Get ready, Harris Teeter folks.  Super Doubles will start Wednesday and run through 1/12!!

What is Super Doubles?

They will 20 coupons $1.98 or less per person per day.  This is tracked using your VIC card.  There aren’t any $1.98 coupons, but there are a good number of $1.50 coupons.

A few tips:

  • Focus on deals with coupons $1 or more.  Remember HT will double those under $1 on normal days so don’t use one of your 20 on a coupon that would normally double.
  • Remember that they do limit most folks to 4 like items with coupons per transaction.  (i.e. don’t go in the 20 of the same coupon and plan to get 20 of that item in one transaction).

I will have a full list of freebies for you hopefully by lunch today!  Stay tuned.

    • Alison

YIPEEEEE!!! Can’t wait to see the list! Thanks in advance!!!

    • So excited!! Thanks!

    • Jamie

YAY!!!! I cant wait to make a shopping dash!!.. My HT is normally higher priced than the deals that you post Jenny.. but I can still score some sweet deals!!

    • Heather

OMG!!!! I have been waiting for this (seems like forever:)) Thank you for the heads up!!! Can’t wait to get Wholly Guacamole for free!! And since I got 7 papers yesterday, I’m good to go. I live in MD and another local supermarket, Super Fresh, is having TRIPLES this week and I am sooooooo excited for HT super doubles on the heels of triples…….I can hardly contain myself!!:)

      • JenGC

I have to ask, how do you keep your coupons? Do you keep them in the booklet like it comes, or do you clip them and keep them in some sort of organizer? I ask this because I have been just clipping them and keeping them in an organizer but they got sooooo big before the new year, it was actually starting to rip, and they are finally down to where it doesn’t bulge. I bought 2 more papers on top of the one delivered (I get more coupons in the delivered paper than buying them in the newsstand) but it drives me INSANE to keep going through the booklet time and time again, looking for the coupon where in the organizer, I just pulled out the section and went through that. Any advice would be welcome…..from anyone really :D

        Thanks!! Jen

        • Melissa S.

I have been using the binder since I started but have decided to test keeping the inserts intact with a list of what’s inside stapled to the front. I take Jenny’s coupon preview list, copy it into Word and then I make sure it is in alphabetical order by brand. (It has been so far). When I get the coupon booklet, I print out the preview list and mark out what isn’t included or make any changes to amounts, expiration dates, etc. if they don’t match. I then reprint the revised list and staple it to the front of the insert and file it by date in an expandable file. I am not a big impulse shopper (I usually just buy what I have set out to buy) so having my binder with me isn’t usually an advantage to me but probably is to other folks. Just depends on how you shop, I guess.

          • JenGC

Tooo smart! I will try that. Sounds like it will help immensely! Thanks so much :)

            • Melissa S.

No problem. Anything to clip less. =) I do find that I still like to have my binder for internet printables, other coupons I might clip and then end up not using, etc.

            • Melissa S.

I also mark the coupon off of the printed list once I use it or when it has expired to make it easy to tell what’s still useable in each booklet.

          • Is there a place new people can go to learn how to best organize and take advantage of sales and coupons?

        • When I first started- over a year and a half ago, I clipped and used the binder, but when I upped to 8-10+ papers a week- that was just not feasible. I have a filing box (well, three actually) that I file by insert date, 12/6 SS, etc. Then I can find, quickly, what I’m looking for, since most websites list coupons by insert and date. HTH!

    • RebeccaF

Wow Heather! You’re going to be in coupon overload and then withdrawal by the end of next week! Lol. I’d like to have a problem like that though.

Great news Jenny! I’ve been hearing about it for a while but it’s only when I see you post a confirmation that I’m totally believing, lol. Can’t wait to see the list. :D

      • Heather

I know!! You should see my kitchen counters and table….coupons flying everywhere!LOL Just got back from SuperFresh and total b4 Q’s was $61.38 and OOP was $4.14. I love it when that happens!!!!

        • Pamela

Heather, you are what I aspire to!

    • OH!!!! I am off in the morning… I know what I am doing!!!

    • Beckett

Yeah! Since I started couponing (little over month) have saved over $1500 – there hasn’t been any super doubles or triples, yet. So excited! Fyi – I live in Salisbury (home of Food Lion) so we only have Food Lion’s and 1 HT, but do have 3 WAG’s,3 Rite Aid’s, and 3 CVS’s! There is a bloom – 30 min away and I will make the drive if there are super doubles or triples. I can’t wait! Thanks Jenny for all that you do!

      • Ashley

Hi Beckett! Are you talking about Salisbury, NC?? That is where I grew up…still home to me, I just moved to Kannapolis! NEVER have I seen anyone from my area!! :)

        • Erin P

I’m a Kannapolis, NC girl myself!!!

          • I’m not Kannapolis or Salisbury, but I’m from Monroe, so I thought I’d say hi :)

            • Kim

Yay!!! I’m from Monroe too! Have you had any issues with the CVS manager by Walmart?

            • I haven’t quite gotten the groove of CVS shopping yet, so I’m not much help on that one. I’ve shopped some at Walgreen’s – usually by the mall and the new one by the hospital and Rite Aid.

          • Ashley

Awww! Yay for people from my area!! :) :) Do you know of any more blogs for people closer to our area??

          • Nikki

I am in Kannapolis, NC too! Ashley, I haven’t found a site that is locally for our surrounding area… that would be awesome!

            • Jenny

I’m in Concord! Nice to see some local girls on here!!

            • LeeAnn

Yay, I’m from Cooleemee (just north of Salisbury). LOVE knowing we can count on info from here for our local HT sales. Hooray for Super Doubles!!

      • Heather

If you have never experienced SUPER DOUBLES OR TRIPLES

        • Heather

Sorry……got so excited just talking about it that I hit the send button too soon! :)LOL Anyway, you are in for a real treat!!!!! Have fun!!

    • Lyndsey

Finally! Our pantry has some extra space I need to fill up.

    • stephlj

I am just kicking myself!!!! I went to HT LAST NIGHT!!!!!!

I think I may do a very very VERY polite inquiry to see if they can retro the coupons I used. (but, wouldn’t count on it! :-))

      • Kim

I went last night too, but I have tons of $1 and up coupons that will be great to use along with the sale for next week! I’ve already got my things organized to run in HT first thing Wednesday morning. I’m so excited!!! I love my new addiction.

    • Alisha

SUPER, DUPER EXCITED ABOUT THE NEWS OF SUPERDOUBLES…This comes at a great time time for me after just getting back from the freezing Birmingham weather watching my GAMECOCKS get man-handled by UCONN!!! SuperDoubles at HT makes the loss seem alot easier to deal with…:)

    • Joy

Does anyone know if Kroger will do super doubles as well???

      • Alysia

Kroger in middle TN always gets a corporate answer the morning that HT starts their promo, usually about 10 am. They have consistently followed HT for quite awhile.

    • Heather

Hurray! What a great post-holidays pick-me-up! I can’t wait to dig into my coupons!

      • Amy R

:~) I am going to “DIG” right now!!!

Thank you Jenny for ALLLLL you do! I hope that you are feeling better!!

        Happy New Years To ALL!!

    • Coupon Diva in NC

YAHOO!!! I can’t wait to see the list!! This is a great way to start a NEW YEAR! I have to get busy organizing the huge stack of coupons from yesterday!! Thanks for ALL you do!!

    • Beverly

My HT is 24 hrs, does anyone know what time the double coupons take affect on 1/6??

      • Katie

I’m pretty sure that I saw a sign at my HT the last time they did triples that the start time is 7am the first morning.

        • erin

          7 am is correct!

          • Beverly

Great! Thanks guys. I plan on being there at 7am to make a trip before I go to work. I am super excited :-) I just started couponing and although it can be some work it is so worth it!

      • Our area says it starts at 7am, but our stores are so heavily couponed, I’ve discovered it really takes affecy around 1-3am. Because when I bother to shop there and arrive at 7am? All the free stuff is already GONE!!!

        • Beverly

Oh No! I don’t think I can get there that early :-( I am not sure if my store is heavily couponed bc I just started couponing and going to HT. I will have to keep my fingers crossed.

        • Kelly

          What is your area?

        • Melissa S.

It’s also helpful to find out when the store gets trucks, if you are able. My husband works at one of the HTs in our area. They get multiple trucks a week. At his store general grocery stuff (cleaning, canned goods, pasta, etc.) is stocked at night the day that the truck come in. Dairy, frozen and meat department items are stocked the morning the truck come in. His department, for example, gets trucks 3-4 times a week.
