I have to confess that yet again we didn’t make it to the store for a big trip…  we ended up only being in town for 3 days, so I quickly ran in to get milk and bread and we ate off our stock pile for another week.  I make no promises for next week, but the stockpile is getting low and that’s NOT a good thing.  So I’ll get there soon rain or shine.

Total Before Coupons and sales: $17.91
Total Spent: $12.82
Total Saved: $5.09

I grabbed some Aleve that made $1.51 a bottle to help have some savings on items that weren’t on sale at all.  This also included a sub from the Deli.

I actually got 2 swagbucks “searching” for SouthernSavers.com!  We made another 22 swagbucks this week, so total for searching we are up to 80!!

(If you have no clue what this, go here for an explanation).

How was your savings this week?  Leave a comment or link to your savings post.

I am NOT happy with swag bucks. When I first signed up, I could score one a day. I went ALL WEEK without getting one. Finally today I went searching and searching for them. I finally got one going through their advertising thing and then one through facebook that went to their blog and then one through searching so it made it up a little but I didn’t know I would have to work that hard to get them. I searched EVERYTHING. CVS, Rite Aid, Southern Savers, anything I could think of. Nothing. Anyway, I am still plugging! :D

    • Did you see the Taco bell special?

Big shopping day today! Publix, Kroger, Wal-greens, and one item at Wal-mart. Totals were $560 worth of groceries, etc.. for $193. The checker at Publix actually drew a smiley face on my receipt – she said no one had ever saved as much as I did today in one trip (my Publix totals were $282 before coupons and $105 after – this doesn’t include 3 rebates I will be getting for a total of $30).

I grabbed a few KY items that were on the clearance rack and 3 or 4 other things that weren’t on my list, but all in all, I got $387 worth of stuff for $139. Not too shabby. I’m happy with it! Thanks for all your help Jenny!

    • Woohoo for swagbucks! I just started tonight and I already have 7. I’m not really sure how to increase my chances on getting more. I think if I can get a lot of $5 amazon gift cards by November, it should be a good Christmas. Thanks Jenny!

I had a disappointing week at Rite Aid because they were out of most of the stuff on my life, but other then that, I did pretty well. :)

Actually, I just realized that I’ve got 2 SC Johnson rebates to send in from purchases this week so… so total oop after rebates is $1.54 plus 3 stamps. Or a savings of 99%.

I’ve also got the $7.50 Coors Light rebate to send in for Pepsi, but I need to call and make sure that they’ll take the printed form… I read on another website that they wouldn’t. :(

question fo anyone who can answer, I see some people have posted that they used a store coupon with manufacturers coupon and a blinkie. can you do that? I thought a blinkie was a manufacturers coupon!

      • kelli

blinkies are manufacture’s coupons, I can’t see any stores allowing all 3.

i think i did well this week. i went to cvs with 8 ecbs. i left with contact solution, 3 pk ivory, 2 boxes of thermacare. i spent 5 (and a few cents over). i left with 15 ecbs. also, at bi-lo, i got 115.65 in groceries and paid 45.32. that is about a 61 % savings if i did the math right….correct me if i didn’t.

    • As always, thanks for the linky! I did pretty good last week at Target, CVS and Safeway!!

    • katie

I had a great week at Publix. Got some perscriptions and they took the Kmart coupon that gives you a $10.00 gift card for new perscriptions. I ended up getting 2 gift cards.

      Saved +$100.00
      Spent $22.00

I got a ton of free vitamins, Bayer, Aleve, coke, meat, Manwich, Rotell, and the list goes on. I love checking your site everyday.

I am a school teacher, so the free tissue has come in handy as well.

Thanks so much for your hard work :)

    • Kelly

how many swagbucks did you get for everyone signing up under your swagbuck referral? bet you got tons of points for lots and lots of Amazon gift cards!!!

    • Question: When Jenny and others say that they spend on average $50 a week, does that include ALL health and beauty products, toilet tissue, diapers and any other CVS, Walgreen’s, or Rite Aid purchases? How much is a reasonable amount for a family of 5 (no toddlers, but 3 preteen and teenage girls) to spend each week? I haven’t been successful at getting to $50 per week.

    • Andrea

Thank you so much for laying things out for us to follow!!
I got several good deals at Publix this week and really shocked the cashier.

My total before coupons was $95 and after was $44. I got several B1G1 and also had to get a few regular priced items.

With my trip to Publix and CVS I only spent $108, but saved $154!! AND I will have rebates coming back too.

    • Do you truly believe that’s true? You did a superb job sharing your point, but I think you must put some more thought in this discussion and maybe post an answer to the opposite side of this story.
