I just got confirmation today of the couponing event at Harris Teeter next week.  What we thought was going to be triples, turns out to be super doubles instead.  So get all your $1.50 coupons ready.

I was working on a list for both just in case, so still expect a long list of deals sometime Saturday to help you get ready.

In case you are new, this means that your local Harris Teeter will double any coupon $1.98 or less.  They double up to 20 coupons per day.  These deals will start Wednesday 6/23.

(thanks Amy & Ginger!)

    • you know I spent all week getting ready for triples then its super doubles ha.

      • Prattm

Some stores will & some will not double if it states so, but a good rule of thumb if the upc code on the coupon begins with a little five, it will double, if it has a little nine at the beginning it will not.

      • jessica1970

I did the same thing. Even placed an order with coupondede — nothin' but .75 off Qs. Oh well. I love super doubles, too!

        • RebeccaFer

I did the same thing but I only bought ones that don't expire until next month … just in case, lol. :D

          • Shannon

I ordered some .75 Q's also. Hopefully can get some good deals anyway. :)

      • Susan

Me too, I'm kinda bummed about it. Although last time I only made it out once for super doubles and I had more I could have done.

    • erin

what if the couon says do not double or triple? will the store do it anyway?

      • April

My store will not if the coupon says not to. But YMMV.

        • Susan

The last time I did it, the register just auto doubled my coupons. The cashier didn't even look at them unless it rang up as an error.

      • Paige

        My store will not.

      • Melissa H.

It depends on the store. Every single one that I go to (Boone, NC and Apex, NC) doubles.

    • Sheila

Oh just those words “super doubles” gives me the giggles LOL my husband thinks I'm crazy but he LOVES to tell everyone what I get for free.

    • Yippeeeee!!!

    • Oh, shoot! Their website says there aren't any stores w/in 50 miles of Gainesville, GA 30501. Oh well. Happy saving to all of you who ARE near this store – sounds exciting!

    • Ana Maria S.

YAY! I was just going through my coupon binder last night but thankfully had not pulled any out yet…I did however just print a lot of $1.50 off q's that I'm excited will now double! ;)

    • Shirley

To think I had gone through ALL of my coupons last night and already have a price list match-up. 'Sigh' Now I have to go through them again. Still, a super doubles is just as exciting as a triples, so I am still psyched. ;D

    • luiza

A new super HT is going to open next Wed less than 1 mile down the road–super double excitment for me, yay!!!

      • moneysaved4disney

You must be near me…are you referring to the one at Dunes West?
It should be interesting to see how their 1st day open goes with super doubles. Lol! Poor cashiers.
I don't usually go to HT b/c of the 20 coupon limit, but I may give the new store a shot.

    • Cmskelton

Flying to DC to spend the week with my sister….so excited to experience a super doubles with her, since there are no HT's here in Atlanta! Yippee!!!

    • Darmanandamy

I thought this would be the case – I went back through all of the HT archives and they seem to run in cycles – 2 super doubles – 2 triples etc – the great thing is that it seems that one week out of every month they do something – Yea for HT!!!

    • miatd

      i cant wait!!!

    • Laura

Boo I have a lot of .75 and under coupons that are about to expire. I was really excited for triples. I don't seem to get as many good deals with super doubles :(

      • yup had the same problem kinda bummed but I can still get some stuff free like the 100 cal kraft cheese bites for Free wahoooo!!

    • Momsdword1

Super doubles, triples….. whatever they offer, I am excited. Gotta love it!!!

    • Saeweardsmith

So excited…I am going to Charleston next week for vacation…so I get to go to HT!!!! We dont have them in Lexington!!!

      • Alicia

There are currently 5 HT's in the downtown Charleston area!!!

    • Akhwbj1

So I can use the $1.50/2 coupons and they will double to $3.00/2? Sorry new to all of this.

      • Ana Maria S.

YES! Isn't that awesome? Sorry, I am just so excited; I love Harris Teeter! ;)

        • Akhwbj1

Thank you so much! I just wanted to make sure before I started looking at my coupons! Also one more thing is it on non-grocery items too?

    • Carolhammock

Where is the closest Harris Teeter to Marietta, ga? I can't find it by searching on google…..ugh

      • Jamie in Douglasville

Cant find any either, seems like they are coastal – I am going to check Alabama.

    • Raymondandsusanboggs

FYI My Harris Teeter in Durham, NC is no longer taking internet coupons for B1G1 or Free items. The manager told me that all the HT's were going to this policy and eventually they will not accept any internet coupons du to all the counterfeiting with internet coupons. I was sad… but understand the merchants position!

      • Guest

I highly doubt that all the HT stores will stop taking internet coupons. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee this won't happen. Maybe your store, but not company-wide.

        • julie1916

HT is not taking internet coupons for free items even if the coupon is a b1g1 free coupons.

          • Couponsue123

I had that same experience with the Nabisco free cookies wyb milk. Oh well, didn't need the cookies that bad.

      • Groveysmom

I just used a internet coupon yesterday in Charlotte on the meal deal.

      • Sweetssaver

what HT do you go to in Durham?

        • Raymondandsusanboggs

Homestead Market & Hope Valley Commons on Hwy 54.

      • Judyleev

My HT in Raleigh (Old Village) told me they don't take B1G1 from the internet either :(

    • Hootiesoftball

I am new to this also, could someone tell me if the manu coupon states no double or tripling, does HT still double or no?

      • Laneeswallace

As far as my experience goes, no grocery store will double a coupon that says do not double or triple, HT is no different. I have gone in and made a buggy full (20 coupon) purchase and then come right back to finish out my coupons and purchases, but that could be exclusive to my area.

        • Pstrader

I go to Harris Teeter at least once a week. On super doubles and triples I may go 5 times. My coupons have always doubled and tripled regardless if the coupon itself says not too. I drive 45 minutes one way to shop there. If they were not going to double or triple I would not waste my time.

      • kd

My HT will double if the first number on the coupon barcode is a 5 regardless of whether the coupon says do not double or not. If the number is a 9 though, the coupon will not double. Ask your store manager about the policy where you shop so you will not be surprised.

        • Bridget

I would not actually suggest asking, because you don't want to draw attention to your “Do Not Double” coupons which start with a 5. The bottom line is that if scanned, they will double; the only way the ones with a 5 barcode will not double is if the cashier pulls them and enters them manually. Any coupon starting with a 9 barcode will not double when scanned.

    • Polarity

Great! I am one week into this and very much looking forward to this HT event. I've never stepped inside one, even had to Google Map for the closest location!

      • AmyFMSC

Hopefully you'll have a great experience & get hooked on HT like I did after my first triples event. I never used to shop there before SouthernSavers came into my life, because I thought they were too expensive. Now they are my favorite grocery store – even on non-super-duper coupon events. I actually look forward to going grocery shopping now! Good luck!

    • Jendixon50

Jenny D. ,Charleston East Bay HT DO NOT DOUBLE coupons if the coupon says ” do not doube”!!!Also last time they refused to take my BOGO coupon for 100 calories Nabisco, printed from FACEBOOK page-” may be fraud”, they said !!!!And the last one- TARGET North Charleston, Rivers, charged me $0.68 TAXES !!!!for subtotal $1.46!!!!instead $0.11!!!! I bought only 3 items – Gillette deodorant,BW and listerine(travel size) for $9.00 and used coupons ,incl.BOGO and they charged me on $9.00 instead on $1.46!!!! I was very disappointed, will not go to shope there ,instead will use there coupons in PUBLIX!!! Nobody else charge me taxes after the coupons like they-ACMoor, Walmart, Publix – only Target !!!!

      • Sybil Nelson

Target North Charleston Rivers charged me $3 for the Olay TE Bodywash when it should have been free. It was on sale for $3.59 and I had a $4 coupon but they took the $4 off of $7 instead of $3.59. I'm going back to complain today.

    • Jendixon50

Jenny D., Yes, my husband and i went there to ask WHY ?, but Target manager could not give us a good explamation- she sayd ” this is the taxes law in SC ” they even do not offer us TO GIVE BACK our STOLEN MONEY !!!!! like people that care for their customer do – WALMART, PUBLIX, HARRIS TEETER, also JCPenney – even they DOUBLE my money if it was their mistake. Last time in Publix i bought things for $50 and had coupons worth $43, paid only $8.58 and the taxes were $1.37 !!!!!can you imagine if I had to pay TAXES $3.75 + $8.58 = $ 12.33 ???????

    • Eamwalters

I think it's standard for the customer to have to pay the sales tax on the item even if a coupon is used….most say in little print that the coupon does not cover sales tax. If your state has a sales tax, then you pay that sales tax on your total PRIOR to coupons. At least that's how it goes in NC. I don't think paying a few cents on a free item is much to complain about.

    • Jwright20

Anyone have any deals figured out yet? I pulled all my coupons and I need a list to see what I need to use.
