thanks for all you do jenny..i do have to say though…my local food lion has really left a bad taste in my mouth and i am really considering not shopping there anymore…each time i go they make an error on my bill….seriously…EVERY TIME. is anyone else having this problem?

      • Heather

yes! my food lion won't let me use a manufacturer coupon and a store coupon and corporate backed them up when I complained. they also accused me of using counterfeit coupons i.e. the one for free tropicana OJ (the one where you collect points to EARN this item)and this was sent to me from the company. food lion is whack! thanks for letting me vent :)

        • kcreviews

I have had a few problems, too, but when the manager comes in, she always makes it right–very nice. And they will let me use a FL and manu q.

        • meghanld

I had the same problem as you Heather with that tropicana OJ coupon when I tried to use it at Krogers. At first the cashier said it wouldn't scan. Then she tried again and it wouldn't scan. The third time the register beeped at her she said “we aren't suppose to take printed coupons because they are most likely copied.” I said “it wasn't printed off the computer it was mailed to me by the company.” To which she responded by scanning it again and it magically worked. I guess it was lucky for me that I had just popped into the store for a few items that day and didn't have a lot of coupons. :)

          • Catvarner

I was lucky using my free OJ Coupon at Kroger. No problems at all. :)

          • Melissa

I was afraid really about that OJ coupon, so I kept it in the whole sheet w/ the envelope so they could see it was something I had recieved in the mail from Tropicana. I had no trouble using it (at BiLo) only the Mgr had to come and override it, but she was pleasant about it as I had asked her before I even started to shop and showed it to her. I find that my local stores are all pretty nice about coupons, it makes me feel bad for those of you that have trouble. I am grateful for the ease I have using them here (well, except for WAGS!! – I always have runaround with them! LOL)

      • Karen

I'm having the same problem with my Target. I'm beginning to think I need to stop shopping there. I don't shop at Food Lion because they never have any really good sales. If they have a good sale on something, I'll just go grab that on the way somewhere else or on the way home. Plus they don't double coupons.

      • guest

I work at a Food Lion in customer service and we do have these problems every now and again. While it may be frustrating, it is not the cashier's fault. We constantly have system updates and it could be a tag is wrong on the shelf. Cashiers get just as frustrated when they get customers yelling at them when they have no power on what the computer rings it up as.

        • H Barrett

Understandable on the cashiers end, HOWEVER, it is soooooo frustrating at my FL when something rings up at the wrong price (which happens 90% of the time on at least one item, and I'm not kidding) and when I notice it right away and bring it to his/her attention they simply say “I don't know why it is wrong, but I can't fix it so you will have to pay for it and then take receipt to CS and they can look in to it and refund any money if needed.” They don't even call manger over and then they tell me its not fair to hold up the line. Seriously? They have never offered any kind of refund as HT does when I was right and they make it such and obvious pain in the … for them it's not even worth it. One time I wanted my .86 back on cat food that was overcharged and the woman practically laughed at me…..nice!

      • AmyFMSC

I know! Me too! Something would ALWAYS ring up wrong, and it was like getting an act of congress through to get it fixed. I stopped shopping there almost completely and only go in when there is a really good deal. I used to spend $500 a month there, now it's like $5! I would always be so stressed out and mad by the time I would leave the store, and now I actually leave Harris Teeter and Lowes with a smile on my face. Such a difference in customer service at those stores too, and I have never had anything ring up wrong one single time at either HT or Lowes.

      • heather

OMG!!! I thought I was the only one that that happened too! I agree, it happens 90% of the time!! Uuurrrggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!

    • Jennifer

Jenny, My Food Lion ad states a promotion “Save $2.50 on your shopping order when you buy any combination of 5 of these meal items” Limit 1 reward per transaction: Betty Crocker Complete Meals $2.99 ea, BC Spec Potatoes $1.50 ea, BC Brownie Mix $2 ea, Green Giant Vegtables $1 ea.
Makes the Green Giant Veg Buy 5 for $5 minus $2.50 equals .50 cents each.

    • Melanie

My mom works at Food Lion and they have alot more weekly sales than what is listed in their flyer. Have you ever contacted FL to find out what some of their additional sales are? Perhaps with the number of people that are using this sight they might provide additional information. I found a couple of deals today when I went in to get a couple things. And I live in a different town from my mom but our FL weekly sales are the same.

      • DonnaTN

Jenny doesn't really post ALL sales from the fliers just good deals or match ups if there are any.

    • Sue

There is a $1 off coupon for Chips Ahoy with Recees or Heath in the July All You. I used it this week at Publix. I don't know if those varieties are included in FL's sale. They were at Publix.

    • Miss

I just wanted to say, that I have always had a possitive experience with my local Food Lion. hey always have great sales, and they will double coupons up to $.60. The workers are alwayus really friendly and helpful. Atlanta area has built new Food Lions and those are the ones that seem to be a great shopping experience for me

      • Jen

There is something about Atlanta and Food Lion. For instance, that's where they started the double coupons. I wonder if they have a headquarters there?

        • Lrowe1964

No Jen…it is still in North Carolina! As far as I know the Atlanta area is the only one doubling coupons….I work at the Food Lion in Adairsville and I know that we arent doubling them at this time :(

          • Keepsgirl

I've heard that they frequently test market new stuff in Atlanta. Charlotte is usually next….and the market that I am in (Raleigh area) is WAY down the line… :(

    • Melissa

Could we use the B1G1 Nabisco coupon (with a gallon of milk) with the chips ahoy deal this week and pay for the gallon of milk and get two packages of cookies for free? Or wouldn't that work?

      • Jamie

Melissa, that is a terrific question. It is well known that Nabisco advertises that, once per month, they offer the internet coupon to get free cookies wyb 1 & a milk. I would most definitely give it a try. If they say no, say, “Fine, I'll take this to ABC Grocery Store.”

        • Melissa

Well, I tried it and it worked! Bought a gallon of milk and two packages of Nabisco cookies (one was Chips Ahoy–the other was Oreos that I had a coupon for) and I got them both free!

    • Tracy Seate

Don't forget about the Kraft dressing Catalina that is still going on! Makes for Free Dressing when you use the $1.00 Q's!

We will however, decline internet coupons offering a free product, a coupon that has a higher dollar amount than the value of the product, a competitors' coupon, or if the coupon appears to be fraudulently generated, copied, or reproduced. In addtion, we will only accept one coupon per item. I hope you find this information beneficial. Please feel free to speak to the store manager with any concerns you have.

I tried to use a couple internet coupons the other day at my food lion in Shelby, NC and they said they don't take internet coupons anymore unless they have the food lion logo on them. She didn't even try to scan them. So i'm not really sure if this letter you got is from corporate or your store?

        • Grammy in Richmond

The letter is/was from Food Lion's corporate customer service (Andrea Vaughn works there). I will be carrying a copy of the letter with me, whenever I shop.

    • Marley

I got the same letter about the coupon policy. The assistant manager didn't want to take the buy one get free kids essentials, even though it scanned. The cashier flagged the coupon after it scaned and said no she saw that it deducted 9.99 for the 6 pack of drinks. Has this happen to anyone else?

    • Diane

I have been buying a box of pasta every time I go into Food Lion since the 1.00 off coupon came out last week. Last week the thin spaghetti was .99 so a no go with the coupon. This week thin spaghetti is 1.09 so .09 after coupon.

    • Maria

Just made a quick run to FL to use my $1 Kraft dressing coupons and got an even better deal than expected. The Kraft catalina is still running so I got three bottles of dressing for 1 cent with the $2.00 catalina that printed. I was also able to use a $2.00 off produce _ Kraft dressing coupon posted on the shelf with Kraft dressings for my bananas, broccoli and grapes. Nice!

      • Lisa

My store would not let me use the $2.00 produce in combination with the Kraft coupon, they said it was for the same 'product' since the produce coupon was based on the Kraft purchase?

    • Tylerblake2004
