3. They will double 20 coupons per day/transaction.

The Foster Farms coupon says the campaign is over.

    • Cat

Crisco oil at my HT was actually BOGO this morning for around $4.39, which worked out to be a better deal.

Thank you for the heads up on the Super Doubles!!

    • Lauren

What are Super Doubles? Sounds exciting! :)

    • lauren

Does anyone know if the start of super doubles means that they aren’t going to be tripling any more??

    • kelly

super doubles is different than triple coupons . . . I’m sure they’ll still do triples!

    • nancy

good question i would like to know too

    • Alicia

I asked a manager here in Charleston about the Super Doubles and Triples. He said he thinks that it will be Super Doubles instead of Triples for a while, because they had a huge response to it last time. Personally, I want my triples back!!!!

    • Me too!!! I want triples back too!!! Super Doubles are good, maybe, once every 2-3 months…it lets us use the $1 or more coupons for some really great deals but triples are AWESOME!
Went to HT today, bought 4 bags of Purina Cat Food (two Kitten, two Cat) they were BOGO and I had a BOGO coupon so I only paid for one. I also bought Cat Liter (BOGO)…didn’t have a coupon but we needed it. Also, got the husband “Sure” deo. (.75 coupon…doubled) and it was BOGO so basically FREE deo. My total was $13 and some change. I thought I did pretty good.

    • Buffy

My local Harris Teeter is telling me that I HAVE to use my VIP card before I start my order – they say if I use it at the end, after coupons, etc. I will not get my BOGO’s and sales prices. Is this true? and if not – can someone give me an idea on how to handle this situation?

    • LeAnn Smith

In case you shop at Harris Teeter, you should know the scam they are pulling. Some of you may be too busy to check your receipts, but if you don’t, you’re getting ripped off. They advertise double manufacturer’s coupons up to $0.99, but this is a lie. Below is a link to their coupon policy. After being ripped off several times, I called the company. What they tell you and what they advertise are two different things.

      1) They do not double coupons that say ‘do not double’. This is not listed on the microscopic print of their advertisement, nor it is posted on their website. When I called, she said this was a manufacturer’s policy, and no stores double these coupons. I told them it should be posted on their website, and I also told them Publix doubles these coupons.

      2) This one is even better. I had a coupon with a barcode that started with ‘9’. These are not doubled. How in the heck am I supposed to know that if the barcode begins with ‘9’, it doesn’t get doubled? I got the same answer again, and I told them they should post this on their website.

They’ve managed to rip a few dollars off from me. Don’t let them do it to you. I’m shopping at Publix from now on, even it is higher. At least they are not liars!!!!

    • linda

hi i am new to this site and i was wondering if someone could tell me what are these booklets she keeps refering to like all natural frozen food booklet or family is its own reward booklet?

    • How does Super Double work?

    • Crista

In response to the “rip-off” post above, I just want to share my experiences at HT here in NC.

If a coupon says “do not double” they have every right not to double them. They don’t need to spell it out on the web if it’s spelled out on the coupon. My HTs don’t look at them and don’t care, so they double or triple them no problem (as long as they don’t start with a 9). But if they wanted to start looking at them and not accepting them, they are justified in doing that. They may lose me as a customer since most coupons say that and coupons are the only reason I shop there,,,but that’s up to them.

As far as the 9’s and 5’s at the beginning of a bar code. It’s true, if it’s a 5 it doubles or triples, if it’s a 9 they don’t. That’s why, if no one looks at the notes that say “do not double” and it goes through, it’s because it has the 5 in the front. If there is a 9 it won’t go through whether the store cares about it or not. Most coupons that have nines say “do not double”. However during the last super doubles I did have a coupon for $1.50 off that didn’t say it couldn’t be doubled, but it had a 9 in the front of the bar code. I knew this going up to the register and was prepared to say they should double it for me manually since it didn’t say it shouldn’t be doubled. As it turned out, I didn’t have to say anything, they overrode it for me as soon as I pointed out that it hadn’t doubled and they saw that it didn’t say they couldn’t.

Usually if you are prepared and nice about the whole thing, you can get them to do what you want if it makes sense. However I won’t try to get them to double something if it says “do not double”, but if I thought it was going to double and then they all of a sudden decide to care and won’t do it anymore, I will have them take the item(s) off my receipt and put it back. The policy at HT is also that they will only double 20 coupons a day, but up until the week of super doubles, my HTs would take 20 at each transaction (up to 5 times a day)so I would often go in 3 times in one day. However, on my second trip during super doubles none of my coupons doubled. We finally figured out it was because I had already been in to a HT earlier that day and they told me it won’t double after 20 in the same day at any HT. I told them I had never had that problem before and they told me it was new…(which means they had reprogrammed their registers…but the policy had always said that). Well, I wouldn’t have bought any of the stuff if it wasn’t for the doubling, so I very nicely told them that I was extremely sorry, but I didn’t want any of the stuff I had just bought (and spent an hour getting). I wasn’t rude, I took partial responsibility, but I didn’t buy the stuff. They were very nice about the whole thing (but NOT the guy in line behind me! LOL)

It’s hard to keep up with everything and there is a learning curve (which I am still very much on), but that’s why couponing is a job! LOL and why not everyone does it. I look at it this way…if it was too easy, then everyone would do it, they wouldn’t be able to offer it anymore and I wouldn’t get my cheap and free food! So, I’ll take the bumps, within reason, so that I still get the deals. If a particular store is too strict, I just don’t go there anymore. I’ve had to do that with one Walgreens here. They are all super except one…that one reads coupon restrictions (man. AND their store ones) differently than anybody with half a brain, but it’s from management down, so I just don’t go to that one anymore. They lost my business and my friends business because they were being silly about how they read the fine print, making it say something it didn’t, so they wouldn’t have to give me the super deals….short sited on there part since I often buy non deal items while I’m in there…but the other 3 Walgreens that I go to are glad to have me.

I hope that helps the original poster or anybody else a little….

    • Christina

The reduced cake mix is not included in the sale. And the Herbal Essences sale ends this sale does not run through super doubles.

    • Maehing O

I went to the new HT in West Ashley ( Charleston SC area), and had a great trip. I got free sure deodorant today, had 75c’s that doubled ont he B1G1, and they had an instore ad that if you bought 2 Borden Cheese’s you got free HT hamburger buns. It works for the wheat buns too! Very nice store… can’t wait till they come to Summerville!

Happy shopping to you all! Nice post Crista!

    • Kim

Thanks for all the advice! Yesterday, I bought 2 Borden Cheese Sensations using a $1 coupon and got the free hamburger buns and only paid $2! Also, I had a coupon for “Buy 3 Get One Free Kraft Mac & Cheese – Up to $1.49.” Kraft Mac & Cheese was on sale for $.77 each and they gave me $1.49! Also, because I bought 4 of these, I got a coupon for $1 off my next order! How cool is that!?

    • Buffy,

I know that the cashier will ask for my VIC card in the very beginning and wait for me to hand to her/him before they start ringing my items. I’ve often wondered if it has something to do with the register not taking money off if they ring prior to scanning the VIC card but I’m not sure. I just hand the card over and then they ring…???

      I’m really not sure.

    • crystal

I wanted to leave a response as well to HT ripping people off, I check my receipt every time I leave HT and I have never had an issue of a coupon not to double. It states in their policy that it will go up to a value of 1.98 or the actual amount of the item (not exactly how I just typed it) what they are stating is, they wont give you overage. so if your “pancake mix” was 1.50 and you had a q for .80 cents off, they would double it but only to 1.50…your receipt would show, manu. coupon .80 then further down the receipt it would say multiplied coupon .70, because you are not going to get the overage the coupon would give you. I have never had HT “rip” me off, it sounds like a combo of your store seems to be on the very strict side and you might not be paying attention to the sale/coupon. I agree with the comment on coupons are a job and that because of that not everyone does it. Also I agree with, I will take the lumps (granted they are not huge, lol) along with all the good, cause I love my free stuff as well. So Crista I applaud you for the great response

    • qponmom

This is true. The card must be given at the beginning of the transaction. I don’t have mine on my key ring and always give my phone #, well I forgot and it caused major confusion. Everything had to be deleted one by one, coupons credited back and everything re-rung on a new transaction. The cashier had already dropped my coupons into the envelope so they were mixed in with all the others. We had to go through the envelope to get them all out. The manager had to come over and help. They were nice about it and I was joking around because I didn’t want to get mad or frustrated. They know me now and when I go they make sure they ask me for the card/phone # first. This may vary by store, but I can only tell you what I personally experienced.

    • I have a question…I have a .55 coupon off any 2 packages of DOLE Fruit Bowls in Gel (Man. coupon that can be doubled), I also have a Harris Teeter coupon (not able to be doubled) .75 off 3 DOLE Fruit Bowls in Gel. Can I only buy 3 and receive all this off or am I required to buy 5?

    • Lisa

Has anyone seen any match ups for the Super Doubles Starting Wednesday?

    • Michelle

The Harris Teeter’s in my area (SE Va) have also cracked down on the 20 coupons per day – not just per store or per trip – per day! As far as customer service I have checked out and paid and realized that I didn’t use a coupon for $5 off $25 and when I went to customer service they handed me $5 in cash plus tax. I have also gone back after shopping, paying, leaving, and going home and realizing they didn’t double a coupon and received the money back as well. Play by the rules and you will be rewarded.

    • Please hurry up and get it out to us. I can hardly wait to see the ads
and find out how much I am going to save. Have to go to the store early wednesday, no other time for me.

    • Katrina

This month online shopping in my area, Charlotte, is only $1.95 and free for the first time. I got the sales flyer off hotcouponworld.com and am going to do my own matchups (if a list doesn’t come out on here first). Then I am going to shop online tonight (eVic customers can shop Tues PM with the new sales) for pickup tomorrow. I figure it is worth $2 (although it will be free since this will be my first time) considering all the trouble it will save me trying to vy for the free items that I want. (I am very pregnant and waddly.) Then I can go in and pick up this set and then do my second set of 20, which I can hopefully get as well. Has anyone tried anything like this? I’m curious to hear others experiences. I’ve heard the online shopping can be really great and you can still use coupons. If it goes well, this might be a good option for me shopping this month when baby comes.

    • Rebekka

I’m wondering if anyone else has had trouble getting the HT Olive Oil deal (buy 2 get 3 free). I’ve gone to Harris Teeter 4 separate times at different times of day, and the shelves are always cleared of the Olive Oil that’s on sale. The sale ends today, and I’m not sure what to do. Should I just accept that I was never able to get to the store in time, or should I complain because in order for people to take advantage of the deal, they must buy 5 bottles of the oil, and therefore HT should have a large stock of the bottles?

    • Melissa

Hi Ginger – If the Harris Teeter coupon is a store coupon and not a manufacturer coupon, then you can combine the .55 off 2 manu. coupon with the store coupon and technically only have to buy 4 total. If the Harris Teeter coupon is a manufacturer coupon, then you would have to buy 5 total. Hope this makes sense.

    • Amy

Hi Jenny! Your loyal couponer fan is ready and waiting on the Harris Teeter super doubles! I’m very excited about it because I did VERY WELL the last time with my mom and dad! Please do not think I’m rushing you, because I’m certainly not! I’ll be here as long as it takes! Love your site, and God Bless you!!

As for LeAnn’s post about the “Do not Double” coupons – LeAnn, there are many stores that do this same thing, but they are not “ripping you off.” If a coupon doesn’t say “Do not Double/Triple” and the register doesn’t automatically do it for you, then kindly ask the cashier to manually do it for you. But if the coupon does say it, then it will not double/triple, and you shouldn’t ask them to do it for you. They can’t possibly keep up with all the coupons that say “Do not double” and put it into their policy. To be a good couponer is to KNOW THY COUPONS! Hopefully you’ll have better luck in the future at HT because their deals can be great!

    • crystal

I have looked at the HT add for july 22-28 and their website says nothing about super doubles… I hope it’s because it’s not yet midnight and they just have not updated their site, I would hate to miss out on Super doubles I am soooo excited about it.

    • crystal

NEVERMIND!!! At exactly 12:00 they put up the super doubles banner!!!!! yooohooooo!!!

    • Stephanie

I’ve just read the Harris Teeter Super Double rules.. how is Super Double any different than regular doubling? It says under “doubling” that they only double coupons with a face value up to .99.

Can you guys clear this up for me?
      Tx so much!!
