Is the rebate with Staples easy to do? Do you have to get a staples card or anything like at OfficeMax?

      • coupondiva02

Staples has one of the easiest refund systems because you can mail it in or just complete it online. You sign up for an “Easy Refund Acct” and it saves all your info. Then, you just fill in a few numbers and you're done. Wait 6-8 weeks (or 8-10 in some cases; read the small print on your receipt) and there's your rebate in the mailbox. Very easy. I'd recommend completing the rebate as soon as you get home from the store just so you don't forget to do it and miss the deadline. HTH

        • Thesclady

So I'm trying to understand these rebates from Staples and Office Max the rebates from Office Max are like “store credit” meaning you have to use at Office Max and the Staples rebates issues you a true rebate or is that also a “store credit”? Never used these two before and really trying to understand it all before I go looking crazy to the store employees…lol! Any help is greatly appreciated.

          • Rydergal

Rebates from Staples are true rebates…you'll get a check in the mail.

          • kjmiller

The Staples “Easy Rebate” gives you real money (a cashable check or Visa Prepaid Card). That's the system they use most often. With the backpack deal this week, however, your rebate will be in the form of a Staples gift card (store credit).

We don't have an Office Max nearby so can't help you there.

            • Tfrost99

Most of the time the rebate is in the form of a check. One of the more recent times it said a Visa Prepaid card, but it then gave me the option to request a check instead. Not sure about the store gift card for the back pack but I guess I would probably use it with all these good deals each week.

          • Holden

It says on the ad that the rebate is in the form of a “Staples Gift Card” — sounds like store credit to me and not a check like usual

      • aczek16

Just as most have said below and as i have posted above, Staples is SOO easy! the best way to do it is to enter the two sets of numbers right when you get home from the store…unlike Rite Aid there's no waiting till the end of the month to submit your rebates…so you click, and the check is sent to you (its not a store credit, you can deposit it in the bank, or cash it in for COLD HARD CASH always wanted to say that! :))
Office Max however, IS a store credit. You can buy items with the “max perks” and then buy more items using them…basically like CVS' ECB. (ive never used it before, but that is my understanding)
hope this helped! :)) happy saving.

    • Csoble1214

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just got back from staples….they allowed me to use the 10 off 25 from office depot AND the 5 off 25 from staples… Total was $26.08 and paid $11.08. They will tell you that the bill has to be $25 before tax, so we grabbed a pack of skittles to make it over. Don't hesitate to hand them both to them. They scanned the office depot one first.

      • Csoble1214

I was able to get 19 items at that price. Can't beat that!

      • GeorgesMom

I thought the rebate didn't start until 7/25. Were you able to get the rebate in addition to using the coupons?

        • Csoble1214

I didnt get any items that qualified for the rebate. I wish, but no.

      • I was just wondering if you could combine the 2! I hope our store is just as coupon-friendly. And that they have some paper left! 8-]

        • Csoble1214

Yes, they combined both the coupons for me.

          • Our store wouldn't let me use both. 8-[
I'll still net a $5.25 profit when the easy rebate comes in, so I can't complain too awful much.

      • Elizabeth

Where did you get the 5 off 25 coupon?

    • Amy

I got a bag last year for myself, not a backback, with the 100% rewards. I'm a teacher and it's the only bag I used all year without fraying, breaking, or other similar problems. I can't wait to get another bag next week!

    • allison

i don't usually shop at staples how does the rebate work? is it like ecb's at cvs?

      • Lindsayhunton

It's more like Rite Aid. You enter your information from the receipt online and they mail you a check.

      • aczek16

To me, its easier than Rite Aid. They had their paper for a $1 (with a 3.99 rebate, limit 2). So I bought two of them, deciding i would try their rebate system. i was proved wrong upon thinking it would be as hard as Rite Aid. all you had to do was enter two sets of numbers and click like two things…and wha-la you're check was sent to you! (no waiting till the end of the month to submit for rebates, or forgetting it at the last minute…you have 60 days to redeem it!) hope this helps!!

    • Nookiesix

is this free backpack deal on line only, cause i called the store here in nashville,tn. they say they don't know anything about it.

      • Carol James

I haven't seen anything in print about it, but I saw a commercial on an Atlanta network station last night for this sale.

      • Tiny E

No, it's in-store. This ad will be in Sunday's paper but it is available online on the staples website if you look at the sneak peek.. My location often does not have the coupons in the flyer version that is in the store, I can only get them online or in the Sunday paper so go prepared. HTH.

        • cjms6599

Thanks Tiny E.! Just looked at next week's ad.

      • aczek16

Even if they say they don't know anything about it, all you have to do is show them the ad; they cant turn that down!! :))

    • Alli

Where are these in ad coupons? In this Sunday's paper? (i hope!)

      • Jenny

They are in the Sunday Staples ad that is coming.

      • aczek16

There are no “in-ad” coupons. It is just a sale Staples is running this week; however some items only are on sale until Wednesday…

        • Luvthomeschool3

According to the Staples website there is a whole page of “in-ad” coupons. HTH

    • Thesclady

    • Lindsayhunton

It's more like Rite Aid. You enter your information from the receipt online and they mail you a check.

    • Blondie38464

Is there a limit on the backpacks?

      • Amy B.

The limit is 1 per household.

    • Qwertyemily

So with my Staples Star Teacher Rewards Card, I'll be able to get 25 packs of multipurpose paper? Woo hoo!

      • Parkaroo

Will you be able to get a rebate for all 25 packs? I have a teacher reward card but have not used it before. Thanks for the help.

        • kristifromchelsea

Are their rebates with paper or is $.01 the price? In the ad online I did not see that it was an easy rebate but it is hard to read all of the fine print. I picked up some items last week at Staples that were the good deals and they were just the price that was advertised, no rebate.

Does anyone know about this week?

          • Earnjr8fan

I am pretty sure that it is just the items that are a penny and not the paper that is a penny after the rebate. I missed out on the pencils and I am so mad about that.

          • guest

its 1 dollar after rebate, not 1 cent. $5.99 -$1 instant savings -$3.99 easy rebate = $1. wow thats a low price.

            • guest

              limit 2.

            • guest

sorry that was last weeks ad forget i said anything

          • Mamato6chicks

You have to mail in the rebate for the paper. Once you get it back your paper will come to 1 cent/pack.

      • guest1

Rebate items do not qualify for higher quantities for teachers (according to my staples). Whatever the limit is will be the limit for all. Boo… I know.

      • Mamato6chicks

If the paper needs to have a rebate mailed in it is my understanding that you still have to abide by the limit set. They will only refund you for TWO. Our Staples told me that the only thing teachers can 25 of are the 1 cent deals WITHOUT rebate. So, for instance you can get 25 packs of the pens that are 1 cent/pk this week but not the paper.

    • Laurenrow1982

do you get the gift card instantly at the time of purchase?

      • Mamato6chicks

No. You enter it online and they mail it to you. They call it an “Instant Rebate” if it is taken at the register.

    • Amy

I picked up a nice Swiss Gear laptop backpack this morning! You can submit the rebate online instead of sending in the form, so that is nice. Amazing that you get the whole amount back in a rebate!

    • Tfrost99

Just got back from Staples. The middle school where my daughter goes doesn't have lockers so she picked out a High Sierra hiking backpack for more space…thought it was a good deal even at $99.99 w/ the backpack special but it rang up for $49.99 which made it an even better deal!!! Also picked up the (2) of 1 cent deals on pens and copy paper & (2) of the 25 cent deals on highlighters. Just came home & submitted my rebates online! So easy!!!!

    • Mamato6chicks

I got my backpack today! I had been planning to buy one for my son from L.L. Bean for the quality. I'm glad I didn't b/c this deal came along. How can you pass up a FREE quality backpack?!? My son is thrilled with it. Staples rebates are the easiest ones I've ever dealt with too. Yay, Staples!

    • Jwatson1969

just a quick note …somebody else may have already said it but i missed it if so….the ink cartridges you use to print off coupons and such can be recycled at staples…as of right now they give $2 back on each one up to 10 per month per address on a rewards card…you can check out the deal on it at their site at staplesrewards ….at the end of the month it's $20 if you filled it up….ink or toner cartridges…..good stuff….they pay about a month behind in the form of a coupon online that you print out for use at the staples stores….you can also purchase online with it

    • Melissa L.

Are there any $5 off $25 coupons out there for any of the office supply stores?

    • Jbrookshire01

Is the rebate they send you a check or does it have to be used at Staples?
