We ran out today to Publix before leaving town. It was a good trip though I grabbed a few things to have snacks on the road and that added a bit more than I wanted too on the total. It’s definitely true that you shouldn’t go shopping hungry, everything was calling my name.

Before sales and coupons: $142.44
Total Spent: $51 (exactly no change…)
Total Saved: $91.44 or 64.2%

Before sales and coupons: $17.78
Total Spent: $4.36
Total Saved: $13.42 or 75.5%

This was just a few things I grabbed as I walked the store looking for extra deals. Nothing big. Used a store coupon for free Wheat thins, a rain check to get free country time lemonade and a few other things.

Weekly Total:
Before sales and Coupons: $160.22
Total Spent: $55.36
Total Saved: $104.86 or 65.5%

Oh, how I wish Friday were “finals” day for me! I do not enjoy shopping, and it seems like it’s something that is never “done”. I squeezed in one Publix trip tonight in order to take advantage of some of the deals in the Advantage Buy flier before they expired tonight. The two 19 year olds went with me, and they were a huge help in getting through the store more quickly.

Here are some of my totals for the week.

Publix Nonni’s biscotti run earlier this week:
      Before savings – $23.41
      After – $5.49

      Publix tonight:
      Before savings – $115.23
After – $23.12 (plus it qualified for the $10 giftcard rebate)

      Food Lion (mostly meat):
      Before savings – $47.xx
      After – $15.00

      Before savings – $82.34
      After – $0.34

Kroger (various stops 4 gal. milk 4 loaves bread @.69ea., and 2 packs sesame seeded rolls @ .50 ea)

      Total – $11.72

      Before savings – $98.94
After $5.98 (plus $20 more in RR than I had before)
Total OOP this week – $61.65
      Before savings – $378.64
      Total “saved” – $316.99 (plus an additional $30 in RR’s and GC’s)

      84% savings for the week
Not counting the GC & RR’s that I haven’t spent, but including the Kroger savings that I didn’t list above.

This was a VERY good week because I exceeded my personal goal of 75% overall savings, but more importantly I FINALLY spent less than before I started using q’s again.

Do you think I can ever get to the point where I routinely avg. under $50/wk for 10 to 14 people?
