I had fun this week!  I bought a ton of produce and still managed to save over 50%.  It makes me thrilled every time I can do this since it’s is the largest excuse people give me as to why they don’t or can’t coupon.

Imagine me standing on top of a building screaming the following:

You can save money on every item that is sold in a grocery store.
Every single one of them!

Seriously I’ve had moments where I just want to shake people and get them to wake up…

Okay moving on.

This week I went to Kroger and Walgreens.

Kroger:
Total Before Sales and Coupons: $148.87
Total Spent: $63.03
Total Saved: $85.84 or 57.6%

This included: Potatoes, Spinach, Whole Pineapple, (2) Strawberries 16 oz, Squash 3 lbs, (1) Green Pepper, (1) Cantaloupe, (1) Butternut Squash, (7) Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers, Mahi Mahi 2 lbs, 8 lbs of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts, and ton more.  I had (3) $3 off coupons from the last mega event that helped a lot.

I had been wanting to make Butternut Squash fries for ages, so this week we tried it and they are awesome!  They taste just like sweet potato fries but with basically no starch.  The only change to make to this recipe is to use oil spray to reduce the fat content significantly and we seasoned some with chili powder for an added kick. (1 WW points plus for a ton of fries!)

Walgreens:
Total Before coupons and Sales: $16.47
Total Spent: $1.84
Total Saved: $14.63 or 88.8%

I went in just for my swiffer pad refills.  This is such an awesome deal I couldn’t pass it up.  I also had RR from a previous week so it made it even better.
