Betty Crocker potatoes, 100 frozen veggies, 25 pizzas, and my freezer is about full. Peanut Butter, Canned pancake mix, canned biscuit mix, canned milk powder, 2 cases of soup, 1 case of evaporated milk…..I know there is more just can’t think of it all.

So in essence, my grocery bill is: Meat, oil, butter, coffee, whatever spices I need, and whatever I find on sale that I can add to the stockpiles! We get Wic, so that pays for Milk, Juice, eggs, cheese etc.

TO ALL READING: Consider setting up a stockpile. It is a money SAVER!
Only buy items when they are free or dirt cheap. You will be surprised how fast your pile will grow. I have only been doing this for about 3-4 months and I have all of the above!

    • Caroline

Not to sound stupid but what happens when you have an overage? Do they just call it even?

    • Jenny

It counts as money off the rest of your purchase. They will not hand you cash and they won’t leave it as owing you money. If you are in that boat ever just grab something small to bring your total back into you paying a little bit.
