These deals start Wednesday 12/9 at Food Lion.  There are a few good deals this week, they have many house brand products on sale, which isn’t so great for couponers.  The 3 day Breakfast sale makes me excited though.  I think it also makes me want breakfast for dinner tonight!

1. Check with your local store about B1G1 items. Ask “Are you required to buy 2, or will they each ring up at half price?”
2. Most Food Lion stores do not double coupons.
3. If you do a B1G1 deal, use 2 coupons if they will let you.
4.  There are regional variations in all ads, so check your ad for any small price changes.

If you are new to Southern Savers read up on what all  this means.

    • I cannot find the Mrs. Smith’s pie coupon? Has anybody else been able to? Thank you Jenny for all that you do!!! I am sooooo grateful each and everyday for learning through your site! Your the best!

      • Jenni

If you are looking for the Mrs. Smith’s pie $1 store coupon, it expired on December 1st.

    • Amy

I can’t find the Sara Lee and the Tennessee Pride coupons…has anyone else found them?

      • Jenny

For the Tennessee pride I used 30003 I think.

      • Dana

I missed the coupon a couple times because it says Odom’s Tennessee. It is on page three of RP with zipcode 29445.

      • Amy

I couldn’t find it with either of those zip codes.

    • Amanda

Not sure if this is regional…but in Jacksonville, FL, the Food Lions are running a promo with the McCormick spices – buy 2 get $1 off your next shopping order and it goes up from their depending on how many spices you buy in a single transaction. (actually, its any McCormick product – I bought two Vanillas and got $1.00 off.)

Thanks Jenny for all your info. I loved going last weekend to FL 3 day sale – Those Huggies Organic Cotton diapers were an awesome deal!!! Now I have diapers for the next few weeks until another big stock up sale. :)

    • Amy

I cannot find the Bush’s coupon. Did you use a certain zip code?

      • Tanya

    • Jennifer

Just left the grand opening at Lawrenceville/Suwanee Rd. (Lawrenceville, GA) Location. They are giving out flowers, free samples all over the store, and a bag at the front of free stuff inside like coke, foil, forks, gallon size bags, and cereal!!

    • Kate

mvp members text to 467467 NESTLE then do it with the word COFFEE and then with the word FREE7UP and Food Lion will send you coupons for each to get them free. It is Folger’s Gourmet coffee and Nestle choc. chips. It was in my RP Wednesday circular. Have your MVP card number ready

      • Debra

        The number is blocked 12/11/09

        • AKelly

My Tracfone said I couldn’t do this either. So I called Tracfone Customer Service, and they reset my phone to accept these types of incoming text messages. It worked like a charm after that. You might try calling your cellphone provider.

    • Laura

its through shoptext you dont need your mvp card i couldnt find my keys so i replied no and all i had to do was verify my addy and theyll be sending it soon

    • cynthia

does anybody no where you can print the $5.00 off $30.00 coupon for food lion, when i go to the sight it says the page has expired????? thanks

    • Rose

its friday a.m. gettin ready to head out to foodlion. noticed my 1Q for folgers expired on the 6th this week, errrr. looking for one online.

    • Laura

I got the free razor and then found a coupon inside for $3.00 off the cartridges. They are also on sale for $2.50!

      • Laura

Also, when I went back to get the free cartridges, I saw that the 3 lb bags of clementines were on sale for $1.99. I used the $1 coupon and got the whole bag for .99 cents! And then while checking out, I found the “Keep the Jingle in your Holidays” booklet up at the register — I’ve been looking forever at my local Publix and they never had them. This may be the best couple of trips to Food Lion I’ve had in quite a while. I even got overage on the razors and cartridges, which I wasn’t expecting. The teenage boy checking me out was envious of my razor deal :)

    • Natalie

Tried to get 2 free razors, but the register system wouldn’t accept because the coupon was for $3 off and they rang up only at $2.50. I had plenty of other items, so I thought the overage would be fine. Any suggestions how to get around this?

Yesterday, my local store, Ukrops, wouldn’t take a Target man. Q because it had a Target logo! So frustrating! Whenever I have a “situation” like these, I feel like I’m being judged as a greedy theft.

      • tina

I was able to buy the two razors and $6 worth of produce(Used 2 razor Qs and $2off produce Q)with no problems. Nothing beeped. I guess each store computer system is different.

        • Natalie

Thanks. Maybe I’ll try another Food Lion.

    • Monique

I tried to use the $1 dollar coupon for the water and they wouldnt accept it. The cashier tried scanning and keying in the barcode. It said the coupon couldnt be found. Anybody having this problem or am I doing something wrong. I printed it from the link provided for the PDF.

    • nina

just a friendly reminder to pay attention to what you pay and what your prices are supposed to be!! I did a very detailed list this morning for the 8am sale with the toaster strudels and cheese and tonys pizza and I came across some dawn dish soap and popcycles well I did have my 2yr old with me so I couldnt watch each item but at the end after coupons and everything it came to 12.64 I paid it but I was like whoa wait a min. I stoped dead in my tracks and counted everything cause I knew how much everything was supposed to be and it was 4 dollars off. I went back and told the lady she was NOT happy and I could tell she was very angry as she was shaking. I just simple said it wasn’t right and I wanted to redo the whole order because the reciept was confusing and made no sense!! it said poptarts on it and I did not even get poptarts!!! well anyways to make a long story short the manager guy had to come over and help us figure it out ( the cashier ended up leaving as she was mad lol ) but come to find out the problem was with the toaster strudels it never took off the discounts on it and in fact it added 50 cents!!!! The manager gave me back my money and I of course went and bought 4 more boxes haha But he gave me a 12 pack of coke for free for my trouble which was really nice!! and as for myself.. I am so totally proud of myself for catching it!!!!! I usually would have just walked away and said it was my fault I must not have done it right.. but dangit this time I was RIGHT! ha! =) anyways just remember to pay attention and ALWAYS check your reciepts!!! =)

      • Amy

I alwasy check my receipts at Food Lion…undoubtedly I always pick up the wrong item that is on sale(shrimp for instance). It is in the wrong spot. Have caught that twice.

    • Tanya

I am not surprised about your story about being overcharged. FL does this to me on a regular basis. At least once a month. I check my reciept over with a fine tooth comb before I even head out to the car. I have mentioned this to them that they over charge frequently and I am sure that there are many people who do not even look at their reciepts, therefore they are cheating people out of money!!! If this is done nation wide they could be making millions.

      • kelli

I’m sorry to hear that there are people getting overcharged but I just wanted to mention that I’ve never been over charged at Food Lion. My store it always super nice and friendly. The one time that I did forget to scan my MVP card before paying, they person at customer service was more than happy to go through all of my items and give me back the money I should’ve saved.

    • Pamela

Can you use the $3 off of a $10 deli purchase on the bogo deli ham too??? I was wondering if anyone tried it. I figured that if it is bogo and you buy 4 lbs of it, it should come out to about 11.00. Then if you use the $3/10 Q, it would come out to $8.00 for 4 lbs.

      • Tanya

Yes. I did it and it works. You will need 2 lbs of meat. They use the price BEFORE they MVP savings. If you get 1.9 lbs of meat it will work just fine.

        • Tanya

Cheap deli meat with either the recent $1/$3 Deli or the old $3/$10 Deli FLIP.
I was getting worried that I wouldn’t get to use the $3/$10 before it would expire 12/31…

Here are the details – obviously it is not very sensible to ask for these amounts, but you can see how it works. Just ask for a more rounded number and get a filler:

Fresh Deli Virginia Baked or Honey Ham BOGO (regular price 5.49/lb)
3.01 (.55 pound – just ask Deli person to give you a hair over 1/2 pound)
          -1.50 MVP
          -1.00 FLIP ($1/$3 Deli Purchase)
          =..51/half pound

          10.00 (1.83 lb)
          -5.00 MVP
          -3.00 FLIP ($3/$10 Deli FLIP)
          =2.00/2 lb

          (taken from HCW)

    • kelli

the poptart coupon is for 12 count or larger. The sale is for 8 count.

    • SUSAN

I think, unless I am not using the correct zip code, the IP coupons.com took down three printables that just seemed to be up. Hope you can help. I was hoping to find these again.

Keebler wheatables crackers 1.50/1 exp: 2/28/10

      Special K crackers 1.00/1 exp: 2/28/10

      Kellogs All-bran Crackers 1.50/1 exp: 2/28/10

    • Lynn

I always have such a problem at my FL. I think it’s just the one cashier who always works in the morning. This morning only one of my FLIP’s worked and she wasn’t going to take the others. I had to point out that I had purchased the correct item/amount and then a manager had to come over. I don’t see how it’s worth the hassle, when just a block down the road is a Publix that takes everything, including FLIPS without blinking.

    • Patti

My Food Lion would not accept the coupon mentioned this week for Bush’s Beans. It is a manufacturer’s coupon, but since it was printed from target.com, they would not accept it. Is this typical of Food Lion?
