This week my shopping budget was taken over by life.  It happens to all of us.  Thursday morning I was awakened by a phone call (never a good thing) that my mother had been in a wreck.  She is okay, just banged up a lot.  My budget for the week though went into getting her stocked on easy meals, and other things she needed so that she can just rest at home.  Having no plans for any of this, I had no coupons and really couldn’t even shop sales.

I did stay under my $50 budget but in the end only saved 49¢ on the whole trip.    Not a glory moment for sure, but that’s okay I love my mama and would do it again in a heart beat (anytime a couponer pays full price for something remember it is truly an act of love).

At our house we were already having a “clear out the pantry week”, so this fit in pretty well to not need the money for our needs.

I have no doubt some of you had an awesome week this week, so I’m living vicariously through you.

You can print multiple coupons for the duck brand tape if you keep entering new email addresses! Two 1 dollar off per email! This makes it free at walmart!

I’m so glad your mom is okay after the accident and I know she appreciates all you did for her.  And you are right…paying full price is the ultimate gift of love. Your mom is lucky to have you. :)

Those earlier morning phone calls… boy they can scare you to death.  Hope your Mom has a speedy, pain-free recovery.  And you’re right — when it comes to loved ones,  their needs come before the coupons.  Life sure does happen sometimes when you least expect it!

Blessings to you and your family this Christmas and all the year through.  I am so glad your mother is safe and that you are able to assist her.  Have a great day!

Glad your mom is ok! i had to chuckle a little when I read that any time a couponer pays full price for something that it’s an act of love!! Just last week as I was getting candy with coupons the kitkats called my name because my husband loves them! I didn’t have a coupon for them but I got them anyway! I told my mother-in-law (who was with me) that that was true love! :)

    • So glad that your mom is ok! Hang in there! : )

Thanks for reminding us all of what our priorities should be. It is so easy to get caught up in “squeezing every penny” that sometimes we lose the bigger picture. (I have SO been there and done that!!) So glad your mom is going to be OK. Have a merry, merry Christmas!!

When you use a $5.00 0ff a $25.00 purchase, do you give the coupon before or after the rest of your coupons?

    • Meshell

Life sure does happen sometimes! I had my Publix list planned out, coupons pulled, etc. I was going to go shopping Friday night. I ended up in the hospital due to an iron deficiency. Sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men…..

My Publix shopping trip was GREAT this week!  This is the first time I have EVER saved so much before.  Before sells and coupons it was $158.92 and only spent $69.56.  A savings of $89.36. :)
