After buying half of Publix and Bi-Lo last week (not really it just felt like that), we didn’t need anything this week.  I had an unintentional CVS trip though.

I went in to look for a price on something and scanned my CVS card at the coupon center (it’s just what you’re supposed to do every time you go in the store), and the machine printed a $6 off Revlon Colorstay cosmetics coupon. I couldn’t pass that up!

(1) Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lip Color $10.99
-$6 off Revlon Colorstay store coupon
-$2 off Revlon Cosmetic SS 5/08
-$2 ECB (from a previous week)
Total Due: 99¢
Got Back: $4 ECB (for buying $10 in Revlon products)

Thank you little magical machine for making my week off from shopping fun!

How did you do this week?  Leave a comment or a link to your savings post.

    • I scored a few items for FREE today!

    • thank you jenny, im headed to cvs now =)

    • Lisa_jeffery

I have just started the whole couponing thing and I must say…I AM ADDICTED!!! I haven't got as good as some folks, but I am trying!! Thanks everyone for all of your advice.

    • Kerry

I'm just curious Jenny…I know you say to print your shopping list and take only the coupons needed for that trip. So what do you now do differently in order to score the CVS deal you unexpectedly came upon? Do you carry some coupons with you? I switched to the binder method some time ago in order to not miss any deals but if you have a more efficient medium between the 2 methods, please let us know:)

      • No I still stick with my normal system and am okay missing deals if that happens from time to time.  I do have a small coupon folder for cut coupons that I keep in the car though and had cut those revlon coupons a few weeks ago for a deal and then didn't use them so I actually had them with me for a change.

      • Claire

I personally carry my binder with me to every store I walk into.  You just never know what you're going to hit on!  But, I'm sure Jenny has a waaaaay bigger stockpile than I do, so I'm sure that it's not as big a deal to her if she misses something as it would be to me.  Also, I didn't have a $2 Revlon q when I walked in – I actually lucked up and found peelies!

    • Jcouch2546

I went into CVS everyday this week and couldn't get the machine to print that coupon for me… Oh well maybe next time….

    • Carolyn

I had $4.77 in ecb that were going to expire today so I stopped on my way home from work at CVS. I got the same $6 off Revlon coupon! It's prob b/c I usually do buy Revlon when the deals come up so the magic machine knows what I want! :) I had already used my $2 off coupon so I just used the $6 coupon from red box, got some $14 makeup, spent 8, got back $4 ecb. I also got the cheap Oral B Toothbrushes and 2 free m&ms. All in all, I used $4.77 ecb, spent $7, and got back $8 in ecb! :)

    • Rebekah Demartino

This is an excellent site, and an awesome section!  I love this place!  I love seeing everyone's hauls!

    • I went to CVS after work today. I had only my shopping list and one $4 off $20 coupon. I spent about $34 out of pocket and saved $31 by sticking to sale items and a few items that came with ECB. Also, I managed to buy $30 of the gas card reward items before the coupon and ECB from my first transaction, so I received $10 in gas money! After taking that $10 into consideration, it's more like I spent $24 on $75 worth of goods (68% savings).

And that's all with only one coupon and ECB that I earned in the first of two transactions! I didn't need several dozen coupons to get a good deal (this time) because I used the checklist from this site and took care not to stray from my printed shopping list.

    • Sweet deal! Does CVS change their coupons daily? I scanned my card on Monday at one location, and again today at a different store, and got the same coupons. Is there a system, or is it just random?

    • I went to Walgreens this week. I used my $6 in RR from last week and $5 that I earned from the Degree transaction, spent OOP $6.55 on a retail cost of $50.45. That's a savings of about 87%.
      Transaction # 1
      (4) Degree Degree Deodorants $3.75, used (2) BOGO Free and (2) 75 cent off q
      (3) Royal Jellos 20 cents each after instore q
Used $6 RR from last week made my OOP total 60 cents
      Transaction #2
      (2) Got2b Styling Products $5.99 BOGO Free, used (2) $2.00 off q,
      (1) Listerine Pocket Pak (I didn't have a coupon for this but my honey likes them)
      (1) Ecotrin Aspirin $3.49 instore q and $1.00 q
      (4) packs of Oscar Meyers Hot Dogs (rain check from last week) BOGO for $2.99
Used $5.00 RR from Degree Deal made my OOP $5.95.

Plus had $2 RR left over from Listerine deal.

    • Shenna

When did the $6 off Revlon expire? I would like to go tomorrow and try to get one if they are still printing out

    • Claire

I did the Revlon as well, but got the mineral ColorStay Aqua makeup – dang $14!  Really good stuff though.  So I used the $2 and the $6 as well, then got the $4 back.  Yeah…that works for me!

    • Cawilson52

Well, I am not as extreme as those on TV, but I am proud of my savings.  Biweekly shopping trip to Winn Dixie, total was 674.89 after reward card and coupons were deducted, total bill was 373.85.

Then I made a stop at Winn Dixie and they had Nivea Good bye cellulite patches marked down to $3.49 from 14.79.  Fortunately, I had taken my coupon book in even though I was just getting milk, so I was able to pull out my coupon for $3 off any Nivea GoodBye cellulite product and score it for .49.  Also used my $1 off a diet coke coupon for a .59 cold Diet coke.  Next stop was Save a Lot to snag some of the 10 for $10 totino's pizza rolls and butterball turkey bacon.  I had printed a Save a Lot coupon online after registering at their site to save $5 off a $25 order.  The Totinos and bacon would be $20 but I was not worried about finding something to make it $25.  I took my coupon book in because I only had a $20 and 78 cents in change on me.

      I checked out:

      10 Totinos 10.00
      Minus $1 for 2 coupons for .50 off 4 $8.00

      10 Butterball $10.00
      Minus 6.50 for 10 coupons .65 off one  $3.50
(If I had only had 20 of these I easily could have hit $30 and stayed under my cash on hand! hehe But alas and alack! I did not!)

One Margaret something or other seasoned green beans $1.79
Minus coupon for .50 off one    $1.29

      One White Castle burgers   $3.79
Minus coupon for .50 off    $3.29

I know I am an amateur compared to many, but I was proud!

Just wanted to share…. If you are looking for somewhere to donate any grocery items or personal care items, you don't have to look far- Check with your local church.  Mine gave out 4 tons of groceries in the past month to people in need (even some people living in tents in the woods). It's a great way to locally help your community and makes couponing not only help your family, but others who really need food and care items.  Remember… “Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely…” Psalm 112:5A

    • Tami1674

Not extreme just normal…… $244.45 before coupons…..$95.04 after. My daughter and I were thrilled!!! That included 10 bottles of laundry soap for a donation! :)

      • Kai

    • Shalena_douthit09

I just have to tell you about my CVS trip here in TN. I ended up getting 4 Dove men's deoderant ($3 each), 2 body washes (1.77 each), box of 24 CVS hand sanitizing wipes ($4.29), and a tube of Blade styling gel. After coupons and my raincheck for the deoderant OOB………….$5.54!!!!!!! I was so happy!! But…….they didn't have anymore deoderant so I was unable to get my $5 EB which would have meant only 54 cents for it! Bummer!! Oh well, I'm still proud of myself! Blessings!

      • Psimmons5565

If you got a raincheck the ECB should print when you use it. Ask the store.

    • Debra

I bought 2 king size milky way bars, 2 bags of reeses mini bags, 2 pantene shampoo's and 2 oral b tooth brushes  all for 47 cents with coupons and an extra care buck that I used. I got back $6 in ecb's for next time.  I was so proud of myself. I'm a pretty good shoppper but I think this was about the lowest I had ever spent oop at CVS.

    • Tdwscoupons

I am new to the website and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all the information and tips you give.  I've looked at several sites and yours seems to be the easier and most informative.  I made a trip to Publix and got $70 worth of stuff for $20 which I was extremely happy with!  2-Clorox Wipes,2- Pierogo's, 2 Ritz, 10 yogurts, 4 boxes Ronzoni pasta, 1 Hebrew National Hot Dogs, 2 Cabot Cheese, 1 Publix Cheese Slices, 1 Pkg Toufayan Wraps, 2 pkgs Carefree Pantishields, 2 Country Crock Spreads and 2 bottle Bayer Asprin.  WOW!  I was excited!  LOL!
BTW:  I have a question about FB coupons.  What's the deal with not being able to print them?  I noticed a lot of people commenting that they can't either.  I can't even FIND the coupon once I “Like” the site.  Any ideas?

      • Sometimes when you “like” a facebook page, look over to the menu along the left side and you will see a link to savings, coupon, or something similar. I am also having the same trouble printing them. I am on a Mac using Safari browser and trying to print to an all-in-one printer. I've tried everything they suggest and still can't print them.

      • Amanda Carlton

We have had problems in the past as well, but it has to deal with a security setting. Coupons will not appear on facebook if the page is considered “secure”. You can get to the coupon 1 of 2 ways.

        1. In the address bar take the s out after the http. Hit enter and it should load the page with the coupon.

        2. Under settings -> Privacy, uncheck always load on a secure page. This should also allow the coupon to load. If you do this I highly recommend you go back afterwards and recheck this option.

        Hope this helps!

I had an amazing week at CVS.  I went in to get 3 cases of water and discovered they had their Rimmel makeup 75% off.  I ended up getting 3 foundations, a mascara, a nail polish, and eyeliner/sharpener kit and 3 cases of water.  After coupons & $5 ECB I paid $1.98!  That's less than what 1 case of water cost!  I love that they let you use the overages on their coupons! It really pays to be prepared with your coupons.  Had I not taken them, I would've lost out on some amazing deals.

    • Heather

I had my first ever coupon outing today @ Harris Teeter and Spent 151.80 – coupons were 96.54 So I ONLY spent 55.26. Thought that was great for a first time and not having a full set of coupons yet. So excited!!!

    • Ke32201

i thought i read somewhere on here that you have a spreadsheet or something to track your spending. i would like to use it so i can track how much i save each week.  can you please tell me where to find this?

    • Magogo56

Does anyone know where to find the Seattles Best coffee that was in the paper last sunday?  I looked at Walmart and CVS and they do not carry the 9.5 oz.

      • Tdwscoupons

The only place I could find it was CVS.  It's in the refrigerated section between the Monster Java and the Starbuck's Frapps.
