Wahoo!  Get your coupons ready, starting next Wednesday we’ll have Super Doubles at Harris Teeter.  This means any coupon $1.98 or less will double.  They will allow 20 coupons per day.

This doesn’t start until 5/19 so hold your excitement down for a few days but get clipping or ordering if you like.

I will work hard to get a list up by Friday night or Saturday morning but also have a fun weekend ahead that will end with a new Brother-in-law.  So here’s hoping I can get it done!

(It’s been a while, but you can at least look over the most recent doubles list to get some ideas).

*Sigh* … I know I shouldn't be, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't oh-so-uber-jealous of areas that double coupons at all, period, let alone Super Double or Tripling events … Oh well … I guess that, true B1G1, and hurricanes are a few of the prices to pay for living in the good ole Sunshine State :) … Those of you who can take advantage of this loveliness, enjoy!!

      • nichole

There is one in Fernandina Beach..I don't know what part of FL you are from but its about 40 minutes away from me and I live in Northern Jacksonville.

        • Melissa H

Really?? I'm in SE Orlando … We pretty much only have Winn Dixie and Publix here … There's a Food Lion or two I think somewhere around, but not anywhere near me … Glad someone in FL can cash in super great super fun stuff like this!! Yay for you! :)

    • jennifermcgrathbutler

sorry for you guys that don't get these deals…that would be horrible. i am almost always jealous of those of you who have a publix! but…wooo hooo. i am so excited!

    • esynan

I get way too excited about Harris Teeter coupon events. My husband thinks i'm a total dork…. until I come home with all of my free groceries!

    • Kazzy

I'm still winding down from triples week, AGAIN, there's only so much I can handle!

      • AmyFMSC

LOL! I feel the same way! I went almost every day to get my 20 coupons a day. I'm going to have to buy a deep freezer and extra pantry! I am so in love with Harris Teeter now! I was hoping to cut my food budget, but they have such good deals all the time, I can't seem to pass them up. I guess the nice thing is, I am getting about twice as much food for my same monthly food budget.

This will be my first real Super Doubles to experience. I had just started couponing when they had the last one, and I didn't really understand much about it. Should be fun! :)

        • Melanie

We just started “true” couponing during the last Super Double week (the first week in March “10), Since then, we have saved over $750. I tell EVERYONE I meet about Southernsavers.com. With the advance notice of triples and super doubles, I pass it along to family and friends both here and in NC. I made a trip to HT every day during triples week and will now plan to for super doubles as well. Yes, it is exhausting, but such a thrill in the meantime. I tell EVERYONE I meet about Southerrnsavers.com. Thanks, Jenny, for assisting us with the knowledge to save money for our families.

    • RebeccaFer

I totally heart HT! I've been soooo hoping for SDs and they didn't disappoint. Thanks for letting us know Jenny! :D

    • Shirley

Wow, that is going to be awesome, just had a double $1, then HT's triples, now this. I'm a little coupon depleted atm, wonder where I can get more.

BTW, a big congratulations to the bride and groom (I hope I am assuming correctly that its a wedding) and have loads of fun! A big thanks in advance for the list too. Cheers

    • Brittney

Yes I was so waiting for this

This isn't about Harris Teeter necessarily, but I wanted to ask you something, Jenny. A friend of mine says he uses coupons for a totally different item as long as the item is from the manufacturer (like you say, if the first 5 digits of the bar code are the same, it will scan). I know this works for bread and cereal for example–let's say your coupon is for Cheerios but you get Golden Grahams instead–it will work–I did it this morning. I also used a Q for brownies but bought cake and it worked (they were both Betty Crocker). Do you advocate this? My friend says he bought Rogaine with a dog food Q one time (or something like that) and the Harris Teeter manager approved it. Weird, huh?

      • Guest

I think that people doing things like what your friend is doing is what is making the stores clamp down on the rules and what also makes them hate couponers. If the manufacturer wanted us to use their q's on any of their products, that would be what the coupon would say. They make them for specific products for a reason. People like your friend are going to ruin things for all of us by trying to game the system.

        • guest

I agree, and just wanted to add that you are putting your reputation at risk when you use coupons on items other than what they are intended for. If you get 'caught' using them incorrectly, you can expect the people that 'caught' you to remember you in the future, and not in a good way. If you want easy-breezy transactions and store employees that are willing to actually help you when you have a problem, I suggest using your coupons on the appropriate items. If you don't really care about your reputation and don't mind having people look at you suspiciously and not trust you when you have some kind of problem with your transaction, well then go right ahead and use your coupons on whatever they scan for.

          • JL

I agree. Play by the rules. It is that simple. People are messing it up for the rest of us not to mention the frustration you cause the cashier and the people in line behind you.

      • Meg

Yes ti does work, but once in awhile you get someone who will not let you do it. One of the managers at our HT gave me back 2 because they didn't match up. It's great when it does work though!

      • Maria

You're asking her if she advocates coupon fraud? Really?

        • kcreviews

I have seen Jenny match up a Q for a Nature's Own product that was not the same as the one on sale. I think it was thin sliced bagels or something and you could still use it on regular bagels or just bread. Do you think that is fraud?
Yes, I agree my friend goes too far. I'm not going to do that. I was just asking.

    • jennifermcgrathbutler

so, first, i want to thank jenny for all her hard work! since the day i found this website i've been hooked & saved tons of $. my question is this: how were the SD confirmed? i just called customer service to make sure my store was included & she said she didn't know, that they wouldn't advertise it before the day it started! i'm just curious & do not want to send anyone into panic mode ;)

    • Jenifer Carnes

Is there a place that shows you what you can get the 19th-25th with the coupons? Like a list of the “most recent doubles list” but updated for next week ?

    • Awesome! I know that Harris Teeter doesn't accept internet coupons for free items (although I don't understand why!) but what about an internet BOGO coupon? Do they accept those? I have 2 for Tornados and also 2 $1 off coupons – they'd be so cheap!

      • LeAnnaShaw

Jackie, I do believe they do accept coupons for b1g1…I am sure I have used them.

      • Brittney

        Nope mine won't take

    • LeAnnaShaw

I just got my Harris teeter evic specials..there is a 1.99 oreos. I want to use this w/ the b1g1free w/ a gallon of milk coupon. I feel that they SHOULD make my buy 1-the 1.99 evic special. and the free…whatever the other price would be. Does that make sense? Or should they take the free one off at 1.99? I don't want to split hairs or upset my store. They already 'barely' tolerate me! LOL…and I am such an upstanding couponer…honest! I just will never understand why pple hate couponers!

    • Nicole

Hello, I am new to couponing and have a catalina question. The last few times I have checked out at HT, I have received coupons from the register with my receipt that are marked “manufacturer coupon” and “redeem at HT”. Are these catalinas, meaning can they be combined with other manufacturer coupons or no? Also, many of these say “do not double”. I know with reg manufacturer coupons, they will still double at HT if starting with a 5, but is this true of these register coupons as well? thanks for any info!

      • Chris

You can only use one coupon per item and if the coupon says “do not double” they will not double.

    • Brittney

the smartsource ones that are dispensed throughout the store that says do not double but they start with a 9 will they still double?

      • Paige

It depends on your store. Some people have no problem but the stores I go to will NOT double any that say do not double.

    • JoAnn

Do you know if Harris Teeter will let you do 20 coupons per purchase? In other words, could you go in twice in the same day and use 20 coupons each time with the same VIC card? Or, if my mother wanted to purchase 20 items as well in a separate check out lane.
