      Just and FYI

If your coupon doubled is worth more than 1 single item, it will only increase it to the amount of 1 item.

ex: $0.50/3   item is $0.60, the coupon will only be worth $0.60.

I couldn't figure out for a long time why I was not getting the deals like they are posted on the site, then a manager explained it to me.  If you get a good cashier, they will fix it, but corporate has the registers set-up to work this way.

      • ME

Ive never had this problem on a coupon that was for more than one item

      • Kat

You are right. i tried to mentioned last time. The register will only double coupon up tp the face value of the first item. So I almost never use any ..$/2 or more coupons.

        • Guest

That actually depends upon how the coupon barcode is coded, which is a little beyond the beginner level of couponing. If the coupons is correctly coded to apply to multiple items, it will double up to the appropriate amount b/c the register can see by the code that it applies to multiple items. If the coupons SAYS it's for multiple items but is incorrectly coded to only attach to 1 item, the register will only allow it to double up to the price of 1 item b/c all it can read is the barcode and the barcode says it's only for 1 item.

      • Margoren

That has only happened to me with $/3 or $/4 but never with $/2. You can always go to customer service and tell them it did not double.

      • Tibbsgang

This is good to know.  I had this happen to me last week and noticed it after I got home but did not know exactly why this happened and was really disappointed.  Next time I will know.  Thanks!

      • Ghettobillys

I just used $.75/3 Hamburger Helper @ $1.00 each and it doubled to a total of $1.50 off……..

      • Jaime

Coupons are coded with a quantity which doesn’t always match the words – Yoplait yogurt coupons, for example, are my biggest annoyance with this – the “buy 6” coupons typically are only coded for buying 4 – and will only double/triple up to the cost of 4.

    • megsc

will ht take publix coupons as competitor?

      • they only take competitor coupons off your total purchase not off particular items.

        • Sajant

i have heard that stores in sc are changing their policy to begin to take coupons for particular items in addition to already taking $ off your total order!!! :)

    • Lucki1415

is it better to scan your vic card first or give them coupons first….or does it matter?? just want to get the most bang for my buck

      • ME

coupons will not double without vic card

        • Smel630

this is correct.  I always give my VIC card first.  Don't want to miss any doubled coupons

          • Shirley

I have found that is doesn't matter when I give them my card… they ring up my groceries while I'm searching for my card… then I give them my card… and I've actually had one cashier tell me he wanted me to see what I saved before my card, and that was true… then I hand them my coupons and I rack up the saving and have such good service from the Harris Teeter stores. Plus, they are so clean!

      • Dsrqpns

VIC card first.  If they ring up a evic before your card is scanned it does not give you the discount.

    • Stephanie

Excellent sale, especially after a super double week!!

    • JL

Just wanted to start this HT shopping week off with a positive remark… between 3 trips to HT and 1 brief Publix trip(b1g1 ketchup grab and juice grab) I was able to spend $130 and save around $260. This included ribeyes, strips, ground beef, chicken, milk, fresh produce and a box of $5.00 popsicles I had no coupon for(gasp) to appease my patient yet going cranky 3 year old. Jenny Thanks. Yes they were out of lysol wipes but oh well. This was awesome!!

    • Jenny1151

Has anyone ever noticed that EVERY time you go in HT for a sale/free item, they are always out?  And their prices are so much more expensive than other stores.. How do regular people shop in there on a day to day basis as their “regular” grocery store.  I only go to HT when they have really really good coupon deals.. and still lose out on 3/4 of those because it's like the items are pulled off the shelves..  Sorry ladies,  Had to vent.. tired of always missing deals… LOL

      • Lyddiejay

I think it is certain stores that are always out.  Plus you might try different days.  They get trucks every other day.  Mine is always well stocked but there are several in the area.  Monday and Tuesday at the end of there sale period are bad days though.

        • Sad Panda

tuesday night is a great night to go in to get the last dregs of the deals, local store here restocks at about 1030-11 on tues night. fantastic time to hit it up for those last deals during great weeks such as super doubles :)

          • Lyddiejay

Wow I didn’t know.  I don’t have the time to go Tuesday late tho.  Gotta wake up early (4 am).

      • qdude

You ever noticed that when people go to the store to get a great deal….they are mad because other people got there before them to get the same great deal?  You ever noticed that people expect a store to have an endless supply of items, especially the one that 100's of people are rushing into the store to get for free?  RAINCHECKS, return later, get there earlier….don't go at all, seems you have multiple choices.

        • Yeah. I'm never mad. I'm happy someone else got the deal and think to myself, better luck next time.

          • qdude

lol…that is cool. I don't understand the people that love being “victims”.  I like it when a good item is on sale, but out of stock.  I get a raincheck and come back another day that week when it is in stock.  Thus, I can get it then and as well as I can get it again later.

            • Guest

Well only problem with the rainchecks is that whenever it gets restocked, we ran out of time to get in on the deal unless you hold out for the next round they have it and/or go without that item.  I don't think I get 'mad' but I am really disappointed since I thought they would of restocked by the time I went back second time.

            • qdude

I am not sure I understand what you are saying…Rainchecks never expire.  I might have misread your post though.

            • Sad Panda

rainchecks do expire, one of our local grocery store chains sets them to expire within 30 days. so that is not true of all stores; it is the responsibility of all couponers to check the policies at any store they visit to avoid any surprises.

            • qdude

May be true, except we were discussing HT policy and HT stores.

            • Sad Panda

the point being that not all grocery stores have forever lasting rainchecks; it was a point that I was making for all readers, even perhaps the newbie that might be reading so that they do not assume it is a blanket policy. Your statement felt like a blanket statement for rainchecks, I desired to add some clarity henceforth the “..check the policies at any store..” part of my statement.

      • qdude

In fact, you can use these situations to your advantage.  You go in for a great deal only to find the product out of stock.  Get A RAINCHECK!  Then, find out when that store is restocking and go back to buy it.  Now, when you are ready in the future, use your raincheck to get the item again at the great price. You have to look beyond the “why me, poor pitiful me” mindset and find ways to use your circumstances as an advantage.  The world is full of victims, quit being one.

        • Kcreviews

I have noticed that every time you post (twice in the last few minutes), you are negative and blast people who have genuine complaints. Give a little grace, please, and instead of blasting them with your printed word, make kind suggestions in a nicer way. I'm sure we would all appreciate it. Thanks.

          • qdude

That is because some people don't get it unless they are given a little firm push in the right direction…. the original poster was whining, and in obvious need of some help.

            • Guest

Guess it easy to see what the emotions are behind a posters typed word then.

          • qdude

I have no problem with your reply, as that is certainly your right.  But, I will say that I would disagree that “we would all appreciate it” may not apply.  There are plenty of people on here that really tire of the “poor pitiful me” attitude that seems to take over the chat sometimes.  Whiners contribute NOTHING.  Instead of whining, how about asking for advise on how to deal with out of stock situations?  But it isn't in their nature….the only thing whiners can think of doing is whining!

            • Sad Panda

It applies to me, you did blast the OP.

        • Lopezshopping

Exactly qdude!  I agree.  I just walk up to the customer service booth and ask for a raincheck.  They're eager to give it to you, I guess since they know you're coming back to buy them.  I wish I had  known about them when I started couponing instead of taking trips to HT's constantly to see if they were in stock or not. lol.  It's not hard at all, just ask them for a raincheck, tell them the item, and the price and quantity of them you want to buy.  They'll look it up and write it out for you.  Just make sure to give them the raincheck first before they start ringing you up (that was what I was told by a clerk… it helps them to override what they need to instead of having to try to correct the whole receipt after you're already rung up and give it to them)

          • qdude

I have never had a hard time getting a rain check either.  Like you said, they are usually eager to write it.  Happy couponing.

        • SarahxNC

Question :) I had been looking for the Soft Scrub Spray for the entire week. Even got up extra early this morning & went about 6:30. They say they start stocking at midnight but it wasnt there. If I got the raincheck for the Soft Scrub, would they still double the coupons? Cause that was a great freebie, unfortunately they were out every day.

          • qdude

Not if it is more than the .99.  BUT…if you wait until the next superdoubles, then you can get it then.  There will be more coupons, always are.  If it is less than .99, then of course you are good to go.  Good question. :)

            • SarahxNC

Gotchya. That would be pretty awesome though if they did the rainchecks w super doubles, lol. Thanks for answering my question. Will definitely hold on to those coupons :)

            • qdude

              Happy couponing!

      • Momof2Boyce

You have to have a back up plan.  Several things that I went for on the first day were out so I kept going down my list until I found enough items for 20 coupons.  When I went back the next day, everything I missed out on the day before was restocked.  I still never got the Soft Scrub or the Sure deodorant either, but I made up for it with everything else I did get.  My big score was the Smart Balance butter & milk.  They had a buy 2 butters get milk free deal.  The butter was $3.19 each.  I had a coupon for $1 off 2, then I had $1.50 coupon for the milk that was already free.  So I got the milk & 2 butters for $1.38! :)

    • Shannonw1983

i have a question about evic coupons so if gillete deodorant is 4.00 and they have a evic coupons for two and say a paper coupon for 1.00 then i would get it for 1.00, dont want to seem dumb but just want to make sure it would work like that

      • Karawtn

That is exactly how it works.  The Blue Bunny ice cream was 3.49 this past week.  I had a 2.00 evic coupon and a .75 paper coupon which doubled, scoring me free ice cream.  Yay me (and my kids if they are lucky – I might share)…lol!

        • Momof2Boyce

          I had a $.55 coupon so mine was $.39. :)

    • Shirl

Right before the day was over today, I got a $1.50 coupon for Rachel Ray's dog treats… and of course I needed more Kettle Chips… and I also had a coupon for Sure Deodorant and Gain dishwash… the dishwash was out (it would have been a freebie)… but I got two bags of Kettle for .50 each and the Rachel Ray treats were $3.50 so I got them for .50 (my dawg loves me) and I got the deodorant. Oh, and I got two Ken's salad dressings.  All that for $2.50!! My little dawg is still licking his chops… gotta get him something every time I go to the store or he pouts. :-)

      • Mmreep

Where are the Qs for Rachel Ray dog treat?

    • SarahTurner902043

I just p a i d $21.87 for an i P a d 2-64GB and my boyfriend loves his Panasonîc Lumîx GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.
Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://bit.ly/Bid1st

    • Sarah Glanovsky

I went to HT earlier to finish off my doubles week ~ First prob, cashier snatched my cps right out of my hand, then as she was ringing up my items she was counting out loud what and how many items i had! I was like WTH? so any how , I had managed to find 3  items which would have been FREE items for me if when she was scanning my Qs she slowed down alittle bit. She was scanning so quickly that when i double checked my reciept she had NEVER scanned my 1.50 cent Qs for the skintimate shave cream which would have all been for me. Also , I was a bit mad because the items that are on my EVIC coupons never were taken off. I did complain to management and all i was told was THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT ,SORRY. I did say YES there is something you can do about it~ Teach your cashiers to SLOW down alittle bit more and not to be grabby ! I did walk out and decided to call corporate.

      • jane

I sent an email to the e-vic department over my evics not showing up, and they asked me to bring my receipt back to the store for a refund (payment?)

        • nipa

I had encounter the situation where the evic coupons didn't ring up, so the manger went behind the service desk and they have computers where they scanned my card and it pulled up all the coupons i had and they scanned the items and then gave me refund of the coupon amount.

      • Lopezshopping

Sounds like you have a HT where people probably go coupon happy and are pissing off the management and staff which, unfortunately for you, it gets taken out on you.  I had some eVic coupons not appear, and I took my receipt and the item to HT.  They happily corrected the issue and gave me $4.00 cash back for the $2.00 off each Duracell pack that didn't come off of the receipt.  They've also been helpful with rain checks whenever I've gotten them.  I'm guessing their registers are working better though because coupons I could swear doubled before that were DND's seem like they don't now.  I could be wrong though.

        • Shine4h1m

I have had an unfriendly cashier or two at HT.  Overall they are good.  The ones that are cranky I want to politely tell them that if it wasn’t for coupons you would not have the business that you have, therefore you probably wouldn’t have a job.  HT prices can be steep without coupons!

      • Ladykattt

contact corporate they will take care of the issue…i had a problem with my coupons not being scanned correctly and corporate added the money that was missing to my evic card and all of it was taken off my next order…some cashiers do not like couponers and some managers feel the same way but once corporate hears this they take care of the issue… i have been back several times and now everyone in the store takes the time to slowly scan each coupon and make sure that it doubles…the manager even help customers find what is on sale to use the coupons with…

      • Kelleys2005

There is something to do about it…. By policy they can scan the coupons that they missed and give you the money back. That has happened to me before and they have fixed it everytime.

      • Beckyg21

I had the same issue with my evic Q's they can't do anything about the paper coupons but they are able to do a refund with the evic q.

        • Dixieflame18

I had it happen to me with the cashier not scanning my coupons so i went back and they lady went to the register and got the coupons out his register and gave me money back.

    • Karmah60

If I give my card that has e-vic coupons on it, will I still get to use and double my paper ones?  Do the e-vic coupons stack with the ones I already have?  I'm wondering because I'm loading my card up online and I notice there's a LOT of coupons I already have in print form too.  It would be awesome if I could use them both!

      • Kari

yes you still can use your paper coupons and they will double as long as the coupon is .99 or under.

      • Kyndal

Hi Karmah60, Yes they will stack with your manufacture coupons. Happy Shopping  :0)

      • Lopezshopping

You can combine both eVic Zavers coupons with manufacturers coupon.  I had printed a Blue Bunny $1.00 off coupon for joining their site (didn't double).  I used it a few days ago, and had also saved a $2.00 Zaver eVic onto my card which I forgot about.  When I bought one Blue Bunny ice cream that was on sale (3.49 for one), it took the $1.00 off paper coupon, PLUS the 2.00 Zavers eVic coupon so a WHOPPING $0.49 cost for a Blue Bunny Ice Cream!!!  lol!  I loved every bit of that.  So yes, as far as I know, you can combine both manufacturers coupons with the Zavers eVic coupons on the same item.  Hope that helps.

        • 28086

Thaks for this info. i also registered with Blue Bunny Ice cream and
got a 1.00 coupon, YAY! I hope it works the same way for me.

      • Rvanhoy72

yes u can use paper with the e-vic coupons and the paper still double.

      • Dsrqpns

I had a bogo for Kraft veggie mac and an evic bogo, too.  I got them both for free!  Just got back about an hour ago!

      • Sigaduro

I had an awesome experience with the evic ZVR coupons today. I bought 2 Go gurts for 2.50 each. Then i used a .75/2 paper coupon and I also knew that I had a evic ZVR for .75/2. Should have saved 2.25 on 2 go gurts. Looked at my receipt after leaving and saw that it took 2 ZVRs off my total, for the go gurts. Then i remembered that I had 2 different .75/2 ZVRs for go gurts saved to my card. It took both off!!! Yay! Got each box for $1. Not a bad deal!

    • Ghettobillys

When I got the Hamburger Helper $.75/3 deal, the advertised $1 wyb 3 Catalina didn't print.  I took my receipt to customer service and was given $1 cash.  Also, I took back an item a few days ago, explained to customer service that I had used 1 mfr Q and an Evic Q on it and only paid $1.07 OOP.  The manager was called over, informed of the situation, and told the associate to give me the entire amount back – $4.36 in cash – because they were getting reimbursed by the manufacturers for the coupons.

      • Laurakc181

I got some apples the day before last and the lady rung them up as the wrong type of apple making them twice as much.  I didn't notice it until I got to my car and noticed the apples cost $9 instead of the $4.50 they should have been.  I took it inside to just get my $4.50 and they just gave me the full $9 back!  I was so super happy about it.  HT has such amazing customer service!

        • Amy

It rings up right or it’s free. That’s what CS told me today.

    • Kathryn21

This is a loooooooong ad for the week after super doubles!

Just a heads-up!  I saw peelies on the 8 o'clock coffee in Food Lion Monday!  So keep your open at Harris Teeter!  (But please…don't run to FL to take the peelies!)

      • Kathryn21

Ooops….I meant “keep your eyes open!”  :-)

    • megsc

What does everyone think of the meal deal? If I use 2 ($1) coupons for the lunchmeat and the juice, is it a good deal? Thanks!

      • Srgordon

Bread was $1.39-cheese was $1.29-Minute Maid was $2.50-Lunchmeat was $3.50, so you only save like $2 something or that is what took of at the register, so you save like $4

    • RonyMaldiss

I paid $23.88 for an i Pad 2 32-GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic

Lumiix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.41 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I

will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I

also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 635 which only cost me $ 61.74 to

buy. Here is the website we use to get it al from,

    • Tylersmommy1219

Our Harris Teeter has been tripling coupons for a couple months now (other than last wks Super Double).  I am planning a great trip tomorrow.  I hope that everything is well stocked.  I had a bad shopping trip during Super Doubles so it’s time for me to have a BIG SAVINGS trip again.

      • Are you shopping the Hickory store?  One of my sources there said that tripling is ending, I am not near there to ask first hand- but that is the rumor.  They said the last week of the month is the last time :(

        • BethinHickory

I asked in person…the last day of triples is August 30th.

          • Tylersmommy1219

Yes, it’s true.  Last day is Aug.30.  Cashier said that they started doing it to bring in more business, but since everyone is saving so much, they aren’t profitting any more than usual.  I don’t know what I’m gonna do when they quit tripling. :(

            • Erica

I know I  feel the same way!

      • tgirl

        which location is it?

        • Tylersmommy1219

          Belle Hollow

      • tgirl

        which location is it?

It’s true that’s it’s ending August 30. I asked my cashier, and she said, “If people hadn’t abused it…” All the more reason to coupon with integrity, friends! When people abuse the system, it doesn’t work in the long run.

    • EthanVanser

I got an iPad 2 32-GB for $21.68 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 . Here is the site we use to get it al from, http://to.ly/aXiO

    • Momsdword1

Thanks a bunch for all you do to make it easy for us with the ad and Q match ups.  You truly are appreciated!!!

    • Kitty

The Mariani Dried Fruit coupon says do not double so we won't be able to get it for 19 cents :(

      • Kepnerjennifer

it doubled on my reciept, the cashier told me depending on the code on the coupon some still double even if they say not too

        • Deanna

At my HT the cashier told me they get written-up if they double a ‘do not double’ coupon.  While I would like to get the deal, it’s not worth someone else getting in trouble for me.  I’m sure it depends on the store and how strict they are.

      • Sigaduro

The register will double it, I used it this past week and it doubled just fine. Guess it depends on if you get a person who checks the coupons well or not.

    • Lopezshopping

First time in awhile that HT doesn't have much of anything for me to get.  The Edy's is a great buy with the 1/2 coups I have but that about sums it up for me.  Lol!  Hoping next week's will be great.. I have several coups that will end on 8/31.  Hoping for some great deals to come about soon…

    • Kcreviews

Thanks for the list Jenny! I just have one addition: there is a printable q for eggs (I think it's 55 cents/2) that we can use for the egg sale! :)

    • Couponssaveu$

I have a couple of questions about HT and coupons. I really hope someone can help and give me answers. (1) Do all HT locations have the same coupon policy? And is their computer registers set differently? Example: This week I went to one HT to buy a product with like coupons that didn't double. On that trip they allowed me to use 10 of those coupons. And then the next day I go to another HT, and I want to use like coupons that don't double again, and the cashier saids your only allowed “3” liked items coupons, whether they double or not. This has happened more then once, at different HT locations… I just want to know from the experienced coupon people out there “HOW MANY LIKE COUPONS CAN A PERSON USE, EVEN IF THEY DON'T DOUBLE? (I know if the coupon doubles it's 3 like items) Also has anyone else experienced conflicting advice from one HT to another?

      • trianglemom

        Their policy states:

'We double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupon; additional coupons for like item will be honored at face value. Like items include all flavors.”

You CAN use more than 3.  Now the policy also states that they have the right to limit quantities, so 10 might be pushing it.

        • Couponssaveu$

Thank you for your reply. Also this woman cashier said that HT changed their policy, and you can ONLY use 3 like coupons. HT won’t accept anymore then 3 coupons, even if it’s not doubling. Did they change their policy recently?

          • trianglemom

Not regarding the use of 3 like coupons.  I quoted directly from the policy listed on their website.  Might be a good idea to print and keep a copy with you if youre having trouble.

      • Guytongirl

Last week during Super Doubles I used 6 like coupons but many of the things I experienced last week was due to the madness of the sale and customer satisfactions being given out all over the place… also I stick with young male cashiers… they tend to be more laid back on policy~

    • Roatancoffee

Just had a great trip at the teeter, was able to get x-14 toilet bowel cleaner for free dollars and free cents (tax 0.3 cents for all three) yeah me!!!.  I have a question about the peelies. Technically they are MQ’s rite? but I had no problems using both the peelies and my regular Qs I took to the store tonight. was that just a nice cashier? Soo I got the hefty freezer bags for .84.

    • AlexJamie90201

I just p a i d $21.87 for an i P a d 2-64GB and my boyfriend loves his Panasonîc Lumîx GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. • Ibdqt34

My HT has Pampers 2/$18.99 (not $19.99 off of 1) like above. There are also several evic coupons plus the coupons above that are listed!

Also: Duracell has evic coupons and the Betty Crocker fruit snacks as well.

      • tk

which HT has pampers at 2 boxes for $18.99??  if so thats an unheard of deal!

      • Guest

I think maybe the pampers you are talking about are the jumbo packs, not boxes for $18.99?

      • mamabelbel

The 19.99 listed above is the box and the 2/18.99 is the smaller jumbo packs.  Personally, I wouldn’t pay that much even with qs unless you have some really high $ qs.

        • tk

I agree, that must be for two jumbo bags which is a crappy deal even with qs.

      • Ibdqt34

Looks like I misread the deal. Thanks for helping me out!! My friend is having twins and I was going to pick up a couple of boxes for her…not now. Hopefully, they’ll have some better deals (like the one they had that the final price was $2.99 after q’s and evic coupon)!

    • Lauren

There is an even better deal for the peanut butter. I don’t knew where the coupons came from- I found them on a shelf in walmart back in June- but there are coupons for 50 cents off the pb. I just bought three jars and the jelly for $1.38.

    • Shannonw1983

how many evic coupons of same item will they allow at a time

      • qdude

It is only good on one item. You can go back and reload it on your card again after you use it though.

    • savngmoney11

Check your e vic coupons. If u have to pick Up some butter, on e Vic there is “free ht large eggs” w purchase of 2 country crock butters 2/$4 (w .40 man q doubles to .80 each or $1 wyb country crock and lenders bagels that are bogo.) Also if you just have to grab some oreos the new triple layered Oreos are bogo on evic $3.99 – .75 man q on 2 Nabisco but it does state “do not double”. But if you want to keep your 3 ur old happy while your shopping, still not a bad deal. Also picked up the lucky charms chewy bars w man q .50 doubled and .50 e Vic spent .50 cents for a box to give my daughter a fun snack to balance the yummy w the healthy lunch items.

    • savngmoney11

P.s for those that live in Nashville, the ht in the bellemeade off of Harding road has awesome employees. I started couponing while u was out on medical leave about 5 months ago and had never shopped at ht before then, and they are super friendly. My kids love shopping there because everyone knows who they are and go out of their way to get to know my two kids who are usually w me. Plus they are SUPER coupon friendly. You still have to follow the limits and rules but they won me over w the great employees.

      • NCBelle

I can say the same thing for my Harris Teeter in Clemmons, NC!  All of their employees and managers are wonderful and they smile all  the time!  I know Super Doubles must drive them crazy but you would never know  it.  I, too, am won over by that store!!

        • Sarah Glanovsky

I shop at the clemmons store and the first time i was dissapointed was this past tuesday during super doubles. The cashier scanned my qs so fast she missed 3 1.50 ones! when i asked the manager what they would do to fix the problem ,he wasnt all that nice to me ! i did have to call corporate to complain which i felt was necessary at the moment. Usually everyone is freindly but not on Tuesday :(

          • DeeMee

Sooo true.  The Clemmons HT is awful and everybody is mean and you should definitely not go back there!
It’s worth a try to keep it all to myself…I love that place! :-)

            • TC

I have had nothing but good things to say about the manager at the Clemmons store, Glenn.  I had a friend to have an issue with a cashier.  He made ot up to her with a gift card.

      • AudraBridge

I shop at the Belle Meade store too, :) and yes, they have great customer service.

    • Savingmoney11

I picked up the ziploc containers today that were bogo w the 1.5/2 q and when I got home I opened up the package there were more coupons inside the medium sized square containers and they don’t expire til 2013

    • Traceycol21

I love my Harris teeter! I have always had a good experience in Chespeake, very coupon friendly.

      • Karmah60

I shop at the Chesapeake HT too.  They’re so nice!

    • DukeBlueDevilFan

If anyone visits Farm Fresh they have Gain detergent on sale for 4.99(liquid and powder). If you use the $1 off coupon it doubles to $2 making it 2.99. I bought 2 today and got 2-$3.00 off catalinas to use on my next purchase! Can’t beat that!!

    • Coupongalnc

hi guys! just want to ask if HT accepts 2 coupons in a bogo sale…thanks!

      • NitaRoyal

yes, because each item rings up at half price

      • Dhecbc

not at the one in Mt. Pleasant because they say one is free even though they ring 1/2 price

        • MarySC

Coupon policy recently changed and they should be taking two now!!

      • Immn Native

Yes, you can use 1 coupoin for eachnitem!

    • Susan Danao

What a great week after super doubles!  I think there were more deals in this post than we saw at our local HT store during super doubles!  Excited to start shopping tomorrow:)

    • Angelascoupons1

Help!  I’ve got these Life Cereal coupons that are going to expire at the end of the month.  I can shop at HT, Lowe’s Foods, Food Lion or Walmart in my area.  I have not seen any deals on the cereal.  What is everyone’s advise?  Walmart is sure to have the lowest price on the cereal but I won’t be able to double the coupon.  Maybe there will be good sales next week…but who knows?  The thing is, I paid a clipping service for these coupons…so I feel really obligated to use them!

      • Guest

I am sort of new to this…only a couple of months of couponing, but my son loves life cereal.  I can’t ever really find a good deal on it.  I did see it at Target a few weeks ago on sale, but I usually purchased it at Walmart for the same reason you stated above.  Good luck!

      • Dixoniv2

My Walgreens had Life Cereal marked to $2.50 this afternoon. It was in the clearace section in Florence, SC.  If you have Walgreens, you may want to see if they have it too.

        • Angelascoupons1

Great idea except my wags stopped carrying it two months ago…so I did get a good deal then! I am going to have to hope for a sale next week or head to Walmart, I believe.

      • Ashwillis83

what clipping service do you use? Im thinking about using coupons by dede.

    • Anonymous

The Kozy Shack Pudding printable coupon and the Driscoll’s printable coupon are Do Not Double. And my experience at Harris Teeter is that there software catches that and does not double the coupon.

      • MarySC

There is nothing special in any store’s software to “catch” the print on the coupon that says “do not double”.  If the coupon barcode starts with a 9 then it will not double. If it starts with a 5 it will double (regardless of what the coupon says) unless the cashier manually stops it from doing so. Tons of coupons say “do not double” but start with a 5.

A big looming issue for couponers is that on the new barcodes, the “do not double” command is embedded in the barcode  (no “number” to check), and I haven’t been able to figure out how we will be able to tell it.  So we will be spinning the roulette wheel about which coupons that say “do not double” really won’t!!

Also with the new barcodes, the expiration date is embedded and the product information is much more specific; these things will be wonderful for cashiers and bad for those couponers who try to get away with using expired and/or wrong item coupons!!

        • Guest

I had trouble last week with the Garnier coupon at Harris Teeter. It is did not say DO NOT DOUBLE but it did not.  The only way I caught it was on this blog.  They corrected it for me, both times i used it, but you must pay attention.  It could be easliy missed in a sea of savings.  Thankfully, someone caught it and shared the info.

      • Hanna4

i just bought some and they doubled it without a problem.

    • Laura

I dont care anymore if HT super doubles any more.  I am tired of the attitude when they super double.  The store in matthew NC off indpendance the managerment staff is very rude.  even when its not super doubles.  I will give my business to Bi-Lo for now on.  They area always friendly and seem to want my business.

      • Amy

My store has a similar attitude. I just stopped shopping there.

        • Cheryl

I love shopping at all the Harris Teeter stores here in Charlotte. Great customer service!!

      • Sam

Attitude seems better in an area that has lots of grocery stores.  Here in Cary, NC within a few mile radius I have several HTs, Food Lions, Kroger, Lowes Foods, Trader Joes and warehouse clubs.  The HTs seem to very badly want the market share, and the cashiers, young and old seem happy when you get a great deal. The only snarly attitude I get is at Kroger in Cary.

        • Ibdqt34

I shop at the Morrisville and Durham HT’s and I’ve experienced the same. They are very nice, friendly and always helpful!

      • Dee

I go to Harris Teeter in Monroe the street down ftom BI Lo there pretty nice there, ive gone to HT in wesley chapel dislike that place very bad cashiers!

        • savinmavin

I shop at Monroe also, I have  never  had problem there or at Wesley Chapel. All great cashiers and managers.

      • JR

I shop at HT in Hendersonville, NC and they are very friendly and always accomodating.  Many thanks to the Hendersonville store and their employees.

      • B53yandell

They just hate the super doubles, they also can spot the ones using the coupons!

    • Just picked up 2 dozen eggs and 2 country crocks for $1.30 for all 4!

    • Julissa

Ok i didn’t know where to post this so here I go when one has a coupon that said any one item of (xxx) product but it does not said excludes travel side can I buy travel sides with it at any store?  if the store double the coupons (less then .99) can they double for travel sides items? Like if I buy something at bi-low that is travel side and I have a coupon for .50 c can they double it for $1 confuse sorry.

      • Erica

I don’t know about the Florence store, but they were B1G1 @ 1.19 @ my store. And I couldn’t find them on the express lane either.

        • mamabelbel

1.19 at my store too.  Made it .19 for  2 packs with the  .50/2 from All You magazine.  Also got free Kozy Shack Cowrageous pudding cups using .75 qs and a $1/2 store q that came in a mailing recently.  Was pretty suprised to get HT qs in the mail.  If you have the .75 q, it is still only  .19 for 2 cowrageous and there are more cups in each pack than the Hunts.  Great week for pudding!

        • JR

Hendersonville, NC store had it for BOGO and the regular shelf price was $1.19.

    • Sarahoconnor

Awesome eVIC specials this week!  $1.77 for 10 Minute Maid juice boxes.  If you still have your $1 off coupons it makes them .77!  .97 for Betty Crocker fruit snacks.  With .50 off of 2 (doubled), they are .47 each!  Yoplait Greek is .77 each and there are .50 off/2 coupons so .27 each!  Woohoo!

      • marlene

check your evic coupons for .50/2 Betty Crocker evic coupon you can combine with paper coupon – so .02 each (for 2)

        • Sarahoconnor

Oh, I’m even happier now.  I had forgotten about those-thanks!

        • marlene

i miscalculated the betty crocker fruit snacks are .97 each use the .50/2 paper Q to double and the evic .50/2 = .44 for 2 or 22cents each

          • Karichie3

I got my betty crocker fruit snacks this morning, yay! Thanks Southern Savers :)

        • mamabelbel

2 evic qs for .50/2 came off on my receipt.  Combined with my .50/2 man q that doubled, I actually made a few cents on each box!

      • Karichie3

eVic special on GM cereals too and there was an eVic coupon 50 cents off Lucky Charms so I got 2 boxes of them for $2.44 or $1.22 each!  I got the yogurt too :)  Also at my HT, the Snackwells were 2/$5 so I got one at $2.50 – 0.75coupon that doubled, making it $1!!!

    • Mmreep

Does anyone know what insert the country crock butter was in?

    • Mmreep

Does anyone know what insert the country crock butter was in?

    • Mojojess3

I know this has been asked a thousand times but I can’t remember can you stack manufactures coupons and a HT catalina?

      • marlene

You can only use 1 – they are both manufacturer coupons

    • Adeal23

Wonder why I am not able to print any of the Kraft coupons??  Whenever I click on the coupon it just takes me to their website and does nothing else???????  Any suggestions out there?

      • Adeal23

Figured it out!!  Will it matter that they say “Redeemable in Hawaii?  I have had some stores refuse them because they specify a certain store or place.  Thanks for any feedback.

        • Binker269

I used it with no problems. It is a man. coupon, so they should take it

      • Thanks! I googled a Hawaii zip code and my coupon popped up when I entered one. This one had been annoying me for awhile.

    • MTL

I’m new to couponing, but I’m trying to learn! I’m confused on some things, and why the math is just not working out in my head. For example:Ruffles Chips, 8.5-9.5 oz, at $4.29
      (makes it $1.71 ea)
      If it is buy two, get three — 4.29 x 2 = 8.58.  then 8.58 / 3 = 2.86
How are you getting $1.71? Can someone please explain what I am missing???

      • Guest

When you buy 2 (for $8.58), then you get 3 more free ($0.00).  So you would divide the total spent (8.58) by the total purchased (5).  Makes them $1.71 each.

        • MTL

OH! “buy two, get three” doesn’t mean “buy two, get the third free”(three total)?? Hm, well that makes sense! Thank you!!

          • Anonymous

Would someone confirm: these are not priced like b1 g1 at HT.  When it is a buy 2 get 3 free you pay full price for the first two, the next 3 ring up $0.0.  So you have to “buy”  all 5 to get the deal.  B1G1 each ring up 1/2 price unless if it is an evic b1g1 and they ring full price and $0.0.

            • Okay here it goes. For regular BOGO sales, items ring half price and you may use one coupon per item. For the odd numbered sales, like this week’s b1g2 cantaloupe and b2g3 Coke, it really is buy that many and get X number free. Many times with weighed items like meat, ask an associate how the package is scanning because when they do B1g2 chicken breast it always ring 1/3 the price.

      • Jenlynwil

Your forgetting your getting 5 bags not 3 so 8.58 divided by 5 is 1.71  Don’t worry you will get the hang of it!

    • Momof2Boyce

Does anyone know if you get the $1.77 10-pk Minute Maid juice boxes with the limit of 2, can you still get one for free with the meal deal?

      • Margoren

Wondering how that would work too…. If we get the meal, would it be cheaper because of the juice evic or would the meal be the same price?

        • Smc_123452002

On copons.com they had a $1.00 off coupon for th Minute Maid Juice bringing it down to 77 cents a box.

    • Katiesplawn

Is anyone having trouble getting the EVIC coupons to add to the card. For 2 days I’ve gotten an error message saying “coupon cannot be saved at this time. please try again later.”

      • Eharris1975

You likely have hit your limit.  Go to look at all your coupons and get rid of a couple and try again.

      • Heather

Yes, the same thing happened to me and I called customer serviced.  You can only save 99 evic coupons at a time. Delete one and then try saving another.  If that works, then that’s your problem.  HTH.

      • Omo65

me too, i signed up yesterday, but still getting errors

        • I would call HT customer service (# is on HT website) though I’m not sure what hours they receive calls. They have always been helpful for me- like when I had to get a replacement card and re-sign up for e-vic (my ex of 7 yrs. kept the household card when we split). I believe it took 24 hrs. for the activation, if I remember correctly.

    • Sarahoconnor

Just had a terrific shopping trip at HT.  Spent 44.73, saved 92.08.  Got tons of produce and meat also!  Scored almost free fruit snacks, Honey Nut Cheerios bars, pudding, etc.  They were out of the Yoplait Greek, but I got a raincheck and my coupons are good for a while.  Thank you Jenny and thank you HT!!!!!!!!

      • Mmreep

What is the deal on the yoplait greek? I didn’t see any sale signs up at my store.

        • E-vic specials are only advertised to e-vic email subscribers and are not usually marked as e-vic specials with the special e-vic price in the store. Only e-vic subscribers get the special price. I always print out the e-vic specials from my email and take it with me to the store but I’ve never experienced a problem and have always gotten my savings. You can even get a raincheck if the item or flavor you wanted is out of stock. However, if purchasing an e-vic bogo item, you have to buy both items to get the discount, unlike other bogo sale items which ring up half-price when you buy only one. They did have the greek yogurt today but only had the honey flavor left on the shelf. So I asked the manager and he got me some blueberry out of the back.

          • Sarahoconnor

I get more excited about the e-VIC deals because they are more of what we buy (carrots, Nutella, yogurt, etc.).  They seem to be doing really good e-VIC deals lately!

        • Sarahoconnor

It’s .77 this week for e-VIC special and there coupons for .50 off of 2 which would double to $1 off of 2, making them .27 each!

    • Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet but the 16 oz. jars of Chi-chi’s salsa is a 3/$5 e-vic special at my local HT and I had newspaper q’s expiring next week for $0.50/1 that doubled (not sure which insert, as I don’t organize my q’s that way). So I ended up paying just $2 for three jars. The bogo pudding however, turned out not to be such a great deal. It’s regularly $2.39 for a single 4-pk. at my store. Food Lion has it for $1 practically all the time. The B3G1 q was marked at up to $1 value for the free one so I had to pay the difference, so I ended up paying $3.78 for 4) 4-pks, not terrible but nothing to brag about. I could’ve gotten these cheaper  with q at Wal-mart where they are only $1 ea. everyday. My store has higher prices than most other HT’s, I have noticed.

    • Angelascoupons1

Evics and rain checks rock!  I always look forward to that email with all the special deals.  Many good ones but today, HT was out of a lot.  Hence, rainchecks!  But since all my coupons are good for a while, I’m totally good with it.  Yes, it is a pain but in the end, it is nice to buy the products without the hassle of empty shelves.

Did not find the cereal bars, yogurt, Nutella or even the Smuckers (not an evic, just a sale) but got rainchecks.  Used a raincheck for Newton Fruit Thins that was written as a BOGO (no price specified), so the store gave me the CURRENT sale price as the price for one instead of the regular price!  So I got two fruit thins for $2.99 and used two $1 off coupons on them…making them $.50 each!  That is the cheapest I’ve ever bought these cookies that my family loves!  (btw, they don’t taste like fig newtons, so if you are grossed out by the gooey center, never fear!  it isn’t there!)

      • qdude

Nice!  So many people whine about out of stock items.  You have found the power of Rain checks and used the out of stock to your advantage!

Got an email for Sunday only eVic specials: the one that stood out for me was Honey Nut Cheerios for $1.77 each (limit 2).  I remembered I also had eVic coupons loaded: one for $0.50 off one box of Honey Nut Cheerios AND $1.00 off any 2 General Mills cereals.  On top of THAT, I had a printable coupon for $1.00 off/2 GM cereals.  To sum all that up, I got 2 boxes for $1.04!!!!  Fabulous, thank you, thank you!!!

    • for e-vic subscribers, I received an email this morning for today only Sunday specials- 59 oz. Tropicana orange juice $1.97 ea. (limit 2), (20.5-22.8 oz.) Tombstone pizzas $1.87 ea. (limit 2), 12.5 oz. box honeynut Cheerios $1.87 ea.(limit 2). 5 lb. box Birchwood beef patties $7.99 ea. (no limit!) There are recent q’s for all these items but the beef patties.

YEA HT!  I got the deals, too.  And got to use my coupons for cereal (and evic coupon, too) and OJ.  Great offer and grabbed some pizza, too.  Love my HT!

        • Wouldn’t normally make an unplanned trip but this was just to good to pass up. just returned from a quick trip to pick up the sunday only e-vic items. got 1 box of Cheerios,1 box beef patties, 2 pizzas & 2 bottles OJ. I used q’s (unfortunately I used up all my $1 tropicana q’s during super doubles last week but did have a $1/2 store q for the juice) also had a $2 catalina q good for any purchase of hamburger, chicken or tuna (which I received from buying the hamburger helper deal last week) & I applied it toward the beef patties. Redeemed the e-vic q for 50 cents off the cereal witha  manufacturer q. Spent OOP $11.26 and saved $30.26. Awesome deal!

May not be a super doubles week, but I just managed to save $43.59 in VIC savings and $62.83 in coupons….so over $100 worth of savings and spent $32.32 with tax!!!!  Love this store!!!!

Some of my items included Hunts Snack Pack Puddings, Lenders Bagels, Arnold Bread, Dove Ice Cream Bars, Philly Cream Cheese, Smart Balance Popcorn, Bertolli Pasta Sauce, Ruffles Potato Chips, Velveeta Skillet Meals, Planters Peanut Butter, Schmuckers Jelly, some dried fruit, mascara, and more!

HT is the only store around the Hilton Head area that doubles up to 99 cents regularly.  I don’t mind driving an extra 10 minutes for these awesome savings!

I have been looking for a coupon for the tombstone pizzas can anyone tell me where to find them?

      • Sarahoconnor

I think it was in last week’s paper…$1 off.  I’m going to use mine right now!

My planters peanut butter q was for $.75/1! WhooWhoo, even better deal. Can’t to try the crunchy.

    • E-vic! Remember e-Vic items are one of two types. Every week there are usually a few items that are available to everyone. But the majority of e-Vic item are what is referred to as “targeted” and are intended only for specific  households. Usuaslly there are 6 or so targeted e_vics are you will receive 2 or more of them depending on your spending patterns. This is why they are not signed in the store. Also FACEBOOK special are not signed in store but if you question and item, they will have a list of participating UPC’s at the service desk.

I’ve neer shopped at Harris Teeter before so I’m not sure how this works, but for the buy one get one free do you use 2 coupons? Like one for each item?

      • you may one coupon per item for bogo items – so yes 2 or you can use a $1/2 coupon

    • My local HT has the annoying practice of upping the price of fresh meat so that the B1G1 is not a real deal.  You can always tell if they are doing this if they do not list the price of the item in their sale flyer but just say you get one for buying one.
