twins-freebies-and-samples

Before our twins were born my husband and I were oblivious to the material needs of children.  Our church and friends had us stocked on diapers we thought for at least a year.  As soon as those girls came home that diaper supply lasted maybe 3 weeks.  We went through a whole pack of preemie diapers every day!!  I quickly went in search of ways to help.  There are lots of companies that have great presents and programs for extra blessed parents.

Thanks to Laura for getting these together and calling all these companies to just to make sure it was right information!!

    • Carin

My twin sister had twin boys 5 years ago and their insurance company (USAA) refunded the purchase of both of their infant car seats. She had to send in the receipts for each carseat. Not sure if they still do this but maybe it will help someone.

      • Eve

This is such an AWESOME Insurance company. We've been with them since DH joined the Military over 10 years ago and they are the best Insurance Company by far.
I think now they are branching out to the civilians, but not really positive on this.
        Thx!! for the HU!

      • Courtney

I checked in January 2010 and they had discontinued the program at USAA.

    • Kelly K

I used to babysit twin boys and their Mom would get discounts on somethings at Babies R Us. I know it really helped her out when she needed to buy 4 new carseats at once as they grew out of the infant ones! (A set for Moms car and a set for Dads)

    • HillbillyFrugal

Did you know that if you cannot afford a carseat the hospital will not let you leave without one. Each state has a different program but most will give you a carseat for FREE when you leave the hospital. Other programs require you to request one 3 months in advance and want you to learn how to install them. Check out your state's program.

      • Laura

Guess what…NOTHING is free. The rest of us are paying for it thru tax dollars and insurance premiums.

        • Amy

Laura, on behalf of all the new moms you've helped with those tax dollars and insurance premiums, I'd like to say thank you. You have relieved just one of the stressors facing so many new families leaving the hospital, finances. Sometimes financial binds come upon us from paying such expenses as our own taxes and insurance premiums that it's nice to know such programs are available for the safety and well-being of our priceless gifts.

        • pixeles

It's only fair, some of us work hard to make others richer.

    • TwinMom2xs

Wow, what a list! Even having done the twin thing twice now I hadn't heard of a TON of these offers! My youngest set is 2 years old now so I will have to check them out and see if any would still be willing to accept them in their offers! Thanks so much, Michele

      • Suzanne

I did a few of these offers when my twin boys were born but some of the offers I haven't seen or heard of. I wonder if this is a current list? My twins are now 15 months so I wonder if they are still open to twins over 6+ or so months? Anyone have any ideas if it's worth it…it can be pretty time consuming.

    • hisbranches

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have 2 sets of twins ages1yr and 2 yr, all currently still in diapers. I also have a 3yro, a 4yro, and a 6yro, so every deal is a needed deal for us!!!

      • MOMTO2

WOW 7 kids all under 6 years old! You need a medal, or maybe a tv in the bedroom.LOL

      • Amy

        WOW! That's amazing!

      • Gina

OH DEAR LORD!! We have 3 yr old twins and my husband had twins with his previous marriage (they are 10). I can't possibly imagine what your house is like with all those little ones! I would totally be on phychiatric drugs! :) You need a medal! and a vacation, I bet! You should post an address and those with extra diaper coupons, etc. could mail them to you. I get them all the time and we don't use diapers anymore. What a HUGE amount that saves, so I can't imagine your diaper bills!

        • hisbranches

          Gina-
I would appreciate all “extra” coupons! My Adress is Kim Johnson 173 Cumberland Way Dallas, Ga 30132.
          Thanks!!!!

    • Brandi

I don't have twins but wish these companies did offers like these for singles too. With 2 kids in diapers I go through Diaper Genie refills like crazy! LOL!

      • Most will still do something if you call asking for coupons or samples. Never hurts to ask!

        • julie

jenny can you pdf this post I want to print it for the doctors office and for a friend who is 16yrs old who had twin boys lol… she needs all the help she can get thanks
          mrsjmward@YAHOO.COM
          hugs jules

          • I will do that and link to it at the top of the page later tonight! Nap time is over now :)

            • julie

thanks jenny you are too sweet…. I just found out that 16yr old is pregnant again..
              just still in shock!!!

            • Cristi

I will even take the PDF request a step further. I know this is a lot to ask, but would you consider a section or a link for Babies on your homepage that these miscellaneous little nuggets can be found or grouped under? I was just thinking last night that I would love to go back and easily find the recent post you made about baby coupons and freebies for a friend who just had a new addition to her home. Baby items are just so expensive, it's wonderful to know when a deal comes along.

    • Oh this is fabulous information! Would you be interested in writing (or letting me write) a guest post with this info. for my blog? Beauty4Moms.blogspot.com

      Have a blessed day!

      Ashley

    • KKennedy

I have twins also and Babies R Us does give the multiples discount. Its 10% on big ticket items: car seats, cribs, double strollers, etc. I also got a couple of free cases of formula from Enfamil and Similac.

    • TwinJoys

Thank you for all the listings! I have a book (Good Night, Sleep Tight) that listed a few, but no where near this number! My twins have been awesome blessings (both are in Jump'n'Go's right now & they are laughing, laughing, laughing!!), but they are a little hard on the wallet. :-)

    • slosander

I must say, this list will definately help many families with multiples. As a mother of twins (now 10yrs old) myself, I would have given an arm and a leg for information such a this! Having multiples is hard enough, but figuring out a way to provide for them without breaking the bank is a feat in itself. Jenny, would it be selfish of me to wish there were offers for school age twins? How about teenage twins? (LOL)

    • mandy

Thanks Jenny!! I have 1 yr old boy/girl twins :) Love it, but boy is it costly!! Your site always helps!

    • Michelle I

Awesome…there are some new ones on here since I had twins 5 years ago….I'm going to pass them along to my moms of multiples club!

    • Amy

This is great info! Thanks for posting. :) On my blog I have the list of companies I contacted and what I received from each one if anyone wants to check that out. (Just scroll down a couple entries.) I did it back in June so I'm sure some things have changed.

    • Robin

Hi Jenny… Not to bust the bubble but alot of these companies will no longer give out things. When I had my twins, I wrote over 36 companies that we had listed. I heard back from 6. 3 of them sent stuff (if you count Enfamil which actually had to call my OB's office and confirm that I did have a set of twins and both were still living) and 2 sent me something (one was Parents and the other was Sassy)… The other 4 companies sent me a congratulations letter on my multiple birth. Pampers did send coupons (forgot about that one but it was a one time deal)… Other than that, no word from the other companies. I sent copies of birth certificates and crib cards to all. I called and most told me that they did away with the multiples programs due to the economy and multiple babies being born… Just a word of caution…

    • Valerie

Just FYI, before sending proof such as a birth certificate, you can and should black out with a sharpie marker any identifying info. such as SSN. The companies don't need that to verify the birth of your twins, and I even had a few companies willing to return the birth certs. to me with a SASE that I enclosed. Just can't be too careful.

      • shellie

Are there states that print birth Certs with SSN on them still? That's crazy if they do. Here, in Indiana, it includes mother's name, fathers name, birthplaces of parents and child name and birthplace. That's it.

    • Heather

This is wonderful. I don't have multiples (born at the same time, at least, mine are 18 mo apart) but I am sending this link to two of my friends who do!

    • Ginny

Payless Shoes gave my single birth baby her 1st pair of shoes for free several years ago.

    • Sandra

Wish I had seen a list like this 19 years ago. My twins are now in college and it only gets more expensive!

    • kimpo76

My twins are just now getting expensive at 16 months because they eat so much food! I found the first year to not be much more expensive than it was with my singleton, but I wouldn't turn down any freebies/coupons! Thanks for the great list!

    • kathynelhatten

Thanks for this great list, I just hate that I didn't know about it when my twin grandsons were born two years ago. But I have friends with twins and I am an OB/GYN nurse so I will definitely be passing this information along.

    • Wow, what a great list and resource. I don't have twins but I have many friends who do so I am definitely going to share this list to them and on my blog! THanks for sharing! Great post!

      Elizabeth @TheThriftyDivas

    • ermajean94

Wish I had had this when my triplet boys were born. any leads for the older children (age 15 and still cost lots.)

    • ermajean94

What a great list. Wish I had had this 15 years ago when my triplet boys were born. Any help for older kids, they still cost a bundle?

    • aretter

THANKS! My niece is pregnant with twins,(father left just before finding out that it was 2!) and I was on here to find out about diaper deals when I found this post. I will definitely pass it along to her. If anyone in the Atlanta (Braselton) area has twin items they are looking to sell, please email.

      • lsylvan

I don't necessarily have items to sell, but there are several multiples clubs in the area that have consignment sales. Plus they are a great source of info and advice, and have events throughout the year. Most of the sales start this month. I am a member of Cobb Parents of Multiples and our sale is March 13th at Sandy Plains Baptist. Bargainwatcher.com has a list of all consignment sales in the Atlanta area. The multiples sales are great for finding sets of 2 for things you need like that.

    • Emily

Add the white house to that list, I have twins and they sent us a letter of congrats to welcome their birth signed by the president!! It was a really cool thing to add to their keepsake books! Here's the address to write to:

The White House Greeting Office Room 39, Washington D.C. 20500

    • driveslikedale

Jenny, thank you for posting this. My good friend just had triplets 2 weeks ago so I have sent her this information. I know she will contact all these places.

Thanks for all your hard work on this amazing site!

    • rwahl

Thanks Jenny! As a mom of 7 month old twins and a 5 & 3 year old …. we are always looking for deals!! :)

    • MJones

I wonder if they're are any programs for older multiples: they're still expensive and they will soon be eight years old!!

    • Suzanne

Thanks for posting these, Jenny! I've contacted several of these companies after my twins were born but I haven't seen all of these offers. Some of the things that were sent weren't what is listed and found that some companies have actually disconntued their 'Multiple Birth' programs.

Although I don't have it as difficult as (hisbranches/Kim) w/7 children! I do have 4 children ages 3 and under (3, 2 and 15month old twins) so diapers and pull-ups at our house is an expense times FOUR! If anyone else has Qs they don't need/use for diapers & pull-ups would like to send them, I'd be so apprecitive! I can email my addy to anyone that would be willing.

      • Lara

email me your addy Suzanne. I had a potty party and pull ups sent me a bunch of coupons for pull ups. My twins arent due till Sept so my 22 mo old son is the only one using pull ups. I'll send you a few. email is wiggins.lara@yahoo.com

    • fowlertwinsmom

I have young twins and sent letters/proof and called the companies. Just about all of them congratulated me but stated that they have done away with the multiples program. Be wary of wasting stamps like I did. Playtex send me a bunch of free stuff and so did Gerber.
By the way, don't forget sending a birth announcement to the White House and the President will send a card to your new baby. I saved them for the babies scrapbook.

      • Cindy

Can you provide info on the ones that said they discontinued their multiple programs?

        Thanks so much!

    • Lara

This is wonderful. Im ten weeks pregnant with my twins and someone sent me this link. I am so excited that these coompanies offer such programs.

    • kimpo76

Thought I'd update with what I've received so far. I mailed or e-mailed most of the companies on the list a few days after Jenny posted. I have received a bunch of little samples , as well as a couple of infant bibs (too small for my twins, though) from Boudreaux's Butt Paste, a 10% off online code from Little Tikes (wish it was an in-store coupon instead…), and the last address on the list from Mondial Industries came back as “Not Deliverable as Addressed”. I'm interested to see who else responds!

      • kimpo76

Another update: I got another returned letter “Not Deliverable as Addressed” from the American Baby address.

        • kimpo76

          More updates:
Johnson & Johnson sent me a letter telling me to go to their website if I wanted to find a coupon or deal. Gee, thanks J&J!
Kids II sent me a 10% off online coupon code.
Kimberly-Clark sent me two $3 off Huggies coupons and three $1 off Huggies coupons.
Totally Toddler sent me two FREE coupons for any product up to $12.99 value – best one so far!

I wonder if I'm not getting the baskets/toys/etc. because my twins are older (17 months) and not newborns?

          • Robyn

Thank you for posting this info. I have 3 month old twins and have been working on the list and have been very disappointed at how outdated it is. I have gotten coupons from Gerber, Beechnut and Sassy sent a buy one get one free order form but after shipping it was more like buy one get one half off. Still waiting on the rest.

          • kimpo76

            P & G sent me coupons today…
1 free Jumbo Pack of Pampers up to $13.99
$5 Jumbo Pack or larger of Pampers
$2 off Jumbo Pack or larger of Pampers
            $1 off any Pampers Wipes

…and then they threw in a random Iam's BOGO dog food can coupon in there for some reason!

            • kimpo76

Got another set of coupons from P & G, same values, except Luvs diapers.

Learning Curve sent a bunch of gifts! Two Pooh/Eyeore lovey blankeys and two sets of Take and Toss sippy cups (they even gave me one blue set and one pink set since I mentioned I have boy/girl twins!).

    • Joy

Great article … and super tips all in these comments, too!!! I’ve linked this to my “This ‘n That Thursday” post. Hope lots of others get as much out of it as I have! Happy Thursday!

I received coupons from Beechnut and Earth's Best unfortunately they expire before I'll be able to use them. If anyone needs coupons for baby food please let me know.
